idk if this is even a hot take anymore but ghostbur's post death lore was pointless ableist misery porn portraying the suffering of a mentally disabled man solely to get a reaction from the audience and one that reduced him to a sad child who could be forever satisfied with one singular thing despite being isolated cold and in constant agony when ghostbur is a grown ass man with goals and aspirations and one who’s not just a prop who’s happiness depends on other people solely and who’s so dehumanised his pain is written as irrelevant. it’s just ableism towards intellectually disabled people for the sake of cheap emotions that reduces his humanity down to friend the sheep and doesn’t give a shit about his suffering otherwise.

Hiya :) I've been getting into DSMP animatics, and I love seeing the different interpretations of the character designs even though I only have a vague sense of the lore so far. It's all got cool vibes!! Can I request a drawing of Ranboo or Wilbur, or maybe even both? I'm not sure if they actually ever interact in the story or not, but I'd say interpret the prompt however you want and have fun??

My @ on Quotev is BlueB00 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The sound of TNT pierced through my brain as I ran, my legs slowly burning, running up the grassy plains hill towards the noise of the TNT.

"TOMMY! WILBUR! PHIL!!" I screeched, my voice trying painfully to squeeze through the echo of the TNT noises.

Suddenly, a voice through the noise screamed back, although not at me.

"C'mon Phil! JUST DO IT! KILL ME! KILLZA! KILLZA!"

Phil. Someone was screaming at PHIL to kill them. I tried hurtfully to pinpoint the voice, and failed miserably until I heard it scream a second time. "JUST FUCKIN' DO IT! C'MON KILLZA!!" 

The voice was easy to read now. It was Will, and he was yelling at Phil, his own father, to kill him. I ran towards the voice, my feet pounding against the soil and grass beneath me, as I watched the horizon of we're the TNT was exploding come into view.

My feet burned, my head pounded from the noise surrounding me, but I continued to run through my pain until I shocking site came into my view. Phil was standing above WIilbur, his feet planted at both sides of his chest, a diamond sword in hand. Will was grinning like a mad man but somehow still had tears streaming down his cheeks.

"WILBUR!" I screeched and watched as Will's head twitched towards me, his grin turning into a sad half smile. Phil looked at me with a look of terror in his eyes, and I wondered what was going through his head. 

"I'm sorry..." Phil mouthed towards me, and Wilbur likely noticed because his grin returned and he spoke for the last time.

"It was never mean't to be..." And before I could utter another cry, the diamond sword in Phil's hand plunged into Will's stomach. I screamed a painful, high pitched noise. 

The sound of the TNT faded out, and I dropped to my knees and wiped tears from my swollen eyes. "Y/N! Y/N!" A different voice yelled, one that wasen't Phil or Tommy's... I gulped. Or Wilburs. 

I spun around I stared up teary-eyed at Niki, her pink hair fluttering in her face, as she too locked teary eyes with me. "I'm sorry..." She whispered as she dropped to her knees with me and brought me into a hug, where I sobbed against her shoulder.

This can't be happening, I thought to myself as the tears continued out of me.

"Y/N! Y/N! Wake up!"

A voice prodded at my mind, and suddenly, Niki, the sound of TNT, and my sorrow all faded away from me.

"Y/N? Y/N wake up!" The voice that had forced me out of my memory shook my brain, the noise echo throughout my entire body. 

Or so it felt.

My E/C eyes fluttered open slowly, catching a quick glimpse at the ceiling and bright white walls of my bedroom. The voice that spoke shook me from what I felt was internal, but rather I was being shaken by an outward presence, specifically Philza.

"Mornin' Sleepyhead!" Phil said, his voice booming against the walls. It was loud, yet peaceful somehow. I rolled over onto my side, the full view of Phil's body.

Phil was a tall man with an average build, blonde hair that flew into his eyes, baby blue eyes, and he wore a green and white striped bucket hat, a strange green V-neck shawl that looked almost like a kimono, a long black cape and of course, his iconic black raven wings that stretched out against his back. 

I stared at Phil's form for a second before tucking back under into the pile of blankets on the top of my messy, unmade bed. "Oh C'mon Y/N, you gotta wake up sometime!" Phil said, half aggressive, half pleading with me. 

I sighed and shuffled out of the blankets before sitting up and staring out toward my bedroom, forcing myself not to look at Phil. Phil grumbled something as he moved towards my bed, but I quickly shuffled away.

"Nightmare again?" I nodded, still avoiding the gaze of Philza.

Phil sighed. "Why don't you get dressed and go see Niki?" Phil asked me as, out of the corner of my eye, I watched him fiddle with a piece of his blonde hair.

I shrugged and before I could say anything else, the door knob on my door clicked and I listened to Phil step out.

The one time he took it outside, Revivebur hid it too well and caused Ghostbur to burst into tears after telling him he lost it

Revivebur was grounded for a month and they let Ghostbur choose what they had for Dinner after they found Friend again

Is technically older than Revivebur by a few minutes? But Ghostbur doesn't care, and Revivebur will MURDER HIM if he even so much as mentions it

Due to him also having more visible Phantom qualities compared to his brothers, he has the ability to turn translucent

Although, BECAUSE Of this, his skin is much more sensitive than it'd be normally

Asides from not being a big fan of certain textures and sounds, he also isn't that big of a fan of being by himself

For a second request: Philza and Ghostbur interacting! Ive always found this idea SO interesting. Like, that's your son that you killed interacting with you even though it's not technically your son but he looks like him and kinda sounds like him but it's NOT him. The mental toll that would take.

Day 6 - So many friends!

man i love ghostbur so much. he's so nostalgic to me because he's the era i first started watching and he was the first character i became attached to... he is so endearing and more complex than people grant him credit for and he's so tragic because he's a character who isn't a character. but he doesn't know that. his whole existence is centred around the fact that he is only a fragment of a self he only remembers flashing details of but that everyone has taught him indirectly to view as a monster. he rejects a self that on some level he has to know is himself because it's the only way to separate himself from that big bad ghost (ha) of his past and be accepted. does he even let himself think about it? and then when he's revived and revivebur rejects him the exact same way ghostbur rejected alivebur... something something constantly adapting yourself to the current expectation of those around you to fit in even if it means shedding versions of yourself like old coats and pretending that killing that old self is what accountability is. my god

Philza as Barry: works very well both for the Lover (in a familial dad sense) and for the necromancy associations! His work with the Raven Queen (Kristin) is part of what inspired him to come up with the Lich plan. I also thought Philza’s immense technical knowledge mapped on well to Barry’s scientist forbidden magic academics (read: DORKINESS). Also imagine in this AU that Philza would last longer than Phandalin (hard mode ofc) but would still end up dying since he’s developed a very nonchalant relationship to death between the lost century and the necromancy, and the fact that sometimes a flip just switches in Phil’s brain and he decides to be very chaotic, and given the lost century that probably heightened into an insane level of recklessness.

Techno as Magnus: He’s the fighter? He’s a folk hero from a humble origin (carpentry, farming)? He loves dogs? He’s led revolutions to free people from tyranny? About the only thing that distinguishes them is Magnus Rushes In and Techno preps like hell, but Techno is also cocky enough to fling himself into battle and trust he’ll win it. Instead of being trained by the bear, Techno trained with a boar and wears a skin still even if he can’t remember why. And I made him an orc, because I can. Techno made the chalice because it would give infinite time to figure out the perfect strategy and execute it flawlessly. Also, he became a blood themed Lich alongside Tubbo and Philza, though because he isn’t a natural magic user his form is a lot more unstable, prone to falling into bloodrages. The chanting voices of the people he’s bonded with try to still hold him together, pushing him towards violence since he needs extra heightened emotions to maintain himself.

Ranboo as Lucretia: I REALLY debated having Ranboo as Davenport, but I think Lucretia won out despite Davenport’s heightened memory loss. Ranboo’s memory book is actually from their journal keeping for the mission logs, which they have diligently kept as a habit from before the lost century due to their spotty memory. And now that they’re the only one who can remember their family, Ranboo is extra terrified of losing that information. I designed the abjuration bubbles to look like ended pearls, but they’re more so related to the panic room, trying to block out everything to finally make everyone safe.

Ghostbur as Merle: I think the mellow more optimistic personality of Ghostbur matched well with Merle. This cleric of Pan was so filled with life that when his body died he just kept going! This is also why Kravitz is so desperate to get him also, since a ghost blatantly walking around is just an insult. The Gaia sash is a lot more animal than plant centric, and is mostly used as a leash for Friend. He also forgets to heal people since he doesn’t remember how damage works with living people. Plus, crummy dad trying to reconnect with Fundy. He’s a beach dwarf since Sally was a fish, and he’s weird about aquatic life instead of plants.

Alivebur as Davenport: It’s about being the leader of a nation/crew under the pressure of an overpowered overwhelming foe bearing down to crush you like a bug, over, and over. The defacto face of the operation, losing himself to it, too. When Wilbur dies, L’manburg detonates alongside him but limps along as a husk; when the crew is obliviated, Davenport is destroyed alongside it but limps along as a husk. And also the way he becomes bitter over time, crushed under the weight of being the captain. “Haven’t we earned a little wrath”/“Lets be the bad guys”. Made the oculus because he’s about making ambitious visions into reality.

And the Hunger. On the astral plane, the ever watching smiles trying to find the Light of Creation. He sees the attachments, the bonds tying all together, that the crew uses to escape and fight against him relentlessly, and finds them disgusting. And if he can just get this small server crew into line, then nothing will stand in his way.

DSMP X TAZ BALANCE

When registering to Balance I remembered this drawing. I swear I posted this years ago, but couldn’t find it! So I’ll just do it again lol. Which is a shame cause I wrote so much about symbolism and what not…

Tommy as Taako: it’s about change! Tommy’s hands always reaching out taking stuff, breaking and mending and transforming. Transmutation feels deeply tied into Tommy’s character to me. And Tommy and Tubbo can’t be anything other than the twins, joined at the hip, and the way Tommy is utterly a husk without his Tubbo. Also both Tommy and Taako getting framed for horrible events that they aren’t entirely culpable, always running from it. Plus turning the umbrastaff and wizard hat into discs was too good to pass up!

Tubbo as Lup: Instead of fire, it’s more along the lines of explosions. Tubbo doesn’t have any clothing that don’t have burn holes and scorch marks (which does mean Tommy doesn’t either!). He was clumsy in the early days too, ending up with facial scaring from it. Raw power dancing at his fingertips, Tubbo doubling down on it as the cycles go on, desperately trying to build up power until he cracks it and becomes the first wizard to figure out nuclear fission. It’s the power of nukes that Tubbo uses to fuel his ascent to Lichdom and, of course, the bonds with his friends.
