both are drastically different but also the same in some aspects of wanting to be alive, and i find that heart wrenching.

loving your ghost au and you’re welcome for mentioning that the reader reminds wilbur of the sun<33 just the thought of when you grow cold or warm, wil just loves feeling your hands because of how body temperatures changed: and how he genuinely forgot how it does change.

No no! They really are similar in ways- I just don’t want people thinking I’m trying to make Wilbur, ghostbur, in a way. But yeah they are similar in many ways-

Like he’s always cold now- so feeling your warm hands- my man is glowing. He loves it. He feels like he’s bathing in the sun right then and there.

Like he’s just- “why do you feel like me? Are you dead?! What happened?!” :(( my boy is so scared- he starts panicking and like trying to warm you up. He’ll place you on the couch and place as many blankets on you as he has too to make you warm again. And if you don’t- he’ll start crying. He just wants you to be warm again.

about one third of the bots were unspecified, meaning they were either unwilling or unable to disclose their orientation. after that, most cwilburs self identified as bisexual. love that for them

there are so so many nsfw roleplay bots. heaven help us all

the ghostburs had a lot more character in their responses and a handful had more specific responses like ace or pan, or an in depth evaluation of their orientation. most of the bots that weren't as fine tuned either went unspecified or defaulted to straight, so it seems like the ghostburs are programmed with a bit more detail on average. ghostbur lovers represent

the highest scored bot with a score of 16 is an asexual ghostbur. I don't really know how the scores on the app are calculated but let's give it up for ace ghostbur 👏👏

the first of the lowest scored bots with a score of 2 was also an asexual ghostbur. so there's that. followed up by a bisexual cwilbur who immediately called me a slur

my most unique encounter by far was an early conversation with a ghostbur, who seems to somehow suffer from intense internalized homophobia. this was before i started surveying properly so i did just try to peer pressure him into being bi lmao. pictured below:

A drabble of Dream thinking about Wilbur while walking with Ghostbur. Exile arc implied to be happening, so fair warning. Cut for length.

Dream can't forget, no matter how hard he tries.

He watches Ghostbur float around that silly little sheep that he'd returned to him and tried not to scowl. The ghost gets to forget. Why? Why does the spectre get to move on? It hurts. But what's worse is the ghost only forgetting things that happened when Wilbur'd been unhappy. And, oh Prime, does that sting.

He doesn't get to forget.

He doesn't forget Wilbur's voice, the way his accent would somehow change when he was in an alright mood. How he would always mock the Brit's accent when he was feeling difficult. And how when Wilbur would laugh, it always rang out sharp and clear, like a song Dream wanted to memorize.

He can't forget midnight breakdowns in which it could be either one of them seeking the other out. Wilbur had been the first to come to him after a particularly strenuous day, and Dream had sat by and listened as the other vented. And then the other'd begun to return the favor. It had been almost natural to go find the ex-president when he was feeling particularly upset.

He can't forget whispered promises. He can't forget hands on his back. He can't forget the coin in his pocket. He can't forget lips pressed to his cheek, soft and sweet, and riddled with goodbyes he only sees in hindsight. He can't forget, and it's not fair.

"I quite like you Dream," the ghost speaks into the silence. He tries not to trip over his feet as he's snapped out of the bitter train of thought.

"Oh? Is that so?"

"Mmhmm! You brought me Friend again. You're very kind to me. And you laugh very loudly when I play fun songs. And you're always coming to visit me and Tommy!"

"Wait, back up. What?"

"I like you a lot, " Ghostbur repeats, floating a ways ahead.

"No, I mean. The songs? "

"Oh yes, you always like my music! I should play for you again soon. Friend would like that, wouldn't you, Friend?"

He doesn't respond. He doesn't trust his voice not to crack with emotion if he dares to ask what else Ghostbur thinks of him. Ghostbur is not Wilbur. Not quite. Not enough for Dream and his unresolved mess of emotions.

He may love the ghost more than he'd like to admit. But, he can't help preferring the original Wilbur, in all his messy, muddied glory.

He'll get him back someday. And then the whole server will be together again. He doesn't care if he has to ruin himself for that to happen.

For now, he accepts the blue offered to him without a word.
