the funny thing about ghost trick is you meet sissel and he has the most asshole-looking design known to man, like he just LOOKS gaudy and irritating, and then he subverts expectations by being chill as hell. and then that subversion is subverted when we find out no, that's not sissel, sissel is a cat, and the guy with this appearance is in fact a raging asshole who says shit like "whatsa matter" and "smart". exactly what you'd expect

Been having some more Ghost Trick thoughts 👻🧠
🚨SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT DO NOT LOOK IF YOU HAVEN’T PLAYED IT🚨
Thinkin’ about that scene in the Chief’s office after you visit Jowd for the first time; the one where you see the security footage of Lynne being manipulated into shooting Yomiel’s shell.
I know not all characters react to Ghost Tricks being performed right in front of them, but it always felt a little weird to me that Cabanela doesn’t react at all when you lower the projector screen and watch the security footage.
In that moment, did he think the Manipulator was in the room with them? Did he think it was Yomiel, here to taunt him by flaunting the footage of him making Lynne into a murderer? I had previously read his non-reaction as Cabanela assuming it had malfunctioned or something, but now I wonder if he was holding back, making sure he didn’t give Yomiel the satisfaction of seeing his distress.
Man I love Ghost Trick. Every time I replay it, the knowledge of the ending gives so many scenes new context.
Anyway; if any of y’all have thoughts on this, I’d love to hear them.

okay but the relationship between yomiel and sissel makes me so insane, and it's so hard to explain, because, like, it's a guy and his cat. what's so compelling about that? but just...everything about them is so incredible.
imagine your selfishness killed your only friend. the only living creature who was there for you died as a direct result of your vengeful actions. you've killed the only thing connecting you to your humanity.
imagine seeing him wearing your face, assuming your identity. imagine the PAIN you must feel. you've corrupted this innocent creature. can you imagine the horror you would feel, that this pure soul is now living in your horrible skin? wouldn't you feel so guilty, that he must carry the burdens of your identity? despite all the years you've spent blaming others for your own mistakes, in this moment, wouldn't you realize you hate yourself? and that your friend does not deserve the fate of being you?
and imagine you can speak to him. you can speak to this cat, your only friend for a DECADE of lonesome, torturous existence. and imagine he is kind. he is kind, and gentle, and forgives you. he understands your pain, because he was listening all along. no one knows you as well as he does. he is your best friend, through and through. and he will love you in every universe.
it's just...so...indescribable. people weren't lying when they said this game is a masterpiece.
