Green Chicken and Dumplings
Tumblr media
Heart-warming and flavourful, these lemon-y Green Chicken and Dumplings make good use of chicken carcasses and a comforting dinner on a cold Autumn night!
Ingredients (serves 3):
2 raw (preferably free-range) chicken carcasses, with meat on the bones
2 fluffys sprigs Garden Rosemary
2 sprigs fresh thyme
2 bay leaves
1/2 tablespoon coarse sea salt
1/2 tablespoons whole black peppercorns
2 1/2 litres/10 cups water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion
1 large lemon
9 beautiful Garden Green Beans (I have grown more fat deep purple Blauhilde beans this year, which turn green once cooked!)
3 "cubes" frozen spinach
1 1/2 cup plain flour
1 heaped teaspoon baking powder
1 heaped teaspoon dried oregano
a pinch of salt
about 3/4 cup water
Place chicken carcasses in a large pot with Rosemary and thyme sprigs, bay leaves, coarse sea salt and black pepper. Cover with the water, and bring to the boil over a high flame.
Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low, cover with a lid, and simmer, one hour and a half, until you have a beautifully fragrant broth.
Lift carcasses from the pot, onto a cutting board and allow them to cool completely. Filter chicken broth through a fine mesh sieve; set aside.
Rinse and dry pot.
Heat olive oil in the pot, over medium-high heat.
Peel and finely chop onion. Add to the pot, and fry, about 3 minutes, until softened, stirring often.
Remove the meat from the cooled chicken carcasses, chop roughly, and stir into the pot. Cook, a couple of minutes.
Thoroughly squeeze in the juice of the whole lemon, to deglaze, and add the emptied lemon halves to the pot.
Stir in reserved chicken broth, and brig to the boil.
Rinse, top and tail Garden Green Beans, and stir them into the pot. Cook, 5 minutes. Add frozen spinach "cubes", and cook, 5 minutes more.
Meanwhille, prepare dumplings. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, dried oregano and salt. Then, gradually stir in water (you may not need all of it) until you have a smooth batter.
Spoon heaped tablespoons of the dumpling mixture into the pot. You should have about 9. Cover with the lid, and cook, a further 5 minutes, flipping dumplings half-way through.
Serve Green Chicken and Dumplings wery hot!

I find it strange how you'd like to get so fat that you depend on someone but at the same time you're saying that you wanna do gardening. It's like there is a confrontation between your kink and your regular life...
in fantasy (or with a lot of consideration between me and my feeder) i’d become dependent. realistically, i’ve always dreamt of having my own garden and i think i could keep up with it at over 350lbs tbh
why can’t i have both…… scooter accessible garden pls. with raised beds i won’t have to bend over too much 🥺
bonus. bacon and tomato sandwich w home grown red snapper variety tomatoes, one of the only beefsteak-like varieties that grow in TX 🥳 DELICIOUS w mayo and some black pepper.

My harvest ! I'm really pleased with this !!
also while i was in the garden mulching the tomato plot i look up to check how the pumpking was doing and there were TWO pumpkins.
Real world duplication glitch. nature truly is beautiful.
The second pumpkin needs to ripen a bit but this one is just fine. Bit cracked from the drought / big rains tho but i love it anyway. Yipee !!
included the dandelion 'cause its edible and reminded me of @official-dandelion-posts whose posts i look forward to so consider this a tribute

Halloumi Green Bean, Cucumber and Tomato Salad (Vegetarian)
Tumblr media
This colourful Halloumi Green Bean, Cucumber and Tomato Salad, fragrant with fresh herbs, and topped with warm, crispy cheese is a delicious lunch to enjoy in the garden, whence some of its ingredients come from!
Ingredients (serves 1):
a small bunch Garden Chives
a couple of sprigs Garden Dill
1 fluffy sprig Garden Parsley
1 fluffy sprigs Garden Chervil
half a dozen leaves garden mint
½ lemon
1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup Garden Green Beans, boiled and cooled
1 just ripe tomato, rinsed
1/4 cucumber, rinsed
1/4 teaspoon fleur de sel or sea salt flakes
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
50 grams/1.25 ounce Halloumi Cheese
Finely chop Garden Chives, Dill, Parsley, Chervil and mint, and spoon into serving plate. Thoroughly grate in about a teaspoonful of the lemon zest.
Season with black pepper.
Drizzle with olive oil, squeeze in the juice of the lemon halve, and give a good stir to combine well.
Cut Green Beans into chunks, dice tomato and slice cucumber.
Add Green Bean chunks, tomato dices and cucumber slices to the plate. Sprinkle with fleur de sel, and toss well to coat in dressing.
Chill in the refrigerator, at least an hour.
Just before serving, heat olive oil in a small frying pan over a high flame.
Cut Halloumi cheese into slices.
Once the oil is hot, add Halloumi slices, and fry, a couple of minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Top salad with hot Halloumi slices. Grate a little lemon zest on top.
Enjoy Halloumi Green Bean, Cucumber and Tomato Salad immediately, with a glass of chilled dry white wine like a Chablis or Chardonnay.

Harvested this earlier today
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a pole bean called the yard long bean because the bean grows up to about 3ft long. The first of many to come.
I know this isn’t exactly a ‘harvest’ but I picked it and I’ve never grown this before and was so excited to try it. Tastes just like a regular green bean!
