Trapper John, M.D. Masterpost

TL;DR, Trapper John, M.D. is a criminally underrated M*A*S*H spin-off that I'd love to see given a shot at redemption. Links to watch it are under the cut.

Since I've been talking about this show a lot recently, I thought it would probably be a good idea to make it easier to find, since it's fairly obscure nowadays.

If you've never heard of it, I don't blame you. TJMD is a M*A*S*H spin-off that ran from 1979 to 1986, with a contemporary setting and generally more dramatic tone but the same irreverent sense of humor and at times surprisingly progressive writing as its predecessor. It follows Trapper John McIntyre thirty-ish years after the Korean War, contending with medical mysteries and changing times as Chief Surgeon of a major hospital in San Francisco.

The series has few direct references to the events of M*A*S*H (in any of its previous forms), but it features a compelling ensemble cast of original characters that take many tropes M*A*S*H fans will be familiar with in new directions. Especially if you enjoyed the first three seasons of M*A*S*H, I highly recommend giving at least a handful of episodes a shot. The quality of said episodes varies wildly, but there are some true gems in there. (IMDb and Wikipedia links for more information!)

The only catch is, to date, the series has never been officially released to home media or any streaming platform, and I haven't found any evidence that it's still in syndication, so it's not the easiest show to track down. Luckily, all 151 episodes were recorded by dedicated fans, so the series is watchable in (very nearly) its entirety if you know where to look. I did the looking so you don't have to!

This Google Drive contains every episode of the series (with the exceptions listed below) in standard definition, plus my work-in-progress episode guide, highlighting episodes that are relevant to longer story arcs and offering a non-exhaustive list of content warnings for especially heavy episodes. (I'm looking for another place to host them but Google is the platform I'm most familiar with.)

Episodes 1x01 through 3x02 can be found in better quality here, remastered by a fan by combining footage from separate English- and German-language recordings of the series. It occasionally lapses into German audio with English subtitles as the German dub contains some scenes for which the corresponding English audio has been lost. Here is an alternate YouTube link with lower video quality but exclusively English audio, containing roughly 2/3 of the episodes.

Meaning of name: Gremlin = gremlin [creature in 20th-Century folklore blamed for aircraft malfunctions]; slobodorum = for Ed and Wendy Sloboda [contributors to paleontological discoveries in Alberta, the latter of whom discovered the original fossil]

Age: Late Cretaceous (Campanian), between 76.7–77 million years ago

Where found: Oldman Formation, Alberta, Canada

How much is known: A partial right frontal (bone in the top of the skull).

Notes: Gremlin was a leptoceratopsid ceratopsian. Unlike the better known ceratopsid ceratopsians (such as Triceratops), leptoceratopsids were relatively small (mostly around sheep-sized) and lacked horns. Although it is very incompletely known, Gremlin can be distinguished from other leptoceratopsids by the presence of a ridge running across the top of each frontal ("tr" in the figure above). It also fills a gap in time in the fossil record of leptoceratopsids in Alberta, being intermediate in age between the older Gryphoceratops from the Milk River Formation and the younger Unescoceratops from the Dinosaur Park Formation.

They lay on the sofa, room dimly lit by a lamp while the TV played their favourite film from childhood, the film they’d watch when he’d pitch up at her door when his home got particularly bad. She was always his refuge, from ages seven to twenty-three, nothing changed. Well, only a few things: she wasn't patching up his wounds anymore, the days of hissing at rubbing alcohol were over, no more fights, no more Oya. And because he had no other distractions, he could finally fall in love safely, build a life for himself, and live his domestic dreams.

Y/n’s fingers ran through his curls gently, nails massaging his scalp easily now. Two years before they would have been matted and knotted from fighting, and as kids they were untamable entirely. His ear pressed to her chest, listening to the rhythm of her heartbeat and melting into her body like wax off a candle. He’d always dreamed they’d turn out like that, still close and cuddled on her sofa as adults, too many close calls to losing her to another man, possibly someone better than him. 

“I can hear the cogs turning, what are you thinking about?” she asked, her voice soft and quiet, nails gliding down to his back and drawing patterns on his t-shirt.

“How much I love you.” He murmured with a husky voice, turning his head and resting his chin between her breasts.

She smiled, “I love you too.”

“No, I am in love with you. And I have been since you took me in for the first time and held me like this. When we were seven.” He unwrapped his arms from her torso, propping himself over her, hands either side of her head. 

“You remember that?” her hands delicately cupped his cheeks, rubbing the scars on his cheekbones and a smitten warmth blooming in her chest. His eyes scanned over her face.

“How could I forget?” his voice above a whisper, lip trembling and suddenly the room became hotter, or perhaps it was just his face. She didn’t speak, but she did smile and pulled him into her once again, burying his face into the crook of her neck and holding him closer than she ever had before.

A/N: 6 pages and almost 4000 words later here you go! Now this is actually my first smut so open to critics and opinions.

(Y/n) had noticed a few weeks ago Raph had been avoiding her like the plague, not only him but all the turtles were. When she questioned April on the situation all she could say was they were giving her the same treatment, Casey too. (Y/n) was now even more curious and determined to know why all the three human friends were being avoided, while April and Casey were more than willing to let the boys have their time away, she was not. Especially when she was dating a certain red clad brute, so being ghosted was not about to slide with her. In her determination she headed straight to the lair to get to the bottom of it all. Reaching the turtle’s hideout she was met with Mikey rewatching ‘Lost’, the orange wearing turtle enraptured by the show at first before finally noticing the human female standing at the entrance. It was then when he turned to her that (Y/n) noticed something strange about the happy turtle. Those usual bright blue eyes that had a habit of lighting up at first of any pretty girl instead darkened, the blue hue faded into deep crimson, like the river running with blood. It was honestly terrifying and left (Y/n) standing there in a stunned silence. It was Mikey who spoke first, really yelling for his older brother Raphael before jumping up from where he sat on the floor. 

“What now?! God you can’t seriously be hungry again-” Raph hollered, complaining about the youngest turtle's appetite as he left his room only to fall silent at the sight of the pretty (h/c). She looked over at him, meeting his eyes, pulling a smile from her at first before she remembered exactly why she was there. Recalling the weeks of avoidance that cute smile quickly fell into a scowl as she headed his way. An introduction to VR locomotives, part 1 of 7: Dv12

The Dv12 (nicknamed Deeveri, Kameli or Ruotsinlaiva, amongst others) is the most numerous Finnish locomotive class of all time, with 192 units built and 151 remaining in use. They remain trusted workhorses, being used both as a main line locomotives for freight and occasionally passenger trains, as well as shunters. For freight trains, it's common for up to three locomotives to be coupled together to get enough traction.

Strictly speaking, this class of locomotives was originally two different classes: the Sv12 class and the slightly heavier Sr12 class, which had a steam generator for heating passenger carriages. With the change of locomotive classification system in 1976, the Sv12 and Sr12 classes were combined into the new Dv12 class. The locomotives were built in four different groups: in 1963-68, 1971-72, 1974-80 and 1983-84. The first two batches were built jointly by Lokomo and Valmet, the latter two solely by Valmet after Lokomo had wound down their locomotive building division.

The very first Dv12, locomotive number 2501, was rebuilt into an electric locomotive in 1980, becoming Sv1 3201. The experiment concluded in 1984 and the locomotive was restored to original diesel traction.

Despite electrification of the Finnish rail network expanding radically, all Dv12's remained in use until 2009, and most of the class remain in use at the time of writing. The plan is for the new Dr19 class locomotives (that have entered service starting 2022) to replace the Dv12's during the current decade.

The top speed of the Dv12 is 125 km/h, the power output 1 000 kW and tractive effort 200 kN.
