ok but lets go back a bit to the past... what was the poly!chil reaction after knowing they were having a babygirl

Ahri waited to tell them until they came back from tour. When she did tell them:

- Johnny was over the moon. He was going to be happy either way. But now that they knew they were having a girl, for whatever reason all of his anxieties were beginning to fade. Instead of staying up on the couch, losing sleep over what bad things could happen, he would go find Ahri in whosever room she was sleeping in, and he’d sit and place his hand on her belly while watching her sleep. He thought it was funny whenever the baby got hiccups or started kicking. Like, “Yeah, you’re dad’s here, I’m sorry for waking you, baby girl. Just sleep so your mom doesn’t wake up too.”

- Taeyong leader mode kicks into gear around the boys. He gets so much stricter because he’s like “we’re expecting a little girl, we must protect her with our lives, SO LOCK IN” and the boys are just like “when’s he leaving again? I want to stop waking up at the crack of dawn…….” Tae helps Doyoung baby proof the house. He’s also very clingy with Ahri because he knows his time with her is limited and he hates that there’s nothing he can do to stay longer and help properly with their daughter.

- Yuta is super casual about it, cuz again, he’s got the “whatever happens, happens” attitude UNTIL Reyna’s born, and then he’s locked in. So a girl is cool. Is it a son…… nah…. He kinda wished it was a boy so he could raise a rockstar…… OK BUD SAYS THE ONE WHO SPOILS REYNA THE MOST AND STILL RAISED A ROCKSTAR??? Get this dude OUTTA HEREEEEE ✋

- Doyoung you best believe he’s redesigning one of the rooms to be their daughter’s new room when she’s older (They decide not to have a nursery for the sake of space, but when she’s older she’s obviously going to need her own room, so Doyoung is stepping up as interior designer). He goes to IKEA in search of the cribs, changing tables, high chairs, etc. He goes to the mall to pick up loads and loads of baby toys. He’s so happy to be having a baby girl, he wants to make sure everything is ready for her arrival, even though she isn’t due for…….another couple months….. Ugh, she needs to come faster or he’s going to lose his mind missing her— And he doesn’t even know her yet!

- Jaehyun.. He’s a dad no matter what, but I think some small part of him was hoping for a boy who could pass on the family name, even though it wouldn’t be his family name….. But a girl is good. A girl is still very good. He knows the second he hears that it’s a girl that he’s going to do everything in his power to always protect her and make sure she has the best life possible. He doesn’t want her to need anything in life because she’ll already have it- And if there’s something new she wants, he’ll get it for her. He swears as he’s up late on night, staring at Ahri’s belly that he’s going to be the best dad in the entire world.

- Jungwoo is like “woah…….. my daughter’s in there?” And he pokes Ahri’s belly 😂 He doesn’t quite know what to do with a girl, but he’s trying to reassure himself that it’ll work out.

- Mark - A girl………. Well shit. A girl. What does he do with a girl? How does he raise a girl? What if he fucks her up by accident? What if he’s going to be the worst dad in the world????? He doesn’t want to think about it. Any of it.

- Haechan is the HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH!!! A GIRL! OH YESSSS! He wanted a girl so so so so bad, because he can spoil her, be silly goofy with her, and never worry about being too strict because his pretty princess daughter is NEVER going to lift a finger on his watch. Oh, she wants orange juice? HES GOT IT. She wants a new place set? HE’LL BUY IT. Actually, in canon, after they return from tour and find out they’re having a girl, Haechan is the most clingy (bros hoping ahri’ll let him suck on her tits lowkey, but that’s besides the point rn) …….and as he’s laying on her legs one day, facing her belly, he just rubs it gently and finally says what’s been weighing on his mind, “I’m going to quit Dream so I can be here with you two more often.” That sparks some arguments in the coming weeks/months, ngl. Ahri and Mark don’t want him to leave Dream because they know how important those boys are to Hyuck, but he always insists that Ahri and their daughter is farrrrrr more important. Mark, Taeyong, and the Dreamies coordinate an intervention before Hyuck can go to the execs about it, and he’s convinced to stay, but it lowkey breaks his heart because he knows he’s giving up time with his daughter just to be too busy making music, doing promos, and going on tour.
