Five Nights at Freddy’s but I make it a medieval fantasy

While browsing for “It’s Been So Long” memes, I came across this banger, and a few comments, while memey, makes this sound like a really neat concept. So I made a bunch of HeroForge models based on this concept loosely. The large amounts of text is all flavor, and if you just want to click on the bold names and look at the cool models, you’re more than welcome to.

Beware of slight gore and mentions of death and child death, as well as poisoning. Also beware of ridiculous fantasy armor.

King Henry of the Fazbear Kingdom, a noble and well loved king. He had a young daughter, then princess, who would have grown to take over the kingdom when he died.

Sir William of Afton, Henry’s closest knight and friend. While he’s a very skilled knight, and the favorite at the king’s parties, Sir William has a dark history that has yet to be uncovered. He becomes easily jealous of the young squires he trains, and if any of them threaten to surpass him, he cuts them down in the heat of their first real battles. Leaving their corpses behind in their suits of armor, he reports to the king that the enemy slaughtered them brutally.

Princess Charlotte, when alive, was King Henry’s only heir. She was often carefree, but happy. One night, when riding alone on his horse, Sir William observed the princess separated from her guard. Jealous of the constant attention from her father, as well as the prospect that King Henry would be continuing his rule by bloodline, Sir William struck her down with no witnesses. He carried her body to his personal armory, hiding it in one of many suits of armor. He did not notice it’s sudden disappearance the next morning.

Sir Freddy was Sir William’s best student of them all, extremely skilled with the blade. Quickly surpassing William, he was marked for death the first battle against the enemy. Cut down from both angles, his corpse was left on the battlefield. Though just a squire when killed, Princess Charlotte knights her army post mortem.

Sir Bonnie was an excellent marksman, and could quickly dispose of important figures from miles away. He was on his way to being knighted after a certain battle, but felt his body fail him before he could land an important shot. Sir William had poisoned him, and hidden his body amongst the enemy’s after the deed was done. Princess Charlotte gave him a second chance.

Lady Chica, though not directly under Sir William’s watch, was one of his victims as well. She showed great skill in tending to the wounded, and after trying to heal Squire Bonnie when she saw him fall, Sir William killed her as to have no witnesses. Princess Charlotte resurrects her to help give the gift of life to their comrades.

Sir Foxy was incredibly agile, a dangerous foe to be on the end of. He showed surprising promise very quickly, and Sir William felt threatened by his quickly growing kill count. On horseback, he ran Squire Foxy into one of the enemy’s traps, finishing the job before he could even attempt to free himself. Princess Charlotte freed Foxy from his trap, and allows him another chance to get revenge on Sir William.

Will Wood Raises $17,000 for New Album in Hours, Releases New Track

The provocative and “pathologically ambitious” singer-songwriter Will Wood has once again accomplished something that should not have been possible. In order to produce his upcoming album The Normal Album (featuring work by the multi-platinum producer behind Panic! At the Disco, Ariana Grande, One Direction, and The Used) Wood launched an Indiegogo campaign Friday afternoon, with a goal of $15,000 to fund recording, producing music videos, publicity, and touring. On Friday night, he reached his goal. And then he broke it.

In under ten hours, Will Wood raised nearly $17,000 in funding for the follow-up to 2016’s SELF-iSH (featuring work by members of Foxy Shazam, Dillinger Escape Plan, My Chemical Romance offshoot Frnkiero and the Cellabration) and the Indiegogo campaign is still set to run for another month. On an update on the Indiegogo Campaign’s webpage, Wood said, “This instant success says a lot about where this new era will be taking us, and has only encouraged me to become even more ambitious!” which is exactly what he would say.

What makes Wood’s campaign stand out as much as it does is not just its quick and numerically impressive success, but the sheer boldness of the perks he’s offering. In David Bowie fashion, Wood decided to sell off 10% of the album’s sales to the highest bidder as part of the campaign. And it sold for thousands. In celebration of the surprisingly quick and quirky windfall the avant-pop eccentric has stumbled into, Wood is making public a live-in-studio performance of a song slated to be featured on The Normal Album. The song is called, in classic Will Wood absurdist and wordy style, “Hurt People Hurt People. Hurt People? Hurt People!” and it was shot in front of a live studio audience at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ.

35. the queen was in the parlor (1932)

another cartoon with goopy geer! the last merrie melody, moonlight for two, DID star goopy geer, but i was hesitant to say so, unsure of whether it was just a lookalike, but the fact that he’s in this merrie melody leads me to believe that he was a bit of an entity for awhile. as the title suggests, the king returns to his castle to find his queen in the parlor, refusing to see anyone else.

as all good cartoons do, this one opens with a swaggering king atop his mule, greeted to thunderous applause as he steps off and marches down the aisle, eating up the attention.

quickly he grows tired of the “long live the king!” chants, snarling “but where’s the queen?” a group of knights whisper “the queen!” to each other down the line (imagine “hermie doesn’t want to make toys” from the rudolph special. it’s basically that), including a stereotypical jewish king at the end of the line. that certainly didn’t age well and makes me cringe as i watch it, but i digress.

a group of squires launch into a call and response rendition of “the queen was in the parlor”, the king providing various interjections throughout. love the barbershop harmonies as always! gags including a mouse popping out of a knight’s helmet to interject a verse, and a dog (an actual dog) clad in armor itches itself through the armor and lets out a bunch of fleas that have been hiding.

look at the personality in that walk! you know me, i’m all about my walk cycles and how they’re great indicators of personality when executed properly. great example of a prideful, no-nonsense and ultimately hard-to-take-seriously walk! the king marches into the castle to see what the fuss is about.

it turns out the queen WAS in the parlor! who would’ve guessed? she’s knitting away at a sock, while the poodle from the goopy geer cartoons (and freddy the freshman) is riveting away at a suit of armor. the king enters as his throne takes a life of its own and scuttles up to him, ready to be sat on in an act of servitude.

the king summons his jester, who is none other than goopy geer. again, another great walk cycle! unfortunately, it doesn’t say too much about his personality: it seems he adapts to whatever setting he’s in, whether he’s a lounge piano player, a redneck, or a jester. gotta give him credit on his versatility, though!

goopy provides a few bars about the king (old king cole), who “called for his crooners three!” the dog on his jester stick(?) says “crosby, columbo, and vallee!”,

which prompts the rudy vallee caricature from crosby, columbo, and vallee to pop out of a jack in the box and sing “for you”. i love my caricatures, so i find this particularly amusing, especially when old king cole hits rudy on the head and gripes “I’D RATHER HEAR AMOS N’ ANDY!”, a reference to the popular radio comedy show hosted by freeman gosden (amos) and charles corell (andy). unfortunately, as you can probably guess, the comedy show was a minstrel show—but it was adapted to television in 1951 where actual black actors took the stage. you learn something everyday! even though i was oblivious to what amos ‘n andy was until a google search later, the delivery is spot on and the joke hits just as well. i’m loving this bastard of a king—finally, personality!

after a brief impression of amos ‘n andy (again, this aged poorly), goopy skips down through the parlor, pressing his ear to a door. a dog, doing an impression of tony wons, asks “are ya listenin’?” he raises his fist and asks “HMMM?” to which goopy stammers “yeah, i’m walter winchell”, referring to newspaper columnist and radio commentator walter winchell, known for trading gossip around. a few alcohol bottles explode and goopy runs towards the camera, yelling “OKAY, CHICAGO!”, another reference to winchell. even though these icons aren’t at all relevant or known today, these jokes still fascinate me and i can only imagine how funny they were to a relevant audience!

we have our standard merrie melodies dancing interlude, with goopy dancing around and bouncing his feet off of a few spittoons. fun synchronization as always! there’s also a shot of a cat (the one from it’s got me again!) hunting a mouse, but getting scared off once the mouse emerges from its hole, clad in armor.

once more, the villain enters! he slams the door in the face of the fan-faring trumpeter, who blows out a few notes (sounding like a car horn) on his crinkled horn. the trademark “harman-ising flameball spit” comes into play once the villain spits on a suit of armor, reducing it to nothing but bones.

the poodle girl who was riveting a suit of armor is singing, and the villain advances on her, ready to kidnap. he runs off with her captive, but goopy swoops in to save the day.

spittoons, flaming spit, villains, damsels in distress, all of the essentials to a harman-ising produced cartoon all in one! sword fights can also be added to that list as goopy and the kidnapper engage in combat. goopy momentarily gets thrown into a cabinet, the crash forming a suit of armor made of pots and pans. goopy charges are the villain, who swings at him. now, a stuffed goat’s head falls on goopy.

in the manner of a goat, goopy rams into the villain, forcing his armor to break. the villain is exposed in his long underwear, and in some delightful, melty, rubber hose goodness, he mixes the shrapnel in a cocktail shaker (just like bosko in ups ‘n downs) and pours himself a brand new suit of armor, iris out as he runs for the hills.

as for as merrie melodies go, this one wasn’t half bad! the highlight of the short was definitely old king cole. i love him! i wish he had a bigger role in the short, he’s oozing with personality and all sorts of great possibilities. no offense to goopy, but he doesn’t do much for me. he’s pretty bland and lacking in personality, maybe even moreso than foxy and piggy. he comes off as more of a plot vehicle than a standalone character. i enjoyed the celebrity references—i learned some interesting new information today (though goopy talking in a minstrel dialect doesn’t age well at all, even for a quick joke, and the jewish knight joke is in extremely poor taste). there are better merrie melodies out there, but there are worse ones, too. i’d give it a watch, just because the king amuses me so much, but it wouldn’t be a crime if you skipped it this time.

Will Wood Launches Massive Indiegogo Campaign for “The Normal Album.”

Will Wood is finally gearing up to produce the follow-up to 2016’s SELF-iSH, an over-the-top intense concept record featuring work by members of Foxy Shazam, Frnkiero and the Cellabration, and the Dillinger Escape Plan. SELF-iSH and its accompanying singles were critically acclaimed, so this new record has big shoes to fill. The new album not-so-aptly titled The Normal Album, is Wood’s most ambitious project yet. The 10-track album about identity, morality, psychiatry, and what it means to be normal is slated to feature studio versions of fan favorites, new songs, and the upcoming single “Love, Me Normally,” produced by Matt Squire, the multi-platinum producer behind some of Panic! At the Disco, One Direction, Ariana Grande, and more’s biggest hits. Perfect fit, right? Normal.

To swallow what Wood himself has identified as “more than he can chew,” the notoriously eccentric and “pathologically ambitious” singer-songwriter has launched a remarkable crowdfunding campaign that is unlike any other endeavor of its kind. On Indiegogo (the revolutionary crowdfunding platform that helps artists give back to their contributors) Will Wood is offering some very unusual perks in exchange for his fans’ support. Through his Indiegogo campaign, fans can claim exclusive merch, pre-order the album, get their voice and face on the album itself, book private performances, and even… get this: purchase a share of the album’s profits. That’s right, Wood is selling portions of the album’s profits to fans. This, and all the other perks, are limited!

Will Wood has remarked “we’re not just producing a new album, we’re launching an entire new era,” and his ambitions are fully on display – he’s attempting to raise a whopping $15,000. After raising over $7,000 to produce a couple hundred vinyls of SELF-iSH in 2018, (nearly two years after its release) It might just be possible. If/when Wood hits his astronomically high goal, he plans to spend every dime on recording the album, producing a series of “shocking conceptual music videos,” hiring a PR firm to boost publicity, and touring in support of it all in the summer of 2020. In tandem with the Indiegogo campaign, Wood will also be releasing live-in-studio videos of him and his band, a group of virtuosic musicians he calls The Tapeworms, performing songs that are slated to feature on The Normal Album.
