Spiritual Growth Through Meditation on Scripture
The Lord instructed Joshua, saying, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success” (Josh 1:8). This command involves a deep, reflective engagement with Scripture, allowing its truths to shape one’s…

Not to bring peace but to suffer and die
We say, "Jesus couldn't have been the Messiah, because Messiah is supposed to bring peace, and Jesus didn't bring peace!"
To this objection, Arnold Fruchtenbaum's response is well taken:
“Well, since (Jesus) was not accepted, he could not very well bring peace, could he? Furthermore, the purpose of the Messiah's first coming, or as the early rabbis would have it, the purpose of the coming of the first Messiah, the son of Joseph, was not to bring peace but to suffer and die.”
This Jesus did!

Was John's Use of the Logos a Jewish Concept?
Was John’s Use of the Logos a Jewish Concept?
By: Brian G. Chilton | December 3, 2018
One of the questions that people often pose concerning John’s Gospel is that it appears that John is greatly influenced by Hellenism—that is, Greek culture. One aspect of John’s Gospel that tends to stir this thinking is his use of the Logos in John 1. The Logos, or Word, was understood by the Greeks to be the wisdom of God(s) which was often thought to…

Is Russia on the Brink of Nuclear War?
By Author Eli Kittim
Who or What is Gog?
Joseph Stalin——the Soviet Union’s longest serving ruler from 1927 until 1953 (for nearly 3 decades)——was born in Gori, Georgia. Curiously enough, in both English and Russian, the initials of Gori, Georgia would be Gog or ΓοΓ (i.e. Гори, Грузия). If the Bible wanted to symbolize the terror of Communism in the 20th century, as well as the final empire on earth, what better way to do so than by pointing to its cruelest and most infamous leader, who was born in the land of Gog and Magog.
In the Bible, Γώγ or Gog symbolically represents the final leader of the last superpower on earth. The last-days prophecy of Ezekiel 38.1-2 (LXX) reads:
ΚΑΙ ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρός με λέγων·
υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου
ἐπὶ Γὼγ καὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Μαγώγ, ἄρχοντα
Ῥώς, Μοσὸχ καὶ Θοβέλ, καὶ προφήτευσον
ἐπ’ αὐτὸν.
Translation (NKJV):
Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land
of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and
Tubal, and prophesy against him.
The term Γώγ might actually be an abridged version of the word Γεωργία (Georgia), the country that has a northern border with Russia and was once part of the Soviet Union. Based on both linguistic and historical studies, the rest of the names indicate a Russian connection: prince of Ρώς (Gk. Ρωσία/Russia), Μοσόχ (Gk. Μόσχα/Moscow) and Θοβέλ (Tobolsk). In his book The Footsteps of the Messiah (p. 70), the biblical scholar Arnold Fruchtenbaum provides a supplementary elaboration of Ezekiel 38:
The identification of Magog, Rosh,
Meshech, and Tubal is to be determined
from the fact that these tribes of the
ancient world occupied the areas of modern
day Russia. Magog, Meshech and Tubal
were between the Black and Caspian Seas
which today is southern Russia. The tribes
of Meshech and Tubal later gave names to
cities that today bear the names of
Moscow, the capital, and Tobolsk, a major
city in the Urals in Siberia. Rosh was in what
is now northern Russia. The name Rosh is
the basis for the modern name Russia.
Similarly, according to Wikipedia:
Josephus refers to Magog son of Japheth
as progenitor of Scythians, or peoples north
of the Black Sea [Josephus, Antiquities of
the Jews, Book I, Chapter 6]. According to
him, the Greeks called Scythia Magogia.
The Scythians were a group of nomadic warriors who lived in what is now southern Russia. More importantly, the Bible seems to point to Russia as the birthplace of the last-days Antichrist (see e.g. Ezekiel 38). In order to understand the historical reasons for tying the Ezekiel 38 narrative to Russia, see “The Magog Identity” article by Chuck Missler: https://www.khouse.org/articles/2002/427/print/
The Septuagint Conflates the Biblical References to Gog and Agag
In Numbers 24.7 of the Septuagint, Agag is called Gog (Γώγ), and the LSV translation of the Bible uses the two titles interchangeably in Numbers 24.7 (cf. Amos 7.1 LXX; Rev. 9.3, 7-12):
He makes water flow from his buckets,
‘And his seed [is] in many waters; And his
King [is] higher than Gog [or Agag],’
And his kingdom is exalted.
Here’s the Septuagint version of Numbers 24.7:
ἐξελεύσεται ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος
αὐτοῦ καὶ κυριεύσει ἐθνῶν πολλῶν, καὶ
ὑψωθήσεται ἢ Γὼγ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ, καὶ
αὐξηθήσεται βασιλεία αὐτοῦ.
In Hebrew, the pronunciation of Agag is Ag-awg, similar to that of Gog (gawg). Some scholars think that Agag represented a dynastic name for the kings of Amalek, much like the title Pharaoh that was used for the Egyptian kings. Interestingly enough, according to scholars, the root of the word Georgia (Γεωργία), which, as mentioned earlier, may represent the biblical Gog (Γώγ), is the Persian word gurğ (“wolf”), a possible cognate of Agag. One of Agag’s descendants is Haman the Agagite (Esther 3.1), whose cruel plot against the Jews can only be matched by those of Hitler and Stalin. Thus, the name Agag (or, alternatively, “Gog”) has become synonymous with antisemitism and with evil! It seems, then, that the titles Gog and Agag are interchangeable.
Old & New Testament Prophecies About the Same Cataclysmic Event
Even though in Ezekiel 38 the term Gog is an appellation of rank and status, notice that in Revelation 20.8 Gog and Magog (Γώγ και Μαγώγ) are references to nations (ἔθνη), not titles:
καὶ ἐξελεύσεται πλανῆσαι τὰ ἔθνη τὰ ἐν
ταῖς τέσσαρσι γωνίαις τῆς γῆς, τὸν Γὼγ καὶ
Μαγώγ, συναγαγεῖν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν
πόλεμον, ὧν ὁ ἀριθμὸς αὐτῶν ὡς ἡ ἄμμος
τῆς θαλάσσης.
Translation (NRSV):
and will come out to deceive the nations at
the four corners of the earth, Gog and
Magog, in order to gather them for battle;
they are as numerous as the sands of the
sea.
And the next verse (Rev. 20.9) is seemingly talking about the exact same event that Luke 21, Zechariah 14, and Ezekiel 38 are describing, namely, “Jerusalem [being] surrounded by armies” (Lk 21.20), or a gathering of “all the nations against Jerusalem to battle” (Zech. 14.2; cf. Ezek. 38.16):
Translation:
They marched up over the breadth of the
earth and surrounded the camp of the
saints and the beloved city [Jerusalem].
And fire came down from heaven and
consumed them.
This so-called “fire” may refer to a nuclear blast that causes the desolation of Jerusalem (cf. Ezek. 38.19-20; 39.6, 8; Dan. 11.31; 12.11; Zech. 14.11; Mt. 24.15-22).
Notice that the exact same word that is used in Revelation 20.9 to refer to the armies of Gog and Magog that “surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city [Jerusalem],” namely, the word ἐκύκλευσαν (derived from the word κυκλόω, meaning to encircle, besiege, or surround), is also used in Luke 21.20 (κυκλουμένην) to describe “Jerusalem surrounded by armies.”
This is presumably the same event prophesied by Jeremiah the prophet (10.22):
Hear, a noise! Listen, it is coming— a great
commotion from the land of the north to
make the cities of Judah a desolation.
For a detailed study on the nuclear implications of the phrase, “the desolating sacrilege standing in the holy place” (Mt. 24.15), see my article “What is the Abomination of Desolation?”: https://eli-kittim.tumblr.com/post/651654379241406464/what-is-the-abomination-of-desolation
If experts claim that it wouldn’t be difficult for terrorists to build and detonate an improvised nuclear device, how much easier would it be for an invading army to do likewise?
According to Wiki:
Since 1947, the Doomsday Clock of the
Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has
visualized how close the world is to a
nuclear war. As of 2021, the current time to
'midnight,' (midnight representing nuclear
war,) is 100 seconds.

Rapture Date Setting
:: By Gary W. Ritter Published on: July 23, 2022
Despite the failure of Rapture date setters in the past, many people continue to try to outwit the Lord by predicting when Jesus will come back for His true church to snatch us away into the clouds to be with Him forever. It hasn’t worked out well previously, and I predict it won’t work out for this current crop of know-it-alls.
Many people attempt to tie the Rapture to the Jewish feasts. They say that such and such has already been fulfilled, and so the final one based on the Feast of Trumpets must be next so as to correlate with past prophetic feasts and events.
The most recent well-known Rapture dating exercise was by Edgar Whisenant with his infamous 88 Reasons Why the Lord is Returning in 1988. With the “oops” when that didn’t occur, and the explanation that he’d made a mistake in his calculations, Whisenant foolishly followed up with 89 Reasons Why the Lord is Returning in 1989. That failure was the end of his attempts to outwit God.
As with many pre-Tribulation Rapture teachers, I get comments and emails.
I’m rather fortunate to have a small following because more people would mean more contrary letters. Many writers disagree with my pre-Tribulation Rapture stance and can be quite insistent as to how wrong I am – to the extent that this Biblical doctrine is demonic in origin and I’m a tool of the devil for advocating it. I can’t imagine the amount of correspondence that someone like Pastor JD Farag gets every week. One such writer has me on his mailing list. He calls himself a Scripturalist for the Lord and expounds his views – based on his understanding of Scripture – particularly in regard to the Rapture and Tribulation. Lately, he’s been quite insistent on setting a Rapture date based on the Jewish calendar.
In a series of emails, our Scripturalist has determined the date the Rapture will occur based on the following:
It will be after the Gog-Magog War.
It will be in the month of Nisan on the Jewish calendar following this war.
It will be on a Sabbath, i.e., Saturday.
Based on these occurrences, it will be on Nisan 10 = April 1, 2023.
And, as our friend says in each of his missives: “So There You Have it.”
In other words, you can take it to the bank that the Rapture is scheduled by God for this particular date; so when it approaches, keep watching.
In addition to this certainty, just so you can know how accurate this date setting is, our email writer is also adamant that we are already in the midst of the Seal Judgments because the Rider on the White Horse of the 1st Seal has been revealed as Jared Kushner in his role of negotiating the Abrahamic Peace Accords.
Well, if none of this sits too well with you, join the club. There is a very good reason that no one will know the date or the hour of the Rapture except the Father. We are to know the season (NOW!), but anything more specific than that other than its imminency is not for us and is a false prediction.
Why?
In actuality, the Rapture correlates to a Galilean-Jewish wedding.
According to Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum in his must-read book The Footsteps of the Messiah, there are four steps involved with such a wedding:
1.The father of the groom makes the arrangements.
2.After a period of time, the groom fetches his bride under two conditions:
a)The father determines the timing.
b)The groom has prepared a place for himself and his bride at his father’s house.
3.Prior to the wedding ceremony – to which few would be invited – the bride undergoes a ritual cleansing.
4.The marriage feast occurs with many more people invited.
This simple outline makes it clear as to how the Rapture follows these steps:
1.God the Father has made all the arrangements. A bride price was necessary to be paid. It was done so through the blood of Messiah.
2.The Rapture is the fetching of the Bride. Once everything is set, the Father gives the go-ahead to His Son to retrieve His beloved. Jesus, as the obedient Son, does so by snatching her up in the clouds at this unexpected and unannounced time that only the Father knows. The Son has spent the last two thousand years preparing our place in His Father’s house. This is the meaning of John 14:1-3:
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
3.One of the necessities for us as the Bride of Christ is to stand before the Bema Seat to be judged for our works on earth in Christ in order to receive our rewards. This is the burning up of hay and stubble, leaving only gold and silver. In other words, it is the ritual purification of the Bride for the wedding ceremony. All this, plus the ceremony itself, takes place in heaven. Given the events that occur and the necessity of their timing, it’s easy to see that the Rapture and the 2nd Coming are completely different and separated by a period of time.
4.Upon the consummation of the marriage by the Bridegroom and Bride – typically considered to be seven days which correlates to the seven years of the Tribulation, the wedding feast will begin. In our case, the Bridegroom – Jesus – leads His Bride back to earth where this takes place. Many guests are invited. These include Old Testament saints and tribulation saints, i.e., those martyred during the Tribulation plus those who endured through to the end.
If you wish to gain a terrific understanding of a Galilean wedding and further insights into what is presented here, I urge you to watch the film Before the Wrath.
The reason that no one can or will accurately predict the timing of the Rapture is because of its unknown quantity. God the Father will determine when to send His Son for His Bride. For those trying to discern the mind of God in this matter – good luck.
We who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ have a marvelous day ahead when our bridegroom comes for us. At that moment, we’ll gain glorified bodies and be like Him. Jesus is coming for us before the Tribulation because 1) we believe in Him, and 2) He loves us and won’t allow the depravity of the world to stain us with the horrific events of the Tribulation. Anyone who thinks differently simply doesn’t understand the nature and character of God.
Our job between now and then is to be about our Father’s business. In so doing, we are to occupy while eagerly watching and anticipating our Lord’s return to bring us home. As we faithfully do this, let’s not forget to tell others and share with them the hope that we have in Christ. For those who don’t believe in this marvelous promise that Jesus has given us of our Blessed Hope, how dreary must their days be as they wait like unbelievers for the coming wrath of God upon this lost and dying world.

The Remnant of Israel: Past, Present and Future
1.] The Doctrine of the Remnant of Israel
This doctrine states that there are always some Jewish believers within the nation of Israel, with one possible exception: the moment after the rapture has taken place.
The concept of the remnant of Israel refers to all the Jewish believers within the nation of Israel, from Abraham, Isaac & Jacob all through to the end of the millennium.
According to Fruchtenbaum [2005:4], there are two Israel’s: Israel the whole & Israel the remnant.
Ethnically the two Israel’s are the same, but spiritually they are not.
Paul states ‘they are not all Israel who are of Israel’ [Romans 9:6; NKJV].
Romans 9:6 | It is not as though GOD’s WORD has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.
The remnant of Israel, also known as the Israel of GOD [Galatians 6:16], refers to only those Jews who are believers.
Galatians 6:16 | Peace & mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of GOD.
At any point in the history of the Jewish nation, the remnant of Israel may be large or small, but there is never a time when it is non-existent, except perhaps immediately after the rapture.
2.] Ramifications of the Doctrine of the Remnant of Israel
There are five ramifications of this doctrine that may be noted.
First, only believers make up the remnant of Israel.
Second, not all believers are part of the remnant of Israel, for this is a Jewish remnant & comprise only of Jewish believers.
Third, the remnant of Israel is always part of the nation of Israel as a whole, not detached from the nation as a separate entity, so it is distinct but not separate.
Fourth, Jewish believers during the Church age [from Pentecost until the rapture] have dual citizenship:
they are part of the remnant of Israel [i.e. the Israel of GOD] as well as the Church, the Body of CHRIST.
Five, within the concept of the remnant, there is a twofold contrast:
a contrast between the miraculous & the non-miraculous & a contrast between the noise & the quiet.
3.] The Remnant of Israel in the Past
The concept of the remnant of Israel was present from the very beginning of Israel’s history but as a doctrine, as a theology, it only became clearly evident with Elijah the prophet.
Elijah thought he was the only person in Israel who did not bow the knee before Baal, but GOD told him otherwise:
the remnant of Israel at that time comprised 7K who followed GOD.
Isaiah described the remnant of Israel concept in theological terms, specifically in chapters 7-12.
These six chapters are called the “Book of Immanuel” & show that the remnant has a quiet confidence in the GOD of Israel & the One to come, Immanuel [also Matthew 1:23; 11:3].
Matthew 1:23 | “Behold, the virgin will be with child & will give birth to a son, & they will call HIM Immanuel” [which means, “GOD with us”].
Matthew 11:3 | to ask HIM, “Are YOU the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”
The Messiah, Immanuel, would become the point of division between the remnant of Israel & the non-remnant.
In other words, the Messiah, Immanuel, would prove to be a sanctuary for the remnant of Israel, but for the non-remnant, HE would be a stone of stumbling & a rock of offense.
4.] The Remnant of Israel in the Present
In the NT, the doctrine of the remnant of Israel is found in Romans 9-11, briefly referred to in Galatians 6:16 & further dealt with in 1 Peter 2:1-10.
Concerning the first book written by the apostle to the circumcision, which is clearly addressed to Jews outside the land of Israel [1 Peter 1:1-2],
Peter is not drawing a distinction between Israel & the Church or between unbelieving Jews & believing Gentiles, but rather Peter is distinguishing between
Jews who believe [the remnant of Israel] & Jews who do not believe.
For example, the Church is not a race, but comprises of believers from all the nations.
Peter, however, writes to Jewish believers in the Church age & reminds them that they are an elect race [1 Peter 2:9-10], referencing the fact that Israel as a nation was elected by GOD for specific purposes.
Even though ‘this generation in Israel’ committed the unpardonable sin to reject JESUS the Messiah during the First Advent, does this mean GOD has permanently & totally rejected Israel?
Paul twice answered this question most emphatically in the negative in Romans 11:1 & 11:
Romans 11:1 | I ask then, did GOD reject HIS people? Certainly not! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
Romans 11:11 | I ask then, did they stumble so as to lose their share? Certainly not! However, because of their trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.
Perish the thought! GOD forbid, no!
Please read Fruchtenbaum [2005:8-33] for a detailed discussion of the remnant of Israel in the present age.
He deals in detail with 1 Peter 2:1-10 as well as Romans 9-11.
1 Peter 2:1-10 | Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, & slander. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the LORD is good.
As you come to HIM, the living stone, rejected by men but chosen & precious in GOD’s sight, you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to GOD through JESUS CHRIST.
For it stands in SCRIPTURE:
“See, I lay in Zion a stone, a chosen & precious cornerstone; & the one who believes in HIM will never be put to shame.”
To you who believe, then, this stone is precious.
But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and, “A stone of stumbling & a rock of offense.”
They stumble because they disobey the word —& to this they were appointed.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for GOD’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of HIM who called you out of darkness into HIS marvelous light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of GOD; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Again, keep in mind that Jewish believers during the Church age have dual citizenship:
they are members of the remnant of Israel [i.e. the Israel of GOD] as well as members of the Body of CHRIST.
5.] The Remnant of Israel in the Future
Since all Jewish believers of all time are part of the remnant of Israel, it stands to reason that all individual Jews who become believers during the seven-year Tribulation will also be part of the remnant of Israel.
This includes, for example [more examples can be given], the 144 000 Jews [Revelation 7:1-8; 14:1-5] & the Jews of Jerusalem who will become believers during the middle of the Tribulation [Revelation 11:13].
Romans 11:25-27 states that ‘all Israel will be saved.’
Does this mean Jews will be saved just because they are ethnically Jews?
Of course not, they will be saved because they put their faith & trust in the LORD JESUS the Messiah.
Still, according to Isaiah 10:20-23, only the remnant will be saved.
Isaiah 10:20-23 | On that day the remnant of Israel & the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer depend on him who struck them, but they will truly rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
A remnant will return—a remnant of Jacob —to the Mighty GOD.
Though your people, O Israel, be like the sand of the sea, only a remnant will return.
Destruction has been decreed, overflowing with righteousness. For the LORD GOD of Hosts will carry out the destruction decreed upon the whole land.
Is there not a contradiction?
No there is not.
During the Tribulation, two-thirds of all Jews will perish but one third will survive the Tribulation.
Towards the end of the Tribulation, for the first time ever, every Jew physically living will have become a believer in JESUS the Messiah & therefore at that stage all Israel will be equal to the remnant of Israel [thus they will all be believers].
And it is these believers who will confess Israel’s national sin, & say ‘Blessed is HE who comes in the name of the LORD!’
[Matthew 23:39; Hosea 5:15-6:3; Zechariah 12:10].
Then the LORD JESUS CHRIST will return to the earth.
If you would like to find out more about the remnant of Israel, we suggest you consider reading the original article by Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum,

Jesus, the Perfect Example of Submission to God
Jesus Christ provides the perfect example of submission to God. He’s the perfect example because He is perfect and never disobeyed the Lord. Jesus said, “I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 5:30), and “I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me” (John 6:38). In the Garden of Gethsemane before His crucifixion, Jesus prayed,…

In the latest preview to episode 15, we once again see Azrael’s blade. In episode 14, we learnt from mum that it is the same as the flaming sword that guarded Eden. “He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.” - Genesis 3:24.
The flaming sword is mysterious. The Hebrew word can mean both “burning” or “consuming.” It is often associated with judgment and God’s anger. Whatever it is, it is active, dangerous, and speaks of God’s wrath in judgment. In his commentary on Genesis, Hebrew Christian scholar Arnold Fruchtenbaum takes the flaming sword as a visible manifestation of God’s shekinah (dwelling) presence, similar to the flames within the burning bush of Genesis.
The dagger seems to need some kind of emotional trigger to work. Mom is convinced that Lucifer is the only one that can use it and in the preview it looks as if Amenadiel and mom are doing their best to make Lucifer angry. But what if anger is not the emotion needed? The sword was originally used to guard/protect Eden, so wouldn’t the feelings of protectiveness Luci has towards Chloe and other humans be a better bet?
“My mum asked me why I care so much about these people dying and I’m not sure I know. I mean, it’s not like I know them personally, and Maze is right…Even without Azrael’s blade, humans are capricious. Hell, they’re willing to trade their souls to lose unsightly tummy fat, but…So… why should I feel bad? Why should I feel responsible?“ - Lucifer S2E8
Especially as the one time that Lucifer was able to trigger it, he was defending his right to stay in the one place that has ever felt like home.

The Olivet Discourse Matthew 24 Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum
The Olivet Discourse Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, For further study, go to http://www.messianicassociation.org/ezine49-af-olivet-discourse-messianic.htm The Olivet discourse marks a pivotal point in our Lord’s ministry. It is here that his prophetic role comes to an end and Jesus’ priestly role comes to the fore. This discourse is also important in that our Lord lays out the events, which must take place prior to his return. For those who study prophesy, Dr. Fruchtenbaum’s clear presentation will help establish a time line with which they will be able apply to events in the world around them. Eschatology; study of the end times. source

(Podcast 7.14.18) Is Isaiah 7:14 a Messianic Prophecy?
(Podcast 7.14.18) Is Isaiah 7:14 a Messianic Prophecy?
Recently, host Brian Chilton wrote an article asking if Isaiah 7:14 is a Messianic prophecy, that is, does it refer to the coming Messiah? On this edition of the Bellator Christi Podcast, Brian further explains why thinks that this passage of Scripture does indeed refer to the coming Messiah. The passage in context also provides a sign for the king during the days of Isaiah. The prophecy works,…
