Contemplating my (frankly a bit fraught) relationship with exercise/being active tonight and realized—I never really saw "being active as an intentional and consistent choice" modeled when I was growing up. Like, yeah, we would go hiking when we were camping or snowshoeing occasionally on a Saturday or take a family bike ride around town, but I don't remember my parents being active (ie engaging in activities conventionally considered to count as exercise) on a regular, consistent basis until after we got our dog when I was in high school. Add that to "none of my extra-curricular activities growing up were very active" and the fact that I feel like I need to learn how to make a habit of being active suddenly makes a bit more sense.

While you were distracted, his free arm carefully wraps around your waist and pulls you closer to him while his hand that had been caressing your cheek slowly moves to the back of your head, combing through your hair before pressing you closer to further deepen the kiss. 

For a while, the world falls silent as he takes his time to embrace you, knowing full well that your time with him is as limited as the few grains of sand inside an hourglass.
