Calliope, Muse of Epic Poetry
Artist: Charles Meynier (French, 1768-1832)
Date: 1798
Medium: Oil on canvas
Location: Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, United States
Description
In Greek mythology, Calliope is the muse of epic poetry, eloquence, music, song, and dance. She is the eldest of the nine muses, the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, and is often depicted as their leader. Calliope is known for inspiring great poets throughout history, including Homer, Virgil, Ovid, and Dante Alighieri, and was often called upon for help when they were writing. She is also said to have given the gift of eloquence to kings and princes.
Calliope's name literally means "beautiful-voiced" and she is often depicted in art carrying a writing tablet and stylus, or with a lyre. She is also sometimes depicted with grapes, an aulos (an ancient Greek musical instrument), or panpipes, which may refer to her role as an agricultural goddess.
Calliope is also said to have been the mother of Orpheus, the most famous musician in Greek mythology. In some accounts, she is the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, and has siblings including Euterpe, Polyhymnia, Urania, Clio, Erato, Thalia, Terpsichore, and Melpomene. She may also have had two sons with the god Apollo, Hymen and Ialemus, and may have been the mother of Rhesus, king of Thrace, or Linus, the inventor of melody and rhythm.
Calliope first appeared in Greek mythology around 700 BCE in Homer's The Iliad and continued to appear until around the ninth century.

Michelle as Terpsichore:
Muse, Patron and Goddess of Lyric Poetry and Dancing 💃🏽🎶
Terpsichore  is one of the nine Muses, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, and goddess of dance and chorus. She is perhaps the most widely known of the Muses, her name having entered general English as the adjective terpsichorean (“pertaining to dancing”). In some accounts she was the mother of the half-bird, half-woman Sirens, whose father was the sea god Achelous or the river god Phorcys. Terpsichore is usually depicted sitting down, holding a lyre, accompanying the dancers' choirs with her music. Michelle was chosen as this goddess because she is a choreographer in her story, Seduced by the Rhythm.

Euterpe: The Timeless Muse of Music, Poetry, and Freedom
Euterpe, the Muse of Music and Lyric Poetry, stands as a symbol of artistic freedom, her melodies and verses flowing through the air, empowering and liberating. In the ancient world, the Muses were revered as the goddesses who inspired and guided human creativity, and among them, Euterpe stood as the embodiment of music and lyric poetry. Revered for her power to uplift the spirit and fuel…

Romance Club MC's as Greek deities:
Mia as Phoebe:
Titaness of Prophecy (and sometimes the moon) 🌙🤫📜
Phoebe was a Titan goddess with the gift of prophecy. She was one of the 12 descendants of Uranus and Gaea. Like all her sisters, she was never involved in the battle between the Olympian gods and the Titans. Phoebe, though not very well known on her own, is associated with many powerful aspects of Greek mythology. She was the elder goddess of intellect but is mostly known for her prophetic powers at the Oracle of Delphi. Many would argue that her legacy lies in her grandson, Apollo. Phoebe’s symbols include the Oracle of Delphi and the moon, because of her granddaughter Artemis. Mia was chosen as Phobe due to her history being intertwined with the moon and prophecies. In addition to being a predecessor of the books related to these elements in RC, just as Phoebe is of Selena and Artemis (and coincidentally the following MCs have the same name).
