HC they first met a year or two after Yelan got her vision; post fighting the in abyss but when Kaeya was still navigating his identity from Kaeya, Brother and Right hand of Diluc Ragnvindr to Kaeya Alberich, Cavalry Captain and Quarter master of the Knights of Favonius.

#We know Kaeya's a bit of a sadist and does leave his men in the dark most of the time #Back when he he'd been newly appointed i feel he'd be quite reckless as to how much 'pushing' his knights could handle on missions #used to working from diluc's shadow rather than being the one to direct commands #And Yelan after her experience in the Abyss chooses to work alone and secrectively so that the lives of her comrades won't be in danger #She sees that Kaeya operates very much like her but he does not have the luxury to work as 'freely' as she does when it comes to official #missions for there are still people working under him #(ofc both of them do whatever they want when it comes to going of abyss side quests)#There's no way she doesn't feel some sort of kinship they're really similar in many aspects #she does not want to see a repeat of her certain mistakes #Yelan is also questioning how the actual fuck do the knights operate because why is a 16yr old beefing with her to get to a mafia boss firs #They come to 'good terms' as time passes where they have mutual respect for each other #both of them try their best to outwit each other form time to time of course #Kaeya being petty(er) and Yelan being 'i need to set this guy straight'#But back then after seeing Kaeya work missions for the first time Yelan's thinking that this kid is too smart for his good #additional hcs for Back In That Day #Yelan: -still hasn't gotten her signature bob. -often uses a crutch because Abyss did a number on her and her pre existing chronic illness #Kaeya- has a fuckass mullet #yeah.. my apolocheese for the ramble #genshin impact #genshin impact fanart #kaeya #kaeya alberich #yelan #yelan genshin impact #kms mention

Given what we've seen of Gurathin so far, while this was originally said about SecUnit, this matches Gurathin pretty well too. Both of them with their freedom so new, the threat of losing it looming so large, so scared that they're repeatedly hurting each other in the scrabble for control of the uncontrollable, for safety and feeling safe. Don't worry you two, you'll be off solving mysteries together in another 3.5 books XD

like, did y'all collectively sleep through "it's-a me, mario!", "i meant besides vaginas", ezio inventing the latte, bartolomeo's... just... *gestures vaguely* entire character, etc?

like, it's fine to have preferences of course, i myself prefer a more serious and grounded tone, but these are usually the same people who tout the ezio trilogy as "peak assassin's creed", call ac1 a glorified tech demo and hate on connor for being "too serious and boring", like? make it make sense!

legitimately feel tri would have been way better received (and honestly just a legitimately better series) if it didn’t treat the 02 kids like that

#sorry watching the first couple scenes knowing the context of what they actually did with them??? does in fact frustrate me a lot. it really #felt like they chose to build up a mystery of what happened to the 02 kids but the thing is like. they didn’t get rid of the 02 kids because #it would be interesting or they had a good idea around it. they did it because they just didn’t want to deal with them. and you can just #kinda TELL by how sloppily they were handled.#and like legitimately I do not envy their position because I do think discarding the 02 kids was the RIGHT decision because it’s already #hard enough to juggle all the original 8 and the movie characters but it’s just. man. MAN.#I will forever think that they should have gone with the option of the chosen genuinely believed the 02 kids died like a few years ago or #something. especially because I think that would actually HELP inform the way they did choose to handle the characters.#I know a lot of people hate how they made taichi a bit unsure… less steadfast… and the implication they go with in tri is just that as he #grows up he becomes more aware of collateral damage and danger. and I guess that’s FINE but. why not give him a better reason? I feel people #would be far more forgiving of how they wrote taichi if his hesitance was born from the fact that some of his fellow chosen have DIED. the #danger has always been there. he’s always had to deal with brushes with death. he has already experienced the loss of many good digimon but.#I feel like this would hit him different. the fact that his sister and Takeru would have died too if they hadn’t been busy that day… it #still haunts him. he knows fighting is what’s right but it’s becoming harder to ignore the danger everywhere - he doesn’t necessarily care #what happens to him but… what about everyone else?#I think also in general it would drive a bit of a wedge within the chosen - the ones who think they still need to fight no matter what -#that it’s their DUTY - and the ones that are unsure. the ones that are losing their confidence that it will ever end. the ones who want a #normal life.#THAT’S MY FEELINGS AT LEAST.#I definitely need to rewatch adventure and 02 to fully gauge how accurate I feel this thought process is but. this is my current thoughts #for how I want to handle tri and the 02 kids in YAoYD. if I ever actually. write it.#dramon thoughts

ultimately I'm not a tradgedyhead I'm umm a healinghead I guess. I like when things end up okay despite everything and characters find good things and joy and peace snd their lives again. obviously it's fiction but sometimes it feels like I need to know this can happen to like, make it from day to day

#I can handle tragedies if I'm not emotionally invested. like I recognize the artistic merit of a tragedy #and I know people enjoy the stories and find catharisis and feel seen by tragedies too #but because I feel seen I NEED to know they have a happy endiny #why I quit jjk with absolutely no possibility of picking it back up. like at a certain point #seeing a character who's gone through what you've gone through die in a horrible and pointless way #is just not good for me like. mentally 😭#so whenever I reccomend anything that seems intense or bleak it usually ends up okay #but I also have such a selective sense of narrative weight vs. overt grimdarkness #I like SOME danger and pain bc that's what gives the story emotional interest and drama #not enough abd it feels pointless and fluffy #too much and I have to step away. alas #but a LOT of media hits this sweet spot! a lot does!#cor.txt
