something about the tlou hbo show that im absolutely in love with is how much foreshadowing they're putting in everything!! the set design (ellie's space posters, the girrafe toy in ep 2, the girraffe poster in ep 6), the dialogue (THAT pun, ellie trying to guess her gift), the music (take on me!!!), a couple character cameos (dina, shimmer), and even extended plots like Kathleen's character arc......its all so saturated with little breadcrumbs that new fans and casual viewers might catch onto on a second watch, or remember in a future plotline, which is super satisfying, but the game fans? oh man. its so delightful, its like little gifts being left as treats for us. they couldve copy pasted the game sequences and left a lot of this out and we wouldve eaten it up anyways, but it just shows how this show was made with so so much love and care and respect both for their characters and their fans and im so unbelievably excited to see this season wrap up with a season 2 on the way

The preparations for my presentation on OFMD this monday are going sooo well it's going to slap

#i edited a few of ed and stede's most romantic moments to talk about subtext and queerbaiting (except the kiss obviously)#like i downloaded the episodes cut out the parts i needed put them back to back and tomorrow i'm subtitling it #the sound in the classroom is horrendous people are going to need subtitles #then i put it on the diaporama present it to my wall once or twice to be sure i've got it and send it to the teacher #and on monday i'll present my best masterpiece since the 12th grade botw presentation #we had to talk about the themes of travel and identity in 5 minutes #i did 10 on botw and the only thing the teacher said was #'that was double the time but it was impeccable' and i got a 20/20 #so proud of that thing #i'm aiming high for that one too #i kept the compil under 3 minutes #the scenes are stede showing ed his closet + you wear fine things well + run me through + the end of the bathtub + this is happening #for subtext. to illustrate the show is great because it's not mean to its viewers #i've got to keep the actual talking at 17 minutes or under and hooo boy that's going to be tough #i'm a blabbering kind of person. i chatter. i do not shut up once you get me started.#wow i have a ramble tag now

#undescribed #bonk.png #uninhabited planet survive #mujin wakusei survive #HOOO BOY this is extremely self indulgent bc i like fake episodes n storylines for things n sharla is my second fav of the bunch #before i forgot caption is a line from love me more by mitski n the dialogue is taken straight from wakaba's elevator scene in utena #just altered for the characters' genders obv back to yapping all the pieces were in place for sharla to have a jealousy subplot like in the #second half of the show (after adam is introduced basically) sharla n luna dont as much focus together with the secondary character to luna #shifting to kaoru bc of being more involved in directdanger all the time n sharla not being good at that stuff is relegated to the sidelines #which is something shes insecure about!! shes not as good at survival action as everyone else n doesnt have anything skills unique to her #she LITERALLY stops taking her rations of water so the others can have more bc she feels like she doesnt matter as much as the others!!#shes fairytale girl sharla which is good for morale (esp luna's) but not particularly helpful when theyve gone a few days with no food #she also is implied to have no proper friends before meeting luna in the first episode (at which point they immediately become ride or die)#with her only sort of friend being a girl she hung out with despite her being bullied n excluded who then left her for the bullies #n episode 17 is about her wanting luna to be able to rely on her with them sharing eachother's history of loneliness #the show also has a emphasis on their circumstances escalating emotions n causing them to lash out at eachother theres a episode right b4 #the winter arc where howard is jealous n lashes out bc hes used to being the center of attention but no on on the island really likes himdue #to him being a brat so he soaks up adam's attention like a sponge n freaks out when adam starts favoring menori #which is understandble n somewhat easy to digest n process but you know who has a more prominent history of loneliness n abandonment who is #also prone to insecurity n thrives on someone's affection? sharla n i set this fake story line during the space criminals arc bc it doesnt #really have a lot of character work n takes place right after the winter arc with both having the characters stuck inside for most of it bc #of more direct serious danger n sharla along with chako n shingo would be stuck inside the most BUT with the criminals arc chako n shingo #are actively doing something theyre contributing but all sharla can do is watch adam while luna her bestie luna is out dealing with people #literally hunting them with kaoru who is notably better than everyone else at the whole survival action thing has become closer to lunasince #the winter arc n from what sharla has seen has no flaws or weaknesses theres specific reasons as to why i dont think her negative feelings #would be focused on the others bc for varying reasons she wouldnt feel they threaten her relationship with luna (the rationalization for #bell not being viewed as a possible threat is interesting to me bc of the similarities between him n sharla both of them bonding early on n #her being implied to have a crush on him while he explicitly has a crush on luna but thats not what we're talking about rn)#but none of those reasons really apply to kaoru n she has the reason of Him Saying He Killed Someone to feel more justified in directing #all her stress about their situation n the anxiety crawling up her throat about luna potentially choosing someone else over her onto him

Shout out to the doctor who told me to lose weight at all costs. When I told her that I'd had brushes with binge eating and bolumia in the past and didn't think dieting more than I already was, was a good idea for my mental health, she straight up told me to check myself into a clinic for eating disorders and diet from there then.

She was a fertility doctor and held the chance of me ever having a baby over my head as leverage. Suffice to say my relationship with my body is a lot less healthy now than it was 3 years ago but I'm also hella pregnant?

they don’t teach people with EDs how to actually respond to diet talk because to do so would mean cultivating and embracing rage. you can’t do that within a medico-psychiatric industry that mandates compliance at all costs. I would very much like to start a workshop for channeling & expressing rage, including and especially toward carceral institutions and authorities, for ppl with EDs… like I want to teach you how to terrify your doctor

#dieting #eating disorders #the medical community has such a fucked up relationship with weight and food #and they really truly do not realise it #i think she genuinely thought she was doing right by me #this was literally the thing that drove me to bolumia the first time #at 17 my doctor told me I had PCOS and that if I wanted to up my chances of ever having children I should lose a lot of weight #i ended up hanging over the toilet with a finger in the back of my throat #and eventually realised that this was NOT what I wanted for myself and quit #had binge eating episodes before and after #and at 32 here we were again #i didn't purge this time around but hooo boy was it close #and I defo punished myself for breaking diet #and it's still a very real urge I have to actively resist regularly
