Just finished donating platelets! Cancer patients, post-surgery patients, and newborns and moms, to name a few, often specifically need platelets (vs. normal blood), which help us stop and slow blood loss. But normal blood donations only give a tiny, tiny number of platelets. For these donations, I sit here for 90ish minutes and the machine takes my blood, extracts platelets, and gives me back the rest, so I’m not dehydrated like with normal blood donation. And my body is healthy enough to make new platelets, so I’ll be refreshed in no time. I just read the whole time (they can also set you up with a movie). I highly recommend it as a way to do some good!

Hey Friends,

First, I want to thank everyone who has helped me in the past and continues to support me. This past month has been very difficult. I was laid off my job two weeks ago, and I have been trying to escape enough funds to pay my bills. My second job is also slow right now. I im currently looking for a new full-time job, and I have a few important bills coming up that I really need help with. Mostly, my storage unit is due at the end of the month. And my kids' school starts soon and I have to pay as well.

Goal: $103.95 for the storage unit and 100 for my kids' school fees. Total: 203.95

Since Pride season is coming, I want to give back to my community so I'll be running a deal on all commissions. (This includes art, handmade items, etc.

Art Commissions: $10 Each (This includes backgrounds, OCs, Fanart, head shots/busts/full body view/sketches/full colored art/etc

Handmade Items: Prices stay the same as the pictures attached to this post.

Every commission I get, will be split in half. 1 half will be saved and then donated to a pro-LGBT+ organization. The other half will be split 2 ways. 1 part going to me for driving classes and necessities, while the remaining part will be saved and used for non perishable food and necessities to give away to homeless people in my area.

This will last until September.

As a lot of you who have been active in the Encanto fandom for as long as I have known, last month marked the one-year anniversary of the suicide of someone very special in this fandom, carlaerosie. She sadly took her own life way too young after being bullied and harassed far too many times by the racist assholes in this fandom, and since it's been one year since her death. I want to give back by finding a Colombian-based charity that helps those with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. I ended up finding the Sergio Urrego Foundation, which is based in Bogota, Colombia, and it's mission is to provide psychiatric care for those in need of it. I'm planning on taking out $20 per paycheck I get this month to give back and I highly encourage anyone else involved to do whatever you can for this organization.
