#Gaia Bat Sonic AU

In regards to my newest AU of which I have dubbed Gaia Bat Sonic AU, here's a list of pros, cons, a mix of both, and attacks he has in the form:

Pros: Flight, night vision, echolocation, limited electrokinesis, slight super strength, and can sense other Dark Gaia minions within a certain range.

Cons: Sunlight burns him, too much light hurts his eyes, negative feelings amplified a lot, Dark Gaia energy flowing out a portion of his body that can enhance negative emotions of those who inhale it, and he has a tendency to screech like a bat when talking. He's also super embarrassed by that last one.

Both: Smaller, sensitive hearing, and a constant electric aura that he can turn into an attack.

New Attacks: Supersonic Screech, Shockwave, Electric Bite, and a Lightning Ball Shot from his tail.

Will update the list if I think of anything new!

Was kinda gatekeeping these sketchbook pages but I was also hesitant to post them cuz of how I felt about how some of these drawings turned out but I should just face the fact that I am quite, no, wildly inconsistent when it comes to how I draw in general so there’s that. But yeah, a sketchbook spread that was supposed to be dedicated to Mighty (and Ray) and got taken over by ideas of how to implement them in my au. Also, my headcanon is that Mighty is Mexican so don’t mind me sprinkling that into how I depict him

i had a thought and i don't know where the fuck it came from, but it's that sonic adventure 2 happening at the same time as unleashed would be INSANE

dark gaia wakes up and the force of the planet splitting apart wakes shadow. rouge being a GUN agent has to go on multiple missions, including find out what the fuck happened to the planet, and what eggman is planning. she and shadow team up as usual but now trying to help fix the planet- rouge doing it because GUN is gonna pay her, and shadow doing it because maybe along the way, like chip, he'll find out what went down in the gaps of his memory.

sonic is still the werehog, and because he's without sunlight in space, the whole time he's in space, he is transformed for all of his time on the ark. when eggman blows up the moon he like winces in pain a little bit like he's about to transform back to normal but obviously he can't do that because there's no sun. so there's like dark gaia energy leaking everywhere and hes trying not to fucking die

eggman woke up dark gaia and blew up the moon so the world is distracted while he builds eggmanland, but he discovers some government secrets about his grandfather and his cousin maria ooooooooo.

tails has the same role from both games- make gadgets to stop eggman, try not to get attacked by any of the creatures, yk. nothing has really changed. they can't restore the planet fully because of the last chaos emerald but eggman is booking it to space already so tails makes the fake emerald to stop him and then they can restore the emerald when they get back.

same thing with knuckles- he teams up with tails and sonic, has some run ins with rouge, argues with her over the master emerald. the only thing is that now rouge wants the emerald not for her own selfish desire (okay maybe a little for her own selfish desire), but because maybe it can help restore the planet. very minor change here but still important!

chip is trying to patch his memory just like shadow, and to restore the emeralds with sonic. however this is a cool parallel because shadows only trying to remember one thing- maria's promise- and chip is trying to remember his whole life.

and this whole time amy has no idea who sonic even is, until she has to be explicitly told "the other 3 foot tall hedgehog isn't sonic, but the massive in comparison 4'1" dog is"

gameplay is pretty much the same as unleashed with some adventure 2 elements. run around, collect shit, fight the creatures. the worldbuilding just includes adventure 2 maps now too. and instead of fighting the biolizard, shadow and sonic fight dark gaia. shadow falls to earth, and chip saves sonic because shadows immortal he's fiiiiiiine this won't lead to any poorly received 2005 games at all. sonic wakes up and is like "what the fuck where's shadow" chip goes "lmao he's dead but not really"

Some of the people close to Sonic are close to them in canon, but there are also a number of additional relationships.

Canon Characters~

Tails:

Tails is the first canon character to become close to Sonic. 

Tails admires Sonic a lot which they appreciate. Sonic freed them from the more severe abuse of their birth family and though Sonic couldn't prevent their adoptive parents from harming either of them Sonic still did their best to protect them when they could and Tails will always be grateful for that though this causes them guilt too.

Sonic also thinks highly of Tails due to their intelligence and uniqueness. They also find Tails' skill set to be quite handy like when they were homeless Tails figured out the benches with extra arm rest design to prevent homeless people from sleeping on them could actually be removed and obtained a wrench to do so so they can sleep somewhere.

The two also feel relatively safe around each other and that ease allows them to bond and enjoy each other's company. They also share an interest in planes and Sonic always lets Tails use their plane, the Sonic Tornado, and Tails performs maintenance on it and has even upgraded it. 

Additionally during the worst time in Sonic's life, an event that is up there as one of Tails' worst life experiences as well, the siblings comforted each other reminding that what is happening to them isn't the other's fault and giving each other space to vent their experiences which Sonic is incredibly grateful for. 

Amy:

Amy has always loved Sonic though they didn't really like her at first because she kept hugging them and more often than not Sonic doesn't like to be touched so they leave her without much fanfare. 

After meeting again, Sonic liked her more the second time and they became each other's Favorite People. They always had to be around each other but Amy realized that the way they were going about the relationship was unhealthy and broke it off for both their sakes. Sonic was livid about this but calmed down eventually and they distanced themselves from one another. 

Down the line they reunited once more and they rekindled their relationship and they continued to spend time together even when Amy learned that Sonic didn't reciprocate her romantic feelings like they initially thought they did. 

Also during the worst time of Sonic's life Amy every week for a few weeks Amy would bring Sonic food she prepared herself from homemade Chili Dogs to Strawberry Shortcake. Though she had to learn the hard way about Sonic's distaste for the latter Sonic continues to hold the gesture in high regard. 

Amy enjoys how silly and sweet Sonic can be and finds them to be genuinely cool too. Sonic likes being silly with Amy, sparring with her on occasion, cooking and baking alongside her, and seeing her art. 

Shadow:

Shadow initially viewed Sonic as an inferior nuisance but once Sonic supported them at a critical moment in their life Shadow grew some degree of an attachment to Sonic, a rarity for them. 

After Shadow gets wrongfully put in stasis by G.U.N. Sonic aids Rouge and Omega in freeing them which moves Shadow to tears, another uncommon event for them. 

Shadow soon returns the favor by "distracting" Sonic's abusive parents during the worst point in their life and lingering around Sonic to make sure they are safe. In the end Shadow wound up being around Sonic the most out of any of their friends meaning they held one of the most crucial parts in keeping Sonic stable at that time which Sonic will always cherish it for especially when they meet another Sonic that didn't have that luxury. 

At a different point, something will drive Sonic to run off with the Phantom Ruby they've had for a while, collect the Chaos Emeralds, and abandon their dimension for Blaze's dimension where they end up wandering around with no memory until Silver and Blaze find them and restore their memories. Once Sonic returns they and Shadow tenderly reunite and are quietly happy to see each other again, only to have a race and a battle to make sure the other hasn't gone soft. 

Rouge:

Rouge didn't really think anything of Sonic in the beginning. Just another person to see if she can get what she wants from them. 

During the worst time in Sonic's life Shadow tried persuade Rouge to help them support Sonic, normally she wouldn't be interested in something like this but with Shadow's "persuasion" and considering that Sonic just helped her and Omega get Shadow back she relents and she and Shadow provide aid to Sonic, Rouge specifically leaks information regarding the hidden abuse Sonic's parents have been putting them and Tails through as well as other questionable behaviors. Though the media still ultimately took the abuser's side, Sonic was thankful to have someone unveil what truly happened to them and their brother. 

Additionally, Rouge ended up chatting with Sonic and inadvertently supporting them by taking their mind off the situation as a whole. Rouge enjoys being the center of attention and controlling the conversation and gets frustrated and uncomfortable when that's not the case but when Sonic brings up Persona 5 she actually manages to get invested in someone else's interest. At a base level Sonic will like anyone more if they let them infodump but with the addition of the severe stress and, with a handful of exceptions, near complete isolation having regular Interaction with Rouge was vital in maintaining the remainants of Sonic's metal health which Sonic loved her for, so much so Rouge became Sonic's Favorite Person. 

A bit later in their relationship, Sonic would make dance routines and write poems for Rouge which made her feel genuinely not artificially valued. Sonic was happy to have someone that was unfazed by being used as a source of attention and validation as they did the same and they were pleased to have another sparring partner and one they could train to a degree. 

Another aspect of Rouge they value is that she outwardly seemed to take their splits less personally than most even when they would lash out because of them, they found it nice and felt a bit less like a ticking time bomb. 

Chip:

Chip took a shine to Sonic right upon meeting, before their speech was even restored and Sonic didn't mind having this strange little creature around, especially since when they would lay on Sonic's head it would help alleviate the migraines as well as the aches and pain induced by Dark Gaia's power. 

Chip enjoys seeing the world and cultures they have had limited experience with alongside Sonic and appreciates their assistance in restoring them to their Perfect Form. Chip's innate power acts as a painkiller and elevates mood and the bracelet they crafted from their own Chaos Energy and gifted to Sonic retains the painkiller aspect and having the migraines that they would naturally get which would range from hindering to debilitating be alleviated altogether was a great boon for Sonic. 

Sonic also appreciates Light Gaia's chipper attitude and Light Gaia values the knowledge of the life and cultures that emerged on its true body, that being the planet itself. 

Chip is also unbothered by Sonic's more strange behaviors which is quite comforting to Sonic and Chip is just thankful to have someone to spend time and share things with as they spent a lot of their existence alone in their dreams. 

Shahra:

Shahra clung to Sonic from the moment she met them as she had just been left on her own by Erazor Djinn and she has no faith in her own abilities or competence. Sonic was unperturbed by this as a lot of people depend on them for something or other and they believe their value comes from helping and/or saving people plus Shahra's tendency to adulate those she depends on is quite beneficial for Sonic. 

After defeating Erazor Djinn and leaving Shahra without her primary dependent Shahra admits that she has no idea how to live on her own and Sonic decides to take it upon themself to sneak Shahra into their home behind their parents back and let her live with them as they try and teach her to be more independent. Shahra holds strong gratitude towards Sonic for their support and kindness and Sonic reciprocates for her her own kindness and her tolerance of how they are. 

Non Canon Characters~ 

Tantamount:

Tails is the first canon character that Sonic was close to but before that it was Tantamount the Monkey. They were one of the few kids that didn't bully or exclude Sonic and the only one to actually take interest in them and not just tolerate them at the best of times in one of the orphanages Sonic stayed at. 

Tantamount introduced Sonic to a bunch music and even to two of their favorite music artists as well as poetry as a whole and Sonic supported Tantamount when they voiced concerns about the issues their mother was having that lead to them getting placed in the foster system and started showing Tantamount poems they began writing even made a few for them specifically. 

Tantamount would also shield Sonic from their other "friends" when they would bully Sonic and would assure them the other kids only attacked them out of jealousy and Sonic returned the favor by defending their friend from the others using their fear of the dark and mirrors against them. 

Sonic and Tantamount loved being around each other and once Tantamount had left permanently the two always missed each other.

Dusk:

Dusk was an elderly Owl that lived relatively close to an orphanage that Sonic stayed at. 

They noticed a young hedgehog was examining their plane, the Sonic Tornado, and offered to tell them about it and even offered to take them for a ride, and since Sonic had already been interested in planes, this was an offer they couldn't refuse and one that made them so so happy. The hedgehog even ended up naming themself after Dusk's plane. 

As Sonic continued to return they even ended up sharing other things with Dusk like the poetry they write and Dusk shared their own interest, video games, namely Shin Megami Tensei and Persona which became a lifelong interest of theirs. They found each other's interest to be remarkable. 

Dusk deeply enjoyed Sonic's company since they didn't hear from their family and they also appreciated the assistance with certain things they could no longer handle by themself due to their declining health, those health issues were also the reason they couldn't bring themself to adopt Sonic despite the two being well suited to one another, and unfortunately the aforementioned health issues would take Dusk's life leaving Sonic with a painful amount of grief.

Toma:

Toma, full name Tomato the Maned Wolf, is the creator of the Wispons as well as a weaponsmith. Sonic found them constructing various weapons that the Resistance needed and Sonic stopped to watch out of curiosity, Toma didn't mind since they were doing it out in the open with the intention of people watching and when Sonic ask about how Wispons work Toma gladly explained, they always appreciated people taking interest in the work they believe determines their worth. 

While talking to Toma, Sonic realized that they're pretty funny and a great storyteller and Sonic found themself always happy to talk to them and Toma realized they were always happy to talk to Sonic. After the two became each other's Favorite People and roommates they got to be together more. 

They like playing games together because Toma gets to infodump about the weapons in the game and Sonic gets to play while having someone talk in the background, it was similar to listening to a podcast but nicer. They also love doing weird, chaotic stuff together like making a homemade sensory deprivation tank, throwing hand axes at each other and trying to dodge, discussing murdering each other while on helium, doing a wine sauna, cooking with one blindfolded and the other on video call, running around like horses then getting saddles and riding one another despite Sonic's back quills, making a homemade bloodbath, and attempting to slap cook a chicken. 

Outside of being chaotic they also support one another's mental health recovery journey. Sonic has helped Toma begin to feel safer both giving and receiving kindness and with Toma's support Sonic started to feel safer communicating their needs.

Ashura:

Ashura the Dingo was the result of one the offshoot projects stemming from the original, canceled Project Ultimate Lifeform, that being Project Regeneration, and they met Sonic not too long after Eggman destroyed their village by unleashing Dark Gaia. 

They and Sonic started to hang out more once they learned they had similar music tastes and enjoyed dancing. Sonic encouraged the dancing Ashura kept private from almost everyone else and Ashura introduced Sonic to composing music and the pair decided to collaborate to make songs together, Sonic typically writing the lyrics and Ashura leading in creating the music, then Sonic would dance to their songs, and they'd post them online, on occasion Ashura would even dance in them too. The two find it fun to make things together and get mostly positive reception for their creations. 

Given the subject matter of the songs Sonic writes Ashura became comfortable enough to discuss things that they haven't even tried to talk about with anyone in years and Sonic would always validate their friend's feelings, something Ashura is grateful for. 

Ashura also finds Sonic to be the least mentally draining person they know and they typically don't feel the need to isolate as long after interacting with them as they do with others.

Thanks to a dream I had I have a new Sonic Unleashed based AU...

So instead of a Werehog he's basically a vampire + bat BUT he doesn't transform back at day to give him the vampire/dark Gaia minion weakness. He's got a bunch of bat-like qualities and some new abilities too! Main one being a supersonic screech, of course!

Sonic Crack Ships

So lately I've been going through a Sonic phase though its mostly a Tails phase if im being honest with myself. I've been trying to watch all the Sonic media and read all the Sonic comics that I can while playing a few Sonic games here and there. So my messed up brain came up with this stupid idea. What if I put every version of every canon Sonic characters from all Sonic media into multiple rounds of the hunger games simulator until only ones left. So I did that and even though I literally did it yesterday I already forgot who won I just remember it was something stupid. I also did it with all the diffrent canon and AU versions of Tails I could find and the winner was actually Tails from Sonic Boom. But anyways im getting off track where im going with this is that today while I was doing nothing lying in bed my brain came up with an even more messed up idea. What if I put all the Sonic characters not including the humans into a random wheel picker on Google to form a bunch of crack ships. So I did it for every character on the wheel. I now have a list. And I have decided to post this list because I find it funny. And I dare people to draw a couple from this list together or make a short cute crack story about one of these ships. And if you do please send a link to me. Ill die laughing if anyone does this. Sorry if I misspelled some names. P.S. I tried to put pictures on here for each character but I couldn't figure out how. I already have a part 2 for this in the works with even more characters.
