Emptober day 5: Modern au

Gem: marine biologist, works at a wildlife rehabilitation center, everyone there has been yelled at by her at least once

Fwhip: engineer, he beat up Sausage once because he asked for help with his computer before trying to turn it off and back on again

Scott: professional figure skater. No elaboration. Accept it.

Shrub: Zoologist. Alternatively, that one girl in high school who disappeared in sophomore year and nobody has seen her but everyone knows that they were accepted by the local wolf population

Katherine: biologist, her room looks like a literal jungle

Pix: stay at home dad, if you ask him about his life you'll get the wildest answers and no one can tell if he's joking

Pearl: obviously a farmer, not even a question

Sausage: probably a cult leader tbh, at least a gang member

Joey: he's a member of the Tumblr monster fuckers, his job? Cryptid hunting. So he can fuck them.

Jimmy: he gets to be an actor just so I can make the joke about people accusing him of queer baiting

Lizzie: marine biologist, her co-workers are extremely concerned about the fact that she talks to the fish they study though

Joel: rapper. All his diss tracks are about fWhip, Jimmy is super supportive

It's been 5 years since Infinity Train premiered and I still do forgive WB for canceling and removing this and a bunch of other shows. I was hooked after watching it and was hyped for book 3, Amphibia, The Owl House and this was top shows of 2020 for me, I hope one day it would get revisited and revival but I'm down with anything Owen has in store.

I got fed up always see female characters being pushed to the side in fics to focus on the male characters

And my ladies need love to! So have this book I made because of that reason and out of spite

Also, I did the math, 78% of ship fics in hermitcraft are MLM, further more, when you exclude F/M and M/M and only include F/F only 41% of the total WLW ship category remains

And 65% of all shipping fics in empire are MLM, exclud mlm and flm and only 56% of the total WLW ship catory remains

How interesting!

In all seriousness, I DO get it, I mean, 95% of the members of both smps are male. But I also know the other reason there's more fics focused on male characters and ships rather than female characters and ships.

And why even when the female ship is tagged, they get side lined and put in the background in favor of the male ship

hehe I started this on day 2 of @lost-trio-week and will be posting it through the next week as I finish the last couple chapters! I am so excited to share each act of this deeply tangled up, unconventional metaphor of an AU. over 5 (I think) chapters, we're going to be unraveling 7-9+ years of pining and repression, so strap in! it's a long and winding ride! of course, so much credit goes to the talented luca guadagnino and the rest of the Challengers (2024) team -- much of it was completely altered for the lost trio's dynamics, but the whole concept of using tennis as a metaphor for love... trying to fit a triangle into the square peg that is tennis... there's plenty of video essays out there about this, and I totally recommend them. I've been changed by writing this.

Jason Grace-McLean is a tennis star. Piper Grace-McLean is his coach. Hi hi! I was wondering if there was more description on Grace’s character? I recall a line about her having pigtails, but what about her hair color? Does she have freckles like Nel? I was also wondering on what her thoughts on Alastor are in regards to the fact he’s been hanging out with Nel alot—I generally understand her opinions but was wondering for more insight! I love this fic, and I also find the supporting characters very interesting even though they aren't the focus :)

Here she is, Elizabeth Grace! This is her 1932 look, giving very much awkward teenager that hasn't quite grown up yet. You can see a peak of her 1933 look on the far right. Isn't she cute as shit? She also causes problems on purpose.

Grace definitely was SO excited that her uptight older sister somehow managed to befriend her favorite local radio host, though maybe that soured a bit as they spent more time together. To avoid condemning Grace to a similar fate of growing up too fast, Nel babied her and protected her from a lot. It was the two of them with Nel taking care of her for so long that she had trouble adjusting to her older sister having a life...but after Chapter 25, her attitude improved. Seeing that Nel isn't invincible kind of kicked Grace in the ass and she decided it was time to mature instead of masquerading as an adult in cosmetics and dancing shoes. She really welcomes Alastor being around since he brings Nel out of her shell (by whatever means necessary) and she LOVES Marie to death.

I can't wait to reveal what the future has in store for her :)
