Dogtaro + Cat Koichi + Danger Noodle Giorno. Giorno assumes that Koichi and Jotaro are also humans-turned-animals. He is Incorrect.
(Also add in Jotaro in Italy and now you have Passione being wrecked by a trio of very destructive animals and their five/six erstwhile caretakers. And Coco Jumbo, who is just Vibing.)
HESBVHAEBVHEBDVS B E T
oh my god that's hysterical tho. Like, Giorno is just Randomly Approached By This Big Fucking Dog Carrying This TINY Grey Cat And They're Both Weirdly Smart And Also Magic Apparently. He at first doesn't think too much about it, but is happy to have this new random companionship.......
and then he turns into a snake. And suddenly he thinks his new buddies are ALSO humans turned animals. He doesn't know why they sought him out, but he figures they probably couldn't deal with the guy who changed them and were trying to get more help
(he is a little upset he can't understand them as a snake, but then he thinks about it for a second and realizes Wait They're Mammals And I'm A Reptile, We Have Completely Different Ways Of Communicating and........ I guess he's not wrong?)
but also this is so funny, this whole adventure we have Giorno acting like "these idiots don't understand all the hints we're trying to drop, can you believe this guys >:/" and meanwhile Jotaro and Koichi are just......... Vibing Almost Entirely Unbothered. Sure Giorno being an animal is a little weird, but they doubt it's permanent and if they really need help they can always call the Foundation later to help them find the User
the Bucci Gang are honestly fascinated by these weird animals Bucciarati managed to find that wouldn't leave him alone. They think they're kinda weird, but they have Stands and they're also super useful in fights so....... they can't really complain. Plus, the big dog is super good at emotional comfort
also, Jotaro 100% carries around all the animals just because he can. Koichi rides on his head, Giorno is wrapped around his neck and he's gently carrying Coco in his mouth :>
also also, Polnareff is in for one HELL of a surprise when they reach him

Februabba day 12 - Secrets / Rain
I always thought Bucciarati would push Abbacchio away in their last days, after his body dies, because he knows otherwise Abbacchio will find out he's dead, and I guess he feels like being distant from him now will make it easier for Abbacchio to deal with his death when he's gone. (It won't).
@heritage-februabba
Comic text:
I know he's noticed me avoiding him, ever since Giorno and I faced the Boss in Venice.
"Ah—sorry Leone, I—"
"I just need some space right now."
Of course it hurts, being so cold to him. . .
"Leone?"
"STOP!"
"You should be sleeping in your own room, Abbacchio."
. . .
"Oh."
"It's for your own good."
"Right."
*click*
But I have to be. I can't let him know—
how cold I've really become.

Hey, Jovia ^.^ I’ve been following your blog for a while now and I absolutely ADORE it. Your rants and everything are literally my safe space, I’m just as obsessed with Bruno đŸ„čđŸ€§
I want to share with you something maybe less typical to your usual head-canons. It’s related to that scene where he ascends to the sky and he says sth like “I’m only going back to where I was supposed to be. I’m simply returning to how I once was”. Do you ever think Bruno might actually be a spiritual person? Not in the religious sense necessarily (but it might explain something, since he’s Italian and most likely a Catholic). But I find that scene quite symbolic to his character - let’s be real, it’s one of the most majestically-portrayed deaths in Jojo (might be biased, right, but can you not be when it’s about him? đŸ„Č). I like to think that he might have some faith - whether in some god or simply the universe. He shows this multiple times in the show, but I think his sense of faith and spirituality shows the most in his optimistic thinking. He sees the light even on a dark path (and, sometimes, he’s the light himself; to others) and tries to be moral, even in his area of “work”. If some kind of faith doesn’t drive him, then what else?
This turned into a long rambling. Anyway, I’m curious to hear your opinion!! Stay safe ✹
Hi!!! Thank you so much for reaching out!! It makes me feel incredibly honored that you think so highly of my blog and consider it a safe space đŸ˜đŸ©·
Ooh!!! This is a good one; I love getting all philosophical over Bruno.
Oh my god his ascension scene is fucking beautiful. I too think it is the most majestically-portrayed death in JoJo’s. Yeah.. okay. im Biased too
. Still though. I can’t think of a more beautiful death. And the SOUNDTRACK. Ascensione is so perfectly composed. It sounds like something Debussy would write. (It’s also in Ab major; my favorite key signature. đŸ˜© Ab major just feels
so emotional.) I don’t listen to it very often though because it makes me burst into tears. 😭 Also the VISUALS. Can you think of a JoJo’s death that’s objectively more beautiful than Bruno’s?
Tumblr media
(can you??? CAN YOU??)
I agree with your thoughts! I too believe he’s spiritual. Like you said, I don’t think he follows a specific religion, but it’s shown he believes in fate, which is a higher power, in a way. The idea of fate is highly associated with religion, so the chance of him believing in something is pretty high. You’re right, there’s a chance he could be Catholic, considering that 79.2% of Italians are Catholic (this data is from a Eurobarometer poll from 2021.) But I don’t get Catholic vibes from him
(what even are Catholic vibes?? LOL I don’t know, but Bruno doesn’t have em.) His ability to see light in dark things is also very correlated to religion.
Araki himself is somewhat spiritual, I’ve heard. He went to a protestant school when he was a kid, but he isn’t a Christian now. People speculate he leans more towards Deism now. Since Araki’s beliefs no doubt influence JoJo’s, I believe Bruno approaches religion the same way Araki does. Of course, Bruno is his own character, so he may not follow what Araki believes, but he is Araki’s creation

So yeah, those are my thoughts! Thanks for sending me this; analyzing this man is my favorite pastime! :)

Okay I had a THOUGHT about Early Bird. Or specifically, what happens after it.
Because Diavolo's still out there, still has his stand arrow/s. And Giorno either doesn't exist, or he's much older than in canon. Possibly even in a position where he can be much more effective in either combatting or infiltrating Passione.
Basically what I'm trying to say is 20-something Giorno Giovanna kinda taking Bucciarati's role as inspirational surrogate parent.
ailing you managed to rummage around my brain and pull out an idea I thought I'd forgotten about
so doing the math, Jotaro would be around 31 in Canon Part 5, and he was 6 in Early Bird Part 3. Giorno was born about 3 years before Canon Part 3, which if we have that be the same here leads to a....... shockingly only 3 year age gap
now, of course there's also room to mess around with when Part 5 happens since if you wanna get really technical, Dio wouldn't have been able to be given the arrows by Enyaba since she wouldn't have been able to buy them off Doppio at this time, but that's a little too gritty for me so let's just shuffle things around instead and just say it all works out by shoving Doppio's trip back a few years
anyways back with Giorno, an old idea I had more or less has Giorno...... with the kiddos as well. I KNOW, THIS IS TECHNICALLY A PRETTY LATE ADDITION TO THE AU BUT HEAR ME OUT:
Dio of course has Jotaro already planned out to be his successor. There's a whole multilayered scheme going on here with loads of irony and revenge and what not, and he doesn't want to give that up. It's just too perfect.
However, Dio has also learned from his mistakes and knows he shouldn't put all his eggs in one basket. After all, given the fact he doesn't have Pucci this time, he is currently without a back up plan
enter: one Haruno Shiobana
this is also where Dio's interactions with the kids get more....... complicated. Because Haruno is the spare so to speak........ but at the same time he's pretty well cared for. Arguably better than the other kids, simply because of the fact he's new. Unlike the other kids, he doesn't need to be convinced of anything. This life and Dio is all he's known, he doesn't need to worry about Haruno trying to escape since....... well, why would he try
not to mention, Haruno's too young to participate in any kind of training, and again he's the spare. He shouldn't have to be trained since if everything goes to plan, he won't be needed as a successor. Maybe he could be a powerful underling one day if his Stand is strong enough, but Jotaro is supposed to be the future leader.
so honestly....... Jotaro's the only one who ever actually interacted with Giorno. He's kept separate from most of the other kids, but of course Dio wanted his heir to meet his possible second. And their interactions were about as interesting as a 3 year old and an ill 6 year old could be.
(who knows, maybe Haruno's mother is here as well? Of course, this does raise the question of whether or not she'd take Haruno with her when she inevitably flees the mansion, but for the sake of the AU let's say she does)
but when they're free.......... this is when things get a bit fun :)
because well....... given their ages, the two honestly don't remember each other super well. Haruno hardly remembers any of his time in the mansion at all, and Jotaro's memories are foggy from time and sickness. Kakyoin might know of Haruno's existence from their talks, but admittedly the toddler's importance wasn't NEARLY as much in his mind as compared to being rescued and getting Jotaro to a hospital
by the time Kakyoin's able to tell Holly and Joseph, Haruno's long gone
Italy I'd imagine isn't too different. Sure there's of course the differing dynamics between Giorno and the team given the fact he's 28 (and now the oldest member of the team by a landslide, Abbacchio being the closest at 21) but plot wise? There's definitely the question of do we play it straight or get creative with it which........ okay let's be real we're most likely gonna go the creative route jrdbvjdrbvs
I'm definitely very interested in how Koichi little quest goes down and how Giorno will deal with his chasing, and ofc how Jotaro will fall into things here
Polnareff definitely will make things interesting, since he's of course very related to Events All Those Years Ago and would likely be aware of the fact that Dio son who went missing that fateful night
there's a lot of room to Get Funky With It :)
also I'm just. Rotating Jotaro and Giorno's childhoods. How the mansion was the best and safest Giorno had ever been, and had he grown up there he honestly probably wouldn't have had that bad of a life, at least in comparison to his mother's neglect and step-father's abuse.
but that being in stark contrast to Jotaro's own experience. How the mansion was literal hell. How he was stolen away from his life and family and very nearly died, scared and alone.
how Dio managed to be Giorno's savior and Jotaro's nightmare
how Holly's rescue was Jotaro's saving grace and the thing that shattered any hope of Giorno's good future
how these two are family, both by blood and by the man who attempted to raise and shape them

everything stays- Golden Wind fanfic
JJBA GW one shot ~1.6k words, SFW genfic
now on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/50584042/share
As much as he might have been loathe to admit it, Giorno hated his requiem stand. He felt like an immature ingrate thinking it; Gold Experience Requiem saved him and his friends in Rome. It was the reason Giorno was able to pursue his dream of cleaning up Naples’ streets. But with every passing month the feeling weighed on him more.
He sat bodily on a public bench outside some hair salon, the sign reading ‘il parrucchiere mago- trova il tuo nuovo sé’. Breathing heavily, he was trying to glance at GER behind him without arousing suspicion from the few people already out and about at 5:40 AM on a Tuesday. GER had no such considerations, glaring at every passerby with what Giorno could only imagine was murderous intent. ‘Touch my water bottle’ he thought to it. ‘Turn it into a nutria.’ GER didn’t budge. He tried to call it back into him. It didn’t work.
Once his vision stopped spinning he sighed and started heading back to the Villa. Giorno had taken up morning jogs in the past few weeks, hoping they would help clear his mind. In reality they did little other than make him feel guilty for not starting his already too busy workday earlier. Is that why he found himself sprinting full force every time he started running?
~
“Ah, man, what to do about GER
?” Mista scratched his head with the tip of his revolver, considering the question. Most people would be hesitant to stand at the barrel of a gun, but Mista trusted Sex Pistols to never let him come to harm. Well, no harm so irreversible as brain death. Even if perhaps he shouldn’t have. “I dunno, Giogio, I’m not usually the advice guy.” he looked at Giorno, impassive as ever. “But,” he smiled at him, “I'll tell you what. I might not be able to fix anything, but I do know what you need. A distraction.”
“Distraction.”
“Yeah! Anything to just stop thinking about it.”
Giorno paused to consider. “I am very busy, Mista. But I increasingly can’t put it out of my mind.”
Mista pftt-ed automatically before suddenly remembering where he was and looking to see if Giorno was offended. He wasn’t able to tell. “Yeah, but you’re busy with work stuff. Peril, danger, stand attacks. How can you expect GER to lay low like that? Do something fun, for once.” Giorno tried to think back. ‘When did I last do something for pure enjoyment?’
~
“How was the movie? Did Tony McGire spider a lot of men?” Fugo asked, somewhat exasperated. Though he was invited, he didn’t come to the viewing, which only quietly convinced Giorno he got the name wrong on purpose. Fugo wasn’t exactly a pop culture aficionado.
“I don’t know. Fell asleep about fifteen minutes in.”
Fugo shook his head. “C’mon, Giogio. How can you expect to be taller than me one day if you keep sleeping barely four hours a night?” Fugo still retained three stubborn centimeters over Giorno, which he didn’t hesitate to mention at any available opportunity. Giorno had to admit he probably had a point, but sleeping more would leave even less time for his job, let alone having fun. He took a tentative bite of his croissant, smeared with copious butter and his favorite apricot jam; the taste was divine. He loved this quaint little cafe. But at that moment it brought him no comfort. He took his time chewing, wanting any excuse to delay the next part of this conversation. But if anyone could help him with this, it had to be Fugo. “When we came back, I tried to summon Gold Experience again. Strained so hard I felt my eyes almost pop out of their sockets. GER was just staring at me, wearing a certain disapproving expression. I might have snapped at it. Or maybe it was the one who snapped at me. Even now I'm not entirely sure. But it left a giant gash on my forehead.” He pointed to the now traceless site of the injury, undone by the very stand that caused it. Fugo sat there staring at him, mouth full of tuna salad sandwich. Giorno waited expectantly for him to swallow, silently resenting him for using the same time earning trick as himself.
“I don’t really know anything about requiem stands. Did you ask Polnareff about this?”
“I did. He even contacted the Speedwagon Foundation on my behalf to see if they can discover something useful.”
“And
 ?”
“And nothing. He says he barely understands them himself. But if the original Gold Experience hadn’t asserted itself once since it was pierced with the arrow, it’s unlikely it ever will again.”
“I see.” Fugo said eventually. “If that’s the case, I think the only way forward is to accept your circumstances. You need to stop thinking up ways to bring it back. You’re just torturing yourself. You’ll never be able to make peace with GER if you only ever think of how to turn it back. Who knows? Maybe GER will change, become something bearable, even if it will never be the same Gold Experience again.” Giorno held back his response.
“Well, regarding the monthly budget-”
~
Giorno knocked on the half opened door to Coco Jumbo’s room. It was already rather late, but Polnareff would usually still be awake at this hour. From inside came an ever cheery voice “yes, come in!” It echoed like it was coming from a much bigger space than the modest room could allow. Coco Jumbo was sitting on the sofa in the corner. Normally much too tall a surface for a turtle to climb onto, given access by ramps stretching from the floor to every piece of furniture or appliance not already placed on the floor. They’d offered to get rid of the sofa, but Polnareff insisted they keep at least a small sofa and desk. As soon as he was inside the turtle Polnareff charged at him with a bear hug. The contact with his ghostly form felt a bit weird. It had mass, but wasn’t entirely solid.
“What’s wrong Giorno? Couldn’t sleep? Something bothering you?” Coming from any other person that kind of attention would’ve felt smothering, but from him it felt genuine. Like he was asking because he wanted to hear the answer, not just out of politeness.
“I suppose.” he sat down, reminding himself not to get so comfortable as to fall asleep in the turtle. “I talked to Fugo. He said I can't live with GER if I'm constantly trying to turn it back to something that's already gone. But I can't seem to actually let it go. Even though I know it’s all useless.”
“What is it exactly about Gold Experience that you miss?”
Giorno was a bit taken aback. “How do you mean?”
“Well, Gold Experience might not be coming back, but why do you miss it in the first place? Do you know what it is about it that made you happier than GER? Maybe you can have this thing back. That same feeling, just in a different way.”
~
It was over a decade ago now. Giorno, only five years old, was sitting on the dirt in the tiny unkempt garden of their new house in italy. It was the time when his mother’s marriage was still fresh. When he was excited to make friends at this new place called “school”. When he still believed his stepdad’s wrath could be avoided if only he was well behaved enough. That garden was his refuge, a garden of eden. Crows and pigeons would fight over the right to rule the fence. Stray cats would sometimes sneak in; they might’ve let him pet them, if he gave them food scraps before. He was digging around for worms, eyes widening every time he found a squirming form in the moist ground. It made him wonder if they were placed there by a higher power just for him. The critters hiding in foliage and underground seemed like too much of a miracle to be a product of mere chance. Aristotle wrote about the theory of spontaneous generation. That living creatures could be birthed from dead, inanimate matter. And that was what humans believed for centuries. Common knowledge, really. By Giorno’s time everyone knew this was nonsense, of course; a fantasy created by prescientific minds. But Giorno was too young to have learned about such things; free to dream up explanations for the miracle in front of him.
~
Once giorno figured out how the damned UV lamp was supposed to be set up the cage was complete. Substrate, sticks, a stone to rub on, and every amenity a crested gecko could hope for. He opened the small plastic container and placed it inside the terrarium, letting the little guy step out and explore in his own time. Mista stood behind them, making faces.
“A gecko, really? Am I going to see it now every time I step in your office? Ugh, it’s face gives me the heebie-jeebies.”
“How could you say something so awful?” he said, his back still turned. Not that seeing his face would’ve given away whether or not he was joking. “In any case, his name’s Charlie, and you’re perfectly within your right to look away if his face bothers you.” When Giorno finally turned to face him, he took another sip of his tea. Out of politeness more than anything. He was never much of a tea guy, but when Giorno offered him a cup he brewed with the mint he grew himself, Mista didn’t have the heart to tell him no. Because at this point he knew Giorno well enough to see through his mysterious air; he was proud of himself.
