VACANZE

Non esiste cartina tornasole, come prova decisiva, delle vacanze estive per comprendere come il tempo passi. E come rimpianti si acuiscono.

Il tempo passa e smaschera le nostre incoerenze, le certezze di ieri non sono quelle di oggi così come i "non ce la posso fare" di ieri essere dei rimpianti di oggi.

Estate 2023.

Figlio uno partirà tra qualche giorno con amici in auto, destinazione Toscana; figlio 2 parte oggi con la sua Rebecca, destinazione Trentino. Uno al mare l'altro in montagna.

Entrambi lontani centinaia di chilometri da me.

Sono due ragazzi, i miei figli, che si sono visti frenare la loro vita sociale e di aggregazione, quando stava per nascere, dagli anni bui della pandemia. La scuola in DAD, le zone rosse, i coprifuoco e le mascherine a coprire i loro sorrisi da adolescenti.

Il distanziamento sociale che per alcuni adulti è stata una pausa, un gran respiro per staccarsi da situazioni tossiche, è stato per i ragazzi una brusca frenata nella loro vita sociale.

Come quando ti ritrovi a bloccare in frenata l'auto lanciata di corsa in autostrada, un rallentamento che altera inevitabilmente la media tempo/percorrenza.

L'anno scorso fu figlio 1 a fare il primo passo, chiese e ottenne di andare in Campania. Prese l'autobus autostradale una sera di agosto. Lo accompagnammo, ci salutò e salì in maniera composta sul mezzo.

Lo guardavo sbirciandolo dalla portiera dell'autobus, lo stavo osservando mentre guardava fuori dal finestrino quando venni distratto dalle voci concitate di due persone.

Uno dei due conducenti stava discutendo con un ragazzo perché sprovvisto di mascherina, per le norme in vigore non poteva salire.

Notai lo sguardo supplichevole del ragazzo, se avesse perso quel mezzo quella sera probabilmente gli sarebbero saltati tutti i suoi piani.

Ho immaginato a una famiglia che lo aspettava, a una compagna o a degli amici con cui poi partire per altre destinazioni.

Mentre pensavo a tutto ci mi ero mosso automaticamente raggiungendo la mia auto, tenevo sempre delle mascherine di scorta così ne presi una e la offrii al ragazzo.

Mi ringraziò e riuscì a salire a bordo. Fu allora che riguardando Daniele, mio figlio che probabilmente non si era accorto di quella scena, lo vidi in lacrime. Stava piangendo a singhiozzo.

Credo che sia stata una di quelle volte, in vita mia, in cui mi si è letteralmente fermato il cuore. Non potendo salire per motivi di sicurezza lo chiamai al telefono.

Lo ascoltai, lo rincuorai e gli dissi che tutto era a posto. Gli dispiaceva "lasciarci". Era la prima volta. Io sentivo il suo pianto, lui per fortuna non sentì il mio.

Quest'anno entrambi andranno per le loro strade. Strade di vacanze, più che meritate.

Sembra passato poco tempo da quando si stava attenti alla sabbia che poteva irritare gli occhi di bambini piccini, al sole che poteva ustionare pelli così delicate.

Oppure il tempo in cui correvano per la spiaggia e la paura di perderli tra la fola, che era un'angoscia costante.

I momenti in cui entravano in acqua e "Tranquillo pa' so nuotare", in quei momenti mi passava il ricordo di mia madre. Con i piedi ben piantati sul bagnasciuga, una mano su un fianco e l'altra a mo di saluto militare sopra gli occhi per proteggerli dal sole. Per vedermi meglio.

I segnali in codice "madre", le mani che mimavano i vari "vieni più vicino", "esci che hai le dita a spugna", "lì non tocchi spostati", "quando esci facciamo i conti". Segnali come quelli nautici, quelli fatti con le bandierine dai marinai.

Erano tante le madri, allora, in fila come un plotone di esecuzione sulla spiaggia. Con tutti quei segnali, i nomi dei propri figli ben scanditi a richiamare l'attenzione se si guardava verso il mare aperto, interrompendo il contatto visivo con il genitore madre.

Credo che se questi plotoni di madri degli anni '60 e '70, fossero stati messi sulle spiagge di Utah Beach oppure Omaha Beach in Normandia, nel giorno del D-day, ci sarebbero stati moltissimi meno morti tra gli alleati.

Le vacanze con i diavoletti ti portavano a bramare di ricominciare a lavorare, a volte, a farti capire che le vacanze analcoliche non erano certo di aiuto. Così la sera, quando tutti erano a letto, qualcosa di fresco e alcolicissimissimo era irrinunciabile.

Ora che scusa avrò per bere? Tutto sarà così silenzioso e irreale.

Eppure avrò il tempo di leggere quel libro, di riguardarmi quel film, di prendere il sole senza dover tenere un occhio aperto per vedere dove sono i marmocchi.

Potrò davvero rilassarmi.

Ma non sarà così, la chat di famiglia sarà monitorata di continuo per vedere se qualcuno ha scritto o condiviso qualcosa. Cercando di frenare la voglia di chiedere, anche semplicemente come va, per non passare da genitore tedioso. Che poi ottieni esattamente l'opposto.

Mi abituerò, nella vita ci si abitua a quasi tutto, ma sono sicuro che nel mio cuore non mi rassegnerò al fatto che quelle corse appresso ai pargoli e i castelli di sabbia, forse, sono stati dei momenti di grazia assoluta.

E come si dice spesso in questo caso mentre guardiamo foto o immagini degli anni passati, quando eravamo giovani noi, "eravamo felici e non lo sapevamo".

L'importante che loro lo siano oggi, intendo felici.

Per me ci saranno altri momenti di felicità. Questa sera pizza ad esempio. Ci vuole.

Magari offrirò i miei servigi di genitore apprensivo a giovani genitori social, quelli che invece di stare sulla battigia preferiscono le stories e i selfie. Ci penserò io ai loro mocciosi.

Nació en Buenos Aires en 1978 y desde 2011 reside en Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Se formó en el taller de Daniel Barraco y fue becario en el programa de estudios Proyecto Imaginario Interior dirigido por Martín Estol y María Elena Méndez donde realizó talleres con Ignacio Iasparra, Silvia Gurfein, Lorena Fernández, Alfredo Srur y Eduardo Stupía, entre otros. Participó en diversas muestras individuales y grupales. Fue finalista en el Premio FOLA “Pampa Energía” (2019), Salón Provincial de Artes Visuales Vendimia (2018), 102° Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales (2013), Premio Caraffa de Fotografía Contemporánea (2018), Premio Ayerza de la Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes (2014 y 2018), Bienal Arte x Arte (2015), etc. Obtuvo el primer premio en el concurso de la AACS “Pensar el suelo desde Latinoamérica, España y Portugal” (2012) y una Mención en el 104° Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales (2015). Actualmente se encuentra trabajando en el proyecto de edición de un libro de fotografías y continúa desarrollando la serie “Apuntes de un viajante”.
