POSTERIOR PELVIS LINKS ⠀ [FASCIAL ANATOMY & OSTEOPATHIC LINKS] ⠀ The posterior pelvis is a unique area in that it shows the direct relationships between ligaments and muscles in function. ⠀ Fascia connects everything in the body. Specifically, the collagen tubules that make up one structure are often the same tubules that make up another. ⠀ Even though man has given names to "separate" or organize ligaments from muscles, they are virtually the same continuous tissues on a micro level. ⠀ In the first picture, the relationships are indicated by numbers (blue colored): 1 Biceps Femoris links to the 2 Sacrotuberous Ligament (Pic 1/2/3/4) 3 Gluteus Maximus links to the 1 Inferior Dorsal Sacral Ligaments - Bichat‘s ligament (Pic 1/3/4/5) 5 Latissimus Dorsi links to the 6 Superior Dorsal Sacral Ligaments - Iliotransversosacral (Pic 1/4/6) 7 Quadratus Lumborum links to the 8 Iliolumbar Ligaments (Pic 1/7/8) 9 Sacrospinous Ligament links to the 10 Piriformis (Pic 9/10) ⠀ The sharing of fiber directions is what establishes these "fiber pairs". These relationships are responsible for creating tensional stability in the pelvis and sacrum and for linking limbs to the trunk. ⠀ The black arrows in Pic 1 represent the lines of force that are created and balanced by the tissues. ⠀ It's all connected! 🌐 ⠀ Picture credit: @AnatomyLinks ⠀ #anatomy #anatomie #fascia #yoga #pilates #doc #biotensegrity #biomechanics #functionalanatomy #pelvis #glutes #ligaments #chiropractic #doctor #physicaltherapy #physiotherapy #osteopathy #osteopatia #acupuncture #dryneedling #medicine #orthopedics #rolfing #anatomytrains #sacroiliac #joints #muscles #bodywork #medstudent #doctor https://www.instagram.com/p/Cjj5rZjtwIm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

@drkev_hybrid - IF YOU HAVE PLANTAR FASCIA PAIN THIS EXERCISE IS FOR YOU😊 [Heel pain advice] . As I mentioned in the last post the plantar fascia is more like a tendon then it is like simply fascia🤔. PLANTAR FASCIOSIS is the result of that "tendon" being overloaded in a capacity that it can't tolerate and then the pain continues to persist😣. This usually happens by way of a sudden ⬆in runs, workouts or even postural changes. . The midfoot is likely the site where everything goes wrong😐. As we toe off the midfoot has to be a solid rigid lever for you to propel off of. When there are leaks in the chain and your midfoot falls out of form the plantar fascia gets overloaded and eventually that overload damages the plantar fascia and results in pain💥. The mechanics involved in that could turn into a novel😔. There are researchers that have dedicated themselves to understanding why this happens and we still know very little😯. . . What we do know is that an injured plantar fascia needs to be loaded and not rested and iced. Which is why I like to think of it as a tendon. The gold standard right now for chronic tendon pain is exercise that loads the tendon in a safe and relatively pain free way😏. Load simply refers to making the injured tissue work to increase its strength so that it could take on more then it used to be able to😌. . Here is PART 1 of 3 📽 in this mini plantar fasciosis rehab series. The MJ lean (S/O to the king🙏 record on the wall in tribute. And S/O to #myodetox therapist @mat_hughespt for the gem🙏). This is a great way to load up the plantar fascia and start increasing its strength. . INSTRUCTIONS 👑Find a wall to fall into 👑Bend your knees slightly 👑Fall forward slowly and under control for a tempo of 3-5 secs 👑Fall into the wall once you feel your heels come off the floor and push yourself off 👑Repeat 10reps/3 sets . Part 2 coming at you soon stay plugged🔌🔌. . . #myofootseries - #futureproofyourbody #strengthandconditioning #knowyourbody #plantarfasciitis #legs #prehab #rehab #musclegeek #knowyourself #bepainfree #itsyourbody #functionalanatomy#yogaanatomy #bodymind #posteriorchain #microbreak #foundationtraining #truetoform #itju

Functional anatomy - is the study of anatomy in its relation to function, physiological anatomy. anatomy, general anatomy. Due to each being's unique physique, DURGA currently offers a possibility to request for yoga pants, #jumpsuits, catsuits, yoga tops / bottoms created according to your personal measurements and personality. Its even more fun when in the #upcycling process our team can use Your unworn or slightly damaged T-shirts, tracksuits, jumpers and leftover materials to BE KIND to ourselves, to the environment and beings that make your clothes with love. Lookie lookie, what is that beautiful cookie? I built me myself a tensegrity model (A structured in which the combination of tension and compression between the bands and the sticks is what's keeping it from collapsing. Also what's giving the shape or form of the structure, and also what allows for each part of the structure to move without falling apart). Just like the human body. Still needs a few tweaks, but it is a great tool for me to edify, and help my physical education and stretching clients learn abou tensegrity and the importance of balance in the whole body, how movement works, and how to improve upon it. The bands represent the myofascial lines (connective tissue), and the sticks represent the bones, and where they all connect represents the joints. #quantumfit #physicaleducation #physicaleducationforsocialchange #physicalliteracy #biomechanics #movement #movementliteracy #movementeducation #fitness #humanmovementpatterns #humanmotion #humanmovement #functionalanatomy #learning #education #literacy #fascia #fascialstretchtherapy #fascialtraining (at Winter Park, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2IQS85BVLg/?igshid=f92h4va2a2rh

HIP STABILITY AND TENSEGRITY SYSTEM ⠀ [FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY] ⠀ The hip joint also known as the femoroacetabular joint is the largest spheroidal joint in the human body and is capable of creating tremendous forces. ⠀ The function of the hip joint is dependent on its local stability, which is governed by the passive ligamentous capsule and labrum as well as the active muscle pulleys. ⠀ In the first picture, the arrows represent the muscles that effect the hip joint/proximal femur directly. They all balance each other’s pull through a tensegrity system. They are: 1. Psoas Major 2. Iliacus 3. Pectineus 4. Adductor Longus/Brevis 5. Gluteus Minimus 6. Gluteus Medius 7. Piriformis 8. Obturator Externus ⠀ These muscles (with Obturator internus and gemelli) work as a team to stabilize the femur and the pelvis so the larger muscles can produce torque (glute max, hamstrings, quads). If one “arrow” pulls more or less than the others, a potential disruption in joint centration ensues, directing forces in unnatural directions and stressing the joint surfaces. ⠀ Balanced tissue tension → joint centration → optimal hip function. ⠀ Know your functional anatomy, not just what the books say. It will make you a better doctor, therapist or coach. ⠀ Picture credit: @anatomylinks #anatomy #biomechanics #functionalanatomy #doc #tensegrity #anatomia #chiropractic #osteopathy #physicaltherapy #physiotherapy #acupuncture #dryneedling #hip #muscles #fascia #yoga #joints #yogaanatomy #squats #function #triggerpoint #physiology #pilates #medicine #crossfit #human #fascia #therapy #doctor #training #stability https://www.instagram.com/p/CRQ8XI7Ax_C/?utm_medium=tumblr

#Repost @foundationshane (@get_repost) ・・・ A unique muscle that not only greatly affects respiration but also the length on the front of the body and the strength on the back of the body. #Repost @slacky_j (@get_repost) ・・・ READ THIS important message about these muscles often made dysfunctional by modern lifestyle. #FoundationTraining is the solution to #ForwardHeadPosture or #TextNeck 🙌🏻 Are you doing it right now? Where is your head in relation to your shoulders? Pull the base of your skull back and up, feel how that naturally lifts the sternum. Take a nice deep breath in and drawing the belly inward, feeling the back of the rib cage lift and broaden while the sternum lifts from the back of the neck pulling longer. Maintain that expansion on your exhale, feel the abs wrapped tight to support the new space you've created. Over time your body will learn to stay more and more decompressed while at rest and you'll find countless benefits because of it 💪🏼 #Repost @anatomysense (@get_repost) ・・・ Sternocleidomastoid- (SCM) this muscle assists in rotating the head to the opposite side along with neck extension. The upper portion of this muscle is often shortened from our forward head posture and our ability to absorb gravities constant downward pressure. The inferior heads (2 of them) are lengthened due to our inability to breathe into our upper lung field. Thus, our rib cage hangs off of our of neck. A simple healing movement is by pulling the back of your skull over your shoulders. You will feel your upper ribs lift slightly bringing active tension back to the lower heads of the SCM. Make sure not to tuck your chin. Equally pull your forehead, nose and chin posterior. Now take a nice slow deep breath through your nose feeling your rib cage expand up and out. Repeat 8-10 breaths. Now go about your business. #anatomysense #musclegeek #knowyourself #bepainfree #itsyourbody #functionalanatomy // #howyoumovematters #correctiveexercise #movementmedicine #happyhinge #happyhuman #backworkout #strongspine #bodyhacking #proprioception #strongerthanever #movewell #santabarbara #santabarbarafitness (at Michigan Family Wellness PLLC)

✨PLANTAR FASCIITIS✨ . I've had a LOT of people ask me about plantar fasciitis . So check out this routine by @docjenfit 💪🏼 . Warning: If you're not a fan of feet, you probably won't be a fan of this video 👣 Plantar fasciitis is such a common diagnosis that many people experience! Though everyone's program will be different dependent on your structure, function and goals, I'm going to run through some exercises/stretches that may be helpful to include in your program this week or even add to your mobility/rest days to prevent it! 🔶 Plantar fasciitis Facts: 🔸Usually presents as pain at the bottom of the heel 🔸 The plantar fascia is not muscle/tendon inflammation, but actually the plantar aponeurosis, which is the connective tissue overlying the intrinsic foot muscles 🔸 It can be caused in people with flat feet AND high arches. If the plantar fascia is too stiff (high arch) or has too much give (over-pronation), there becomes a constant irritation to the fascia. The plantar fascia acts as a bow string. Too tight, or too lose, it looses it's biomechanical purpose for propulsion in gait. . 🔷 Windlass Effect/Mechanism: 🔹 Allows the arch to rise, become tight and compress the foot when the great toe is dorsiflexed - mimicking gait 🔹 Allows the foot to maintain structural and functional structure of the foot. . 🔹 Allows the foot to function as a mobile adapter and a rigid lever Try lifting the big toe (or have a friend help you out in standing). Difficult? No arch movement? No dorsiflexion range?! This is a problem!! Start with some of these exercises to start waking things up and get your intrinsic foot muscles working again. As well we go on throughout the week, I'll address other stretches and advanced exercises you can do to keep that foot as healthy as you can! Tag someone who has or has had plantar fasciitis! . #myodetox #2017 #futureproofyourbody #strengthandconditioning #knowyourbody #plantarfasciitis #legs #prehab #rehab #musclegeek #knowyourself #bepainfree #itsyourbody #functionalanatomy#yogaanatomy #bodymind #posteriorchain #microbreak #foundationtraining #truetoform #itjustfeelsgood #knowyourworth #kinetizeyourlife

This is the good sh*t. 🌾 CPD that nourishes mind, body and spirit! 🐲 ❤️ @jambodragon & @ruthie_rooster exceeded my expectations a thousand fold. My body and mind are still catching up with the energetic alchemy that was initiated over these two days. The added advantage? I also learned TONS about anatomy and how to be a muscle-whisperer and help my clients to trigger transformations in their own bodies. My darling, I will be demonstrating on you soon! Yes you. 🙏🏼✨ ❤️ Favourite quote: "you need to sort your shit out."
