Comparative & Superlative Forms Of Adjectives In German
The comparative and superlative forms of adjectives are used to indicate a higher degree of their simple forms (positive and negative) with the superlative being the maximum degree. The comparative form is mostly used for dissimilar comparison between two nouns or pronouns i.e to show between two objects which one is of more value than the other while the superlative could become neuter

there was name talk last night? :3c
Flint is Silverstein's original name, now used as his first name, chosen/given like all other clay men still haven't decided my hc on that oops. Silverstein was chosen with not too much thought, picked from various names he heard around the docks in his first days in London. He goes by his surname because he is a Professional, Thank You, and mostly talks to people on business terms.
Theodore Pembroke is her full given name, with Cordelia being picked up later on. She probably could have changed her surname on account of mostly abandoning/disowning her parents, but she had been called Pem/Pembroke most of her life already, even more so when she was experimenting with gender and names; it's her name now, not her parents'. She goes by all her names interchangeably :D
Vincent Bell is a slight bastardisation of their name in order to avoid issues raised by the english having to contend with foreign words. Their full name is Vícenç Creuer LibÚl·lula, which loosely translates as Vincent Cross Dragonfly; double surnames from Spanish naming conventions. Their name is actually Catalan, not Spanish, as they (and their family) are from Barcelona and in the right company they will be Very proud about that fact. They only really go by Vincent and probably won't realise you're refering to them if you just use Bell.
(fun fact! spanish doesn't have ç or l·l and only has one direction of accent/tilde)

just remembered when I tried to translate the first chapter of the priory of the orange tree like a year and a half ago but gave up not even a quarter of the way through and tbh I get why it hasn’t been translated to dutch because even translating the title and making it sound Not Horrible is pretty much impossible

today in german we had adjective declensions 3: the thrilling conclusion to the trilogy: viz,. what to do when no article at all, definite or indefinite (generalities: “I like long walks,” adspeak: “lovely house for rent,” etc)
in the interests of fair balance, it is incumbent upon me to own up to the truth: when there are no articles in the immediate vicinity, German adjectives behave like sweet little lambs who have been particularly well brought up. it is all very straightforward
2 possibilities arise
1. the articles are evil and are corrupting influences. i don’t like this hypothesis, feels fash, next
2. some fell malevolent chemistry is at work whereby one and one suddenly synergistically makes eleven, like mixing klonopin and alcohol, thus catastrophe ensues. in this view, arguably, we could mitigate the whole craziness with a wee regulatory tweak establishing a contraindication and forbidding them to associate. like i’m sorry my dudes maybe you all just need to step up and muster the civic virtue to say “the jacket that is red” instead of “the red jacket,” what part of lives are at stake don’t you understand

Declension Of Adjectives In German
The most interesting thing about German Adjectives isn’t just that they are voluminous but that they may also be declined which in turn makes them complex irrespective of their forms i.e whether they are basic, comparative and superlative Adjectives or those that are derived from either Partizip I or Partizip II. This declension of German Adjectives usually follows a definite pattern which has

The movie tangled has a made up word in the german title. Because in german it's "Rapunzel: neu verföhnt" and verföhnt is not a real word.
"ver-" is a real prefix, meaning the subject moves towards something, "föhnen" is a real verb, for blow drying hair (or other things) but combining that would mean her hair moves towards getting blow dried or her hair will end up in the state of being blow dried. (I feel like it's a reference to something, I just don't know what)
They probably chose not to go for "verheddert", a direct translation of tangled because who would want to watch that?

Also really like the music of. Blue waterfall area
And Toriel’s theme!
