Seger literally said herself in the HT coverage for the China match "My days are numbered, believe me". If she feels she can't contribute as much on the pitch for Sweden she'll say that to Peter. She won't be selfish in this. She's an amazing captain and wants what'll be best for the team. During warm up for the semi against Japan at the World Cup 2011 she benched herself due an injury issue. She felt there was no way she could play and be of use for the team.

When a player is doing warm up she's there to start. Gone through all the day game preparations mentally and physically. It takes a lot to take yourself out of a starting line up when all you want to do is to play the game and it's what you've been fully focused on for the last couple of days. Seger is a super professional.
