So this last month was really rouge. Fell sick and and was just exceedingly and unnecessarily busy at work.

But I spent every moment I could on the game, and still, unfortunately, I won't be able to finish the update any time soon.

It’s frustrating, to say the least, because I’m constantly anxious about losing momentum with the game and people moving on from it—and I've kind of reached a point where I'm just torturing myself over it.

So as the non-functioning perfectionist that I am, I'm forcing myself to be honest instead of pretending everything is going well!

Things are hard right now, but I'm not giving up and will finish as soon as I can.

✮ CH. 2 PART I ✮ 92k (+86k) -> 178k ✮

PLAY CHAPTER 2: PART I

It's here! First, sorry for the long wait. Chapter 2 has proven to be a behemoth, and I'd gotten sick this past week, my computer broke, my documents went kaput and I had to do some Frankensteining for the last few pages of this part. I'm not too worried, as Part II update can help smooth out all the kinks. I will definitely be looking for beta testers once chapter 2 is complete ha

Anywho! Enough about my problems. This demo update adds 86k words (86, 818 to be exact) and is the first part of a two part chapter. Which means the narrative in this chapter is not complete, but I kind of closed it off at a pretty satisfying place. As with every Infamous chapter, this is very character driven. So have fun!

What to expect in Chapter Two PART I:

get on the bus & deal with the consequences of your actions lol

arrive to your first tour stop and do your first gig...which might get messy (both literally and figuratively)

hang with a familiar father and daughter duo

have some heart to hearts/ some cheeky little POV passages

meet more BOTB crew and learn exactly what's in store for you this season

get roped in some ValenReign mess !

Maintenance:

this chapter has a lot of flavor text, or at least, more than the demo did, so if there are any errors or if there are lines that don't correspond with your choices, please let me know so i can fix that!

you will no longer be forced to write your own lyrics and the update will offer you pre-written lyrics by yours truly. im not t swift so i would advise you not to expect professional level songwriting, but they work well enough lolol

lyrics page is up as well as stats, but i don't really like the system i used to balance it, mostly because new...stat things will be added as the story goes on, so that's still getting reworked. still, good enough for now, as there are some personality stat checks!

Prologue and Chapter 1 errors/typos/grammatical bits fixed. (Wouldn't be surprised if I missed some though...) + variables updated.

Scenes not showing up fixed. hopefully, that huge error in which it throws you back to the fight after returning to the house is fixed (It was a bit wonky for me, hopefully it works for everyone else)

Stat and relationship pages updated ( + lyric page to look back at all your lyrics).

Can choose to be asexual and any sexual scenes will be skipped or replaced with romantic scenes. Flavor text in which MC displays any sort of sexual desire will be skipped. (This option comes up during Dakota's party scene. If not, it will show up when it presents itself again.) (Nothing sexual has come up yet, but if there are any scenes or even lines/ internal thoughts that should be skipped or changed for Asexual MCs, please let me know!)

If there are errors or anything, im always open. I've play tested but you girl is always prone to errors. As always, thank you for your love and enthusiasm! It makes me really happy and motivates me to keep writing ! <3

I gave myself a few days to finish up bug-checking and the whole statistic-edits, but I finished before projected. If this ends in there being a lot of missed bugs, then my dearest apologies, but I've just been so eager to share this update with you guys.

Chapter Four is roughly 85.6k words without code, more than doubling the size of the demo. The total wordcount(with code) of the demo is now ~175k words. Without code, it's ~160k, with an average playthrough of 48k words.

I have no definitive information on whether this will break saves - my guess is not completely, but the best experience would be a complete re-playthrough. More information on its contents under the cut! I hope so much that all of you enjoy!

On the more technical side of things, personality stats and relationships both should be able to be pushed higher now. Added more variations of description lines in the 'relationships' tab, depending on if you're flirting or not. A few more custom preference options. Changed up a few names in the 'name select' section because I felt they did not fit with the setting.

I've also been fiddling around with numbers and stuff - they're not my strong suit when it comes to writing, especially realistic ones. For example, Dos now has 80,000 people instead of 30,000. If you see a number that's not what you remember, it might still be a typo, but it's also likely that it's one of those things that I've changed.

Demo Update #3

Yes, you didn't turn insane. You're not reading the words wrong, and this is not a parallel dimension.

I actually managed to update the game.

After what I can call a development hell, the first half of Chapter 3 is finally upon us. This took WAY too long and I'll try not to make this a common occurrence. But, the past is gone, so let's try to focus on the future and the story still has to offer.

I will now retreat back to solitude while I wait for the inevitable bugs that will haunt me for the next few days.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I spent the last week documenting all my plans for the game: character arcs, choices, plot points, and all lore and history. It had to be done at this point lol.

During this process, I realized that the number of chapters I initially planned needed to be expanded.

So, I'm happy to announce that the final game will now include a total of 12 chapters, including both a Prologue and an Epilogue. :D

And just for fun, I also updated the planned chapters' art.

It's going to be another modern AU romcom adaptation, like It Had To Be You.

This time, it's a winter comfort fave from the 90s: While You Were Sleeping with Anthony & Benedict as Peter & Jack. The powerful successful businessman and his artsy younger brother, wherever do I get my ideas lol

I'm expecting it to be around 12 chapters.

Chapter 3 release!

It is here, finished at last!

I've been writing like crazy for the last few days to get this chapter done, adding another 28k words to the WIP, now totaling 62K.

In this update:

Updated prologue (I wasn't pleased with how it was before so about half of it is completely re-written.

Small changes in Chapter 1 (mostly to make it a bit easier to read)

A few extra choices in Chapter 2 (not that many, I just felt there were too few mean options).

And of course Chapter 3! Meet Felina, and try to find a way out of Vorkes
