Just been thinking about the scene in "Gorizilla" where Adrien jumps off the skyscraper and Gabriel is forced to show some emotions while writing another post and I... I just-
Gabriel you selfish dick, what the hell??
Tumblr media
I was just as glad as everyone else to see Gabriel expressing genuine concern and fear for Adrien, it hit especially hard BECAUSE he was being Hawkmoth at that moment. But this
Tumblr media
THIS???
I just noticed how much of a bastard thing this was of him to say.
Think about it. This situation came to be because Gabriel completely disregarded Adrien when he just wanted to ask his father the short but very important question (which Adrien made known) of getting to see his mothers film in the movie theaters and send him away to his room when he noticed Adriens ring again which led to him suspecting Adrien to be Chat Noir. Gabriel wanted to confront Adrien about it but because Gabriel literally treated him like shit Adrien run away to see it anyway to which Gabriel reacts by sending the Gorilla after him (go after him yourself jerk,YOU fucked this up). The Gorilla can't catch Adrien though so Gabriel chews him out and immediately akumatizes him so Adrien has to reveal himself to free himself so he can help Ladybug deakumatize him.
Well, things escalate eventually leading to Adrien jumping off a skyscraper at the same time Ladybug gets caught by Gorizilla leaving her unable to save him from certain DEATH and here we are now
Tumblr media
Adrien is falling to his death and Gabriel as Hawkmoth is literally BEGGING him to transform if he really indeed is Chat Noir.
....
....
Do you also see whats so genuinely fucked up about this scenario here? Let me repeat it:
Gabriel, the man who is not only the cause of all of this but also the one and only person involved who's is in complete control here, is begging ADRIEN, of whom he doesn't even know for sure if he really is Chat Noir, to transform to de-escalate his own fall to his death.
Gabriel Garbage Agreste, how DARE you start begging as if you were any kind of victim in this?!
Let me break it down just how much is wrong with all of this:
Even though Gabriel is fully aware that HE is the person in control here and is NOT sure if Adrien, who is literally about to die in mere moments, even has a definite way of saving himself, he's still putting the active "decision making" on ADRIEN. Who, let me remind you, can NOT hear Hawkmoth/Gabriel begging him to transform! Gabriel is making ADRIEN the one responsible for the outcome of this situation right now even though there is still the very real possibility that Adrien has no possible way of knowing that Hawkmoth is counting on him to transform BECAUSE HE MIGHT NOT BE A MIRACULOUS HOLDER IN THE FIRST PLACE!
It doesn't matter at all that Gabriel was correct with his suspicion because he's just immediately throwing all the responsibility he holds for this entire situation right off of himself, playing poor bystander father, when HE is the one who holds all the power and therefore should be the one immediately taking action in HIS chaos for which HIS SON is about to lose his life!
In addition to that point, let's talk about the ridiculous amount of time Gabriel let Adrien fall while just standing there waiting and begging.
Because Gabriel is not only asking Adrien to transform once, he's asking TWICE.
Tumblr media
There are 31(!!!) seconds beween Hawkmoths reaction to Adrien jumping and Ladybugs yoyo-string reaching Adrien and even though one certainly can make an argument here that the show time does not translate into the “real” time as well, but even if, there is no way in hell these 31 insane seconds would ever realistically come down to a number that isnt unforgivable long concidering the circumstances. And even then he's only letting Ladybug go to catch him because he hears Ladybug call to an absend Chat Noir for help, finally getting it through his thick skull just how close he is to having his own sons blood on his hands.
Tumblr media
Gabriel was willing to let his own, possibly innocent, son fall to his DEATH for this long for the off-chance of him revealing himself to be Chat Noir because Gabriel is unwilling or simply incapable of taking on the obvious responsibility he holds until things reach such unspeakable limits that he has to face reality for a moment so not everything goes up in flames.
But I'm not done yet. Oh no, definitely NOT.
Because even after waiting for so long he’s forced to let Ladybug go, this is still not the moment that convinced Gabriel of Adriens innocence. Its only after Wayham doubles as Adrien while Adrien transforms into Chat to join the fight that the sight of Adrien and Chat Noir at the same place eventually convinces him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at his face here and dare to tell me he wasnt still 100% convinced that Adrien could very likely be Chat Noir. Also dafuq kind of reaction is “Well, thats for the better” with THAT expression? That is NOT anywhere close to the relieved expression he SHOULD have had here! How much horrible stuff has already happened to Chat Noir at this point of the show? And THIS is how you react to the for-any-somewhat-resonable-parent GODSEND (but false) news that it wasnt your own flesh and blood you did this to? Yeah, you truly care Hawkbitch. Can someone please just call child protection services already?!
So even after this IMMENSE risk Adrien was not yet save from his supervillain father and neither was he Gabriels actual priority after “finding out” that Adrien is NOT Chat and he just put his CIVILIAN son through all of THIS. Which is exactly what happened in "heros day" part 1 and 2, where in part 1 he once again tells Gorizilla to protect Adrien, he is his "number 1 priority" but in part 2, after Adrien escaped from his akumatized bodyguard, Gorizilla is one of the giants Hawkmoth calls to himself but Gabriel has nothing to say to that. It was literally like he totally forgot about Adrien all together which is only made clearer by Hawkmoth later on straight up calling himself "a man with nothing to lose".
Tumblr media
Fuck you Gabriel, Adrien was literally never an actual priority for you and you proof it over and over again.
And apparently even a situation that proofs someones innocence in every possible factor will not be proof enough for Gabriel to accept that he was wrong if it was HIM who had to back down and take the needed action to de-escalate the situation and not someone else. Any situation that forces "weakness" of him and doesnt end with an undoubtable proof that 100% satisfies/clears his previous intention holds no worth in credibility for him, no matter how irrational or contra-productive it is to still cling onto it. Because Gabriel/Hawkmoth refuses to be the one having to back down and to be out-stubborned by anyone else. If he isnt the one tricking the others his paranoia and ego stop him from thinking clearly. Especially concering Gabriels and Adriens always worsening relationship, this is a bloody dark red allert for the future.
But besides that, lets talk about just how much of an selfish, self-centered and irresponsible thing is it of him to ask ADRIEN to pull the sacrifice in this moment?
Tumblr media
Adrien didn't refuse to transform for no reason. If he were to do it not only everybody in Paris would see it but HAWKMOTH as well and Adrien has no way of knowing that Hawkmoth at this point is not as much his enemy as he rightfully thinks and actually just wants him safe and sound right now. Adrien is perfectly aware that the moment Hawkmoth finds out about his identity he WILL take advantage of it, endangering his loved ones, friends etc (naturally including Gabriel himself as Adriens father as a big priority) and going after him mercilessly until he gets his ring. Adrien didn't refuse to save himself for nothing and that's important as hell!
Because here is Gabriel now begging Adrien to pull that exact sacrifice even though HE could stop this whenever he wanted, saving Adrien himself.
But he doesn't right away
And do you know why he doesn't?
Because stopping it required letting go of Ladybug and that could possibly lead to him losing the chance of getting her miraculous.
So this rotten insult to fatherhood wants to tell me now that he's a poor, poor father who fears for his dear sons life while basically asking ADRIEN to be the one to pull the bloody heavy sacrifice that will lead in Adriens eyes to horrible and devastating consequences for all of his loved ones and himself.
Just so Gabriel himself doesn't have to do it!
This is Gabriels default reaction by instinct. Gabriel are you FUCKING kidding me with this bullshit? How come I only noticed the fucked up second face of this scene now? I went so long actually giving Gabriel some legit credit for this but in reality this is beyond 7 stars of awful.
Once again, I applause Miraculous for this nuanced charactersation. This is what I will forever and ever love this show for and its fine to portray this because it obviously leads up to something
So let me say this with every inch of my heart:
FUCK. GABRIEL. AGRESTE!!!!

GABRIEL MAY (MALIGNANT) NSFW ALPHABET
Tumblr media
TW: mentions of dysmorphia, NSFW
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex)
Surprisingly, Gabriel actually NEEDS it, after each lovemaking session - no matter how gentle or how rough he was with you. He’ll draw the both of you a hot bath, and help you wash yourself. If you return the favour, this boy will positively melt, and let out tiny noises that sound suspiciously similar to little purrs. Afterwards, once he has patted your dry with a fluffy towel and dressed you in your favourite pyjamas, Gabriel will carry you to bed, and place you under the covers. Then, he will bring your favourite snacks and beverage, to enjoy while you huddle together to watch a movie before falling asleep.
B = Body part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Gabriel could never pick just one thing he loves about you - because he practically worships you body and soul. You are infinitely beautiful in his eyes, and the fact that you love and accept him for who he is feels like a miracle to him.
Since he doesn’t actually have a body of his own, he expresses his identity though clothes that he wears, which are different than the ones owned by Madison. Although they’re not body parts per say, he sees his leather coat and makeshift gold dagger as extensions of himself, and he enjoys donning them whenever he takes over his twin’s body. He will, sometimes, remain fully clothed during sex.
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically… I’m a disgusting person)
His pleasure is your pleasure, and he will make you cum as much as possible, if only to enjoy your desperate moans and whimpers.
Being transmasc and trapped his Madison’s body, he suffers from severe dysmorphia and doesn’t really enjoy being touched intimately. And, as stated HERE, he did communicate with his sister when the two of you decided to become intimate, because he felt like this specific situation called for his sister’s consent. She doesn’t have access to his memories regarding his sex life, though - which is for the best.
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
It’s not a secret that he loves watching you pleasure yourself. The first time he witnessed it, you weren’t aware he was there, lost as you were in the act, so he quietly enjoyed the show from the door, a smug smirk playing at the corners of his mangled mouth.
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?)
You are Gabriel’s first and only love, and the only person who ever saw him as a human being, worth of respect and adoration. So he doesn’t have that much experience, but he did his research and tried to learn as much as possible about the human body’s erogenous spots. That makes up for his lack of actual physical experience, at least most of the times. But since your guys’ relationship is based on trust, respect and communication, Gabriel is never ashamed to ask what works for you, and what doesn’t.
F = Favourite Position (This goes without saying. Will probably include a visual)
Missionary, since he usually uses his mouth, fingers or a strap-on to pleasure you - and he wants to be able to look at your face, kiss your lips and hold you in his arms during sex. Gabriel is a very tactile person, and extremely touch-starved, so he actually NEEDS to be held, caressed and comforted. It’s the main reason why he enjoys making love to you so much, because the physical intimacy is something he’d never experienced before.
G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc)
I wouldn’t say he’s particularly goofy, but he isn’t very stoic either. If anything awkward ensures during sex, he will try to make you laugh about it, so that you can relax and move on.
H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
He doesn’t actually have a private area of his own, and its pretty much Madison’s business as to how she grooms her nether region. He doesn’t actually care about those parts, since he never uses them.
I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect…)
Very intimate, very romantic and very needy. As stated above, he craves physical contact, and he melts whenever you treat him with gentleness and affection. Hold him, kiss him, caress his scarred cheeks, and tell him how good he makes you feel, and Gabriel will be putty in your hands.
J = Jack Off (Masturbation headcanon)
He doesn’t actually partake in this act, as he doesn’t enjoy looking at, or touching the private parts of the body he shares with his sister. But sometimes, he fantasizes about what he would do to you, if he had a body of his own.
K = Kink (One or more of their kinks)
Gabriel is surprisingly vanilla, but he can be pretty dominant in the bedroom. He will pin your wrists above your head, as he fucks you into the mattress, or guide you into touching yourself, his voice a mere growl coming from your phone’s speaker. Knife kink, maybe, but only when it comes to cutting off your clothes. He doesn’t wanna hurt you, so unless you insistently ask him to, Gabriel won’t hold his makeshift dagger to your throat, or drag its blade across your skin. After all, he has other ways to let out his violent frustrations, so he feels no need to bring that to the bedroom. He was hurt by people who abhorred him, and he returned the favour years later. Love and violence do not cross paths in Gabriel’s mind.
Also clothed sex, because he enjoys wearing his leather coat and gloves, as he teases your naked body mercilessly.
L = Location (Favourite places to do the do)
Anywhere inside the house, but the bedroom is his favourite, because it’s more private and safe. Plus, he enjoys taking his time, so the bed is the most comfortable option when it comes to lengthy lovemaking sessions.
M = Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going)
Whenever you treat Gabriel with kindness and love, he will feel the need to bring you pleasure, and show you just how much he covets you. For him, sex is a means of expressing his affection for you - it’s an act of adoration and gratitude.
N = NO (Something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
He will NOT hurt you, ever, no matter how much you insist. You are the only person who has ever treated him right, and he cannot bear the thought of harming you in any way.
O = Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc)
Enjoys giving, and is very enthusiastic about it. This boy will eat you out for hours, and has become fucking expert at it. He knows just how to angle his face, and use his teeth and tongue to cause you maximum pleasure. Your taste is heaven to him, and your needy moans and whimpers are music to his ears. He will edge you, he will overstimulate you, he will play your body like a violin, using his mouth and fingers alone.
P = Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
Depends on the mood. Slow and sensual is his go to, but he can be rough if you ask him to. But regardless of the pace, Gabriel is ALWAYS very passionate, and completely dedicated to your pleasure. Also, this boy is inhumanly strong, so he may end up becoming rough without even realizing it - but in case it becomes too much, all you have to do is tell him, and Gabriel will apologise and treat you more gently.
Q = Quickie (Their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
Not opposed to them, but he prefers taking his time.
R = Risk (Are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.)
He’s willing to try anything, so long as it doesn’t cause you any actual harm. Hickeys and faint finger-shaped bruises happen a lot, since he doesn’t always calibrate his strength properly all the time.
S = Stamina (How many rounds can they go for, how long do they last…)
Oh, he could go on forever. Remember he experiences pleasure exclusively through you, so he never gets tired of it.
T = Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)
Oh, yes, 100% a fan of toys, all of them meant to drive you utterly insane with pleasure.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
The most unfair and maddeningly patient tease to ever walk this Earth. He will edge you until you’re crying and begging for release - and only then will he CONSIDER to maybe let you cum.
V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make)
Low growls and muffled moans are the best he can do - although he may use your phone’s speaker to talk dirty to you.
W = Wild Card (Get a random headcanon for the character of your choice)
Gabriel really enjoys sucking on and playing with your nipples. And, yes, he has actually made you cum by solely teasing and fondling your chest.
X = X-Ray (Let’s see what’s going on in those pants, picture or words)
As I said, he uses a strap-on, which is just the right length and thickness to bring you maximum pleasure. In fact, the more I think about it, the more inclined I am to believe he consulted with you before buying it.
Y = Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)
I would say his sex drive is medium to low, so unless you initiate it - case in which he will be delighted to take you to the bedroom - he will rarely bring it up. But he does have his moments, when he simply craves your passionate embrace.
Z = ZZZ (… how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
It depends. Sometimes he falls asleep as soon as aftercare has been performed, and sometimes he stays awake a little while longer, just to watch you sleep peacefully by his side.

My One And Only - Chapter 8
Previous | Next
So this chapter is longer than the previous one and hOpefuLly my writing will get better with each new chapter. One can only hope. And I’m updating this daily cuz I wanna be caught up with all of my chapters so I don’t forget to post one by accident. But the daily updates will unfortunately stop after chapter 13, I guess. For now, enjoy! *totally not debating if I should post chapter 9* also Gabriel, no
Uncle Jagged: Nettie! I got everything ready. Wanna record a bonus track for my new album?
'Oh god'
—————————————————————
Marinette kept rereading the message to make sure she had read it correctly. The message never changed. "Oh Tikki what if my voice sounds horrible? Uncle Jagged will be disappointed and then he won't have me as his designer anymore! He'll probably tell everything to everyone, to Gabriel Agreste, Clara, Chloe's mother and to the whole public!"
"Calm down Marinette!" Tikki flew out the bag and hugged the bluenette's face. "I'm sure you'll do just fine!"
"Thanks Tikki" Marinette said hesitantly. She then approached the hotel doors and towards the elevators. She had felt the gaze of the receptionists and one of them had got up with the intention to talk to her, only to be dragged back down by the fellow receptionist, the one who Marinette talked to yesterday. The bluenette had taken full notice of this but chose to ignore it. She then reached Damian's hotel room and knocked on the door. She heard something metallic drop on the floor followed by a slightly muffled word. Marinette knew exactly what he said but she was confused. She then heard the same voice again though much clearer this time.
"You can come in, the door is unlocked"
~~~
Damian had just finished showering, he was half dressed when he got a message from 'Angel'. He had changed used this nickname as her contact name.
Angel: I got an hour and half till my meeting with Uncle J, you want me to come over?
Damian smiled. Honestly, if he could he would give all his time to her.
Me: Sure, come over whenever you want I don't mind
He was about to put his shirt on when he got an urge to practice with his katana, which he did. He made a mental note about getting dressed soon and he went to the case which his katana was located. He then practiced different stances as well as practicing different motions with the blade. He thought of the bluenette. When he first met her, she struck him as someone defenseless and vulnerable. But he now had the feeling she could take down someone twice her size. Though, that didn't stop him from feeling obligated to protect her. He had become so focused that when someone knocked he tensed. Not that much but enough to loose grip of his katana. The blade sunk into his skin and left quite a deep cut on his upper arm and on the right side of his chest, causing him to drop his katana.
"Scheiße!" He didn't react to the pain, it was the thought of Marinette walking in on this situation. 'Since when do I know German?' "You can come in, the door is unlocked" 'Damn it that's not what I meant!'
Marinette opened the unlocked door to see a shirtless Damian. She probably would've metaphorically died at that point if she didn't take notice to the whole situation. Not only was he shirtless, he was bleeding. 'How did-' she noticed the katana. 'Oh, makes sense now'. The bluenette then sprinted into action. She closed the door behind her, put her bag down quickly but still being mindful of Tikki and turned her attention to the now flustered Damian. She grabbed the arm that wasn't cut and carefully dragged him onto the sofa, she also looked at the katana on her way there while taking some mental notes. 'Looks clean, no rust or scratches that could contain bacteria and seems so have been cleaned thoroughly before use. Great! That makes my job easier'.
"What are you-"
"Hush Shaytan" Marinette interrupted while going to the bathroom, searching for one of those medkits. "Let me take care of you" she said while getting one of the disinfectants in the kit. Marinette then carefully rubbed the liquid into his wounds.
"It stings" he grumbled.
"Awww don't worry little Dami, it will stop stinging soon" Marinette said lightheartedly, as if she was comforting Manon.
"Tt I am not five" he grumbled again. He shifted his body so that Marinette could properly bandage his chest and right arm. After she was done, he flexed his arm. 'She did extremely well' "Thank you, Angel. You really are a life saver". He subconsciously smirked when he saw her face turn a shade of pink.
"Thanks, did I bandage it correctly? I hope I did, oh no what happens if it doesn't heal correctly? What happens if-" she suddenly stopped as Damian had pulled her in close to his chest.
"Honestly you did perfectly Habibti, there's no need to worry" he stroked his fingers through her deep blue hair as a way to calm her down further, but he himself enjoyed it. He knew how Marinette would always think that she's the one at fault and he came up with a way to calm her down. From the looks of it, it was working.
Marinette blushed when Damian had pulled her into his chest, even more so when she felt his fingers brush through her hair. It felt like it had genuine emotion with it, not only just to make her feel better. She took advantage of being close to his chest, his wounds, and used her powers outside the mask to let the wound heal faster. Now knowing that it would heal soon, she enjoyed his embrace, burying herself further into his muscular body. The she remembered something. "So what are we gonna do about your spilt blood?"
"You say that like I deal with this often" he said with a smug looking face. Marinette then had a 'I know you do' face. He jokingly sighed. "I shall clean it and before you object, I feel fine enough to do a simple task such as this." Her giggling brought a smile to his face. "Also have you worked out what Jagged Stone has in mind for you?"
"I'll tell you that after you tell me how you know German" Marinette shifted so that he could get up. "If I recall, you told me that you were fluent in French, Arabic, English and Spanish and that you were learning Japanese. I don't remember German ever coming up" she said in a jokingly serious tone.
"Actually I'm fluent in Japanese now" Damian murmured while getting something from one of his cases, 'Something to clean the blood I suppose' "I was taught an easy way to learn languages, I might have crossed German once before but if so I just forgot about it. Also, how do you know German?"
"Well if you have any interest in learning a new language you'd want to know the swear words, am I right?" She giggled.
"Fair point" he chuckled while allowing his blood to soap into something he brought, a tissue or towel perhaps. "Now, do you know what Jagged Stone's surprise is for you?"
"Yeah, he wants me to record a bonus track for his album"
Damian paused just as he had finished disinfecting his katana. "Wow, that's great Angel!"
"Yes I'm very grateful to Uncle Jagged for organizing all this but what if I sound horrible? I do want to do it for him really, I don't want to turn the offer down but I-"
"Angel, there is no need to worry. If you're not comfortable with it you can tell Jagged, he'll understand. But I'm sure you have a beautiful voice"
"You really think so?" Marinette murmured. Damian nodded. She gave him a thank you smile before saying, "So, what's this quick way of learning a language? I've got 30 minutes"
Damian chuckled. "Well the first thing you would want to know is..."
~~~
'Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the only one in class whose been able to stop herself from getting akumatized. She must be very strong, physically and mentally. My point was proven when she became Multimouse, wearing nearly every miraculous that I've ever heard or come across. Ladybug must trust her greatly. I must find a way to akumatize her'
Gabriel Agreste stood in his observatory after recently detransforming. 'She can control her emotions well but when she's angry, it's incredibly strong. This girl could be one of the strongest in Paris, she could be one that senses auras. I must find a way. I will use her to eliminate all of heroes. All I need is time'.

“Your dad should be home now,” checking her watch, she noted how their quick trip to the supermarket to grab a small list turned into them visiting 5 shops. Some video game they ‘just wanted to see was in stock’. Yeah, sure, like she was born yesterday. Tyler and Lochlyn knew fine well that they only needed to give her a pair of puppy eyes to get her to buy it for them, and so she did. Even though she knew Lochlyn didn't really have a clue what she was asking for, the game would probably be for Tylers entertainment alone. Taliah didn’t mind though, if she could? She would give them the whole world. “Alright, here’s the deal,” walking through the door with the bags, the kids carrying what they could too. “You two put all this away and I’ll stay and cook your favourite for dinner. It was pizza last week, chow mein the week before... What is it this week?” She chuckled, shrugging out her jacket and walking over to the sofa, greeting Gabe with a ruffle of his hair. Taliah flops down on the sofa, waiting until they dispersed into the kitchen before sitting up straight. “We gotta talk.” She says seriously. “Tyler. Does he have a girlfriend? Boyfriend? Because he kept smiling at his phone every time a text came through and I just need to be clear that the safe sex talk? It’s coming from you and you alone. So if you haven’t already had that talk, I’d get on it. Unless you wanna potentially be grandpa gabe.”

Hoodies are for Comfort
Based off the promo for 2.08 & helped along by @moviegeek03 . Girl your support means everything & I hope this fic delivers everything you want
GTHB Masterlist; Read on A03
Carlos was currently holding his boyfriend on the couch with the TV playing quietly in the background. TK was currently wearing his favorite grey hoodie and over top of that was Carlos’s zip-up APD hoodie with sweats and two pairs of socks. TK always insisted he likes Carlos’s hoodies better because they always provided more comfort. So Carlos had done his best to find one that would fit over the one TK was currently wearing, even though his hoodies usually swallowed TK whole. TK also had every blanket from the living room laid over him, and he was still shivering a little. Carlos hated it; he just wanted to warm TK up.
“Hey, you still awake?” he murmurs as he cards a hand through TK’s hair being as careful as possible of the stitches in the back of his head.
"Mmmm," TK hums softly as he leans back on Carlos more.
"Mmm is not good enough," Carlos teases as he kisses the back of TK's neck.
"Babe," TK whines softly as he burrows further in the covers and hoodies.
"I know. I'm sorry. But I can't let you sleep yet. That's what we promised the doctor when he released you. Otherwise you'd still be there."
"I know," TK sighs. "But I just wanna sleep and it's too cold."
Carlos runs a hand to TK's forehead. "You're pretty warm mi amor." Hr reaches for the thermometer on the side table beside him. He holds it to TK's ear and watches the numbers rise filling him with more relief. "You're right below normal," Carlos tells him, showing him the thermometer.
TK nods as he relaxes more into Carlos. "Can probably sleep for a little bit," TK murmurs.
Carlos let's out a soft sigh. "Ok short nap. I'm waking you in an hour," he says as TK gets comfy, being careful of the bruises and stitches. Carlos tucks the blankets around him more, and sets an alarm to wake TK in an hour. He softly keeps his hand moving through TK's hair as TK falls right to sleep.
Carlos softly kisses his head as he thinks back over the most stressful twenty-four hours of his life.
When he'd gotten the call from Owen that the entire paramedic team was not responding and appeared off grid going on an hour and half, he'd felt worried. When he'd broken away from his dad with the excuse of a case even though he'd just clocked out, he thought they'd find them quickly. Only he discovered the empty parking garage, and TK wasn't answering his calls, texts or SOS messages.
They reported it like they were supposed to, Grace having already alerted her supervisors the paramedics weren't responding. His entire precinct was on the case, even some of his off duty friends coming in to help. The 126 team still descended on the parking garage as one unit, but split off into pairs to looks for their missing members not wanting to be left out of the search for their family. Judd declared he was going with Carlos, having taken on the captain role for Owen who was equally distressed he couldn't reach his son. Paul took Owen leaving Marjan and Mateo to team up.
Carlos nods knowing Judd is right, so they stop for coffee and a sandwich. Judd makes the comment trying to fill the silence and distract Carlos about wrapping TK in bubble wrap and never letting him leave the station again, and Carlos can't help but agree. He thought the medic job would be safer and he wouldn't have to worry about grey hair just yet. But TK, as always, is proving him wrong. "Hey, isn't your dad a Ranger?" Judd asks.
After three hours of looking and tracing every step they could think of with no luck, Carlos was at his wits in. Judd was making him take a coffee break, despite his instance to keep going. "Carlos, you're not gonna be any good to him if you don't take a minute for yourself. Believe me I wanna find him just as bad, but he's gonna need you in top shape."
"Yea. Why?" Carlos asks confused at the change in direction of conversation.
"Just thinking he might have some pull somewhere we could use."
Carlos nods as he thinks it over. It doesn't take him long and he's pulling out his phone making the call. He gives his dad the short version and agrees to wait for him at the coffee shop. "He doesn't know about us," Carlos tells Judd quietly not meeting his eyes.
"I know. TK told me. I won't tell your secret Reyes, but I hate to be the one to break it to ya. If your dad is anywhere as smart as I image he is, he's going to figure it out. You're not gonna be able to hide that emotion," Judd says gesturing to his face.
Carlos nods knowing Judd is right. They sit in silence for a few more minutes before he sees his dad's truck pull up behind Judd's. "Could you give me a minute with him? I'll tell him, then we can go."
"Course," Judd nods as he heads out to his truck, nodding at Carlos's dad as he goes. Carlos tells his dad the truth, that one of the missing paramedics is his boyfriend and that he'll explain more on that later, before he tells his dad all the case facts they know. "We'll find him," Gabriel says squeezing Carlos's shoulder. Carlos does his best to hold back the tears, but one does escape.
They leave the little coffee shop in Gabriel's truck as Gabriel makes some calls. As they drive around Carlos explains things to his dad, Judd having decided to follow them so Carlos could speak freely. He hates the pained look on his dad's face when he explains why he lied and how long he and TK had been a couple, but thankfully he doesn't press Carlos for more than he's willing to share just yet.
It takes another 2 hours before TK's phone location comes back on; it takes another 30 minutes for them to get to the location. Carlos and his dad go in guns drawn not waiting for backup having gotten a text Nancy covertly sent from TK's phone because his was the only one not busted. The rest of the 126 arrive not long after them. Tommy and Nancy appear unhurt, but shook up and terrified. When Nancy told Carlos that TK was in the freezer, he panicked. He opened the door and saw TK slumped against the wall passed out with blood on the back of his head. Thankfully he hadn't been in there too long Tommy informed them, but long enough his body temperature had dropped, and he had stopped shaking despite the cold.
Gabriel shooed Carlos into the back of the ambulance with the promise to talk to Andrea for him and to check on them soon. "Thanks Dad" Carlos says trying to hold back his tears as he climbed in the back with his boy. It took several hours in the ER for TK to get stitched up from being pistol whipped Carlos learned, and for his temperature to come up enough for them to be released. He had a concussion, six stitches and several bruises on top of almost severe hypothermia. They're discharged about eight am with strict instructions to take it easy and return if TK's symptoms worsen.
Carlos let's out another soft sigh as he kisses the top of TK's head glad his boy is safe in his arms once more. Today, well yesterday at this point, had been one of the scariest of his life. He didn't know what he'd do if he ever really lost TK. He knows he needs to call his parents too; needs to properly talk to them about the new bomb he just dropped on them, but he can't bring himself to do it just yet. He feels emotionally drained, but he can't sleep either, fearing something will happen to TK while he's asleep.
"You're thinking too much," he hears murmured as TK tries to burrow closer. Even though his temperature is almost back to normal, he can't shake the cold feeling.
"Sorry cariño," Carlos whispers as he adjusts to TK's wiggling. He tucks the blankets around him more, and before he can ask TK if he's ok, there is a knock at his door making him furrow his brow. He silences his alarm to wake TK, even though TK woke on his own, thankfully.
"Who the?" He questions not happy about the interruption.
"Probably dad," TK sighs knowing Owen has asked for hourly updates, which he thought was a little ridiculous. He knows his dad wants to talk about his and his mom's previous behavior, and try to make amends, but TK just isn't ready to deal with his parents’ problems yet.
Carlos rearranges TK on the couch before he goes to open the door. Carlos is extremely shocked when he opens it to see his parents standing there. Gabriel is holding a crock pot that Carlos is almost positive is full by the smell, and Andrea is holding a rather large bag.
"Mamì? Dad?" Carlos greets as he opens the door wider at Andrea's expectant look.
"Carlitos," she smiles patting his cheek as she walks by.
"Don't try and argue with her mijo," Gabriel says heading for the kitchen when he sees the argument forming on the tip of Carlos’s tongue.
"Don't you dare," Andrea says to TK when she sees him trying to sit up and uncover. "I hear you've had a rather rough day TK. So please stay put," she says as Carlos stares on with the most adorably confused face.
She turns to her son next, "Well Carlitos not even a hug again?" She questions with a grin reminding them of the farmer's market day.
"Mamì," he groans but he does hug her. "What are you doing here?" He finally asks.
"Manners mijo! I raised you better than that," she scolds making TK giggle a little as Carlos blushes. He does finally make his way back to the couch to help TK prop up more as Andrea pushes him that way. He sits beside him, TK understanding Carlos is not comfortable with a lap full of boyfriend in front of his parents.
"Your dad explained everything that happened," Andrea starts as Gabriel joins them, and they finally sit across from the boys. "So I made your favorite Chile Verde for you two and brought a surprise," she says with a large grin as she finally digs into the bag she carried in.
"You really didn't have to go through all this trouble mam," TK says as Andrea starts pulling out a gorgeous quilt. He sees Carlos's eyes go wide and is slightly confused.
"Nonsense," Andrea says carrying the quilt over to the couch. “And you don’t have to ‘mam’ me even though it’s sweet,” she grins at him. Carlos still hasn't said anything, and it's really stressing TK out. "Besides I wanted to. Chile Verde is Carlos's favorite soup, and it will warm you right up. This will too," she says tucking the quilt around TK atop his mound of blankets. "This was Carlos's favorite, especially when he was sick. His Abuela made it when Gabriel and I got married. Carlos always told me he wanted it when he was older. His sisters all have one picked out as well, and I figured now would be a good time to give it to him."
"Mamì," Carlos finally chokes out his eyes filled with tears. TK sneaks a hand out from under all the blankets and lays it on Carlos's knee giving it a squeeze.
Andrea moves over and cups Carlos's cheek before kissing his forehead. "Shhh mijo," she whispers as she wipes his tears, hearing everything he can't say just yet. "We love you, and that's all that needs to be said right now," she whispers hearing her husband agree.
Carlos nods and let’s his mama hug him tight. He feels TK squeezing his knee. “Gracìas Mamì,” he murmurs as she moves back to sit by Gabriel.
They stay a little longer, getting to know TK, which helps Carlos keep him awake a while longer. The soup is absolutely delicious, and TK praises Andrea for passing her culinary skills on to Carlos. When they see both boys on the verge of crashing from exhaustion, they decide to head back to the ranch. Andrea makes them promise to come out for Sunday dinner soon as well as call if they were to need anything in the coming days. Carlos promises they will, and promises to have dinner even sooner with just his parents so they can talk like they need to.
Once he sees them out, he helps TK up off the couch to go to bed. TK insists on taking the quilt because it is super warm and will look amazing on their bed. They curl up together, TK finally feeling warm and happy and Carlos feeling exhausted enough to sleep. Things might not always be perfect, but they'll always have each other and their family.

post hawkmoth gabriel is outed as hawkmoth and no one except mari knows adrien is chat mari gows to batboys and one day adrien comes to visit her and the batboys think that adrien is here to get revenge on mari but imagine their shock when mari squeals and jumps into his arms and hugs him like theres no tomorrow (this isnt my idea but i wanted to see your take on it)
Note: So lack of motivation is a bitch and I’m surprised that writing and rewriting this fic worked. Hopefully, this stands up to your expectations.
“Breaking news, Adrien Agreste, the former head model of Gabriel Agreste Fashion, was seen walking down the streets of Gotham, New Jersey late last night. Tune in later for more Gotham gossip…” The volume slowly becomes muted leaving the person holding the remote sitting in silence.
Soon a series of noises, such as items hitting the floor, a body struggling to move fills the room ambiance sound. It wasn’t long before a phone’s ring tone goes off. More rustling is heard. The music stops, then there was a pause.
“Yeah, I just watched the news. So, what’s the plan. I already have Barb on speed dial.” A male’s voice states into the phone. This is Richard “Dick” Grayson on the four-way call with his brothers.
“Demon Spawn’s in charge of keeping, Pixie, busy. She cannot know that he’s in town.” Jason states before hearing his younger brother tsking at such an easy request. Of course, he could keep his fiancée busy in the meantime.
“Of course, I can keep my beloved busy, you imbeciles.” Damian scoffs at his brothers. In fact, his beloved was most likely in her studio right now working on a commission.
“Good, good, keep her away from any source of news. We all know how Gotham Gossip works. The rest of you meet me at WE and we’ll figure out a way to get Agreste out of here.” Tim explains to which everyone mumbles their agreements and slowly hang up on one another.
“What was all that about?” Kori asks coming out of the bedroom, rubbing her eyes.
“Oh, you know, the same old same old.” Dick smiles at his wife who raises an eyebrow but shrugs instead and goes into the kitchen.
“Ready for some more gossip Gotham! Former son of the Parisian terrorist was found shopping at Coccinelle de Pixie storefront that was recently vandalized not long after with the words ‘Traitor’ spread painted in black across the window…”
Timothy Drake sat in his executive chair nursing a new cup of steaming coffee. Gotham’s Gossip playing on a radio that he soon turned off and shakes his head. All the more evidence to place Adrien Agreste behind bars just like Paris did his father. For years, everyone thought Adrien was in cahoots with his father in terrorizing Paris, Adrien made no statement and he stayed away from the media.
“Mr. Drake, your brothers are here.” His assistant announces through the coms. Tim quickly replies knowing that his brothers are seconds away from breaking down his office doors.
“You heard the latest gossip?” Jason practically demands. Tim could feel the anger rolling off his predecessors. “Of course, you did, you wouldn’t be listening if you hadn’t. I swear if Gordon doesn’t find the culprit, I will.” Jason slams his fist against the wooden desk, to which Tim simply takes a sip of his coffee and stare directly at his brothers.
Tim would never say it aloud, but he was surprised to see Damian especially after he was given the job of keeping the person that claim as their sister busy for the evening.
“I don’t care what methods you use Todd, as long as the person—” Cough, Agreste, cough, “is behind bars and locked up with the worst of the worst.” Damian gave his brother the answer he needs.
“Back to the issue at hand.” Tim sets his cup down. “Babs sent me Agreste’s itinerary from his hotel location to any phone history. So far, we have gathered he is in contact with someone under the name Buginette, unfortunately, that number is tied to a burner. They are making plans that seem on the verge of making Bean suffer.”
“Great, we have our main suspect and we can’t even call his accomplice,” Jason growls, he hates feeling helpless but that only has so much time before Adrien could make his attempt.
“I wouldn’t say that; Dick you’ll be tailing Agreste, from his GPS location, he should be passing by WE any minute now. Use this and the GG, as we all know she’s in for the latest scoop.” Tim hands Dick a device with a beeping red dot moving. Dick examines the devices before placing them in his pockets.
“We have until eight o’clock tonight to detain him. This Buginette and he plans on meeting at an unknown location. We will intercept them either both or right on.” Tim then takes another sip giving his siblings time to process any information that he just gave.
“Just in, GCPD found a bunch of dead ladybugs in front of the Chordate Hotel, the hotel that Adrien Agreste is rumored to be staying at. Is this retribution to the future Mrs. Wayne as we all know how much she loves ladybugs…?” The broadcaster’s voice carries over the car’s radio.
Damian Wayne could help but tighten his hands around the steering wheel. Someone was after this fiancée and he felt helpless about it. Marinette doesn’t deserve any of this. She has too much to worry about with the wedding and her growing fashion empire.
He pulls up in front of their shared apartment and immediate parks into his parking space.
“Angel, I’m home.” He calls out tossing his keys into the decorative bowl that on the end table next to the front door.
“In the back room.” A female’s voice calls back. Damian smiles practically visualizing the smile on his fiancée’s face.
Walking past a series of boxes, Damian makes it to the back room. Marinette is kneeling next to a mannequin, hand sowing the lace fabric into place. Damian couldn’t help but watch her work in awe. They have known each other for years and even today her working still amazes him.
“Are we still going over to Bruce’s tonight?” Marinette asks looking up briefly to acknowledge her fiancé and give him a smile. Damian was quick to answer her with a yes to which she nods and turns her attention back to the gown. “I should be done in an hour. I also have a couple of stops to make before we head over. Or do you wanna carpool with your brothers while I drive?”
Ding, ding. Damian knows that the messages coming through are from his brothers. “I’ll be fine; getting a ride with Grayson.” He answers before grabbing his phone and unlocking it to view the messages.
“Dami…Dami…” Damian turns away from his phone to stare into the blue eyes of his fiancée. “I thought I lost you there for a minute; you didn’t respond when I had asked whether you’re going out tonight for patrol?”
“Tt, I am going on patrol with the others tonight. Doing a run before and after dinner.” He answers hoping that she doesn’t question it. Marinette narrows her eyes before shrugging and continuing with her sowing.
Quickly getting changes, it wasn’t long before Damian receives a message from Dick stating that he’s out in front. Damian gives Marinette a goodbye kiss and exits out of the apartment.
“Wha’sup Gotham. Tonight’s segment is saucy. With Adrien Agreste out in the public, the batbros are out and about. I swear I just some red outside the studio window. Now onto the sauce—”
“Are you seriously listening to the crap with the mask on?” Robin questions Red Robin, who waves his in his defense. “Should the target get here by now?” He looks over the building to view the streets.
Behind the two vigilantes, Nightwing and Red Hood appear on the rooftop.
“Agreste should be arriving in five according to his GPS location.” Nightwing states and a ringing sound goes through their coms.
“Nightwing is right. Though is it for certain that Mr. Agreste is the person behind the attacks against Miss Marinette?” Agent A’s voice rings through the coms. The four brothers look to one another all being on the same wavelength. They all think that Adrien Agreste is behind the attacks. There was no other reason to explain it. He arrives in Gotham and then there are attacks against Mari through her storefront and favorite animal/insect.
“We’re sure, Agent A,” Tim responds as the device on this wrist beeps. At the same time, a rental car pulls up across the building and parks. Adrien Agreste gets out of the car and straightens out his collar.
“Target is in place. All we’re missing is this Buginette person and we’ll move in.” Red Hood pulls out an AK-47 and position it to lock on Adrien. He wasn’t going to kill the blonde male, maybe just skim a little off the top or scare him shitless.
Down below, Adrien pulls out his phone and calls someone. Immediate the batbros knew that he is talking to this Buginette person, it’s not because Red Robin has the recording playing as well.
About five minutes later, a familiar dark car pulls up. Robin looks at the car in suspicion. This car was the same model that he has and shares with Marinette from time to time. From the corner of his eye, he could see Red Hood etching his finger closer to the trigger.
Adrien runs over to the car shouting “Buginette” happily to the person inside.
The car door opens and immediately they hear a gunshot. The door closes and Adrien jumps back. Red Hood side-eyes his brothers as Robin silently hopes that he is wrong for once.
This “Buginette” person finally gets out of the car to reveal a Marinette Dupain-Cheng, who was no doubly staring in their direction.
“Well shit.” Red Hood groans just as the rest of the family facepalm or are into much of a shock to do anything.
“Hold on for a second, Adrien,” Marinette states holding out her hand as her other hand goes to grab her phone.
On the rooftop, Red Hood’s phone was going off. None of them wanted to answer it. In fact, there were certain that they didn’t want to answer. Instead of taking it like a man, the brother quickly gathers their items and disappear off the roof.
“Do I even want to know, what’s going on, Buggy?”
“No, Kitten, you don’t wanna know.” Marinette huffs and places her phone back in her purse. “I have an hour to hour to kill before I dinner and you and I have a lot to catch up on.” Marinette wraps her hands around Adrien’s shoulder, who smiles sheepishly at the dark-haired woman. “I hear that you and—”
“Mari!” Adrien interrupts blushing a deep red to which Marinette laughs and opens the door to the building.
An hour later, Adrien stands behind Marinette, who was on a warpath knocking against the large doors to Wayne Manor. They could hear furniture moving, people yelping, and a cough. Alfred stands at the with a greeting smile like no other, though Adrien could sense the double meaning.
“Good evening, Alfred, how are you?” Marinette greets with that sickly-sweet smile; Adrien knows all too well. Marinette never the one to keep the deadly appearance apart of her getup but she knows how to use her best aspects for the worst.
“Good evening, Miss Marinette and you is your guest?”
“Oh, silly me, this is my brother in everything but blood, Adrien Dupain-Cheng.” Marinette gestures for Adrien to follow. She places her jacket and purse down and examines the room. Of course, the couch was being used as a blockage.
“Ooh…boys?” Marinette sings walking past the couch, setting each and everyone right side up.
In the dining room, the four men all look to one another scared to utter a single sound. They did not want to deal with Marinette, especially Jason.
“Whose bright idea was it to allow Hood to shoot at Adrien?” Marinette’s voice echoes throughout the manor’s first floor. Bruce, who was sitting at the head of the table raises an eyebrow at his sons. He wasn’t in the bat cave when they returned but they returned as quickly as they left.
Dick mouths “you don’t want to know” to his father figure and begins to sweat bullets. “Whatever happens, tell Kor’i and Mar’i that I love them.” The oldest adopted Wayne states as Marinette makes her way to the archway leading into the room.
“You don’t need to worry about that Dickie.” Marinette smiles, “I’m after Jason.” At the mention of his name, Jason darts out of his seat and through the window. Alfred and Adrien watch the scene play out in two different emotions. Adrien was curious while Alfred was just done with everything.
“I’ll place the order for a new window sir. Is any hungry for dinner?” No one answer to afraid to make them the next target to Marinette’s anger.
“Dinner sounds nice, Alfred.” Marinette smiles sending more chills down the remaining three batbros. “So, everyone, meet Adrien, my brother. Apparently, someone tried to kill him this evening, should I know something about that.”
“I’m more concerned as to why you were using a burner phone to contact Agreste.” Damian murmurs to which Marinette heard him and was immediately behind her fiancé.
Lowering herself to make sure her lips were closer to his ear, she whispers, “Why would it matter, Demon?” She leans back and gestures for Adrien to take a seat. “Adrien here was in hiding from the press and it was my idea from the start.”
Damian chokes on air, the feeling of death forever lingering. He knew there was a reason why he loves Marinette, and this was one of them.
“Is it safe to come in?” Jason’s head pops up only to get greeted by a Batarang. “Got still not safe, you know what I’ll just go eat out.” Everyone turns to Marinette, who was still showcasing her sickly-sweet smile.
“Anyone want to join him?” She asks taking the empty seat next to Damian, who was spatting himself down making sure he had no weapon on his being that she can reach.
“No, we’re all good here, um, Adrien tell us about yourself?” Tim ends the harsh silence quickly and for once he was actually awake.
Adrien smiles and begins to talk about his latest adventure.
Moments later, Alfred returns with dinner solidifying tonight’s adventure.
Much, much later…
Damian and his brothers came out of their stupor of last night’s event. “Wait then who was vandalizing Mari’s store and image?” Tim asks before pressing a cup of coffee to his lips.
Before any of them to grab their devices to hunt down the real culprit, Marinette walks into the living room. “It was an old employee of mine. He only did it because someone—by the name of Lie-la—offer him some big money. He never received it so he came clean.”
Marinette then picks up the keys from the decorative bowl and leaves her place.
The three older brothers turn to their youngest, “You better not divorce her.” They all state at the same time. Damian only nods, agreeing with his brothers for once in his life.

Nightmares and Angels
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous
Summary: The littlest Winchester has been experiencing hallucinations and nightmares of her brothers covered in blood. Can a certain whiskey eyed angel come to the rescue?
Words: 2,123
Warnings: Blood, Hallucinations, Nightmares. Reader has PTSD. Possible misrepresentation of mental illness. (I personally don’t have many experiences with PTSD or hallucinations so take everything here with a grain of salt.)
It was late. And you found yourself milling around the bunker. Again. Trying to find anything to occupy your time with in order to avoid going back to your room. You were positive that if you went to bed you’d have nightmares. You’d been having them a lot recently. Along with some other... issues that you’d yet to address. Today had been especially difficult for you in that regard. Your older brother Dean had been in the kitchen making dinner when you had another one of your ‘attacks’ as you called them.
“You want bacon on your burger?” Dean turned away from the veggies he’d been chopping to face you. You were seated at the kitchen table, nose buried in a book and just enjoying your brother's company when he had asked. Being caught off guard by the question, you let out a little ‘huh?’ “The burger.” Dean repeated. “You want bacon on it or- Ah shit!” He exclaimed suddenly. You stood from your chair to check on your brother when you saw it. A steady trail of red streamed from his thumb onto the cutting board. Apparently Dean had nicked his finger while he was distracted. You froze in place. Images flashed rapidly before you as Dean grabbed a towel to stop the bleeding. You watched in horror as the blood seeped through the towel. Slowly, it continued to spread until it was running as a steady steam down his arm pooling around his shoes. You took an unsteady step back, priming yourself to run out the door when a pair of fingers snapped in front of you. Dean was staring at you with concern. Hand wrapped in a towel completely devoid of blood. “I said can you get me a bandaid?” Dean asked. Watching you curiously as you stood there. Shaking off your latest trance, you gave Dean a sharp nod before turning to locate your first aid kit.
It wasn’t always like this. Some days were just worse than others. You had gotten so accustomed to seeing your brothers steeped in blood that you had started to see it even when it wasn’t there. Your brothers didn’t know about this. No one did. And you intended to keep it that way. They always looked as though they had the weight of the world on their shoulders and you couldn't bear to stress them out more with your personal problems. You sighed as you wandered into the kitchen. It was empty now. Your brothers had gone to bed hours ago, meaning you could roam around freely without your brothers worrying about why you were up so late. Knowing you’d be awake for a while longer, you decided to brew some coffee. You were pouring yourself a steaming cup of coffee when you heard wings flap behind you.
“Is that for me? Oh sweetheart, you shouldn’t have.” Gabriel speaks in your ear as his arms wrap around you to pull the cup out of your hand. You roll your eyes as you turn to face him. You cross your arms as you stare at the angel who has been your best friend since he’d been ‘brought back to life’. A smug smirk graced his lips as he kept your beverage from you.
“Gabe, that drink does not have nearly enough sugar for it to be for you.” You sass him as you reach out to take your cup back, but he continues to withhold it from you.
“I’ll tell you what, you give me a little sugar right now and you’ll get this drink back.” You cross your arms and groan in annoyance as the mischievous angel taps a finger to his cheek. “Come on hon, one little kiss and I’ll stop buggin’ ya. Besides, I’ve been gone for weeks! Don’t you wanna welcome me home?” It is true that he had been gone for quite a while. He and Cas had been working overtime in heaven trying to keep the lights on. Uncrossing your arms, you sigh in mock defeat as you step closer to give your favorite angel a kiss on the cheek. He lets out a dramatic gasp as you give him a quick peck. You turn your face slightly to hide the blush spreading on your cheeks. If Gabriel notices your sudden bashfulness, he doesn’t say anything.
“You only get a kiss because I did miss you.” You mutter quietly. Gabe gives you a soft, genuine smile. “Now can I have my drink back?” You raise your arms and make little grabby motions with your hands as you wait for Gabe to give your drink back.
“Hell no!” He basically shouts, showing no concern for the other sleeping tenants of the bunker. He swiftly raises his right hand and snaps the coffee out of existence. Your arms fall to your sides as you regard your friend with a look of betrayal. You open your mouth to whine at him before being quickly cut off. “You have any idea what time it is, sugar? You don’t need coffee. You need sleep.”
“You promised you’d give it back.” You said, giving Gabriel your best pout. Maybe your patented Winchester puppy dog eyes would distract the angel from the lateness of the hour.
“Honey.” Gabriel’s voice was suddenly lacking that playful tone from before. “I know you and the rest of the mystery gang are used to burning the midnight oil, but you need to take care of yourself. Are you guys even on a case right now?”
“No.” You muttered quietly. “But!”
“But nothin’ sweetheart. You gotta go to bed. Unless there's something you’re not telling me?” Gabriel had suspected that something had been up with you for a while, but damn if you weren’t a tough cookie to crack. You just huffed out a little sigh before saying goodnight to Gabriel and heading to your room. You were certainly not interested in explaining your lack of sleep to Gabe. You figured that you could probably get away with loading up Netflix on your laptop and staying up a bit longer, but Gabe was right. You desperately needed sleep. Chuck knows you’d been lacking it for the past couple weeks. You resign yourself to your fate as you get ready for bed. Maybe with Gabe in the bunker, the dreams won’t be so bad you think to yourself as your eyes slide closed.
-
Sam was suddenly woken to the sound of your screams. His bedroom being situated directly across from yours gave him the benefit of being the first one to hear your destress. In less than a second, your brother sprung up from his bed, blankets violently tossed to the side as he rushed toward your room. Once he was in the hall, he shouted once for Dean, but didn’t linger to wait for him. Instead, Sam burst into your room, shotgun in hand. Expecting some sort of intruder, Sam was caught off guard when all he found was you screaming and writhing blindly on your mattress.
“Y/N!” Sam shouted your name as he rushed to your side. Jostling your shoulder in order to wake you, your brother watched in horror as your eyes opened suddenly, falling upon his face. Instead of his presence soothing you as he thought it would, you instead jerked away from his touch and let out a scream of what he could only describe as haunting despair. From your perspective, you weren’t seeing your sweet brother Sammy as you normally would. Instead, you watched as your brother’s face was covered in blood and contorted in anguish. Desperate to get away from this haunting image, you pulled away from his grasp and pinned yourself to the headboard of the bed. As far away from your concerned brother as possible. Vaguely you recognized that he was speaking to you, but you couldn’t pull away from your panic long enough to hear him. All you could do was stare at the blood pouring down his face, repeatedly jerking away from him each time he tried to touch you or otherwise get near you. A few moments later, you were curled into a ball on your bed when the door swung open once more. It was Dean. He stood there staring at you with a worried expression similar to Sam’s, apparently having heard the ruckus you’d made. But you couldn’t focus on that. All you could see was the copious amounts of blood dripping from what appeared to be a stab wound right where his heart was. Just like when Sam approached, you jerked away from Dean when he got near you. You were unable to do anything in this moment other than tremble and sob at the horrific images of your bloodied brothers before you. You truly tried to calm yourself, but nothing seemed to soothe you. And the presence of your brothers were just making your stress worse. You couldn’t get the picture of your blood soaked brothers out of your head. Subconsciously, you desperately cried out to the only being you thought might be able to save you. You didn’t even register the new presence in your room until you felt the bed dip. Your head jerked up, frantically searching for the new intruder when you saw Gabe. He wasn’t covered in blood or half dead. He was just your Gabriel. You let out a little cry of relief when you saw him. Instantly moving to crawl into his lap for comfort.
“Hey hon, what’s going on?” You hear him whisper as he wraps his arms around you. From your spot in his lap, you couldn’t see the confusion and worry on his face as he tried to figure out what was happening.
“I can’t- I can’t make them stop!” Your voice sounds pathetic to you as you speak frantically. Gabe runs his hand through his hair, not entirely sure what to do.
“What’re you talking about? What won’t stop?” His hand falls to your head and he lets his fingers card through your hair as you whimper into his chest.
“The hallucinations! I can’t make them go away.” With your head buried in his chest, you don’t see the grim look Gabriel sends your brothers. Your brothers turn to share a look as if to say ‘Did you know about this?’
“What’re you seeing?” He turns his attention back to you. He kept his voice gentle as he spoke to you, not wanting to spook you more than you already are.
“Sam and Dean. Covered in blood. Oh God make it stop.” The trickster was positive he felt his heart break when you said this. He knew you’d been having some sort of problem that you weren’t sharing with him, but he never imagined it was anything this severe. And according to the shocked looks on your brother’s faces, they hadn’t known either. He sucks in a breath and steadies himself, wanting to be confident for you.
“Look again.” He speaks calmly. And you pull away to look him in the eyes for the first time since he arrived. You let out  a little ‘what?’ He’s patient as he speaks to you. “Look at your brothers again. It’ll be okay. I promise.” Hesitantly you do as he says. You turn your head to look at Sam and Dean as they stand helplessly in the corner of your room. Clearly unsure how to help you. To your shock, they looked completely normal. A little ruffled from getting out of bed so suddenly, but they didn’t have a speck of blood on them.
“Ho-how?” You can’t wrap your head around the sudden change.
“A little angel magic. As long as I’m here, you won’t have to worry about those pesky images.” You let out a little sob as you hugged him with renewed vigor. Gabe cuddled into bed with you and when you seemed calm enough, your brothers left the two of you alone. Dean was grumbling a bit about leaving his little sister alone with the trickster but Sam just shoved him out of the room. You were sure that they were going to have a long talk with you tomorrow, but for now they seemed content to just let you relax.
“Gabriel?” He let out a distracted ‘hmm?’ as his fingers continued to comb through your hair.
“Stay with me tonight?” You spoke so quietly that if Gabe hadn’t been an angel, he wasn’t sure he would’ve heard you.
“Anything for you, sweets.” The two of you made your way under the covers. You laid your head on Gabriel’s chest and slowly allowed yourself to succumb to sleep. Knowing that for the first time in months, you would be getting a peaceful sleep.

You quickly uncuff your wrist and then Bellamy’s, keeping your eyes on the injured leader as you do.
As soon as you’re both free, you and Bellamy exchange a look, and he nods, letting you know to attack together. You motion for him to hold the leader still and you’ll take care of the rest, and he nods in understanding before he starts to sneak up behind Asher. You come from the side, moving just as quietly, and when the two of you are within a couple of feet from him, you lunge at the same time. Bellamy reaches out and grabs him around the neck, holding him in place as the man looks around with a panic, quietly struggling. You come and stand in front of him, dropping to your knees and reaching out to grab the knife attached to his side. He has a split second to realize what you’re doing, and his eyes go wide with panic as he begs, “No, please, don’t!”
You push the knife into his chest anyways, straight to his heart, killing him quickly as you mutter, “You put up a hell of a fight, but now, yu gonplei ste odon.”
You watch the life drain from his body quickly, and once he’s no longer a threat to you, you search his pockets for anything useful. Surprisingly, the only other thing you find is your other knife. You shake your head and give the smaller knife to Bellamy, in case he needs it, and you take the Grounder knife and slide it into your waistband. You can hear the sound of the motorcycles that the Sanctum guards use outside, and you look to Bellamy, getting an idea. “Do you remember when I went after Clarke when that Azgeda army was crossing?”
You see his face light up, catching on. “You wanna disguise ourselves as Sanctum guards.”
“We’ll need to kill them quietly so they don’t alert the other guards, any ideas?”
“You play bait and I'll capture? Breaking their necks will be the quickest and quietest way to do it.”
You nod in agreement, trying to ignore the war within you, a battle raging between wanting to do better, and wanting to save Clarke. A battle between wanting to retire Wanlida, to stop killing, and to do better versus the need to kill to save your twin’s life. Ultimately, you think of your promise to Clarke, and the Universe, that you’d do anything to save her, and you resign yourself to the fact that, at least for now, Wanlida is here to stay. You and Bellamy slip out of the cave, keeping an eye out for Sanctum guards and the Children of Gabriel. As you’re running through the woods, you hear the staccato of bullets puncturing the air, and you and Bellamy exchange a look before turning towards them, sure that the Sanctum guards are the only ones that could have guns.
As you get closer to the sound, you pass a trio of motorcycles on the ground, along with Josephine’s guard, Jade. Everything about the scene screams Clarke, and you can see a line of tire tracks driving away from the scene, indicating that there was a fourth bike before Clarke stole it. You kneel down beside Jade, checking her pulse, looking to Bellamy who is gazing down at you expectantly. “Still breathing, and we should probably keep it that way. It’d be much easier to pass as a guard that isn’t the one leading the cavalry.”
He seems to agree, and the two of you sneak back into the woods again, looking out for the guards who must be close by. It’s not long before you find one of them walking around a small clearing, and Bellamy motions for you to be the bait so he can sneak up behind them. You take off running parallel to the clearing, right past the guards view, and you hear them turn towards you before they call out, “Hey! Stop!”
You freeze in place and they yell, “Turn around, hands where I can see them!”
You lift your hands, turning slowly, your eyes passing over Bellamy as he creeps towards the guard. The guard keeps their gun pointed at you, their hand shaking slightly, and your gaze locks on the movement, brows pulling together. “Have you ever used a gun before?”
“Shut up!'' They take a step towards you, preparing to take you down, but Bellamy reaches them first, swiftly breaking their neck and allowing them to drop to the ground. You and Bellamy descend on them and quickly strip them of their clothing, and Bellamy changes into the uniform and grabs the helmet and gun before the two of you walk off in search of a second guard. You find one quickly, and you and Bellamy set up another bait situation, this time with you pretending to be held captive by him, and you repeat the process, luring the guard in, killing them, and then stripping them of their clothes and weapon. Once you are dressed and ready to go, you and Bellamy both pull your helmets on and head back to the bikes, just in time to see the other guards gathered there.
Luckily for you and Bellamy, you don't have to pretend to know how to ride the motorcycles, because the group is two bikes short, so you each hop on the back with another person as Jade turns and yells, “We follow her tracks!”
You all tear through the woods on the bikes quickly, making short time of Clarke’s head start, and the tracks in the dirt end eventually, a crashed bike at the end of them. You all come to a stop and Jade turns to look back at all of you, her helmet still missing because Clarke took her helmet with her. “Keep your helmets on and your guns ready, these are the enemy's woods.”
All of you nod and dismount, following her as she jogs over to the bike and places a hand of the metal. “The engine's still warm, she can't be far.”
Jade leads the way through the woods, all of you spreading out to search for Clarke. After a few minutes of searching, one of the other guards calls out, “Over here, I found something!”
You tense up, growing worried as all run over to her, eyes landing on a hatch, hidden beneath a wall of leaves. Your mind flashes to the map of Sanctum that Bellamy showed you and Murphy, remembering the small buildings drawn on the paper, marking the research posts in the area. You think Bellamy is remembering them too, because his hand is hovering near his gun, prepared to take out everyone if Clarke is inside. Your hand does the same, hovering near your weapon, but the need to use it never comes. The hatch is pulled open and it’s empty, nothing inside but dust, vines, and old books. Jade turns to look at all of you, a fire lit within her. “Look for more outposts!”
Everyone splits apart and begins to search, and you and Bellamy keep enough distance to look like you’re playing along, but you stay close enough that you can help each other if necessary. Because you both have vague memories of the location of the research hatches, you and Bellamy find them first, peeking inside and searching for Clarke before you call out to the others to take a look. You search for hours, until the suns set in the sky, and even then, you keep searching. You find a few more hatches as the hours pass, all of them empty, and you start to wonder how you and Bellamy are going to get out of this situation if you can't find Clarke soon. Luckily for you, the Universe offers you a gift.
One of the other guards yells, “Hey! Over here, I found another hatch.”
You all rush towards him, pulling the hatch open with another wave of disappointment, this one just as empty as the others. But as he closes the door back and you all start to split up again, a voice floats through the woods, heading straight for you. “Help! I'm here!”
You turn towards Bellamy, both of you recognizing the voice, and you take off running towards it, the other guards following closely behind you. All of you pull out your weapons as you draw closer, your eyes landing on Clarke, flanked by two people. One is a man that you don't know, the other, much to your surprise, is Octavia. Luckily, with your helmets still on your heads, you and Bellamy are able to hide your shock of seeing the other Blake, though you can sense it rolling off of him in waves. You all come to a stop in front of the trio, weapons pointed their way, and Jade yells, “On your knees! Octavia, drop your weapon!”
The other two guards rush towards Octavia, and one of them grabs her while the other points their weapon at her. You and Bellamy aim at the unknown man, but you’re both closely watching Octavia, who drops her sword and holds her hands up in surrender. The man looks to Jade, his expression pleading, “Listen to me, she needs medical attention. If I don't operate soon, she'll die.”
Fear washes over you, as you peer at your twin, afraid that you won't have enough time, and you’ll soon lose her forever. The guard holding Octavia turns to the man and snaps, “Take your hands off her, cog.”
You pull a face beneath your helmet, the unoriginal nickname almost making you laugh, but all of your amusement washes away when Clarke opens her mouth. “Okay, enough talk. Kill the girl, take Gabriel prisoner, and get me home.”
The sentence hits your hard, the Josephine tone of voice back. And if that wasn't enough to clue you in, the fact that she referred to Octavia as ‘the girl’ and the man as Gabriel is enough to convince you. Gabriel? Your mind starts running a million miles a minute as you all turn to look at the man, clearly not the old man that Josephine warned you about.
“Gabriel?” Everyone starts moving at once, and Jade makes a beeline for Josephine, pulling her out of Gabriel’s grip and starting to walk away with her. The other two guards split apart, one of them coming to stand behind Gabriel and one of them pointing their gun at Octavia, and Bellamy nudges you slightly, letting you know that now is the time to act. The two of you work in tandem, and he takes the guard on the left and you take the one on the right. One of them starts to yell, “For the glory and grace-”
But her words are cut off by you sending a bullet into her chest as Bellamy takes out the man threatening Gabriel, both of the guards falling to the ground. You both turn on Jade, leveling your weapons on her, and she releases Josephine and slowly removes her gun, tossing it away. You and Bellamy tug your helmets off, and Octavia whispers both of your names in shock, not expecting either of you to be the ones to save her. Josephine rolls her eyes, muttering, “Because of course it is.”
Octavia rushes towards her brother, wrapping her arms around him, laughing with shock and relief, and he awkwardly pats her back with his free hand, still struggling with his feelings towards his sister. You turn away from the exchange to glance at Gabriel, who is watching all of you in confusion. “Take her.”
He nods, walking to his former lover that is trapped in your twin’s body, and he wraps his arms around her. As he does, she collapses a little, her voice sounding small and scared, “I can't feel my legs.”
Gabriel looks to you and Bellamy, as he scoops her up into his arms, already backing away, “We have to hurry, come on.”
“Right behind you!” You swing your gaze back towards Jade, who watches Josephine leave with a look of anger. Your anger, however, is stronger, and you sneer at her, “Go back to Sanctum. You tell Russell that if he hurts any of our people, he'll never see his daughter again.”
She looks at you, still angry, still deciding if she can take you, before moving her gaze to the place she last saw Josephine. Bellamy looks at her, just as angry, and pulls her out of her head by yelling, “Go!”
She turns and runs off, and you watch her until she disappears into the trees, leaving you alone with the Blake siblings. As soon as it’s clear, you turn to Octavia with a smile. “Now what the hell are you doing here?”
“I should be asking you the same thing.” She smiles back at you, happy to have a warm welcome from one of you, and the two of you briefly hug before you pull away and nod to Gabriel’s retreating figure. “C’mon, let's go save my dying twin.”
The Blake’s both nod and jog off, and you follow Octavia back to the camp, since she obviously knows where it is. As you run up on the camp, you see a large sculpture made of radios, some of them repeating lines over and over, all of them playing over each other, and suddenly Josephine's comment in the cave makes a lot more sense. For one, there’s not enough time to worry about that, because your concern is for your twin.
When you get inside the tent, you see that Josephine is already laying out on a surgical chair, hooked up to a variety of monitors, a brain monitor chief among them. You and Bellamy quickly strip off the top layer of your Sanctum uniforms, leaving you in matching black long sleeve shirts and matching black pants. All three of you settle around Josephine, her body shaking as she nears the end, before you shift your gaze to the monitor that Gabriel reaches up to point at. “Two wavelengths, one brain.”
He looks away from the machine and down to Josephine, his expression curious. “You mind telling me how Clarke's consciousness survived?”
“There's a neural mesh in her head.” You and Bellamy exchange a look, your theory correct. “Her mind latched onto it during the procedure. It's pretty cool, huh?”
You look down at Josephine anxiously, ready to save your twin inside. “What can we do?”
Gabriel looks at you, turning to grab a few tools, “Once I remove her drive, I'll need you to quickly bandage the wound before I restart her heart.”
You give him a surprised look, the worry creeping up in your voice. “You're stopping her heart?”
“Death causes her mind to back up onto the drive. I take it out, then start her heart.”
“And then we get Clarke back?”
Gabriel nods, and you feel a touch of relief that soon this will be over, soon Clarke will be saved. Josephine shifts in the seat and turns to look over at you and Bellamy with something akin to admiration. “She was right to depend on the two of you. Believe it or not, we're actually friends.”
You snort, “We'll see about that if you ever meet in the real world.”
“Real world?”
Gabriel freezes, and you all look at him in confusion as Bellamy nods and clarifies, “Yeah. After we use her mind drive to bargain for peace.”
Octavia speaks up for the first time, clearly noticing something in his tense stance. “What's wrong?”
He doesn't answer, but Josephine answers for him. “He knows that means I'll be resurrected again, and he's not sure if he can let them take another innocent life.”
Gabriel walks back over to her side, a syringe now held in his hand. As he starts to slowly lower it to her arm, reminding you of the time you spent in Becca’s lab, Josephine reaches out and grabs his arm, stopping him. “Aye, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come? But I guess that was okay for you, huh, old man?”
Gabriel’s face gets hard with hidden emotions and haunted memories. “No. It wasn't.”
“You know that there's another way. If you let me keep this body, nobody else has to die.”
“For you to keep that body, someone does have to die. Clarke. Now, no more talking.” You glare at Josephine, the option not an option at all, because Josephine keeping Clarke’s body means that Clarke will be gone to you forever. You shift your gaze up to Gabriel, “Do it.”
Josephine locks her eyes on her lover, making one last ditch effort to keep Clarke’s body. “I know that I've done bad things. I don't remember them all, but I do know that you hate me for it.”
Gabriel’s voice is soft and full of love, and in any other situation, you’d feel bad for the doomed couple. “I could never hate you.”
“I know it. We can still be together, my love. We can take out the drives just like you wanted.” Bellamy and Octavia both turn away from them, annoyance apparent in both of their expressions, but you keep your eyes locked on them, hand hovering near your knife, prepared to intervene if you have to. “We can grow old together.”
Tears well up in Gabriel’s eyes, clearly feeling the impact of Josephine’s words. “I've loved you for centuries.”
She smiles and nods, thinking that he’s coming around, but he surprises all of you by answering, “We had our time, I have to let you go now.”
And before she can object, he injects her with the liquid from the syringe. You watch her expression morph into shock before it drops, and her eyes slowly flutter closed until you hear the heart rate monitor flatline, letting all of you know that Clarke’s heart is no longer beating. Gabriel leans down and whispers, “La muerte es la vida.”
You don't have time to ask him for the meaning of the words, because he immediately pulls away and gathers his tools, coming back to Clarke’s side to finish the process. “Help me turn her over.”
You and Bellamy reach out and help lift Clarke, and you hold her hair out of the way as Gabriel quickly removes the mind drive from her head. He hands you a wad of cotton squares to hold against the wound, before he turns away with the mind drive, saying, “Cover the wound, we need to restart her heart.”
You press the cotton squares to the incision on the back of her neck before you roll her back over with Bellamy’s assistance. Gabriel prepares a new syringe, this one much larger than the last, and then he quickly pushes it into Clarke’s chest and empties the syringe of fluid into her body. You all watch Clarke with bated breath, her revival supposed to be instant, but she lays completely still, eyes still closed. The flatline warning on the machine continues beeping, and you feel anxiety prickle across your skin as you look at Gabriel in alarm. “Why isn’t she waking up?”
Gabriel turns to the screen monitoring the wavelengths in her head, and two lines are still etched across it, both Josephine and Clarke still inside Clarke’s mind. Meaning that Josephine isn’t in the drive, she’s in Clarke’s head. Meaning that the battle for Clarke’s body isn’t over yet, and Josephine is still inside, vying for control. You look at Gabriel in alarm, wondering what he’s going to do, how he’s going to save Clarke, but he just gives you a sympathetic look. “I'm sorry, but her brain can no longer support two minds.”
You feel anger rise up, “What are you talking about?”
Octavia does too, because she looks to the screen and then glares at Gabriel. “Do something! They're both still in there.”
“Latent neural activity continues for a short time after death, but once the head stops working with the heart, it's over. The two organs are stronger together, and without them working together, it’s over, okay?”
Your eyes go wide as you process his words, one phrase sticking out to you the entire time. Stronger together.  You look at Bellamy, whispering the words to him, “Stronger together.”
And then you nudge him out of the way so you can start CPR, pressing on Clarke’s chest in a steady rhythm, before lowering yourself to her mouth and filling her lungs with air. You repeat the process, pushing down on her chest, tears springing to your eyes with each passing second as you realize you’re getting closer and closer to her eventual death with the passing of time. You hear Octavia call your name, but you cut her off, voice rising with desperation. “No! I’m not losing her again!”
You ignore the others around you, continuing your desperate CPR, talking to Clarke the entire time you move, “Come on! Clarke, I need you. Madi needs you. Mom needs you. Now wake up! I should have fought harder for you, Clarke. I should have burned Sanctum to the ground and killed everyone that got in my way, but I’m fighting for you now, god damn it!”
Octavia puts her hand on your arm, trying to stop you. “La lune, she's gone.”
“No, she's not!” You turn to Bellamy, tears falling down your face now, giving your fiance a heartbroken look, the reality of your loss starting again. For the second time in the last few days, you are faced with the possibility that your twin is gone, and you’re not sure your heart can take it again. You aren’t sure you can face that heartbreak again. You stare at Bellamy, your voice a broken whisper, “She can’t be gone.”
He sees the heartbreak on your face, knows the pain you went through days ago when you thought she was dead, and remembers the pain he felt too. He stands at your side, turning to face your twin, his approach just as desperate as yours. He brings his fist down onto Clarke’s chest in hard, heavy beats, trying to forcefully restart her heart. “Wake up, Clarke! We’re not letting you go. You're a fighter, now get up and fight!”
You see his desperation reaching a peak, his voice starting to crack with heartbreak, and he hits her one last time, one solid blow to her chest as he practically yells, “Get up and fight!”
Clarke takes in a loud, wheezing breath, her eyes flying open to look around in a panic. You feel a rush of relief as you lower yourself to her, helping her sit up as you whisper, “You’re okay, shining star, just breathe.”
Behind her, the heart rate monitor consistently beeps, confirming that the organ in her chest is steadily beating, and she looks at you with a confused expression. You meet her eyes, looking into the face of the girl that has been your other half since birth, and you whisper, “Clarke?”
She nods slightly, before jumping towards you slightly, wrapping her arms tightly around you. You start to cry, big, fat tears of relief rolling down your face, and Clarke tucks her head into the crook of your neck, whispering, “Stronger together.”
Your tears start to flow harder, reminding you how much of your strength truly comes from your twin, and how broken you felt living in a world temporarily without her. But all of that is over now. Because now, your twin is held tight in your arms, her left hand reaching out to take Bellamy’s hand, squeezing it in thanks. Octavia watches your trio with a smile, relief evident on her features. Only one person in the room is mourning, and that’s Gabriel, his eyes locked solely on the brainwave monitor beside him, only one wavelength on display.
Josephine is gone, dead to the world, dead to history, and Clarke Griffin is back and better than ever.

I Won’t Forget You - Spencer Reid x Reader
Masterlist
Part 3
Part 4
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader
Warnings: Talk of blood, murder, Criminal minds stuff.

~~~~~~~~~~
"So what did you find?" Hotch asks, gathering a few pieces of evidence from the table and handing them to Reid to pin onto the bulletin.
"Each of the victims has a needle mark behind their ear, or in the general vicinity. That means our unsub is using sugammadex, more commonly known as Bridion, or some other form of the drug to paralyze them temporarily. Long enough to keep them subdued and do what she intended without them fighting her." Spencer answered for you, turning around after he finished the last bit of pinning the evidence.
"Great work. Reid, get started on that geographical profile while we wait on the others. We may be able to finish this case sooner if we find a little more evidence." Hotch informed as he began to walk out of the room.
Then you remembered the other bit of information. In an attempt to not make a fool out of yourself on your first case, you rushed towards Hotch's moving form and tapped him on the shoulder.
"I-If I may, Hotch, I think our unsub is trying to get back at a specific person. One with short brown hair. Almost military grade." Rushed, you backed away from Hotch a little, giving him back the space you'd just invaded.
Hotch turned around questioningly, nodding to you as an encouragement to continue. "What makes you think that?" He asks.
"Well sir, if you'll look at the second victim, Harrison Graham, you'll see he had long, medium-length hair, correct?" You walk over to Spencer’s evidence board and point out the man's picture.
"His body was found with a buzzed haircut. The ones they give to cadets in the military." You conclude. "I think our unsub lost their partner, or their partner left them alone with a newborn. Which would explain the feedings without a bottle. And this partner is military."
"I didn't even think of that. H-he had a few tattoos as well. Though they were mostly dates, one was the date his daughter was born, and he had another for when he was married." Spencer cut in, finding his own conclusion of the case.
"See if Garcia can find any recently discharged soldiers. Or soldiers who've died in the last three months. We need to be cautious that this man may be dead, and that was the stressor." Hotch orders, nodding to you again. "Keep up the good work."
You nodded back to him and watched him leave, most likely to share the news with the rest of the team.
"How did you know it was military?"
"Hm?" You prompted, looking to Spencer to answer his question. "Oh, uh my friend Gabriel's brothers are military. I used to see them all the time. His brother Raphael never got rid of the cadet hairstyle." You laugh a little, bringing a hand to your face.
Spencer nodded slightly, turning his head back to the evidence board. But truly? He couldn't keep his eyes off of you. Your laughter was infectious. He didn't know why but he wanted to laugh along. You were beautiful, and he wanted to get a better look.
"Do we have places to stay set up?" He asks again after a moment.
"Why are you asking me?" You ask, laughing softly as he turned his attention back to you.
"Well you were the one so eager to leave and get started. We never got the full briefing." Spencer gave you one of his smart-assed smiles and you groaned.
"Shut up. You know why I wanted to leave so bad." You insist, looking over the map that was untouched so far by pins. "I trusted you." You turned back, giving Spencer a teasing and fake offended look. He chuckled and rolled his eyes, walking over to you.
"Yeah you did. That wasn't a mistake, by the way." He says, making you jump slightly when you feel his breath near your terribly sensitive ears. You feel your body tremble at his now very obvious location.
"O-oh, it wasn't now?" You teased, cursing your nerves silently for your unplanned stutter. Spencer chuckled, and his hand covered the one of your own that had picked up one of the pins.
He didn't speak for a long, and agonizingly drawn out moment. He blinked slowly, laying a hand scarcely on your waist. You felt like shrinking where you stood. What was he doing?
You turned your body and faced the man who currently had your body trapped against a pinnable crime map. His eyes looked over your body, and you could swear he was undressing you with his eyes. You gulped, trying to formulate some sort of response. But what would even fit into the conversation that wouldn't cut the tension so harshly? Hardly anything. At least nothing you could think of.
Finally, as you prepared to try to say something to get an answer out of him, he spoke.
"I believe you're doing my job." He says just audibly for you to hear him. You blink a few times and make multiple attempts to clear your throat. You nod and get out from underneath the tall man's figure.
"R-right, y-yeah, sorry. I should-" you begin to ramble, knowing your cheeks were more red than an apple. You'd have to head off to the bathroom to calm down before you'd be able to face anyone. Morgan would probably tease you.
"I should p-probably go see if I c-can help Prentiss. After all she is the agent I'm shadowing." You say as soon as you were able to get your bearings.
Spencer nodded, having put both his hands into his pockets. But the way he had touched you had made you wonder what it was like for him to really touch you. To hug you, keep a protective arm around your waist, to hold your hand…
"Y-yeah, yeah. Definitely." He says. You nod at him, standing in front of him without moving. After a few more awkward seconds that felt like minutes, you turned your head and promptly left the room.
As soon as the door closed behind you, you felt a rush of adrenaline crash from your senses, making you feel suddenly relieved and unweighted. Although your heart was still pumping faster than a factory machine.
What was this man doing to you?
○●♡●○
You finally had made it into the bathroom, having needed a couple minutes to stand around like a dork and reevaluate what the hell were your feelings.
You hurried to the sink and turned on the cold water, splashing some onto your face. You did this repeatedly until you let out an uncomfortable groan and braced yourself against the sink with your arms.
You sigh and squeeze your eyes shut, trying to calm down whatever was going on in your heart. You tried to focus on it, get the rapid beating and deafening ringing in your ears to cease.
Apparently you were a little too focused, as when you opened your eyes from your little impromptu breakdown, you find yourself not as alone as you had wanted to be.
"...you okay?" Prentiss asked, giving you an uneasy and questioning look. You sigh and turn the water off, running a tired hand through your hair.
"Yeah… yeah I'm fine. Just dealing with one of the headaches that my disorder gives me. They get pretty bad." It was only half a lie. But still, she was a damn profiler. The same as you. She could probably tell something else was up.
"That must suck. I used to get them all the time. Used to get so bad I couldn't focus." She admits, rubbing her neck and chuckling. You were thankful that she didn't press any further. It was totally plausible that she believed you. Hey, if Prentiss bought it, then that was good enough for you.
"Yeah, you kinda get used to it. I find distraction, especially when I'm just doing class work or studying usually helps." You add, feeling your heart find a slow, happy pace that both your mind and your body could manage.
Prentiss nodded as you both grew quiet from your short-lived conversation. Then, as you knew would eventually come up, she spoke.
"So… you sure you're okay? Your cheeks are pretty red. You aren't sick, are you? If you are, don't tell Reid. He'll avoid you like the plague for a week." Emily warned.
"Duly noted…" you whispered softly. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Promise." You insist, hoping that your blush was quickly fading.
"Alright. Well, we're all a family here on our team. And if you're going to be staying, you'll wanna get used to people getting up in your business." She teases. You smile gently back at her.
"Oh I know. It's just first case jitters and stuff. I'm okay. I just embarrassed myself a little, that's all." You lied, glad to see that Prentiss was so willing to back off as soon as she read the room.
"Oh I know that. Just let me know if you need anything. I'm just one door down the hall. At least for this case." You nodded and smiled a bit more warmly.
"Speaking of which, where exactly are we staying? I didn't really stick around to get that information." You admit.
"Yeah you didn't...uh just the hotel down the road, closest to the last crime scene." Prentiss affirms, handing you a key card.
You take it earnestly and pocket it. "Thank you, Emily. Really. Means a lot somebody's got my back."
"Of course. In more ways than one. Though I hope we'll be on a first name basis soon." Emily teased. You chuckle and shake your head.
"I don't just give it out to anyone, Prentiss. But, I promise it'll be soon. As long as I know for sure this is where I wanna be." You rationalize. It was totally believable and not what you really were doing. Trust was something not a lot of people really understood anymore.
"Sounds fair to me. I hope this is the place for you though. If you stay Hotch could sign you onto the team as soon as your application goes through."
"Really?"
"Yeah, that's what he did when I arrived. After he read over my application he signed me off to join the team over the rest of the candidates. Good luck." Prentiss says, giving you a quick and final reassuring look before she heads to the door. "You'll do great."
And as soon as you had realized you weren't alone, you were. You sighed and smoothed out your blazer and checked your face for any more signs of your previous interaction with Doctor Reid. Once you were sure you were clear, you turned around and exited the bathroom, finding it to have grown dark.
You grab your bag and sling it over your arm, getting ready to head out as you spot Hotch hurrying from the glass box-like office the map and evidence board was.
"What's going on?" You ask, setting your bag down again.
"There's another body." He alerts, soon exiting the station and leaving you to do so soon after.
○●♡●○
"Zachary Small, he'd just had twins with his wife, Tanya." The chief identified, leading the team towards the body. You grabbed a flashlight from the SUV and shined it over the body as there were no overhead lights.
Hotch pulled one out himself, looking over the wounds that he could see. "Reid, any needle marks?" He asks.
Reid walked around and turned Zachary's head, feeling for a needle track. "Yeah, same place as the last three."
"It looks like his hair was cut too. Based on the photo the station has of him." You interject.
Morgan raised an eyebrow. "How'd you get a photo of him so quick?" He asked.
"Hotch asked Garcia to run for military men. Ones in the town who were either married, recently deployed in the last three months, killed in that same time frame, and recently became fathers. He was one of the men that came up." You explained. Morgan shrugged and pulled back the man's torn shirt.
"Hey, do all the victims have tattoos like this?" Morgan asked.
"No, they were all from different walks of life. I think she's escalating." JJ alerts. Hotch nods.
"If this unsub is murdering surrogates for an absent partner, we can only assume he is alive. We need to find her before he is put in danger. She's getting bolder." Hotch says.
"Any luck on the geographical location, Reid?" Morgan asked.
"Only slightly. I think with this body the comfort zone is within ten miles from here. This city isn't huge, but I think we can still narrow down people in that area of low income." Reid answers.
"Why is that?" Morgan asked.
"Because these drugs aren't cheap. They're not even pharmaceuticals. They're used in hospitals for sedation. We're looking for someone who works in some sort of medical facility." Reid concludes, pulling off his gloves as he gets ready to head back to the station.
"I'll call Garcia." Morgan announces.
You sigh and turn back towards Reid, who was already walking away from you. You were going to have to talk with him about what the hell happened back in the station. But then again, what if you had interpreted it to be something completely different than what he had implied it to be? You were new. You hadn't even been on the job for any more than 18 hours at this point. There was no way he meant any sort of intimacy out of that interaction. Was there?
You shook your head. Now was not the time to question whether or not your new coworker had the hots for you based on one measly interaction. You had a serial killer to apprehend.
"Hey, Mystery Girl, come over here a sec."
You raised an eyebrow and turned to see Morgan waving you over.
"Yeah? You guys need something?" You ask.
"Yeah, you think you could ask Pretty Boy out and save us all the suffering of having to watch you two eye-fuck?" Morgan grinned. You widened your eyes and blushed heavily.
"M-morgan!" You glared at him, your mouth agape in surprise. "Don't tell me you three are in on his little idea!" You insist, looking between Rossi, JJ, and Prentiss who all stood in front of you.
Suddenly an arm wrapped around your shoulder and pulled you closer. You growled and looked up at the offender, who currently looked back down at you with a teasing look.
"Come on, Ms. No-name. You can't act like we don't see it. I saw you comin' out of that bathroom after Prentiss did. Boy did you look like a strawberry." Morgan teased, winking at you.
"I don't know what you're insinuating, but I do not like him l-like that. It's not very nice to assume things, Morgan." You insist, huffing as you pushed him off.
"Come on, mama. We're both profilers. You really think I'd be wrong about this kind of thing?" He asked, his eyebrows cocked in a teasing position.
"Do you really think I'd admit it if you were right?" You fire back, letting out an annoyed sigh and storming back to the group of parked SUV's to head back to the station.
○●♡●○
You felt like you haven't slept for days. And truthfully, you hadn't. You had all hit a rut in the case. There were too many suspects and not enough time to interview them all. That and all the information wasn't alluding to anything. It was frustrating.
Not to mention the teasing everyone just HAD to do to you every time a certain Doctor left the room. It was getting on your nerves and quite frankly, it was messing with your ability to work through the information of this case.
You had all given the profile, but no one had called in yet. Garcia was still giving the profile to the medical facilities near the geographical location that Spencer had put together, but nothing was sticking just yet.
"This is confusing…" you huffed, setting the tablet down as you tried to look over all the data again. Thankfully this unsub hadn't gone after another victim yet, that you knew of. But unfortunately that also meant you were stuck unless someone was willing to call and say that their family member fit the profile. Which no one ever was. And they didn't have any leads whatsoever.
"What do you mean?" Reid asked, turning his attention to you after having stared at the map for the past hour with nothing to pin onto it.
"How does this profile not fit anyone? I mean, we talked to the families, asked if they knew any new women who their husbands or partners had in their lives, any old ones. And we even asked the facilities. Nothing. Of course we got a list of names, but it's not short enough to narrow down." You sigh, rubbing your face.
"We might need some fresh eyes." Spencer ponders. You feel your eyelids slowly collapsing, making you pry them back open. Spencer turns as he went to ask you something else. "And some coffee."
You raise your eyebrow and give him a confused look. "Coffee? How is that going to help?" You asked.
"It'll keep us both awake, for one. Mostly you though. What with the three all-nighters you had." He reveals. You widen your eyes and blush. Of course he'd noticed. He was one of the last people to even try to get any rest each night the past couple days. Besides Hotch obviously.
"It…" you sigh. "It's not that bad. I'll sleep on the jet ride back-" you plead, soon to be interrupted by a yawn. When you open your exhausted eyes you're met with a playful pair of amber ones that were connected to a teasing smirk on the Doctor's face.
"I think your body decided that for you. You're body needs approximately 8 to 9 hours a night for your age. Any lack of sleep can lead to sleep deprivation. And that can cause irritability, mood swings, and can deplete your quality of life." He informs, beginning to fill up the coffee pot with water and filling up the machine.
"Yeah yeah. Says the 30 year old doctor." You tease, sending a playful glare towards him.
"Says the 25 year old graduate." He shoots back, smirking at you as he turns around and leans against the counter. "Still, you need to sleep. Even if it's a small amount it can help to recharge your body. Did you know that with enough exhaustion our body has microsleeps? It happens often between blinks and is the body's attempt at charging."
You smile and turn your head to look at him. "Do tell me more, Doctor." You reply groggily, laughing a little at your tone. He smiles at you and chuckles, turning back around to pour you a cup of the newly brewed coffee.
"The reason caffeine helps the body stay awake longer is that it inhibits the body's receptors, and makes us feel more awake for longer than we would without. However caffeine has different effects for different people. As you age, it actually has been proven to make you more tired than you were before you drank it." Spencer continued, carrying over two cups. "How do you take yours?" He asks.
"Hm? Oh, well…" you blush. "I usually just take it with a little cream when I'm trying to stay awake. But my morning stuff is totally different." You say, chuckling as you take the cup from him with a slight nod of thanks.
"How do you take it in the morning?"
You smirk. "I guess you'll just have to find out, Doctor." You tease. "Why don't you and I get some coffee when we get back? We can get some for everyone else too if you want." You offer. You were wary that Spencer might've rejected you if it sounded like a date. So you panicked and added the last sentence soon after.
Thankfully though, a smile pulled onto his face and he nodded. "Sounds good to me."
You smile back at him, finding yourself staring for a few moments. You cleared your throat and looked down a bit in embarrassment.
"I uh… wait…" you paused.
"What?" He asked.
"We kept saying that this unsub couldn't be of the lower class, right?" You asked, standing up and walking toward the map Spencer had recently left to get you your coffee.
"Right." Spencer clarified.
"But what if our unsub is working for an urgent care or-or a long term care facility? Where you only have to get a short period of training done to work there? The pay wouldn't be as good, but it could get our unsub what she needs all the same-" you realize, gasping slightly. You turned back around and faced the map, grabbing a pin as you looked over the neighborhoods in the area Reid had circled.
"Here! There's a low-income neighborhood right around here. It's not any farther than 2 miles from a nearby urgent care. We should cross-reference the residencies with the suspects and see if they live here." You insist, grabbing your phone to call Garcia. Spencer smiled at you and nodded, standing up to alert the rest of the team. Maybe this case wasn't going to be a bust after all.
Marinette did not sign up for this part 6
this part was broken in two for my sanity.
first part here previous part here ao3 here
--
Bruce is many things, including Batman. He is currently trying to figure out how to launch a search party for his daughter’s missing magic jewelry and to find the thieves. (god, he hasn’t even met her yet and she has so many problems. She needs him there already and he isn’t). He is a father to many children who are currently searching for her, and who only just thought to inform him of this fact. On top of that, he is Batman—Justice League, cases, and keeping up his aliases on top of managing his possibly injured son.
What he is not expecting is a call from Hal when he is mid-way through a case while keeping Red Hood down. He is not expecting for Oracle to patch him through, nor is he expecting it to include Diana and Arthur—granted they all know each other’s identities at this point, but still. He would like to be uniform when his allies call him for work. Instead, he’s in civvies, in Jason’s room on his laptop keeping his son in place by sitting at the foot of his bed and shooting him looks on occasion. The only mercy was it being audio only.
“Batman we need to have a talk,” Hal stated.
Jason decided to make a break for it while Bruce was distracted. Bruce tackled his son and dragged him back to bed. “Little busy. Someone with Pegasus’ abilities dropped Hood into the harbor and he’s on bedrest.”
“I object to this treatment! I’m fine!”
“Not until Agent A clears you.”
“Fuck you B.”
“Hood.”
Jason stuck out his tongue and relented for the moment.
“So you’re aware he pulled a gun on a kid?”
Bruce choked at that.
Jason sat up. “First of all, dart gun with knock outs thank you very much, second of all, kid clearly stole Ladybug’s whatever that lets her transform, same with the girl using the cat that clearly has a lot of anxiety and definitely should not be in the field if she’s hyperventilating!”
Bruce could feel Diana being held back by someone. Possibly Hal’s ring, or Arthur.
“That was a teammate certified by the Ladybug and Chat Noir as allowed to use their miraculous given that Ladybug was needed on another mission at the time. Mr. Bug has appeared once before when Ladybug was unable to appear, and Chatte Noire is usually for solo stealth missions but was called to handle this particular akuma.” Arthur explained. “Your son attacked Ladybug’s team and has only made them all more unwilling to allow any contact after Sandboy.”
Bruce froze. His daughter needs help, and is denying the league the right to after Jason’s (well-intentioned) actions.
“Are they—”
“Ladybug has stated that the League may not approach her team during patrol, which was our main contact point. Miss Sting has become their representative for any and all contact, save one Amazonian historian,” Diana hissed. “She is convinced your whole family is trying to kill her now. You are to keep your house out of Paris until this is handled—if it wasn’t for the team being convinced that Red Hood was one of Sandboy’s creations, we would not be allowed to contact her at all!”
Bruce froze. His daughter is terrified of his family—of her family. She thinks they are out to kill her. He need to have a family meeting, now.
“I’ll check their locations and bring them back.”
“You better!”
“It is not wise to anger the Savior and Destroyer, so do so as quickly as possible,” Arthur stressed.
“Seriously Bats, get your house in order.”
“Hey, he’s not in charge of us anymore,” Jason tried to defend, only his voice wasn’t all there. “We’re our own people here. He just makes sure we don’t bleed out at this point.”
“Might want to work on that too.” Bruce wasn’t focusing enough to tell which of them said that.
Jason was shockingly quiet after that, typing absently on his phone.
Bruce needed to fix this. He turned on his kids trackers, only to find they were already in Paris, or… moving toward it. And comms were down.
“Oracle, report.”
“Sorry B, but I think they found her and we may have pinned down Hawkmoth.”
Bruce wanted to scream. He didn’t. “Report the identity to the League and leave Paris, now.”
“… Tim isn’t responding, Cass has plans with a family, and Steph is part of those, so you’re going to have to wait a day or so.”
Jason typed harder, but said nothing. Bruce could feel the self-recrimination and knew better than to intervene just yet. When he put down the phone (and when Bruce finished his own investigation on this matter) they would talk. For now, he had to wait.
             ---
Nino is a lot of things. Amazing director (albeit a tyrant as one), a top notch dj, and a superhero. He is also smart, charming, and very good at reading people and knowing when something is up. Perks of being Carapace and having Wayzz all the time—people’s weaknesses are a lot easier to spot now, and any fronts they try to put up, he already sees right through them. Especially when its someone he’s known forever.
Marinette has been on edge, around the same time as Ladybug started acting up. Granted, finding out she has a pen knife last year by her accidently using it to draw in class that one time did give him a wakeup call on Marinette having a paranoia streak on top of her anxiety, but usually the girl calmed down during school or when she was designing during breaks.
This time, that wasn’t happening. He’s… not sure how to get her to open up on this one. Looking over her shoulder and the constant twitching meant she was probably hit hard by Sandboy last night, and hadn’t recovered yet. He really wished he got a few hits in himself on the akuma—it always messed up everyone afterwards. And Marinette didn’t need the extra stress with her new designs for the Worst Father Ever’s company and tests that week.
And yet here they are, with her on edge. Most of the class was hit, and no one was at a hundred percent and all, he got that but…
“Sandboy?” Nino started, hoping it was casual enough that Marinette didn’t catch how frustrated he was with all of this. Ladybug was missing last night so Mr. Bug was there, Chatte was filling in for Chat and had an anxiety attack, the battle took way too long and it was so painfully clear that Chatte isn’t a hitter and that Mr. Bug is no strategist. Viperion stepped into that role with ease when he managed to get there, but still. The whole situation was messed up and he couldn’t fix it. Even when its hurting his friends.
Marinette let out a shaky breath. “Yeah.”
“Wanna talk about it or…”
“NO! I—I never wanted to, I…” Marinette was at a loss for words again, tugging at her hair.
“Its okay dudette.” He made sure to take her hands out of her hair before she knotted it like she did when they were kids. She hated getting them out after, always cried a bit from how much it hurt with how big her knots would get and how uncooperative they were. “That bad?”
Marinette nodded, curled in a bit. “I never want it to happen for real.”
Nino wasn’t sure what ‘it’ was, but it couldn’t be good. He know how bad some of Sandboy’s nightmares were—getting chased by his own fear of absolute failure being voiced by his idols still stung to this day.
“Hey, if it tries to, you got us—me, my bro, your bestie and let’s not forget Miss “I am the storm” will be there.”
“And Kagami!” Alya added with a grin as she came over with his bro. “She’s already claimed the right to destroy anyone that hurts you.”
Adrien’s grin may as well have split his face. “She has, hasn’t she.”
Marinette turned to fight with Adrien, as something was going on between those two, Adrien clearly had an idea what it was, but given the whole thing with Luka’s fans getting on her back about using him to get famous and the fall out…
Nino shook his head to banish that particular akuma—fans are the worst kind of akuma. Love akuma are really annoying in their abilities, but he can defend against all of their power-sets so far. Fan akumas are always wildcards and he’s usually not the most helpful against them.
He hopes he can keep Ladybug and Marinette safe. His job is to defend and shelter—in and out of the mask. That’s what he’s decided to do, at least.
“Aw, look at them. Now if only they were like this back when operations secret garden was a go.”
Nino raised an eyebrow.
“Nothing you need to worry about, before we got together.”
“Uh huh.” Nino could and would worry about it. Was that a ‘get them together’ operation or a ‘teach Adrien and Marinette how to be people and no run from the sight of each other’ operation?  First year ops outside of the mask were weird and he wasn’t in on them until a few months after he and Alya finally got together (at his best bro and favorite dudette’s brand of meddling).
--
Adrien is glad for many things since getting the ring. One of them is his partner and after finding out who she was (post-‘oh my god she hates me as a civilian’ episode), her brand of scheming. Which included (after he got her to conceded that his father may be bad but he is not Hawkmoth level bad) her managing to end up as his Father’s current ‘mentee’ of choice after she won the hat competition, and he showed off the scarf she made him last year. Gabriel had a rule of not working with designers that hadn’t made a name for themselves already—Marinette had by the time she was fourteen as MDC—Jagged Stone and Clara Nightengale’s joint-custody personal designers.
Father only found out MDC was Marinette from the scarf. He’d met Clara again at an event and she had the same style of embroidery and threading. Only it was after Adrien got his scarf.
Marinette plotted this--down to the fashion week event and Clara going to talk to Gabriel about his opinion on the work done to her scarf and how long he thought it would take MDC to make the same thing on a dress, roughly, since the designer does the embroidery by hand instead of letting Clara’s seamstress handle it given the intricate lace-like pattern.
Gabriel had called Marinette on the landline—the landline—that night and offered to mentor her on how to broaden her work for the masses, without taking away from her school and downtime, or interfering with MDC’s work.
So far, Marinette has gathered them a pool of seventy two people, name and contact information, that Markov, Max and Alya are co-investigating as Hawkmoth.
The trade off to all of that is “Marinette” brand consultation under the Gabriel brand, a studio with walk-in and appointed consultations, and being there on time.
Adrien managed to get them there a half hour early, and she still wasn’t relaxed. The unofficial appointment is in twenty minutes, and Marinette is shaken from Sandboy, but doesn’t want to talk about anything Miraculous, and he hasn’t had time for videogames lately, so. Distraction time.
“How did you get into fashion again?” Adrien toyed with his phone, knowing damn well how she ended up this far into fashion, but he did love watching her get worked up and go off.
“First of all, this industry doesn’t make anything for you if you’re short that  isn’t petite, and that’s a nightmare to look for as a kid. Then there was Maman having trouble finding things that fit her nicely and from there looking for women’s or girls clothes is just disappointment after disappointment.”
“How so?” Adrien hid his grin behind his phone.
“How—how so! Your father keeps wanting me to keep pockets out of designs because real pockets aren’t ‘in’ for women’s fashion. Lies! They are always in, women always want pockets and real pockets! Pockets are wonderful and the deeper the better.”
“Mh hm.” Adrien knew that from previous rant sessions.
“Then there’s the whole lack of body types and fits and don’t get me started on every white shirt being seem through, or a button up that doesn’t button right, or both. There is a reason why I make clothes for Mylene and her mom since I started doing commissions in the first place, and that is only one of them!”
Adrien leaned forward then. “So anything else?”
“Fix the sizing system already—using measurements that we already use when getting clothes online for conversion charts, only no ‘small, medium, large’ just the amount of fabric at each measurement and a rough of how it fits on different sizes where from there!”
Adrien checked the time. Ten minutes to, and this guy sounded like the early type.
“Alright, better now?”
Marinette blinked a few times, rage vanishing as she processed what happened. “… yes.”
“Good, feel ready to work out a rough?”
Marinette smirked. “They won’t know what hit them!”
--
Tim walked in and decided this candidate was high on his personal choice of who he’s like to be baby bat. The girl had cookies at the ready with coffee (real coffee, making her much better than Marie Ann) and didn’t bat an eyelash at the Wayne name. So either cool under pressure, or doesn’t care for celebrity status, either way a bonus in his books.
Then came how she just… had that same look Bruce gets when working out one of Riddler’s puzzles, only while she was working out a suit for him. She was just in charge of the design portion—Gabriel assured him he’d check over the whole thing and handle production and all. But this suit she worked out in minutes—even grumbling about making sure his pockets were at easy access level for him to grab his phone in case of emergencies and checking over his phone to shape the pocket and cut with that in mind—he likes it.
Given her features, she wouldn’t be out of place in the family—blue eyes and black hair for the win once again. And she clearly understood professionalism, even if she was being monitored by Gabriel’s son who seemed content to let her operate without asking any questions beyond asking him if he had any fabrics he didn’t want or any skin sensitivities.
Her measurement taking was faster than he was used to with tailors, and she admitted it was a double check and checking the fits he already uses to further incorporate it into the design.
No matter how this pans out, he’s decided he’s keeping her on as a designer at the very least. And that Janet’s DNA test comes back negative. This Marinette is his new favorite pick, and she wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb. Plus, she already wears her hair like Ladybug and turned that into a casual nickname, so extra bonus on secret identity keeping cred if she is.
Now he just needs to find out if she really is and then drop the bomb on her while working out if she’s undercover working Gabriel/Hawkmoth, or not. If she is, damn. If not, he’s giving her ‘spot the bad guy’ lessons, price—one cup of coffee.
next part is in the works, its just a lot lore-wise and detective-wise with bats talking to Baby Bat with No Idea its Baby Bat until whoops, too late. Oops
anyone knows how to add the readmore, feel free to comment or message me
Something Just Like This - CH20
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader
Summary: Dean Winchester, mobster boss. He’s a little cocky, a lot ruthless and more often than not, short tempered. But he’s also, Dean Winchester, a war veteran and hero who suffers under a shit ton of PTS. He met her in a bar and thinks it’s fate that brought her to him. Little does he know why she’s really here.
A/N: This is just a little something fluffy. And we see a lil more of what lies ahead.
WC: 3436
SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Dean’s man helps her clean up the bar but he didn’t say a word. Only when Y/N asks him his name did he tell her that he’s Gabriel. She wonders what happened to Adam, if Dean’s really jealous and took her jokes seriously to take Adam off this job and delegate him to do something else. Because that wasn’t her intention.
Gabriel follows her to Dean’s apartment in his own car and even follows her into the garage.
She gets out the same as he gets out of his vehicle. “You didn’t have to come down here, I’m a big girl.”
Gabriel looks at her like he thinks she’s crazy. “I live here.”
“In this building?”
“Yeah, boss provides accommodation. Here, and several other buildings around town.”
Her jaw opens and she knows she has to close it. After a long while of staring each other down she asks, “How many of you live here?”
Gabriel shrugs, “About twenty. The rest he rents out.”
“He owns the whole building?”
“Hey woman, you’re with him, you should know.”
Yeah, maybe Gabriel’s right. Maybe she should know.
“And he decides who lives here and who lives in other buildings?”
“Only people he trusts live here.” Gabriel says it like it’s no big deal.
“Adam?”
“No.”
“Who’s looking after the cat when he’s not around?” She couldn’t help but ask.
“Before you? Sam sometimes Cas, but Cas is allergic to cats. Big boss doesn’t trust anyone else with a key to his apartment.”
“Ah,” She says and she feels her cheeks burning up.
“Listen, it’s late, I wanna go lie down. Will you be okay? Just hit me up tomorrow when you’re leaving for your shift. I’m in apartment 17A.”
“Okay,” She says, and adds, “Thank you.”
*
She turns the key and slips in, turns on the light and immediately, Cuddles is by her side, meowing softly. “Hey Cuddles, I’m gonna stay with you for a couple of days, okay? You hungry?”
Cuddles runs straight to his feeding dish, meows some more and she drops her things in Dean’s bedroom before she returns to feed the cat.
While Cuddles is eating, she stands up, empties the litter box and walks back into the bedroom. “I’m gonna take a shower, alright?” She says to the cat in passing.
Apparently, she talks to cats now.
*
After her shower, Y/N walks out into the bedroom with a towel around her body. She goes straight to her bag but then she has an idea.
Walking over to Dean’s closet, she opens it.
Suits and shirts.
A lot of it.
Almost exclusively.
Dress pants too.
She opens a drawer. Ties. Neatly rolled up.
Another drawer. Cuff-links. Neatly aligned on one side, tie clips off to the other side.
She tries another drawer. Underwear and socks.
My god, where does he keep his normal clothing?
The second to last drawer. Bingo! Simple t-shirts and henleys. Not as many as dress shirts but enough. She finds the one she’s been looking for, and pulls it out, places it to her nose, smells Dean’s detergent on it.
It’s the same shirt she wore when she was here the first time. Led Zeppelin. The letters already faded. She wonders if he’s wearing it often.
She walks back into the bathroom, hangs the towel up to dry and brushes her teeth. Everything’s still here. His toothbrush, his trimmer, his cologne. Dean must be used to traveling, maybe even has sets in his bag ready for travel so he doesn’t have to unpack a lot once he gets home.
Walking out again, she turns on the light on the bedside table before returning to the bathroom to switch off that light. She fishes out a pair of underwear she’s packed and puts her old clothes into the plastic bag before she stuffs them into her overnight bag.
When she looks at the bed again, Cuddles’ already lying in there, waiting for her.
She grins, “Hey buddy, you’re not supposed to be in here.”
The cat gives her a look that says Duh! If you wouldn’t have wanted me in here you should have closed the door! But then it’s like the cat’s face softens up when she strokes his head. And now he’s looking at her as if to say I won’t tell if you don’t. And how can she say no to that?
Y/N cozies herself into the bed, almost gets lost in the comfy sheets. Everything smells new. Dean must have changed the sheets before he left.
Turning off the light, she turns on her side, Cuddles is already purring away next to her.
She’s almost asleep when she hears her phone vibrate. She takes it, looks at the message. Smiles because she can’t not smile at that.
D: Is everything okay?
Y/N: Why shouldn’t it be?
D: Is the cat giving you attitude?
Y/N: He has a name.
D: Is Cuddles giving you attitude?
Y/N: Oh shit, I was supposed to go to your place!
D: Jesus Y/N! Don’t make me drive back to spank you!
Y/N: Relax. Everything’s fine. Although I wouldn’t say no to a spanking. But yeah, we’re fine. Both in bed and ready to sleep.
D: I would hope that you’re both in separate beds. With him in his cat bed which is located in the fucking living room.
Y/N: Sure.
D: Y/N!
Y/N: Good night Dean
D: I swear, if I find out that he’s been in my bed..
She laughs at that, puts her phone aside even if it’s still vibrating with incoming messages. She’s too tired to deal with texts.
It’s about another minute when her phone rings, and she picks up grumpily. “Hello?”
“I know you didn’t read the messages.”
“I’m tired.”
“That’s alright. Just want to say good night to you. So good night, baby.”
“Good night Dean.”
“Miss you.” He adds and there goes sleep because her heart is racing.
“Miss you too.”
Tumblr media
They’re driving to an abandoned warehouse, where the meeting with Crowley is supposed to be. They’re meeting with Crowley’s nephew. The head of Crowley’s logistics operation or so Crowley says.
The drive is a short one since they were already in town for another meeting yesterday and slept here. Sleep is maybe too good of a word. Dean has had a nightmare again, woke up in the middle of the night with sweat beading his forehead. That was when he texted her.
It’s almost noon now and he wonders if she’s awake already.
“Dean, we’re here.” Cas says, jolting Dean back to reality.
“Okay, you can go on, I’ll just be a minute.” He says while Inias, Ash and Cas get out of the car. Of course Dean didn’t miss Cas’ eye roll. Couldn’t have missed it if he tried.
Alone in the car, Dean thumbs over his contacts, his finger hovers above her number. He debates for a short moment, breathes in and out. He doesn’t want to wake her up but the urge to hear her voice is almost too much for him to bear.
It rings.
“‘Lo,”
Dean exhales. The tense in his body is gone and he relaxes immediately. She sounds like she just woke up, her voice as a sexy sultry tone to it. It actually makes his cock stir in his pants and he knows he should be ashamed of it. Should be worried of the effects she has on him. Worried of the power she holds over him.
“Good morning, sweetheart. Did you sleep alright?”
“Yeah,” Dean can hear shuffling, she’s probably getting out of the bed. His bed. The thought makes him feel kind of content. It should be like this, shouldn’t it? With her in his apartment, in his bed.
“Did I wake you up?”
“No, I’m up for a while. How did you sleep?”
“What is sleep?” He snorts.
“Nightmare?”
Dean sighs, “Yeah.”
“‘M sorry.”
“Don’t bother,” He brushes it off, doesn’t want to dwell on the subject of his nightmares. “What are you doing now?”
“I’m—” There’s a sound of a machine. Loud and horrible. He makes a mental note to maybe get a new one. One that isn’t so fucking loud. “—oh my god!”
Dean chuckles, “It’s loud isn’t it?”
“No, I mean yeah, it is but I just had another shock moment.”
Dean’s alarmed. “What is it? The cat?”
Y/N laughs then, “Sorry, no. It’s just I was walking around and there’s a blob of your cum coming out of me and I think I need to change underwear again.”
“Jesus, Y/N! You seriously need to stop giving me heart attacks!” Then his voice gets lower, “Fuck, thanks for that image. Now I can’t stop thinking about you walking around in my apartment with cum stained underwear. You’re now wet and dripping, too, probably. Wet enough for me to just bend you over and fuck into you.”
Alright, that was a mistake because he’s half hard just by imagining it.
“Thanks,” She says, and adds, “Now I’m even wetter.”
“You’re welcome.” Dean grins.
“Why don’t you do it?”
“Do what?” He asks, wondering how she thinks he can go there right now.
“Bend me over and fuck me from behind. You always do it from the front.”
It’s the first time Dean thinks about it and yeah, that’s true.
“I-I just always want to see your face. I can’t if I’m behind you.”
It’s the truth. He can’t stand not seeing her face. Wants to know when he’s doing something wrong because she matters.
“You have a floor length mirror in your bedroom, just saying,”
“Ooookay, I need to cut this off because I have a meeting to attend and I can’t be thinking of you on all fours wet and ready for me.”
She laughs, “Too late.”
“It is.” He agrees. “Right, I’ll be in touch and I’ll see you soon.”
“Bye, Dean.”
“Bye, baby.”
Dean hangs up, stowed his phone back into his pocket and adjusts his boner before he gets out, buttoning up his suit jacket, slips into Dean Winchester, mobster boss.
“Alright, let’s go.”
*
“Gentlemen,” Crowley says as they walk in. “Take a seat.”
There are four empty chairs around a gigantic round table. The others are all occupied.
“Sorry we’re late,” Dean says, unbuttons his jacket and sits down. He looks into the round, sees familiar faces except for one.
“Yeah, he had to call up his sweetheart.” Ash snorts and Dean gives him that look. A look that says, that Ash should shut up or he’ll find himself at the end of a barrel.
Crowley grins, “Is that so? Is that why you didn’t want a girl from the club?”
Dean’s annoyed to say the least. “Can we get on with what he came here for?”
Crowley ignores Dean, turns to Ash and says, “That waitress?”
“Barmaid.” Cas corrects Crowley, a smug grin on his face but that grin is gone when he sees the look on Dean’s face.
“Ew, the one who said she had STD.” Crowley cringes his nose but then his lips form an ‘O’, “Ah, I’ve been played, I see. Barmaid one, Crowley zero.”
“Please, it’s none if your fucking business.” Dean growls, his hand comes up to scratch at his jaw, feeling visibly uncomfortable.
“Right, it’s your ‘fucking’ business,” Crowley is still grinning, air quotes the word fucking. “Anyway, gentlemen, this is my nephew Cain. He’s something higher up at Amtrak, is responsible for routes and schedules, I asked him to help out and here he is.”
“Cain,” Dean nods. It’s hard to tell that Cain’s Crowley’s nephew. He’s much taller, doesn’t look like his uncle at all. If it’s even his real uncle. Sometimes Crowley likes to take people under his wing, mentor them so he can use them.
“I’ll have people cover up the wagons, make them believe it’s a freight train of the city when in fact it’s gonna be methylamine for buyers in the west and countless other illegal things that I don’t even wanna know about.” Crowley is explaining it to Cain. Looking around at Dean and his men Crowley then says, “I hope gentlemen, that after this, you’ll be voting for me again in the next mayoral election.”
Dean tries not to snort out too loud.
“How many wagons are we talking about?” Cain asks, balancing a pen on his finger. Dean has noticed that Cain’s taking notes like a good school boy. He doesn’t know what it is but there’s something about Cain that rubs him the wrong way. He wonders if Crowley has run a background check on him.
“About fifteen to twenty.” Dean says.
“Excuse me what?” Cain asks, taken aback by the large number.
“Oh, you heard me.” Dean smirks and then he turns to Crowley, “I don’t think your nephew is ready for such a big thing.”
Castiel lowers his chin and mumbles “That’s what he said.” Which in turns makes Ash spit out the water he’s been drinking and splatters it across the table.
He’s working with a bunch of kids, Dean realizes.
“Cain, are you able to do that?” Crowley asks, his gaze on Cain and it’s as if Cain knows that if he says no, Crowley will probably do something bad to him and get someone else to do it anyway.
“I can,” Cain says, but his voice is not as convincing. “I need a couple of months, though.”
“Months?” Crowley’s outraged.
“Yeah, it’s not that easy, given the amount of freight I need to be thorough with the planning.” Cain tries to explain himself.
“Ash will help you.” Dean says.
*
After everyone walks out of the meeting room, Dean pulls Crowley aside. “Listen how real of a nephew is Cain to you?”
Crowley chuckles. “He’s actually not. It’s just someone I thought has potential.”
“Good,” Dean whispers. “I don’t trust him. Do you have a back up?”
“I always have a back up. Maybe not as good but when Ash can work on it sometime with Cain, maybe Ash can do the majority and we can get the backup in. I don’t trust Cain myself.”
“Why’s that?”
“Have you seen him making notes? Who the hell does that? It’s not like the things we talk about should be found anywhere! It fucking irks me!” Crowley hisses.
“Why did you get him on board?” Dean hisses back.
“His brother worked for me and got killed. Said I’d take care of his family and when I found out that Cain works for Amtrak, he was my fucking man alright?”
“For fuck’s sake, Crowley! Why do you think that he won’t be ratting us out? For all I know he’s gonna serve our asses to the Feds on a fucking silver platter!” Dean’s annoyed, punches the wall next to him.
“He’s being watched 24/7. I tapped his phone and his emails are going through my server. For now, get Ash to work with him, I’ll take care of it when time comes.” Crowley says and with that, he walks out of the meeting room.
Dean feels nauseous, has to sit down for a moment. He rubs his face, leans back and closes his eyes.
No, this can’t be happening. He’s not going to lay his future (or what’s left of it) in the hands of fucking Cain. This is his only shot, it’s all or nothing. It has to work out, only then will he be a free man. And now with Y/N, he has even more to lose.
Tumblr media
D: I have to stay here another night, will you be okay?
Her phone lights up as she’s loading the dishwasher. She finishes the task and writes back.
Y/N: Don’t worry about me. Cuddles and me are having a good time.
D: Wish I could be there.
She giggles before she types something in.
Y/N: You’d be the third wheel.
The three dots appear, which means Dean’s typing something. And then they disappear only to reappear. The same game, again and again.
Y/N: You okay?
D: Yeah.
Then a little later.
D: No, actually I’m not. I’m having a rough day. Can I call you later? Maybe it helps when I hear your voice.
Y/N: Sure. Do you wanna call now?
D: No, I’m with Cas and the others. They’re already making enough fun of me as it is. Don’t worry, I’ll call you later, sweetheart.
Y/N: Okay.
Great. Does he think that she won’t worry? Ugh. Men, seriously.
She pockets her phone into her jeans and walks towards Dean’s office. She absolutely hates to do that. It’s like Dean completely turns her around and that’s not good, is it?
Her heart’s racing when she opens the door. The office is sparse, a big heavy desk, a big screen, a laptop. One big ass office chair and behind it some folders and a file cabinet.
All of a sudden a sound makes her scream up. Cuddles jumped from the floor onto the desk. “My god, you scared me for a second there.”
The cat looks at her with the look that says something like You and me both know that neither of us should be in here.
She sighs, rolls her eyes, “This is our secret, alright? I’m not doing it because I want to.”
Y/N works fast, looks through folders, files, comes up empty handed. She picks up the cat, glances back one last time to see if everything’s as it should be and then she closes the door behind her, leans against it and breathes for the first time. She didn’t realize that she’s been holding her breath this whole time.
There’s nothing that leads to his shady things. All the folders and files are about legal investments and that is as frustrating as it is a relief.
He must have all his other things at the bunker and who knows when she’ll be able to go there next and even worse, she won’t be alone in there.
She walks back to the couch, drops herself and the cat down on it, takes out her phone and snaps a picture of them together. Her face is still a little flushed and Cuddles looks as annoyed as a cat can.
She decides to send it to Dean, to help cheer him up.
The reply came immediately.
D: My two favorite things.
Her cheeks start to redden again. And then another text.
D: I set it as my lock screen, hope you don’t mind. You look good in my shirt. Have you been going through my stuff?
Oh, oh…
Y/N: Just wanted to sleep in the shirt I slept in the first time I was here.
She hopes he’s buying it. Which he should because it’s the truth.
D: It’s okay, I don’t keep secrets from you. It looks better on you anyway. You can keep it if you want.
She doesn’t know if she should answer. What she should answer. Decides not to because he said before that he was busy.
Looking at the watch, she sees that she still has two hours to kill before she has to go to work. She walks to her bag, gets out her drawing book and starts to draw. It’s a passion really. She always wanted to study art but then the thing with her dad happened and she completely turned her life around. Now she only draws when there’s time.
Opening the a new page, she picks out Cuddles to draw and when she’s about to start, Dean’s text is coming in.
D: There’s a gym and a pool on the first floor of the building if you’re bored.
Y/N: Tell me, do you really don’t have a camera in here? I thought you didn’t have a pool?
D: No cameras, just think that you might be bored. And it’s not my pool. It’s a community pool for everyone in the building.
Y/N: I don’t have a bathing suit with me.
D: Then don’t go to the pool. It’s kinda unsanitary to swim naked.
She snorts out a laugh.
Y/N: That’s your only concern? That I would swim there naked?
D: Yeah.
Y/N: Okay.
D: My second concern is that people will see you naked and I don’t want that.
Y/N: Thanks for being honest.
D: Anytime.
Y/N: Now stop texting me and go about your business!
D: You sound like Cas.
She grins and picks her pencil back up.
Hamish & Vera soulmate au headcannons
Part three of the first words au suggested by my girl, Sima, as anonymously demanded in an ask politely requested in the notes sjsjjs.
Will I cry? Maybe. Will YOU cry? Hopefully Probably. They'll be happy tears tho. I think. I hope.
(Wtf does Hamish even study, guys) Hamish always feels like there's something missing. The apartment doesn't feel like home. It feels strange and alien. He doesn't know what he's missing. Or maybe it's a who? Late in the night, Hamish will check his wrist and he'll wonder when he'll hear the words. He wonders what sort of situation they're going to be in. The days feel monotonous and like they drag on for years. Something is missing.
Vera doesn't go home for anything other than sleep. The past few years, drifting away from Hamish, wasn't so bad. She still went home, albeit very late, and she still didn't have much of a problem delaying leaving. It felt nice to be at home and remember the days when she had enough free time to lounge around with Hamis. Now, going home brought guilt with it. Everywhere she looked, he was there and she couldn't face knowing she had done it to him. Part of her hoped he'd never get hid memories back. She hoped she could live with Hamish having no idea who she was, but she knew she could never live with Hamish hating her. Vera often sits alone in the reliquary, staring at her wrist. Remembering the day she watched the words write themselves. For weeks, Vera didn't look at her wrist because she knew soulmates changed and she knew that Hamish might find someone else without all his memories. She sits behind the desk and fiddles with a ring handing from a chain around her neck.
The day Hamish gets his memory back, he doesn't know what to feel. Jack is very vocal about how pissed he is at Vera and Alyssa, more than the Order as a whole. Lilith just shrugs it off. She never expected anything different from them.
Randall waits until Jack and Lilith have left the den, probably to hunt down their knives that they'd both had at one point. "Hamish --"
"Don't, Randall."
"We don't know if she really wanted--"
"She's the Grand Magus. She holds the highest authority. Don't make excuses for her."
Randall leaves quietly. He knows how stubborn Hamish can get.
"We're going to make them pay," Jack tells the knights after they've been inducted. "All of them."
Hamish glances back to see Alyssa walk by. Yes, he thinks of Vera, all of them.
They need the necklace. They need to get a copy of it.
"Let me," Jack says, "I'll--" "No, I'll do it."
Randall is rightfully Concerned™. "Dude, are you sure? It could get--" "Ugly? Painful? For her, I certainly hope so."
Lilith, as Hamish leaves: So, um, is now a good time to ask about what happened during the ambush last year or . . .
Randall: you know what, I think you should talk to Hamish about this one......
I am a strong woman, Vera thinks to herself when Hamish walks in with a drink. I will not break, I will not break, I will not break.
Ultimately, she gives in anyway a few days later. Not to say that she's blameless. Hamish, despite all his burning hatred, still loves Vera like before. He's intrigued at how he can love and hate her at the same time. Is this what people mean when they say, "it's complicated"?
"Bring me something in a tall glass," she says, absently clicking the heel of her shoe against the floor twice. I want your attention.
"What happened to you?" "NOTHING. What-- what happened to you?"
Randall's still wary of the demon summoning, but he's noticed the look on Hamish's face. He hasn't seen that look in years. Big gasp from Randall. Big glare from Hamish.
Later, once the excitement is slowly dying down for Hamish and he settles down to watch his young friends thoroughly enjoy entertaining themselves, Randall scoots up to Hamish. "You are so weak for V." "Am not." "You've got her lipstick on your face." "Shit, really? Did Jack and Lilith notice?" "HA!" "Fuck you, Randall ..... don't tell them anything." "My silence costs twenty bucks." ".......fuck u"
"Let me dispel the rumours. We are all going to die." Hamish's amused snort is quickly silenced by the withering glare Vera gives him.
When Vera comes to and notices Hamish taking care of her, she's almost relieved. Then she remembers the threat, Alyssa, Kepler and most importantly, no getting close to Hamish until everyhting is all sorted.
"So . . . what's all this talk about wolves?"
Honestly, at this point, Vera thinks she's going to glare hard enough that her eyeballs pop. "You fucking IDIOTS! You lying fuck, you actually got me thinking you genuinely cared. And you, you little shit . . . . you -- you -- you -- fuck you. Where is my inventory?"
"It was stolen from us." :|
"Oh, so you lost it. No surprise there."
"That's a little harsh, V." "I told you not to call me that, Randall." "Sorry. Look, we'll get the sickles back. We won't--"
"Too late."
Losing Lilith only makes Hamish worse. He wants to blame Vera and the Order, he really does. But he can't. He knows Vera and he knows she's not selfish enough to do this for her own benefit. Fuck feelings, they just make everything so damn complicated.
Vera is pissed at Hamish for being so petty. Hamish is pissed at Vera for the blatant betrayal. Vera is pissed with herself for allowing everything to come to this. Hamish is pissed at himself for being unable to resist Vera. They're both pissed and not talking to each other and frankly, it's starting to weigh on Randall, the only one who really knows what's going on behind closed doors.
"You know, you really should talk to Vera." Gabrielle appears out of nowhere. "About what?" Hamish and Randall: terrified screaming for about half a second until they finally spot the tiny Acolyte.
"Nothing." "You two are up to something. I wanna know what it is." "Are you blackmailing us . . . to spend time with us?" "No. What d'you need to talk to the Grand Magus about?" "Getting you some heels so we can see you when you're approaching." "Very funny, Randall."
When Vera attacks the Prometheans (and Jack) with her emotional amplifier, it's not just the desperate cries of a baby ringing in everyone's ears. Among it all is Vera's own voice, her always doubting that she'd done the right thing in erasing the Knights' memories, her thinking about how much Hamish was going to hate her and that was a price she was willing to pay to keep him safe for as long as possible.
Among it all are nights where a very young Vera would cry alone, wiping at her eyes with a bare wrist. And then a much older Vera, hiding away in a vault, refusing to cry as she looks at the words on her wrist.
"I don't need your pity, Mr Morton," Vera says, hoping and praying that Jack doesn't care enough to put all the pieces together. "I'm sorry about your daughter." Vera doesn't turn back to face him. She's okay. She really is. And then a very quiet, very whispered, "and Hamish." Vera leaves before Jack can see her strength fail.
"Are either of you going to tell me why you're all on first name basis with the Grand Magus?" "It's a Knight secret, Gabby, sorry." "Fuck you."
Hamish is still being Petty and Pissed, so when Vera gives them the contract and Randall gets super upset, Jack's the one to tell him to lay off a bit. "I think you're overreacting." "And I think you're protecting Hamish's girlfriend."
Hamish, low warning tone and Vera, high yell: "Randall!"
"Am I wrong?"
"About which part?" Jack mutters, glad the joke makes Randall laugh. He can deal with one angry werewolf. Two is way too much a burden.
"Have you seen or heard from Hamish this morning?" "Why would you ask me that?" Jack gives her a deadpan look. Big sigh. "No, I haven't."
Hamish being missing shifts Vera's entire outlook. She's wasting all this time being mad and angry when she could have been using it to try and mend her relationship with Hamish.
"Is everyone okay?" Hamish grins because he knows that as pissed as they are with each other, she worries for him just as much as he worries for her. Vera would have to hit a very high bar if she really wanted to break off every tie she had to Hamish and Hamish is sure Vera doesn't want to even touch that bar.
Vera is completely stunned when Hamish literally throws Angus out of the room. In all honesty, she shouldn't have been, but still. She expected a little more restraint, given Hamish was still visibly pissed with her. On the outside, anyway.
"I'm sorry, Vera. I saw Angus and I just reacted. I almost died yesterday and now it seems like I might die anyway. Part of me wishes we never got our memories back. I could just go back to being . . . happy."
Vera doesn't turn back. "Would you really? Be happy, I mean. You have all the answers now. You know all the right questions. Would you really be happy?"
"Ignorance is bliss." "Not always."
And then the tartarus eruptions begin.
Jack runs into Alyssa at a Praxis location and the Knights recover a third of the Order's inventory.
"Tell me about these puppies." Obviously, Vera wants information about what Praxis is up to, but Randall deadass adopted the puppies so now Vera is subject to being lectured about the puppies. Okay, not lectured, she's somewhat invested in her new grandchildren. Hamish has a small smile on his face because Vera's still his Vera. Strangely fond of Randall despite all his annoying flaws -- just like Hamish himself.
Vera makes the three of them Magistratuses on the spot and Hamish looks like he's beaming at the promotion but really he's just so thrilled to see Stubborn and Petty Vera go up against Kepler.
"I'll order some wine." "Champagne, please. We're at war with Praxis, not good taste." And she's apparently retained what he taught her about drinks!
No matter what she does or what she acts like, the very core of who Vera is, her innermost self, will never change. And Hamish is glad for it, because that's who he loves. And the words mark her forever, so she'll never forget it.
"It's all right to let someone care about you." Vera shakes her head, because she's done horrible, horrible things and some would even call her irredeemable. She wants to argue and fight with Hamish because away from her is the only place he'll be safe. "V. . ."
Hamish is better at saying things when he doesn't talk. So he takes hold of her hand and gives it two small squeezes. I love you. He tucks a lock of hair behind her ear and trails his hand down to her chin before lifting her head, guiding her to look at him. His fingers tap on her neck. One, two, three times. I'm not going anywhere. I'm here for you.
And when everything dies down, Hamish swears to protect Vera. He and the rest of the Knights will protect her secret with their lives. Even if she weren't their Grand Magus, she's Hamish's soulmate and given how important Hamish is to them, it's no surprise Vera automatically is, too.
Besides, Randall kinda likes the Mom Vibes he gets from Vera. Gabrielle is jealous.
Vera finds Hamish taking a nap under the tree. He squints at her. "Don't make me look like an idiot. Get down here."
Vera smiles and joins Hamish on the grass. "I love you," she says softly, finally, finally finding the peace and joy she had before she and Hamish started drifting. She looks at the words on his hand, then the words on her own.
Soulmates. Someone who is always going to be there for her, no matter what. It's nice to have one, even though for most of her life, she thought she would never find one.
But the special thing about Hamish is that they had something really special long before they discovered they were soulmates. Vera smiled in the knowledge that Hamish wouldn't have done a damn thing different even if she still had s blank wrist. He loves her, she loves him, and frankly, nothing else matters.
FINALLY COMPLETE!!!!!! I trust this is satisfactory, my loves??
See other soulmate AUs that make me cry
After giving Eleanor, Gabriel, and Theodore breakfast, Riley made her way to the kitchen of their New York penthouse and began making turkey sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies, for what she hoped could be for a picnic in Central Park in the late afternoon after the kids’ practices.
The sound of the mixer didn’t allow Riley to hear her husband walk into the kitchen. She feels his stiff arms around her waist and chuckles.
Kissing the back of her head, Theodore asks, “Making a treat for me?”
Riley laughs, removing herself from his grasp to preheat the oven on the other side of the kitchen. “For the kids.”
Theodore looks into the bowl. “Isn’t it a little early to be making dessert?”
“Actually,” Riley goes back and stops the mixer. “I thought we could go on a little picnic?” She looks at her husband thoughtfully. Bringing her attention back towards the cookies, she continues, “After Gabe’s soccer practice and Ella’s dance class, of course.”
“Of course,” he repeats. He watches her put the cookie dough in the fridge. “We should ask the kids.”
Riley turns, holding a piece of bread in her hands. “Do you think they might not want to go?”
“Nah, I’m sure they do.” He walks up to her and collects her in his arms. “But I had other plans for us today.”
A shy smile spreads across Riley’s face. “Which is?”
“A visit to the Met. They’ve a new exhibit.”
“With the kids?” she removes herself from his embrace with her free hand and goes back to making sandwiches.
“We can ask them to come with.”
“And if they don’t want to?”
Theodore laughs. Letting go of Riley, he goes into the fridge to grab an apple. “Gabe’s old enough to watch over Ella for a couple hours. We’ll bring them back dinner.”
Gabriel had just turned ten, and Eleanor was still many weeks away from turning eight. Even though her husband argued that they were old enough to be somewhat self sufficient, Riley still felt nervous leaving them alone.
Noticing the concern on her face, he suggests, “We could also just go during their practice times if that’ll make you feel better, babe.”
“Thanks, Theo,” she smiles, eyeing the apple. “I just... get worried sometimes. Especially for Gabe.”
Theo gives an understanding nod and takes a bite into his apple, but not before Riley notices the irritation on his face. After ten years, she no longer let it bother her, unless Theo’s annoyance of her and Liam’s son got excessive. She understood that it was difficult for Theo to raise a child that wasn’t his, especially when his wife made it very clear that she was still in love with the father of that child.
Even though Theo agreed to parent Gabriel with Riley, he was glad that they had their own daughter, Eleanor, so he could at least be a father to her in the ways that he wasn’t with Gabe.
“You know I didn’t mean it like that, right?” Riley turns to fully face him, wanting to keep her husband in a good mood, she tries to explain herself. “It’s just that I don’t want them to do anything foolish or—.”
“Riley. Babe,” Theodore looks at his wife, in her old, dark tank top and a worn pair of jeans. “I know. I worry about them, too. I wanna keep them safe, too.”
Riley smiles and gives her husband a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you,” she whispers. Turning back to the counter, she finishes making the sandwiches as Theo stands behind her, eating his apple. “I’ll leave these for lunch then, if we’re not going on the picnic. We can get Chinese for dinner, and maybe the cookies could be a snack for later today?” She looks at Theo, and he nods in silent agreement.
-------
Ella and I raced down towards the elevator, Mom and Dad trailing far behind us. We hold the “close doors” button and leave them on our floor as the elevator falls towards the lobby.
We tumble out, giggling, but Ella freezes and cries, “I forgot my water!” She starts throwing things out of her bag and onto the lobby floor. When Mom and Dad finally come out of the elevator, Mom starts laughing.
“Forgot this?” she holds out Ella’s bottle to her and helps her put everything back in her bag.
The four of us walk together towards the waiting limo. Once we’re inside, Mom and Dad turn to us.
“While you guys are at practice,” Dad begins, “Your mother and I will be seeing a new exhibit at the Met.”
“Ou, take pictures for me, please!” Ella requests.
“We’ll pick you up on time, promise,” Mom reassures, caressing my cheek. “You both have your phones on you, yes?”
Ella and I pat our pockets, signaling where we put our devices.
We reach the indoor soccer courts first. Mom gives me a quick kiss on my forehead and Dad gives me a pat on the back as I fumble out the door with my large bag. I wish Ella good luck during dance practice and head inside.
I played until I could barely breath. I skipped some of the water breaks, my body wanting to keep moving, so when everyone was hydrating themselves, I continued to dribble and chase after the ball. During the third water break, coach yells at me to “Sit the hell down!” so I relent and down my water in one breath. My parents are planning a trip to Italy next week, and I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t going to lose that much practice time; I was motivated to work ahead.
After practice, I wait in the lobby with some of my friends. We talk, but we’re not fully engrossed in the conversation: everyone either has their eyes glued to the doors or to their phones, waiting for their parents to give the signal that it was time to go home.
I turn on the ringer of my phone and sit back on the bench, waiting for my parents. Dad was usually the punctual one, but since they’d gone to visit a new exhibit, I guessed he wanted to spend a little more time there; Mom and Dad weren’t always free to be able to do things together.
I take a nap while I wait, but when I wake up, I realize that I’ve been waiting for almost half an hour. Ella’s session would end in a couple minutes, so I shoot her a text hoping that she would see it as soon as she got out.
Hey.
hi. r u guys on ur way?
No. Mom and Dad haven’t picked me up yet.
rlly? whats taking them so long?????
I’m going to check their location
She leaves me on read.
It says “loading” but then says unavailable. The Met has wifi right?
weird
Can you check, please?
yessir
After a few moments, she texts me back.
it says the same for me :(( im worried
Don’t worry, I’m sure there’s a reason
I sit in the lobby, trying to calm down Eleanor through text and wave goodbye to all my friends as their parents pick them up. After another half hour, the next set of lessons start for the older kids. The receptionist steals glances at me before finally saying, “Hey Gabriel, is your mom coming to pick you up today?”
“Um,” I look down at the phone in my hand, contemplating whether I should call one of my parents. “I’m not sure.”
“What about your dad?” she asks.
“No, they should be in the same place. They usually pick me up by now.”
“We have your grandmother as an emergency number. Want me to call her up and make sure everything’s alright?” she suggests. I want to say no, that there’s no reason to worry, but the sense of dread in my chest threatens to yield tears.
“Sure,” I allow.
My mother’s mother lives in Northern New Jersey and visits often, since it’s not too long of a train ride — she’d drive, but parking was difficult, and our reserved underground parking spots in the building was already filled with Dad’s cars. The receptionist introduces herself, then waves me over to talk on the phone.
“Hell-o!” Grandma greets. “How was practice? Everything okay?”
“Good. Yeah everything’s fine,” I say. “Practice ended almost an hour ago, but I’m still here. And Ella says that Mom and Dad haven’t picked her up, either.”
“Uh oh,” she says, and I can hear her face fall. “Do you want me to come pick you up? You both can stay with me tonight. Then we will call Mama and tell her you guys are alright. How does that sound?”
I give a sigh of relief. “Yes, please. I’ll tell Ella.”
“Okay, baby. I’ll get there as soon as I can.”
I fill in my sister, but she doesn’t reply to my texts.
Twenty minutes later, I throw my bag into the trunk of Grandma’s Buick and slide into the back seat next to Ella. She stares at her lap, and I know she’s feeling the same amount of worry and confusion that I am.
When we reach Grandma’s small town, she asks us if we want dinner. When both of us say we’re not hungry, she still grabs us McDonald’s.
Mom and Dad don’t answer our calls. We even call Dad’s assistant, but she also says that she hasn’t heard from him.
We eat dinner quietly, with Grandma giving us encouraging kisses and pep talks while we talk about our practices. Afterwards, we go into the living room to quietly watch some Netflix while Grandma makes some apple pie. The smell of it baking in the oven makes me nostalgic for something unknown, and it reminds me of the cookies that Mom was making earlier today. I hear Ella sniffle, and turn to see her silently crying.
After desert, Grandma gives us some of Mom’s old baggy clothes to sleep in. Ella gets to sleep in Mom’s old room while I sleep in the guest room. My eyes burn from the amount of tears I held back today, and its almost painful to close them.
...
I wake to the smell of pancakes and a familiar rumble in the pit of my stomach. I brush my teeth, but don’t bother to fix my hair. Ella eats quietly on the island in the kitchen. I slide onto the seat next to her and watch Grandma start making another pancake.
“Good morning!” she says to me. “Could one of you please turn on the news in the living room?”
I allow Ella to keep eating and walk towards the little doorway that separates the living room from the kitchen. Turning on the news, I increase the volume. The image of police cars, ambulances, and firetrucks from a helicopter view flash on the screen while a female reporter narrates the incident.
“On the evening of May seventeenth, the Metropolitan Museum of Art was bombed by an unidentified group. Investigations are underway and the city has been closed off, including trains and bus routes into and out of the city, along with roads and bridges.
“Many dead bodies have been found, and many others are severely injured. CEO of Blaise Enterprises, Mister Theodore Blaise, has been found dead. The whereabouts of his wife, Riley Brooks, are unknown. Senator Nicolae Adebayo sustained serious injuries, as did many other persons.”
Ella’s screams drown out the sound of my heart thundering in my ears. Grandma rushes towards her and collects her off of the floor and into her arms. I stare at them, the reporters’ voices and the smell of the pancake burning melt into the background as I take a shaky breath and allow my tears to fall.
Chapter 1: And We Must Be Brave
Sunrise in Ethernia was always a sight to behold, bringing out the beauty of the land. Even the Horde infested Fright Zone looked nice at this time of day. The Kingdom of Snows sparkled like a diamond, the rays of the sun making the ice shine. The flowers in Plumeria reach up to soak in the light, opening up their petals and showing off their color. Salinaes' waters began to twinkle in the light as they kept hitting the city walls. Shadows stretched over Dryl, the sun showing off the kingdom's grand architecture. The hidden kingdom of Mystacor danced in the sky, floating in place as the sun came up and passed them. None of these places compared to Bright Moon at sunrise. every nook and cranny came alive with energy and life, glimmering with hope for all to see.
Which did not include Adora, who was currently fast asleep.
She began squirming around, trying to grab something without waking up. Unfortunately, she squirmed around too much and fell out of her bed and onto the floor.
"Urg..." Adora regretfully opened up her eyes, groaning and moaning as she tried to get a sense of her surroundings. Hadn't she gotten over the whole 'falling out of the very tall bed thing' already? According to today, apparently not.
"Oh, I didn't think it could get worse..." she slowly stood up and began stretching, trying to lessen the aches running up and down her. That last fight with Catra really put her through the ringer, even putting aside the whole realty-crumbling-as-far-as-the-eye-can-see fact. Falling onto the floor only aggravated those pains. A hot bath was certainly in order, especially if the First Ones wanted to go over more physical combat skills with She-Ra later on.
Adora let out a huge yawn before she felt her a couple of her bones pop. Going back to sleep now was pointless since the sun was up. She'd only get a few more moments before Bow came in telling her not to sleep the day away, followed up by Glimmer teleporting onto her bed and yanking the sheets off.
"Morning, Adora."
"Morning, Glimmer. Good to see you– what are you doing in here?"
Adora rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't imagining things. There Glimmer was, sitting on the window seat, looking over Bright Moon.
"Oh, you know," Glimmer shrugged. "Just... thinking."
"What kind of thinking?" Adora plopped down on the other side of the window seat.
"Just normal thinking about normal stuff."
"Right, normal thinking. Not processing-what-just-happened thinking."
"Totally not that!" Glimmer's voice cracked on the last word.The two sat in silence, watching what remained of the sunrise.
"You know," Adora began, "if you wanna talk about it, I'm here to listen."
"Not really," Glimmer pulled her legs to her chest.
"You sure?" Adora asked, trying to push the envelope as much as she could.
"I'm sure... I don't wanna think about it unless I have to."
"Got it..." Adora clicked her tongue. She shuffled around a little, the air heavy with unspoken words. It's not like Adora could blame Glimmer. Even if Angelica was alive, she was sealed away. Sure, Etheria was safe from being ripped apart by space-time itself, but nothing felt right. It had barely been a day and the lack of one prominent face was already very noticeable. While Adora had never had a good mother, she couldn't help but think about how heartbroken Glimmer must be.
Hopefully she would open up soon.
And yet, dozens of dimensions away, another planet dealt with a less disastrous situation. Most specifically at New York... on a young girl's house. Makena's.
"Make yourselves at home!" Makena smiled at her two guests, Georgine and Utopix, while trying to unlock the door.
"Oh, this'll be fun!" Utopix excitedly waited by Georgine's side, who kept him close at all times. It hadn't been weeks since she decided to confess her love to him by printing her lips on his... yet she decided to protect him with such ferocity and valor.
"Why, hello!" Gabriel greeted the two lovebirds, leaning near Oliver's grumpy self.
"Hello, guys!" Utopix immediately reacted at his interaction by happily waving at him, unlike Georgine who glanced away at the discomfort of noticing Oliver there. Not that she cared, but she'd rather not deal with it right now.
"Oh, shoot..." she spoke out like a curse.
Hours have passed and Georgine had explained the uncomfortable situation that Utopix and her had to face earlier that week: a doppelgänger barging in her house and intimidating Utopix... letting him know of his existence.
"A doppelgänger?" Makena asked in concern.
"Yeah... We saw him a few days ago," Georgine replied, keeping her head low.
"What did he look like?" Makena added another question as she handed her a pencil and a blank piece of paper for her to sketch the stranger's face. She knew that such ability was one of Georgine's skills, so it'd be easy for her to try and replicate the unwanted individual's features. It wasn't that hard to remember it either. She had checked Uto's, as she called him, video log to understand what had happened that night.
"Kinda like Uto, but his hair was..." Georgine allowed the pencil to do the work for her.
After she was done sketching, she allowed her body to rest against the chair she was sitting on. Makena's hand rested on Georgine's shoulders as she contemplated the illustration.
"Oh." Makena didn't know what else to expect. The illustration looked quite like Utopix, just a tad bit different.
"Every good villain needs a name!" Gabriel interfered into their conversation as he prepared a chess board to keep Oliver entertained. "What about 'Otu'?" Gabriel's imagination run wild as the doppelgänger-needs-to-kill-the-hero situation was placed upon him. It bothered Georgine at times, but for once she'd let it pass.
"I guess so..." she said, holding the illustration near her face. "Takara must have sent him to take us off guard." Georgine assumed. "'Otu' managed to turn off Sabrina..." she added.
"That's awful..." Makena's concern instantly invaded her once more. "I-Is she okay? Oliver can fix her!!"
"Enlighten me," Georgine held Sabrina's... body up which was covered by a blanket which easily slipped off.
Oliver immediately analyzed the problem and decided to reveal his diagnosis. "If she's turned off, then she'll eventually turn back on. We can't force it."
Utopix's curiosity jumped at his words. "How do you know that?" It's not that he was amused that a foreigner knew basic Sardkenofian technology. It was the fact that he quickly came to a conclusion without hesitating... why? Oliver nearly stuttered, his head trying to come up with an excuse to satisfy the robot's curiosity.
"Checkmate!" Gabriel shouted; easily winning the chess game that Oliver barely paid attention to.
"Let's just get to fight practice already." Georgine merely seemed to suggest.
Once they were all at the bluntly painted basement, Georgine began wrapping some sport tape around her knuckles.
"Tsk... Mine is a lot better," Oliver commented on Makena's basement, as if there was supposed to be something more than just that.
"Lil' brat." Georgine shook her head as a mere reaction. "Either way, just watch and learn for now."
Makena giggled at their interaction, attracting her sweet kitten Smokey who simply posed by her. "Aww, Smokey..." she caressed him, attempting to make him sleepy.
But miles above the sky, that intimidating doppelgänger was being submitted to horrid punishment. His skin barely holding itself together after the many punches and slaps that Takara exposed him to. His target of destroying Utopix Alle Jones had been consumed by the slightest feeling in his non-existent heart. But he hadn't shown any sign of it when he paid him a visit, so what was really going on?
"I gave you a target and you failed miserably, 36." Takara angrily spoke to "Otu", a.k.a. as Experiment 36, merely giving the idea that she had tried this sort-of thing before. "Hit it." Takara ordered Blu, her other henchman, to activate the oh-so-painful electricity that ran across Otu's body mercilessly. "I hope that you don't disappoint me again," her voice delivering a statement and a threat.
"Ma'am... It seems that the squad has moved location." Blu pointed out as he observed the main screen.
"Where are they right now?"
"Ameritania Hotel."
"Okay, 36." Takara glanced at him, who was trying his best to recover from such treatment. "This'll be your chance to prove that you're not useless," she said, assigning him his next mission. "Make sure Uto suffers." Her usage of Georgine's nickname for Utopix in Otu's ears made him tremble, fully engaging into his armor.
The gang, unbothered by any of the events that had happened during that week, decided to sneak in one of the bedrooms at Ameritania Hotel, one of the most prestigious hotels in New York. They didn't complain... Georgine had done some very sketchy in the past: breaking into cars of her friends' exes, graffiting a bully's garage door, among other things.
"How come that they let us in?" Utopix watched the rain slipping down the window's glass.
"The receptionist's a friend of mine." Georgine replied, as if their presence wasn't a problem that could said person fired.
"Oh, that's cool!" Utopix united to the unbothered feeling that the others were in.
"So, why are we here exactly?"
"You kidding? Free food!" Gabriel cheered up, as Oliver was munching on a couple of chips from a big bowl.
Suddenly, a lightning stroke in the sky, catching Utopix's attention but also making him flinch. Georgine found it adorable. She'd assume that Sardkenof had a climate similar to Earth's, but it seemed that he was mostly bothered by the sound than anything else.
"It happens when it rains," she simply commented on it, placing a hand on his shoulder for reassurance.
"Well, it's horrible..." Utopix caressed his other arm in discomfort, despite feeling Georgine's.
"It doesn't have to be if you don't want it to." Georgine's fingers gently brushed his hand, meaning to intertwine said fingers with his.
"You look so adorable together!" Makena's head popped from underneath the sheets she was hiding in.
"Oh, shut up. We were too." Georgine objected, recalling the time that they used to share said feelings back in their youth.
"Earthlings date the same gender?" Utopix learned something new from their culture, to say the least.
"Yeah, but some are picky about it." Georgine added to said information.
But their heartfelt moment was interrupted by a blurry dark maroon sight from the other side of the window. "Uh, guys... Is that who I think it is?" Gabriel commented on it.
"Oh no..." Georgine instinctively placed her arm in front of Utopix, despite the other not having entered the building yet.
How horrid was it for Utopix to be able to contemplate Otu's smirk from afar, letting him know that something was going to be wrong, that something was going to happen. Either to him, or his new friends. As if called by a cue, Utopix's arms were wrapped around Georgine's chest to stop her from any sudden movement.
"Goddamn it. It's that punk again!" Georgine leaned against the window, bringing Utopix forward with her.
Makena's motherly nature kicked in. "Georgie, language!"
Takara thought that she had them all under her grasp, that she'd finally be crowned victorious after many weeks of wanting to eliminate what was, supposedly, left of the Jones family. But not just yet. Before Oliver could create any plan of defense, a big blast of lightning had hit the sky once again, making Utopix flinch yet again and refuge on Georgine's strong arms.
And suddenly... silence.
The gang took a better look at the sky from the window. Four of them knew what New York's weather was like, and it clearly wasn't like that. Seconds later, a minuscule purple light appeared on the center of gray cloudy sky, obliterating every piece of darkness 'round every corner in seconds.
"What in the name of the sweet heck is that!?" Gabriel shouted in both fear and excitement.
Oliver quickly jumped to a conclusion. Again. "It's a wormhole... A portal! Get out of here! Now!" He pressed a button on his smart watch; equipping Makena, Gabriel and Georgine with special gear that they had grabbed beforehand.
Georgine immediately scooped Utopix in her arms, running downstairs and to the hotel's entrance. As they joined the sea of people evacuating the hotel, the bright light shone brighter, vacuuming everything on its way. Cars, signs, trees... even people.
"Makena!" Georgine shouted in desperation, witnessing how her friends were lifted up into the sky and disappearing into the hole in the sky. Her feet meant to stick to the ground to the best of her ability, but a fire hydrant had prevented her from doing so.
"W-Where are we going!?" Utopix's eyes were closed, his hands gripped onto Georgine's back whenever he felt their weight being lighted. His eyes shredding tears, fearing what might happen next.
"Just... close your eyes." Georgine, out of options, embraced him closely as their bodies entered the purple-esque portal.
Otu observed in shock, until a dreadful voice in his communicator snapped him back to reality. "Well!? What are you waiting for, 36? Follow them!" Takara demanded from him, meaning to sacrifice him if it meant that the others had been obliterated by whatever there was in that portal. Hesitantly, but firmly, Otu rocketed from the roof he was standing on and onto the remaining waves of the terrifying portal.
And just like that, the portal was closed. As if someone had pulled a switch and turned it off... or more likely, a sword.
The tan-haired girl had waited for a light... a soft voice that'd wake her up saying 'Welcome to Heaven', or anything at all. Instead, her eyes had opened to a soft colored sky. Gentle chirps and water waves made her realize that she was somewhere else. A pair of blinks helped her double-vision adjust to a strange one-eyed creature that shouted once it notice that she was conscious to which she yelled and slapped it off, making it run off to the purple-tainted trees. "W-What is...?" her hands felt the sharp glass around her but also alerted her of something else. "Utopix... Uto! UTO!"
"G-Georgie!" Utopix's frighted voice cried out from one of the trees, holding onto one of its branches for dear life. "H-Help..."
"It's okay, baby. Just let go," her arms were open-wide to catch him in case he fell.
Utopix's eyes widened at the idea and immediately shook his head in disapproval. "H-Hmm!"
"It's okay, sweetie. I'll catch you, I promise."
"G-Georg-AH!!"
Without any more words escaping from his mouth, the branch decided to break. Thankfully, his loved one had catch him perfectly, avoiding any accidents. "Are you okay, lovely?" Her emerald eyes stared into his with an expression of I-told-you-so, nearly smirking at his reaction.
"D-Don't do that..."
"Do what? Hmm?" Her nose ran up his sensitive neck, occasionally peppering it with gentle kisses, making him giggle as a soft tone of green appeared on his cheeks.
"Utopix? Georgine?" Oliver grunted as he massaged his head from the rough landing. "W-What? Where are we?"
"OLIVER!" Gabriel ran up to him, hugging his sides, not wanting to let go. "I thought you were dead! I thought I was dead!"
"What the- uh! Let go of me!"
"Never!"
Georgine snickered at their somewhat-sweet reunion, placing Utopix to a side as she helped Makena get up from the strangely colored grass. "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yes... Where are we?"
"I have no idea," she clenched her fists as she observed the unntreathening space. "We better get moving."
Once again, Georgine scooped Utopix from the ground, keeping him close to her warm chest. "Sorry, I should've asked."
"N-No. It's okay. I-I like it."
Her voice lowly hummed, turning into a chuckle. Her face leaned once again near his, planting a kiss on his triangle-painted cheek. Once she started walking, the others followed closed by... not noticing who had followed them.
"36. State your location," Takara's face appeared on Otu's wrist communicator.
"Unknown." Otu quietly spoke. Probably one of the few times he was allowed to do so.
"If you survived, then that means they did too! Follow them and wait for instructions. Is that clear?"
Otu took a deep breath. Despite being born a few days ago, his opinion of Takara had quickly worsened with time. "Yes." He immediately ended their interaction, making sure to go unnoticed  as he sneaked around the shadows of the forest.
Eventually, the five individuals reached the entrance of the gorgeous golden castle, unsure of what to expect. "Halt there!" General Juliet stopped them from going any further. "What is your business in Bright Moon?"
"Bright Moon?" Georgine concluded that that's where they have ended up at.
"We just want to know what's going on," Makena kindly asked. "I don't think we're supposed to be here."
"Think!?" The guard seemed to nearly fly away when she flinched. "What is that even supposed to-?"
"Calm down, general." A shadowy figure approached the entrance, but didn't seem to change any of its appearance once it stepped into the light... Shadow Weaver. "I'll take it from here. You go fetch... Princess Glimmer." The general left after letting out a long sigh and doing as she was told. "I don't take orders from you. I shall look for Bow who can look for Glimmer with more ease." Shadow Weaver rolled her eyes upon her statement.
Georgine's trust pattern was instantly altered upon Shadow Weaver's attitude. The way she spoke, the manner of her walking, how her hair swung around like a sharpen knife... she had seen it all before. Her hands gently gripped Utopix's thigh and arm... once he felt it, he looked up at her, then at Shadow Weaver. A similar pattern had fallen onto him as well... oh, brother.
"I apologize for the unfelt welcoming, though I must ask... what brings you here so unexpectedly?" her dark eyes narrowed at that last word."I think we'll wait for the princess' arrival to discuss that matter," Georgine refrained from answering the question. Her hands kept Utopix even closer to her than ever.
"Very well, then. I suggest you wait in the throne room unless you wanna be seen by... unexpected guests." Shadow Weaver turned around, leaving them to their amusement.
Unexpected guests? Georgine then considered that there might have been something else in that region even worse than her... Not liked she trusted the other's jurisdiction, but she'd want to avoid any casualties for Utopix's sake, so she entered the palace after the others had gone in.
"Oh. My. Gosh." Bow nearly jumped on his toes as General Juliet gave him the news. "New people!? L-Like- what? Horde soldiers? Princesses?" he then gasped as an epiphany hit him. "What if they're here from a broken dimension and want to take our souls!?"
"Bow! Just go find the princess, please! Once we know what's going on with... them, I'll decide what to do."
"Okay!" he then stopped his tracks and turned around to see her. "...why are you making me get Glimmer and not you?"
"Just GO!" Juliet seemed to nearly spit fire at him.
After Bow finally snapped from his fanboying illusions, he breathed deeply before entering Glimmer's room, noticing Adora and Glimmer standing near each other... and rightfully so.
"Uh, guys...  there's some people here that I think you may want to meet."
trouble, thunder, and tears - Tyson Jost CO
Author notes: Hope you guys like it. Tell me if there are some grammar mistakes so I can correct, requests are open and feedback is always appreciated!
Word count: 1.322 (I swear I tried to do it small, but I *always* get carried away).
Request/prompt:  Could you write some fluff with Tyson Jost based on 14? (“I had a nightmare about you, and I wanted to make sure you were alright”)
Tumblr media
It was a typical Tuesday late afternoon to y/n. Closing the small library she worked at, gathering her college stuff and heading home to a warm bath, some notes about her essays and eventually a call from her boyfriend who had a schedule as busy as hers. However thanks to an unexpected heavy rain that night (which y/n refuses to call Storm) the library was closed early, so it would probably be a day - or night- off if it wasn’t for the weather inducing traffic in her way home.
When y/n got home it was almost the same time, as usual, she sent a text to Tyson wanting to know if he was done with the practice that night and ate dinner in the living room with her two roommates (Katharin and Lauren). Kate was an English grad student while Lauren was into the political science field the main reason why that night they were watching the channel news.
“Ty didn’t answer my text yet...actually he didn’t even receive it” y/n stated while chewing her lasagna.
“My wi-fi isn’t working very well...odd. Yours is working?” was Kate’s turn to speak.
Lauren rolled her eyes playfully.
“Ty is probably still at the rink and we need to pay de internet bill, maybe that’s the reason why it’s not working…”
“But it’s almost eleven” “I paid the bill yesterday” y/n and Kate spoke at the same time and when Lauren was about to answer the room went bright and then dark. The TV clicking off just like the light and the heater.
“Fuck, this rain is getting worse than I thought” Kate sighs.
Without so many distractions and tired enough y/n ends up napping in her couch, woking up only to the faint sound of thunder and remains of a nightmare with her boyfriend.
Kate and Lauren are still in the living room, but talking about some book they were reading, the power was still off.
“I’m gonna try to call Ty” y/n stands up.
She did, in fact, more than ten times, and she was getting no answer from his phone, nothing on his Instagram account and his teammates’. Lauren suggested calling Gabriel since he was most likely to be with Ty if eventually, they went to celebrate something - which was impossible since the city was chaotic, actually, by the time the clock points the city was empty. Slippery road, lots of lightning strikes and most of the malls already closed-.
She tried four times before Gabe answers.
“Gabriel?! It’s y/n, sorry for the time, you’re with Tyson?”
“Hey, y/n. I’m at home, actually, we got out of practice early today...the heavy rain you know...he’s probably at home.”
“oh...what time practice was over?”
“I guess it was before eight.”
“I’ve been calling him for an hour and he doesn’t get my texts…” she sighs receiving a worried look of her two friends.
“Let me try and I’ll text you if he answers me, maybe it’s the power...I mean, some houses around went off from power because of the rain.”
“Yeah, maybe...please text me if you reach him, and send kisses to Melissa”
She hung up and takes a deep breath.
“I’m worried, guys”
It’s only twenty minutes before she got a text from Gabriel telling that Tyson didn’t answer him as well, so he suggested that maybe he was without power too or stayed long at the rink since he was the last one to shower.
“It’s past midnight...I’m going to his home, maybe he fell from the stairs or...I don’t know, maybe he is needing me. I’m gonna make his usual way home, pass in front of the Ice Center, so if his car broke or...something I’ll be able to help” she states firmly. By the tone of her voice and the way her brows were furrowed her friends knew that she was decided to do it and nobody would be able to stop her.
“But y/n the rain still falling heavily and it’s not the best decision to drive at this wheater especially almost midnight!” Lauren tried to reason.
“I’m not gonna sit here and pretend everything is okay while my boyfriend is not giving a damn sign of life!”
Kate knew it was irrelevant to try to convince her friend to wait, also she comprehends her worry and chooses to have her back.
“Ok, fine, you go, but we’re gonna keep location on so we’re able to see if everything is alright and don’t lose track of you.”
“I love you!” she smiles while running to the door only to slip her shoes and hoodie on.
Y/n started the car and the girls were right, it was almost impossible to drive without worrying with something less than a meter of distance from the car glass. It was horrible to see through the heavy drops of rain, but she kept going, stopping in front of the Ice Center only to make sure that it was already closed. Y/n completed the route to Tyson’s house in record time considering the circumstances. She ran from her car to his door and ring the bell multiple times while the silence around the streets almost swallows her.
“Y/n?!” the door open showing a smashed face Tyson Jost, the bastard was probably sleeping while the fuck*ng world was ending.
“Thank god you’re ok! I was so worried!!” she groans taking another deep breath and coughing lightly with the cold outside air. “Why didn’t you answer your damn phone, Jost?!”
Before he could say something she was hugging him close, her heartbeat a mess just like her hair and her clothes wet because of the jog from the car to his door.
“You called?!” he arches his brows. “I’m so sorry, babe. Here, let’s get inside and change those clothes or else you’re gonna be sick”
She huffs but follows him stipping and ending up in his bedroom with one of her sleep shorts and a hoodie of his, the towel hanging around her neck preventing the strands of hair from trickling in the ground.
“I went to the library to get you home because of the rain, but it was already closed and then I headed home, but there was this car accident of something in the road and it took me more than expected to get home. I was about to call when my power went off and my phone died, so I ended up sleeping, I’m so sorry, babe”
Y/n sighs shaking her head, but Tyson was able to see her eyes shed some tears.
“Hey, hey, what’s up?”
“I had a nightmare about you, and I wanted to make sure you were alright” he reaches for her body bringing his girl to his lap while rubbing her back. “I was so worried, I thought you got into a car crash or were hit by lightning!”
“You wanna talk about this nightmare?” Tyson asks softly backing up just enough to look into her eyes.
Y/n shakes her head no.
“It’s okay. It was really dangerous for you to drive here in this weather and…”
“You would’ve done the same, shut up” she rolls her eyes and he smiles at her demeanor.
“You’re right, I would”
y/n rests her head in the crock of Tyson’s neck and feels his beard trickle a little her cheeks. She was missing him so much, his scent, his voice, his hair...their busy schedules were not helping, maybe every day’s rush was part of the reason for the nightmare.
She was almost sleeping when he throws the blanket in their bodies and just when a rumble of thunder strikes she hear his voice whispering "I love you” and so y/n knew that this time no nightmare was going to happen.
