Guianan cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola rupicola) (male), family Cotingidae (cotingas)

The Guianan cock-of-the-rock shows strong sexual dimorphism, with males having larger crests on the head, having silky filamentous feathers on the wings, and being far more brightly colored. Females are dull brownish in color, with a darker bill, and a small crest on the head.

The Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruvianus), also known as tunki (Quechua), is a large passerine bird of the cotinga family native to Andean cloud forests in South America. It is the national bird of Peru. It has four subspecies and its closest relative is the Guianan cock-of-the-rock.

Just the wings because I can't draw human anatomy worth anything (lmao).

I'll revisit these later and make the wings more accurate to their bird model. Just did this on a lil whim.

I HAVE SOME QUESTIONs bc it's been awhile since I looked through this blog (I dig the vibes but keep forgetting to see if you've posted anything new vwv'') and its funky fresh animals and worldbuilding.

Scrolling back through, I came across the Yak-cat, and was wondering if that was still going to be a thing? I know you've mentioned mountain cats are still a thing via them eating the Hearthfire Ptera bird's eggs.

Were the windswept(?) valley cats taking inspo from kangaroos legs, or hares? (and if you were looking for other fast things to possibly use as inspo, might i suggest springboks or african wild dogs if only for interesting coat coloration options)

Also, have you heard of the guianan cock-of-the-rock? It's a bird that's got such Goldspring vibes, (vibrant, colorful, very pretty), not helped by the fact that I keep imagining Goldsprings territory to be more tropical-forest like.

YAK-CATS ARE STILL A THING They think the Valley Cats are really arrogant and uppity. Unfortunately some of them are hot so like. What can you do amiright.

Some of their traders come by for Tradings though! The mountain goats on their territories have some funky horn shapes that the Valley Cats go nuts for.

Windswept kkkkinda hits a weird in between? Their full sprint is the kangaroo hop, but moving around normally they resemble rabbits a bit more (if you've seen that one video of the rabbit "walking" that's how I imagine it gfdh). Coat coloration I'm thinking will be less colourful, with paler coats in pastel shades and relatively few notable markings (they have woolly coats, and simpler coloration means for fibres they can dye to their hearts content (and also they can dye their own fur!))
