De Tomaso Mangusta, 1967. The Mangusta was developed out of a failed attempt by Alejandro de Tomaso to supply Carroll Shelby with a CanAm race car. De Tomaso was unable to deliver the cars in time for the 1965 season and Shelby pulled out of the deal. De Tomaso adapted the steel backbone chassis of the still-born P70 CanAm car for road use and engaged Giorgetto Giugiaro who was then working at Ghia to design his mid-engined supercar powered by a Ford V8.

Early Ford V8 Museum - Floyd Motors for 1936
This wonderful museum is located in Auburn, Indiana. It's much improved since my last visit 8 years ago, and much bigger. A huge and amazing addition to the museum is the presentation of the Floyd Motors Ford Dealership for 1936. The entire display is filled with different models of the '36 Ford as well as a bunch of memorabilia, sales tools and loads of informative information. I was very impressed with the complete setup and display. This set is the 4th group.

The notorious Ford V8 that belonged to infamous crime couple Bonnie and Clyde.
The bullet holes are from 1934 when officers ambushed and shot the couple more than fifty times with automatic rifles and shotguns, ensuring they would not escape again. The iconic vehicle is currently housed in Whiskey Pete's Casino in Primm, Nevada.

De Tomaso Pantera GTS Group 4, 1973. This is the week the London Concours comes to my street. Here's a nice simple Tom Tjaarda-designed 1973 Pantera from a time before it received spoilers, air dams and extended wheel arches

ISO Rivolta Fidia
Bubblecar manufacturer Iso joined the ranks of supercar constructors in 1962 with the launch of the Giotto Bizzarrini-designed Rivolta coupé at the Turin Motor Show.Renzo Rivolta's Isothermos company had begun life pre-war making refrigerators, turning to the manufacture of scooters, under the Iso name, after the war and thence to the highly successful Isetta bubblecar.Interviewed for Octane magazine (issue 151) Renzo's son Piero recalled that his father liked sports cars but could not find one that really suited him; one that was fast, comfortable and reliable. “He decided that Iso should produce a fast car that was genuinely useable every day, and priced somewhere between a Jaguar and a Ferrari.” The result was the Rivolta.Iso's first supercar set the pattern for those that followed: Bizzarrini-designed chassis, Bertone coachwork and Chevrolet engines, its future developments including the long-wheelbase, Ghia-styled Fidia four-door saloon, the muscular, short-wheelbase Grifo and the Rivolta-replacement Lele.Iso's most successful model, the Rivolta was produced up to 1970, by which time a total of 797 cars had been built. The Iso Fidia (or Iso Rivolta Fidia or, originally, the S4) was a much rarer car, with only 192 known to have rolled off the production line. The first models were powered by a 5.4-litre 355HP Chevy V8, accelerating the saloon from zero to 60mph in about seven seconds. From 1973, however, a 5.8-litre Ford V8 engine was used, developing some 325HP.John Lennon bought the second Fidia ever made.

Formula drift at Englishtown tomorrow. Supposed to be 96 and I have to wear pants. Possibly the first time ever I'm not stoked to go to any car event…Hopefully I get some good shots out of it. Then it's off to Watkins Glen again for the 6 hour IMSA race.
