Keeps thinking he's seeing SQQ in the corner of his eyes, or wandering between the trees, amongst a group of disciples. Thinks he hears him calling for him, but its just the wind or another disciple.

Gets Xiu Ya reforged but patently fucking refuses to make a sword mound. Because his disciple Is Not Dead :))) There was No Body. He's Not Dead. I'm so mad that post was misinformation because there is actually an EXTREMELY important conversation to have about the production schedules artists are forced into. There's no need for exaggeration, the conditions are bad.

I work for webtoon. My publication schedule is weekly. While publishing I'm required 10-15 pages a week. Fully colored.

This means I'm finishing a 150 page fully colored graphic novel every 10-15 weeks.

When my comic is not updating, I am not getting paid. Any time writing, editing, or off is out of my own pocket. I don't get healthcare. They do not provide any assistants. They expect me to promote myself; they chose to deprioritize me before I even launched and gave me an end date half a year in. I never had a chance.

And this is the industry standard! Every company has artists forced into crunch hours, overtime, and burnout. Artists are literally dying early due to it. So many of my friends can't afford to go to the doctor.

It's unsustainable and untenable, and it's also the expectation our audiences have.

If we want to have this conversation, there's plenty of conversation to be had with the realities of the situation. It's bad as is.

tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

idk it’s not flame for me it’s reaching out i think there’s legit a large significant amount of non transitioning transmascs who would benefit and enjoy going further on their transition like getting affirming clothes or working towards hormones but just procrastinate those steps endlessly out of fear and assuming that it “wouldn’t work” or wouldn’t be worth it, and like Every time i observe this with friends IRL i encourage them gently over time with my other friends and then watch them slowly bloom and look happier than they have in months in like a baggyish hawaiian shirt and jeans instead of their old women’s sized tees or start getting on t and laugh about new changes and inside it just makes me go Fuck guys you can have it if you want it you’re allowed to become and it’s not the end of the world you can take the leap you won’t die it’s easier than you think

If Dream was given the BIGGEST. LARGEST. benefit of a doubt of all time, then the truth is:

He isn’t careful with his words or actions.

He CANNOT fathom the consequences of his carelessness.

He can’t be bothered to consider the responsibility of his position before making decisions that inadvertently hurt other people because his fanbase is large, has negative actors, and speak on his behalf. DESPITE whatever he actually intended.

This leads to speculation from those outside of his fan base on his intention, insight to his unconscious motives and exposes his ignorance.

He is impulsive (in his words), prideful, and entitled. It prevents him from understanding the above points.

He is somewhat narrowminded and shortsighted when having to deal with said consequences.

It alludes him why certain topics need to be treated with the seriousness and severity it deserves.

It immensely upsets him that he cannot control his image to the wider public.

For some reason he cannot see that context doesn’t matter as much as the impact does. He focuses SO MUCH on explaining WHY something happened instead of acknowledging YES, it happened. He downplays those consequences in order to emphasize his “rationality”.

Perhaps creators should be taught how to handle an audience before being thrusted into having a sphere of influence.

As Tubbo said, being sexist/racist/etc is technically subjective. I do believe Dream isn’t purposefully racist, sexist, homophobic etc. That is my BOD for him. That’s what he believes for himself also. This is NOT, HOWEVER, how his words and actions come off. It can be interpreted as sexist, racist, transphobic, sinophobic etc to the wider audience. Not to mention the manipulative tactics and weaponized incompetence. He doesn’t realize this, which is why he’s so confused and trying so hard to control the perception of himself.

thinking about the christening of the protostar, when kathryn and chakotay last saw each other. how it makes clear that kathryn does not want to go back into deep space, that she has had enough of that for a lifetime. "dont let them promote you to admrial, they'll take your ship and put you behind a desk" Kathryn probably went "oh thank god" and took that promotion with hugs and kisses. she says "the only way starfleet is going to get me back out there is as a hologram"

i imagine her hardcore nesting as well, really settling, making room in her life and just waiting for a simple sign chakotay has packed his things and is ready to move in.

only for the notification to pop up on her desk that captain chakotay is assigned the protostar, set on a course back to the delta quadrant.

but thats fine if thats what he wants, its not like they ever actually made plans, that he made her any promises, she just thought he'd go for that antropology position not another deep space assignment, putting him back into harms way...? but it doesnt matter, if thats what makes him happy, then Kathryn will be there and she will be supporting him through it.

meanwhile chakotay gets promoted to captain, something that once upon a lifetime was everything he wanted, what he worked for, before everything happened - his resignation, the maquis, the delta quadrant, kathryn.... but now... the pips at his collar mean nothing. he looks at the course they've plotted, getting them awefully close to dangerous anomalies and borg space and all the threats he thought he left behind. he thought he would settle down once they reached earth, get that teaching position he's dreamed of back when they fought mind-controlling space worms, but kathryn didn't call. she seems so happy with her new life, the new position. He's watched her from a distance, making a home for herself, without him and he'd be lying if he said it didn't hurt but it's fine. It's okay. It's only ever been about her happiness and if that includes everything but him, he'll give her space. he's learned how to do that. He's good at that. in a way she'll be watching over him now, from afar, as admiral. and her captain.

He'll go back to the delta quadrant, where he was with his family, where he was with the woman he loves, where he was truly happy for the first time in his life, had a purpose, a goal. Peace. maybe he'll find it once again.

So when they Kathryn asks "you're really going back out there." she means "why are you leaving again? why won't you stay?" and when chakotay answers "if i run into any trouble, you're the first one I'll call" he means "i don't want to leave you. but i cant stay here"

and when he goes missing, her previous promise of "never going back out there except as a hologram" gets eradicated because if its him, stranded yet again? there is no barrier she won't cross to get him back.

Look, Dick wasn’t expecting to get snatched in the middle of patrol. He wasn’t even in Gotham! There weren’t even any rogues in Bludhaven as far as he was aware of! Yet here he was, having blacked out after getting tackled he thinks? Something like that! Here he was in an apartment of some sort, even though the room looked like it was something more fitting for the manor, with the shadows literally tugging him towards the hall. Look, when he’s kidnapped he’s expecting some sort of fight, not a dude whose visibly not human and visibly very stressed out and maybe close to a panic attack of some sort. 

Why does he feel like he just got dragged into some sort of mess…?
