Acid Rain

Sketch idea that hit like a freight train during a sleepy state of mind back in June of last year. Design Diaries: Unveiling the world of visual storytelling.

Graphic design, as the word suggests, is a craft where professionals help meet virtual reality. The field of graphic design is very competitive in today’s time. A graphic designer should always stay ahead of the curve and be up to date with the newest trends. Young and talented designers introduce creative ideas. 

Graphic design is the art of visual communication. A graphic designer should be high on creativity, technical skills, communication skills, time management, and a lot more other things. They drive inspiration from all things around them including, art, culture, and technology. 

A graphic designer is no less than an architect. They play a huge role in elevating a business’s reputation. Starting from the logo and branding to the infographic designs. From conceptualisation to execution, they play a pivotal role in making a business better than it was.  

The process of functioning for a graphic designer varies from client to client, the type of projects that you receive, and the creativity that a designer holds. First and foremost, understanding what the client demands of you- this is where one gets all the necessary information. One needs to understand the objectives, what the target audience is, and the brand guidelines. After understanding the brief, the designer must research and draw inspiration from all things necessary. Based on the research, the designer generates ideas and concepts which may include sketching and mood boards. Once the concept has been chosen, one starts to draft it, be it on paper or digitally. Now is when the real work starts, the designer starts to work in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or in design. This involves refining the work even more, experimenting, and finding out what works for the project, this may include colour scheme, typography, and layout. Once the designer is satisfied with their work, they present it to the client for feedback and revisions. This may include several rounds of revisions until the client is satisfied. Once the design is approved, the production starts. This might involve creating print-ready files or graphics for web use or preparing files for social media platforms. The final designs are then delivered to the client along with all the necessary guidelines. The creator must also follow up with the client to ensure that everything is working as planned and to address any last-minute concerns. 

To suit diverse client budgets and project scopes, graphic designers frequently provide packages at different pricing points. The following are various packages and corresponding costs that a graphic designer can provide:

Basic package(INR 2000-3000/-)- This includes the creation of a simple, text-based logo design and one or two initial concepts with one round of revision.

Standard package(INR 3000-7000/-) - This package has the creation of a logo design with much more complexity and details, multiple initial designs, and branding elements such as colour palette and font selection. 

Premium Brand package ( INR 7000-20,000/-) - This package includes comprehensive brand identity development such as logo design, colour palette, typography guidelines, and brand assets. The designer does extensive research to meet the client’s satisfaction in understanding its target audience and brand positioning. There are multiple concepts of design and rounds of revision. Lastly, there would be additional collateral designs such as business cards, letterheads, and social media graphics. 

Social Media Package (INR 1500-3000/-) - This includes graphics for specific social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. This package has the creation of branded cover photos, profile pictures, and post graphics. The pricing depends on the number of graphics involved per platform.
