Apollo design!!!

Apollo in God Games was the best 20 seconds of my life.

Anyways, taking into account that Helios is still God of the sun in Epic, for the design I decided to go more for the God side of prophecies, light, plagues, music, etc.

Maybe I’m weird, but Apollo as Lester reminds me of a hairless cat in a blue jumper. A hairless cat that hates the blue jumper and walks around stiffly, with those dull, angry cat eyes.

I was watching a video by Overly Sarcastic Productions about Artemis and Apollo... and it kinda got me inspired to do a design on Roman Apollo ^^;

Modern Media Agamemnon: The only absolute asshole in the team. Chilling in his tent wearing flamboyant clothing. Barely fighting and when he does he always has someone do the fight for him. Always speaking about women and sex not respecting anything and anyone. Being the greedy embarrassment of his team. Gladly would offer his own mother if that would mean his victory. Always compared to the worst type of scoundrels. One-sided persona.

Actual Ancient Agamemnon: Strong powerful leader who wears his armor and always fights to the front line of battle encouraging (or daresay provoking) others do the same. Respected by his peers and always managing to turn the public to hear him. Performs many mistakes due to abuse of power but always tries to rectify them. He would do anything for his family. He respects his enemies. Speaks a lot about his concubines but ironically he shows respect for some of them (he defends Cassandra's heritage to his wife). Always compared to the gods. Complicated persona.

post toa apollo is the type of person to arrive to the council meeting exactly on point down to the second and spend the whole thing smiling vacantly and giving the most vague non answers that are still somehow perfectly diplomatic and then leave also the exact millisecond it ends

Apollo who has platonic hanahaki for his family.

Apollo who started with olive branches and soon had an entire garden.

Apollo who loves so much he stops breathing because otherwise he'd cough up precious petals would have to confront what they mean.

Apollo who is inflicted with long fatal roots but continues on anyway, why wouldn't he he's a god

..until he's not.

Lester figuring out how lungs work again because in this new body he can actually breathe. He only reaches Camp before he starts coughing again and realizes he's on a timer.

His hanahaki can finally kill him and with his new body and quests a reminder that his family dont care back how could it not?

Day 12 - Eyes That Glow Gold

I've had this idea in my head for a long time and this is my perfect excuse to do it.

Here he is! I made a design for Asclepius so I had to make one for Aristaeus too 🐝

I think it's kinda funny that his mother, Cyrene, is a great warrior and she can defeat a lion with her bare hands (Apollo fell in love with her after witnessing that btw) while Aristaeus is just chilling there with his bees and sheeps peacefully.

And here's a bonus drawing with Apollo because if Asclepius gets one, his brother gets one too 💛

y'all wanna know what pisses me off? even if you don't, imma tell you anyway

I've been seeing it ALL over the place, but it's from all these pjo fans who never read toa, but then they somehow get it in their heads that jason didn't know leo was alive when he died? but he definitely did, apollo told him and piper pretty early on.

and then they get pissy over the fact that jason died, which is dumb. good stories aren't always the ones where everyone lives, and Jason's death definitely had purpose, even if you didn't like what it was - that's what a tragedy is.

but i'm over here literally begging people to actually read the series. and then it's just completely false information floating around that everybody believes right off the bat because they want to hate toa so bad.

just my two cents.

Hermes in Percy Jackson who lights fade in his eyes over time. Who arrived bright eyed full of mirth and as he got older slowly faded away in order to conform into Olympus.

Whose divine roles are all forgotten to become a mailman. He’s over worked and tired and hardly is remembered for anything else, at least his kids remember…sometimes.

Hermes who’s clearly is in dire need of help. Who is practically screaming for help maybe not literally but physical yet.. help never comes. The only one to remember who he is, is Apollo. Apollo has his own issues to deal with and Hermes is not on his radar.

when I'm reading toa fics and someone tells apollo that he's changed: a aaaaaaaaahhh

because I know, I know it's in character

but does the writer believe it?? and in which way???

because the thing about apollo i think, is that he did change in the trials but it was not in becoming a better person (it was about trusting and letting others in and finally giving up on zeus)

because he already was a good person when we meet him

and that's the thing

when we meet him

because he's already changed before

all these things people think his arc was about, all the lessons he supposedly speedran

oh he had that arc alright, he learned those lessons

long long before we ever meet him

like do you really think a god that supposedly narcissistic and shallow (NOT that I think those were ever his vices but that's the narrative they're trying to sell us) would ever act as he did??? change so much in just a year?? change so positively???? (because contrary to popular belief extreme pain and trauma do not generally make you a better person, especially not to a person with such a supposedly negative baseline personality)

he never struggles with or even LEARNS any lessons on morality, the ideas always magically spring fully formed because he already knew them he already has his own ideologies

what he does struggle with and has to learn is SINCERITY because THAT'S WHAT HIS ARC IS SECRETLY ALL ABOUT

and of course he has to vocalize his apologies since, well he never did say them

but make no mistake the apollo of at the very least the past century would have never done the things he's currently apologizing for
