Having curly hair is some kind of terrible torture. No, I don't mind curly hair, it's a fantastic type, but every day I look in the mirror and ask myself: "do I look like a scarecrow or not? Should it look like this or not?". I hate mine, I wouldn't trade it for straight tho.

I also wonder what problems people with straight hair have to deal with?

Totally unrelated but as a poc with naturally curly hair i get so mad when other person, also with curls (*cough* curl police *cough*) starts litearlly shit talking and rating someone else's hair, like for example if a girl with fizzy/wavy hair says they kind of have curly hair THEY START BOMBING THE POOR GIRL, like please it's just a hair😭😭 almost 40-50% in the world has naturally curly hair you are not that special.

Okay, so I wasn’t sure where to ask this, since other than my brother, I’ve no POC friends. (Or any other for that matter. That’s another subject.)

So my father and his mama (I don’t know the rest of the family on that side…) has afro like hair, while my mum has silk smooth straight hair. Me, being creole (I heard it means something different to Americans but that’s what I’ve been called my entire life, idk what else to call myself), I have the mixture of the two, very dry, very frizzy hair.

And no, my hair routine does NOT need any more steps and care. Like I know all those “don’t do this or that” bizz, like “don’t put shampoo directly onto your hair” etc. I now need things I SHOULD do. I’ve literally been going crazy since I was a pre-teen, being bullied for my hair.

I’ve always lived with my mum and she always handled my hair like she handles hers. We don’t have hairdressers for any other hair type other than Caucasian hair, so they usually just either iron it, or do the usual routine. So even then my hair ends up being the same mess. I tried getting silk hair bonnets, but they’re not available in any physical stores. And I don’t know which online site I could trust…

Do any of you have any pieces of advice? Or maybe tools you’d recommend using?
