Gcore and Ezditek Launch Joint Venture to Accelerate Building, Training, and Deploying AI Solutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

 The joint venture will provide high-performance AI infrastructure optimized for advanced AI workloads while maximizing efficiency, productivity, and sustainability

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 19, 2024 – Gcore, the global edge AI, cloud, network, and security solutions provider, and Ezditek, an innovator in data center and digital infrastructure services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), have launched a joint venture focused on providing high-performance AI infrastructure in the KSA. The joint venture will develop an ‘AI factory’, which can be used for building, training, and deploying generative AI solutions locally and across the globe.

The joint venture brings together Gcore’s expertise in cloud-based AI infrastructure and Ezditek’s innovative approach to sustainable and AI-centric data center design and build. Customers can match each security policy to the particular service they want to safeguard by attaching it to one or more backend services or virtual machines (VMs).

Additionally, deep packet inspection is carried out by Google Cloud Armor on incoming traffic to stop policy-violating activity. Clients can set up a security policy rule that, when combined with other filters, examines each incoming packet based on a user-specified TCP/UDP byte offset location filter.

Every incoming packet is assessed and subject to Cloud Armor security regulations at Google Cloud’s network edge, much upstream of client equipment. Our network’s size and reach enable Google Cloud to securely absorb and disperse massive attacks with the least amount of disruption to client infrastructure.

Together with additional clients and the EA Product Infrastructure and Engineering division, these new bespoke network edge security policies were created. The Cloud Armor team tested and refined the proposed service during the development period. The end product is a strong tool that enables EA Sports FC to enhance their DDoS protection and design security policies that are specific to their requirements.

CATO: Buttered Cat - The Meme turned into a Fun Game

CATO: Buttered Cat the puzzle platformer game for Mac and Windows PC incoming but Linux port delayed. Thanks to the creative minds at Team Woll. Due to release this week on Steam. Ever since the Buttered-Cat paradox meme hit the internet, we've all wondered what it would be like if it was real. Well, wonder no more because Team Woll, a great indie duo, has turned this meme into a title called CATO: Buttered Cat. A cat that always lands on its feet plus toast that always lands buttered-side down equals one quirky, fun puzzle platformer.

We do have plans to release a Linux version, but unfortunately, we encountered some technical issues while building the Linux version...but the native build now works on Steam Deck. By the way, we're using the Unity engine for development.

Team Woll mentioned they’ll tackle these issues later. The technical glitches stem from using Wwise audio middleware, but since they’re using Unity, Proton might be a good workaround until the native build drops. Plus, the demo already runs smoothly on Steam Deck.

On the evening of August 24th, Steam, the world's largest gaming platform, encountered severe technical problems, causing domestic and foreign players to be unable to log in normally. This incident quickly became a hot topic on social media. Although some players speculated that this failure was caused by the excessive number of online players of the recently popular game "Black Myth: Wukong", according to the official statement of the PWA (Perfect World Arena) platform, in fact, Steam suffered a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack.

Since its release on August 20th, "Black Myth: Wukong" has quickly become a phenomenal game.
