Eddie needed a new bed. This tiny full sized was fine when he was single, but now that you were practically living at the trailer with him things were getting tight.

It was late when you got in. The long shift you worked today kicked your ass but you were grateful for the hours. Right now you needed out of your shoes and uniform and into Eddie's cozy bed.

You didn't bother with the lamp on his bedside table, not wanting him to stir if you could avoid it. Wayne was gone for the night so you striped down in Eddie's room, tossing your things in his hamper before heading to the shower to wash off your day.

Feeling refreshed and sleepy as hell, you lotioned up and threw on the night shirt you kept in Eddie's dresser for nights like these. As you got ready for bed you couldn't help but watch him as he slept peacefully. His chest rising and falling, bare and exposed to the balmy night air. The light snore rumbling from him might've bothered you once but it only reminded you of a softly purring cat. Maybe a distant thunderstorm. Wayne called it a racket, but you'd told him people in glass houses shouldn't throw..bricks

You smiled to yourself as you checked your alarm was set and finally climbed into bed facing Eddie. Feeling the dip in the springs, a half asleep Eddie reached out to pull you closer into his chest. With one arm around your waist and the other under your head, Eddie mumbled something you could barely catch.

"What's that, love," you whisper back.

"You didn't bring the sandwiches. I need two sandwiches."

You could hear the pout in his sleepyvoice and couldn't help the giggle that bubbled up.

"Sandwiches? You told me earlier that Wayne made taquitos." You thought back to the call you made on your last break at work. When Eddie told you that Wayne would leave some of their dinner in a casserole dish for you to heat up if you wanted it.

"Need my sandwiches. Meat. Picnic," Eddie mumbled into your hair before dozing off, softly snoring once again.

"Of course," you giggle under your breath. "Next time I'll bring the sandwiches. My bad, baby." Smiling, you press a kiss to Eddie's chest, his heart a calming rhythm under your cheek.

Okay so can we talk about how hilarious it is when Lex Luthor is a good dad to Kon? Like man made a clone son of his ex and said ex turns out to be a shitty dad to the clone son while lex luthor, known supervillain, is just a good dad.

Like: kon is feeling unwanted at clarks place so he just. Heads over to lex's and gets fathered while hes there. Kon gets bounced around like a child of divorce for a while before he ends up spending his time between the kent farm (ma and pa are literally the most important ever) and lex's rich guy penthouse.

Whenever lex and clark get into arguments about kon, lex is the one to actually think about whats best for kon long term. Lex doing lame dad shit with kon, trying to take him fishing and birdwatching and shit.

Just. The comedic potential.

Rewind Gift

I'm going to pretend it's still Christmas, and since unfortunately I do not have my chapters up and ready to go, like I did last year, in honor of Merlin's finale and as my Christmas present to you, I have one (1) paragraph from the next chapter of Rewind that I would like to share with you :D

[Arthur] wondered if that was how Merlin had always seen magic, as something to be explored and discovered rather than as a weapon to be used. He remembered Merlin showing him the dragon in the flames, when he first had to prove to Arthur he had magic. Arthur remembered the fear in his heart that day, the horror and dread in realizing that his dearest friend had been corrupted, had betrayed him, only to find out that it was Arthur who had been wrong. It still didn’t sit right with him, those few days before he had died. They turned over and over in his mind, a constant reminder of what he had to get right, of what would happen if it went wrong. 

And, also, because I really love you guys, here is the first paragraph of a 5+1 that I've been working on, which may or may not be dubbed as the "Mysterious Chapter Twenty-One" which deals with Arthur meeting/interacting with other servants in the Castle. :)

Arthur remembers the first time he met Gerty. Not in the past life, not in this life, but when he was a boy. He’d been taking food from the kitchen for as long as he could remember, always scared of the woman who could wield her ladle as swiftly and ferociously as he had seen the knights of his youth wield the sword. But while he had knowingly turned a blind eye to his Knights’ antics concerning the kitchen, especially when caught, Arthur himself had only been grabbed once.

Not sure when the actual chapters will be out (for the story at least; the 5+1 is still a bit off as well, although it may get posted during my "off season"), but I've got about three thousand solid words down and about another two thousand words of assorted scenes floating around, so I feel on track for getting it done before the end of the year. I hope this was a suitable gift, however, and Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!!
