INTRODUCING THE MOST MANIPULATIVE KING IN HISTORY , MAGNIFICO!!! 🎇🎇🎇🎇(I hate him but he deserves a redesign lol).
For those who see this post for the first time, I introduce myself, Hi :D! I'm Aled and this is a collaboration with @ animación , author of the rewrite of Wish that is on her profile (read it, the story it's soooo good) and I am in charge of drawing the redesigns of her story.
Now, coming back to the main thing, I will show how we got to this result :)
FACIAL FEATURES AND HAIR:
-Honestly, I never thought that getting used to drawing Magnifico would be so difficult lmao, how in most of my procedures to make the designs, I start with sketches and studying the structure of the character's face, this was a little difficult because I'm not that I'm used to drawing people over 20, but with a few practices I was able to figure out how to draw him :D
(I also did digital internships, but I didn't save most of them because I forgot lmao)
COLOR PALETTE:
-Don't think that I chose a palette of yellow and gold colors just because I thought it was pretty (well, that's also another reason), what happened is that when I was searching through conceptual arts, I found some designs by Magnifico where They used a blue and yellow color palette
I did a quick search and found this:
-Tell me this doesn't remind you of Magnifico, then yes, that's why I chose a yellow color palette, also adding a golden tone to give it a royal vibe.
-I also applied this in the design of Queen Amaya, in the publication of her design I explained why I added details of a dark blue color in her costume and Magnifico's costumes
ATTIRE:
-From the beginning I always wanted to modify Magnifico's cape by adding a rose as a brooch, and searching through the conceptual arts I found quite a few interesting models, so it can be said that I combined everything I liked and that's how I got the cape for Magnifico, Also adding other details that occurred to me.
-The author sent me several ideas for Magnifico (thank you by the way :D), one of them was associating Magnifico with the sun, I really liked the idea and that is why there are so many symbols of the sun in his suit, plus these It reminded me how in so many cultures the Sun is worshiped, just as the kingdom of roses worships Magnifico, there are also other reasons why the sun fits with Magnifico but I already mentioned that in the publication of Amaya's redesign.
-The truth is, I only drew the other details improvised, this time I just got carried away, but hey! The outfit didn't look bad at all :)
-Another important part of Magnifico's costume is the "M" on his badge, but in fact it is not an M 😅, it is the sign of Scorpio ♏, this idea was from Anny Mation
-So yeah, I had to add the Scorpio symbol yes or yes, at first I thought about adding it to the back of the cape but I wasn't convinced by the idea, but then I thought: "Wait, why don't I add the sign on the gold plate ? that would look elegant."
FINAL COMMENTS:
-I'm proud of how this turned out, I feel like it does justice to a villain that commemorates 100 years of Disney :)
-Also, I think that those who have already seen the other redesigns know which character is next, right 👀✨? For Aster, I don't know how long it will take me to draw him, since the boy is literally a walking animation studio lmao.
That would be all for now, until next time :D!

Ive recently just started doing art, and i apologize in advance if you've gotten this question before frequently, do you have any tips for beginner artists and how did you find your art style? I'm constantly amazed by how you do anatomy and expressions, their so distinct and expressive!
Thank you!
And I actually don't get asked a lot of questions about myself when it comes to art. Many come to this account so I can put my OCs on the phone for questions, so this is lowkey a new question. I might have been asked it before years ago but I am better at drawing now.
HOWEVER, I have to state that I am simply a hobbyist artist and not a freelancer or professional so my tips will be kinda off brand compared to their word. ANYWAYS...
THINGS THAT I FIND HELPFUL FOR ARTING (besides practicing because I mean...we all know the only way to get better is to practice so it'd be kinda redundant say it - we all know to do it)
Practice drawing in pen. Pen can't be erased. So instead of sketching and erasing and sketching and erasing, it is nonstop sketching. It helped me a lot with speeding up my sketching, even in digital, because I got used to making little goofy mistakes. It also helps to fight perfectionism
Use references. I know that's just as redundant as saying to practice but references are genuinely underrated. Whether they be colors or poses - references are your friend. I use them whenever I am having a hard time drawing something.
Redraw things. I occasionally redraw memes or scenes from animated movies with my OCs. It's stranger really helpful, especially if there is a certain expression in the original image because it lets you play around with how to draw it to catch the correct vibes. PLUS redrawing funny stuff helps take the stress off creating art because it reminds you not every drawing has to be amazing.
Don't neglect your body when you draw. STOP DRAWING WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY, THIRSTY, OR NEED THE BATHROOM! THE DRAWING CAN WAIT - YOU WILL HAVE A MUCH EASIER TIME CREATING ART WHEN YOU ARE NOT SUFFERING FROM THE HUMAN CONDITION.
Stretch your hands. Drawing puts strain on them and your fingers will ache and your hand may get stiff. Practically hand and finger stretches keeps your hands happy. I do them all the time just because I use my hands a lot for art AND my day job.
Numbers are the devil and the algorithm is a warlord. If you post your art online, it's easy to get into the mindset that you aren't good enough because you have low interactions on your work. THIS IS FALSE - NUMBERS DO NOT EQUAL QUALITY. It's better to draw for yourself and the enjoyment of art rather than drawing to attract a fanbase and attention
As for how I figured out my art style, what you all see is the result of me taking bits and pieces from things I like and blending it all together. An art style is really just figuring out what stuff you like from other people's styles and doing your own thing with it.
To break down some of my own style, the way I shade the underside of noses is something I got from Soul Eater since I loved how the anime marked noses with little dots.
The way I draw lips was a journey. I used to only line the top lip like how the manga for D Gray Man would. Then I saw how Steven Universe stylized fuller lips and sort of started playing with that. Over the course of me exploring - I found more online black artists and learned from how they shade and render lips.
Style is very much something that takes a long time to develop. I've been active online since 2011 and it took me until this year to finally figure out a style I really vibe with.

OCs.......
i FINALLY settled on a design for the main character of Fabrication!!!! only took me............. six years........... sorry SELF.......
also did the guardian of perspective, shea (pronounced 'shay' iirc, they/them)! ended up being an anthromorphic horse guy, but they're a shapeshifter - it's just their base form :D
(SELF on left, shea on right)
and you can see my frantic design here; SELF was quick to figure out but shea was, uh. significantly harder, majorly bc i don't know how to draw horse heads
(the lil cloud is how i draw my persona)
fun fact abt SELF, they aren't actually a sentient die - they're a human, but they don't like showing their real face a lot of the time. what do they look like? beats me, i'm not about to make another bloody reference :p
also i used paint 3d for the first time!!! fiddly af but WHO CARES I GOT DEW TO SPIN :DDD
will be doing this again at some point, i like experimenting like this! maybe i'll give her the jacket she deserves.. also i FINALLY FOUND my old pen + pad for digital drawing so ig i'm gonna try using it more - used it for the initial sketch here, and it's still hard with dyspraxia, but am getting the hang of it!
update: krita was being funny about my pen but i think i'm improving at mousepad art (i will never use a mouse sue me)!!! here's princess eleanor and thunder being silly <3
(for context, eleanor unofficially adopts children left and right, so when thunder and her met, she was nicer to xem than originally planned and took xem in. she was interested in meeting SELF and the Fragments, and when she realised they were children, she went off wanting to hurt/influence them. she's manipulative due to her own goals of totally NOT murdering/otherwise influencing political opposition, but only to an extent for kids. they're innocent and she is a protector)
(shhh dw abt the blood....... she's innocent, look at that innocent face............ she's not an assassin princess, no............. shhh /jk /s)
oh and i remember @mylackofgrammaristerrifying saying that azzie should get a gf...... GUESS WHAT SHE GETS TWO, (though one is still being designed!) POLYAMORY TIME :DDD
they love each other dearly dw, azzie is upset for *reasons* in this drawing but nettle is good to her. they'll heal a bit more <3
i don't think i made a proper post on them (maybe?), tho they've been sitting in my masterpost for a while! gonna revamp both the refs and the masterpost at some point to be more simple tho. anyway here's nettle (she/they)!
the other partner is elle (they/them i think? either that or she/her, still choosing. genderqueer). all three are really in love, lil' goobers <3
oh, and one last drawing:
</3
moot tags! beware the horrors: @mrrottenreblogs @nylonnye2 and mlogit you have already been tagged! hope you guys are doing good :D

Hello everyone! I'm back with another Couple Commission Sheet :D
For 70 euro you can claim one of these pre-drawn poses, and I’ll turn em into your characters of choice!
As usual, clone/clone, jedi/clone, etc etc are all welcome, either OC or canon.
AND this time I'm also open to do any other OCs, like D&D characters or other fandoms!
Just send me a DM with the pose you’d like to claim and I’ll send you a form to collect your characters details! Once the form is filled in, I'll reserve the pose for you.
Please make sure to read the Terms and Conditions under the cut:
Payment will be upfront, through PayPal, (or, if you're Dutch, through a pay request).
You'll have 24 hours to pay the invoice after I send it. If after that time it has not been paid (and I have not heard anything from you), I'll release the pose for someone else to claim.
For a clone OC, make sure to provide a detailed description of their unique traits and their armor design. Refs are appreciated, especially for the armor, but optional.
For a Jedi , other Star Wars OC, D&D OCs or any other, make sure to provide a detailed description and preferably references like previous commissions. If you don't have previous commissions, please provide clear refs of their species, hairstyle, clothing, facial features etc. IF YOU DO NOT INCLUDE (ENOUGH) REFERENCES I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO YOUR COMMISSION. So please don't forget this part.
If you have no idea yet what your OC looks like, please do not apply for these commissions, but sign up for my regular commissions instead. I will happily work with you to design your character that way, the link can be found in my pinned post.
I'm open to all kinds of characters for these commissions, though I prefer to stick to humanoids. Tieflings, firbolgs, twi'leks etc. are all fine, as long as they're similar to humans. Furries , transformers etc. are a no.
For this type of commission you will have two opportunities to give me feedback. The first one will be after I send you a rough sketch of the characters features and amor/clothing style. The second one will be after I do the flat colors. Please make use of these opportunities to tell me if you want anything changed.
I will work on these commissions in order of application. So even after I confirm receiving your payment, keep in mind it could be a little longer before its your turn.
You will receive a digital high resolution file of your commission.
You are free to post the final result wherever you please with credit.
You are free to print the final artwork for your own use, but you are not allowed to make money off of it.
I do not condone NFT's or anything related to AI and will not allow my artwork to be used for that.
#commissions#couple commissions#Star Wars#the clone wars#dungeons and dragons#Jedi#ro’s art#sharing is appreciated!

ta da!!! :D super codependent magic au early concepts for part 1!!!
i wrote let me / for you this year and used a set of three designs at different pts of the story for my illustration class this semester. to go along with each part's concept art is one fully painted illustration.
here's the in depth analysis to go along w p1 and then here is the fic itself on ao3 :)
design notes below the cut! these aren't the final versions but they're p close tbh. p1 illo + final concepts will be out along with p2's whenever i get around to finishing that section of the fic!
for ace: most of ace's initial concepts and early changes were done on pen and paper!! his i already had planned and didn't undergo a lot of change so the only thing of note from these first digital drafts to the final is color correction.
i also drew ace's hair wildly different with every new sketch bc he's not supposed ot have a single hair model to go off of for p1 - aside from it being the longest at this stage (it gets shorter thru p2 and p3 to contrast sabo's getting longer!!) it's meant to be got-out-of-bed messy and unpredictable.
for sabo: gee wow. with the second set (v2) i was focused on color and so some design elements were left out for simplicity/time's sake (cinched waist, pants seam+pocket). i did a split accent color also for time' sake but when i found the color combo i liked i went make to solid (v3).
lots of changes made in v3 and final bc i felt like it wasn't "fancy" enough for a sabo design! not illustrated great here but i added a collar attached to the lining of the hood @ the stitching of it to the body of the jacket. instead of being a split hood that closes w drawstrings, it now buttons together in front! the magic cloak also gets upgraded to shiny accents and in the final vers ends up with ornate swirly motifs meant to mimic lace :) v3 is also where i finally created a galaxy swatch to use from now on (it's p colorful but i used an edge of mostly cool colors for v3 and then saturated it w a sorta dark blue+periwinkle overlay to further this)
i altered the height of the boots between v2 and v3 bc i decided to used the knee height for the p2 sabo design! no notes on the last 2 of sabo's bc i submitted like a full written page of notes w each design update lmaooo n im not sharing those when i can jus type the impt stuff here. all of the clothing folds for sabo and ace are rough traces of pictures jus for practice so i could quickly get a feel of what i needed to do to portray what i liked best :)

PUBLICATIONS
Studying Sonder: A collection of short stories
This book contains several fictional short stories that cover queer themes, found family, mental health issues, and healing.
Out Pour The Violets
This poetry book includes poems from over the span of six years which cover my trajectory through depression, a messy breakup, healing, and eventually opening back up to love. Each poem has a corresponding illustration, drawn by me as well.
KNOW ME!!
This poetry book is filled with poetry that encapsulates my experiences with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, and POTS; my deteriorating relationship with my parents due to their homophobia and bigotry; and my journey to find love (and finally getting that!!). Throughout it all are themes of a deep desire to be known completely and chosen, not despite, but because of everything that I am.
it was may when the sun burned out
This chapbook covers the course of a month following a devastating breakup with my girlfriend of almost a year. The poems in this book cover a range of emotions from that time, from numbness, to anger, to anguish and beyond.
Something Lost, Something Found
Nathan Grey has just lost his grandfather, the only family he has left, and subsequently, his will to live. A desperate attempt at suicide leaves Nathan in even deeper trouble: a stay in a psychiatric ward. Once there, Nathan faces not only a homophobic patient and a reckoning with his past, but something even scarier—coming to terms with his sexuality and gender identity. With the help of friends old and new, Nathan starts a journey of self-discovery, and gains just enough hope to begin healing at last.
Dear Daniela,
This book is a nuanced journey through sapphic love and loss. It contains every poem I have written to and about my ex-girlfriend, Dany. These poems span from the very start of our relationship to well past the end, each line radiating with raw honesty—a trademark of my writing. This book shows the reality of being in a long-distance relationship; finding and losing a true love; and all the emotions that come along with thinking you know someone deeply, only to discover you didn’t at all.

It's a me!! (Little story of the drawing below. Its positive :'D)
So, not so long ago, my boyfriend found a NEW Wacom tablet in the flea market, at 15 usd app. I was really excited because I've drawn in my computer digitally like. One time? With a Genius tablet (that tablet adapted only to windows 8 and below NDVSB somewhow i made it work but it was extremely laggy) and aaah, that means I just need to get used to draw like this!!
Finally I have it... no more fingers without fingerprints nsbdnsdf but I still preffer to draw like I always do, scan the traditional sketch and colour it. OK that's it I'm just really happy that I have a working tablet and one that I wanted to too.
#tt.text#my art#furry#im really excited i just need this week to be over bcse exams#but yeah...<3<3<3<3#sergal#furry art#oc:ticktock

i guess “wobbly” isn’t totally the right way to describe what’s going on with my art, a better descriptor might be a sort of “double vision” created through an inevitability turned into an intentionality
(sorry im very sick rn and my sick brain accidentally wrote some barely readable essay about my own artistic techniques orz under da cut)
i think a large part of the reason i gravitate towards drawing analogue vs digital nowadays (ignoring the fact that i have spatial issues and i can keep track of proportions much easier on paper than on a screen) is that like, at least in my experience (growing up on deviantart LOL) traditional art, while being less popular online (at least, growing up on deviantart it was), also allowed way more room for visual mistakes and imperfections than digital art did. i think sometimes, at least for me, having an undo button ended up putting a weird perfectionism on me instead of being a useful tool orz
YOU MAY have noticed my double/triple lines in my linework, especially in long, uninterrupted lines, that’s what i mean by inevitability turned intentionality: its a sort of “line correction” like one would do when doing a rough sketch except for some ungodly reason i do it during my very permanent inking stage LOL jk jk its actually several very good reasons: you know how many artists find their rough sketches look better than their final linework? part of that is because your eyes bring in all the competing sketchy lines together as one cohesive sort of “vibe” of a line, making it look exactly how your brain thinks it should look to be “correct”
another reason is that, going back to the spatial issues, the dysgraphia is inevitable and i will always end up strange, jerky lines no matter the sketch stage or the ink stage, no matter how careful i am no matter how careless, its something that’s stuck with me for 24 years and i can usually write my b’s and d’s without a reference nowadays (the z’s are still questionable) but it’s always present - SO i’ve found, especially in the past couple years, embracing it is vital
hold on, here’s some examples of my double lines:
THIS drawing around the legs is a REALLY clear example lol
you can see what happened, the red lines are what i attempted to draw first, my dysgraphia then caught up to me half way through bringing in those big wobbles, and then i added the blue lines as a sort of corrective buffer
this one had a LOT, the orange lines were likely what were drawn first. you can kind of tell that i tend to ink from the face first because as i get to the body i get more tired and the more corrective lines need to be drawn LOL
of course there’s exceptions: i think with this girl I hadn’t done any warmup sketching (just drawing vague circles and swirls and lines or maybe a blobby creature doodle LOL) and my hands were hashtag unsteady hjdskfjds
of course when i said inevitiability turned intentionality, i do mean that part of it is done intentionally: on purpose. that’s part of embracing it: it really does just look good and feel good to draw like this. like here i can’t remember or tell which lines were drawn first, i just know it felt right where i placed all my doublelines
i think that’s why i had to stop doing digital art for a while, it tends to not be super conducive to this style of drawing, or at least i haven’t quite gotten the hang of it (despite doing digital art since i was 10 LOL). i remember like 90% of the stuff i would draw digitally, instead of letting my doublelines through i would just ctrl+z and redraw the line 3000000 times until it was “perfect” orz a fools errand that created way more work for myself and was nawt great for my drawing health (both physically and mentally very exhausting). i hope someday i can work out some techniques im happy with that make digital art feel as easy as analogue art has become for me
my chosen medium for colouring in traditonal art also helps i think, i originally gravitated towards watercolour because it was faster and easier on the hands than pencil crayons (especially as a person with this many ocs with black and brown hair LOL my pencil crayons were STUBS while the other colours were nearly untouched) but it also allows for you to get SLOPPY with it LOL painting outside the lines feels SO good and right and not painful WOULD RECOMMEND. plus, i think you can see it in my drawing of Su up there with her brown hair, because to build up deeper colours in watercolour i find it easiest to do it in layers + i cant mimic the brushstrokes very easily, i end up with these sort of simple gradations around all my drawings which i think has a similar i-liked-the-rough-sketch-best effect that the doublelines have, the weird aura tricks the brain into filling in the blanks
of course my lineart style is not super conducive for digital art colouring, paintbucket filling this shit is a NIGHTMARE jkgdfldsjhfkds that’s another thing i gotta do a lot of experimentation with..............
anyway WHAT im trying to say is sometimes the best thing you can do for your art is let your arms draw the way they want to. (also im tricking your eyes into seeing the best version of my art with my fuzzy colouring and double-lined inking. bmpmp3′s trick hee hee)

Hii, I'm absolutely enamoured of your art! The style is so neat and expressive, the colours a delight and overall aaah, you're amazing, looking forward to see your future works :D
I have this question (I hope it doesn't bother you, feel free to ignore in case), have you attended any art school/academy or are you self taught? Because I'd love to learn how to draw, and I know that practice is the key, but I feel so lost thinking about what I should practice exactly. I think that a course would help, but at the same time I think it wouldn't since art is mostly yours to develop and vibe with yanno. Hope you're having a nice (insert moment of the day here)!
hi! first, thank you sm! I know it doesn’t seem like much but compliments regarding the funky way I draw make my day :). And for the second thing- nope! I attended public school that had a basic art class that you drew maybe a still life in and moved on in 8 weeks to do other extracurriculars like gym. Later on I did get the chance to learn some digital/photoshop stuff and paints for more serious courses but yea! mostly self taught :)
Next bit is LONG so we’re breaking it up:
aaaa ok so now when I heard of the “I’d love to learn how to draw, but I feel lost” I resonated with that BIG time. “Starting art” or in your case stating how you wanted to learn how to draw is a personal process that i wholly believe will be different for everyone. For me I started by drawing on rocks I found in the backyard as a kid and grew from there. To jump into drawing (for my personal method!) draw what your interested in or what you enjoy, and then mix that with some studies. Maybe an OC one day, and the next you’ll practice hands/ something from life you don’t really wanna draw. But! by doing this you build skills and grow- then when you redraw that OC maybe their anatomy is better or you drew a nice background with it. Once you learn the basics of some elements of art then you can stylize them!
“Well what do I study?” Anatomy, color theory, composition tricks, fundamentals of art, etc. are all pretty broad things to focus on! I would try to divy it up, maybe you practice shoes, or plant studies one day instead of the whole human figure and a forest painting. Keep it simple and fun, you’re learning and sketches aren’t meant to be perfect! There’s no “order” on what you should study first. As for taking courses vs going with flow with art/more self taught, I would say that if you have the opportunity to learn from masters- take it take it take it. I would never consider learning or taking inspiration from artists cheating. Of course I wouldn’t recommend copying an artists work (and CERTAINLY not positing it online) but maybe as a study draw a work that is based from them/their style and learn from it. I look at the way I draw noses for certain characters and they remind me of they way “x” person drew them, yeah? bits and pieces of inspiration and other artists work helped me create my own art that is personal to me :).
WHOOO okay finally last thing- going back to the no “order” bit. Establish goals! lets say you wanna draw characters first, then I would recommend looking up videos of drawing body types or tutorials online. Maybe clothes next, or you wanna learn to draw trees and do a whole week on that. Some people practice everyday, others do it like once a week- and that’s ok! Art shouldn’t be super stressful methinks. If you think taking an art course is good for your artistic journey, then do it. If you think practicing everyday but more self-taught (still use references, im the biggest hypocrite when it comes to this but they’re so so important), then do it! Yeah I might be throwing in what I personally do as an artist (but I’m still VERY much learning too!) however it is your choice to decide what path is best for you as a creator. Hopefully some of this helped! it seemed like a very genuine ask that I appreciated and wanted to give my input to the best of my ability :)
#OWOOOUUUUUUGH#long post#nyx! thank you for the ask! hopefully this is helpful in some way#but I’ll put the disclaimer again: I’m not an expert cause I am very much still learning too-these are just the things that have helped me#still it was super sweet- I saw your other message and I must’ve missed it sorry about that one dude!#also another quick thing I know studies sound like this big scary or exhausting word#but in art they don’t have to be- I learned to draw formal wear and clothing wrinkles from drawing my favorite character in a show#sucker wore a suit and I learned from that#appa asks

heyhey !! can i request some hcs of jun, tetsuya, n chris having a very soft but artistic s/o who draws them a lot? and maybe one day they find her sketchbook open n it’s just sketches of them? no pressure if you’re not inspired by this or anything tho n ty !! <33
Sketchy Secrets
⤷Includes: Chris, Jun, Tetsuya
A/n: I'd be more than happy to write this! The 3rd years make me unfathomably soft so I'm going to have a bunch of fun with this! Thank you for requesting and I hope you like it ♥️
----------------------------------------------------------
Chris
Chris wouldn't consider himself a very nosy person
He's always respectful of your space and never pries when he can tell you want to keep something private
But nothing has ever tempted him to break that boundary more than the worn notebook you keep on you
It's in your hands constantly and you're so secretive about the item your behavior was bound to garner some curiosity on his end eventually
Nevertheless, Chris fought his inquiring mind out of respect for you and let the contents of the notebook remain a mystery
Chris could definitely appreciate art but he wasn't much of an artist himself, so it was quite the surprise when he opened the notebook he used the keep baseball notes in and be met with a bunch of sketches
Immediately he understood that this must be the oh-so mysterious notebook you've had on you for months. By some miraculous force the two of you seemed to have accidentally swapped notebooks
The damage was done and he already knew what resided in the book so how much worse could it be to give into the hungry curiosity he's been harboring the past few months?
Chris handled the pages with care as he flipped through the book. Most of the pages were filled with what he assumed to be anatomy studies and the occasional silly doodle here and there
When Chris reached the middle of the notebook he noticed a trend in your art begin: All of your sketches were of him
His cheeks were most definitely tinted a soft pink the further he flipped. He was dumbfounded that you found him to be a source of inspiration, he wasn't always a ball of sunshine and rainbows as you've seen him on his worst days
But he found it interesting to look at the conjured up version of how you saw him. It was like he was looking at himself through your eyes
It was then that you barged open his dorm door, hair messy from running and his baseball notebook clung to your chest. He saw the fear flare in your eyes when you spotted the open book in front of him
"D-did you..."
"I looked through it. I'm sorry, you wanted to keep this private and I spoiled that for you."
"So did you see the...uh sketches?"
"I did and I think they're remarkably beautiful, I had no idea you were so talented, love"
A wave of relief crashed into you at his words. You honestly thought he'd think it was creepy you had pages and pages filled with sketches of him
Chris chuckled at your reaction before he stood up and pulled you into a warm embrace where he placed a kiss to the top of your head
Jun
Jun is...a very brash person
He's loud and rambunctious by nature but the man instantly developes a softer side when around you
Seeing the normally boisterous outfielder morph into a far gentler version of himself was quite the sight, and the occurrence had definitely become a topic his friends would make jabs at
Jun never let their teasing remarks bother him much, he enjoyed spending quiet time with you and was more than happy to sit through his friends bad jokes if it meant he could continue hanging around you
Recently though Jun had noticed an odd habit of yours
You stare at him alot. Not in a 'checking your boyfriend out' kind of way but as in blatant staring even if you knew he caught you looking
It was a bit odd in his opinion seeing as you never addressed or hinted at why you actually do stare at him so much
Jun didn't question it, maybe he was just catching while you were spacing out and didn't realize what you were doing
What he didn't know was that he would unintentional find out what was driving this habit of yours only a few weeks after becoming aware of it
He spotted you alone at a table in the schools library one afternoon while searching for some research material he needed for a project
You were sitting with your back to him, leaning heavily on on of your arms. From where he was standing it looked like you had either fell asleep or were zoning out like you often did around him
Jun decided to go "wake" you up, as leaving you there in that state would be defeating your purpose of coming to the library in the first place
Before he could tap your shoulder after approaching your table, his eyes flicked to the book sitting wide open infront of you
More specifically he was watching your hand roughly sketching the outline of a person's hair style
The longer he looked the more he realized that the entirety of the two pages in front of you were drawings of him
Anything from small, quick doodles of him catching a ball or swinging a bat to more detailed sketches of him laughing or reading a book
You must have finally sensed someone looking over your shoulder as you jumped slightly in your seat and quickly turned to find Jun (whose face was beyond flushed might I add)
"This is why you stare at me all the time?!"
"Ah...maybe?"
Despite how embarrassed you both were he still pulled a seat up next to you, gruffly mumbling out how you shouldn't let his presence keep you from your art
He then quietly complimented your artistic skills, sealed with a soft kiss to the back or your hand
Tetsuya
If there is one thing that Yuki Tetsuya loves about your relationship it's the fact that you always pack little bentos for the two of you to share after games
Obviously he loves YOU for many other reasons! But if he were asked what quirk or abnormality he loves the most in your relationship it'd be the bentos
Which he was currently rummaging through your bag for
You usually have a specific spot in your bag for the small containers, a place that would keep the food cool so it wouldn't get spoiled in the Tokyo heat, but Tetsu couldn't seem to find them
Eventually he spotted the familiar teal and green box after shuffling the contents of your bag around a bit
With an accomplished glimmer in his eyes he pulled the bento out from your bag
As he was retrieving the container, said bento caught the corner of a small notebook causing it to tumble out and flop open on the concrete
Tetsuya quickly scooped the book up from the ground fearing that he had gotten it scuffed or dirty, but those worries left as his attention was captured to the contents of the notebook
At first he thought the image was a digital picture you had printed out but the longer he looked the more he picked up on the smudgy finger prints littering the page
And then it clicked for him: You drew this!
Right next to the portrait of him was a smaller doodle of a scene he recognized as your phones lockscreen (a second year version of the two of you happily smiling at eachother, his arm wrapped respectfully around your waist as you struggled to look up at him due to the brim of his Seidou hat blocking your view)
The sketched version looked exactly the same as the real photo! It was beautiful and somehow you had managed to enhance the tender emotions portrayed in the picture
"Tetsuya, did you find the ben- oh.."
"Do you think you could draw a larger version of this? I want to put it on my desk."
You just laughed at his bluntness before giving him a nod in response
A small smile graced his features as he looked from you back to your messy sketch. It wasn't a look you saw very often from him, but that smile made your knees weak as you fell in love with him all over again

Oh hey, I finally finished making a digital reference of my @funknote OC! I haven’t had the chance to draw her fully colored so I toyed a bit with that... and also just traced the line art from a traditional sketch I already had. Just working smarter and not harder for a change.
Once disgraced in the noble court of the Valley of Thorns, Seraphina has now reclaimed her place as heir of her estate. But over time one problem remained, life as “Marchioness Levi” wasn’t all it cracked up and the fae wanted to find her true calling.
Eventually, she found it when she started to focus on humanitarian efforts. Her efforts have led her to travel around the world and it widened her perspective. Now she attends NRC to get in touch with the younger crowd and have the youth she never got the chance to properly experience.

Art Advice #2 - How to beat art block!
Hi again everyone!
This is the second instalment to my Art Advice tag offering hints and tips for artists of any skill level!
This time I’ll be going into ways I’ve found that help me to combat art block or creative ruts. Of course, these may not work for you, and a big part of art is learning about what things do and do not work for you, but I hope it at least offers some advice to anyone who struggles with art blocks!
How to beat art block.
Getting into an art block can be one of the most frustrating things as an artist. Especially if you’ve tried to dedicate a window of time to drawing something, only for your brain to ‘nope’ out and give you no motivation. I’ve found it can often make you feel worthless as an artist, particularly when you see fellow artists continuing to produce countless amazing artworks, and this kind of self depreciation only adds to your inability to produce anything.
And I’m not about to suggest some magical cure of art block, since I don’t believe there is one, but I hope that my advice can at least help lead you towards getting out of these vicious circles of art block & self deprecation!
Tip #1 - Explore other mediums
I feel like as artists we get incredibly ‘comfortable’ in the mediums we’re familiar with. For me, that’s digital and pencil drawing. I’ve been doing pencil drawing for as long as I can remember, and digital for a little over 7 years, so I’ve become very comfortable in using them.
However, I think that a good way to not only help combat art block, but also to expand your art horizons, is to step out of that comfort zone into a new field of art.
Of course, I’m not saying that I expect every artist to go from pencil drawing for 10 years to suddenly picking up a paint brush and doing some oil painting. But instead that every so often maybe just try and dabble in mediums you’ve not used as much, or haven’t used before at all. A lot of shops sell pretty inexpensive paints, pens or pastels nowadays, not to mention a quick Google search will give you tips on how to use the particular medium if you’re not sure how to start.
A thing I want to mention here, too, is that I think it’s important to not to expect yourself to be automatically ‘great’ at a particular medium. For example, last year I did my first embroidery piece. I had wanted to do embroidery for a long time, and did actually enjoy it a lot (even if it was incredibly time consuming lol). But I found myself dissatisfied with the finale result.
And in a way this is because I expected myself to be perfect at embroidery after just one attempt, which is ridiculous of course, since any kind of art takes years and years to ‘master’. And when I look back, I can’t help but think ‘why does it have to be good in the first place’? Why did I put this pressure on myself to be a sudden Master of Embroidery, when surely the main goal of any kind of art is to some extent the enjoyment of the process?
This is still a mindset I think a lot of artists will relate to, and is something I’m trying to combat myself.
Recently I painted some fake plastic eggs inspired by the Polish folk art tradition ‘Pisanki’. They took a long time, and my neck hurt a lot from being hunched over and painting little dots, but honestly I really loved the whole process of them! Painting on 3D objects isn’t something I do a lot, and I also rarely do purely pattern-based work like this, so it was a real deviation from my comfort zone.
In a way, exploring other mediums is like a creative respite. Giving yourself a break from what you’re familiar with not only helps you to be inspired by a wide range or arts, but when you return to the mediums you enjoy the most, I’ve actually found you appreciate them even more!
(Really, nothing makes me more appreciative for digital art than painting a wrong dot on the surface of an egg and not being able to rub it out...)
Tip #2 - Try different styles
Another tip, similar in many ways to the first one, is to try different styles of art every once and a while.
Like with materials, I think we as artists can get overly caught up in ‘our style’ of doing things. Whether this is a particular stylised or cartoonish way of drawing, or doing realistic art, or even sticking to a particular colour scheme. And I think especially in the world we live in, where artists have to make themselves as ‘consumer friendly’ as possible, which often means having a ‘recognisable brand’, it can feel like we have to do our art in a particular way, otherwise people will lose interest in it.
I think this is harmful for a lot of reasons. Partly, I feel it stifles artists creativity to force themselves to do one style and one style only. I also feel it assumes that non-artists are so single-track minded that if an artist were to post works of art that involve different styles, then they would immediately lose interest.
So my advice to any artist who has a particular style is to once in a while try out some different styles. It doesn’t have to be big pieces, and it also doesn’t have to be the polar opposite of what your style actually is. But instead if can be as simple as doing a ‘style challenge’ (something I’ve done in the past), or even just trying a different way of drawing or painting!
In a way, changing your medium and changing your style occasionally go hand in hand. I particularly find that how I draw people will change with the kinds of mediums I use, or even when I start using a new brush with digital art.
For example, I recently did this super quick sketch of Kiki Layne, because I really loved the reference image, and it came out a lot more stylised than my art usually is. And this is almost entirely down to the brush I used (which was an ‘ink’ style brush, in comparison to the ‘pencil’ or ‘pen’ brushes I usually use for sketching).
This isn’t a drastic change in style for me, but I do think even trying to do rougher or messier styles of art like this can allow you to see your art in a new light!
(A side note here, but I already pretty much change up my style with every piece because I have no interest in being ‘marketable’ lol... But I’m definitely not suggesting everyone should be like me, just every so often changing up your style I believe can be really beneficial!)
Tip #3 - Changing subject matters
This one is essentially the same as the other two, and I’m sorry if this comes across as repetitive, but I think another great way to help beat art block is by changing up the kinds of things you draw!
Being predominantly a portrait artist, I rarely go out of my way to draw things like trees or birds or cups or whatever. But I know that often when I feel myself entering a kind of creative rut or art block, it’s because I’ve been drawing too many people & my brain is sort of all people-d out lol...
(this is a tree I drew in oil paints midway through last year because I was feeling particular people-d out at that point)
So I think occasionally drawing other things, and going out of your art comfort zone, can help to improve your creativity. And hey, who knows, maybe you’ll end up incorporating something you drew randomly into a new artwork!
TL;DR (/conclusion)
So, remember that exploring other mediums, changing up your regular style and choosing other subject matters can all help in beating art block! Of course, you don’t have to do them all at the same time, but instead just dipping in and out of them as you produce your regular work can be highly beneficial!
I mainly wanted to make this post not to say that by doing all three of these things, you’ll magically be free of art block forever, because that’s just not true. (I’m someone who does a lot of these things pretty regularly, but still gets into art blocks every now and then). I instead wanted to inspire you to deviate from what you are usually drawn to as an artist.
The world is your creative oyster, so don’t be afraid to explore it!
~
I hope you enjoyed this post about ways to beat art block! I may make a part two if people are interested since there are a lot of other things that I think can help in improving creativity!

How to edit traditional art for social media
Being a mainly traditional artist myself it always irks me a little when I see sketches or even full illustrations being posted without any proper editing, making for a terrible presentation of an otherwise great piece.
So here are my tips for making your art not look shit in just a few easy steps.
You don´t need a fancy scanner for this, but if you have a digital camera at home I´d recommed you to use that instead of your smartphone. (However smartphone photos are also okay! Use whatever you have on hand)
Take a photo of your piece during the day in ambient lighting and try to make the paper lie as flat as possible. Avoid direct sunlight and artificial light as both will lower the quality of the picture. The inital photo will look something like this:
Not exactly breath-taking, huh? but don´t worry, we´ll get this prettied up.
Open the photo on your computer and turn + crop it
For the following editing I use Adobe Photoshop CS2, which is legally available as a free download, so there really is no reason not to get it. It comes with everything you´ll need for the edit.
(Unfortunately I have it set to German but I did my best to make my steps understandable)
Now, let´s get on with the edit! Select “Image” (Bild) in the top bar, go to “Adjustments” and first of all set the “Saturation” to zero (if you have a black and white drawing)
After that, pick “Brightness and Contrast” (also found in “Image” --> “Adjustments”) to brighten up your piece some more
Aleardy much better, hm? But as you can see, the bottom-left corner of the image is quite a lot brighter than the upper-right one, which prevents you from getting an even result.
Thankfully, this problem is easy to fix.
This way you can even out the brightness of the overall piece and finally use the “Brightness” and “Contrast” sliders one last time to get a clean result
This is already pretty good, but if you want to go the extra mile, you can use the eraser tool as well as filters (such as the liquify tool and sharpness) to remove little sketchy lines or fix small mistakes (classic example: adjust the position of the eyes to make them look more symmetrical)
And that´s it! With just about 5 - 10 minutes of editing you can get your drawing to look clean and presentable! (Coloured illustrations are usually easier to edit, just play around with “Brightness”, “Contrast”, “Color Balance” and “Saturation” until you manage to emulate the original look of the piece.)
I hope that this tutorial will help you level up your own editing from now on. Play around with new settings and see what works; you might discover even more useful options in the future!

Hi! Just saw the last ask and now I love Kurochi as well. But w h o i s J a d e n H o l l a n d ?
OH HO HO FINALLY SOMEONE ASKS ME ABOUT MY OC I’M SO HAPPY
Okay so Jaden Holland is, well, my OC--he’s from the fangan me and L are making called “Class 49″, though there has been some slight talk about potentially changing the story to be an original one and called “Case 49″ As in, like, a Case Study.
Anyway, in his Danganronpa form, Jaden is the Ultimate Digital Artist
Anyway here’s a link to the Holland Family! Jaden is the one with glasses. Glenn is his older brother, and Jayleen is the girl on the left who is the eldest sister. His mother, Agatha, is on the right. (Also don’t mind Glenn’s hair, I’ve kind of changed the texture recently (Glenn is the tall guy in the middle of the short girl and the other DICE Member with the piercings) and L was happy with it so yeah)
On that note, Glenn Holland is a member of DICE! Which is kind of important to Jaden’s story, because Glenn ran off with the Ouma Twins when he was 11 or 12 (he’s a year younger than the twins so they were 12/13 ish) and that left Jaden in a really bad place. See, his mother is an overworked police officer, and Jayleen not only goes to high school but works too. So that meant Glenn was the sibling Jaden was most attached to, and not only was he gone, but Jaden was left alone to fend for himself. This was the absolute worst timing, because he started getting harassed by bigoted white kids and it turned Jaden from being a shy yet kind of adorable puppy to a quiet, emotionally numb person. It didn’t help that Jaden is partially mute due to being bit on the neck by a stray dog. He survived, but the surgery that saved him also scarred his vocal chords, so he mostly uses sign language to speak. Unfortunately, he tried to befriend some deaf kids who he could talk to, but they were really bitter at him since he wasn’t actually deaf... man Jaden got really outcasted and bullied a lot, plus abandonment issues, poor guy--
At least he has his dancing! Jaden is a really good dancer, and with how classy he typically dresses, you wouldn’t guess he’s really good at break dancing and electro swing and shuffle. He’s a good dancer, and dancing is really fun for him and he can relieve himself of a lot of stress just by doing it. Yet he’s kind of... shy? About his dancing? I haven’t really figured that part out yet though...
Anyway
Jaden has a really hard time feeling emotions due to having a severe case of apathetic depression due to this harassment, and even if he gained friends in the form of a small group of kids joining together to make a street dancing club, he still had a lot of issues in his early teen years with emotions and feelings.
As you might have guessed, Jaden is a digital artist--he mostly focuses on digital painting, but he can animate, 3D model, and basically any artsy craftsy thing you can do on a computer, he does extremely well. He was scouted to be the Ultimate Digital Artist because he made a short movie with his digital painting, and it looked like it was live action until you realize it was an animation. Due to his emotional shit, however, he barely felt anything but regret upon getting his letter, as it meant that he had to give up his dancing and leave his friends behind.
In his own killing game, Jaden is an unwilling blackened that wwas forced to kill a specific student. He had the Despair Disease, with the Obedience Disease symptom. So a girl named Olivia (also known as Marie), in her intense grief and rage at the victim for knowingly getting someone she loved killed in the previous chapter, forces Jaden to kill them. Marie also did this because Jaden was the only person who showed any kind of understanding towards Marie’s feelings where as the rest of the class just, forgave the victim pretty quickly. Marie thought that since Jaden was the only good person in that entire shitfest, that he was the only person who deserved to live, and planned on taking the fall for him so he would be able to escape. She even ordered him not to tell the truth so he couldn’t confess.
Unfortunately, Jaden’s “““Crime”““ was found out, and he was voted for as the blackened. He suffers through an execution, Paint Ball Barrage.
In a VRAU setting, Jaden eventually becomes Kurochi’s main love interest and first boyfriend. He genuinely loves Kurochi, and his love for him is sometimes amplified when he can only feel how much he loves Rochi ad nothing else. Kurochi kind of makes Jaden feel alive sometimes, which is. Really something Jaden needs to go deal with with a therapist and he eventually does but you know.
Jaden is Aroflux! Meaning he fluxuates between different aromantic spectrum. He’s mostly Demi romantic, but sometimes is full blown aromantic. Kurochi is totally fine with this, it just means Jaden’s love for him shifts on occasion.
Jaden is also very bi but like, also a demi bi? But nothing can compare to the hilariously named “art boner” he gets when he has inspiration to draw something. Even if his BFs and GFs are trying to be spicy with him, if Jaden sees something he’s gotta draw, he’s gotta draw. Spice can Wait, he needs to Sketch it Now. Stop whining, you’re moving and he needs you to Sit Still as he draws you.
Jaden really likes to draw the people he loves tbh :’D
Anyway that’s a basic rundown of my boy, I love him dearly and I need to actually write him more in fanfictions and not just rps with L :’D L has definitely written more fics with him than I have, orz HE’S MY OWN GOD DAMN OC NDJNDJKSNDAKJ

Want to be featured here? Head to this page and fill in the form!
See what this is about here, or if you’re using the app here.
What’s your fannish ID? Nightingale / rrrNightingale / rrr_nightingale
What types of fanworks do you create? I am exploring fanart (mostly traditional sketches, liners and markers, but I might go digital too, it is my final goal, lol). So far I am rarely fully satisfied with the result, but it’s still interesting to draw and I hope that practice bears fruit. Also I have translated one fic into Russian and I would probably like to do it again, translating is an exciting process.
What are your favourite types of fanworks, when you’re not creating? I love fics, art and gifs, vids can be pretty fantastic too. Haven’t watched much on Daredevil, though.
What do you like in particular about this fandom? I really appreciate Matt and Foggy’s friendship (whether they are a ship or not)! Friendship is very important. Funny thing, I’m not very into ‘protecting the city/fighting Kingpin’ stuff, I like a more realistic (even if slightly AU-ish) take on characters with more relatable problems. I also like No Powers AUs. Unpopular opinion, I don’t hate Iron Fist series xD As for The Punisher, I am more into seeing Frank’s human side, preferably him not mindlessly killing criminals if the plot allows it.
Do you like participating in fan events? Online fandom events are great, they motivate to make content and offer some publicity, also it’s fun to be a part of a bigger thing! Usually there are cool works to find and it’s all very festive. I try to participate when I’ve got free time and feel confident I can deliver. Not a huge fan of campaigns, they demand too much time and attention, and for me fandom life has always been a nice thing done for fun. (Kudos to those who do it.) RL events like cons are very cool though, but I have only visited local ones. Slash parties are the best! :D
Do you interact a lot with other fans? I’m on a Discord server, but I wouldn’t mind interacting with other fans more. I don’t socialize much. I would really like to meet some other fans in RL and talk & party someday :D It’s a pity the distances are significant.
Do you have other fandoms you’d like to talk about?
I’ve been into quite a few fandoms, sometimes I move on or come back. Currently I’m taking a break from Detroit Become Human, had a thing for Good Omens, regularly come back to Marvel Steve/Tony, and am suddenly very into Dirk Gently… I like sci-fi and it shows. My fandom life has been a hectic one :) I cannot name all the fandoms I have ever been interested in, it’s a long list. I prefer gen and slash, adventures or casual stories, whump, angst, hurt/comfort, pining, I like badass yet vulnerable characters, but all fics must end well :D I need more positivity in my life!
Is there any particular piece you’d like to showcase for this post? https://rrr-nightingale.tumblr.com/post/614045567992135680/g-matt-murdock-frank-castle-post-apocalypse-au Here is a new sketch made for @daredevilbingo (an experiment with mixed results). Because why not make a new one? I’d rather finish my bingo sooner than later! %)
Is there anything else you want to tell us about yourself? I used to make icons and write & translate more, nowadays I can hardly write anything (a real bummer!). But also I have always wanted to make fanart, so now I am trying it!
Where can your fanworks be found? https://rrr-nightingale.tumblr.com/ (#daredevil fanart; soon will add some #iron fist fanart DDE: have added the link because now there IS IF fanart :D) https://twitter.com/rrrNightingale (a bit of #Daredevil) https://archiveofourown.org/users/rrrNightingale (no art here, though)
Thank you, @rrr-nightingale - who also created the TWO banners for FrattWeek 2 (May 25 to 31) !
And this banner by @context-is-for-kingpins :-)
