The Ribbon: The most prominent symbol is likely a blue ribbon, the international color for autism awareness. This ribbon brings attention to autism and shows solidarity with autistic individuals and their families.
The Heart: The heart signifies kindness, compassion, and love. By incorporating a heart, the design emphasizes the importance of understanding and embracing autistic people.
Combined Meaning: Together, the ribbon and heart create a powerful message. It promotes autism awareness while highlighting the need for kindness and acceptance towards those on the spectrum. This design goes beyond just raising awareness; it actively encourages a more inclusive and understanding world for autistic individuals.

Variations and Customization: The Kindness Ribbon Heart can be found in various forms. The ribbon may be the classic blue, or it could be a rainbow puzzle piece design, another common symbol for autism. The heart itself can be a simple outline or a more detailed illustration. This allows for personalization and selection of a design that resonates most with the wearer.
Finding the perfect gift for an autistic adult can be tricky, but it's a thoughtful gesture that shows you care. Here are some ideas to consider, keeping in mind that autistic people have a wide range of interests and preferences:

Sensory Items: Many autistic adults find comfort and enjoyment in sensory stimulation. Fidget toys like spinners, squishy balls, and chewable necklaces can help them focus and manage anxiety. Weighted blankets provide deep pressure stimulation that can be calming and promote relaxation.
Noise-Cancelling Headphones: Autistic adults can be sensitive to loud noises. Noise-cancelling headphones can be a lifesaver in overwhelming environments.
Subscription Boxes: Subscription boxes curated for specific interests can be a fun way to introduce new things or cater to existing passions. Options include fidget box subscriptions, art supply boxes, or boxes for hobbies like cooking or gardening.

Comfort Clothing: Look for clothes made from soft, breathable fabrics with comfortable seams. Many autistic adults prefer loose-fitting clothing that avoids tags or scratchy materials.

Great Gifts For Autistic Adults
1. Special Interest Gifts Most autistic people have “special interests:” intense interests in a certain area. These interests help them relieve stress and enjoy life. It might seem odd to others, but it makes them happy. Think of gifts that involve this interest. That might be: Books about it Stickers about it Shirts with slogans Music involving it 2. Fancy Sensory Stuff Calming sensory items…

Hi! So I’m writing a non-verbal autistic toddler. I wanted to ask about large stereotypes I should avoid? Part of my writing him is making him have some of my experiences (such as the “gifted kid”) but also some of the experiences of other autistic individuals such as being put into therapy as children and being raised by parents who were given terrible coping skills or just adults with terrible coping mechanisms for the child )such as restraining them when they have a meltdown). I’m not sure if there’s anything I should be avoiding but I don’t want to make a mistake and end up never writing an autistic or disabled child in general
Hi asker,
I want to start off with a note about stereotypes about autism, specifically. Some people will tell you to avoid 'stereotypical' portrayals of autism, like intellectually disabled autistic people, or ones who can't have jobs, or ones who stand 'weird,' or ones who are very obviously visibly disabled, or ones who need caregivers, or ones with no empathy. What I want to say about this is that there are autistic people who are these things, maybe all of them even. And that's fine. It's one thing to say "don't write every autistic character this way, which is true – the experiences of people with autism are very, very varied, and not a monolith. But it is another to say "Never write an autistic character who [insert common characteristic of autism here]," because that's harmful and disingenuous, and often just done as a way to distance oneself from those more affected by their disability.
Now that I'm off my soapbox, onto your actual question.
One stereotype I would urge you to avoid is "Everyone around them sees their autism as negative and no one supports this kid how they are." Does this happen in real life? Unfortunately, yes. Do we already have enough of this in stories? Also yes. The kid's parents can have bad coping skills. They can put them into various therapies to try and help or maybe even to try and make them more typical, not just to help them gain skills and get support, because that happens. But I would urge you to include at least one or two aspects of their autism that their parents appreciate and support. Maybe they stim with the kid, or maybe they really truly find it endearing how much their kid likes lining things up, or maybe they're really determined to get their kid an AAC device because they're okay with their kid being nonverbal and just want them to be able to communicate in the best way possible.
Another thing I would ask you to consider is: when it comes to referencing terrible coping mechanisms that are actually harmful, like dangerous modes of restraints, it's important that if you are going to be depicting them in the first place, you make sure it's not posed as a good idea – this is the kind of thing that can kill people. When Sia's Music came out, the character gets put in a dangerous restraint and within the movie it's posed as the right thing to do when it is actually potentially deadly. No one in the making of the movie condemned it outside of the movie's canon, either. That's dangerous.
Also, how old is your toddler character? Were they diagnosed recently, or is it more like the character is almost 5 and they were diagnosed at 18 months? Parents will deal with a diagnosis a little differently when they just get it as opposed to when they have had a little more experience with it, and have gotten to know more about why their kid does what they do.
Lastly, something I'd ask you to avoid as well is for the autistic character to be nothing more than a plot device to make others look good (or bad). Now of course I don't know your story, but even if the toddler character is a minor character, they should have a little to do in the story that isn't just be there for others to look like better or worse people. They can have scenes with other characters that help progress the story forward, even if it's just a scene or two. This really depends on your story and plot, though, so you have a lot of leeway.
Hope this helps!

Trio Headcanons: (will add more later)
HJP:
Bisexual, bigender (he/they/she in varying order)
Mortified at the idea of being anything other than cishet. Went through a really awkward experimental phase w/ gender that he tried to keep secret (and mostly succeeded at)
Pretty androgynous mostly but can sometimes lean more hyperfem or hypermasc
One of the features he finds most attractive abt people is hair. Hair with a nice color, shiny hair, long hair, fun textures, cool styles, etc. It's something he likes a lot about the other two
SO sure that he only has aesthetic attraction to guys and probably only realized it was gay because of a crush or because someone else pointed out to him that he was acting really gay
Has depression & C-PTSD, possibly also DPDR
Likes unusual pets even if he might not get them himself. Both because he finds them neat and because he relates to them a lot (something a lot of people find unlovable being cared for)
Would main Daisy & Yoshi in Mario Kart (& other competitive Mario games)
Likes RPG games
Sleeps in all sorts of different positions but his signature is curling into a ball. Like a bug
Usually little spoon. Happy to either be laid on or to lay on the others. Likes to be in the middle but won't admit to it (they know)
RBW:
Bisexual, cis (he/him)
Very comfortable being a guy but will sometimes do feminine things if it’s really funny (or if the other two can manage to convince him)
Knows absolutely nothing about LGBT stuff and would probably be really uncomfortable about it at first. Not necessarily in a bigoted/malicious way, more so in a "I don't get it" kind of way. He'd get that from Molly, I think
When he's older he still wouldn't understand all of it but he'd be a massive defender of other queer people
Likes curvy girls and athletic guys mostly
I think he'd figure out he was into guys in some form because of Krum, but he wouldn't have the words for it and would bottle that up for years
Has ADHD
Would main Bowser & DK in Mario Kart but would also like the Koopalings
I think he'd really like video games and Muggle superhero comics but would be hopelessly lost trying to keep up with the lore. He strikes me as someone who would like Cyborg (Teen Titans)
Would like SpongeBob & probably other Nicktoons
I know people probably think of Rupert Grint's voice for him but when I hear Stephen Merchant I think of Ron. Especially his line delivery in Portal 2
Sleeps sprawled out. Limbs hitting all edges of the bed, drools if he's sleeping deep enough, snores constantly but not loud enough to be annoying
Usually big spoon or the one the others would lay on. A clinger
Would start getting the names of Muggle things wrong on purpose to annoy the others
HJG:
Bisexual, cis (she/her)
A bit of a pick-me at times but mostly because she has a weird relationship w/ her gender and doesn’t want to be boxed in by the roles/expectations of being a girl
Into gnc ladies. Found out because of Tonks
Mixed race, Black
Definitely autistic. The stereotypical “gifted kid” who always wanted to be the one to exceed expectations. Got told she was mature for her age by some adult in her life and her view of herself hadn't changed since
Would main Toad in Mario Kart or some misc quirky option like Wiggler
I don't feel like she'd be super into video games but I think she'd like some co-op games and visual novels
Likes Ace Attorney. Her favorite character is Mia
Likes murder mysteries in most media
This might be strange but I feel like voice-wise (sorry if you only hear Emma Watson, for some reason I just don't) it'd be kinda like Shiver from Splatoon 3? Of course without the underwater voice filter
Soldier sleep position. Weirdly stiff and doesn't move much even if someone jostles her around
Can be little or big spoon, prefers to just sleep on top of the others like a blanket
Trio:
Both platonic and Romionarry HCs
Would occasionally have a "girls' night" or a "boys' night." This would still just be the three of them, Ron would be an honorary girl and Hermione would be an honorary boy. And Harry is the same either way
For them, these are like nights where they get to indulge in things they might not usually do. So girls night might consist of makeup & outfits & sewing and boys night might consist of sports or masc outfits instead, etc. This would start when Harry realizes he's bigender to give him a safe space to experiment
Hermione knows fuck all about sports and can't play any to save her life, Harry and Ron can't sew for shit, all three of them would suck at makeup but its fun because they suck at it together
Would get together very slowly and it would probably not be something they have a conversation about. It just kinda happens. It'd be official after the Battle of Hogwarts but they'd basically be together the entire time they're friends lol
The more romantic aspects of their relationship would intensify probably mostly during 6th year and in the tent
They'd have a blast playing Jackboot party games. Like Quiplash and Trivia Murder Party
Might like DnD. I think Ron would be a fun DM
#romionarry#harry potter#ron weasley#hermione granger#golden trio#ronarry#harmione#romione#trans headcanon#headcanons#I don't know where else to put this but I feel so strongly that Ginny would main Dry Bones#anyways this is an incomplete list because I can't think of everything right now but ill def add more in the future#feel free to share any thoughts or hcs also!!

I refuse to believe that Abby doesn't let herself "be stupid". Are you telling me she isn't a little curious when Hoagie proposes this wild and wacky idea that'll get them in trouble? Liar.
I've stated this in my last post but I'll say it again, "acting stupid" is not a measure of intelligence. Abby is very emotionally intelligent, however I feel sometimes she needs to be a little impulsive and goofy, too. Maybe that's by sneakily pelting Nigel with candy, or annoying Hoagie by untucking his button-up from his pants.
I already lean off on the idea of her being a therapist or mom friend, and if I do lean into it, I make sure the viewer knows that there's major consequences to her mental health. I feel she was written to be a bit robotic in some seasons, where she didn't quite have normal human reactions at points that she should've. I feel that, at heart, her true personality is the ones we've seen in things like DOGHOUSE, or how she acts towards Nigel with an occasional back and forth mockery of each other. She can be quiet and reserved, but I don't think she's quiet and reserved because that's who she is. She's quiet and reserved because it keeps her safe and stress free. If she trusts someone, she becomes the type of person to always jab at you playfully and lovingly, or the person who has reactions so vivid that her reaction itself is almost just as funny as a joke.
She strikes me as one of those, "gifted child" autistics. So does Hoagie. The two of them are children who were expected from a young age to meet impossible standards, and were repeatedly shunned for not being able to. The two of them were treated as adults before they even had a chance to experience childhood. They're expected to be the level headed person in situations and come up with a solution, even though they're still a child with intense emotions and big confusions about the world. If either of them try to act like an actual child, they get snapped at and told to stop being a brat. This is probably why Hoagie is so socially anxious (in scenes where he isn't the butt of the joke) and why Abby is so quiet and reserved. If they trust someone, they'll show the part of themselves they hide for the convenience of others. This could work as a great way to show their relationship together and develop it.

am i the asshole for still wanting my plushes back?
the people involved in this story are me (currently 22m, he/him), and my sibling J (currently 23nb, they/them), and this story happened while we were children, couldn't be older than 7 or 8. i am also autistic, and have very strong attachments to objects, especially plushes, so keep that in mind.
so J and i are not blood related, they lived in an awful situation with their bio mom and grandma until they joined my family when we were about 3 and 4. i think of them as my real sibling, and we are pretty close now, so this is pretty low stakes overall.
because of the neglect and spoiling that their previous caretakers raised them with, the first few years J was settling into our family were difficult, to say the least. they were super fussy, materialistic, and downright mean and entitled. i know this is a cruel thing to say about a mistreated child, especially since they are not like this anymore and regret it now, but it was true at the time. i was a very social and cheerful kid, and i had an older sister too, so i knew better how to treat other kids. i was really gung ho about having a new sibling, and wanted to make friends with them right away, but they did not share that sentiment.
one game i really liked to play (that definitely sparked my love of escape rooms later in life) was a clue-trail scavenger hunt thing where you would follow the clues one after another and eventually find the prize at the end. my parents set up a few of those for us over my childhood, and i got fascinated with it and wanted to set up them up for myself.
i tried multiple times to get J to play my scavenger hunt with me, since i was proud of the hiding spots and the rhymes i wrote on the clues, but they were very icy to me and often refused any game i wanted to play.
so i got an idea, to entice them to play, by making some of my pokemon plushes the grand prizes at the end of the hunt.
now you have to keep in mind, this was the mid-2000s, these pokemon plushes are choice collectors items and they do not make them like this anymore. and after a generous birthday gift from my aunt when i was maybe 6, i had a bountiful selection of them, that i knew J was bitterly jealous of, and sometimes would try and steal.
so i knew this would work as a carrot to get them to play with me, and it did! but they were only playing so they could have the prize, so every time i wanted to play again, i would have to offer up another one of my plushes, and eventually i ran out of all the ones we agreed were good or interesting, and now as an adult, the few i have remaining from my massive childhood collection are the ugly ones, and it makes me really sad to see how gutted it is from its former glory.
over the years, we've gotten a lot closer and J's nasty childhood attitude has all but disappeared, and i feel safe saying we're besties and get along fantastically.
i asked a few times as we got older and i remembered this occurance if i could have the plushes back, though, and they've always responded with a vehement No. they say i gave it to them fair and square, and they consider them a gift from me. i've tried pointing out that i only did it cause it was the only way i could get them to play with me when we were kids, and i kinda regretted giving away such valuable things when i was too young to really think about it. J always got upset at that point and said they didnt like thinking about how they used to be and it wasn't fair that i brought that into the conversation.
i 100% see how i could be the asshole here, since i did technically give the plushes to them, but i still kinda think its not fair of J to not even consider giving some back, because i was a dumb kid who just wanted to connect with my mean sibling. i try not to bring up how they used to act anymore, though, because i can understand how it hurts them to think about, but it is relevant in this specific situation.
i haven't asked them for the plushes back in a long time, but i was thinking about it again. and this is pretty low stakes, it wont ruin our relationship or anything, so tumblr, aita for still thinking J should give them back?
What are these acronyms?

Hi! Since I saw the illustrator wally series I've been exited to request this, it was also sad to see how nobody has yet come with this idea or at least I haven't seen anyone else bring this up so here I come!
It will be interesting how It would work a relationship between Human wally and reader who has maladaptive daydreaming along with autism, I thought of how would it be to meet someone who has to experience something familiar with you. ( since maladaptive daydreaming can be described as a variant of schizophrenia with some small differences ) anyways, I'm a desperate for representation-
ET TU, BRUTE? Omg I maladaptive daydream too (if I am reading it right and you mean to say that you do IT-). My therapist says that I am like, addicted to it lol. My family counselor also likened my case more towards depersonalization/dissociation/a variant of DID due to me only daydreaming myself as other people. This is actually the first time I have heard of it being described as a variant of schizophrenia, but it actually makes a lot of sense, now that I think about it! I need more representation too, so let's do this! I'll try to make it as broad as possible, because everyone daydreams about different things!
Illustrator Wally with an Autistic Reader who Maladaptive Daydreams:
TW: Mentions of Hallucinations, Maladaptive Daydreaming
🖍️ He is a bit confused when he sees you pacing around your living room. He is visiting, and decided to try to surprise you by sneaking up behind you and giving you a gift! Now, though, he is a bit enamored by how you are prancing around, muttering little things to yourself as you seem so carefree and happy in your little world. This is the first time he has seen you like this.
🖍️ You finally end up turning around, in his direction, and your face grows a bit pale from shock and embarrassment. "Uh... Hello... I'm so glad you came to visit!" You try to play it off, but he is too intrigued. Maybe you are like him, and hallucinate, too?
🖍️ You explain what you were doing. You daydream... WAY more often than other people! Intense worldbuilding, character arcs, and more all take place in your head the majority of the day. You like to prance or pace, finding it helpful to feel more comfortable. You also tend to stim in other ways if you cannot pace or prance. The odd facial expressions and mutterings were just you getting in character and reacting to what was happening in your daydreams.
🖍️ Wally is intrigued. It is so... similar, but different, from him. Both you and him are autistic, yes. He's known that for a while, since you told him around the second or third meeting between you two. THIS, though, is so amazing to him. He wants to know more about the stories in your head!
🖍️What do they consist of? Are they horror? Romance? Action? Comedy? He wishes to know. Are you in them? Do you play someone else? Is it from a third person perspective, watching over your creations? If it is something child friendly, maybe you can write a book and he can illustrate it!
🖍️ Even if it is something more... dark, disturbing, overall NOT a kid friendly topic... he would still want to draw it! Maybe he can start to expand his illustrations into more adult books. He is shockingly good at drawing horror, you know. Some of his vent art is a really disturbing treat to view.
🖍️ You might get onto the topic of how both of your conditions are similar and different. You have a lot of characters floating around in your head. Different worlds, stories, everything! Wally does have, in a way, characters, too! The little voices in his head count, right? Sometimes the same one will pop up every now and again. Both of your conditions seem, in a way, uncontrolled. Due to Wally preferring to not use medications, he simply lives with the voices and hallucinations, going to therapy to help him cope and learn to live with it. You just go with the flow, in a way. As far as you've heard, the best and only way to help deal with it is therapy. No real medication or anything.
🖍️ You both are finally happy to find someone similar to yourselves. The best part is that it is similar enough to be familiar, but different enough to have such interesting conversations!

This sounds like a weird question, but do u have any Mk angst hcs?
I hc she has gifted child burnout and that her dad passed when she was in middle school (he was a cop)
....you rlly shouldnt have asked anon.....
i like psychoanalizing characters for breakfast if you couldnt tell already (CRINGE BELOW!!!!! WEEWOOWEEWOO!!! IM TAKING CHARACTERS THAT ARE MEANT TO BE FUNNY AND ANALIZING THEM TO THEIR VERY CORE!!!)
MK ANGST HEADCANONS!!
☆ mk is autistic, and struggles with her social life, so that's why she doesn't have any friends and downright hated the idea of having them. She had slowly developed a more antisocial personality prior to the show, and hence why her lines in s1 have a bit of an awkard delivery to them. (they sounded awkward to me alr!!!)
☆ i also believe she is a case of gifted kid burnout!!!she was oh so smart back in primary and middle school, always praised by the teachers for her performance and whatnot.
when she got to highschool she suddenly felt overwhelmed by it all, every task was suddenly too much and studying was a horrifying experience, as she didn't really need to study before.
i believe as some gifted children do, they base their value on their academic performance as thats all the adults can really seem to compliment them in. so when she starts failing she suddenly started to hate herself more– as if she was slowly losing her worth and therefore isn't worthy of love (idk if its true for all gifted kids but i can say its true from my experience)
☆ hates expressing emotion due to emotional neglect from the world around her. she was never acknowledged emotionally and therefore she started to not care either. (in canon not in my au)
☆ "i always get underestimated!" her way to cope with the fact that she's always a second thought on someone else's mind– she resorts to stealing as her way to express in her rebellious teenage mind that she wants to be noticed by someone. to actually be cared about in someone elses mind
☆ she actually doesnt know julia likes her but in a neurodivergent kinda way– she understands to a surface level teenager stuff as she has been observing her classmates play and talk with each other in solitude, but hasn't experienced it firsthand. so when she tells julia if she likes her and julia gets all flustered, she can't genuinely tell what's going on.
☆ emotionally-repressed-gifted-burnout-autistic-llesbian mk my beloved !!! :333
#total drama#td mk#total drama mk#angst is my bread and butter anon!!!! nananan soo#idk if mk being autistic is 100% correct and loyal to her character buut i think it wld make sense for her to be autistic to a degree#i might be projecging... maybee... uhhh... hi#please ignore this its soo fnndkzkddksnns please focus on my drawkngs🥰🥰dnt mind mee#rambling rambling...

Hi Zimt!
So. You know how Near went to public school for a bit?
Do you have any headcanons on that?
I often imagined him in that scenario and the result honestly is pure chaos.
First of all, I think he kept tabs on everyone on a notebook, from the teachers to his classmates, and at some point someone finds his notes and he gets in real trouble because he was really straightforward about it. When asked why he was doing it he answered that it was a writing exercise, but actually he was just practicing reading people. Which lead to him writing down lots of awkward hypothesis on people’s behaviour that ended up offending them. Also he guessed a lot of the most embarrassing stuff about the school staff, like secret shenanigans and who hid a secret stash of cigarettes where and things like that.
He definitely had a fight with a teacher because he would be doing complicated stuff without following the instructions, like:
N: But Miss, the answer to 47x8 really is 376
Teacher: Nate, there is no way you could guess that out of thin air, please (very frustrated) just do the operation like I explained you.
(No idea if in your AU he did enough elementary school for his class to do multiplications, but still)
You could draw a parallel with Mello on that one, or with Light even.
In a normal classroom they probably would have been able to respectively show up the teacher about the stupidity of the question and show off to the teacher about how easily he handles it. Near however would not even be able at that time to understand why it is being asked in the first place, because he struggles to fully grasp the fact that the other children are not at his level. It all seems so easy to him.
Which lead young Nate to pick the lock of his teacher’s desk drawer to read his classmates’s child-level answers to tests and understand what they were doing right that he was apparently doing wrong.
He got in trouble for that too.
He said that he was doing research.
His teachers were very frustrated with his attitude. It’s the nineties, so they don’t really know or care on how to deal with his autism.
Also, do you think he got bullied?
Since children can really be jerks probably yes, and with that sassy attitude he probably spent his share of hours inside a locker.
He definitely corrected all the insults directed to him, (often mistaking insults for simple errors) like:
“No Jason, I am not retarded, I am autistic, asperger autistic, which means that it’s not that evident, but it doesn’t affect my cognitive abilities in any way-“
“Don’t be ridiculous Charles, of course I am not a girl, why would you make such an assumption? We go to the same bathroom.”
Etc.
Also, this one might be a bit exaggerated, but I imagine him being so bored of his own homework that he corrupted one of the older kids to let him do theirs, and when people started to get suspicious and they wanted to back out Nate threatened to let everyone know their secret plus other stuff he found out about his accomplice to use as blackmail for this specific scenario.
The kid reached out to an adult as he was very scared of Near.
Near didn’t mean to scare them, he was just testing if something he saw on TV actually worked in real people.
Poor kid probably had to change a lot of schools.
What do you think?
I can't muster up the energy to draw something for this but I don't want this to be rotting in my ask box any longer cause I think it's absolutely lovely <3 It's so well thought through and lively, I can see all of that happening!
Must be so frustrating for a nighly gifted kid to be constantly corrected and critisised despite knowing they're in the right. I wonder if it made Near feel like he's dumb at some point.
#ask#thank you so much for this anon#keeping it in my notes#will most likely come back to this one day

(When someone asks Rough & Tumble about their ages)
Rough : Oh, I'm 4, and Tumble is 6 !
Mimic : What. You two are not that fucking young!
Starline : Not to mention you're twins.
Tumble : Yeah, We're twins. We just don't share a birthday.
Zavok : What?
Rough : Yeah! Every year, we fight to see who's birthday it's gonna be.
Tumble : And whoever wins turns a year older! The looser stays the same!
(Zavok quietly trying to do the math in his head)
Starline : Do you two at least know how old you were when you started this... tradition?
Rough : Nope.
Tumble : No idea.
(Zavok quietly gives up on the math)
Mimic : Do you two even know the day you were fucking born?
Rough : Nah, we just picked a random day.
Mimic : Fair.
Starline : Pardon?
Zavok : I can't say I've paid close attention to you Mobians and your smaller ages, but I'd say they're about the age you consider teenagers, just based on their behavior.
Mimic, getting flashbacks to having to work with Whisper during the original Diamond Cutters : Not again....
Tumble : Yeah, we can get behind that! We're uh- We're Sonic's age! How old is Sonic again?
Mimic : I don't know, maybe fifteen? Is he still fifteen?
Rough : Yeah! We're fifteen!
Tumble : Yep! We're fifteen now!
Starline : That's.... That's not how it - (tired and somewhat defeated sigh) Alright.
- Context & Headcanons under cut -
I was going to take this as an opportunity to show off the Bumblekast clip of Ian Flynn talking about how Rough & Tumble celebrate their birthday only to find out that I accidentally lost or deleted the screen recording at some point.
It does not help that because I'm Autistic and, therefore, struggle to read black text, making the concept of going through the Q&A Masterlist a nightmare.
Not to mention, I don't remember what year that question was from 🥲
[ Not mad just mildly annoyed that I lost the clip ]
But yeah, this incorrect quote post basically explains the Bumblekast's lore (based on my memory of it).
They don't know their actual birthday.
They picked a random date.
And they fight over who's birthday it is.
As for my headcanons :
Rough & Tumble are teenagers. High school age.
When Mimic was younger, he got annoyed about others trying to do things for his birthday (He does not like attention and has no idea how to accept kindness or gifts) so he just erased his date of birth from any records as he got older. He still knows his age and the year he was born. He just doesn't really have any specific day anymore.
The Original Diamond Cutters ages are wacky imo. Headcanon : Everyone in the team, except Whisper was an adult. Whisper was taken in as either a Tween or young Teen.

Hiii! I liked your post on Moondancer. Do you have some AU based on this idea? Maybe? Please????
Well, story goes like this: ponies live pretty long, especially those who use a lot of magic. Be it direct application or study. Thus having children with reletively big age gaps is normal.
So by the time Twilight Velvet and Night Light had fraternal triplets Twilight Sparkle, Starlight Glimmer and Moon Dancer (which was a real surprise - alive, healthy triplets are an extremely rare occurance in horses in general), they already had an adult son named Shining Armor. Shining was a very smart, capable, responsible and gentlecolt in general but alas had like zero interest in magic outside of what was necessary for his duties as a leader of the Royal Guard. So as you might have guessed their parents were overjoyed when it turned out that fillies are into magic and such.
Speaking of Shining: he was also married to a pegasus mare called Sky Lulaby {because I don't like Cadance, but in this house we respect folks who like her, thus let's say it's stil Cadance, only she has never ascended to alicornhood in this universe, her color scheme is less ugly and she never babyset Twilight either. Otherwise, I'm sure, Twilight would have had descent peop...I mean pony skills then, and we all know this is not the case}.
So our girls were very close as fillies. Since their parents used to study an ancient structure (its' magical properties in case of dad and whatever we call pony analogy of anthropology in mom's case) from before Current Era, and they basically lived near the site. As you might have guessed there weren't many kids of their age around.
Later, their family moved to Canterlot. Their parents became professors at the Royal Canterlot University and our fillies were accepted into Queen Celetia's School For Gifted Unicorns.
At first everything went great. Twilight, Starlight Glimmer and Moon Dancer {we shall call them Twi, Glim and Moony from now on for simplicity sake} made a lot of friends, school was just awesome. In the begining our young unicorns struggled very much with Magical Arts as they were homeschool and only knew spells with practical use and not much theory behind them, but as weeks went by they've gotten better. Spectacularly so.
Around the end of their first school year, professors from the univercity came to test foals for magic potential. Strandard procedure, nothing out of ordinary. Moon Dancer did great - her potential was bigger than most of her peers. Starlight Glimmer manager to beat her. But then professors went to test Twilight...
And the school exploded.
Literally.
Oops.
High Queen Celestia was immediately notified. And she came to check herself. Results were stunning: not only Twilight's potential was far greater than of her sisters' or anyone her age or any age (minus High Queen herself of course), it was something never seen before.
But such power requires tight control so Celestia decided that she needs to step in (blow dust from her teaching skills) and finally take another pupil after a long break. Though, High Queen or not, Celestia still went and asked if Twilight's parents mind.
They didn't but were concerned over moving out at such an early age. Celestia agreed to wait at least until filly will be what is our analogue of highschooler.
Velvet and Night Light were shocked. Twilight herself was very excited. So were Glim and Moony. Shining was amused, to say the least, but he was very proud of his little sisters.
Yet, one fo the professors called Twi's parents with certain concerns over their daughters' development - further tests showed that Twi is a patterner {pony analogue of an autistic person}. The whole situation also meant that Twi will have to go to the different classes that will tailored with her specific needs in mind.
{My headcannon is that ponies being extremely social creatures try to accomodate their ND & disabled folk the best way possible and not only at this "royal" level but in general}.
Time went by and little by little Glim and Moony started to get jealous of their sister. At first they tried to fight these feelings.
"Sure Twi needs more attention, she's patterner, we should help her adjust and help with things she is not very good with, right? Like, she helps us with homework..."
"She is our sister, we should be proud of her..."
"What would mom say if she finds out we think bad of her..."
Twilight on the other hoof, also tried to do her best at being a good sister.
But as it often happens, sisters started to slowly drift apart. Due to differences in schedules they saw Twi less and less.
Little jealousy turned big and with time evolved into frustrated resentment. It's hard to compare to a pony whose special interest and life passion is magic and whose special talent is magic and who is also exceptionally smart. And certainly no-one will take constantly feeling like a failure all the time well.
Sure it took time but special treatment went into Twi's head. She was really excellent. Probably too much for her own good.
Her confidence evolved into arrogance and then into a smug feeling of superiority. And if at first she at least tried to hide this attitude aroundher relatives, somewhere around high school she finally dropped all pretence. Approximately, at was the same time she was taken in by Celestia. Eventually she started to think of High Queen as of her mother and her contact with her birth family ceased into almost nothing. Like, she still would send them holiday cards. But pretty much this was it.
Glim turned her resenment and frustration into a fuel for a truly raging fire. She decided - buck this Twilight Sparkle and her smugness! She will be better than her! This mare sucks at pony interaction? Good! That's where she will go! Thus Glim did all she could to get into Diplomacy Facility of the Canterlot Univercity. The further from Twilight, the better! Passed her exams with flying colours and never looked back. Okay, not really, since Glim had always been very much of daddy's filly. But instead of a diplomat she became a known socialite, who is traveling around the world, promoting Equestrian values in a peaceful way, and sends her family lavish gifts and mile-long letters. Oh, also her speciality? Illusion Magic. Almost the only type of magic Twi never could quite grasp.
Why of course Starlight Glimmer can't be a spy! It would be just silly, right? Pone, Agent Glimmer Pone.
Moony, on the other hoof, fell into a deep depression yet studied like a mad mare for her degree. Her friends kept her afloat as much as they could but their concerns over her health grew. Her mother, however, noticed at something is wrong. And asked Sunburst who was in the same class as her. Sunburst told Moony's friends. And after Minuette, Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts finally spilled the beans, older mare firmly decided that her filly needs to see a specialist.
Specialist suggested to get away from a stressful sittuation. Vacation sure should help. They heard, her sister is a famous traveller, so why not to take an academic vacation for a year and visit her?
But before any of this could have being brought into making, Moony run into Twi by an accident.
They were amused to see each other.
At first.
But word by word conversation turned into an argument. And ended in a magical confrontation. Moon Dancer was no match for her sister sadly.
Wait, where did this energy shield came from?!
Fortunately for Moony, Shining Armor happened to be in the area. He heard sounds of a fight and went to check. Unfortunately for Twi, it also meant that shovel is a great weapon went used at the right moment.
Shining was terrified: one of his sisters essentially tried to kill another in cold blood. How is he going to explain this to their mother?
Or to Celestia... And High Queen was livid when she learned about the incident.
So yeah, and that's how Twilight went to Poniville - exile was better than time in prison.

Sorry, but "It's an AU" and "I can't please everyone" are two complete cop-out statements. They do not make a piece of fiction immune to criticism. It's not the reader's fault for trying to apply real life to writing at times because that's what we draw upon when we consume a piece of fiction. It's like asking someone to keep an open mind to rape, just because it isn't happening to someone real. We read because we care about what happens to the characters. The dynamic is dysfunctional and upsetting because it isn't that healthy, and maybe it's because I'm autistic but I can't understand where everyone comes from when they say 'Sephiroth is being so cute' when he takes an unwilling person (I went back, he was 9 YEARS OLD) who was a child, had no idea what he signed up for, or that he was signed up for anything at all, and made into a sex slave an adult. I'm willing to concede that Sephiroth is too powerful to resist him, but at some point Sephiroth even gives him the power to withstand the constant abuse so it's EASIER for him to abuse him. And he does so, once again, without Cloud's consent to his own bodily autonomy. Sephiroth isn't being a good person, therefore Cloud shouldn't be falling in love with him. Even Cloud tries to appease him with other gifts and offerings to mitigate some of the embarrassingly poorly, through sweet and endearing gestures that would be acceptable to a human being, but Sephiroth just continues to abuse him and taunt him while he does so. And people think it's sooo hot. It isn't. Sorry, not sorry.
Have you considered that dubcon and power dynamics might be a trigger for you? Anon, if you have that boundary, then you need to be responsible enough to avoid media that has that kind of material. Asking writers to curtail their writing to your wants and needs is unreasonable and unfair.
Sephiroth is a villain. He has manipulated Cloud multiple times in canon and appears to continue to do so in Rebirth. His whole shtick is to taunt and abuse Cloud whenever he shows up on screen (no matter what universe), and Sephiroth isn't sorry about it.
In the story, Sephiroth is a god. He doesn't care about humans and doesn't give a rat's ass that Cloud was 9 when he saved his life. All he cares about is that Cloud owes him and sex is how he wants Cloud to repay him. Saying "Cloud shouldn't be falling in love with him" is a moot point, since physical intimacy often creates a very strong emotional bond between humans, even if they don't want it to. Would it be abusive in real life? Sure. But that's applying human logic to a god in a fictional story. Sephiroth is a god and doesn't understand it the same way Cloud does.
At the Altar doesn't appear to be the piece of fiction you're looking for. It's fiction and people can decide how to interpret the character's actions however they want. If they think it's hot? Well, it's fiction. If they think it's abusive? Well, it's fiction.
Even without fanfiction, Sefikura already has a lot of dysfunctional and unhealthy themes. Bodily autonomy is basically non-existent, considering Sephiroth canonically mind-controls Cloud to bring him the Black Materia. Sephiroth is not a nice person in canon (after Crisis Core, anyway) and saying that he is or that he should be respecting Cloud's autonomy is outright laughable.
If people think it's cute or hot or sexy, that's on them to decide. If you don't, then that's on you to decide. But don't go around deciding for other people that "it shouldn't be cute (or hot)" and saying that you're hoping I "consider wrapping up the story soon" because it's not what you want to read. If you don't like it, then don't read it and move on.
#sefikura#ao3 comment#you don't have to like it anon#it just means that the work wasn't meant for you

Fic Reader Highlights from this year! Thanks @mostlymaudlin for putting this together! This is such a lovely idea.
Fic that made me laugh: Worst Disney Princess Ever by @hushed-chorus.
So technically I listened to Demi read this in the discord, but who's counting. This is such a cute and fun fic in the absolute best way. The pigeons! The undead plotting rats! Baz's resignation to being the Disney princess with his undead animals 😂 Demi, hearing you read this was my first time reading (or listening) to this fic, and it was INCREDIBLE.
Fic that made me cry: you never quite say (but i hear) by @that-was-anticlimactic.
Yeah, this fic made me sob. It reminded me so much of my best friend, who also has ADHD and a loud voice and loves talking about their special interests. I adore them so much and love listening to them talk, even if I don't really get DND. I remember immediately sending them this fic after reading it. This is such a special fic. I absolutely adore it, and Zuko is the best boyfriend.
Honorary mention to He's Cruel But You Don't Have to Be by notanotherfanficwriter. Definitely made me cry. Soren's character arc, especially in Finnegrin's Wake, is incredibly cathartic.
Fic that gave me a story hangover: None Of Those Tiny Fluff Monsters In The House by @roxan1930.
Whatever a story hangover is, this definitely gave me it. I ended up naming one of my micropets in the Finch self-care app Poof because of it. I sometimes go back and reread parts of it because it's just That good and fun.
Fic I want to discuss book-club style: The Gay Bar by @scone-lover.
I think the Carry On discord actually has discussed this one before! It was very very lovely. Both the discussion and the fic. I ended up making a cover of this fic. The fic is so lovely and a very real depiction of queer experiences. Sconey, you are a gift to this fandom.
Fic that got me a lil flustered: Symbiotic by @thrandilf.
Um, yes. Hello. I am very very bisexual for a slutty gay practically-a-god elf tying up another slutty gay pretty-much-a-vampire elf and letting her drink from him. Thank you.
Fic by one of my favorite authors: Blooming by @hoothalcyon.
If you only read one neurodivergent ruthari fic, read this one. It's a collection of oneshots with autistic Runaan and supportive husband Ethari, and is so SO sweet and wonderful. Each chapter is a little slice of warmth and happiness to cut through the difficulties of life. And it's just so lovely seeing autistic adults being written about.
Fic I reread more than once: Keep You Safe by Tragicomic_Warrior_Poet
Just... Hakoda being a good dad to Zuko. Yeah. I love seeing that in zukka fics. I come back to reread this one a lot. Hakoda is such a good dad, and you can definitely tell how much he loves his kids. (And how much he cares about Zuko.)
Fic I sent to everyone I know: On the Edge of Morning by LassieLowrider
I love seeing the Carry On characters being disabled. I don't agree with Baz's leg being healed, and I really wish Simon being neurodivergent was touched on more in the books. So you better believe I sent this to the Carry On discord when I found it! It's such a wonderful slice of life fic <22
Fic that made me fall in love with an author: how familiar the danger by LiterallyThePresident (so sad I don't know if this author has a Tumblr)
So cheating a bit by doing a series for this one. But eh, rules were made to be bended. This series is SO DAMN GOOD. GO READ IT. AND THERE'S ART BY @sefarlen!!! Knight Ambrosius helping out slutty flirtatious commoner Ballister and them having an enemies to reluctant/tentative allies to lovers? FUCK YEAH, SIGN ME UP.
Gonna go ahead and tag some folks if you're interested in participating! Tagging everyone who's tagged above plus @bazzybelle @stitchyqueer @valeffelees @imagineacoolusername @artsyunderstudy @aristocratic-otter @captain-aralias @theearlgreymage @confused-bi-queer @no-cinnamon-for-synonym @yeonjunenby @yurayuramiharin @you-remind-me-of-the-babe @youarenevertooold @carryonsimoncarryonbaz @beautifulterriblequeen @cutestkilla @wellbelesbian @nightimedreamersworld @iamamythologicalcreature and anyone else who wants to! 💖💖

What is Young Wizards, is it anything like The Aepects by L C Mawson at all????
(And if it isn't that's even more of an excuse to Tell Us About Young Wizards!! Win-win!!!)
AHHH YES. We could talk about Young Wizards literally for hours.
So. It's, in a nutshell, a series by @/dduane Diane Duane, about teenagers who get the ability to use magic, which is enacted primarily by use of the wizardly language The Speech, in exchange for using it to fight the Lone Power who created death and entropy. The main wizard characters are Nita Callahan, a nerdy bookworm with an affinity for plants; her best friend Kit Rodriguez, who has an affinity for mechanical things; and Nita's little sister Dairine, who is a geek whose Wizards manual is a walking laptop. The books are incredibly inventive, with places in them like an alternate universe Manhattan where cars and other vehicles are alive; multiple distant planets, each with amazing aliens; the bottom of the ocean; Ireland where the myths really are true; a Mars where people's ideas of Mars from various forms of media including War of the Worlds and Marvin the Martian from Looney Tunes are present.
They're also beautifully diverse and life affirming. The Senior Advisory wizards are a gay couple. Kit is Hispanic. One major side character is black and autistic. There's other various queer characters. The series deals with serious topics like bullying, cancer, death and loss. But there's a throughthread of determination and hope.
Also, supportive adults! Parents who really care about their kids and support their wizardry! Family dynamics that are actually really good! (Most of the time. Nita and Dairine have their moments lol.)
And then there's the Oath. It's so wonderful, we patterned our Code of Conduct partly on it. There's many different versions, but the one we love the most is as follows:
In Life's name and for Life's sake, I assert that I will employ the Art which is Its gift in Life's service alone, rejecting all other usages. I will guard growth and ease pain. I will fight to preserve that which grows and lives well in its own way. Nor will I change any creature unless its growth or life or that of the system of which it is a part are threatened, or threaten another.
To these ends, in the practice of my Art, I will ever put aside fear for courage, and death for life, when it is right to do so, looking always to the Heart of Time where all our sundered times are one and all our myriad worlds lie whole in That from which they preceeded.
Also an art version of the Oath:
I can't seem to find the original creator of the art, it was someone on Tumblr but Tumblr search isn't helping, as usual.
We want two tattoos based on this series. One would be Wizard's Knot plus the first little part of the Oath, "In Life's name and for Life's sake". The other would be the traditional greeting of the Lone Power: "Fairest and Fallen, greetings and defiance." Probably would have that one surrounding the semicolon for depression survival, as suicidality is our personal battle with this universe's version of the Lone Power.
They're also super cheap to get as ebooks through the author's own website, as long as you're not in the UK due to Brexit.
We cannot recommend this series highly enough. If you do end up buying the series and reading it, let us know! We'd love to hear what you think. :)

Ahkmenrah is autistic because I’m autistic and I said so. Here’s some HCs:
The others started to notice symptoms after he was finally let free from the sarcophagus. At first they weren’t sure if it was just trauma from being trapped or autism. Came to the conclusion it was both
Had no idea what that even meant because he’s literally ancient. Larry had to explain it in detail
Everything made sense after that
Refuses any food that isn’t relatively soft because it ‘feels yucky in my mouth’
All those dangly gems he wears are perfect stim toys
Likes the weight of his crown and cloak, feels wrong without them on
Discovered documentaries and instantly had a new special interest. He’s ALWAYS watching some random documentary that’s available in the gift shop.
Can’t stand still, always rocking or tapping feet.
Pants? Sensory nightmare. Skirts or robes only
Get them tight ass mummy wraps OFF- sensory ICK.
Bouncy happy stim
Quickly learnt to not fiddle with the tablets tiles as a stim toy because it causes magic mischief.
Loud noise yucky, keeps his exhibit nice and quiet so he can retreat into it when the museum gets too loud.
Shaky hands stim
Touches a gross texture by accident and gets intense spine shivers followed by disgusted Egyptian rambling akin to “ew ew stop no gross”
Hyper focus one moment, complete lack of interest the next
Parallel play, but like in an adult way. Doesn’t need to talk or interact with people but just being in the same room and doing the same thing is enough to be considered socialising for him.
Over compensates for lack of eye contact by going ‘oh right I have to look interested’ and just ends up staring for too long by accident
Can just spend hours watching his cloak and robes be all flowy when he spins around. Makes him giggle all happy because ooo sensory seeking
If he bumps into something he has to do it again on the other side because sensory symmetry
