whatever the wind breaker anime adaptation was on, the bungou stray dogs anime needed too. honestly.
what a beautiful first episode. i could not have asked for anything better. well blocked out battles, clear and clean animation, all the budget were on those punches and kicks and considering that's what's at the heart of wind breaker — other than eating good food and freedom and family — i am proud and satisfied at what the animators did with it.
i didn't expect the art style to be so reminiscent of the actual manga's, either! it's like the manga started moving, and having a busty soundtrack, and was peppered with good cinematic effects. and was no longer living on the back of my limited voices i used to read the manga. it was like the manga started breathing.

#okay random story time i don't know why im narrating this or how i even stumbled upon this memory rn#but i generally do sad vents in the tags and for a change this is a funny one#so back in highschool (i say highschool but i mean junior college) i used to visit this park near my house a lot#i was an sg kid back then and the thing about parks there is that they're kinda beach-parks and they have the best cycling/running tracks#they're also really massive parks so i used to go often. sometimes bicycling. other times walking. yeah. the park was like my sanctuary#anyway. there are quite a few bike rental areas in the park and there was a cute lil shop next to this one particular rental place#and they sold like biscuits and water and icecreams and stuff and i went there a lot#and on one particular day i went there and there was this guy around my age part timing at that shop#now again this might be culture specific bc i dont see it in india but part timing in uni/pre-uni is pretty common is sg#a lot of shops and restaurants employ teenagers to twenty something ppl for part time jobs... anyway im just adding context#point is that i had walked to the park with my mum that day and she told me to go buy a couple icecreams so i went to the shop#and i saw this guy around my age and like. not to be a simp but this dude was so pretty?#like he saw someone had come to the counter so he looked up and shot a smile and i thought i got slapped by sunlight#i could spend the next several lines going on about his pretty tan skin and his glowing raven eyes but this is pathetic enough so ill stop#anyway he saw me and smiled really wide (customer service smile- i thought to myself) and i smiled back and asked for icecreams or whatever#and then this guy started getting chatty right. so he was all 'you come here (to the park) often right? ive seen you with your bike a lot'#see now. the problem with me is that i always think im bothering people. this poor dude was attempting to make conversation#and i was replying with one word answers#and i wasn't even realizing that he didnt want that. bc he kept asking more questions and i. kept. shutting them down.#then when he gave me the icecream he was all 'are you here alone? icecream alone is no fun... i could keep you company if you want..?'#which. he was being really cute about right. but because im so fucking dense i was all 'oh no i came with my mom actually'#and he went 'aw man' in this really cute but faux sad way which i didnt understand at the time and i left and then#after three full fucking days. i realized this man was tryna hit on me?#and then i went to the park like a week later and he was gone. poof. i even thought of asking the uncle in charge of that place#then i got too embarrassed and chickened out#yeah so turns out my neurodivergence neutralizes any sort of rizz that comes my way#i could've been chilling with a cute boyf rn but no😩 this is my destiny#megumi in the tags

one major difference i have found between service industry work (in my case food service but this is widely applicable to similar jobs) and other public-facing positions is that the job itself is often very similar because people is the same, it's just in service everyone approaches you already thinking they're right and you're a fucking idiot and its their god given right to disrespect you, where in other positions even if they are not nice to you they usually acknowledge that you know more than them on issues pertaining to your job. like the difference in behaviour from people who see you as serving them vs helping them is unreal. i am doing literally the exact same things. customer is always right mentality did irreparable damage to the fabric of society
#good idea generator#i loveee the library front desk everyone is polite and people will just ask you anything#they assume so much knowledge and access to data#ill be like 'just one moment let me look that up in the system' [googles name of school + upcoming events]#also not in a mean way but i never realized until i worked here how little anybody is googling anything#i think its funny and i also love to google things for people so i am perfectly suited to this#and some questions even though they are googleable the issue is more that the person isnt totally sure what theyre asking#but like. the library hours are visible on the home page. and outside the building that you just walked into on a sign#PPL DO NOT READ SIGNS. i knew that from other jobs but good lord people do NOT even GLANCE at signs#ppl would fully walk past like 4 signs about a specific thing and proceed to ask me a q about the thing. after waiting in a line#constantly CONSTANTLY ppl are trying to enter or exit through locked doors. clambering over closed signs to do so#its someones job when the library closes specifically to point out the signs and direct ppl to an open exit#and still often people will get up to the automatic doors and be baffled and confused as to why they dont open#but like even this i dealt w/this at my food service job and it was so frustrating#bc when you had to confront these people they would get MAD AT YOU. furious that they didnt read a sign telling them where to line up#but at the library people are polite and apologetic so you know it's not malice or entitlement ppl are just kind of inattentive#monumental difference tbh i actually love front counter so much people are so fun#and i like it when nobody is actively trying to kill me with their mind while we speak

What the fuck kind of text is "Other creatures are Food artifacts" that's so fucking stupid I love it so much. Is it strong? That could not possibly be further from the point. The point is that you see this and say "What the FUCK that's ABSURD!!" and then you try your absolute hardest to make some dumb bullshit combo with it. Whether you succeed or fail is far less important than how many silly interactions you discover during the process
Fucking "Ward - Sacrifice a Food", that's hilarious, this card is amazing
#original#mtg#magic the gathering#if it weren't for the +1/+1 counter ability i'd call this card perfect#finding silly ways to profit off of turning everything into food is the fun of this card. there's no need for a built in reward#and of course getting rid of the +1/+1 counters might just make this a balanced card instead of a Mythic Rare(tm)#i wish every rare could be more or less like this#doing stupid wacky bullshit that makes silly interactions happen#maybe sometimes they'll fit into a competitive deck or maybe they'll even create a competitive combo deck#but again i must stress: that is not the point#it's about the journey. not the destination#and a lot of rares basically have their journeys start and end with “this card is really strong”#and maybe that can be part of it. if you really need to sell that much cardboard#but there's such a beautiful world of stupid possibilities out there#and to be clear yeah Ygra is the exact kind of card you can slam into a limited deck and basically win the game#2 +1/+1 counters every time anything dies plus 6/6 in base stats plus ward - sacrifice a creature for 5 mana is really strong#but at least it's fucking WEIRD and COOL

#they're jw gold seals btw#I haven't bought new blades in eight years 🥲 my old matrix legacies are the equivalent of super super dead pointe shoes#for reference you're supposed to replace or upgrade every FOUR years#and i just have not had the means or motivation until now#and it's only my loops and counters keep slipping off their edges since the rocker is so far back from years of sharpening#so i keep falling and hurting my hips.#fun fact: I partially dislocated my left hip on a fall a few months back and it only went back into joint when I fell on it again#in mid-november. so I was just out there walking around for almost 2 months on a partially dislocated hip. no one's doing it like me lol

#IMA KOKO MIRAI MO BOKURA GA NEGATTE IRU YUME NO KAKERA#CHALLENGE THE GAAAME#that tribute to them boy did it hit#Alito and Gilag's friendship throughout ZII was pretty wholesome/it was nice they got some closure as Alito pulled a Durbe to get DT out#[in that his Counter Trap spared some damage but hit him with it all by the end of the turn]#and Durbe putting his hope in Merag and Merag thinking she won only for Vector to save himself w/ DT's Throne and come back from the brink#i got chills from the sheer livid anger in Merag's voice after finding out what he's been doing with Nasch--and from her losing (that OST)#and Vector being such a troll but also cunning is fun to watch#at this point i'm pretty sold on ZEXAL--it's lived up to the 'gets better' hype for a while now#[also i love Vector's Evil 1 Trap that references Dark Malik vs Dark Yugi]#ZEXAL#Lance watches ZEXAL#yugioh zexal#and now for the fated MOON duel i've heard so much about--and Kite dueling in a spacesuit fun
