Time spent with Kita was always blissful ever since you started dating. The cherry blossoms fell from their branches and swayed down onto you both, painting a scene where he stood in front of you.

You always knew him as the sweet and demure friend who’s involved with the volleyball team. Recently, you’ve been noticing the hints Kita’s been dropping around. ‘I can walk you home..’ he’d tell you when it’s getting late. Or ‘Here you can have mine’ when you really wanted something that he has. You find his gestures of kindness tugging the strings at your heart. However, you couldn’t tell if he was his usual good-natured self or if he had true feelings for you the more you got to know him.

It was until that day before he went off to volleyball practice. Kita’s finger gently tapped on your shoulder, inviting you to walk home with him after school, knowing you also had extracurricular activities. Nodding at his subtle request as you usually end up walking home with him.

He made it to the front before you, changed into a plain black tee and shorts from practice. Kita’s standing in the middle, fiddling with his fingers when he heard your shoes clank towards him. His dull brown eyes lit up at the sight of you when he tilted his head up.

“Sorry Kita! Did I make you wait long?” Caught up to him, his complexion is more pink than usual. The energy was a bit off and awkward but nonetheless it’s always comfortable silence, just not this time.

“No, I didn’t wait long,” Kita began to slowly walk down as you picked up his pace while making small conversation with him. ‘How was practice today?’ were some things you asked him, he replied with short clear answers this time.

Coming to a halt, a few inches behind him. His head twisted to gaze into your glossy eyes as he swallowed deeply. You’ve never seen the calm and collected Kita act like this before, it was as if  something was eating him inside. He’s biting down on his bottom lip, as his eyes surged for words.

“I like you.” Time stopped for a moment while you digested his words that rang louder than the last school bell. His lashes fluttered down, thinking the gasp of shock you let out was a negative reaction towards his genuine feelings.

“I understand if you don’t feel the same way–” You cut him off with a warm hug that wrapped around his broad shoulders, altering his sorrowful face in surprise. His big hands catch you and pull you tighter in his embrace. His face in your hair, sniffing the scent of shampoo.

“Does this mean.. That you like me back?” Kita’s pulling you away for a brief moment by your shoulders to glance at your face which was now a tint of pink. His blank smile, turning into a broad grin as if he had won a volleyball game when he asks you this trivial question.

“Yes it does! I always had these feelings whenever I saw or thought of you.. I really like you too,” you’re beaming through your lashes that bat from happiness.

Ever since that small gesture that triggered the event that led to your blooming relationship, you’ve been dating ever since. Of course you both had your own separate lives, especially on campus as you both enter your third year. You guys were rarely seen together now that you were put in different classes as your high school careers continued to grow. 

At the end of second year, he was crowned captain for Inarizaki’s boys volleyball. You couldn’t be any more prouder, but that also meant that he’s going to be even more occupied with volleyball especially with his teammates. These challenges didn’t stop the way you both had an amazing and healthy relationship with each other though. You both promised to communicate everyday whether or not it’s a simple ‘Have you eaten?’ text or a late night phone call, sometimes you guys would meet up when your schedules aligned for some time alone with just the two of you.

You both were pretty discrete when it came to revealing your relationship to others. Especially Kita, he’s more focused when he’s just in the moment. If something comes to mind, he’s bound to bring it up. But when he’s all busy trying to strategize for his team, that’s all he’s gonna be thinking about. At some point you do cross over his mind, usually at the end of practice or an official game.

Kita hasn’t even said anything about dating when it came towards the volleyball team. That was until him and the boys were all changing after practice. The Miya twins are always bickering, but both decided on a delicious place to get food after the team leaves the lockers. They both craved some fresh hot food and wanted the team to come along to celebrate now that Nationals were over.

“Mr. Perfect Kitaa, let's get some piping hot udon once we leave!!! The whole team’s goin’ tonight,” Atsumu’s voice shouted from the other end of the locker room. Immediately turned down with a single hand gesture, as Kita slips on his shirt over his head.

“HUH?? What are ya doing after practice today? Y’ur usually always available!” His loud whining echoing off the walls, while the others are staring back down at Kita.

“I’m seeing my girlfriend today.” Kita’s cold voice froze the whole locker room. Suna’s ears pointed, listening in on the conversation from his head inside his locker. The room radiated with absolute silence, as if waiting for the volleyball to be served across the court. 

“YA got a girlfriend?? When did y’all start dating? Kita, WHY haven't ya told any of us??” Everyone’s eyes and attention were all pointed towards the team captain, darting him in shock as they all tried to process this information that Suna didn’t even know.

“Well you guys never asked–” Everyone’s astonished face rushed towards the half naked Kita who just wanted to put on his pants. Ears are all open ready for his story. Suna’s on his phone, recording the moment as if he were Inarizaki's news reporter.

Atsumu’s expressive face was still stuck in an ‘oh’ waiting for Kita to speak more on his relationship. But right before Kita was able to part his mouth Atsumu’s curiosity got the better of him.

“Don’t tell me Kita… ya got y’er first kiss before I did...” Breaking the intense silence that erupted in laughter. Kita’s thankful for the light weight air that broke through, flashing a smile thinking about where to start with your relationship and how you even met.

“Um.. yeah” looking up at Atsumu to answer his statement, smiling with his eyes while he’s thinking about you. Everyone in the locker? They were beyond gagged. Kita was the first in the group to date, which was shocking considering how Inarizaki’s got the popular Miya twins.

His phone vibrates inside his metal locker, you were calling him to know that you just wrapped up your extracurricular and are now heading out towards the front. Of course, his teammates were dead silent trying to peep into your call. 

“I’m leaving first, I don’t wanna leave my girlfriend hanging” dragging on his coat, fixing the collar before zipping it up. The team’s heads rotate while he grabs his bag on the way out of the locker room.

“We’re definitely gonna spy on him, right Osamu?” was heard on the way out, followed by a “Lets go.”

You’re standing at the front on your phone waiting for your boyfriend Kita, until you hear his voice call out for you from behind. The closer he walked, the more he picked up his speed. The faster he went, the closer he’d be with you. 

“Kinda got caught up with the guys again. I thought they knew we were dating, but I guess not haha.” Kita’s smile is brighter than the sun while hands entangle with yours. But you sensed something that he also brought along with him. 

Peering behind you for a quick glance, you saw the whole volleyball team behind the school building. Especially the one with a phone, and two slick foxes that quickly ducked out of your vision. You thought this was silly and cute, clinging onto your boyfriend’s arm contently before parting your lips to let out a little giggle.

“Hehe, did you notice that you’re getting tailed right after you left?”

Bojunyixiao’s Weibo night 2023/2024 🎉🎉

can you believe we’re here again. no matter how problematic sina weibo is as a platform, their awards night is a day cpfs look forward to because our boys will be attending. even if we know they won’t interact or anything, the fact that they get to attend the same event is enough for us.

i will just include the recap for the past years on here, the 2019/2020 being very short cause i feel like that has been widely speculated and talked about already. then 2021 and 2022. this post will discuss the event and stuff that happened + some commentary + cpn clownery. enjoy!!!!!

I. CPFs team building and showing strength

It would not be fair to exclude this feat that cpfs achieved with the free tickets for Weibo night. Even if we had no idea if both of them will attend, cpfs tried to grab tickets just in case it happens so we will be prepared. In the first round, we surprised all other fan groups with how we dominated and it set the rhythm for the next rounds. Trust cpfs to set the trend and make other fandoms “wake up”. lol. They can say what they want about cpfs but we all know that part of the hate is because they do not understand why we’re still here. They don’t get why we are this strong and a happy group.

My favorite thing that happened was when the top profile photos spelled out BJYXSZD + heart with a mole. It doesn’t stop there tho, the next week/round, we still dominated so Sina Weibo tried to save face by doing some tactics to suppress us. Nevertheless, every week, more of us got tickets because of the help of our little turtle fandom.

There were also efforts to get top comments on Weibo Night posts but I won’t get into that anymore cause we usually do that. But the thought of showing strength “online” as what the boys advertised is sweet.

Years later, we are still as strong as ever and shall remain that way. and that’s all thanks to each and every turtle out there who chooses positivity & makes sure our community remains a safe space.

II. The anticipation and announcements

It’s safe to say that this year, XZ is a sure attendee cause he always tops the voting at this event. However, some were still not sure cause he did not attend other public events last year like 10c starlight or NYE events cause he is busy with filming his projects. On 1/10 evening tho, a rather unsavory rumor made it on HS which was a signal that weibo night was getting desperate and wanted some noise for their event. lol. maybe there are other parties involved, but the intent is the same. I will also just mention the issue that happened on 1/9 with Chunzhen and them withdrawing lottery tickets supposedly won by certain fans. But the next day, Weibo lottery decided to honor the win and gave the tickets. I have no reaction to this tbh, and that’s why i didn’t talk about this separately and at length on my blog. It’s the brand / fandom that i have nothing to do with’s issue. As a turtle, we all know how CZ is with certain things so i’m not surprised that this happened. LOL.

I honestly feel for XZ, he is out there working hard and minding his own business but people and circumstances keep dragging him into irrelevant incidents.

As for WYB, everyone thought he wasn’t gonna attend. This is the same energy as last year. People are busier with grabbing tickets for his SDC6 finals and completely ignored weibo night ( as they should ). There was still some hope tho, cause if you think about it, he attended a lot of platform events. Tencent, IQIYI, GQ MOTY and 2 NYE shows. So why not Weibo Night? I have said it before, but one thing that I loved about WYB attending multiple events by the end of last year was it’s a show of his position and professionalism in the industry. He can go anywhere and be welcomed — he has good relations with almost everyone and that is important in their industry.

I know he is not fond of public events, but i’d like to think he says yes because of his professional relationship with these platforms/companies. I was never a fan of when people flex that their fave “will not go to xx because they did something to him etc.” LOL. That’s not how any industry works. You can’t burn bridges and I’m happy that WYB doesn’t do that. It’s also a testament of how much of a good boy he is 🤍

Anyway, back to the timeline. On 1/10, Weibo announced some winners and the boys are on there. I guess One & Only winning was a clue that WYB will go. Then a so/o account gave a tip that WYB will announce his attendance to an event on 1/11 @ 13:00. So by the evening of 1/10, it was mostly confirmed that WYB will be going.

The next day, 1/11, Weibo Night account started posting emoji clues for the remaining celebrities to be added in their guest lineup. A few hours later, both the boys announced their attendance. What’s different this time tho is aside from the usual copy-paste caption, there is a reminder for everyone to not do any fan activities at the venue. more details was also added in the comment. I guess they don’t want a repeat of what happened last year with the crowds. It caused a delay & cancellation of the red carpet. Both XZS and YBO reposted with more guidelines to follow like no gatherings and light signs etc.

The BJYX ST mods also sent out a message to not do any offline support.

There are more fandom drama after the announcement with other groups but i won’t add that here anymore cause it will only rot our brain. && it’s so much better to focus on the boys!

III. Pre show discussion

On the eve of Weibo Night, GG attended an awards show and it gave us some sweet candy. The most interesting to me is the choice of Alexander McQueen and the first two celebrities tagged by the brand on their weibo in 2024. This is giving me Dsquared vibes. Also how it almost mirrors the wedding-ish vibes they had last Weibo night. I know we as cpfs are somehow programmed to seeing connections but honestly, they don’t make it hard.

Late at night too, Weibo started showing opening screens of attendees and of course they didn’t put them in the same group/frame. This is understandable cause they wouldn’t put the top male celebrities together and knowing how both their fandoms hate each other. Also, how the grouping went, WYB’s was more of the “movie group”. That won’t stop me from being a bit better tho. lol. Cause if they can’t put them in the same frame like that, there is just no way they will be on the same stage or even sat remotely close to each other.

A photo from inside the venue also showed the projected commercial on stage is WYB & Chunzhen 😂😂😂😂😂

I can just imagine XZ smiling when he sees.

There were also talks of the both of them being on the second row. XZ was already seated way before the ceremony started, and their names are so close but cpfs were anticipating since WYB was not inside yet. We were all waiting to see if it will happen. WYB is supposedly next to YZ but then we see that Jackson sat there. We joked that he should stay there so WYB’s place will be taken and he will have no choice but to sit next to XZ 😂😂😂

IV. Red Carpet shenanigans

I honestly didn’t get the whole look tho when some people pointed out that it’s the glam version of what he wears when he plays golf — i kinda got it. For his past platform events like GQ, IQIYI & 10C, his red carpet were really casual. I guess that’s what he wants — to be comfortable walking the carpet. There were also some praising him for going against the norm. Well, I have to say tho that his face really stood out. Minimal to no make up look. He was so handsome! 🫶🏼

I love his outfit! It’s black but still got that something special to make him stand out. &&& I honestly love the hair! I thought I would cry because of how short it is now but it suits him. I mean, he looks gorgeous in anything but you know what I mean ☺️

CPN: XZ signed his name beside/very close to WYB. granted, there are so many signatures there but i’m wondering if he recognized his husband’s signature. lol. In this simple way, they can be next to each other!

VI. THE SUGAR RUSH 🍭🍬

• WYB’s personal post of him and the caption. The freakin caption. Look, i know that WYB’s brand is all about being the “cool guy” so maybe that’s why he said in the caption that he likes the HS about him. But the thing is, it’s totally out of character. How many events did he attend with him going so high up the HS with much more interesting tags but he chose this? Also, he really needed to do so that he used his own account??? For a couple of years now, yibo-official is the one that posts for him when he is at an event. So the speculation is this one is personal and amused him so much, seeing that their HS for the same event they are both at matched! Also, when WYB posted that, CPFs flooded the top comments! Understandably so. 💛

• The signed photos which i’m not sure about. I actually saw someone post that earlier and people were clowning about how it can’t be real.

But then, an account posted a giveaway with all the other attendees and it included the couple photo. I’m putting this down as clownery, cause on their end there will always be deniability. The autographed photo was also deleted by the account a bit later, which is actually expected cause it will bring trouble. lol.

• XZS and YBO matching again! Look at how they arranged the photos. How a few of the snaps are not in theme with the rest. Nothing new here!

• The same song and dance of them missing to see each other. As soon as XZ was gone, WYB came in to sit down. Good thing he had Jackson to talk too a bit and he was gone again after 10 mins! Hopefully they could spend time together backstage away from the cameras. 📷

People are pointing out that XZ was checking his phone lol. probably checking if WYB is giving him a signal to leave so they can do their usual operation. These two! Honestly!

• Not really CPN, but a similarity. In the red carpet, both of them didn’t do the “activities” that others were supposed to. If you watched the red carpet, there is a point where they have to choose something from a wall with numbers. there is also a choice to take a photo from one of the “themes” by they both bypassed it. I was rolling my eyes cause a WYB anti was trying to make a big deal out of it, but then XZ did the exact same thing. Some people just don’t understand how celebrities like them operate. Not to say that they are above everyone else, it’s just that they do things differently.

• ZSWW fake rumor account posted at 19:21. At this time the red carpet was already finished. It doesn’t say who is saying which line. I’m interpreting this incident to be something that happened today backstage 🤡🤡🤡

• There is a photo/video of XZ talking to Huang Bo! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! and now we’re thinking about how they haven’t cooperated with each other but seem familiar. Yes, we don’t know all their relationship and friends off camera but my mind immediately went to the SDC 3 clowning. That’s most likely when they became close. lol.

• Heaven’s choice cause WYB was sat at #23 ( Love Zhan )

• This time, both of them left the venue after they received their awards. XZ didn’t stay like he did the previous years. Good for them! It’s better to spend time together 🤍 I know that most of us expected what happened today, them not being in the same place at the same time. Tho some may see that in a negative way, I actually see this as an example of trying to keep their private life separate from the public. Tho a big part of their lives are on camera and that’s how they met. I think what they are doing is really to reserve the time they have & are seen together in private. Maybe some can’t see it that way and will be frustrated but at the end of the day, we have to respect their choice.

• XZ’s 2nd outfit is by Balmain! He tends to wear this at events that they both attend 🥹🥹🥹

• It’s now XZ’s turn to see the cpf headband light signs! Lol. I hope he saw it. We all know that he is near sighted sooooo….

Hi ! Thank you, I'm excited too XD Can't wait but still lots of work to deal with.

Nathaniel is, of course, a bit of all those versions you meet through the game.

He is a good person, no doubt about that. And you meet this part of him in HSL. But you also learn he is not always an angel neither. It's specifically pointed out in the episode when you learn a bit about his and Cas' childhoods, where you learn he could be a meanie with his sister. So at this point, he is still a teenager and his father has been controlling him so much that it makes it impossible for him to experiment and experience during adolescent crisis (to name it like that; things lots of teenagers can do at that stage, like they will stay outside after curfew, some might try a bit of alchool or smoke, have bad frequentations etc... ) -Read this with a grain of salt, I am not saying that IRL all teenagers do this, or that they have to do that etc... Just that it is a common development stage for most youngsters- So as young adult in CL he gets all this freedom and the possibility to try all those things but with no one to help love or guide him (like any good parental figure is supposed to do). So as we say in french, he is in "roue libre", kinda out of control, and it goes too far. (I imagine it came gradually of course, not everything all of a sudden.) -Here again, it is something that can happen, and that you might have witnessed if you have had friends with very severe parents, they sometimes snap when they reach majority -

By LL he is much better, and starts to find himself but he still has lot of patchup to do, which can explain a bit of chaotic behaviors at times. But he is a good boi, and at the end of the day he will be fine and will keep bettering himself, both for him and Candy. (It’s also mentionned he started to see a therapist to help him in this process.) -side note : I sometimes see comments of people who are angry at a character for reacting this way or that way. I would just like to say that for a same event happening to 10 people, all those persons can react and deal with it very differently, (sometimes even in opposite reactions). The way you might deal with whatever event or trauma is valid, but it is not the only universal way for all -

Ao no Flag (SERIES FINALE SPOILERS!!)

Seriously, don’t read this if you are planning to read Ao no Flag. That being said, go read the manga now!!

Finally finished reading Ao no Flag and I have so many feelings. Non-coherent, rambly, messy feelings. I was looking at reactions online and what mainly boggles me about the reactions to the final 2 chapters is people being “how is Taichi suddenly gay??” My friend living on this big planet he never was (he’s bi). He most likely just realized it later in life. Did the events of his 3rd HS year help him figure it out? Heck yes. Is he suddenly bi? No.

Not all queer people pop out into this world and instantly know they are queer. Heck, it took me 23 years to figure that out. It’s not like Taichi instantly realized he likes Touma and started dating him. He knew Touma mattered to him somehow, but it took him multiple years to realize how, as evident by him maybe starting his relationship with Touma after 5 years when Touma contacted them all. He gained life experience and grew.

People go through a lot of learning, unlearning and growing. Especially if you are outside of societal expectations and norms. Taichi grew up learning to and wanting to blend in with society. “Be normal, don’t stand out too much”. Add to that low self-confidence and you feel stuck. Feel like there is only black and white. only one right answer to life. It can be very difficult to look out of this dark box, trust me, I had a tough time and sometimes still do. But it feels like Taichi thought and thought and pondered even back in high school and came to the decisions that he did.

And isn’t that what the series is about? growing as a person, making mistakes, learning, allowing yourself to be visible and vulnerable, and eventually, making choices, even if they don’t make sense to anyone else, and continuing to do so?

These two pages really hit me hard and I was wondering why. And then it hit me. This is possibly the happiest I’ve seen Taichi be since his childhood. Like genuinely happy. He’s reached max happiness points and is sharing those with Touma. He’s made his choices, and he’s happy. You can and are allowed to choose what or who makes you happy.

That’s all that matters.

but its a conversation i just cant have tonight is like tony asking him about ggy, but gregory dismissing it or ignoring it because of the shared trauma they have, and he wants to try move past it despite tonys insistence

in your place were a thousand other faces this would go with gregory and his inability to remember the exact faces of tony (and ellis), and all of the counsellors and everyone ggy encountered during the time he used his body

i was disappearing in plain sight this is gregory living at the pizzaplex - he’s missing, but in plain sight, as the pizzaplex is a big and crowded place, so if any of his friends were to go there, theyd have a chance of noticing him

would you leave me if id told you what ive done? it kinda goes for both of them, but mainly gregory - when he'd remember the actions ggy took, he'd obviously feel guilty and would think everyone would leave him because he was dangerous. i think this also applies for tony, but only after he realises how much of a jerk he's been - gregory wouldnt remember everything, so if tony told him, he'd be afraid of his reaction

In the absolute gamble that Homestuck will still exist and be usable in 2031, I've scheduled every post for this project (or saved to drafts when the queue overflowed) so it's ready to go on 4/13, 69 days from now.

Homestuck ran for 2557 days (7 years including 2 leap years), but the comic was only updated on 1161 of those days. On each day with an update, there will be a post detailing the day's pages, numbered according to update days. So, 4/27/24 will be 'Homestuck Day 13' as 4/27/09 was the 13th day with an update, despite being the 15th day of actual time.

These posts will be tagged #homestuck replay and #homestuck. (I will not be using the tag 'upd8' due to actual, present day upd8s of Homestuck: Beyond Canon).

There will be other tags for other posts, like reactions and analysis and fanart, which I'll figure out as I go. No posts on this blog will spoil the comic beyond what's in the most recent upd8 post.

HS^2 reread till p407 - reaction post

So, in preparation of Homestuck 2 restarting, I’ve reread the whole first few pages.

First I reread the epilogues recap page, then the story proper up until page 407.

It was a good refreshener, because a lot of events were already gone from my memory or very vague.

Which, given the nature of Candy Earth C, is rather appropriate, heh.

Reactions under the cut!

That Dirk called his ship Theseus may say something on how he views his mission.

Then again, he declared himself the villain of the story.

page 4: he called authors alliterative, I wouldn't really call 'AH' that, nor his full name.

Rose really goes hard on the 'being a robot' thing. I guess between Aradiabot, Jadebot, and AR, it was time for someone to unequivocally enjoy the state.

p5 : Cool to see his 'omniscience' is only pseudo, like Doc Scratch' was. He didn't know about the missing landing gear.

Hah, and Rose still sees Dirk as heroic. Pretty blind for a Seer of Light.

p6 : OOh, I still had dark mode on, I realize. Let's change that 'n return to the old format, it influences the feel of the story, especially Dirk' bright text.

p9 : You know, it feels like a missed opportunity not to command him to shit his desk.

p12 : Okay, pretty sure I didn't spot Jade's mug on the well, flower mug on my initial read. I own that mug, actually.

And oh yeah, it was a three-year journey to the new planet, nice parallel to the travel time between Universe B1 and B2.

Soooo, wait, we're getting back in muddy waters.

Jake is from the post-retcon timeline, where Vriska was on the meteor.

But the ghosts in the Furthest Ring weren't duplicated by the retcon.

If we assume they only met the post-retcon kids chronologically (for them) afterwards, there were a bunch of conversations that happened twice.

And Aranea's ghost 'survived' the Game Over timeline aka got thrown back to the Furthest Ring.

Still, it's gold to have Brain Ghost Dirk be his own self, distinct from ascended Dirk.

p47: "DIRK: You’ve spent years feeling sorry for yourself, totally convinced you made the wrong choices and that it’s all over. And it’s easier that way, isn’t it? If you’re a lost cause you don’t have to try to be better."

That's the challenge for the Candy timeline people isn't it? Continuing to try even if it feels like nothing matters.

Brain Ghost Dirk stopped correcting Jake there that he didn't actually was Jane's running mate, since he wasn't that Dirk.

Well, 'I' and 'you' could be seen as located between air-quotes, of course...

P54: Jake being hopeful again probably triggered the return of Brain Ghost Dirk  

P59, 60: The new kids’ quirks are something to get used to again  

P64: Almost seems like a Hope glow, around the car  

P70 : By shedding his purple sweater, we now see Tavros is dressed in layers similarly to Calliope & Caliborn.  

P90 : Note how she doesn't even really counted Jake as part of her family, there.

Meat timeline just really focuses on the cabin fever side of things.

p109 : In the story people & the appearance of them in other's minds is important. It's the same for the old Homestuck kids.

Who they are and who they were to us are two separate things.

At the same time, in story, who they are to each other is also very important. Brain Ghost Dirk's a culmination of that.

p114 : Dave really just drew the short stick there w/r his best friends' fates, didn't he.

And Bro still casts a long shadow.

At least it's good to see Dave is in a somewhat good place. Just a little sad he has to basically be a hermit apart from some close friends to achieve it.

p115 : So Karkat never really was close with Rose, interesting.

p130 : I wonder if Dirk started discarding things "pointlessly difficult and irritating" as a way to cope with his isolation growing up.

Roxy had the carapaces around, he only had seagulls...

And eesh, being your ascended self, as in, knowing full well what you'd do in any situation... Really kind of sucks, doesn't it? Not seeing room for growth for yourself.

p131 : So, recap: A2 was coded blue and had a purple game design. A1 probably had the reverse.

B1 was coded red and had a lime green game design, B2 was the reverse.

The C universe is coded white (see: the door they went through) and the game design will be cyan.

Meanwhile, Dirk and Rose's species might be associated with the color purple & orange.

Kind of makes you think of Prospit & Derse, doesn't it?

Makes you wonder if the trolls in A1 were also guided by their universe's gods, or not.

Now, back to the adventure!

You continue watching the monk for a few more minutes. He is a capable fisherman, easily baiting his line and casting well (far better than you, anyway). He pulls a small fish up, dropping it in bucket resting near him on the jetty.

You feel like this may be your best chance at a favorable introduction with the monks, better to at least approach one and see, rather than face down the monastery itself. Still, best to keep your true purpose here quiet.

You step out from behind the rocky cliff side and holler down from the staircase leading down into the cove proper.

"Ho there! Beautiful day for it, isn't it?" It wasn't a beautiful day really, but it seemed nicer than most on this gray, wet rock.

The monk turns to you, surprised by the sudden noise and then shocked when he lays eyes on you and realizes you aren't a fellow monk. That you shouldn't be here at all.

He jumps to his feet, reaches into his robes, and looks towards the monastery, seeing the rocky cliff side of the cove blocking the building from his view entirely. He's too far from the others for them to hear him, but he yells anyway.

"INTRUDER!"

He draws a crooked fish-gutting knife out from under his robes. You can see a crude tattoo of a siren on his inner forearm. This monk carries himself like a sailor and one who certainly knows his way around a blade. [Reaction Roll: 3 - Violent]

[Initiative: 1 (Odd) - Enemies act first]

"I've seen your kind before. Here to put me and mine in the dirt, take our lord's wealth, put out the flame. Good luck then."

He rushes up at you, quickly scaling the short set of stairs leading up towards the path. Why couldn't you have followed a more elderly monk?

He swings in at you with the knife [Attack Roll: 5 (under AV of 10) - Success, Damage Roll: 5-1 (for small weapon) - 4 damage] and connects, slicing away at some of your traveling clothes, nearly striking a deep flesh wound [You have 3 Grit and 6 Flesh remaining]. You know that if you try to pull away from him, he'll strike at you again [This is called a Free Attack and you can do the same to him].

[Because you took damage this round, you cannot cast a spell due to the time and danger involved. You can do anything else though. For the purposes of the Play-By-Blog, I am going to create poll options that are overall goals for the combat - so we don't have to play out each round week-by-week.]

I have to tell you about the dream I had last night.

The underlying premise was that orcs were invading. The undercurrent of tension for this played throughout the dream, like a mix between helm’s deep and those scenes with pipping before the battle of the pelennor fields.

Anyway. Because of the impending invasion, everyone had been conscripted. So we everyone of acceptable age locally was gathered in, what I knew to be, my high school auditorium. (I haven’t been in HS in over 20 years and I live about 1200 miles away from my hometown)

Now the fun part…

Marisha Ray and Laura Bailey were there, and I spend the entirety of the events trying to make sure that the 3 of us stayed together in the same groups, to make sure we were assigned to the same battalion and deployed together, cuz we were all like besties.

Full on, it was “Laura” and “Marisha” not Laudna and Imogen or Beau and Jester or anything. EXCEPT. We were sitting in the auditorium waiting for the people to give out instructions and briefing and all that, and Marisha sneezes and blows her nose. The seating was me, Laura, a couple other people, and maybe an empty seat, then Marisha. We here her sneeze and blow her nose, and then the people between us react with horror and disgust. So Laura and I turn to look and Marisha has black ichor mucus like Laudna. Laura and I fall out laughing at these people’s reaction because this is apparently 100% normal to us, and almost a running joke.

Then we go through the schpiel and are moved to the next section where we are getting assigned ration packs and shit. We were all handed these packs that were packaged like MREs, but in a very Japanese snack food way in white plastic and minimal wording with lots of colorful pictures. Ashley Johnson was handing these out. She couldn’t fight like the rest of us cuz of her spine issues, so they gave her a clerical desk job. These ration packs were the size of MREs or bento boxes or whatever, but were supposed to hold the same kind of shit you get in D&D starting equipment packs.

We were instructed to keep a couple rations in our pockets in case we lost our packs, we’d at least have something. So I pull out these tiny little like, spam cans that were the size of like, a 4 pack now and later. Each was supposed to have a serving of meat in it. I shoved a chicken, a beef, and a pork one in my pockets.

Then someone realized that these ration packs were class based. Like, they were labelled “ranger” and “barbarian” and each was a little different based on class. They were supposed to be handed out according to your class, but Ashley had just been giving everyone whichever one was on top. So there was a whole thing with that and people trying to decide if they needed to collect and reassign packs and shit.

Meanwhile, I’m still trying to keep eyes on Laura and Marisha and to make sure the three of us sit close enough in each administrative step to stay assigned to the same group together. But during the kerfluffle with the ration packs, I realize that I need to go to my locker to collect something I had hidden/stashed there. I manage to do that, find some hidden compartment or something behind my locker and bring back…I think it was a jacket, like a duster or something. One my way back though, I realize that I can’t get through the hallways anymore because they have had construction crews trying to fortify the building by bolting in these huge steel girder buttresses in the halls, so now they are blocking my path.

I started to try to work my way through a maze of halls and tunnels, but then the alarm went off, so…I have no idea how that was gonna go.

• “went to the world and help the people” - this is a pretty easy connection to them cause both of them are big on charity and helping people in general. it’s a message they both carry with them, being a “celebrity” is not the main reason they do what they do. they take acting seriously, and all the more, their role as public figures seriously. they make sure they bring something good to their audience and help them in that way too. i’m thinking about the recent hs connected to wyb and him paying for scholarships and — this is why xiao zhan fell for him. he saw a really good person that inspires him everyday. how could you not.

• “after a tiring day, sat around the bonfire and grilled the fish, the master listened to the little apprentice while..” - this was the part that got me really thinking about their relationship. it screams domesticity and to those like me who loved all the lrlg / fake rumors sharing glimpses of that part of their lives — then you know what i mean. even when they were on set in 2018 or doing press in 2019, there were a lot of just standing around and waiting but it was never boring because they had each other. I wanna say, those mundane moments were special because they were together. When you read LRLG, the exchanges are about their day-to-day life and lacks the “action” that most fan fiction about them have. I think that’s why lots of turtles love it cause it shows their “reality”. I see XZ agreeing to this because this is what his relationship is like with WYB. He loves the peace and quiet and being in that person’s company — no matter how tired they both are. Please let them have that relaxing camping trip already!!!!!!

• “this is deeper than any kissing and will make my heart move even more.” - i basically rephrased this part but the point of OP is, that scene of them in the first paragraph shows the two characters love each other and it moves her heart more than any kissing scene will. I hope XZ feels the same with the roles he takes and i’m gonna keep an eye out on the frequency of kissing scenes. lol. not that i have any problem with that but if you need multiple smooches to make people believe that girl and boy love each other then you have a big problem. I wanna say that this way of conveying love without explicit action is something GG appreciated in CQL. They both had to be deliberate in their actions to show what’s the true relationship between WWX/LWJ. 🫶🏼

How they always message each other during cql shoot and promos??? or even LRLG/Fake rumors, it has the element of telling each other about their day. Even as simple as the weather, or how the moon looks cause i wanna take a picture of it for you. The video. Photos. Voice messages.

• “seeing boundless love in the ordinary”- I think to XZ, there is nothing ordinary when done with love or with the one he loves the most. We joke about them being an old married couple — yibo learning to cook and knit, them buying home appliances, xz folding wyb’s clothes for him — but that’s just it. that’s the kind of love they have now. 🤍

Hussie/What Pumpkin is the one who hid the informations about Hiveswap development from the fans and backers who needed (until Ms. Z brought it up from Gio's article), fired the employees without notice and severance, sent Ms Z a *fake* legal threat, admitting on removing an employee's credit on Hiveswap because she trashtalked after got fired. Yet Gio IS the one who destroyed Homestuck? I bet you will blame the detective for discovering a case's truth instead of the perpetrator.

Literally nothing about the information that WP released about Hiveswap changed anything other than being specific about numbers and releasing a more detailed Timeline of the events that led to the closing of WPNY, which was explicitly stated to be tried to be salvaged, but finally closed because of the violent and dangerous behavior of a former member making work impossible. Between potential NDAs, and having to deal with the drama from this member, I do not blame anyone for not wanting to air anything out here?

Fired employees without notice or severance, and removed an employee's credit for trashtalking after getting fired are actually news to me, the last time I looked into it I thought the consensus was there were credits lost along the way from the switch between WPNY and WP because that whole situation was a hell of its own. Which is its own whole can of worms. And yeah WP did overreach and fuck up trying to drag Sarah Z into a legal battle they had no ground on. I am not saying WP have not fucked. But have you considered the bigger picture here?

The Fandom has been increasingly hostile since after Cascade. There's always been a prevalent decline in people's perception after Act 5 ended, things that peaked during the Pauses, the Retcons, and finally, Act 7 not bringing closure to things, and which ballooned out of control when the Epilogues dropped, and continued through the entire duration of HS^2.

Let us not forget the Fandom doxxing and sending death threats to two members of the team, until one of them left- A leaving which is widely celebrated among a significant chunk of the Fandom despite having been one of the most vile things I've seen any Fandom do. Let us not forget the immediate reaction from WP after Sarah Z's video dropped was the dread of harassment and death threats that were flooding their way.

Gio is not 'a detective cracking the case open'. Gio is a stalker who loosely connected dots to throw shit in WP's direction, who worked with an abusive ex-employee to make up things about development they weren't involved in anymore to back these points, and which was picked up by Sarah Z's video, further promoting their ideas to a wider audience and leading to WP fucking up tremendously under pressure and everything else that happened.

I'm not going out of my way to say that WP have done nothing wrong here, and I am not going out of my way to make excuses for the poor handling of things over the years by them and Hussie. And I admit, maybe I am biased! I've mentioned this before. I was in contact with members of WP during this whole time! I heard some sides of the story that aren't widely known! And I was harassed myself, for like, two entire years, because of this shit! So maybe I am blinded by my own biases and you're entirely right, who knows! However, I can, and will say that the decline of HS was not by the poor handling of WP, it was the fucking Fandom becoming one of the most toxic cesspits I've seen on the Internet, and driving away any good will and attempt at cooperation and reconciliation.

“Hey Shi… ki?” Mei stared at the scene before her.

“Mei.” Shiki greeted without taking her attention off her task.

“What… are you doing?”

“I am arranging numerous, two thousand and forty-eight to be exact, planks of processed petroleum in a parallel sequence such that when the first is set sufficiently askew, it will impact the second and produce a chain reaction among the rest.”

“Dominos.” Mei stated, carefully finding places for her feet so she could make her way into the science club room and closer to her friend. “You’re setting up dominos.”

“That is another method by which one can explain this experiment.” Shiki agreed.

“You’ve never struck me as the domino type.” Mei admitted.

“Perhaps. However, I deemed the task sufficient to test the dexterity of this device.”

“I see that.”

Shiki was wearing what looked like a metallic, bulbous backpack. Attached to this central bulb were multiple thin mechanical arms. Despite her best efforts, Mei was finding it difficult to unsee the contraption as a giant robot spider attached to her friend’s back. Knowing Shiki’s love of stag beetles and butterflies, Mei couldn’t put it past her that the design similarities were intentional.

Shiki held what looked like a custom-built console controller and wore her favorite set of green-lensed goggles. She was obviously using these to command the articulated arms to her bidding as they retrieved plastic pla… dominos from a stack on the desk and arranged them around the room.

Every horizontal surface seemed to be fair game. The bookshelves, floor, desk, central lab station, the equipment, like test tube racks on the station, display cases, windowsill. Everywhere. Mei even spotted dominoes placed precariously along the top edges of the blackboards. Shiki had also set up many connecting ramps, or rather mini staircases, Mei realized on closer inspection.

A normal human, setting one domino at a time, likely would have taken hours to complete this display. However, with eight arms deftly controlled by a determined Shiki, it likely took a matter of minutes. How long it took to design and build the device was another thing though.

“Ne, Shiki.” Mei said, finally reaching the other girl.

“Yes, Mei.”

“You said the dominos were parallel.”

“Correct.”

“They look pretty skewed though, with all the winding around.”

“They are parallel along their yaw axis.”

“Their what?”

“Vertical axis.”

“Ah.”

“The other axes are admittedly… cattywampus.”

Mei rolled her eyes at the mention of the nickname Shiki had decided to use for her in their online communications. She hated to admit how much she had come to like it.

“Complete.” Shiki stated.

“Impressive.” Mei acknowledged as she scanned the room again.

“Mei, would you like to set askew the first processed petroleum plank?”

“You mean tip the first dom… wait, you’re letting me do it?”

“Yes.”

“But… you did all the work to set it all up.”

“Yes.”

Mei felt something twist within her. She shouldn’t have been surprised. Shiki was always like this, putting in far too much effort for her sake. Even with something as inconsequential as dominos. And it made her feel…

“Alright.” Mei agreed before thinking too much more about it.

She reached over and tapped the first domino. A rapid series of soft clicks filled the room as the pieces began to fall in sequence. Mei watched in fascination as the reaction moved around each area, up ramps, over edges and even through a butterfly pattern she hadn’t noticed earlier. It was wonderful. However, what was even more lovely was the small, satisfied smile Mei noticed on Shiki’s face when it was done. And she realized she wanted more.

“Would you like me to help set it up again?” Mei offered.

“Yes.” Shiki replied as her smile grew. Cute.

And so, the two friends got to work.

Author's Note Continued: I really need to get around to making a primary fic for Cattywampus...

In any case, I'm really liking having Shiki delving her mental thesaurus to come up with abnormal ways of saying things. I do not readily recall her doing this much, if at all, in the anime, but it just feels like something she would do, specifically in the comfort of being alone with Mei. She's intelligent, and not afraid to show of said intelligence. And if she happens to get a rise out of Mei in the process, bonus, because flustered/annoyed Mei is cute.
