Thame already knows that Po is an overthinker, so he went into the phone conversation apologizing for not prioritizing Po’s feelings. He wanted Po to know how important he is to him, and not just because Po is helping him bring his group back together. He wanted Po to know he wants to get close to him. Thame is making Po feel love again after his ex treated him like shit. Po is literally twirling his hair and kicking his feet because Thame learned his favorite song for him. And all of this is happening before their dating era.
