you know anfortas, our best friend anfortas alberich, the regent king of khaenri'ah whose fate remains a mystery? anfortas is the name of the fisher king in arthurian legends, the one who guarded the holy grail.

apparently t.s. eliot wrote a poem titled the waste land that combines the legend of the holy grail and the fisher king. what caught my eye here is the footnote he made:

The Man with Three Staves (an authentic member of the Tarot pack) I associate, quite arbitrarily, with the Fisher King himself.

Much  like  The  Winter  Soldier  ,  Anya  went  by  a  codename  during  their  time  ,  &  decided  to  carry  it  with  them  moving  forward  in  life.  Using  that  monicer  as  a   weapon  of  𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑  now  that  she's  acting  on  her  own  terms.  That  of  course  is  a  Drekavac  ,  a  spirit  sometimes  seen  as  an  unbaptized  child  returned  from  the  dead  to  drag  their  parent's  souls  &  the  souls  of  others  down  into  the  afterlife.  This  isn't  really  relevant  aside  from  the  reason  for  her  𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂  sidekicks  if  you  wanna  call  them.  Her  precious  sweet  𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐒  ,  Kalask  &  Nikov.  These  two  beautifully  terrifying  pooches  ,  were  found  by  Anya  in  their  search  for  answers  about  their  abilities  &  those  who  would  control  them.  Genetically  modified  dogs  that  had  been  designed  to  protect  the  man  who  had  been  keeping  the  information  she  was  looking  for  ,  who  had  turned  on  their  abusive  master  ,  leaving  Anya  to  find  the  man  𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃  when  she  got  there.  Seeing  the  dogs  there  ,  &  already  having  a  𝐒𝐎𝐅𝐓  𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓  for  animals  over  people  ,  they  took  the  dogs  with  them  when  they  didn't  seem  to  want  to  harm  her.  Taking  them  home  ,  she's  kept  them  by  her  side  most  of  the  time  ,  &  they  are  the  animals  she  brings  with  her  on  most  missions  &  fuckery.  Now  ,  for  those  who  don't  know  ,  the  AK - 47  is  also  known  as  the  𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐎𝐕'𝐒  𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐋𝐄  ,  &  seeing  as  Anya  is  a  bit  of  a  gun  nut  ,  &  awful  at  thinking  of  any  names  that  aren't  Russian  ,  simply  named  her  new  𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒  the  split  version  of  the  name.

wanting to create a show about a band composed of college students who aren't. immensely popular. as they have around less than a thousand monthly listeners and less than two thousand streams (on spotify). but people know them well enough around their college. and in one of the episodes they get a tumblr poll made about them to the effect of "which member of [band name] is the hottest" and they completely freak out about it and do that thing that generally happens in shows where. at first they pretend not to care about it but then start fighting about it and at the end of the episode they just go. well. you know what. the end result doesn't matter. it's fine. but then the poll ends up to be very disproportionate and veer specifically towards the very limp and pathetic drummer who didn't think they'd win at all and then. everyone glares at them like they're going to kill them. end credits !!
