also apparently forgot to post p2ponies 😞… sorry !! orz
(cutie mark rambles below~)
i always think crazy hard about cutie marks they are like my #1 stressor when it comes to ponies……. so here’s why i chose certain cutie mark designs !!
also i tried really hard to make sure they all shared some colours , especially making sure to include each others’ colours !! i wanted to have the original masked circle all have a star somewhere (BC.astrology or something…) LOL , maya sort of stands out both in colours and cutie mark , but that was on purpose !!
tatsuya: his was 100% the easiest to come up with . it’s gotta be his lighter !!! not only is it like His Thing but also very much representative of the bonds with his friends , as well as everything that got them into the events of IS … both in the game and here , the lighter is a symbol of both destruction/power and connection/creation !! which really fits tatsuya :] you can also think of it being like he “lights the way” !! the little teal star is in lieu of the little prince quote , and it’s kinda clear who this star is meant to represent ;U
jun: THIS ONE TOOK FOREVER TO DRAW . my issue was i had an idea , but couldn’t figure out how to make it work !! i wanted to include both flowers and a shooting star and fought 1 million battles trying to figure it out….
i wanted to include a shooting star for many reasons !! stars obviously for jun’s love of stars , but also because the shooting star is a symbol of something to follow (like Jun making himself a leader/savior as joker) as well as being representative of wishes and dreams (which is joker’s whole thing !!) !!! i wanted to add 4 forget-me-nots for both the obvious meaning of memory and his love of flowers , but also to mimic other stars and represent both masked circles he was involved in ! i love jun if you can’t tell
lisa: though this one looks simple it actually was pretty thought-out !! i wanted to figure out a way to both have her love of kung fu and role as an idol represented , which led me to these sort of boom-flash symbols ! these symbols are meant to be representative of her personality (feisty and explosive, but also fascinating and even lovely !) as well as what i said earlier , both of her paths~ they can be read as punch SFX , as well as the flash of cameras/lights on stage !! they’re pretty simple , but i feel like they pack a lot of punch (LOL)~!!
maya: the standout girlie of the whole bunch !! i immediately had the sort of idea for an intersection of heart/moon , and came up with this ! the heart is for ahh.. reasons most people know , but also she’s just associated with hearts in general (think mr bunbun) !! they obviously are related to her compassion and big heart , and if we want to have a sort of more darker and serious inspection of it.. how she’s the heart of her friend group and the loss of that heart (literal and figurative , in many instances) makes everything fall apart .. i also wanted to include the moon for her association with the moon (and Artemis !) , which also serve to show her duality and antithesis to the heat and light of the tatsuyas ! i like to think the EP cast’s colours would be more based around her cutie mark colours , like how IS were all based around each others’ !!
eikichi: i struggled with this one the most & i think it’s obvious.. U~U; .. i wanted to , again , make a symbol that’s not too complex , but is able to encapsulate so many different elements of a character ?! i ended up coming up with this skull (for his association with death/self proclaimed title as the “death boss”) and rocker/vkei/darker alternative aesthetics in general~ the starry eyes are BC welll…! star ! and also because it’s like he’s “starry-eyed” and looking towards the future :] the little glowy shine thing is meant tp be a spotlight , like he’s in the spotlight ! maybe one day I’ll come up with soemthing better , sorry eikichi , i love you ! 😞💦
Okies that’s all !! hope you like my cutie mark rambles , i love explaining my thoughts !!! ^7^

Higurashi When They Cry Hou Ch. 8 Matsuribayashi pt. 76
Really this was a silly thing for Rika to think they would do. Why on earth would Okonogi or Takano keep their word when their plan is to kill literally everybody in Hinamizawa? It’s only just now hit me, months later, who the twenty odd people who disappeared at the end of Tatarigoroshi were. Wild shot in the dark here, I’m assume it’s the Mountain Dogs who were disguised as Irie Clinic employees.
The martial arts otaku from Watanagashi! I deceived you this whole time, they’re back! To protect the forces of moe! And you know who they’re being led by?
That’s right! Yukikazu Kameda! Think about it! Who else exists in the narrative of the series who is so dedicated to the pursuit of cuteness and all things moe? Yukikazu “Cake Fetishist” Kameda! (For some reason they changed his name as well. He was previously named Koichi, guess they changed it cause it was so close to Keiichi?)
Weird translation mistake, but what are you gonna do?
Someone saw the doujins I see.
Oh.
I lied, it’s actually the biker gang saving Rika. I like to imagine during the protests at the Child Protective Service in Minagoroshi the biker delinquents and the martial arts otaku were there as well. Then during Watanagashi, and now here during the final battle, Hanyuu gave them a big motivational speech, and like a Persona game the biker delinquents are now ready to take a deathblow for Rika.
In the context of the universe of Higurashi I wonder why it is now on the one hundredth year of Rika reliving June 1983 Akasaka was able to shift back then? In the other timelines did he never once reflect back on meeting Rika in 1978, and all that entails? Thinking about it more, is this the Akasaka from the future of Himatsubushi? Part of me wants to say the one from Tsumihoroboshi, but I believe those two are entirely different Akasakas (the one in Tsumihoroboshi mentions the Tokyo Subway Terrorist attacks, and that happened in 1995).
Whereas the Akasaka in Himatsubushi began investigating the Great Hinamizawa Disaster with Ooishi starting in 1985. Then the Fragment from earlier implied the Akasaka who got brought back in time was from 198X. Does it really just come down to the fact that somehow across the myriad timelines he never properly mourned his wife, and lamented Rika’s death at the same time so Hanyuu was powerless to bring him back? Once again I’m curious about the metaphysical implications of this time power of Hanyuu, and I am fully aware this doesn’t matter (“But Saikoroshi-” Saikoroshi doesn’t have to contend with that, and you damn well know that). With Rika whenever she comes back to life she seems to take over the body of the Rika who is alive in 1983. So how do you think it works with Akasaka? Akasaka isn’t dead at any point in 1983, that we see. So do the versions of Akasaka basically just switch spots on the timeline? Is there now a thoroughly confused Akasaka in the future of 198X? Maybe that’s why Akasaka seemed different at the end of Tsumihoroboshi than when he was in Himatsubushi.
It’s downright comical the lengths it goes to to claim that people are alright after receiving horrible injuries. Guy will get thrown face first into a woodchipper but the text will go “he somehow slipped between the blades and emerged alright.”
I’m not saying that I want or need there to be a pile of bodies laying at Akasaka’s feet, but it’s just funny to me it’ll mention his armor piercing like punches but the Mountain Dogs are just sitting there slumped over with a comical ring of stars over their head. They should really just go the distance and say the Mountain Dogs he’s taken out flashed briefly before disappearing.
The Mountains Dogs being behind the kidnapping back in Himatsubushi is now hard confirmed. Well, hard confirmed again, for the third time. Looking at Okonogi there reminded me of a thing I had heard once about martial arts films, the reason so many actors in kung fu films have long hair is to sell the impact of the attacks used against the actors. Since there’s so much more hair on display you can use it to show off the impact of a strike better than with a short haired actor. Of course that doesn’t really apply to this since this is all single image, and no actual motion is shown for the action scenes. Still, it was just a thing I remembered all of a sudden.

Hi, it's me again!
Do you know if there's a playlist somewhere of what music the Coffee Gang would listen to?
I feel like maybe a few artists were mentioned in the comics from what I've read so far, but I wonder if you had an inkling/headcanon/any idea what the characters would enjoy.
... Now that I'm thinking about it, the weird temporality of comics might make this an issue...
Oh this is a super fun question which I have no ready-made answer for. (If anyone reading this does have a playlist made or opinions on the subject, share 'em in the notes!)
Going by the comics timeline, I'd start with late 60s/early 70s rock and disco hits. MJ seems the most tuned into new music by way of youth culture and dance venues. Stuff by the Beatles, Beach Boys, Monkees, the Foundations, the whole top 40s list. (ASM #45/130)
Emphasis on female solo acts, maybe: MJ pulls an Aretha Franklin album from Peter & Harry's shelf, and I bet she likes Nancy Sinatra. Wherever she goes, the first thing she does is often to turn on some tunes. For the most part, she's the group tastemaker.
As for Peter, I'm guessing this ask was prompted by ASM 136:
It's a running joke that being Spidey keeps him a decade behind [current date] pop culturally. Ella Fitzgerald's career dates back to the 30s; I like to think that most of Peter's music taste + collection is inherited from Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Though humorously cynical nerd Pete might've had time to latch onto Tom Lehrer pre spider-bite, the way some modern high schoolers have a Weird Al phase.
The Osborn-Parker record collection is probably mostly Harry's, covering similar cultural territory to MJ's tastes. Maybe there's a never-opened Wagner opera in there courtesy of Norman. The girl on the cover of Hip Hug-Her always reminds me of Gwen, but I have no idea where her music taste might go. Movie soundtracks, maybe?
ASM 151 has notes on JJJ's music collection, of all people: Guy Lombardo, good lord. (And Mantovani is an orchestra conductor.)
Flash is a bit mysterious because his background took a while to fill in. In the far future of ASM 574, he listens to Tom Waits on Peter's recommendation. I was kind of nursing the headcanon that his dad kept Johnny Cash around the house and referred it to the only music for real men left in the world but rarely played any of it, until Flash got around to listening on his own and to his surprise really emotionally connected with it and reclaimed it into his own music taste...
In any case, there's a bit of music still left once Gwen leaves the scene. Kung Fu Fighting is PeterMJ's song, for one.
One of the last big nights out of the classic era is to the disco in SSM 24! This delightfully camp villainous music group is unfortunately not available on any music platforms, but KC and the Sunshine Band, the Bee Gees, the Jacksons and the Trammps certainly are.
And finally, based on this random panel whose issue I've forgotten, I like to think MJ got everyone into new wave at some point. The B-52s, Talking Heads and the Waitresses have reminded me of her. I also think her modeling connections would introduce her to the NYC weird art scene of that era, like Klaus Nomi, Grace Jones, and Laurie Anderson. By that time it would mostly be the Watson-Parker music taste, though.
Well, that's a whole lot of links to individual songs and not a coherent playlist at all, but I wanted to cover as many different bands/eras/ideas as I could work in. I'm sure I missed some though.
#ok HERE'S weird trivia: the Aretha album in ASM 130 didn't exist when that issue came out#but a compilation album by that name did come out in 1980. seven years later#coffee bean gang#comics#olivertxt

Zootopia 2 Hopes & Predictions
With Zootopia 2 announced, I wanna share some things I want to see, some things I would love to see but don't think will be shown, some things I don't want to see, and some other predictions.
• Unrealistic Hopes
- Bogo and Clawhauser confirmed as/becoming a couple - Bucky and Pronk directly confirmed as husbands in canon (and not just hinted at) - Reptiles and avians - Nick is bi - Jack Savage - Finnick speaking roles (since his voice actor, Tommy Lister Jr., passed away in 2020) - Jack Black voicing a panda as a clear nod to Kung Fu Panda but the character has absolutely no similarity to Po other than species - Some sort of reference/nod to The Bad Guys
• Wants
General - More Gideon Grey -- More of Gideon's new relationship with Stu and Bonnie - Learning Mrs. Otterton's first name - Learning Bogo's first name -- Learning Bogo's backstory - More Mr. Manchas - Nick's family - Mr. Otterton speaking role - Explanation as to how sloths function in a society like this - Judy Big (Fru Fru's child) - More Sam (the otter from Zootopia+) - Lore of Zootopia's founding - Canon confirmation that predators get their necessary meat-based proteins from insect-based foods - Continued inclusion of adult-based humor - Michael Giacchino doing the score again Characters & Species [Note: I know some of these species are already included in Zootopia 1 but I just wanna see more of those] - More rabbits and foxes as characters in the background - Deer - Bears (that aren't polar bears) - Equines - Hares - Goats - Cows & Bulls - Guinea pigs - Llamas - Camels - Bison - Hyenas - Ferrets - Uncommon* mammals (capybaras, chinchillas, anteaters, African wild dogs, meerkats, etc.) - Nice sheep - Tiger side character (with a speaking role) [* Uncommon in terms of typical animal-based things] Locations - More Bunnyburrow (especially the towns & buildings) - Judy's home - Deeper exploration into Sahara Square - Deeper exploration into the Rainforest District - Places (like Bunnyburrow) that are around Zootopia but not actually part of it - Shadier, seedier underground-type places - A mall - A movie theater - More of the museum - Spaces built mainly for large mammals like elephants and rhinos, as a sort of contrast to Little Rodentia
• Unwants
- Humans in any capacity - Deaths (especially of main characters like Nick and side characters like Judy's parents, Finnick, or Gideon) - Gideon becoming antagonistic again - Nick and Judy somehow having kids - More copoganda - Chris Pratt voicing a character - James Corden voicing a character - Any reference to bitcoin/NFTs - Any use of AI-generated art or voices
• Maybe-wants?
[I'm on the fence about whether I'd like to see these or not] - Explanation as to how domestic dogs and cats exist in this universe (which they do, or at least cats) - Explanation as to why there are no avians, reptiles, or marine mammals - Some inclusion of the scrapped shock-collar plotline - Explanation as to how ice cream is made - Lore of Zootopia's universe (like how animals evolved to become sapient and anthropomorphic)
• Predictions
- Nick and Judy will have another falling out but will get back together - Bogo and Clawhauser will be heavily included again - Bonnie and Stu will be side characters again - Finnick will be seen but won't have any sort of major role - The story won't be as good or topical as the first but the writing will be on-par - The story will be set either very soon after the first movie or a couple years later; it won't be too far in the future. - Nick and Judy will remain cops at the end of the movie - Zootopia+ will be referenced at least once - Flash will appear again
Sorry for the long post, I'm just thinking about the possibilities a lot.
I'd love to hear your opinions, wants, predictions, etc.!

[S] STRIFE!
Ha ah! Halloween season jumpscare~ You thought you'd seen the last of me (and this liveblog)!
This 'fight' is funny and laughable. It isn't really to be taken seriously. DAD lighting the candles on the cake can be seen as threatening (and dangerous!) if you was none the wiser that is. It's the boy's birthday, and his dad is aggressively celebrating it. Makes me wonder if strifing really is a custom in Homestuck, or if it's specific for the universes that will play SBURB/SGRUB. Whichever is the case, it's a mock battle is this situation. Or perhaps ageing IS threatening to John. Adulthood (or rather adolescence here) is a scary thing.
Colors, logic, art appreciation
I can't stop appreciating the art style and the dedication to its scarce (for now) details.
Like here, the very moment the candles are lit the flames go bworh! (damn and all at once?)
That's a transition frame, right? So neat. The nuance between the predominant black and white style and the colors is well-done. Less is more. The 'STRIFE!' logo thingy appears (two colors, kinda echoing to the candles. Flames = threat; but also Rochefoucault's quote from earlier?! hmm thoughts for later) and we have a brand new concept shown to us: Strife options. Aggrieve and abjure. By the way neon green and sky blue goes well together, it almost hints at John's and Jade's exchanged colors duality. Color theory is great once you get the hang of it! Aggrieving is offending someone. Rather than a physical attack, it suggest an emotional one. "I don't want your overwhelming love dad, or your stupid cake". Something among those lines. Also, he's such a dork making those movements with his hands. It looks like pseudo kung fu moves. He attacks and a lot more green appears on screen. Freakin' love the flash game effect on the background, and the simplified Slimer looming behind John, as if it was his familiar/symbolic beast having his back. Comical and kinda scary, with his ridiculous small eyes and large mouth. So he strikes, and is auto-pastried which is a pun on Auto-parry, a term and running gag from its predecessor Problem Sleuth. Still on my color observations (what can I say, I'm an artist that love art) this AUTO-PASTRY! is magenta kinda (but not really) close to the batterwitch's fuchsia. Guess I was too eager with that one. However it's nice to see there's different hue of the same color
The flashing dual color thing will also be used later for kernelsprites and ^2 sprites (this duo is Jasperosesprite^2's). The joker magnet echoes to the 'auto-pastry!' text, emphasizing the fact that the cake has comical properties.
Then he slides back into his previous position, simple and efficient (battle and artistic choice wise). If Aggrieve was an offensive and active tactic, Abjure is its opposite.
But before he reacts, it's DAD's turn to attack with a RPG naming system, like the Final Fantasy series (probably a tribute). 'Guardian Rubric: Coddlebrand'. Rubric is a title, but can also be a rule or a explanatory note (school). Is 'guardian' here a category or is he actually grading John on the spot? Perhaps the remaining word will shed some light.
Coddle is overprotecting, so that's what John could rejecting. Brand is a label, so is it a category or insincere 'marketing'. Depends on the point of view we position ourselves: Dad's or John's.
But here's a succinct (even subliminal) text that appears during the cake attack: 'Dotesmite!' What does it could mean? *do some research* Ooooh I see. Crushed by fatherly affection. Smite is hit, but according to world reference there's also a biblical meaning: kill/strike down. John in itself is a biblical name, but I don't see Dad Egbert being cruel to his son. He ain't Abraham. From there there's not much left to do in this flash. I'll just note that the movement effect during the Abjuring is reminiscent of John's windy powers, the blue and yellow colors coincident with his future God Tier outfit. Harmonious improvisation on Hussie part, for sure. Welp! We're done with this first Strife flash. It's writing was very laborious for unknown reasons and I'm very very sorry for 2 months of inactivity. Thank you for your patience, and I'll see you soon for the rest of Act 1. —> Coming soon

Got tagged by @accidentallylita for a 20 questions for writers thing! Thank you 💜 I'm gonna tag... @tameila, @fantasiawandering, @kabbal, @kaantt and @thisstableground - no pressure at all though.
How many works do you have on AO3?
88. But I still have 44 others over on FFnet.
What's your total AO3 word count?
659,354 (holy crap that's a lot!) and I'm way too lazy to add the FFnet numbers. The FFnet counters are a mess anyway.
What fandoms do you write for?
I have written for... Ready? Go! *deep breath* Harry Potter, Great Mouse Detective, The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Kung Fu Panda, Watchmen, Justice League, Discworld, White Collar, Hogan's Heroes, Zorro (the 1950s Disney series), Kaamelott, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the 2012 cartoon and a TMNT 2003 and 1987 crossover missing scene from Turtles Forever) , the Don Camillo stories/films, Cobra Kai, Karate Kid, The Legend Of Vox Machina, and Critical Role. Whew! And that's not counting unpublished WIPs, because then I would have to add ACD Sherlock Holmes, Jeeves and Wooster, or The Pirates! In an Adventure with Musicians Scientists :D It's mostly Critical Role and Vox Machina at the moment, though.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Let's see:
Villains (Justice League Unlimited, Flash's Rogues watch the finale of season 2's near apocalypse on TV in their bar, 442 kudos)
Reading the Colours (TMNT 2012, kid!Mikey having trouble learning to read and a bit of synaesthesia, and kid!Ralp being a good brother, 225 kudos)
Culture Shock (Turtles Forever (TMNT 2003 and 1987 crossover), 2003!Don and 1987!Leonardo having a conversation about danger and stakes and genre shifts, 215 kudos)
After the Sunset (The Mummy, a getting-to-know-each-other scene set just after 'The End' to tie up loose ends and explore character dynamics, 202 kudos)
Wife (Justice League Unlimited, the writers made Captain Cold (of all people XD) mention a wife so I created a character and explored her relationship with her husband and his nemesis, 168 kudos)
Aww 💜 I was kinda surprised by this list, to tell the truth!
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try (oh my god do I try ♫). Currently there's still a couple in my AO3 inbox I haven't responded to yet because I like to take my time (and also I like having that little number beside my inbox on my page 😭)
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh that's easy. If, a Hogan's Heroes snapshot (<800 words) where I essentially went "hey, what if [character] really had been killed in that scene?" and picture the aftermath.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh that is hard! I have comforting endings, I have peaceful/hopeful endings, I have bittersweet endings with a side of sweet... But just plain happy? I mean, Pas de Deux would end on a thoroughly good and happy note if it weren't for that pesky last sentence ("This summer 1914 is going to be the best summer"). I'd say Perfect Picture has the happiest: it's a (few years into the) future JLU fic set at a Christmas do, PoV Jimmy Olsen, that ends on him taking the titular perfect picture in the immediate wake of a very happy announcement. I love it a lot.
Do you get hate on fics?
No, thank goodness. Something of a miracle in 22+ years of writing online! My beta has, though, because some people are idiots.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do, although it's a recent (ish) development! I've written three kinds of smut: loving and sometimes fumbling between two then three young people who don't a ton of (or any, in some cases) experience, quick and ill-advised between two desperate people convinced they'll die in a few hours, and cosy and warm as a means to (re)connect (two different fandoms) between middle-aged people. Love every one of them.
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have! Like the aforementioned TMNT crossover (within the same franchise, bit still, two different shows and fandoms). And, well, it's not exactly crazy, but I wrote a tavern-as-an-afterlife fic in which Sergeants García and Schultz have a little conversation about their respective supposed-to-be enemies. Would that count as "crazy" if they have approximately a century and a few years between their lifetimes?
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't... think so. Can't be sure. Sometimes I post fic here and I've definitely found my Tumblr accounts on those crappy Tumblr mirroring websites, so yeah, probably.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Someone asked me once if I minded them translating one of my Don Camillo fics into Italian, to which I responded with happy flailing and "not at all, go ahead!" But I never heard back from them. OTOH, I have done the translating :D I translated a Mummy fic into French back in the day (2004) with the author's permission, and I wrote L'éléphant de Carter (Hogan's Heroes) in French then translated it into English.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not really. I participated in group projects and big bangs and stuff, but I've written a fic "with four hands".
What's your all-time favorite ship?
It should be an obvious choice, because I have so few I ship actively - you know, not just "sure, I like the idea of them together". For the purposes of the question I will say Pike Trickfoot/Scanlan Shorthalt, from Campaign 1 of Critical Role/The Legend of Vox Machina (it's a slow burn with minimum pining! They both have personal growth! He pursues her but then apologises and asks if they can be friends! Each is the only one who truly sees and perceives the other on that level!). But also I really really love my one-third-canon-character-two-thirds-OCs OT3 set in 1910s Oxford. So... tie? :3
What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have one of those eternal WIPs (more of an idea, really) of a Discworld/Quantum Leap crossover where Sam Beckett Leaps into Sam Vimes who's in the middle of an investigation, which would mean that 1) Sam B has to wrap his mind around the existence of magic and dwarves and trolls and Nobby Nobbs while Sam V and Al Calavicci stare at each other down (Spider-men-pointing-meme style in the end) going "if my guy/my people get(s) hurt by your shenanigans then so help me I will go SQUARE" (and quickly enough work together).
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, apparently? I've been told a few times over the years by readers that they could "hear" the characters speak in their heads, which is the greatest compliment 💜 (especially since English is not my first language, so I'm always worried about things not sounding right!)
What are your writing weaknesses?
Actual plots, especially ones with a bit of complexity in them 😅 I'm the first to admit 80% of my fics are one-shot character exploration (with conflict - internal and external - being resolved via dialogue and/or communication). Also finishing things on time, GOD.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Heh. I'm French and when I write for Hogan's Heroes I often write a French character who canonically (though rarely, gotta respect the ratio) says things in French sometimes. Of course I'll include some! But I always make sure 1) to include a translation/explanation in the notes (AO3 is really great for footnotes) and 2) that it doesn't really require a translation to understand the situation/stakes. I tend to go back and forth on the use of italics for foreign language words.
Now, if I don't know the language as well as I do French (and, more importantly, if the PoV character who hears it speaks that language), I just clarify in the "s/he said", like
"You gotta be kidding me," muttered Bob in [insert language here].
Works in English too, of course, especially if you're having a multi-language environment in your fic.
First fandom you wrote for?
I was gonna say "Harry Potter", because that's the first fandom I wrote for (and published) after discovering fanfiction (the first fics I read were for Starsky & Hutch), BUT. I guess I should answer Titanic?? On account of how I kinda wrote a self-insert in high school (when the film came out) in which an imaginary inventor uncle build a time machine and my sister and I did some time tourism (obviously money wasn't an issue), thinking "oh we'll just go home on April 14th". I was a soppy 16 years old otherwise 0% interested in romance, so I had my stand-in recently lost her boyfriend (very tragically) and Fabrizio (Jack's Italian friend) be her gently manic pixie dream boy (and, of course, die). In retrospect I might have given my 14 year old sister the best part as the snarky no-nonsense little sibling. I tragically lacked self-awareness and poured my entire heart into it. Thank goodness I had no idea you could put out stories on the internet and that my best friend at the time (the only other human being who read this story) was kind and just as obsessed with the movie as I was ^^'
(I should point out that I wrote it with pencil on loose paper gathered in a binder I lost long ago. Such is life.)
Favorite fic you've ever written?
You can't just - I - oh come on! I can't choose between my babies!! No but seriously, I actually can't choose, sorry :D

Reunion Tour, 2011
"Second up is "Pink Glove", a song which, with its sublimely Sparksian structure, highlights the underrated role which the ever-suave Russell Senior always played in the Pulp sound."
Isle of Wight Festival Review
The Independent 19 June 2011
The robot voice has something important it wants to say. "We don't want no trouble," it announces, reciting the blurb from the "Mis-Shapes" single sleeve in flat, from-the-future tones. "We just want the right to be different, that's all. Do you?"
For all the glorious comebacks of adored bands in recent months and years, it has to be said that Pulp feels like The Big One. It's difficult to put your finger on exactly why that is, until you consider that robotic announcement and everything it entails. Because, from the very beginnings of Britpop, Pulp – thirtyish, corduroy-flared, northern, deadpan – were always the real outsiders in the pack, and outsiders rallied behind them.
And now, in a time when indie rock has become even more the domain of knuckle-dragging conformists than it was when the Gallagher monsters first belched on to the airwaves, we desperately need a band like Pulp. And in the absence of any suitable contenders, Pulp themselves have made their return with an action hero's timing.
So, as the sun sets over the Solent, the big black drape tumbles down, the giant "PULP" neon flashes into life and Jarvis leads the classic-era line-up into "Do you Remember the First Time", there's a phenomenal frisson of excitement among ... well, among me. The reaction to Pulp's first show on British soil from festival-goers who only remember about three hits and are waiting around for the Foo Fighters, however, is lukewarm compared with that which greeted their live return at Primavera the other week, and the partisan roar they'll elicit at Hyde Park in a fortnight's time.
No matter. Cocker, bearded, bespectacled, brown-suited and looking more like a geography teacher than ever, is on fine form, punctuating the set with the usual banter ("I came here as a child. I return as a man. Of sorts ..."), quoting Tennyson, doing a striptease, pulling kung fu poses and throwing packets of sweets to the kids in the front row – an act which, when combined with his seedy appearance, surely risks getting him added to some sort of register.
The set, while about as hit-packed as possible, doesn't pander entirely to the dilettante. Second up is "Pink Glove", a song which, with its sublimely Sparksian structure, highlights the underrated role which the ever-suave Russell Senior always played in the Pulp sound. We also get album tracks like "I Spy", the epic jealousy of the B-side "Underwear", and one of their true masterpieces, the explosive "F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.".
Having been present when Pulp played one of the greatest festival sets of all time at Glastonbury in 1995, it was always going to be a tall order to hit that peak again. But any set which can close with "Common People" cannot fail. The equal-greatest political pop song of the 1990s (with Manic Street Preachers' "A Design for Life") is particularly apposite in the age of the Bullingdon Club front bench, and by the time it hits the chorus, even the Foo Fighters fans are going Radio Rental. "Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown?" Pulp asked us in "Disco 2000". We're all fully grown now. And I don't know about strange, but it feels bloody fantastic.

Fortune-Telling
Dio Brando x Soothsayer, female reader
Requested by: anonymous
Part 3 Dio with a Soothsayer type reader? Someone he kidnapped to tell him the future and if he succeeds? But the person is very careful and a bit sassy when they give their answers.
I love this as it reminds me of Kung Fu Panda 2!
Please enjoy.
Power was something that Dio craved and desired with all his heart and soul. He wanted nothing more than to stand tall while the corpses of his enemies laid at his feet, he wanted to claim his rightful place as ruler of this world. An unstoppable force. A shadow to fear. A God in all but name.
And as such, he needed to know how to ensure that nothing would prevent him from achieving his glory. His attempts of gaining the fortune-telling abilities of Avdol had failed as the coward had fled him, pushing him to turn to another Seer. A Soothsayer. One of great talent. Though, he did not give her the same free chance that he had Avdol, preventing her from escaping or denying him and had her kidnapped. [Name] [Surname], a respected woman among the city of El Cairo, one whose claims of foreseeing the future were guaranteed at one point.
The point was: She was never wrong. At some point, sooner or later, her tellings would become reality. And that was why Dio wanted her. She was the key to shaping his future and gaining the greatness and power he so rightfully deserved. But there was one little problem with all of this. [Name] was very careful of what she told Dio, fully aware of his intentions and goals and so would answer his questions but not how he would like her to.
She occupied her time by arranging her items in a nice organised fashion, not listening as Dio muttered and spoke to himself. The long cloak that draped and dragged behind him created from the finest silk of the country, another thing he simply could not endure was poor materials, he wanted luxuries. Another coin tossed onto his pile of ever-growing delusions of Godhood.
“Now, [Name]. I want you to tell me my-”
“Fortune?” [Name] had cut him off before he could finish his sentence, seemingly acting as if she knew what he was about to say. A small effort to irritate him or annoy him, as he had done her multiple times by simply talking about himself and his bitterness towards the Joestars.
Golden eyes flickered a little before he spoke, “Future. I was going to say future.” He corrected her, turning his gaze towards her. His figure partially concealed by the shadows of the darkness around them but the [Hair colour] Soothsayer remained unfazed. “Now, gaze into your bowl, and tell me what you see.” Giving a slight nod, [Name] did so. Picking the wide bowl, she held it close and peered into it, her [Eye colour] eyes holding a distant look to them.
“If....If you continue down your current path,” She spoke, Dio making quiet footsteps as he walked down the small set of stairs towards her, “You shall find yourself.....at the bottom of the stairs.” Confusion flashed his face as he looked down to see that his feet had just hit the bottom of the staircase, confirming what she had just said. A light smirk on her lips at the irritation that flashed his eyes. He chose to ignore her little joke and approached her as she gazed back into her bowl.
“I see....I see....” He leaned in close, within arms reach of her now. “Pain.” At that, she reached up and pulled a few strands of hair from his head rather sharply, earning a sharp yelp from Dio. “And anger.” With that, she grabbed hold of his cloak and ripped the end of it off a bit. Much to his anger.
“How dare you! That is the finest silk in the country!” He shouted, both shocked and enraged at how she would do such a thing to his clothing!
“Followed by denial.” She added on,
“This is not fortune-telling! You are just saying what is happening right-!”
“Now?” Ice cold eyes pierced at her lightly smirking face. She was lucky he needed her alive else he would have torn her head from her shoulders long ago. Though her smirk faded when she turned back to her bowl after placing the few locks of his hair and ripped material into the bowl then grabbed a small handful of the powder.
“But if you truly wish to see what your future holds, then look.” Tossing in the powder, bright sparks ignited before a large cloud of smoke rose up, shifting and dancing, creating shapes. “A God,” she started as the smoke took form of a form of silhouette of Dio’s figure, “-is defeated by a warrior of a Star. Just as been done before.” At that, the smoke shifted and swirled into a large star with light hints of blue and purple mixed together.
Rage flashed his golden eyes before the bowl suddenly shattered before her, as if something had struck it, and the smoke was blown aside. Calm [Eye colour] eyes met with flaring golden ones. His voice dripping in venom.
“There are no more Joestars.” He made sure of it.
[Name] looked at him, “But there are. And you know it.” She spoke, her voice remaining calm as she looked at him, “You can feel it.”
A low growl left his gritted teeth before speaking with Vanilla Ice. “Send out the Glory Gods. I want them dead.” Vanilla Ice nodded before leaving. The rage calmed within Dio, allowing him to relax is tense muscles. His eyes glanced down and saw [Name] looking at the edge of his cloak again, which he quickly moved away from her.
“Don’t even think about it.”

How I would do RWBY pt. 1
Revised Timeline of story events (This is not a script, but a semi-loose outline of the story)
Red, White, Blake, and Yellow trailers can stay. They’re perfectly fine as is, barring some early series production foibles (and the voice acting).
Series would be split into three arcs with three seasons each. 1. The School Arc 2. The World Travel Arc 3. The War Arc. (4. The epilogue season of mini episodes just to cap a few things off)
School Arc.
Season One.
Ruby is shopping.
Roman tries robbing the place.
Ruby gets involved because ‘fight good yes’.
Fights Roman and goons.
Beats goons but starts losing against Roman.
Glynda intervenes.
Roman am-scrays and Ruby is detained by Glynda.
This is not the first time Ruby has been called in like this.
She’s been doing free-lance vigilante stuff for a while now.
Tai comes in, worried to hell and back… again.
It’s almost routine by now, but he has a heart attack each time.
Ozpin gets wind of it this time.
Is impressed by her and offers her position at school.
Ruby says yes.
Tai says Ruby is too young to be-
Ruby says yes.
Tai keeps trying to argue-
Ruby. Says. YES!
She wants to be a huntress like her mother was more than anything else in the world.
Next few days is various entities trying to get Tai to greenlight the idea.
Ruby constantly begs, Yang says it’s a good idea, Ozpin is quite forward as to the benefits, et cetera.
Tai relents when Qrow calls him and argues that Ruby is never going to stop her vigilante thing and should at least be doing it legally and with training.
Tai tells Yang to watch over Ruby.
Yang only promises to try.
Ruby instantly loses her after they arrive at Beacon.
Yang tried, just not very hard. Wants Ruby to be independent, both from her and Tai.
Ruby meets Weiss.
Carefree and rebellious Ruby immediately clashes with stuck-up and bad-tempered Weiss.
Blake intervenes, slags off the SDC, everyone walks away annoyed.
Ruby meets Jaune.
Jaune is less bumbling.
More of an Octavian figure. Meek of body, but quite strong of tactical and strategic mind.
Jaune meets Pyrrha.
Has no idea who she is. Not all that into celebrity gossip, especially whole kingdoms away.
Comes off as polite and charming, if a bit oblivious.
Ruby encounters Blake on her own.
Says thanks for helping ward off angry Weiss.
Blake seems a little standoffish but Ruby’s infectious friendliness makes her give her a chance.
Have actual conversation about books.
Have minor debate over the exact meaning behind the symbolism of a character in a story.
Y’know, nerd shit.
Orientation.
Ruby and Weiss talk again.
Goes roughly as canon. IE: poorly.
Ren and Nora introduced, again, roughly as canon.
Ren talks a bit more, less of Nora motor-mouth with him just being there.
Have brief conversations with Jaune and/or Pyrrha.
Relic hunt starts.
Catapult!
Ruby and Weiss meet each other faster than usual.
Grimm show up and they kill them together.
Weiss calls her an idiot but agrees that she’s at least competent in a fight.
Blake and Yang meet each other.
Have actual conversation.
Blake tries to be standoffish and curt but Yang’s winning smile and corny sense of humor makes it hard.
Jaune and Pyrrha meet again.
Jaune has actual plan to get relic.
Have conversation about aura and semblances in a way that doesn’t make Jaune seem like he was dropped multiple times on his head as a child.
Says that he hasn’t unlocked his semblance yet, but he says that he scored high enough on his aptitude tests to make up for it.
Ren and Nora meet up because… well, duh.
Meet Jaune and Pyrrha and decide to team up to speed the overall process up.
Bumble into pissing off giant grimm.
Ruby and Weiss start arguing, come to brief blows even.
Teenagers, am I right?
Big grimm shows up.
They bond a little by fighting it off together.
Main characters start to coalesce at the relic site.
Future JNPR is there too.
Everyone has brief hello with each other.
The two large grimm from earlier show up.
Each would-be team gets one.
Happy teamwork scene.
Kill the grimm, get the relics, same old shit.
Teams RWBY and JNPR are made official.
Team CFVY are present as the designated senpai group.
Cue bonding scenes.
Ruby and Blake create book club with Ren, Jaune, and Yatsuhashi.
Yang, Fox, and Ren have Kung-Fu training scenes.
Velvet passes around the collection plate for Wild Call, a large and helpful faunus rights group.
Blake and Velvet are kind of tense with each other. No one knows why.
Then again, Blake is pretty tense with everyone, but especially Velvet and Weiss.
(Velvet knows that Blake is a faunus and dislikes that she hides it. Blake dislikes Weiss because Schnee.)
Ruby is happy to talk to Coco-senpai and her crazy purse mini-gun.
Nora, Yang, and Pyrrha have push up contest. Ruby wins.
Weiss helps Ruby study with things like flash cards, note taking strategies, and other things she ignores.
Weiss has tense moment or two with Ruby but Yang delivers some context as to why Ruby is so unruly.
Mom died, dad got WAY overprotective of Ruby and more than a little distant with Yang.
Ruby always wanted to be like her badass of a mother and saw their father as being in the way of that.
Weiss empathizes to a degree.
Weiss and Yang team up to be the semi-responsible ones for Ruby.
CRDL are cunts.
Act racist to Velvet.
Push Jaune and Ruby around a little.
Say ungentlemanly things to Yang and Pyrrha. (They do it to all of the girls, but to them the most)
Cunt stuff.
CVFY can’t do much because A. They can’t be brawling with underclassmen and B. They wouldn’t be able to not kill the little pricks and that’d be a bad look for them.
JNPR is just trying to ignore them.
This leads to a confrontation between CRDL and RWBY.
They make a bet over a set of sparring matches.
If CRDL wins then RWBY has to operate as their maids or something creepy like that for the school year.
If RWBY wins then CRDL has to fuck off for the school year.
Best of four matches with a team battle if a tiebreaker is needed.
Ruby actually loses to Cardin due to his tankiness, him being the most (IE: only) competent part of his team, and secret cheating.
Weiss beats Russel rather handily.
Blake loses to Dove due to him cheating and everyone still not noticing yet.
Yang traumatizes Lark as a warning.
Team battle!
CRDL takes an early advantage due to RWBY having some coordination issues.
RWBY figures out that CRDL is cheating via wire tapping into their team communications.
Ruby takes the reigns.
Coordinates with her team via code with an old inside joke to Yang, a literary reference to Blake, and one of those studying tricks to Weiss.
They act in ways that CRDL aren’t expecting and can’t cheat around.
RWBY wins.
Yang and Blake take CRDL aside and threaten them that if they renege at all they will make what Yang did to Lark look like a massage, not to mention telling the staff about the cheating.
They are scared into avoiding RWBY and co. where convenient.
CRDL slink off to be cunts elsewhere.
Pyrrha, because fuck ‘will they won’t they’, asks Jaune out on a date.
Jaune, breaking dense anime boy tradition, says yes.
They’re cute together and N+R support them.
Beginnings of Vital Festival starts.
Team RWBY sees Sun causing chaos.
He briefly introduces himself to them and then runs off to cause more monkey mischief.
SSN are right behind him and are rude bastards who don’t introduce themselves while fleeing the cops.
Penny meets team in glorious awkwardness.
Ciel, whom Weiss recognizes from Atlas (they went to the same starter school together), is constantly chasing after her and her antics.
Her other two teammates are just combat bots with special retrofits. (They’re prototypes for Penny)
Gives context of tournament and her place in it like an awkward robot would.
Weiss says something pretty damn racist directed towards Sun.
RBY call out Weiss on racism.
Blake gets angry with her.
The topic of the White Fang comes up.
R + Y both agree with Weiss that the White Fang are assholes, despite also condemning Weiss’ racism.
Weiss has horror stories about what they’ve done, including kidnapping her at young age.
Points to her scar for emphasis.
Blake can’t argue against what they’re talking about but counters with the horrible stuff the SDC has done across planet.
General scumbag corporate crap as well as paramilitary actions that break most international laws.
R + Y also agree with Blake that SDC sucks too.
Weiss is a little taken aback.
She genuinely had no clue that things like that were happening.
Blake lets slip that she was White Fang.
Runs off before people can react.
Team gives chase.
Blake thinks they’re going to turn her in and/or lynch her.
They only want to talk to her and get the full story.
Weiss is conflicted about things.
Sun finds Blake, says that he remembers her from a White Fang attack in Vacuo, despite the masks they wear, and wants some answers.
Sun says that general opinion among faunus (at least in Vacuo and Mistral) is that the White Fang are asshole supremacists that cause more problems than they ever solve or even try to solve.
Blake gets reality check about White Fang.
Confesses that she was involved with some acts of violence but thought it was for the greater good.
She makes a point of saying that she, herself, did not kill anyone. If anyone was killed it was not by her.
If someone died, then it was either an ‘accident’ someone else did or Adam swung the sword.
Also thought that the genuinely horrible stuff she heard was propaganda or just Adam being a dick.
It was said dickishness of Adam’s cell that was tolerated by larger organization that made her leave and try to repent.
She had no idea that Adam was only marginally more of a lunatic than other cell leaders.
Blake happens to see telltale signs of White Fang attack. Uses them as an excuse to change subject.
Sun gives her benefit of the doubt on her attempt at personal redemption and assists her in trying to stop terrorist plot.
Penny has nothing better to do so she gives Ciel the slip and starts helping Ruby look for Blake.
Have conversation about friendship, freedom, and weapons.
Weiss airs concerns to Yang about future of team.
She seems scared at the idea of losing a friend like Blake.
White Fang are taking orders from Torchwick and his goons.
Blake tries to appeal to their good side.
They call her and Sun race traitors and try to kill them.
Blake and Sun vs Torchwick.
Neo (Roman’s adopted daughter) shows up to help Torchwick.
White Fang go all out.
This is a problem.
RWY and Penny arrive to brawl.
Penny solves problems.
Sun and Penny take on the White Fang
Roman + Neo are final boss of season for RWBY.
Hard fought fight, but it is clear that RWBY is going to win.
White Fang have contingency explosive.
No one important dies, but Penny is grabbed by her superiors in the confusion.
Weiss and Blake confrontation.
Both apologize for the mistakes in their earlier arguments and for flying off the handle.
Both still have rose-tinted glasses about their respective sides but the tint is wearing off.
Blake stops hiding being a faunus because the rest of the world isn’t as horrible and racist as the supremacist terrorists told her it was.
Agrees to be more transparent to her team.
Weiss agrees that #notallfaunus and that the SDC has done some dirt.
Torchwick meets with mysterious benefactor about problems with latest job.
Cinder, Emerald, Mercury, and Adam tell him not to worry and that Evil Plan is still a go.
Season one done.

My Other Fanfics in the Future
Well, I made announcements about my 2 Loonatics fanfics-related stories coming soon. So here are my other fanfics that I am making. But before I am going to show you my other fanfics, I like to share what most of them are like. Kervinverse related. If you checked my Tumblr header it's pretty obvious.
As you may wonder what is the Kervinverse is all about? The Kervinverse is like the multiverse but with all different kinds of Kervin. Inspired by Spiderman Into the Spiderverse all the versions of Kervin contained different personalities, stories, almost the same appearance, fighting styles, and special abilities. One of the most signature outfits is the black and red formal suit.
I already made a folder in toyhouse. However, most of it are unfinished and still ongoing.
https://toyhou.se/Kervin619/characters/folder:812137
People think that those stories a self-insert but it is actually not. Me and my other Kervins are the same but they are different the appearance, abilities, and personalities. An example is Denk Ops’s Chris Danger from the WWE games. And note that this is another long announcement for the other fanfics
So anyway, here are my Kervinverse stories that I would really like to share about Wattpad in the future. So are book covers later
KERVINVERSE STORIES (Including crossovers):
Grand Theft Auto Origins: Kervin Made Liberty – Set in the GTA HD Universe. Before Kervin (GTA Online) came to the place called San Andreas, he was just a very young boy who was born in the place called Liberty with his parents. His father Claude who became rich and retired to a life crime and his wife Misty who used to be a prostitute. It was normal and happy life for him and his parents. But when years passed when he is getting older, he slowly starts to realize what kind of broken world he is living in.
Now for those who played the HD Universe of the GTA Games you know every protagonist in the HD universe like Niko, Johnny, Luis, Michael Franklin, and Trevor. As much as they have different stories and perspectives but this story about GTA OC that he was living with full of offensiveness, disrespectfulness, brutal honesty, and others. An example in GTA IV a radio commercial of Babies Overnight that said that someone was not satisfied with the baby it can be disposed of. Although it would be interesting to have that backstory for my next OC for GTA. So, this story may contain a lot of murder and crimes on what led to him going to San Andreas. So, watch out. And for those who have not played GTA Online why his parents are both Claude and Misty is because it was part of the premium edition for free in Epic Games.
Def Jam X Kung Fu Panda: Book 1 Fight for A New Fight (maybe a working title) - After the events of Def Jam Vendetta, Fight For New York, and The Kung Fu Panda Trilogy including Legends of Awesomeness. Set during Paws of Destiny Season 2 in the Kung Fu Panda universe while in Def Jam 2 years later in the year 2005 after Crow's death (Fight for NY still takes place in 2003) Kervin (Def Jam Fight For NY) the new leader D-Mob's crew but also officially known as the Def Jam Crew after Blaze appointed him to take his place. Kervin has to manage every venue, club, and arenas in New York including places that Crow took over. But in Chinese New Year there was something strange that Kervin and his crew got transported to a different universe. Including former members, fighters, and circuit fighters.
Now, this fanfiction sounded really odd. As you may know why I am making crossover fanfic of Kung Fu Panda X Def Jam? Easy. The first one is because this is what would have been my PS2 games if I ever have a PS2. I was thinking of Mortal Kombat or Yakuza for Def Jam but Kung Fu Panda is the only thing I know when I was 7 years old. The second is because back in the days Hip Hop mixed with Kung Fu was very popular. Although Def jam may be a wrestling game martial arts stole my heart in Def Jam Fight For NY. I heard about things like the Wu-Tang Clan for example but the biggest problem for me is that I am not a true fan of Def Jam because I don’t know about hip hop artists. Just only the games so I will be focusing on their video game counterparts in their fictitious manner meaning pretending real-life characters with their real name are fictional characters. So, if there and fun facts in those real-life counterparts I may add them to it like easter eggs. The third is that there are Kung Fu Panda characters that did not get enough love and mostly art. So many recognizable characters like Po, Tigress, Tai Lung, and many more have become the most recognizable characters in the movies. But what about the tv shows like Legends of Awesomeness and Paws of Destiny? One of my favorite characters of Legends of Awesomeness is Peng, in short, he is the nephew of Tai Lung and he is such an interesting character that he deserves a lot more love. While for Paws of Destiny is Xiao because she is such a cute character, so is her personality and the best character to have hugs with. So, what I am trying to say is that I need to start off with the character that is unrecognizable then bring it recognizably. I may also add characters from shorts like student Mei Ling in the future book and it would be funny and to see rogue Mei Ling. 2 Mei Lings in one. Even Su and Master Snow Leopard because are both female leopards with the same appearance and outfit. I may also include some characters from the flash game Tales of Po and may possibly rewrite them in different stories because I love the character designs thanks to Blue Maxima’s FlashPoint. And the fourth and final part is that to make the Def jam games more recognizable. Def Jam in music is not absolutely enough but video games are. The Def Jam games did not bring a sequel after Fight For NY so I might as well make a sequel with interesting and experimental crossover fanfic just like The Loonatics Road.
The Red Fox (Kingdom Force Spinoff and maybe a working title) - The Kingdom Force has 5 members defending the 5 Kingdoms. Luka the wolf who leads in red, Jabari who runs in yellow, TJ who drills in green, Delilah who swings in orange, and Norvyn who strengthens in blue. Each of the 5 drives Kingdom Riders and turns them into Alpha Mech to fight against evil in the 5 Kingdoms. But even if they save the day multiple times the 5 Kingdoms are still filled with more crime and every antagonist came back doing other crimes and evil deeds because they were not arrested or eliminated. That's is when a red fox came along...
I have seen popular fandoms in cartoons that were supposed to aim at younger kids like Lion Guard, MLP, Paw Patrol, and even Bluey. But Kingdom Force is the cartoon that did get enough love. It's like Power Rangers and Voltron but with anthropomorphic animals like Zootopia. However, the stories and episodes in the show is very confusing and give me almost a lot of questions. But I do like the character designs in the show. My favorite hero is Luka who is a leader with and cute cuddly character personality and my favorite villain Envie Fernadez which she has a pretty hot design, name and voice and so is her personality. Reminds me of Sly Cooper but I have not played the game yet. But for the red fox also OC Kervin (Kindom Force) It’s still at work.
APB Reloaded X Zootopia: Anyone Can Be All You Can’t Be: - In Zootopia “Anyone Can Be Anything” But in San Paro “Be All You Can’t Be” Zootopia is a place where vicious predators and meek prey live in harmony. This means that people in Zootopia live together without the prey getting eaten by predators and predators not getting feared by the prey. They almost eat like us, they sleep like us, they speak like us, they walk like us, they run like us, they bathe like us (well almost), and most importantly they use technology like us. While San Paro maybe has a good look to sightsee but this city has a lot of crime. Robberies, bombings, thefts, drug dealing, murders and causalities, vandalism, and much more that we can think of. But that does not mean there is no justice in this world. When the Criminals like the Blood Roses and the G-Kings try to take over San Paro? The Enforcers Prentiss Tigers and Praetorians from come and save the day. What would happen when a human Enforcer meets a police fox and a police bunny? And how did it happen? Only one way to find out.
Now this one is also a Kervinverse crossover story. It focuses on Kervin (APB Reloaded) meeting Judy and Nick. I am trying to find a way on how will they meet each other. But the only thing ideas I know is that it can be a delivery gone wrong, an invention gone haywire or maybe a criminal stole something magical that is transported to a different universe. But I have a lot of strange things in the game like the Christmas events and Halloween events. I like to see any volunteers who play APB Reloaded. And for those Zootopia fans who have not played APB Reloaded you check it here. https://store.steampowered.com/app/113400/APB_Reloaded/
Well, that is it for the Kervinverse stories. Now it’s time for the other stories that I also planned in the future.
OTHER FANFICS:
Alza Flare (Road Rovers Fan Spinoff)- Alza is a black cat born in the place in New York City, USA. He was born inside a pet shop without cat parents since he was born. His parents' status is unknown. Although he did make friends with other cats and non-cats in the shop. But it was a short while until a human customer named Drayson Flare and adopted him as Alza Flare. Alza has been Drayson's pet for 3 years and they instantly became best friends but when during the time when they are about to go home from the park. A terrible accident happened.
A long time ago I watched Road Rovers on my phone just to try something nostalgic and the show is pretty good though although there are some parts that don’t use their powers all the time. One part that caught my eye is how brutal car accident in the episode “Dawn of The Groomer” which gave me an idea of my new anti-villain OC character named Alza Flare. Sadly, he does have an image of him yet. But I will tell you that I will give you an interesting revenge story for him.
The Best Surfer In The World (Surf’s Up Spinoff. Maybe a working a title and synopsis change) - After the events of Surf's Up and Surf's Up 2: Wavemania. There was once a wolf who lives in the place of Chicago Illinois. He quit his own career due to being a rejected member of Hang 5 for being too unstable and after beating J.C. in a tournament years ago and after his early retirement, he spends his normal life as an ice cream man in his own ice-cream motorcycle with one of his own freshest ingredients and swears to himself that he would never in the waters again. Until he met a young Toyger.
Surf’s Up is my first favorite mockumentaries since I was young. It’s like you are watching animals andromorphic animals absolutely existed in the world we live in. It had an interesting story and writing so are the interesting characters. But when I watched Surf’s Up Wavemania. Well, I honestly love the WWE Superstars and Diva came into the movie but the story did not actually surprise me a lot. Even if the movie has a lot of beautiful locations it still did not surprise me enough because it is more like an adventure than a tournament. That is why I am planning to start my fanfiction in a new different approach with a real story and a real rivalry. Starting with wolf inspired and based on CM Punk during the part when he won the WWE belt against Cena in Money in the Bank when I watched it since intermediate school with a little rename change so it won’t be obvious. And of course, my Toyger OC because he would be trained by his own surfing master. Also, I added a Slam City easter egg
Fire Pro Wrestling World Origins: Story of 2 Angels – There is no synopsis of them yet. But I will tell you they are brother and sister with the last name “Angel” The brother who is a pop artist while the sister who joined a motorcycle club. What they both have in common is they both can fight. Their stories about my 2 new Fire Pro OCs will be coming soon. But they are not part of the fighting roads.
Well, that is all for all the future stories with some summaries that I really want to share coming soon. Thanks for following including Wattpad
For those who are new here follow me on both Tumblr and Wattpad with the orange word link
Feel free to donate to me in PayPal
Also making fanfic is really long to make just like making an announcement. So again. I only post all chapters in 1 book.

Interesting interview with CW President Mark Pedowitz. Roswel, New Mexico is not mentioned, but he talks about programming decisions, straight to series orders, the next fall schedule etc. Another thing he mentions is, that he's happy that The CW will air a few more "family oriented" shows (like the Kung Fu and Walker reboots, and Superman & Lois). If you squint, RNM's very much a "(found) family oriented" show - with aliens. ;)
Pedowitz also mentions, that they have several slots to fill for the upcoming fall, and the 2022 spring schedule, but they haven't made all the decisions yet. While we might not hear about a S4 renewal very soon, this gives me a fairly good feeling tbh. RNM's an established show, it's comparatively "cheap" to make, they have great tax incentives in New Mexico, and the show is doing overall well enough in ratings and international sales.
—————————————————————————————
Mark Pedowitz, broadcast's longest-tenured chief, has no regrets about delaying the start of The CW's fall season.
His network (like Fox), made the decision last summer to wait until the new year to bring back scripted originals like Riverdale and All American. The late start afforded productions more time to get used to filming during a pandemic, where episodes take longer (and cost more) to complete. It also.
While the January fall launch gives the network a backlog of originals to air without interruption (provided the pandemic doesn't have other plans), it also delayed decisions like the network's traditional mid-January slate of early renewals.
Now, as The CW prepares to formally launch its fall season on Sunday with the returns of Batwoman and All American, Pedowitz talks with The Hollywood Reporter about how the network is plotting a return to business as usual, including more straight to series orders, developing shows with heart and, yes, the future of all things DC.
Let's pretend we're at TCA: When will you bring Supernatural back?
If they boys want to come back, we're ready to have them. (Laughing.)
The CW traditionally hands out early renewals during this time of year. Where are you in those conversations, especially since your season doesn't formally start until Sunday with Batwoman.
I'm just getting into those discussions. I came from a studio background and understand the importance of early pickups — it allows for better preparation. We're a few weeks away but I need to finish up some internal discussions.
ABC, NBC and CBS all returned originals late last year. In hindsight, any regrets holding the season start to January
No. Once we said it, we felt it was the right thing to do. It would have been too patchworky. At this point, it gets longer and longer and you're waiting to get back into some form of what's your finished product going to look like? I have no regrets. I just wish it didn't take this long to happen.
How much has The CW's late start to the season — originals return next starting Sunday night — impacted the way you conduct business, both in terms of renewals and the negotiations for pilot orders, etc.?
We did this strategically and made choice in the summer because we were concerned with misleading affiliates, the consumer and the ad sales community that we were going to have a fall schedule in the fall and felt that wasn't the right thing. We found some successes with some of the acquisitions, like Stargirl, Coroner and World's Funniest Animals. Some of those are good linear, a lot of them were great on digital. Our digital presence was kept alive because of that. That said, our fall had Supernatural. And once that came back, we were doing [ratings] numbers we were doing pre-pandemic.
We are interested in seeing how people react. It's not just a covid issue right now; it's also the uncertainty in the country with news being as much of a viewing choice as anything else. We're going to have to see how it all plays. We're getting a little colder of a start than we would have if we rolled out of summer. On a digital basis, we're fine. On a linear basis, it's gotten harder. On the development basis, nothing has really changed. I think straight to series [orders] will be done again this year — just for financial purposes so people can get going as quickly as possible — by the end of January. That could change because the surge could change. But there is a bit more flexibility to it. We're still on the same schedule: we have to talk to advertisers in some form in May about what things look like for the following fall. We're hoping that the following fall is closer to a normalized fall — like 2019 was. Do I think it will be completely that way? No. Do I think it will be much more that than not that? Yes.
So, you'll be focused largely on straight to series orders instead of pilot pickups this season?
We haven't seen a lot of development yet. Lost Boys and Maverick [ordered to pilot last year], because of what occurred, are back in contention as development, not because they got picked up to pilot last year. They're in the mix with many other things, including dramas from Ava DuVernay, Black Lightning spinoff Painkiller, Wonder Girl, PowerPuff Girls, The 4400. The scripts are coming in slowly. Right now, I've seen just a handful of scripts and I'm waiting for others to come in so I can make some decisions. They're in contention for how we pick up pilots or direct to series.
Last year, you went straight to series on Superman & Lois and Walker largely out of concerns that there could be a WGA strike. Why is this an attractive model for some development this year?
A lot of is dependent upon what we're dealing with in terms of production needs with ongoing series in a sense. The other is what's the economic impact. Bypassing pilots is short-term less money than going straight to series. We look at the economic impact and if we believe enough in these shows and that will determine the decision.
With two veteran shows — Supergirl and Black Lightning — ending, how much more room on the schedule do you anticipate you'll have? You're making straight to series decisions based on a slate that will have just gotten under way.
We'll have space for three or four shows for next season, 2021-22. We're sorry to see Supergirl and Black Lightning go, but we're happy to have Naomi, Wonder Girl and Painkiller in the hopper right now. From The CW-DC/Arrow-verse — whatever we're calling it these days! — I think we'll be OK for the next generation. The Flash is new leader with Arrow gone and we're hoping Superman & Lois and Batwoman step up there for a new grouping of shows.
How much more life is left in veterans like Flash and Legends as you develop the next wave of the Arrow-verse? Especially when you have Greg Berlanti doing a big-budget Green Lantern and DC world at HBO Max and J.J. Abrams doing Justice League Dark for the streamer?
And they have Matt Reeves' Gotham PD there, too. It always makes me feel good when we're copied. (Laughing.) There's a lot of life left. Greg and I speak quite frequently. I'm not that concerned. You recently passed on Green Arrow and the Canaries. Why? Timing. We couldn't quite figure out a model similar to Stargirl and couldn't quite get there. We were hoping to have it start at HBO Max and take a second run on The CW, but we couldn't figure out how to do it and couldn't make it all work. Last year's pilots Lost Boys and Maverick are back in the development stage. What's the status of The 100 prequel? The 100 prequel is still in discussions at the studio level. I'd like to see it happen. I'm comfortable with where the prequel spinoff episode we did this past season. It's not a pilot; the earliest that would happen would be probably summer 2022, if that happens. We may end up deciding that we can't put the pieces together and it won't happen.
Speaking of the studio level, Warner Bros. is in the midst of a massive change as Channing Dungey is replacing Peter Roth. How does the changeover at Warners — which co-owns The CW alongside CBS Studios — impact the network? What kind of conversations have you had with Channing about their content pipeline since Warners is your main supplier?
Peter and I had remarkable partnership and relationship, and that will be missed. Channing worked with me when I ran ABC Studios and we've known each other for a long time. She's very supportive of The CW and the shows that go on The CW. There are shows she'd like to keep there and get on the air there. Obviously, her priorities may be a little different than Peter's. We are all working toward the same goal.
How has the pandemic and our current state of the world changed the types of programs you're looking to make? Can you do a show like Maverick, set on a college campus, during a pandemic? Do you still make dystopian stuff, especially if it's expensive?
Maverick is still in contention. I just had this conversation with our development team. I've come to the point right now about hope. About safe havens and a place where you can just ease your tension a little bit. One of the nice things about Superman & Lois, Walker and Kung Fu is at the end of the day — despite all the superhero/genre and Texas Ranger stuff — all three shows are about family, which is an important aspect going forward. You'll see Superman in a way you've never seen him before. And you'll see Jared Padalecki in a way you've never seen before. After watching all eight of Wentworth, I switched to Bridgerton because I wanted something light and fluffy. And I found Ted Lasso a worthy successor to Schitt's Creek — it gave me a hug and made me feel good. It made me remember that the human condition is not always bleak. That's where my head's at these days and I'm hoping development is more hopeful than it is dark and dismal.
Have you considered keeping production on your scripted shows going through the summer given the current covid surge that's happening this winter and the uncertainty in terms of vaccinations and new, more contagious strains?
We work with the studios on episodic orders and when the shows would end, when they can revert back to a normalized schedule — some can do more easily than others — so we could be there for next October with a more normal schedule. We've sat with the studios and our production partners and have figured this out. Barring catastrophe, we think we're in good shape.
The CW is a joint venture between Warner Bros. and CBS Studios. Since both studios have prioritized their own studios, how much longer does it make sense for them to operate a linear network?
That's a question for them. for the moment, both parent companies are happy with how this is set up. They recognize the value of The CW brand for selling their shows in digital aftermarket.

The 2021 TV season is coming back into full swing, and viewers definitely have no shortage of returning shows to tune into week after week. Among those have been The CW's roster of fan-favorite shows, which have gradually begun to air new episodes over the past few weeks. On Wednesday, The CW confirmed that a lot of their programming will be back for more, renewing eleven returning shows for the 2021-2022 season. These include The Flash for Season 8, DC's Legends of Tomorrow for Season 7, Batwoman for Season 3, and Riverdale for Season 6. Dynasty has also been renewed for Season 5, All American, Charmed, Legacies, Roswell, New Mexico, and In the Dark have all been renewed for Season 4, and Nancy Drew has also been renewed for Season 3. Freshman hit Walker has also been renewed for a second season.
In addition, the network confirmed that it would be ordering additional episodes for its freshman series -- two more episodes for Superman & Lois, and five more episodes for Walker. Two more new shows from the network -- Kung Fu and The Republic of Sarah -- have yet to set release dates.
This provides a pretty clear indication of what The CW fans can expect going into the future, especially when coupled with the shows that will be wrapping up their storylines in the 2020-2021 season. Two installments set in the network's Arrowverse of shows will be airing their final seasons in the coming months, with Black Lightning ending with Season 4 and Supergirl ending with Season 6.
“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. “As The CW’s 2020-2021 season kicks into high gear, we are thrilled creatively with the direction of our first new shows out of the gate, Walker and Superman & Lois, that we wanted to order the additional episodes to complete their first seasons, and we are particularly pleased with the huge success of the launch of Walker, which debuted as our most watched series premiere in 5 years.”

hi!!! what are your favourite movies? like actually good ones but also any trashy comfort movies? is IT (2017) one of them?
Hello!! IT (2017) IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THEM oh man, thank you for this, I love talking about movies!!!! This is possibly the most difficult question you could have asked me. Apologies for how absolutely off the rails this got, I just... love movies so much lmao
I’ve said this before, but opening night of IT ch1 was the best cinema experience I’ve ever had, I’m so glad I got to see it with a fully packed audience who were all laughing and screaming together the whole way through. I’m a huge fan of... everything ch1 was doing, the 80s nostalgia, the summer-coming-of-age themes, the solid ghost train funhouse JOY of the Pennywise performance and scares, the washed-out cinematography, the tiny background details to make everything that much more eerie, the kids’ ACTING?!
Like, a lot of the time I find child actors can be really awkward and stilted to watch, but I remember leaving the cinema really impressed by JDG and Sophia Lillis in particular. I liked that they were all allowed to be little shitheads with potty mouths, it felt like a callback to 80s movies like The Lost Boys or Stand By Me. The whole thing worked to make me really care about what happened to the kids (even if I do still have issues with how they handled Mike. I understand even ch1 had limitations with juggling so many characters, but still). I saw it another 2 times in the cinema and have rewatched it at least, I dunno, 7-10 more times since then?
Add to all of that the retroactive CANON R+E baby pining subplot? I just love it, as if that wasn’t obvious by now given my Whole Blog. It’s a really special movie to me!
Anyway!! Ok, the main handful of movies I rewatch all the fucking time are:
Back to the Future, The Lost Boys, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Jaws, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Ocean’s 11, POTC 1, The Dark Knight, Inception, Die Hard, LOTR trilogy, Snatch, The Nice Guys, Logan Lucky, Mad Max Fury Road, Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, Billy Elliot, Dirty Dancing, Tomb Raider (2018)...
Those are the easily consumable ones that I’ve seen so many times I don’t really have to concentrate or think about them, but I really love them and unfortunately often KEEP rewatching them instead of new stuff. It would take too long to go into why I love all these movies so much because I could write the same amount as I already did for ITCH1, and everyone already knows why those movies are good, so, lol.
I think I’m gonna have to subdivide and categorise this whole post because there are too many separate criteria for... goOD MOVIES, AUUHH 😩
Okay so first off, HORROR MOVIES? I’m especially in love with Re-Animator (1985) and its sequel Bride of Re-Animator, they’re such good examples of camp and batshit 80s practical effects, and also EXTREMELY funny. I’m actually just gonna post my list of my fave horror movies that I do actually keep on my phone at all times lmao. These are in no particular order:
Wholeheartedly recommend every one of these. I’ve never been so scared in my life as I was watching Hereditary in the cinema, hoo boy. Mother! by Aronofsky is one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had (and I actually saw it on the same day I saw IT ch1 for the first time!! That was a fun day)
Psycho (1960) and The Fly from 1986 should also be on there but I couldn’t fit them in the screenshot.
I’m a HUGE fan of a ton of martial arts movies too, like Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer, Ip Man, The Raid movies, John Wick 3 is my fave of the trilogy, Drive from 1997 with Mark Dacascos is incredible, SPL 2, Ong-Bak, Operation Condor, Project A, Iron Monkey, and Zatoichi (2003) are some favourites.
My favourite Tarantino is Reservoir Dogs, fave Coen brothers are Raising Arizona, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs and O Brother Where Art Thou. Love some old-timey colour correction and weird offbeat dialogue. I also love Goodfellas!!! And Donnie Brasco! And The Firm, I’m so easy for any good crime/law/gangster/heist procedural like that, especially if they’re from the 80s or 90s in a super dated way.
Fave Disney movie is Tarzan, favourite Ghibli movies are Spirited Away and Lupin III. I remember watching Spirited Away during a thunderstorm one time and it being.... god! Transcendent! Favourite Pixar movie is The Incredibles (the first one. ALSO the documentary “The Pixar Story” is great and well worth a watch, it’s very comforting for some reason) and my favourite Dreamworks movies are HTTYD1 and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron.
I tend to watch more anime movies than tv shows, so stuff like Akira, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Journey to Agartha, and my ultimate fave anime is Sword of the Stranger (2008). The climactic fight in that movie is fucking stunning and should be counted in “bests fights” lists right alongside anything live action
Also if we’re talking animated movies another hearty favourite is Rango, and a Belgian stop-motion (which at one time I considered my favourite movie ever) called Panique Au Village (2009) which is one of the funniest movies ever made imo.
As for TRASHY movies, I’m not sure if that’s the right word for how I feel about these ones but.. dumb/silly/slightly guilty pleasure movies? Ones that I feel need some kind of justification lmfao
Troy - something u must know about me is that I’m a giant slut for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, so if a movie smashes historical and mythological nonsense together with fun costumes and sword fights, I’m gonna enjoy myself. Even if they should have made Achilles and Patroclus gay. Other movies in this vein are King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Immortals (2011)
Gods of Egypt - I know all the reasons this movie is whitewashed bullshit. But it was already bullshit with giant Anubis mecha and giant snakes and bad acting and ridiculous CGI and frankly I had a blast at the cinema (my friend who I forced to come with me did not have a blast. Sorry H***)
Avatar - yes, the one with the big blue people. This movie gets a lot of flack nowadays but I really do enjoy it just for the spectacle. The full CGI world technology was so new at the time and I love to wallow in the visuals and daydream about riding a cool dragon around in the jungle
George of the Jungle - I’ll defend this movie to the death ok this movie shaped me as a person, it is fucking hilarious and Brendan Fraser is the himbo to end all himbos. It’s perfect. The song Dela is perfect. I still want to write a reddie AU about it. It’s one of the best movies ever made and I’m not being ironic
Set It Up - I KNOW this is a dumb Netflix original romcom but consider this; it was funny and the leads had great chemistry. I got butterflies. I once watched it and then literally immediately set it back to the start so I could watch it again
The Brady Bunch Movie - when people talk about great satires or parodies you will see them bring up the same movies over and over again, Blazing Saddles, This Is Spinal Tap etc, but they never talk about The Brady Bunch Movie from 1995 for some reason, which they should. It is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen and every time i watch it somehow it gets funnier
Some more general favourites that I do still love but don’t rewatch as often, and don’t wanna go into more detail about are:
Moon (2009), Crna Mačka Beli Mačor, The Sixth Sense, Parasite, The Handmaiden, Tremors, Wet Hot American Summer, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, What We Do In The Shadows, Hunt For the Wilderpeople, The Secret of My Success (I love kitschy 80s movies, is that obvious by now), The Green Mile, When Harry Met Sally, Rear Window, The Odd Couple, Breaking Away, Pan’s Labyrinth, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Eagle, Gladiator, The Artist, The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec, Call Me By Your Name, Master and Commander, Pacific Rim, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Legend (1985), Emma. (2020), Flash Gordon, Trolljegeren, Hross í Oss, Beverly Hills Cop, Coming to America, WarGames, District 9, Ajeossi (2010), Tracks (2013), Sightseers, Mud (2012), Pitch Black, Four Lions, Shaun of the Dead, Starship Troopers, The Truman Show, Withnail & I....... Jesus Christ ok I need to stop
NOTABLE EXTREME FAVOURITES that I didn’t include in the regular rewatch list because they’re too heavy/not as well known/require more attention.:
Thin Red Line (1998), Badlands (1973) both dir. Terrence Malick
Malick’s brand of dreamy impressionistic filmmaking is something I find really appealing, both of these movies are gorgeous and unusual and poignant and, in the case of Thin Red Line at least, have a lot of things to say about a lot of rough subjects. I don’t totally understand all those things sometimes, but a theme with a lot of my favourite movies is that I’ll be more likely to love something long-term if it raises unanswered questions, or is surreal/esoteric etc. Plus the cinematography is incredible, and I wish there was a way to get Jim Caviezel’s narration from The Thin Red Line as an audiobook because it’s very poetic and soothing.
Let the Bullets Fly (2010) dir. Jiang Wen
This movie is WILD, it’s so much fun. It’s sprawling and intricate and epic and smart and really fucking funny, it! Has! Everything! A gang of very tolerant outlaws!! Jiang Wen’s beautiful broad chest!!! Chow Yun Fat absolutely DECIMATING the scenery, and the two of them outsmarting each other in order to gain control of a small Chinese town!!! Plus it’s long, but it packs so much nonsense and intrigue that it goes by really fast. Wow what a flick
A Field in England (2013) dir. Ben Wheatley
I know I included this in my horror list but aaaaahhh ahhhh Wheatley is one of my favourite directors (he also made Sightseers, and is directing the Tomb Raider sequel which makes me absolutely rabid.) This is a surreal black-and-white psychological horror black comedy set in the English Civil War about some deserters who may or may not meet the Devil in a field. People eat mushrooms. It’s bonkers. I love being blasted in the face with imagery that I don’t understand
Mandy (2018) dir. Panos Cosmatos
Speaking of being blasted in the face!!!!! This movie... I saw it in the cinema and I can’t even begin to explain the experience, but I’ll try. My favourite review site described it like this:
“...somewhere between a prog album cover come to life and a metal album cover come to life, and subscribes to both genre's artistic tendency towards maximalism: what it ends up being is basically naught else but two glorious hours of being pounded by bold colors...”
So, prog and metal are my two favourite genres of music. This movie opens with the quote “When I die, bury me deep, lay two speakers at my feet, put some headphones on my head and rock and roll me when I'm dead.” and then a King Crimson song, it is SURREAL to the nth degree, it’s violent and bizarre and Nic Cage forges a giant silver axe to destroy demonic bikers and there is a CHAINSAW DUEL. A galaxy swirls above a quarry. Multiple animated horror nightmare sequences. At one point a man says “you exude a cosmic darkness” and releases a live tiger. At another point Cage says, in a digitally deepened voice, “The psychotic drowns where the mystic swims. You’re drowning. I’m swimming.” and I haven’t stopped thinking about it for two years
Paper Moon (1973) dir. Peter Bogdanovich
Really fantastic movie set in the Great Depression (and also in black & white) about a conman and a little kid who may or may not be his daughter, running cons across the Midwest. It’s beautifully shot, so sharp and sweet and the progression of their dynamic is really well done because they’re played by an IRL father and daughter. Tatum O’Neal was NINE YEARS OLD and she’s so amazing in this movie she’s actually the youngest person to win a competitive category Oscar. I keep trying to get people to watch this fbdjfjdbf it’s wonderful
Alpha (2018) dir. Albert Hughes
THIS MOVIE IS A VICTIM OF BAD MARKETING ok, the trailers made it look like some twee crappy sentimental Boy And His Dog Adventure, plus it had voiceovers in American-accented english? That’s a total disservice to one of the coolest things about this film; the fact that they got a linguist to construct an entirely original Neolithic language that all the characters speak for the entire runtime. And yes, it is eventually a Boy And His Wolf adventure, but it’s COOL and fairly brutal, and it has some really incredible cinematography. The landscapes are so strange and barren and alien, you really get the sense that this is an ancient world we no longer have any connection to. And it’s also about like, the birth of dog & human companionship sooo it’s perfect.
Free Solo (2018) dir. Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, Jimmy Chin
The Free Climbing Documentary. I loved climbing as a kid, I love outdoor sports, and I love movies that elicit a physical reaction in me, whether that’s horny, scared, real laughter, overwhelming shivers, or in the case of Free Solo - HORRIBLE SWEATING TENSION. Like, I knew about Alex Honnold beforehand because of this adventure film festival I go to every year and I followed him on IG so obviously I knew he lived, but the actual climb itself was torture. My hands sweat every time I see it!! It’s incredible, such a cool look into generally what the human body can do, and more specifically, why Honnold’s psychology and life means he’s so well suited to free soloing. It’s such an exercise in getting to know an individual and get invested in them, before they attempt something very potentially fatal.
Brokeback Mountain (2005) dir. Ang Lee
I can’t even talk about this. When I was around 13 I snuck downstairs to watch this on TV at 11pm in secret, and my life was forever changed. I wouldn’t be who I am if I hadn’t seen Brokeback at the age I did. I seriously can’t talk about this or I’ll write an even longer essay than this already is
God’s Own Country (2017) dir. Francis Lee
The antidote to Brokeback Mountain, I’m so glad I managed to see this one in the cinema too. It makes me cry every time, as someone who’s spent years working on a cold British farm with sheep it was very realistic, which is expected since Lee grew up on a farm in Yorkshire. I love that this movie isn’t really about being closeted, but about being so emotionally repressed and self-loathing that the main character finds it so hard to accept love. Or that he deserves to be loved. The cinnamontographies.... lordt... but also the intimacy and sex scenes are fucking searing wow who hasn’t seen this movie by now. 10 stars. 20 stars!!!
Tomboy (2011) dir. Céline Sciamma
I saw this years ago but I’ve never forgotten it, it cut so deep. It’s from the director of Portrait of a Lady on Fire and it’s about a gnc kid struggling with gender and misogyny and homophobia in a really raw, scrappy way, it reminded me very much of my own... childhood... ahh the central performance is amazing for such a young age. I haven’t seen Portrait yet but I feel like if you went nuts for that, you should definitely check this out, it’s lovely.
Donnie Darko (2001) dir. Richard Kelly
EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS MOVIE I UNDERSTAND LESS AND LESS and that’s what I love so much about it. I love surreal movies, I love time-fuckery and stuff about altered perception etc etc and Donnie Darko scratches all my itches. I wish I could find a way to figure out an IT AU for it, because I know it would work! Somehow! Plus it’s got the subdued 80s nostalgia and I found it at an age when I was really starting to explore movies and music and the soundtrack FUCKS.
Offside (2006) dir. Jafar Panahi
I wish more people knew about this!!! It’s an Iranian film about a disparate group of women and girls who are football fans and want to watch Iran’s qualifying match for the World Cup, but women aren’t allowed into the stadium, so they all get thrown into the Stadium Jail together? They don’t know each other beforehand, but it’s about their changing relationships with each other and the guards and just, their defiance alongside hearing the match from the outside and WOW it’s so lively. Great dialogue and very funny, and such a different kind of story from anything you usually see from Hollywood.
The Fall (2006) dir. Tarsem Singh
This movie... I guess it’s the ideal. This is the platonic ideal of a film for me, it has fantasy, magical realism, glorious visuals, amazing score and costumes and production design and a really interesting, heartbreaking relationship at the core of it. I don’t know why so many of my favourite films feature incredibly raw performances by child actors but this is another one, Catinca Untaru barely knew any English and improvised so much because of that, and it’s fascinating to watch! Also the dynamic with Lee Pace is one of my favourites, where a kid forms a friendship with a guardian figure who isn’t their parent, but the guardian grows to really care for them by the end. It’s like Paper Moon in that sense. What is there to even say about this movie, it’s pure magic joy tempered and countered by genuine gutwrenching emotional conflict in the real world, it’s also ABOUT old moviemaking, in a way, and it’s stunning to look at!
Mad Max Fury Road (2015) dir. George Miller
I know I included this in my “most rewatched” section but it deserves its own thing. We all know why this movie is fucking incredible. I remember clutching my armrests in the cinema and feeling like my skeleton was being blasted back into the seat behind me and tbh that is the high I’m constantly chasing when I go to see any movie. What a fucking gift this film is
Théo et Hugo dans le Même Bateau (2016) dir. Olivier Ducastel, Jacques Martineau
I only found this movie last year and it became an instant favourite. Initially I was just curious because I’d never seen a movie with unsimulated sex before, but it’s so much more than the 18 minute gay sex club orgy it opens with. No, not more than, AS WELL AS. The orgy is important because this movie is so candid and frank about sex and HIV treatment in the modern day, it was eye-opening. Another thing that really got me is that I’d never seen a real-time film before. It’s literally an hour and a half in the lives of these two men, their intense connection and conversation and conflict in the middle of the night in Paris, with some really nice night photography and just!!! Wow!!! AMAZING CHEMISTRY between the actors. This is such a gem if you’re comfortable with explicit sexual content.
Ok. This is already over 3k but film is obviously one of my ridiculous passions and I can and do talk about it for hours. I’ve been reading magazines about it for years, listening to podcasts and reading review blogs and recently, watching video essays on YouTube because the whole process is so interesting to me and I want to learn more!!
Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of valuing form over narrative. The idea that story can often come second to the deeper physical experience and emotional reaction that’s created by using ALL the elements of filmmaking and not just The Story, y’know? Whether that’s editing, shot composition, colour, the sound mix, the actors, how it should all be used to heighten the emotional state the script wants you to feel. And so, I think for a few years now this approach has been influencing the types of films I really, really love.
I think I love surreality and mind-bending magical realism in films specifically because the filmmakers have to use all those different tools to convey things that can be way too metaphysical for just... a script? I’m always chasing that physical response; if a movie can make me stop thinking “I wonder what it was like to set up that shot” and instead overwhelm that suspension of disbelief, if I can be terrified or woozy or crying for whatever reason, that’s what I’m looking for. That’s why I watch so many fuckin movies, and why I’ll always remember nights like seeing IT (2017) for giving me another favourite.
Thank you again for this question, I didn’t mean to go so overboard. Also there’s no way to do a readmore on tumblr mobile so apologies to anyone’s dashboard 😬
#long post#films#this is like bill hader being asked to pick his fave comedies and he gives a 4 page list#he has such good taste though ahhahbfhfhfhh lemme talk with him nonstop about movies while i ride him. thank you

the Panda vs Aliens remake none of you asked for
disclaimer: I have not yet actually watched Panda vs Aliens.
IN a galaxy far, far away (I just saw star wars IV about 30 minutes ago) I was searching for the Godfather by scrolling through the various alphabetically organised movie titles on my tv’s ‘on demand’ menu. I reached the ‘p’ section and was just flipping to the next page when I saw it. The best movie title that has ever graced my eyes and the best movie title that ever will (grace my eyes). You already know it. Panda vs Aliens. I only caught a momentary glance at it as well, as I’d just flipped the page. So I went back to that letter ‘p’ menu and as it buffered I sat in nervous anticipation, wriggling with excitement at what I’d just seen while simultaneously preparing myself for the fact that I could’ve been mistaken. But as you can already guess, I wasn’t.
I haven’t yet had time to actually watch the movie but I did a bit of research and what it essentially comes down to is: A panda (or multiple pandas? I’m not sure) goes into outerspace and fights some aliens to save the world. I mean that is a fucking epic motion picture right there. Fucking pandas?! Fighting aliens?! Wicked.
This is the thing. It’s not exactly good quality. Panda vs Aliens (god I love saying the title) came out April 9th of this year. It’s a computer animated movie that looks worse than Shrek and that shit came out in 2001. Not that Shrek is shit.
But I mean just look at the still.
That’s like Free Online Games at crazygames.com level animation.
There are also several other issues. Although somehow executive produced by Stan Lee from beyond the grave (I mean this can’t be a money-maker either like cmon) the, I’m assuming, main character is literally Po from Kung Fu Panda. It’s him. It’s literally him. But that’s not all.
Look at the fucking poster. Number one, I don’t even want to know what’s on imposter-Po’s shirt, let alone why the animation quality on him is so much worse than the purple gorilla standing next to him. And why the fuck is the alien a purple gorilla? That is not an alien. I don’t know who thought it was. But that’s a purple gorilla in some spandex pants and some forearm bling. He doesn’t even have nipples. I mean to be fair, gorillas aren’t purple and they definitely have nipples, so in theory this gorilla could be an alien. Possibly a gorilla breed from a different planet that falls under the umbrella term of ‘alien’... nah, I still hate it.
So here’s my plan. The remake nobody asked for.
First things first: Live action. This thing was computer animated. Now if I know anything it’s that you can’t animate science fiction like a flash-player game. Us geeks are already in enough trouble as it is without having to compete with Realistic Zombie Survival (free on crazygames!) for graphics. I propose we cross actual sci-fi effects with proper CGI live action animation. I’m talking Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. We cross Alien or like original Star Wars type alien effects, or maybe the current Star Trek movies just to give it a boost in technology, with the grit and realism of the apes from The Apey Dawn, except the apes are pandas.
Alien, 1979
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, 2014
Now I want Steven Spielberg on this. I’ll take JJ Abrams in a pinch, but I want Spielberg. I’m talking E.T., Back to the Future. I’m talking Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Fucking Jaws man. Spielberg has got the experience I’m looking for in this. He’s got plenty of sci-fi experience, plenty of CGI experience, and he’s got the intense, dramatic, glorious flair that he can add to these films.
Thirdly, I know we saw this coming, but we need Simon Pegg and Nick Frost involved. Simon is our sci-fi/comedy king and you can’t have him without Nick. They have to be on the writing team. Originally Panda vs Aliens is an ‘animation, comedy, sci-fi, family’ flick, but we can shave that to a live-action science fiction Shaun of the Dead-esque comedy rated 13+. I would say rated ‘R’ but I don’t have faith, based on the inspiration alone, that ‘R’ rated people would actually come watch it. To be fair, Paul was rated R and that was pretty childish but...c’est la vie.
The only thing left uncovered is the exact design of the aliens who (I assume) are our antagonists (to be fair, I still haven’t seen the movie so there could be a plot twist or something, but that purple gorilla’s smirk was too gloating to be good). So, we need a dream cast, a couple more writers to fill our writing room, a design for the aliens, and perhaps an entire re-design of the universe. The poster and stills aren’t giving me much hope for the writing. So, here’s the plan. I’ll watch the movie and I’ll get back to you. It’s only 80 minutes and I found it for free so it’s not as if I’m wasting my life.
till then. peace out.

Could you recommend some adult sff? Love your blog btw!
Thank you!
And ok, I could give you better personalized recs if you give me some idea of what you’re looking for or what you like, but I’m gonna give you some general recommendations. Also I only really feel comfortable recommending books that I have personally read, and there are tons more out there than what I have read. If you want to find more, looking at recent Hugo nominations over the past few years might be helpful. Also one of the reasons why I know anything at all about the SFF world is that I’ve been listening to the Sword and Laser podcast for like, a decade. I never really mention that podcast, but its literally why I started reading at all and also they have a pretty active goodreads group as well.
So recommendations:
Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie:
This is one of my favorite books period. This is a far future space opera about an artificial intelligence who used to be a spaceship and now is only one human body, and she is ANGRY ABOUT that. I don’t really want to say more than that, but if you like AI shenanigans and being sorta confused as to what is going on the entire time, then this is the book for you! It’s the first book in a completed trilogy.
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan:
Obviously I’m gonna recommend the Wheel of Time. This is the first book in a 14 (actually 15) book series and if you need something to do with the next 1-5 years of your life *motions toward EoTW*.
So the Eye of the World, I think is uniquely good as a book if you kinda want to get into adult fantasy for a few reasons. For one thing, its kinda considered to be one of those “classics” of the genre but its not too old to be offputting to some readers. It’s a 30 year old book, so its not reflective of the genre now, but you can definitely see its influence all the place, even outside of just books. The Eye of the World specifically, also goes out of its way to make readers comfortable. It leans heavy on Tolkien references and tropes at first without being a straight up copy of Lord of the Rings like some classic fantasy books are. Its done very purposefully, in my opinion, to make the reader feel like they have some idea of what’s going on, and the series quickly drops the Tolkien references as soon as its established itself enough.
Also the Gandalf parallel for the series is a smol bi lady and there is 24 year old rage healer who wants to fight everyone with her own two fists. So many women to stan.
Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey
This is the first book of the Expanse, which is a nearish future space opera that takes place in our solar system. Mars has long ago been colonized and is a completely separate government entity than Earth, and conflict between the two planets has been stirring. The Asteroid Belt has also been colonized and have long been little more than tools of corporations that run their colonies. A group of ice haulers working in the outer planets get in the middle of one of the biggest secrets in the solar system and find themselves in all kinds of trouble.
I don’t really want to say more than this, but this is probably the only SF series that I actively keep up on when a new book comes out. There are 8 books our currently, and the 9th and final book will be out sometime in the near future. There are also several short stories and novellas set in the world, and there’s a TV show that I really like though I need to catch up on it.
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin
Hello, this book comes with content warnings for literally everything, but it is such a good book/trilogy. This is book about a woman trying to find her daughter again in the middle of the apocalypse. Definitely a heavy read but absolutely brilliant. The world has a magic system based on geology and the people that can use that magic....saying they’re discriminated against is an understatement. I don’t want to say much more about it, but if you have any kind of content you can’t read for whatever reason, I’d check before picking this up. This is the first book in a completed trilogy
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
So this isn’t really super SF heavy and is actually sold as a literary book, but it takes place after a flu pandemic has wiped out a large portion of the population...so maybe this is a bad time to read this book, OR its the best time to read it. Depends on how you’re dealing with *motions at the world*
The book flashes back to before and during the pandemic a lot, but is largely about art’s importance and is actually quite optimistic in its messaging, and this is another of my favorite books ever. But yeah, might be a bad time for you to read it of you can’t deal with the content now.
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
I just remembered that this book also has a plague, but its a subplot and not the major thing. So this is a big ol’ chonky standalone book that is high fantasy, deals with multiple cultures having to interact and work together, and has dragons. Also there’s a genunine slow burn f/f romance and *chef’s kiss*. I can’t really say much else, mostly because I struggle to explain this book, but its very good and probably my favorite book from last year.
The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal
In this house we stan Mary Robinette Kowal, ok?
So this is a science fiction that is more an alternate history that poses the question, hey, what would have happened if an asteroid slammed into the east coast in 1952 and the world had to scramble to colonize Mars so that everyone didn’t die on earth when the climate got catastrophic, because that’s the inciting action of the book. The main character is a Jewish woman who was a WASP pilot in WW2 and is a computer for the space program when all this happens. The book deals with sexism, and racism, and xenophobia, and all the social issues that are gonna come up with it being set in 1952, but Mary Robinette doesn’t flinch away from addressing social issues in any of her books, even when it makes her main characters look bad. (Also if you like Pride and Prejudice, she has a series that is just Pride and Prejudice with magic and like, yeah, its good).
A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan
This is a book which poses a question, what if dragons were like weird animals that were real and an eccentric woman spent her entire life traveling the world to study them and then told the stories of that in her memoirs when she was too old to care about the consequences of publishing all her scandals. That’s what the book is about. This one is probably actually the weakest in the series, just because it deals with so much set up. It’s a great series to get on audio because Kate Reading is a fantastic narrator, and the prose works so well as audio, because it’s just someone telling you her life story. There are five books in the series.
All Systems Red by Martha Wells
So this is a novella and is the first in the murderbot series. Basically a killer robot gets addicted to television shows and accidentally became sentient. I haven’t read the others in the series, but I really need to reread this one and get to the others.
Jade City by Fonda Lee
This is a fantasy set in world sorta inspired by the early 1900s but is in a fantasy world. It’s like a mafia movie and kung fu movie had a baby and it was this book. The sequel is out currently, but the third book is set to release next year.
An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon
This is another heavy read. This is a SF story set on a generation ship that has a society very heavily inspired by the antebellum south. There’s class issues, race issues, gender issues, mental health issues. All kinds of things intersecting here. Its fantastic, but a heavy read.
Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb
This is another fantasy classic, and is the first of the Farseer Trilogy. The title is sort of also a description of the book, so like. I’m not sure what else I can say. I haven’t read further into the series, but people I trust love it, and honestly I need to reread this and read more of the books.
Doomsday Book by Connie Willis
So if you think that Station Eleven might be a bad book to read at the time, then this is THE WORST POSSIBLE BOOK TO READ RIGHT NOW. Or, maybe the best. Depends on how you cope. This is a book about time travelers based in Oxford and the main character accidentally gets stranded in the past right as the Black Plague is about to hit. And it hits. The book is horrific. The second book in the series is much funnier. This one ain’t funny, but is good. Just, oof.
Mistborn or Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson
So if you want to get into the Cosmere, which is a series of series that interconnect and will ruin your life, then then my personal opinion is to either start with Mistborn or Warbreaker. People might not agree with me, but that’s my personal opinion.
Warbreaker is currently a standalone (a sequel will come out eventually but its not set up for a sequel so you can 100% read it as a standalone). The magic in this world is based on colors, and the story revolves around two sisters. One of them is betrothed to the horrific God King of their neighboring kingdom. The other sister ends up being sent in her place because their dad hates her. I adore Warbreaker so much. It has it all. Two women discovering their true places on the prep/goth spectrum. Talking swords. Vivenna. Everything you can need right there.
Mistborn is a trilogy that is very emo and will ruin you. Its about people who swallow metal to get magic powers and live in world where the dark lord won already, so they’re all emo. And that was the worst description of Mistborn I ever could have written, but I find it too funny to change.
So if you’re interested in the Cosmere, but are afraid to commit long term, pick up Warbreaker. If you want to get into a series right away, pick up Mistborn.
