Bei diesen 15 Geschichten fällt es einem schwer, sich zu entscheiden, welche da wohl die Beste sein könnte. Aber sie sind auch jede für sich einzigartig und so muss man sich gar nicht entscheiden.

Wesen Moodboards
Gevatter Tod (German: Godfather Death)
The Gevatter Tod have a noteworthy and respected reputation in the Wesen community, but one that is also somber and solemn, as they are known as the "godfathers of death." Wesen who suffer from dementia sometimes experience more uncontrolled behavior, which includes uncontrolled woges. To protect the Wesen community, the Gevatter Tod are called by either a family member or a Wesen who cares for another Wesen suffering from dementia. Every Wesen apothecary has a contact number for a Gevatter Tod as well.
Once contacted, the Gevatter Tod will eventually arrive and inject the suffering Wesen with their saliva and allow them to pass away more peacefully than what otherwise might happen. This responsibility of the Gevatter Tod has helped keep Wesen hidden from the rest of humanity over time. They do not take this responsibility lightly either and, out of respect to the suffering Wesen, they open a nearby window or door to let the Wesen's soul leave. When contacted by a family member, they additionally will make sure they have the consent of said family member and that he or she is prepared for what they will do before they carry out their responsibilities.

The Godfather / Goodman / 'Gevatter' as Death personified is no surprise. There are several fairy tales in German calling the personification of death "Gevatter." Most famously the tale of Godfather Death.

Unsere neue Folge ist da!
Wir kämpfen gegen Orks. Standard Fantasy Rollenspielzeug, eigentlich. Aber einer hat einen Arm aus Drachenknochen. Und es gibt Reitschweine, Blitze-werfende Königinnen und eine Maus mit Sense. Ziemlich gut, insgesamt.

did a bigger project last semester based on the godfather death/gevatter tod folk tale :)
based death on ravens/owls and klausentreiben costumes. the physician is just an oddball bavarian lol. i think the way i stylized his silhouette ideas ended up being more interesting than his final design but maybe ill revisit it one day!!

oc asks: character design edition!
In her Jujutsu-Kaisen Verse Senritsu wears a ravenfeather instead of dandelions on her hatband, instead of a blouse she wears a Buscherump and the Tippelei-earring in her left ear that is usually just a golden earring that is traditionally used by journeymen to pay for their funreal in case they die before becoming a Master, is in that verse specifically the Miller-crafts-symbol: a small golden millwheel behind a sack of flour.
The raven feather: In the sorbian storis of the Sourcerer Krabat he and the other sourcerers were able to turn into ravens and would everynight, after they had worked at the Black Mill during the day, turn into ravens to be teached spells by the Millermaster. That of course does not make sense in the JJK-World, but its a nice marking for a organisation.
Miller-Tippelei-Earring: A Tippelei Earing is used as a way to carry money on the person and in the case of Journeymen it is "the amount of money one needs to pay a proper burial". As Journeymen are not allowed to earn / own money for as long as they are on the Great Wandering, the earring is a safety measure to pay for their funreal. In the Krabat myth, the millerboys were bound by the Millermaster to be prisoners and the Millermaster would very new-year-eve sacrefice one of the millerboys to Gevatter Tod to extrend his life for another year. In the case of the European JJK-Sourcerers the story is a great warning to not rely on one great sourcerer or one great leader since like in the story, there is a chance of them misusing their skills for their own gain. Krabats story is also in nowdays germany a story that is readin school as a preperation for history lessons to start the topic of the Nazi-time , so the avoidance to give all the power to just one person and avoiding another "millermaster", but also beein g part of a group of young people swayed into dangeoruse philosophy by the promsi of greatness turns into a even more intense warning.
Ottfried Preußler, who took the Krabat Mythos and turned it into the youth-neovella nowdays read in school was himself born 1923, so he wrote out of his own expierences in the HJ, him serving as a soldier in WW2, and his memories from beeing a warprisoner.
Buscherump: A Buscherump is a blue and white striped fisher-shirt that is usually worn by fishers in northgermany, holland, frisian and denmark. Its part of rough, pragamtic workwear. Due to its durability its also normal day-wear for hard work. After listening to the SOnata of Darkness Senritsu had been picked up by Sourcerers living by the Northsea-coast so she just wears the shirt out of habit since it does not easy rip.

For the art asks - 2 and 14?
hi anon !!
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
characters facing left for sure (I'm right handed). but because of this I think I do try a lot harder at right-facing faces, and most of the time those may end up looking nicer! haha
14. Any favorite motifs
I wish I drew more of my favourite visual motifs more, actually. so if you're surprised by the below I wouldn't blame you LOL because I feel like. I wish I drew from my heart more! I sometimes think my art is really boring if I can be brutally honest. gotta take more risks!
I like a lot of genres of media so understandably my art is all over. people have said this is a great quality, others have trouble pinpointing certain traits about my art, or my interests? and I wish that the things I love were more clear. honestly I feel more like the latter part of a "jack of all trades, master of none" but more like. a little court jester with my jingle hat. in 2023 I'd like to be happier with my art, and draw things that are more interesting/emotional/personal to me! 🏃♀️💨
- I love gothic/victorian motifs a lot! overly ornate frames (like haunted portraits), mirrors, flowers, complex drapery, and yes, we can't talk about gothic without the macabre stuff that was present in victorian culture too. sorry for being an edgy 2000s kid but I love skeletons in art... and characters sitting in coffins? chef kiss. Just like. the precarious balance of life and death in art is so genuinely interesting. I once saw in a Waldemar Januszczak art history doc that artists are so unapologetically obsessed with this dark stuff hahaha... 🤧👍 media that come to mind are Ib, Pandora Hearts, Black Butler. non anime media like Dracula, Portrait of Dorian Gray, Sherlock Holmes.
- Theatre/Shakespearean motifs as well. curtains, wooden props, stage sets. Opera, classical Greek theatre, ballet, pantomime, the circus. Shakespearean in the way that the characters are very passionate yet oh so tragic. Like. just in general playing on the idea that stories are plays, and the characters are mere puppets in someone's fabrication. thus things like puppets and clown-type characters in plays are fascinating too. things like, characters as the automatons in automaton clocks are so cool. I also LOVE the concept of dolls, however dolls are? quite frankly? terrifying irl. inspirations: Princess Tutu, lots of tragic stage play themes also present in Jun Mochizuki's work in Pandora Hearts and Vanitas no Carte, Rozen Maiden for the dolls thing.
- storybook themes. European fairy tale illustrations, anything whimsical and old fashioned. Witch Hat Atelier comes to mind, Princess Tutu again, also The Girl from the Other Side.
Dungeon Meshi by Ryoko Kui, Pandora Hearts by Jun Mochizuki
Pandora Hearts by Jun Mochizuki
Heinrich Lefler, Austrian artist. "Der Gevatter Tod", "Godfather Death"
A Russian version of the Swedish folk tale The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, if you know who the artist is please let me know! artist is found - Oleg Vassiliev!
