You needed this. It’s been a while since you’ve spent time with your friends, all of them, without a care in the world. Which is weird, cause you never really thought about it when he was still here. Each of you always ensured that you didn’t neglect your friend groups, and you even tried to make them spend time together. I didn’t exactly work. Yeonjun’s friends were always nice and you’re lucky enough to call them your friends now, but the girls would always favor Minho’s group. You don’t blame them, though, Karina has been friends with Minho for a long time, and Yeji and Yunjin were dating Chan and Felix. It makes sense.

So this is nice, or that’s what you want to convince yourself of. Because part of you wishes Beomgyu were here complaining cause no one wants to listen to Taylor Swift, or Soobin was almost falling asleep on the kitchen floor while Heesung and Taehyun draw dicks on his face and then try to blame Kai for it. Most of all, though, you wish Yeonjun was here. A lot of things haven’t made sense since he left. Will they ever have meaning again? You hope so. Ever since you last saw him, a part of you has been missing; your laugh is not as loud, your eyes are not as bright, your smile is not as wide… How can you love someone this much even after they break your heart? You don’t know, but you’re scared that maybe you’ll never stop loving him.

Everyone is having fun, even Felix and Hyunjin who are still trying to make decent pasta, they’re not having any luck with that, though. Yeji and Yunjin are laughing and dancing around the living room, and Karina is pretending to play along while texting Lia. You don’t feel part of that bliss.

“Why are you here alone?” A voice interrupts your thoughts.

You take another sip. “I’m not alone,” you turn to look at him. “My friends are here.”

Minho smirks, something you’ve grown used to seeing. “You know what I mean.”

“Actually,” you play with the glass between your fingers, “I don't.”

He rolls his eyes at you, you’re not sure if he’s teasing you. “Your boyfriend.”

He sure lost his mind now.

“Who?” You ask, who could he be talking about?

He downs his glass of wine as if trying to gather some courage. “Your brother’s friend.”

To be fair, both of your brothers have a lot of friends, and you’re not even sure whether he’s talking about Joshua or Hansol. And then it clicks…

“You mean Hao?” You guess once you realize that probably everyone thinks something is going on between the two of you.

“That's the one.” His eyes don’t look at you, though. On the contrary, he avoids your gaze as much as he can.

“Oh, my god,” you can’t help the laugh that escapes your lips. “He's just a friend. A really good one, but that’s it.”

You don’t know why you’re explaining yourself, though.

He frowns. “Doesn't seem like it.” His lips press in a line as if trying to figure something out, something that he’s not ready to share yet.

“Jealous, Lee?” You tease him.

You know this is wrong, that you’re going too far. And maybe it’s the wine or your broken heart, but you wanna see how far this can go.

The smug look on his face when he takes a step forward doesn’t go unnoticed. “Maybe.”

You’re gonna regret this… but right now, you wanna enjoy.

Therapy is confusing. That was the first thing Yeonjun realized when he started seeing Dr. Nam. He read about it online before finally making an appointment. He just wanted to try. Turns out he actually enjoys talking about his feelings and voicing his darkest thoughts in a safe space. However, he can’t quite figure out how this whole ordeal is supposed to help him get better.

Moreover, never would it occur to him that all of his issues are actually related to his childhood. But here he is. What he thought was a consequence of a very toxic and emotionally abusive failed relationship with a heartless bitch, is surprisingly the result of years of abandonment. thinking about it, he did try to compete with his parents’ jobs back when he was a kid. Of course, he wanted to spend time with them but he grew to accept that he’d never be as important. Is that where it all started? Just because his parents weren’t present enough, he ended up feeling like a meaningless piece of trash. That’s fucked up.

Even worse, he never made the connection. His childhood was lonely, to say the least, but after high school, his relationship with his parents improved a lot. They respect him and are mindful of his time and space. That should be enough, right? It’s not. It never was. And now he sees it. His parents never thought of him as a child to tend to and nurture, he was a pocket-size adult. He was merely an independent being who lived under their roof, maybe even someone to carry their legacy at some point. He doesn’t resent them, though. He just feels bad for the kid he used to be, and the person he’ll never be.

Maybe, eventually, he’ll be enough for himself.

The dinner is now long forgotten and the wine keeps pouring. Everyone seems to be living in their own world. Couples are kissing and some even slip into one of the bedrooms where they can surrender to the burning passion of their desires. Not you, though. Not anymore.

Yunjin and Chan have been missing for a while, and you get a glimpse of Yeji’s skirt disappearing down the hall, probably headed to Felix’s bedroom. Hyujin and Ryujin are still drinking in the living room and Jisung is trying to teach a very drunk Karina how to play Minecraft. Just a regular night.

Something is different, though. The way Minho’s breath brushes your skin and the tenderness of his fingers trailing up and down your arm is not a regular occurrence at all.

You’re feeling dizzy and no longer know if it’s because of the wine or the heat irradiating from Minho’s body. This is dangerous, though.

“You know,” he whispers against your ear. “I'd make one hell of a rebound guy.”

You laugh, you wanna think he’s just messing with you. But the look in his eyes says otherwise.

You cup his cheek. “I would never do that to you”

Why can’t he understand that? Why did you indulge in his game in the first place?

“And why not?” He inquires as his pleading eyes fall on your lips.

“You have feelings for me, and being heartbroken doesn't give me any right to hurt someone else.” You try to explain.

His face gets closer to yours as he questions you yet again. “What if I let you?”

You sigh. “Minho–”

“I mean it, I don't know how this is gonna end up more than you do, but it could be something great.” He interrupts your words. He sounds desperate.

A faint memory of the past replays in your mind, but you don’t want to think about that right now. You’re not even sure if you want to think at all.

“It could be a disaster.” You breathe.

Your resolve is starting to falter and he sure notices it. “We have nothing to lose.”

“I could lose you.” You insist while placing a hand on his chest trying to create some distance.

There it is again, that frown that never leaves his face. “What?”

This is tiresome. “Call me selfish, but these days with you have been great. I love having you as a friend and I don't wanna lose that.” It feels as if you’ve been repeating the same words over and over.

“Then you won't lose me.” He tries to assure you.

You’re about to give in and he can feel it. “How do you know?”

“Whatever happens, I promise you, I'll be with you.” His hand goes to your cheek. Such a delicate almost imperceptible touch.

“What if you can't keep that promise?” You lean into his touch.

His lips brush against yours. “We'll worry about that later.”

You’re feeling breathless. “But–”

“You talk too much.” He mutters before finally pulling you into a kiss.

You’ve never given much thought to the way Minho’s lips could feel while touching yours. But this sure is a lot more different than anything you could have imagined. His kiss is a demanding one as if he were claiming something rightfully his.

The one thing Yeonjun likes about Dr. Jung is that he allows him to express himself however he sees fit. Journaling is not for him, so Yeonjun always returns to his office with a new song. So that’s what he’s doing right now; writing his new cathartic single.

Right here, in the quiet of his parents’ guestroom, he can be honest with himself. He can say his fears out loud without worrying about someone seeing him fall apart. It hurts. Loving someone so much and having to let them go.

That’s the worst part. He had to let you go, but his heart has been aching every passing second since then. He already accepted that he may never get you back, but his body and soul will always belong to you. He has your name tattooed in the very core of his being.

Maybe that’s the only truth. Maybe it wasn’t Yuna’s fault. He’s the one that’s damaged. He’s the one who’s spent his entire life thinking he would amount to nothing so, in consequence, he doesn’t deserve anything good that happens to him. Beomgyu is right, he’s self-destructive and he can’t change that on his own.

He knows now that he is capable of doing anything to be better. He’ll do it for you, of course. But he also wants to do it for himself. Dr. Jung is right, he can never see himself as someone worthy of love if he himself loathes his own existence.

He wants to believe that you love him. He wants to be able to laugh wholeheartedly and enjoy every second. He wants to hope. He wants to trust in the future. He wants to fall in love with life and be grateful for every second without the unbearable weight of fear. Fear of letting you down. Fear of not being enough. He’s done with that.

This is his goodbye. He’s finally setting himself free. He’s leaving behind the pain and hatred. He can’t say goodbye to you, though. He’ll never be able to. He loves you too much. So he’ll hold onto that love and use it to get rid of all of the negative thoughts running through his head. If he can’t believe in anything else, He’ll believe in you, in your words, in your promises, in your touch, in your sighs, in your love. He will choose over and over again until he’s someone worthy of love; yours and his own. In order to do that, he has to let you go completely, at least for now. No more asking about you, and no more stalking your socials. He’ll focus on himself and then he’ll go back to Seoul. That’s his truth right now. He can do it. No matter how hard it is, he’ll get through it and then he’ll go back to try to win your heart. He did it once, he’ll do it again.

You’re not sure of how you got here. Minho’s room smells like him, it’s almost overwhelming. In between soft touches and gasps, clothes start piling up on the floor. The slight effects that the wine had on you are long gone. You still feel drunk though, but on something much stronger than that.

Minho’s breath brushes your collarbone. “Tell me you don't want this and I'll stop.”

Such a gentleman, you want to mock.

“We're gonna regret this,” you murmur between ragged breaths.

“Then let's make it worth it,” he answers and you wanna wipe that taunting sneer off his lips.

A small voice in your head whispers a certain name. You ignore it, though. You can worry about that tomorrow. Right now, you wanna bathe yourself in this bliss.

Okay so to make my life harder, I’ve decided to make around 8-9 ish separate art pieces that focus on Shiny Duo angst throughout their time in SL and WL , paralleling them to a certain song that I’ve been listening to for quite a bit: Tears in Your Eyes by MICO.

And so, I’ve made a character sheet for Pearl in order to make sure I have a consistent design for her in this specific art project (have not done Gem yet but I’m getting there)

—TW! Scars (specifically, burn scars)—

The burn scars are most likely incorrect but they are easy for me to replicate and that’s honestly what I’m going for as this will be a lot of drawing.

Have you listened/watched epic? And if you have what’s your thoughts?

Personally I think it’s a good thing to show to a friend new to Greek mythology. I just finished watching the last saga and I have to say I loved it, beautiful. Sad it ended tho :(

It might not be very accurate but I love the hardwork the cast put into it and so I love it very much

My thoughts on Epic the musical

So yes, I know about Epic. I even participated in the secret santa thing and am what we may call 'a winion'.

I just finished watching the livestream too ! I especially loved seeing the cast members were reacting to the sagas (Luke Holt was so funny in this 🤣. Also, Jorge carrying Mico like a baby in 'Just a man' and Mason being extra the whole time... so many gems in that livestream)

Since Epic is finished AND I have animatics of the Ithaca saga, I'll use this opportunity to make a more in-depth review of the musical. Instead of separating it in "good" or "bad", I'm reviewing it criteria per criteria.

The cast

Like I previously said, I LOVE the cast chemistry. They're all so fun and lively. I follow some of them separately, like Janani or Troy Doherty, and they're just delightful. Especially Troy as Hermes, he always manages to make me laugh. Every single time 😂.

Also, he gives me a bit of Mettaton vibes since he's extravagant, always over the top and a bit self-absorbed (the Hermes persona, I mean, not Troy Doherty himself). Maybe that's why I like him so much :3

And of course, there's Jorge, mr. Jalapeño, the man with the plan. I love how both passionate and humble he is, how he takes the time to thank everyone and just how much of a bundle of positive energy he is. I know it's an internet persona, but what I can see from him is some hopefully really nice guy in real life too.

Anyways, awesome cast chemistry, everyone made me laugh and they're all having a good time.

The music

This music is so beautiful 🥰. All the motifs, the emotions, the instruments, the voices ! If I had to rate Epic from the music alone, it would be 5 stars. I'm not saying this in a professional angle or anything, it's my personal feeling.

Seriously, I don't really have that much to say about the music because, to me, it's just that good. I love the variety, how different instruments synch themselves and, yeah.

The characters

Annnnd that's where the blind positive praise stops, unfortunately 😂.

Don't get me wrong, it's not awful either and there are good points. My favorite Epic characters are Hermes and Athena.

The rest ? It's mixed. In order not to make this too long, I'll focus on only some of them.

The story is very character-driven so I won't really delve into it in detail.

Odysseus : he's a good protagonist, especially in the first act. His dilemma is interesting, he has a strong personality and I like that he is just a broken man and not some mighty overlord... except in the Thunder and Vengeance sagas. I feel Jorge exaggerated the monster message a bit too much, imo. Odysseus is supposed to be a witty liar, a warrior of the mind. Not someone like Achilles who solves problems by fighting or fights gods like Heracles, much less freaking Poseidon.

Poseidon : okay ! I liked him in the first act, because FINALLY Poseidon isn't a surfer dude. He's a terrifying force of nature that was angered by mortal hubris (though the hubris thing isn't explained by Epic). In Get in the water, he kept his intimidating side. Because he's, yk, the king of the oceans, one of the most powerful Olympian gods. But his defeat partially ruined him for me 😂. It just doesn't make sense. Why is Odysseus afraid of Scylla and even tip-toes around Hermes, who is friendly, when he can stabby-stab Poseidon ? Why didn't Poseidon counterattack? So many questions.

Zeus : my problem with Zeus is easier to explain. Again, he was awesome in the first act, less so in the second. What I loved initially is how regal he was. Powerful, intimidating, kingly, but not evil either. He warns Odysseus of the gods' will and of fate, which always realizes itself in mythology. In Thunder Bringer, he's fine. His lustful and flighty side is shown, but we could interpret his intervention as avenging Helios and punishing the ones who ate the cows, instead of "Zeus is evil". But in God Games ? He's so pettyyyyy and childish. Where is the kingly attitude ? This "Beast Zeus" should come against Kronos or Typhon, or maybe when Athena and the others threatened his position. Not after a freaking game ! He just strikes Athena with thunder because she won fair and square. At LEAST Luke Holt absolutely killed it, so it's cool to listen to.

Penelope : she's underdeveloped :( . Okay, her bond with Odysseus was respected, they're adorable together. On her own ? Eh, she's fine. Which is a shame because she simply didn't have enough room to exist outside of Odysseus. Also, the fact that she doesn't interact once with her son is criminal imo.

I do have some other issues with characters like Circe and Calypso (basically they're declawed compared to the Odyssey), whereas I'm completely fine with others like Eurylochus, Telemachus or every god except Zeus and Poseidon. Though they're not perfectly accurate either but I don't have problems with them.

The crew in general is also underdeveloped, so I didn't feel much for them (until discovering the scrapped Elpenor and Perimedes songs/lh). They played their roles correctly.

I hated the suitors (that's a positive in Epic) and laughed when Antinous died. Though I wished they were more pathetic and less threatening. Musically it'd be worse but story-wise more fitting.

The story

Overall, it's fine. Most of the best points come from the Odyssey itself, the one change I liked the most was having Odysseus and Poseidon meet (not the way it ended though).

Also, story-wise, I prefer act 1 over act 2, because it's less over the place and more grounded.

But emotion-wise and music-wise, forgetting about the Odyssey, act 2 wins the cake.

Those were my thoughts on Epic :3

I tried not to judge it too much according to the Odyssey and some of my friends are more demanding on that plan (for perfectly legitimate reasons btw). But it's hard to separate Epic from the wonderful work of Homer and it's lacking in some areas.

Still, this journey was very fun, I love all the passion Jorge, the singers and the animatic artists put in, there are a lot of good things about it (I can't mention everything). I don't want to rate it because it's too rigid of a system. I listen to the songs on loop and, ultimately, I'm thankful Epic exists :)

I may come back to this post and reblog stuff if I have new relevant thoughts to add. I'll probably rank the sagas in another post.

Just. Major props to the entirety of Odysseus because it is so difficult for me to listen to but I’m also relieved that there’s so much they didn’t try to lessen/censor. The Odyssey is NOT an easy-going myth, so it makes sense that there are songs and sections of songs for a musical based on The Odyssey that are also difficult to listen to. That being said, Telemachus yelling for the suitors to get off of him just continues to break my heart. Does Odysseus knows that is his boy when he saves him? Does he know?? THAT’S HIS BOY!!

(Also the emotion Mico puts into his voice while being Telemachus for this entire saga - thank you for breaking my heart with your voice because it as wonderful as it is heart wrenching)

Welcome! Been waiting for your account! Meant to ask, Have you listened to the Ithaca saga yet? If so, are you still alive mentally?

I'm gonna be honest, I've asked if you guys want a Tumblr account from me BECAUSE I wanted to yap about the Ithaca Saga lol

@pomiidorii and I stayed up to watch the live, and it was SO much fun. I laughed so hard at the joystick infant, on Polyphemus with Luke being the Cyclops, Luck runs out with the macarena and the face slap, No longer you when Mason just decided to randomly dance with Jorge, or when Talya and Jay swapped roles during their songs. When they brought the ghost of Polites it was a great idea too, and LOL when Jay pointed at Luke during God Games for Zeus cheating on his wife, and his face completely dropped LMAO

But about the Ithaca Saga, I managed to not cry during it but it was really hard, considering the topics of families reuniting (or positive family dynamics) is one of the very few things that make me emotional. (Don't be fooled, I've cried after the live when I listened to the two last songs again...)

What I didn't expect was the vocals of Ayron in Hold them down, that was AMAZING. I fully thought I'd be skipping that song because I personally cannot handle the topic of SA very well in media, but the song itself was so good that I completely detached the meaning and now cannot stop singing it. During the animatic however, it was really hard to watch the part where Antinous sang about Penelope, it was truly sickening.

Odysseus was SO GOOD my jaw completely DROPPED. I LOVE when characters go completely apeshit after being wronged and (rightfully) take revenge (coming from an Ares devotee, this isn't that surprising). The appearance of Telemachus as the new Warrior of the mind?! And the way Ody just straight up refused to listen to any of the suitors, with his little sassy "No 🫶", I was SOLD.

Do NOT let me start about Anna completely SERVING vocals in The Challenge and Would you fall in love with me again, OH. MY. GOD. Her voice is such a beautiful mix of powerful and delicate, I don't get how she's doing it! And the part when Pen and Ody embrace and Just a man starts playing?? ARGHH!! Such an amazing use of literacy, Jorge has outdone himself.

Another little thing, the switch from Ody growling at the suitors and the second his boy asks for him, his voice softens to answer. STOP THIS MADNESS JORGE!! And when Mico and Jay hugged?? Oh my heart...

The interlude of Steven saying he couldn't come to Ithaca because of the beating he got LMAO and the singing in the shower LOL Neal Illustrator already made a great animatic with that part!

I cannot believe that EPIC is done now, it feels so weird. I remember randomly finding Jorge with the blue eye filter on TikTok and thinking, who is this weirdo? And immediately skipping him LMAO I had no idea that weirdo would come back months later with a full musical that I'd love so much! All in all, it was a great experience, even though I joined only around a month before the Vengeance Saga.

The Challenge:

The 🎻Penelope🎻leitmotif to tells us who's about to (FINALLY) sing

I'm gonna be honest, I had heard all the snippets of this song because I wanted to hear Penelope SO BAD but I love having the actual song out

I knew this was going to be one of my top 3 from the beginning

I love the drums, especially when the suitors begin to sing

Penelope sounds so serious while issuing the challenge, it's very different from the snippets. (great choice! it's a dire situation)

"I'd rather die than grow old without The Best of you" knowing damn well The Best is Odysseus 😭💖

Ayron Alexander is a great singer, I had to listen twice because I got distracted by his voice so I missed what he was saying until the "hold her down". 😔

This song is basically: Odysseus hurt because he thinks Penelope confirmed his fear (she cannot love him anymore) by telling him to cut down the tree 🤝 Penelope upset with Odysseus because how dare he doubt her love (they love each other so much)

Penelope: "How long has it been?"

Odysseus: "Twenty years"

Both: "I Love You"

I'm so sick. Jorge can write a damn good love song for sure.

I'm sad about this being over but I'm also so very happy about finally having all these songs. This has been a great journey, and I can't wait to see what he does moving forward ❤️

As someone who has been a fan of The Odyssey, being inside the Epic: The Musical fandom has been absolutely so amazing. Every Saga that has happened up to the Ithaca Saga was just so,,, great that I can't find words😭😭 Not only that it has been amazing to read other peoples interpretion of the Gods, Myths, Monsters and Heroes alike.

Anyway, I can't get over the Ithaca Saga and how beautiful every song sounds. So have some of my favourite moments in this Saga.

1- The Challenge

In the past Sagas, I have already been too in love with the violin playing whenever Penelope was mentioned etc, not only that I already knew the singer of Penelope had an amazing voice. BUT OH MY LOVE DID THE VOICE CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD./pos

Sirens are real guys and she is one of them(real information)

I don't have a significant favourite part in this song because honestly Anna Lea's voice is so captivating that the entire song passes in a very fun way. Just a very beautiful, sorrowful song overall.

2- Hold Them Down

I already knew this song from the snippets released before but hearing it from Ayron's voice was a whole different experience. He was SO good. Again, the whole song was amazing.

"Can't you guys see we're being played? This is how they hold us down while the throne gets colder. Hold us down while we slowly age. Hold us down while the boy gets bolder. Where in the hell is our pride and our rage?"

One of my favourite moments in this song was this probably. While listening, I actually got the feeling that the suitors were fed up from waiting for Penelope to choose a king. I think Ayron did a wonderful job in not only singing a villainous song but also making us feel how entitled the suitors are actually are.

I especially loved the moment where Antinous gets hit with an arrow by Odysseus and him encouraging the others about their plan is cut off. I will admit, I did audibly laughed at that.

3- Odysseus

I literally can't think of words to describe the emotions I was feeling while listening to this song. I think this is my favourite song alongside of "Would You Fall in Love with Me Again".

The electric guitar playing in the start, again the symbol of him becoming a monster and leaving his humanity(the acoustic guitar) MAN I LOVED THIS SONG.

Him aiming for the torches just like Scylla has done was a great add to that too. Bunch of people has already pointed out this before but it can never be too many amiright? But yeah he really is using every trick in his domain just like Hermes told him to and I love it.

"Somewhere in the shadows lurks an agile, deadly foe..."

"He's using the darkness to hide his approaches!"

The image of Odysseus as Batman popped up in my head after these lines and I can't get it out😭(That au would be so amazing though, especially Talia as Penelope and Damian as Telemachus.)

"You don't think I know my own palace? I built it."

I was already smiling during this whole song and I screamed when he said this. like okay king you go slay I am right behind you

"Old king, our leader is dead. You've destroyed the serpent's head, now the rest of us are no longer a threat.

Old king, forgive us instead, so that no more blood is shed. Let's have open arms instead."

Well It is not a Saga if it doesn't have an "open arms" comeback I guess. Though I did cackle when Odysseus said "No" and killed the guy.

Honestly, deserved. I might be remembering it wrong but I think Eurymachus also asks for forgiveness in The Odyssey? Really glad Odysseus didn't grant it in The Odyssey and in The Epic because from what I remember in The Odyssey, Eurymachus was Antinous' right-hand man and just as bad as him. (Correct me if I am wrong please, It has been a while since the last time I read The Odyssey)

I have no idea who sings Eurymachus in Epic but this whole part was just enough for me to want to learn who it is.

TELEMACHUS' PART! Mico's voice is already beautiful to listen to and it became way more beautiful with the backround music. His own theme music, violin symbolising all that he has learned from his mother. Those sounds just went really well against eachother in my opinion.

"Brothers, we have company, and he's made a grave mistake."

The way this guy sang the sentence, especially "grave mistake" was so satisfying. Absolutely so satisfying I love it.

Also, I heard somewhere that the "Odysseus" repeating in the backround was how the name was pronounced and I love that detail. I loved whenever his name was said in the backround and it is also very interesting how every monsters song is named after them, just like this song.

The screams of the suitors after the whole slaughter is over was a really nice touch, I love it when Jorge adds screams into his songs.

The speech Odysseus gives is also worth to mention.

Mercy? Mercy? My mercy has long since drowned, It died to bring me home. And as long as you're around, my family's fate is left unknown.

You plotted to kill my son, you planned to rape my wife! All of you are going to die!

I also love how it doesn't beat it around the bush about what the suitors were planning to do to Penelope. It should be said as it is, they were planning to rape her which is so vile and awful. Which what made their deaths so satisfying exactly.

Overall, Odysseus was an amazing song. So amazing that I will be going insane about it to my friends for the next 2 months probably.

4- I Can't Help but Wonder

I was crying by the end of this song. Seeing them FINALLY reunite was so 😭😭😭 ALSO THEIR HUG. ☹️☹️☹️/pos

Oh my son, look how much you've grown. Oh my boy, the sweetest joy I've known. Twenty years ago I held you in my arms, how time has flown.

Used to say I'd make the storm clouds cry for you, used to say I'd capture wind and sky for you. Held you in my arms prepared to die for you, oh how times has flown.

Hi, so this should be illegal! All I want to say about this song is how emotional and beautiful it was. And I love how it reminded me of "Dear Theodosia" in Hamilton.

THE WARRIOR OF THE MIND COMEBACK. DEAD AND BURIED. I am not well after that ☹️☹️ Also Odysseus putting everything behind for his family,,, falls to knees with my hands ripping my hair... I am so happy for them.

5- Would You Fall in Love with Me Again?

Finally, we are onto the song that made me shit tears. The OdyPen reunion we all were waiting for just like they were.

THE VIOLIN IN THE START. It is so beautiful just like Penelope, I can't get over it.

Again, Anna Lea's voice make me want to just drop everything I have and listen to it until I start to lose the ability to hear. It is so amazing.

Love how whenever someone uses the word "Waiting" in the song, Its volume and impact raises more than the last one. I especially loved Penelope ending it with "for you." saying that it was him she was waiting for, not love itself because to her, he is her love. I don' know if that made sense but hope I was able to explain it.

The part where Penelope asks Odysseus to carry their wedding bed away from here was such a beautiful moment becasue Anna Lea just sang it very beautifully(as she does as always) It was so emotional and so beautiful.

How could you say this?

I had built that wedding bed with my blood and sweat, carved it into the olive tree where we first met. A symbol of my love everlasting...

Do you realize what you have asked me? The only way to move it is to it cut from its roots!

I just find their Tree Bed very sweet that is all. And a lot of people have pointed out how in The Odyssey, Penelope asked her husband this to prove to herself that this is her husband, while in Epic she asked this to prove to him that he is her husband. I find that change very sweet.

I will fall in love with you over and over again. I don’t care how, where, or when, no matter how long it’s been you're mine.

Don’t tell me you’re not the same person! You’re always my husband and I’ve been waiting, waiting.

The emotion in her voice OHHHH I AM NOT SURVIVING THIS SAGA.

Never getting over the fact that Epic The Musical ended with Odysseus and Penelope saying "I love you." to eachother. NEVER.

There are so much more things I want to say about this banger of a Saga. But for now, I will just congratulate them all on their beautiful voices(EVERY single person who sang in this musical has amazing voice, counting other Sagas too. Holy damn, y'all are amazing.)

The fandom has been an AWESOME one to be in too! Everyone is such amazing people and not only that all of you are very talented. So congratulations to every and each one of you who have done fanarts, fanfictions, animations, fan songs, analysis and so so much more about the Musical, all of you are amazing. <33

so i had to go back and relisten to some of Mico’s songs but here are the ones i believe one could get some sharpwolf aus out of :

ok finally listened to them all today and oh man yeah these three 🫠 perfect sharpwolf material

i will say i see Senses and Lie Lie Lie as a packaged deal where Senses is Antinous’s pov and Lie^3 is Telemachus’s pov

also this screams modern au to me:

these two finding each other either in college or at a cafe or wherever

Tele falls for this front of Antinous, who originally doesn’t care about it because manipulator and apathetic asshole is he

until Antinous does find himself caring

and notices Telemachus changing himself to fit with Antinous (tho the Antinous he seems to live isn’t even the full guy and—)

and Antinous starts to have his own personal fear of Telemachus leaving him when he learns the truth. he sees exactly how their relationship ends and cannot bare it

which is ironic bc he began the relationship on shallow foundations, anticipating it being short. he just didn’t anticipate himself caring this much. loving this much

and then Lie Lie Lie is Telemachus being angry and pissed and so over it (while still struggling to move on and let go of his own jealousy when he sees Antinous “dating” others

and then idontwannatoknowyou! is PEAK childhood friends!sharpwolf who later drifted apart bc Antinous became a suitor to the Queen

nine five albums that got me through 2024 (and some extras)!

this is so cool omg, thank you so much to my wife (@vampteeths) for the tag, i had sm fun! sorry for the essay and i think you'll find a slight recurring theme of indie, pop and indie-pop (with one or two surprises)!

1. the secret of us by gracie abrams, fav song: risk! released at the perfect moment & was exactly what i needed. makes u really realise that you're not alone and that so many others are going through similar experiences. this album to me, is perfection (don't get me started on how much i love the deluxe version)!

2. emails i can't send fwd: by sabrina carpenter, fav song: bet u wanna x i know u might be sick of hearing about sab but this album gave me so much confidence. it's sexy and emotionally validating at the same time. listening to this when ur overthinking about a boy and realising "wait a minute.. fuck him" is the best feeling, only second to listening to it as ur getting ready to go out

3. glass half empty by voilà, fav song: ballerina (with the word alive) indie rock ml, i've missed u! not a fan of all the songs on this album but of the ones i do like, i could listen to on repeat for hours. it's super energetic, great to have a song or two on any playlist to switch up the vibe and their lyrics really tell a story.

4. boy by luke hemmings, fav song: benny moving to something a little slower, calmer, great for a change of pace. really helped me through those moments when i needed to feel a little peace.

5. dreamers by charles leclerc and sofiane pamart, fav song: focus! you wouldn't expect to see me listening to a classical piano album but here we are. honestly fell in love with it sm so that it made it to my most listened to in 2024. incredibly composed, really emotional and grounding at the same time (also makes great background music).

6. MICO, fav song: tears in your eyes! it's not an album but an artist whose 2/3 songs i listened to religiously on repeat towards the end of 2024. honestly don't remember how i found him but i listened to one song and got hooked (if you hadn't realised i'm not a massive album person, i find a song, listen to it on repeat and find another, i rarely like full albums). i think i've been listening to homesick since july!

7. maneater by daryl hall & john oates and honey by coastal club struggled to think of a no. 7 but i can't believe i forgot this song duo that got me through late summer! i listened to a lot of my "trust fall" playlist (made for @sematarygirls) & my retro playlist and that song duo played on repeat for hours! (you can probs see that this year was big on confidence and maneater is the song).

8. beach weather, fav song: seth cohen another artist that i liked a few of their songs. hottest summer on record was great, even if we had the rainiest summer on record (but it was nice to dream). def one of my summer staples! idk why but it's just something about their beat that really has me relaxed, imaging my own obx summer (or maybe the name has something to do with it idk). pineapple sunrise (came out in 2023) was such a good album, i remember listening to sex, drugs, etc and hard feelings for ages!

9. what love is by zimmer90 does anyone else remember this song from 2023 that got really popular as an audio for those yearly wrapped reels? well, it's been on my liked songs since 2023 and got me through the start of 2024 so i believe that's a good reason as any to put it on the list (even if i never seem to remember what i listened to at the start of the year)!
