Soap did not remember this video store. He’s passed by this street hundreds of times— surely… he would’ve seen it. Then again, maybe heartbreak makes you see the world differently. The clerk hands him a member card with a smile, and a promise that they’d have what he needed.

Yeah, he was doubting that. He didn’t recognize any of these titles. But something catches his eye– a girl on the cover of a VHS. One that’s just his type– a cute face, a gorgeous body, and a teasing little smile.

He turns the lights off in his room, slotting the tape into the VCR. It makes a kinda clunky, scary noise but eventually loads up the movie. It’s got a production logo like it’s softcore porn, which it very well could be– that’s what you get for picking by the cover without reading the back. Not that he’d mind if it was.

The girl from the cover appears on the screen, just as radiant. Maybe more, now that she’s in motion. Her laugh sounds like bells– gentle, sweet, innocent.

“Thank you. Thank you for choosing my video! Oh, why do you look so sad?” What was this, some sort of girlfriend experience type of thing?

 “Oh, I see, unrequited love is it? Don’t let it get you down though, okay? They just don’t understand you. You’ve got a lot to offer another person. I know I’m not much, but. How would you feel about letting me be the one to cheer you up?”

Video girl’s got him right pegged. Though he supposes it's not an uncommon reason to rent a flick with a hot girl on the cover. He sighs. Her expression softens even more in sympathy, her eyebrows drawn in as she pouts on his behalf.

“ I see...it’s that bad huh...? Poor guy, there’s no way just a video is gonna help you…” Ain’t that the truth? Terrible way to get him to rent more tapes, though. An epiphany seems to strike the girl, and a smile spreads over her face.

“That’s it! I’ll stay with you for as long as it takes!”

Imagine being the girl from a video Soap rented while wallowing in his feelings. Rejected by Simon, for reasons he doesn’t understand. They got along so well– different from the other guys. But then again, judging from how Simon looks at Price whenever he steps into the room… Maybe he does know why he was rejected.

When you come from the screen, Johnny’s surprised none of his neighbors call the cops, because he screams bloody murder.

You vow to help him… to help him be less lonely. To help him get the guy he wants. For the one month that his rental lasts, at least.

When you meet the guys, Soap is able to put together some lie about you being a friend of his sister who’s staying with him while you’re in town.

It’s just your luck that Ghost has a sixth sense. Man knows there’s something strange about you. The otherworldly knows the otherworldly.

And to make matters worse… You’re supposed to be a world-class lover. A teasing, minxy girl who knows just how to make a man fall over himself and beg for more without breaking a sweat. Or, you would be– if you hadn’t been played on a broken VCR.

Now you’re so damned timid. Incredibly sensitive, shy, stuttering whenever you make eye contact with any guy that isn’t Soap. And to Ghost, it’s like smelling blood in the water.

He’s constantly cornering you, chatting you up, trying to fluster you. He hardly knows he’s doing it, sniffing you out and trying to get you to crack. Quite frankly, you’re doing a terrible job of getting the two of them together.

And when Soap sees this all happening… He feels like he’s supposed to be jealous of you. He is–but it isn’t just that. He’s jealous of both of you… and at the same time, seeing you together seems so natural-- and it turns him the fuck on.

I'm gonna be a little bitch for a second GOD it's so so so fucking exhausting being a non USAmerican online. Like. Jesus fucking christ the levels of defaultism are just,,,, god. The 'default' audience for every post is Americans. American pop culture is universal obviously, and god forbid you bring up a show from your own country because no ones ever watched that! The millions of kids in your country don't count clearly. When American places are mentioned it's always Town, State, Country, but when anywhere else is mentioned you're lucky to get State, Country, or the closest major city if you're really lucky. Fahrenheit and MM/DD/YY and American spellings dominate even though they're the only country that uses them. People constantly talk about how x and y 'breaks the law'. They mean American laws, because those are obviously universal. American news and American politics are everywhere. You *have* to care about this. If you don't, you're a monster. The only time my country makes it is when we're literally burning to the ground, and even then they don't even touch the political side of things. Even international incidents somehow get brought back to America - call your representative (I dont have one). Go to these protests (they're on the other side of the world). Sign this petition (it's for US residents only). Im going to go insane.

a/n: midnight inspo goes hard.

synopsis: Simon is eepy and gets home from a grueling work month. you know how he likes his night home, and do everything you can so he's comfy.

Simon, him and his disgruntled self, hastily unlock the door to get inside.

To get home.

He's physically ready to collapse, but he can't. He drops his heavy bag by the door, and pulls his mask off and hangs it. Christ, he's tired.

He shuffles over to the room, the one that holds you, his love. You're very asleep, soft snores bouncing off the walls. He quietly stripped and changed into his clothes.

His clothes that meant home.

He went back out to the kitchen, searching through the fridge for any food, anything would be better than rations and Soaps horrible attempts at anything better. He finds a glass container with a sticky note.

Here si-bear! Welcome home baby. It's your favorite.

He sighs thankfully, glancing to your shared room. To say he's grateful is definitely and understatement. He sinks into the familiar chair at the island, and waits quietly as his food heats up. The warmth of the house is amazing. He feels calm so quickly, he's confused why he leaves every so often when this could be his always.

The microwave beeps, and he stands up to grab his food. He swirls around the food in the glass bowl and he eats quietly, his backside against the counter.

Fuck it's so good.

Once done, he puts his bowl in the sink. Of course he washes it, he's not putting anything on you.

His walk back to his mess of his bags and sighs, going though it all so he can put it away and finally just.. Sleep.

The floorboards creak as you make an appearance behind him. Too exhausted to get all excited and worked up, you opted to drop next to him and curl into his arms, breathing him in even if he was sweaty.

Simon jumped slightly, before easing his arms around you.

"Hi, sweet'art. God, I miss you.." He kissed your head, and then your temple. You nodded tiredly, mumbling about how you'd clean up his mess if he just laid down now..

"Come on, Si.. You're so tired.." You stood, and took his hands, pressing it to your cheek. He laughed quietly, and stood.

"I think that's jus' you, baby.. But I'm comin', swet'art." He followed your hold, and he found himself back in his happy place.

In your shared bed, in your arms, you in his. Your soft snores reverberate in his chest, as you quickly passed out, leaving him chasing sleep. He doesn't mind though. It's your routine.

Well, more like 'our routine', you call it.

I like the idea that Danny is a little WEIRDO about sex. Doesn't need it but whenever he gets turned on somethings gotta get done about it.
