Song of the Day: June 7
"STFU!" by Rina Sawayama
#song of the day#calling this one now only semi-arbitrarily--it makes sense to me but is maybe a dumb reason to declare the end of a day#my phone needs to be plugged in#my phone charges when I do--by which I mean I only ever remember/bother to plug it in when I lay down to try to sleep--#and I've got a really good battery and one of those superfast chargers so it usually doesn't die even when I'm struggling#but today is going to be a three day thing sort of--I slept a bunch (accidentally) Thursday afternoon and threw myself off again#and my phone is at 2% and won't load any more firefox tabs so that's it for Friday! hello Saturday the day my littles are coming!!#actually what's been stuck in my head today is the ee cummings poem [as freedom is a breakfastfood]#the first verse I have and the last I always have but the middle ones get muddled around on me. all out of order#'worms are the words but joy's the voice / down shall go which and up come who#breasts will be breasts thighs will be thighs / deeds cannot dream what dreams can do#--time is a tree(this life one leaf) / but love is the sky and i am for you / just so long and long enough'#I love Tolkien for his rockingchair rhythms and cummings for his open-handed nonsense#and I don't have much of a specific reason to pick this song for today#but it was playing earlier and I do love how she blended her maniacal laughter into the music. truly exceptional work

Permanent Blacklists for AO3
Would you like to permanently remove fics with your squicks, triggers, and dislikes from all AO3 searches by default so that you never have to think about or encounter them again? Well now you can!
The ability to do this has actually been around for a little while but it relies on some new CSS functionality that wasn't supported on all major browsers until fairly recently (though you may still have to enable it manually on some). I'm not going to explain how this method works or how to code AO3 skins in general, as I've only dabbled in it a little and there are already some very good tutorials out there. If you want all of the details, check out these guides:
Skins and Archive Interface FAQ – The official skins guide created by AO3. Lots of good information but might be overwhelming and confusing for a beginner.
A Non-Extensive Guide on How to Start Creating a Skin for AO3 by ao3skin – Some good, fairly easy to understand, beginner info on CSS and specifically how it applies to AO3 skins.
Permablocking Specific Tags - Site Skin by Eli0t – Everything you need to know to create permablock lists. If your blacklist doesn't seem to be working as expected, check this for troubleshooting tips.
What I can offer though are some handy pre-made blacklists that you can use as-is or as a starting point to create your own so that you don't have to go to the trouble of figuring out how any of this works or hunting down relevant tags. Just copy the code, open AO3, go to My Preferences > Skins > Create Site Skin, paste it in the box, title it, and click Submit!
Note: The following lists are very specific to me and my own personal tastes. Absolutely no judgement if you love any of the things that I choose to blacklist. You do you. I just happen to like my fics fucked up and relatively canonical.
★ No Reader Fic – Hides all self-insert and reader fic.
★ No Alternate Universes – Hides anything tagged with the most common AU tags. There are so many incredibly specific AUs there's no way to list all of them and AU tagging is also extremely inconsistent from fic to fic so this blacklist may only catch 80% of AUs, but that's better than nothing. You could always exclude the entire alternate universe tag, rather than trying to list specific ones, but unfortunately canon divergence and other less extreme AUs would get caught in the crossfire, which is not worth it for me.
★ No Fluff – Hides anything tagged with the most common fluff and romance tags. I specifically left out "fluff and angst" though because sometimes that's used for things that are mostly angst with only a bit of fluff and I do love angst.
★ Bonus: No Dead Dove – This list is not mine (for obvious reasons) but I know some people may find it useful. Hides anything with the main archive warnings and many common problematic, taboo, or controversial tags. Some of these I wouldn't even classify as dead dove, they're literally just kinks, so I'd suggest reviewing the list carefully and removing any that don't apply to you.
Additional Notes:
This system doesn't work exactly the same as AO3's exclusion filters because you can't use top-level wrangled tags to block all subtags. It only blocks exact matches.
Once the blacklist is implemented you'll see no indication that anything was blocked (except for fewer fics listed on each search page); the entire blurb will be hidden. The tags and fic counts listed in the filter bar will remain unchanged. If you want more advanced features like whitelisting or adding something to indicate when a fic was removed, check out the permablocking guide by Eli0t.
Here's a link with info on which browsers currently support the new "has()" element, which this blacklist system relies on. As of right now Firefox for desktop still has to be manually enabled (for instructions see the section on flag enabling in the permablocking guide). Firefox for iOS isn't listed on this website but it seems to work fine for me.
There are other browser-specific extensions that let you permablock tags, such as this one and this one, that may be more a little more user friendly, but I've never tried them so I can't vouch for them and they may not work consistently between different devices. The good thing about doing blacklists via skins is that, after setting it up once, it should work automatically on pretty much any device (as long as you're logged in to your AO3 account).
#I'm so stoked about this feature#it's a GAME CHANGER#I put a lot of effort into creating my blacklists#I couldn't not share them and hopefully make someone's life easier now that I've already done all the work#assuming anyone shares my preferences#ao3#ao3 skins#ao3 help#tutorial#wendy's help desk

K-101 - K-303 - K-505 - NEWS - TECH & CO
So it has begun ... the K-303 is on its own road and the first objects ready to be downloaded :) Our databases seem fully repaired and we can now focus on our projects ;)
But let's talk at first about the silent update of the K-101 ... @yuroge ( thanks for the feedback ! ) noticed that after a recent patch of the Sims 4, when uploading something to the Gallery, it was claimed as cc content, even when it was cc-free, only because of the K-101 use.
We found the solution. So, better to share it :) We stripped all the translations, info files and so on from the K-101 and we kept only the DST images. This way, whatever you use, it doesn't affect your exports to the Gallery.
Now, all you have to do is to re-download the K-101 :D
DOWNLOAD HERE
As you may noticed, we added on our website a kinda sims 4 expansions fundraiser for all people who really wish the K-505 for expansions AFTER Cottage Living ... The Wedding Story is already funded at 80 % :) So, I have only one word. As soon as an expansion is funded, I work on it, before my own projects and deliver it to all. Thanks to all the volunteers. I love you for this !
And now, as we receive messages about, let's make a bit of information for Simmers who have difficulties to download ... I made some pictures to show you that every K-Mod is fully downloadable :D
on PC :
As you see, no problem at all. At first, my firewall is stated on the medium and I do not have Anti Virus except the Microsoft ones.
My browser on PC is Firefox. Then I use 7z.exe to extract : it is free, easy to use and very very safe. I extract all my files inside the download folder then I add them manually into my Mods folder.
on Mac, it is even much more easy :
Downloaded with Safari, double-click the 7z files, extracted, done.
I'm not a PC guy but I'm pretty sure you may find some help and information among other Simmers.
Crinrict is an excellent website for many things Sims 4 related :) Courage to you ! I'm pretty sure you may do it ;)
That was a late Sunday afternoon post. See you soon !

hey! Quick question for you- I'm attempting to try using Tumblr on Firefox mobile, rather than the app. So far I'm liking it better, except... I *love* the ability to tap-hold-swipe on the reblog button and the (labs feature) queue button, aka fast queue.
Obviously, on mobile-web, long press doesn't.... Do that. Lmao.
Do you know if a way to do that currently exists in the mobile web version? If not I'll be happy to submit it as a feature request, but I know there's lots of little hidden features I don't know about in settings. I almost wonder if xkit would work on mobile web...
Anyway, thanks in advance, and thank you so much for all you do on Tumblr!
there is not a way to do that, no, because yeah, "long press" doesn't really exist on mobile web in a reliable way, as far as i understand. i used to rely on the same thing in the app! but i'm primarily a mobile web users now (Brave on iOS), and instead of long pressing, i use this, which pops up when tapping on the reblog button:
... and that fulfills all of my needs for fast reblogging, fast queueing, or popping open the reblog editor. it's one extra tap but i use all three of those options all day, every day, so it's worth it for me.
however, it looks like this is still something we're experimenting with, and you probably don't have it yet. i think we still are trying to figure out if this is the best solution. if you like the idea of it, you can send in feedback about it! i mean, send in feedback regardless.

Ok ... but you're cool enough to have your account hacked and deleted. This really sucks but at least you know you're making enough of an impact to make a difference! I loved your old blog, keep doing what you're doing. You post a lot of valuable information that's helpful and can offer support on a site full of misinformation. Happy to see you back!
Thank you!
Honestly, I was upset at first. No one is just cool about their blog being deleted, lol. I was mostly frustrated with myself for not being safe enough and not archiving my more recent posts. Once I came to terms with the fact that I couldn't do anything about it, I stopped beating myself up over it. Not much I can do except move on. C'est la vie.
For anyone with an online presence: here are some basic Internet safety guidelines you should be following.
1. Use burner emails. Not disposable emails, those are unreliable. Just make Gmail accounts, it doesn't take long at all. Make sure those aren't linked to your primary Google account, if you have one. Don't reuse emails. The fact that my email wasn't linked to anything else saved my personal info.
2. Use 2FA. I didn't have 2FA on my tumblr because I thought that might give someone access to my phone number, but your phone number is hidden anyway. That was a major blunder on my part. You can also use an authenticator app as a 2FA option.
3. Use a VPN. Not NordVPN or whatever dogshit VPN your favorite content creator is advertising, those sell your data to third parties, so it's pointless. There are tons of reliable and free VPN extentions for Firefox. On that note...
4. Use Firefox. Tons of privacy extensions available, and it's the safest browser to use by far. Don't use Chrome, and please do not ever use OperaGX. It's borderline malware and its "gamer" features aren't enough to make it worthwhile.
5. Don't save your passwords with your browser. Ever. It's convenient, but also puts all your eggs in one basket. If your main account is compromised, you're fucked. Make super long passwords with a password generator, then save those strings into an encrypted .txt file. Preferably saved locally, so that someone with access to your Google drive or Microsoft 365 account wouldn't gain access to every password you have. If you're really concerned, you could save the file to a physical USB key.
6. Archive everything. I use archive.ph, but you can also copy your posts into txt files or screenshot them. If you haven't already, export your blog. This gives you a .zip of your entire blog, with posts in html format.
This might feel like overkill to some, but it's worth taking the extra time to back things up and keep yourself safe.
If anyone has more safety suggestions, feel free to add them in the replies or reblogs.

I go by Kie or Kierax just about everywhere.
I am over the age of 25
I am comfortable interacting with minors on a strictly platonic setting. I was once one of them, rping my way into a love of writing. I'm fine with sharing that love, sharing a love for writing, a love for world building....I'm fully willing to plant the seeds of imagination in the next generation. I am NOT willing to do anything other than that. If you are a minor, any rp I do with you will be innocent, the darkest it can go is maybe some fight scenes and possible darker themes. That's it. Do not push me any further than that.
I am asexual biromantic. I am a Survivor. This means there will be very little to no smut or sexual things unless I am extremely comfortable with you.
This does not mean I am not willing to explore my characters romantic side. As long as things are fade to black, I'm okay.
Please do not pressure me in replying. I have ADHD, anxiety, and depression. All of these combined do not make a good cocktail for pressure, and if i’m pressured in interacting, replying, or other things then I get burnt out really fast. I do this because I enjoy it, so please don’t take my enjoyment out of it by putting a deadline on me.
That being said, if i’ve taken more than a week or so to even interact with you, feel free to poke me and just give me a gentle reminder! I don’t consider “hey we still good for that rp?” a pressuring measure, and I love to interact so i’d be thrilled to get a message!
I care very little about how other people run their blogs. I care very little about what topics you rp. If I enjoy talking to you, or writing with you, then I will do so. This means I do not take place in censorship culture. I will not shame you, or call you out based on what you find enjoyable. I know for a lot of people, writing and rp is a type of therapy, and most of us are adults here and can choose to disengage when something makes us uncomfortable.
I reserve the right to rp with whoever I wish. I do not pick sides. I will not choose one over the other. If you attempt to make me choose either you or someone else, unless I know you very well and we are close friends…I will likely choose the person who is not pressuring me to choose. Firefox and Chrome both have extensions that allow you to block almost all instances of a user on your blog, please use it. (the only exception to that is asks, and for that reason I do not answer asks, but instead make a new post.)
I try not to engage in drama. I do my best to keep in my own lane. I have in the past, voiced my opinions on topics that are related to me particularly or related to people I am quite close with. However, I try to stay out of it.
If, for some reason, you do something that unnerves me, upsets me, or otherwise is against my rules, if it is directly affecting me (Ie: in a reply or im) I will give you a warning. If you do it again, then I will let you know and unfollow. In the case of me seeing it on my dash, you will not get a warning unless we have interacted quite a bit, I will immediately unfollow.
I curate my space based on my likes. If you don't like my likes, my interactions, then the unfollow button is right there. I don't care. I'm here to have fun, to blow off steam, and to enjoy myself. I'm not your baby-sitter, and I don't ever plan on being one. There are many different ways you can make sure you don't see something. Use them.
#{out of luck} ooc#guidelines#rules#posting these as their own post so i can do something a bit more coherent#since the big post is too big LOL

Hello! I hope everyone is having a lovely day today.
There's something we want to talk to everyone about regarding posts and replies.
It is very important that everyone read this post in full, so please do so! We'll be able to tell who has and who hasn't, and anyone we notice hasn't read it will receive a link to this post via tumblr and discord until we know it's been read. You've been warned!
As you probably know, Tumblr launched a new post editor a couple of years ago that hasn't been officially, fully implemented onto the site. Because of this, when making posts and doing replies, some of us are still able to toggle on and off between the legacy editor (the one we've been using for years now) and the new one. However, back in May, tumblr announced that they would start removing the legacy editor for some users, meaning that the eventual takeover of the new post editor is inevitable. Because of this - and a lot of reasons that we will go into further detail below - we think it's time to say goodbye to the legacy editor and only use the new post editor when posting starters and doing replies.
The thing is, as much as we love the legacy editor (RIP), you've probably noticed that sometimes using it to reply to posts that were created with the new post editor will make them a bit... wonky, to say the least. Your reply will appear twice, maybe the entire post will duplicate and then be impossible to delete (or simply require too much energy to fix). It complicates things for everyone. It's not anyone's fault! It's Tumblr's updates. It's also very hard to know when a post has been made using the legacy editor vs. the new post editor, so it's impossible to know whether a reply will work or not. To make things easier for everyone, I think it's important we all switch to the new post editor starting effective immediately.
Here's a couple of questions you might have.
Does XKit work with the new post editor?
The short answer is no. At least not the New XKit, the extension we've been using for ages now. If you've been roleplaying for a while, you probably remember there was an extension simply called XKit before New XKit came about, which was back when tumblr changed their post format the last time circa 2015. They got rid of blockquotes in reblogs! Remember? You couldn't edit your partner's reply even if you tried. And they did it again, except this time, it was a little harder to fix, so New XKit is no longer working with this new format. Reblogs using the new post editor look differently now. You can see an example of the difference below.
Does that mean I can't cut posts anymore?
Nope! You still can. The process is a little different, but if we're all using the new post editor, it shouldn't be very complicated.
You can use something called ✨ XKIT REWRITTEN ✨
It's another extension! (everyone say: thank you devs)
Because we are no longer allowing anyone to use the legacy editor, I would encourage everyone uninstall the New XKit extension you have and replace it with this one. It has basically the same features as the last one and is very user-friendly!
Download for Chrome
Download for Firefox
How does Trim Reblogs even work?
You can find a guide to using Trim Reblogs that explains it a million times better than I ever could right here. We'll have it linked in the resources channel on the discord as well, in case you need to check it out.
What about my current replies using the legacy editor?
Because we know you have active threads using the legacy editor, we'll allow you to play those out still using New XKit and editable reblogs, but any and all starters going forward have to be made using the new post editor. If your replies with your partner are duplicating or not working, you can either continue to write them that way, removing any duplicates if possible, or reach out to them and ask them what they want to do; try to figure something out that works for both of you.
So, TL;DR (but I DO hope everyone read this!):
Using the legacy editor will no longer be allowed in the roleplay. If you are currently using the legacy editor in replies, finish those but going forward, please post every starter and reply using the new post editor, install XKit Rewritten and toggle on Trim Reblogs to be able to cut your posts.
If you have any questions at all regarding this new rule (because we'll be adding it to the rules shortly with updated information and links to everything you'll need) please feel free to reach out to us!
To make sure everyone read this, I'm going to go very Tumblr 2012 and ask you to like this post and send me a discord message with a picture of your favorite animal. Thank you.

kicking my feet rn. okokokok.
Have you checked the time?
the contents of the rar. decidedly not a zip bomb, despite my earlier concerns. I am going to be focusing on the audiofile and kid.puppet, the note from Robyn says i can share my findings except for the png. if you want to see whats in there, do the work yourself. To be honest part of me wanted to keep all of this for myself but that’s no fun now is it?
I currently don’t have too much to say about the audio, its very ominous, and my headphones aren’t good enough to pick up on any potential hidden bits. Considering how late of an addition the rar is though, I wouldn’t be suprised if looking will be a fruitless effort. Im not that good with those kinds of things anyways.
Carrying themes over, our file name is cut the strings. It sounds like warped bells, a low ring in the background, with eerie distorted bells on top. They change in pitch, low then high then low then high. I will be sleeping with one eye open thank you very much.
moving on to kid.puppet (fun file name btw) opening it in firefox leads us to a page with this text:
yoxjxpti . [20 21 13 2 12 18] . com
you know what that translates to? timesend.tumblr.com
LETS GO!!!!!!!!
Nothing seems to hidden here, this is a nice little bit of pay off for hard work. Obviously if you want to see for yourself, the link is right there, but I’m just going to cover it anyways cause HEEHEEHEE im so excited.
The image above is of the lovely welcome page. We get a sweet little insight into the bookstore’s operations, closed on Sundays, 10-7 during the week and 10-5 on weekends. Its noble pursuit is to preserve banned, old, and hard-to-find books. You can see along the side the AHiT novels, and while any links don’t lead to a purchasable hatty time novel, they do lead somewhere else just as fun :). It was established Oct 11th, 20XX and local time is 2:19:23.
LOOK AT HOW CUTE SHE IS!!!! i miss her.
Our other big page is the contact page! Here we get a little info on this bookstores lovely founder, Kid! She enjoys antique books, parkour, hourglasses, and apparently is not allowed in the kitchen. Seeing the state of the kitchen in hatty time, I feel like this is well warranted.
At the bottom there is contact information which I will not be trying as I know for a fact that’s the rickroll phone number and I am too lazy to email shit.
Overall I am really happy with how this played out. This feels like a satisfying end to the puzzle. Anyways I am now 10x more mentally ill than i was before and if you knew how psychological professionals talked about me you would KNOW that’s a feat. So congrats Robyn! You did it! YIPPEE!!
#twtt puzzle moment#I wonder if the next proper puzzle will be twtt related or if this is gonna be like#a formal goodbye to the tag#outside of puzzle related jokes and stuff#man#i love you twtt puzzle

mahonia & jasmine please <3
Thank youuu <3
mahonia: what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?
I’d have to say consuming media. I know that is very broad but it really does help inspire me!
When I’m consuming media and I have that lightbulb of inspiration I immediately put down the book, pause the show/song, click off firefox, swipe off of Pinterest, stop whatever I’m consuming at the time and open up Google docs, find the correlating [wip] idea doc and just spill out my idea which turns into more than just the original idea, sometimes that one drop of inspiration helps me outline out a scene or even an entire wip, sometimes—even better imo—a characters backstory and motivations!
After that I’ll go to Pinterest look up terms relating to said new idea/s and a good bit of the time the cycle repeats!
jasmine: do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?
Yeah, a good bit of the shows/books I read I will most likely never read again. My brain—probably bc of my adhd—when it sees/reads something for the first time it’s like “okay, cool, what’s next?”
Of course there are a couple exceptions to this, a few examples of them are:
Kuroshitsuji
Satsuriku no Tenshi(and it’s prequel)
inu x Boku ss
SpongeBob
acomaf
akudama drive
gearbreakers
dragon age
Fairytales.
There are probably a few others I can’t think of.
But the ones I loved that I know I will never read/watch again? Here are a few:
Supernatural(I think that’s self explanatory, I can’t watch it knowing how it ends. It’s painful.)
crescent city series(listen tog is amazing and acotar is good but can be iffy cough acos/f cough but it gave me characters/ships I love but something is lacking in cc idk quite what it is but it just feels lacking maybe it’s the multiverse and confusing worldbuilding and how I like Aidas more than Hunt who is endgame)
the recruit(still seething over that ending wth)
manifest(I love it but also still seething over that ending)
the sinner
prodigal son(that ending? Wtf)
ahs hotel, asylum, 1984, & apocalypse
life is strange before the storm(just pain)
happy sugar life
koe no katachi(*sobs*)
shield hero(raphumi is everything)
death parade(it killed me. I didn’t cry, kimi no na wa was the first anime I ever cried over but my god it got close. Decim & Chiyuki are just *screams*)
The arcana(Julian & Lucio are 💗)
Harry potter(yeah, that is very self explanatory)
Mirai Nikki(first anime ever, but like wow, wild shit)
Law & order and all its spin offs
Given(sad as hell oh my god)
#a m answers#this was really really fun#I love reminiscing over old things that#has brought me serotonin

@eachinitsowntime the original post is getting long as fuck and this will be no different!
i'm not like an expert in advertising and I dont work in marketing anymore, so I can't give you all the nasty little tricks they're using right now. i can go through and point out the ways ads are probably wheedling their way into an admittedly quite well developed shield against them,* but i think it would ultimately be a kind of misdirection. you're doing everything you can--except i don't see adblock mentioned. switch to firefox and get ublock origin.
the point is more that you'll just never be fully immune and you'll never block out every ounce of advertising or its impact on you. no adblock will ever be perfect enough to get everything, and there's no escape Outside either--your mailbox filled with flyers and coupons and postcards and pamplets, every inch of every major street plastered in signs and billboards, the assault on the senses of commercial districts with the eerie and homogenous wasteland of suburbia its primary alternative. the og post is more like reminding everyone that ads are a very very normalized cognitohazard and they’re everywhere. i would encourage you to think of advertising as the evil mad scientist version of psychology with no ethics and one mission: encourage you to Buy Product. like if psychologists with access to simply incomprehensible amounts of data were trying to brainwash you into really fucking wanting a chia pet. in an endless sea of suggestions, you will eventually take one. new makeup or dnd dice or jewelry or a shirt or anything. eventually, you will be open to suggestion for whatever reason and an ad will hit.
*the wheedles + comments to eachinitsowntime under the cut
1. so the first thing I want to point out is that autistic people are (IN GENERAL) more resistant to social conditioning than other groups. it's why you see things like higher rates of gender nonconformity among autistic people. your write-up about looking for new products is honestly an excellent example of some of the reasons autistic people are more resistant to social conditioning-- like sensory restrictions. THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOU IMMUNE. but it explains why you're naturally limiting your exposure to ads
2. I'm not autistic but my partner is and I feel like the post said multiple times not to ignore the feedback and now you may need "permission" to say you've taken the feedback in, considered it, and have determined no more action is required of you. If that's what's going on, here you go. you engaged fully, considered your buying habits, and reaffirmed that you have a consistent system that works and limits your vulnerability to advertising. task complete
the wheedles
first step is the advertising that worked on your parents. you were born into a home with preexisting habitual products, they were the ones you got used to and comfortable with, and many of the brands you use now are probably just the ones your mom bought all through your childhood. this happened before you were born and turned you into the ideal customer--loyal and consistent, unwilling to deviate and unlikely to try a competitor. that type of customer is less vulnerable to advertising for products they're already loyal to, but they can be convinced of the need for new supplementary products.
second step is the advertising that's working on your family and friends that generate the recommendations. odds are they tried that product instead of others because of THEIR exposure to ads. if your data security isn't tight, they'll get targeted advertisements based on YOUR activity to suggest to you. even if you aren't seeing the ads designed for you, data scrapers are collecting every ounce they can about you to add to a digital advertising profile and will push it to everyone in your circle to increase the social pressure on you or convince the loved one to get it for you as a gift. the digital advertising profile works by getting a single piece of reusable information--email or phone number-- and then using cookies, social media activity, and search history to assemble preferences that are permanently tied to that email or phone number. it's nearly impossible to find all of your data scraping profiles among the literal hundreds of data brokerage firms and equally as hard to get a single one of them to delete the data they've collected on you.
special interest ads, targeted or otherwise. i'm just gonna assume you've got a special interest. targeted advertising was revolutionary for these fucks because we know everyone is more vulnerable to ads for products or product types where there was a preexisting interest. on the street among the billboards or while you scroll through social medias, familiar brands and desired products will catch your eye over others, remind you of their existence and that you don't have it yet, and wear down your self control one exposure at a time. this is more damaging if your special interest is currently lucrative or popular--legos or minecraft or makeup.
Content like satisfying/ reorganization/ lifestyle videos. so like. no idea if this specifically applies to you, just a hypothetical for use as an example. let's say you have a tiktok account and a penchant for those organizing videos that are basically some rich lady restocking her whole ass house like it's a fuckin walgreens (i do not have a penchant for these, i actually hate them. sorry i picked a pet peeve for the example). now, if you watch enough of those videos, you start to think about all the things in your house or kitchen or pantry or shelf or drawer that could fit in various sizes of storage container and what kinds of storage containers or baskets you'd like and you start to forget that NONE of that shit required boxes or baskets before because now you kind of just Want them to Be In Another Layer Of Container. because it's satisfying and you know it's satisfying because you watch "satisfying" videos of rich ladies restocking their households all day and are satisfied. and now you're purchasing a Bunch More Products you didn't even know about and just did not need 2 months ago. that type of thing is what I mean by cognitohazard. it's kind of a hard question to ask, but what types of Content are you consuming where the primary difference between it and you is the presence of a Product? and how many times will you watch videos of Product before realizing you can Own Product and "skip the middleman." videos of squelchy putty or kinetic sand or legos being put together or a playthrough of a video game. all of them make you more likely to buy that stuff the next time you see it

I'VE BEEN PONDERING MANAGERS
Your early twenties are exactly the time to take insane career risks. That's the sense in which startups pay better on average, because there is more room for spikes. If the smaller investments are on convertible notes, and convertible notes have not valuations but at most valuation caps: caps on what the characters said and did the subtler clues, the better. Unless you're experienced enough at fundraising to have a remedial character. These are some of the biggest remaining obstacles is pride. And the best paying jobs are most dangerous, because they get their pick of all the startups. In most, corruption still has the upper hand. They have an answer, certainly, but odds are it's wrong. Like chess or painting or writing novels, making money is a very specialized skill. Maybe successful hedge fund managers are mean; I don't know why I avoided trying the statistical approach.1
It is just as true today, though few of us create wealth directly for ourselves except for a few specialists like thieves and speculators something you have to try very hard to make themselves rich. This question makes founders feel they should be planning to raise. For the average user, all the online stores were built by hand, by web designers making individual HTML pages. Be nice. I'll talk about tricks for coming up with startup ideas on demand. They all say they love you, but they need you to come in for one meeting to meet some of the biggest remaining obstacles is pride.2 But Balzac lived in nineteenth-century France, where the Industrial Revolution was well advanced. Thanks to Jessica Livingston and Chris Steiner for reading drafts of this. That's an interesting idea.
What counts as a substantial offer depends on who it's from and how much it is. They may also make the biggest investment. 96. I have to admit it's one of those rare people who have x-ray vision for character. It may seem unlikely in principle that one individual could really generate so much more distracting that I had to add a new application to my list of known time sinks: Firefox. You can probably start a startup and make them buy it to get you? Tv are a good example of close friends who work for big companies. It's inconvenient to do something. So perhaps one reason schools work badly is that they're too much influenced by recipes for wisdom have an element of subjection. Yesterday one of the reasons they did was that it used a TV for a monitor, which seemed intolerably déclassé to a high-school kid. A fundraising, and decide they should raise money too, since that seems to be growing. They say that they didn't have the people yelling insults out of cars.
Maybe successful hedge fund managers are mean; I don't know enough to say. How much were you planning to spend? At YC we're excited when we meet startups working on things that could be taught better by itself. A greedy algorithm takes the best of the options in front of a computer that could only ever have appealed to Harvard students, it would be to make the headers look innocent, but my guess is that it lets you jump over obstacles.3 The big change that experience causes in your brain. Meet such investors last if at all. Better to let the wrong idea become the top one, rather than their words. This was easier to grasp when most people lived on farms, and made many of the things the internet has shown us is how mean people can be. The unsexy filter, because the advice I've given is essentially how to play hardball back. It's oddly nondeterministic. An early stage startup.4

But I think this is so valuable that visitors should gladly register to read this to realize that species weren't, because even being deliberately misleading by focusing so much from day to day indeed, is this someone you want to save money, the light bulb, the higher the walls become. I'm not saying, incidentally, that suits took over during a critical period.
Economically, the space of careers does.
This just seems to be a niche. This is the proper test of success. In a typical fund, half the companies that tried to pay the bills so you could try telling him it's XML.

Oct. 2012: Response 2
I had an epub class that was partially about ebooks and publishing for ebooks and partially about information literacy in the age of the internet. There's some odd reflection pieces scattered around related to that, so we'll throw those in here.
--------Response follows------>
I tend to pick up information by chance. I don’t get info through TV, typically—I don’t have or want cable as I don’t much enjoy television, and what I do watch (thank you, Netflix) tends to be along the lines of Doctor Who or Game of Thrones with the occasional bout of How How It’s Made or Dirty Jobs. I have a hard time focusing on spoken word—it contributes to my disinterest in TV—so radio and podcasts tend not to be options as I invariably discover that I stopped paying attention three minutes in and any attempt to go back and pick up what I missed results in my catching only three additional minutes. As to print, books suffer from much the same trouble as TV except that I love books—it’s just that I’d rather read fiction than non—I dislike magazines almost entirely—the writing tends to be bland, bland, boring, bland, with very few subjects of actual interest, even in a quality magazine, so they just don’t hold my interest for more than a few paragraphs—and newspapers are unthinkable; they’re far too unwieldy to even consider reading. Thus, I get information through word of mouth and the websites that I follow, picking up a new tidbit here and there.
Usually the new tidbit is enough for me as they’re often trivial tidbits: what new videogames are coming out (doesn’t matter; I’m too poor to buy things as they come out) or dogs saving their owners from sure death (which is touching and all, but I don’t really need to know, do I?) or which celebrity did what (information I immediately excise from my mind), etc. When something is interesting or needs me to form an opinion, I typically set about searching not for the single most reliable source that will give me the one true, most factual answer but rather for as many perspectives as possible. I like to find the two extremes on a given issue and compare what they have in common. I’ll also try to get a few more neutral sites and a purely factual one, if possible, to round things out. If I’m lucky, there’ll be a third or fourth perspective available. I very much believe in context and circumstance as the determining factor for most human decisions and traits, so it seems only logical to me to look at a single thing from as many angles as possible to uncover all of its possible contexts and thereby not only discovering the commonalities in all the stories, uncovering the incontrovertible facts that way, but coming to my own conclusion on the subject by taking the best points of all perspectives and weighing them against each other.
In terms of actual tool-usage, I find I don’t need to be too choosy. There are some sites I continually return to (The Escapist, Gawker, Boing Boing, Jezebel though I take them with an extra heaping pile of salt, The Huffington Post which is similarly salt-worthy, The Daily What, the BBC, etc.) and a few tools I use for very specific tasks; I like online databases for questions related to the arts, in particular, and I have a Firefox add-on specifically to help with finding the best deal when shopping. I also tend to peruse specialty forums if I need advice on something, whether that’s what computer to buy or how to modify a GoGo Boot to make Chell’s Long Fall Boots for a Halloween/PAX East costume. In general, I find that I prefer to do a mini version of crowdsourcing, gathering info from the specialist, the hobbyists, and the passionate and gathering as much of it as possible, instead of seeking out one site that claims to have the final say. Anything that looks like an ad, exhibits poor copyediting or extremely unkempt design, uses an overly cocksure and snarky tone without providing links and other sources to back itself up, and anything that displays a cruel or morally corrupt sense of humor receives none of my attention, and I shun the offending website in future searches. Other than these criteria, I’m pretty much open to any source, though not in isolation; it must be paired with its opposite and then several halfway points. That way, I feel as though I have not only facts but a full picture.

“Carol, when will you be coming back to Earth?” Natasha queried.
“Not in a while. The planet I’m at was hit hard by the snap. A civil war could break out if I don’t interfere soon.” the pilot languidly explained. Carol’s usual confident demeanor was weakening by the second. She, like the rest of them, was exhausted.
“Understood. Let’s end this meeting for now and touch base soon.” Those who remained of the Avengers said their goodbyes, leaving Natasha alone again.
The assassin visibly slumped in her seat. It was currently 6:00 p.m. Someone who cared for her, a relative or friend would tell her to make dinner. But no one was there to do so. Hours passed like minutes and before she knew it, the redhead had fallen asleep on her humongous stack of papers. A little drool soaked a document-turned pillow. She sat up with a groan and sighed. Nat thought she might as well send it in any way, as she used the sleeve of her maroon sweater to violently rub on the paper. Natasha had been having a terrible day for the past five years now. Every time she’d think that things couldn’t get worse, the universe would prove her wrong. The majority of the responsibilities of leading the Avengers fell on her, thus beginning the feeling of crushing weight on her shoulders. If Natasha wasn’t working, she was asleep, and she didn’t sleep much. She’d volunteer at the nearby shelters, help ration supplies, and work with people who had been alone like she was. Nat was no stranger to being alone. But its presence was not a friendly one. Tony was gone. He and Pepper were secluded in a little cabin, with a new toddler, and everything they needed. God knows where Bruce or Clint was. Steve would come and go, often taking missions in foreign countries. He’d do anything to avoid being in your old apartment. It was dusty and barren – and it reeked of guilt. Although the captain continued doing the best he could, most of the responsibility fell on Natasha. She continued to rub out the stain on the document with growing agitation. The crinkly tear was unpleasant, ringing in her ears as if it were mocking her. Maybe she could send a drool-stained document in, but she sure as hell couldn’t send in a ripped one. On her last nerve, she threw the contents out and began heading to her room.
Only Natasha could navigate the organized chaos that was her room. But the room had an emptiness to it. Despite being filled with things that had belonged to her, and to people she loved, they were soaked in the dust. Upon further inspection, it would’ve seemed that she hadn’t touched some of those things in years. Natasha headed towards a soft, lumpy pile that lay next to her bed. She fished a familiar item out and frowned. Y/N’s hoodie. The last time she saw you, you had eagerly lent it to her. “I know you want to be all cool and tough Nat, but you can’t fool me! Just take the damn hoodie!” The Russian was never one for being vulnerable, but she’d make an exception for you. The soft baby-blue garment scrunched up in her clutching hands, its cozy essence standing apart from everything else in the room. It was glowing with its apparent usage and obvious lack of dust. A bit smelly too. Natasha felt the need to hide every time she’d do this. She’d hold your hoodie close to her as if she were holding a hollow shell of you. The assassin refused to wash it. Somehow after all these years, she could detect your familiar scent. She took in a deep breath and held. 20 seconds had passed and she was still holding it in. It was one of the only pieces of evidence that you had indeed, existed, working against the startling fact that you were gone. When she forced herself to exhale, small, silent tears began to flow from her glassy eyes. Even all alone in the compound, she hated crying too loudly. If she remained quiet, no one would know a thing. No one would know how much she loved you.
The blonde soldier awoke with a start. He silently cursed at himself for making that mistake again. Assuming that you would be laying next to him, head tucked in his muscular arm, content and comfortable from the torments of the world. But what greeted him had been a blonde head of hair on top of a bareback that slept towards the window. Sharon Carter. Back when he refused to sign the Sokovia Accords, she was just a friend and trusted ally. A reminder of what he had lost so long ago. With you being his wife, other romantic endeavors hardly crossed his mind. And then you started to drift apart. Steve took no joy in pushing you away, but the last thing he wanted was for his dangerous life to interfere with yours. Although the captain can admit, maybe he pushed a little too far. So much in fact that he had inadvertently created a rift that neither of you could repair; all for the sake of his peace of mind. He despised that the last words exchanged between you two were so painful. “I don’t want to have children with you.” Even now, he could hear your muffled sobs behind the hotel door with a horrifying clearness. He could’ve sworn you were right next to him.
To say the captain was hesitant to date again was an understatement. When the blip had first occurred, he was dead-set on bringing you back. Even when things were the worst, he and the Avengers always found a way. Then you’d all be together again; a dysfunctional yet tightly knit family with lots of time to make up for. Steve would finally be able to tell you how sorry he is. All of his guilt and regret would come forth into the open. But now he knew that was just wishful thinking. Years had passed and he had only just mustered up the courage to ask out Sharon. That could only happen after years of guilt and grief, leading to the inevitable: acceptance. His support group helped a lot, and eventually asking Sharon out didn’t seem so self-serving. You’d want him to be happy, right? At least that’s what he kept telling himself. On nights like these, Sharon would always fall asleep immediately, leaving Steve to hold her with nothing but you in his thoughts. He couldn’t be here anymore.
Steve rose up from the bed as quietly as he could, sneaking towards a pair of shoes, his keys, and a brown leather jacket. The captain would be out for a while. He desperately needed to leave a place that made him feel like something wrong towards you; the contrary of a husband: a traitor.
“Natasha, please.”
“No.”
“I beg of you, Nat. I need this. I need you.”
“No.”
“But you’re the only one who can do this!” you cried.
Natasha sighed. She knew you’d get to her eventually. You and your alluring presence, perking up adorably at the sight of her giving in. Nat knew how delighted you’d be if she accepted, and she wasn’t one to lose out on an opportunity to make you smile. Regardless of how ridiculously childish it felt.
“Fine. I’ll get you the damn seal.”
The amusing sounds of carnival music, laughter, and tacky game effects filled the vicinity. There it stood, powerful and commanding, only a few booths away from you and Natasha. A titillating game of bullseye, all for the prize of an adorably plump seal doll. It had clearly enamored you the second you laid your eyes on its strange, and quite frankly, painful-looking ones. Poor carnival seal. If anyone had the coordination and skill to rescue it from its prison; it would be Nat. She really tried her best to seem nonchalant. But it wasn’t easy with you standing so close to her, squealing in anticipation whenever she hit the target. It felt surreal when you kissed her cheek.
“Natasha! You fucking did it!”
Nat’s face in concentration melted into a soft smirk. That fluffy seal would be your prize, and you being so happy would be hers.
“I’ll take the seal for this lovely lady,” Natasha felt bold, glancing towards you. A surge of confidence radiated off of her once she gave you the enormous plush doll. Making you happy wasn’t a chore, it was an honor.
“Nat. Thank you! You’re the best, really,” you chirped, before lunging into her for a hug. Natasha always spoiled you and it never ceased to flatter you. If anyone else had asked her to play a carnival game to get them a seal doll, she’d laugh in their face. Knowing how much she favored you, as much as you enjoyed being with her had filled you with a sense of longing.
“Anything you want Nat. You’ve dealt with me going absolutely insane over… well over all of this!” You gestured towards the scenery surrounding you. A moderately packed carnival glowed in the evening dusk, the lively lights, and chatter enough to affirm that people were still awake. You had asked Steve to go with you, but he apologetically turned down your date offer. He had a long mission in Europe to leave for, and once he was back the carnival would likely be gone. You loved these little pieces of fun in life. Small reminders of your childhood, sacred places to hide away from the clutches of adult responsibility. You were desperate for a break, and Natasha saw that when your face fell at the sight of Steve leaving. She couldn’t leave you alone like that.
“Anything?” she asked in a whisper, almost shyly.
“Yes, Natasha. Anything.”
Natasha’s eyes opened immediately, alert and prepared as always. The bright light from her phone illuminated her bleak, dark bedroom. Steve would be coming by. Great. If anything could derail that intoxicating dream, it was him. Her copper hair swished as she turned towards the clock. 6:00 a.m. It was still dark out. She had only gotten four hours of sleeping and it showed; but quite frankly, she couldn’t care less. Natasha groggily left her room to greet Steve (and maybe even punch him for waking her up.) She turned down a hall where the plexiglass window revealed a sullen Steve, sitting with his bare feet submerged by water.
With an exasperated sigh, she hugged her hoodie closer to her, as if to fight off the goosebumps that started to form.
“Isn’t it a little late for beer, Cap?”
Steve turned with a small smile.
“I think I’m entitled to a drink or two on the weekend, Nat.”
“Well then, I guess I am too,” she said as a matter-of-factly, sitting down next to him, legs crossed and shaking from the cold. In an attempt to numb herself, she swiped a fresh beer from his hand.
“I know you well enough to know when you’re upset, Steve,” Natasha continued, “Why the hell is Captain America drinking at 6 in the morning?”
Steve paused. Natasha was nothing if not relentless.
“...I feel guilty.”
“Here here, man. We’ve all been in that boat. I mean, we’re supposed to be the Avengers and we couldn’t even stop all of this bullshit.” She was clearly too tired for pleasantries.
“Don’t get me wrong Nat, I do feel that way. But I was referring to Y/N.”
She retained the sound of your name with a jolt of pain. The spy had gotten far too familiar with not hearing it. It broke her heart to notice another sign that you were fading away.
“I’ve started dating again… but I can’t stop comparing her to Y/N,” he sighed.
Natasha would begrudgingly continue to do what she had always done. The right thing. It wasn’t his fault that she was hopelessly in love with his wife.
“Steve, that girl loved you more than anything.”
“Not exactly helping, but-”
“Jeez, let me finish! I mean that she loved you enough to want you to be happy. I’m positive that the last thing she’d want is for you to spend the rest of your life in pain over her. It would break her heart. If you’re really serious about this new girl, appreciate her for what she is rather than what she’s not.”
“I guess that is what she’d want,” he paused.
“What do you want, Nat?” Steve suddenly asked, cloudy blue eyes glancing towards her.
“World peace. A Thanos torture chamber. Another beer, perhaps. What do you mean?”
“You’re wearing her hoodie.”
Natasha was at a loss for words. She’d wear the thing so much she hadn’t taken into account that people would remember it belonged to you. Steve was frowning, staring down into the water with a hesitant look. He began to speak, his tone pained and honest.
“I’m not an idiot Nat. I should know if one of my best friends is in love with my wife.”
“I… don’t want to talk about this with you.”
“If you have something to say, just say it. You’ve been itching to punch my face for years now, haven’t you?” he asked.
She had managed to keep her emotions in check for all these years, and she wasn’t going to give up now. Not because Steve was depressed with a death wish. Natasha briskly got up, itching to leave whatever this was.
“I’m not mad, Nat. I just want to talk about Y/N with someone who understands-”
“No, you fucking don’t!” So much for keeping it all in.
“For years, I have stood by while you were with her. I let you because I thought you could handle it, treat her better than I ever could. And then you fucking leave her for the niece of your ex? Unlike you, I will not stop fucking mourning. I refuse to stop until I’ve torn apart every last bit of those who’ve taken her from me, and you just gave up! Why do you get everything for not doing a damned thing?” Her emotions spilled out like wildfire, finally bursting into flame after years of being contained. Regardless of the aggressive nature of her words, she was honest. That was enough for her.
For a second time that night, Steve had felt guilty. He shouldn’t have brought it up. Here he was, picking a fight with the woman who had only sought to put everything back together. Before he could speak, her confused voice filled the silence.
“Someone’s at the door,” both of their eyes instinctively bored into the surveillance screen as if they hadn’t even been arguing in the first place.
“Oh my god.”
“What is it?”
“It’s Scott.”
Shock. It tore through your body like rose thorns, paralyzing you in a state of utter confusion. You were back in the hotel as if all of the dust had come together the second you broke apart. Although, it was different. Your eyes scanned the room frantically. Somehow, it was no longer the same bedroom you were in seconds ago. Now it was a sort of sitting room. Whose apartment was this?
In a frenzy you ran for the door, desperate for answers. All of your belongings from what used to be your hotel room were gone, leaving you with no phone and even more questions. You sped down the stairs into the lobby, desperate for even a glimpse of someone else. What you had descended into was chaos. People were running around the ostentatiously decorated lobby, just as confused as you were.
“This man keeps calling my apartment his fucking hotel room!”
“I swear, I didn’t break-in. That was my hotel room before-”
Before he disappeared, you thought. You weren’t the only one to disintegrate into ash. Just how many people were gone? Running towards the doorman, you begged him to let you borrow his phone. Glancing onto the screen, you were taken aback. 2023? What the fuck? In a state of hysterics, you called a number Natasha had given to you months ago, or perhaps years ago, in case of emergencies.
The phone rang.
It continued.
You chewed your lip nervously. Where was she?
The ringing was tearing you apart, tears filling your eyes at the lack of her voice. Silence had never been so deafening.
“Y/N?” You had never felt so relieved or heard Natasha sound so vulnerable. Her voice was shaking with an unfamiliar tremble.
“Natasha?”

hey, so i started vidding just a couple years ago and while it seems daunting, the first vid i ever made ("copycat") was literally just youtube clips downloaded using a youtube downloader (i recommend yt5s.com, but beware the popups) and put together with minimal effects/transitions on hitfilm express, which is a free program. and ironically, it's my most popular video on youtube (excepting the one that got taken down due to copyright claim 😒)! in fact, aside from copycat, "don't know what to do about you," "tolerate it"--which i consider to be one of my best vids--and "therefore i am" were also all from youtube clips and edited on hitfilm--which does take a bit of a learning curve because it's a software that mimics adobe and other 'pro' programs, but it is free! (people in the notes are also recommending DaVinci Resolve, which i haven't tried, but hey there's that too! and also u could try wondershare filmora as prev said. i also use capcut for shorter edits, and though people hate on capcut for some reason, i think it's great, and definitely the best phone editor!)
there's also an unfortunate common narrative among some circles of fandom that you have to be really skilled or do really fancy transitions and coloring and text, etc etc to be a "good" or "popular" vidder, and the fact of the matter is, that's just false. if you line up clips to music in a way that will make the fandom go cuckoo bananas, it doesn't matter how much time you put into making a perfect fade-blur or pink-toned video, that's not what people are going to be talking about. it's the characters, the emotions. ofc it depends on the fandom, because i'm in one that prefers simplicity and another that likes fancy coloring and effects, too. but in my opinion, emotions matter more than all of those supplementary things--which can be fun to include (i love doing my own coloring and transitions!) but are not needed to make you a good vidder.
ALSO! here's a few resources for getting good base footage without having to resort to youtube clips, which sometimes don't have everything you need and aren't good quality:
scenepacks on youtube + instagram! some insta accounts have megafiles of entire shows and movies linked in the post. i downloaded several seasons of supernatural from @/devilzpack--and they have a ton of stuff, seriously it's worth checking it out.
logolessdesires. request to follow them on twitter for updates/password to the site (which rn is 2022desires). this is a MASSIVE archive for vidders & editors in fandom, i highly recommend!!!
on firefox*, use soap2day.to to search for a movie/show, then once you're on the page for the media, press CTRL+I to pull up the page's info. there should be a section labelled "media" at the bottom. left click on the mp4 item and save as, and it should download! this is the safest pirate site i've ever used, and doesn't require a torrent, unlike piratebay. (*chrome doesn't do the same thing when you do ctrl+i, it's weird, just use firefox for this lol.)
Please reblog this post to spread these resources to other vidders and potential vidders! and feel free to add on <3
i really wish amv editing was a more accessible hobby but it has such a high barrier to entry and that really sucks. you can't just pick it up one day, you have to get an editing program and footage and risk giving your computer like eight billion viruses in the process. if you're already involved in amv maker communities it's a lot easier to find footage, but if you're just getting started? and that's not to mention how hard it is to find an editing program if you don't want to spend money because, y'know, you're just getting started and don't even know if you like the hobby yet. and then there's elitism within the vidder community, some meps will only accept people who use a "pro program" which is honestly bullshit. i use fancy expensive editing programs because i am in film school. i am legitimately going into video editing as a career. and i'm sorry, but industry standard or quote unquote "professional" software should really not be the expectation for a hobby.
