the fact of the matter is, soshiro hoshina had you MONITORED ever since he realized he had romantic feelings for you. with the excuse of receiving daily reports from platoon leaders about their officers, he only paid any mind to any reports about you.

and he was so obvious about it, that some platoon leaders caught on to what he was doing. nakanoshima genuinely enjoyed it, as seeing the vice-captain with wide eyes trying to conceal any emotion when you're mentioned was a one-of-a-kind experience.

"oh, by the way! officer l/n got hit on by one of my men yesterday."

nakanoshima tried her best to hold in her laughter while hoshina choked on his food in the middle of the cafeteria. she could see how his face contorted with disgust, as he anxiously began to play with his food.

"and what does that have to do with the reports?" he sneered. she gave him a knowing look, to which he sighed. he was utterly hopeless, wasn't he? a complete idiot in love. so much of an idiot, that even his subordinates caught wind of what was happening.

"…so, what'd they do about it?"

"they turned him down" she shrugged, "well, at least that's what i saw. if you want the whole thing, you'd probably have to ask okonogi. she was there way longer than me."

hoshina's next stop was the operations room.

"okonogi, dear, do you happen to have any camera footage of the hallway leading to the cafeteria from yesterday at about 5pm—"

the salute that followed sent a shiver down his spine, as he turned to his side to see you, comfortably sitting in okonogi's seat.

"vice-captain hoshina? sir, miss okonogi is currently on break, and she left me here to help her run through some reports" you smiled sheepishly, "if this is about yesterday, sir, just know that nothing happened with the officer that approached me. i completely apologize."

when you bowed in apology, hoshina simply grinned as he raised his hand to pat your head. "ya know i care about my officers, sweetheart, so i jus' wanted to make sure ya weren't being harassed."

"did—did you just call me sweetheart, sir?"

"that's 30 pushups for ya, l/n."

GEN NARUMI

being in the first division was already hard enough with all of the highly skilled officers around you, but having captain gen narumi follow you around like a lost puppy? yeah, you unlocked a new level of hell.

the fact that you had a higher-up on your trail didn't bother you, it was the fact that narumi himself was insufferable, and if the rumors that other officers came to spill to you were true…

gen narumi was head over heels for you, and he took every opportunity he had to show off in front of you.

as much as you hated to admit it, narumi truly was something else. his ability to slay kaiju was unlike any you had ever seen before, and it was nothing short of admirable. off the field, though, narumi was like some annoying influencer trying to sell you their latest product from some pyramid scheme.

his product? himself.

whenever he wasn't boasting about himself or trying to show you his social media fame, he was constantly in your messages trying to strike up a conversation. today was no different, as he slid into your messages asking if you knew about his latest video game records.

in your phone was a picture of gen narumi, holding his phone like a facebook parent, duck lips and all, winking.

you didn't hold it in, laughing hysterically at your screen. tears were forming from how hard you were laughing, and the messages you received made you drop to your knees.

YOICHI ISAGI

when isagi accidentally revealed to kurona and hiori about his growing crush on you, he settled on keeping your name hidden in public conversations. a part of him thought that, yes, it might be childish, but code names could save his ass from the prying eyes of blue lock tv and the press.

he knew you were watching at home, as he constantly texted you about what you saw on your television throughout the week. he’s grateful that there are no cameras in the stratum’s bedrooms, as he mostly spends his time kicking his feet like a schoolgirl whenever he’s chatting with you.

while having lunch with his teammates, the topic of relationships had surged, as there were some which wondered if their teammates had someone waiting for them back home.

“so, isagi, did you confess to y/n already?”

“confess! confess!”

“huh.”

isagi’s eye twitched as his teammates slowly stood up from their seats. they looked at each other nervously, and in response, isagi sighed.

"the code name was apple" he sneered, "if this ends up on blue lock tv, you're fucking dead."

hiori and kurona were grateful that social media did not rave about isagi's love life, thus thinking they were safe from any tormenting. isagi was relieved that his teammates' slip up was kept under wraps, as he wasn't ready to express his feelings just yet.

luckily for him, blue lock TV released a special episode filled with drama and gossip from all teams, and much to his dismay, "APPLE" started trending on twitter, along with his name, and the phrase "WHO IS Y/N".

REO MIKAGE

reo mikage knew that your job as bastard munchen's social media manager meant that he wouldn't see you as much, with him seeing you on award shows, events, or football matches that you both attended as guests.

every day, he would text you a new reason for you to switch teams and join manshine city instead. he offered to fly you out, help you with paperworks and your cv—mikage had everything covered.

except for your approval.

it was hard to leave a team you grew to be fond of, after almost two years of working there, you learned to love everyone as you would with your own family. after hearing mikage's pleas day after day, you finally gave him the go ahead to submit your job application.

which just so happened to fall on the day in which manshine played against bastard.

it was a complex match, with your team winning 3-2 against mikage's. after celebrating with some nice dinner on a rooftop, isagi had invited you to go around manchester for some shopping, as he wanted to buy a present for his mother.

reo mikage's phone had blown up in a way he had never witnessed before. from his friends, social media, hell—even nagi was spamming him with messages, sending him a link to an article.

"yoichi isagi spotted with mystery person in cartier for a shopping day! what we know about them so far…"

reo mikage had to be forcibly removed from his phone and social media, with his teammates having to hold him back from causing a scene.

because why on god's beautiful earth were you shopping with isagi instead of him?

when he received his phone back, he saw a text from you, explaining how isagi asked for your help to buy jewelry for his mother's upcoming birthday. he felt himself melt at the thought of your kindness, as according to him, you were doing charity work. nothing against isagi's mother, though.

he smiled as he exited your chat and typed out a name, starting a new conversation.

"annnnd then he had my socials on his phone, and he read the notifications that i received. he got mad because a friend told me they loved me."

the joy of having yamato endo listening to your horrible experiences with your ex was that, at face value, endo was agreeing with everything you said. internally, though, he thought different.

the more he heard, the more intrigued he was about your ex. because endo yamato found himself relating to him, and was on the verge of asking you for his number.

"damn, he was oversteppin' boundaries" he sighed. snooping every once in a while ain't bad, though, is what he thought. 'cause what if they're cheating or something, or covering for someone?

he shook his head as he discarded the thought, as neither of those situations could ever apply to you. you went on and on, describing the various ways in which your ex had either pissed you off or straight up did you dirty.

at the end of your rant, endo slyly pulled out his phone and opened the search tab of his social media.

"damn y/n that's crazy! anyway, what was his name again?"

HAJIME UMEMIYA

you knew hajime umemiya was too trusting and naive, but you let it slide. when you and him were cuddling on your couch, mindlessly scrolling through his social media, something was off.

his page was filled with instagram models.

and sure, you wouldn't have any trouble with it, but the fact that there were half naked people clogging your boyfriend's feed, you felt a bit iffy. when asking him about it, he simply laughed.

The game was intense, the ball switching sides between the two teams at an impressive speed. Your team was holding up, but it seemed to feel the pressure of the match. You were on the field, with your usual calm expression, absorbing every move.

Then, at some point, you were knocked down hard by one of your opponents. It wasn’t something too serious, but you, usually so calm, got up with a different expression, clearly angry at this dirty move.

The anger in your eyes was something new, something no one would want to face. The opponents were tense, trying to organize their defense as you regained the ball, but the speed at which you advanced was unimaginable.

Finally, with a strong and accurate shot, you sent the ball straight into the goal, beating the entire defense and stopping only in the net.

You simply looked at the field, the anger still pulsing in your chest, but with a smile subtly appearing. When you let go, there were no limits to what could happen. And this time, it was for the victory.

Bastard München

Noa was observing the pace of your run with a serious expression. "This is what we need." - He thought, clearly satisfied with the burst of energy you brought to the team after your goal.

Isagi's eyes widened; the last thing he would have considered in his plan was you getting angry. But soon, a sense of satisfaction took over his face, along with a touch of curiosity. He approached and said, - "You never told me you had that kind of strength in you, I'm impressed!"

Yukimiya quickly joined you and let out a soft laugh, placing a hand on Isagi's shoulder. "He's good even when he's angry. Now, let's see how far this rage can take him."

"Yeah, I really liked the way you acted, it was a great goal" - Hiori commented, showing no surprise, but with a slight admiration.

The rest of the players were also slightly surprised, especially Ness and Kurona. They had never seen you lose your temper like that. They knew you were a composed player, but that fierce anger was something they never imagined seeing.

At last, Kaiser and Kunigami remained silent, but Kaiser looked at the scene with a smirk. "Now, that's what I call attitude" - He thought, enjoying the aggression radiating from you.

FC Barcha

The whole team cheers as they watch your goal! Both Bachira and Lavinho break into wide smiles when they see you in action. Bachira runs to you after the goal and grabs you, celebrating. - "Yippie! I didn't know you could get that angry! That was amazing!"

Meanwhile, Otoya, noticing your aggressive movement, runs along the sideline to keep up with your play. He also celebrated when he saw you score, and soon after ran over to congratulate you.

"Caralho [fuck]! That's ma boy!" - Lavinho shouted, he was really surprised, after all, he didn’t expect this from you, always so calm and composed. It was a great surprise! The whole FC Barcha team would be very warm in celebrating your goal.

Paris X Gen

The team wasn't too surprised, except for Shidou and Charles, who were extremely excited by your sudden burst of anger! - "Wow! So that idiot can have explosions! I like that~" - Shidou exclaimed.

Karasu immediately flashed a sly grin and repositioned himself to get involved in your play, while trying to figure out what you were thinking. Loki also smiled, but this time it was more of an "I knew it" kind of smile.

Charles and Shidou were the ones who celebrated your goal the most, lifting you up and shouting nonsense like two idiots. - "Yippie! Do that again, ya?" - Charles shouted.

Manshine City

Chris was the first to comment: "That was awesome! You really got those legs working, huh? Everyone, take notes!" - examining which muscles were used and, of course, turned to the cameras of BLTV, the rest of the team was stunned.

Chigiri had tried to follow up on your attack, in vain. - "Good boy! But I'm still faster than you" - He could only congratulate your attention to the field, which didn't let your speed back down while crossing through the flock of enemy players. He was amazed.

But even more were Reo and Nagi. They chit-chatted away from you, but their wide eyes didn't hide a thing: the shock was a lot. Reo studied your movements to later repeat such beautiful agression, and Nagi thought how - or even if - he could take a pass from you.

Ubers

Your sudden disattachment to the "teamwork" ideals made Snuffy initially worried, but that wasn't all that he payed attention to. Your anger was evident. He came to you, put a hand on your shoulder and asked: - "Are you alright, kiddo?" - and then, you nodded. He seemed to get the mensage, and was happy to see your potential in action.

"Tsch...Not bad." - Barou said, with a grin. He seemed a bit jealous of such a violent goal, but also satisfied. Lorenzo, on the other hand, didn't say anything, but was clearly paying attention to the entire play. Maybe, he found an even stronger spark of strenght in you.

Aiku cheered for you, messing you hair a bit. He was surprised, as was everyone else. In a rare momento, you could see Niko's expression behind the hair. A mixture of shock, fear and excitement. If you were on the enemy team, you would have been a huge problem. But here, you could be one of the Ubers' secret surprises.

FROM THE PROLOGUE:

“Congratulations L/N Y/N! Based on your results, you've earned your place in Blue Lock as the manager of player number…

…1, Itoshi Rin.”

'Player number one, Itoshi Rin. Player number one, number one…number…'-the words rang in your head like a mantra as you tried to process the information over and over again.

“PLAYER NUMBER ONE?!”-you exclaimed once realisation hit you in the face. Perhaps, a little too loudly, earning yourself quite a few envious looks and surprised glances. Standing in the room for a few seconds, you didn’t move due to the shock of what just happened. You might have stayed like that forever, if one of the girls who were still waiting for their turn, hadn’t shouted at you.

“Yeah, we heard that the first time!”

Rude. You thought, before snapping back to reality and heading towards the door that had the ‘MANAGER’ label on in bold, black letters. Stepping into the room, to your surprise, was Anri waiting there, sitting at a desk with neatly arranged papers, folders, and all kinds of pens on it. Sensing your presence, she stood up, and when you got there, she extended her hand, saying “Congratulations” with a bright smile. You thanked her before she turned around, searching through a pile of booklets before stopping her finger on the one with your name written on the cover.

“Here. It’s kind of like a little guide, it will be very helpful for adjusting to your player. This thing contains your new routine and some useful information as well.”-she said, handing it to you.-“Good luck and welcome to Blue Lock!”

She then directed you to Team A’s soccer field, where the boys were currently training. Walking your way there, you felt your hands slowly starting to sweat, heart beating a little faster than normal, and the feeling of excitement from earlier coming back. After all…

Imagine being THE Itoshi Rin’s manager, who’s the best in Blue Lock with his jersey number confirming his position.

Itoshi Rin, with whom your first meeting couldn’t have gone worse. Who, after only 5 minutes, tells you with a straight face that:

“I don’t need a manager.”

Leaving you stunned at his plain attitude and bluntness. Seeing as you stare at him, without another word, he turns around and starts to walk away, which causes you to panic. Not knowing what to do in this case, you call out his name multiple times, hoping he stops. That doesn’t seem to work, so you decide to shout at him the first thing that comes to your mind.

“ARE YOU ITOSHI SAE’S BROTHER?”

The moment those words slipped out of your mouth an incredibly awkward silence fell over the room. Oh. My. God. This was probably the dumbest thing you could have said, but in your defense, it did make the boy stop in his tracks.

Catching up to him, you apologized, saying this was just a slip of the tongue. Rin looked unfazed, but the way his body tensed up told you that you probably touched a sensitive topic there. Before you could say anything again, he sighed and gave you a nasty stare, walking past your figure without sparing a second glance.

Great first impression.

•Rin, who after that incident starts ignoring your presence. Whenever you hand him a water bottle or try to strike up a conversation, the only thing you get back is an uninterested look. Your apology the day before was also left on heard.

•Learning it through the hard way, but working with him meant keeping his brother’s business or any news or posts related to him out of your mouth. Even mentioning the famous soccer player’s name was forbidden territory, and although you never questioned his strange behaviour towards the older one, you do wonder what happened between them.

•Rin, who has a particularly strict routine that he follows without a break, doesn't expect you to be near him, but when the opposite happens with you sticking around, like an annoying fly 24/7, he wishes to find a way to somehow get rid of you.

•He doesn't know that you work your butt off though, spending your free time watching every single match he has previously played in as well as analysing and taking notes of his every move. From waking up earlier than the player himself to prepare his yoga mattress and drinks for the morning to staying up until midnight to help him collect the balls he shoots for late-night practices and cleaning up as soon as he finishes.

•However, it takes weeks until he finally talks to you, his first words being "Move over!" because you were standing in front of the weights he was gonna use. Over time though, even if it's just a short yes or no, a huff or an ugly look, but he starts to answer the many questions you ask every day out of concern or curiosity.

•Rin, who’s stoic and not a man of many words, silently starts to appreciate the way you have his daily routine and training engraved in your mind. You, who's always within arm’s length making sure he doesn’t overwork himself to death or forget his meals.

•You, who never knows when to shut up, sticking to his ass all day to confirm he’s alive and well, complaining or scolding him for being rude and unfriendly to his teammates, and showering him in compliments from time to time like:

•“You were amazing on the field earlier!” or “I’m jealous of your eyelashes!” and then there’s his favorite line that goes -“Isagi looked soooo shocked at your goal!” (it’s not a compliment, he thinks it is)

•After weeks of working together, you’ve mastered the art of reading his microscopic facial expressions to know what he wants or thinks without him having to tell you directly. You’re busy, work schedule being fully packed, but still making time to accompany him in the evenings to rewatch and analyse his games before bed.

•However, sometimes too tired to stare at the screen, you end up falling asleep on his shoulder, making him complain to you the next day to quit drooling on his uniform and get a grip. He doesn’t want you to 'slack off' he says, but ultimately the underlying message is to take care of yourself.

•Rin, who works ten times harder during the preparation for the U20 match, training to face his brother on the field and making you constantly remind him to: “Get some rest” or “Relax, otherwise you will get injured before the real match!”-your words being ignored as usual.

AFTER THE U20 MATCH…

•Rin’s popularity skyrockets following the victory of Blue Lock, yet he always manages to respond in a raw, unfiltered way at press conferences and interviews, that leave many reporters and paparazzi speechless.

•His newfound fans, on the other hand, adore his cold demeanor, and the comment sections are each time filled with either compliments about his plays or looks and never the ridiculously simple answers he gives to the media.

•Joining the team of PXG also makes the teal-eyed boy change in many ways, but surprisingly his attitude towards you somehow remains the same.

•Rin got 'new' teammates, a new coach/mentor, and new training routines. Everything is new. Better. Yet, he’s somewhat relieved that you're still his manager. The one who’s not afraid to call him out or nag at him. Knowing when to leave him alone at times. Letting him focus on his goals without getting in his way. Keeping him away from Shidou Ryusei outside the field as much as possible. Shoving down his throat the meals made according to his diet and making sure he sleeps exactly 7.5 hours.

•He hates to admit it, but you’re perfect…for being his manager of course. The only problem he finds is the way you make his heart move a little when you come to his games, supporting him with his jersey on, proudly wearing the name Itoshi Rin and number 10 across your back.

•Heck, these days he also can’t seem to ignore the way you stare at him for an unnecessary amount of time during his warm ups and stretches, the slight shade of pink covering your cheeks every time he runs to you after a match, covered in sweat asking for some water and his towel.

•He notices your flustered state when he bends down a little to hear you better, or the way he sits just a tad bit closer to you during your French tutoring. It’s distracting. Not only to you, but to him as well. Yet, he doesn’t mind nor does he do anything about it.

•Maybe in a few years, he thinks, if you'll still have some affection left for him, he could allow something other than just a strict, professional relationship between the two of you.

•However, currently, there’s no place on his priority list for you since soccer is his number one goal after all. He knows you understand that, that’s what he loves about you. Besides, you’re going to stay by his side for a long time, so what’s there to rush?

As someone who grew up on Rooster Teeth, who consumed so much of their content during my formative years, today's news hits a little harder. I'm so upset for the people who lost their jobs and livelihoods due to this huge downsizing on WB part (not to mention the fact most of them found out through a twitter post!) - it pains me to hear that some of their projects will never get a real conclusion or that the hard work they have been putting in for years might be forgotten.

I'm holding out hope that there will be some sort of archival process or maybe the RT website will remain live so that people can watch what is there (maybe no longer behind a paywall?).

That being said, RT was never a perfect company and to pretend that it was is doing a disservice to everyone who has been hurt by the decisions of their coworkers, the treatment of BIPOC by the audience, and toxic work environment that surrounded their productions. We should not use this time to discredit those experiences, but remain aware that these situations can coexist simultaneously.

For the cast/crew/production teams that have led these projects, I am hopeful that this will not be the last time we see them apart of content. I know most people are concerned about the state of RWBY, RVB, Gen: Lock, etc, and I do think these IP's will be picked up. If we're lucky, they will be along with the teams responsible for them in the first place. But I urge you to not use this time to talk about these shows, but instead send some comfort to those who are now out of a job.

Also think about Michael Kaiser 15 in jail he just attacked his dad and the cops. He's never been to school. And suddenly he's signing a contract where his life is committed to the sport surrounded by people he doesn't have a far cry in hell of being able to communicate with right. How could he like football? Same with Sae 13 in another country no idea what he's doing except that he can't turn back now. The sunk cost fallacy here is absurdly high for Gen XI

While we still don’t know what age Lorenzo was found , for the sake of this post let’s assume he was either 15 turning 16 or 16 turning 17

Imagine being in your early to mid teens , the most socially awkward times in your life , and you get thrown into a environment that you aren’t similar with, with almost nobody you know being there ( except the person you brought you there in the first place) that’s so overwhelming for someone like Sae to go through, and imagine that pain being increased for Kaiser/ Lorenzo because of how god AWFUL their childhood was . Football really is a survival for them , Sae has nothing going for himself except for this god forsaken sport and it’s worse for Lorenzo and Kaiser 

Sae saying he would’ve had a normal life , a better personality, if he didn’t play football hits HARD. Saying his major flaw is the fact he knows nothing but football and saying you shouldn’t live like this hits HARD

Both Kaiser and Lorenzo saying they would’ve DIED probably before the age of 18 if they didn’t play football is so gut wrenching

These poor traumatized kids have to keep on performing so all the higher ups in the football industry have money in their pockets
