Wet Beast Tuesday: Blåhaj

The time has come to discuss the shark, the myth, legend. Blåhaj was only discovered by marine biologists recently, but it has swiftly become on of the most iconic sharks in the world, up there with the likes of great whites and hammerheads. But what is it about this shark that has taken the world by storm? Let us discuss.

Blåhaj (Mollispistris transcustos, pronounced "blaw-high) is a medium-sized shark tentatively placed in the family Carcharhinidae. They reach up to 1 meter in length. Reports have been made of Blåhaj half that size and it is not clear if these are juveniles or a smaller subspecies. Blåhaj have rounded features and large heads with blunt snouts. Their scales are soft and fuzzy and, uniquely among sharks, they are smooth when petted both ways. They have a unique pattern of countershading with white underbellies and light blue backs. The mouth sits on the underside of the head and is less proptrusible than in most sharks. The fins are thinker than in most sharks and end is rounded edges. Blåhaj has large, round eyes that reflect kindness and understanding. Through currently unknown means, Blåhaj is capable of spending much of its time on land, possibly with adaptations similar to those of the epaulette shark, though the two species are not closely related.

Blåhaj were first spotted in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Sweden. The common names means 'blue shark' in Swedish. It is worth noting that prior to Blåhaj's formal scientific classification, there were reports of very similar sharks with grey coloring locally named klappar haj. It is possible that these were early sightings of Blåhaj or of a closely-related species or color morph. While it was previously believed that Blåhaj was endemic to the Baltic Sea, they have recently been proven to be a highly migratory species with worldwide distribution. In particular. Blåhaj seem to migrate to the ocean off of Indonesia to reproduce. As with many sharks, their exact mating grounds are unknown and juveniles are rarely seen. It is believed that juveniles will migrate from Indonesia to the Baltic Sea, where they reach maturity. Many will then leave the Baltic Sea to travel across the world. Blåhaj is a social species, often seen traveling in schools of both full-size and half-sized individuals. Uniquely among sharks, Blåhaj are receptive to human contact and appear to form bonds with humans. Blåhaj that bond with humans will often follow their new friends back to land and live with them.

Through unknown means, Blåhaj seems to be able to detect transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming humans and will preferentially seek them out for bonds. While people outside those demographics can befriend a Blåhaj, the sharks will never bond with bigots. Once bonded with somebody, a Blåhaj will become very protective of them. Blåhaj are normally harmless to humans, but they will act to defend their bonded person from harassment. Blåhaj is the guardian of trans people. Blåhaj enjoys contact with humans, especially being petted and hugged. Hugging a Blåhaj is clinically proven to reduce stress. While it may seem like there's noting going on behind those eyes, Blåhaj understands your problems and is here for you. Many trans people see befriending a Blåhaj as a rite of passage. If possible, befriend someone else with a Blåhaj and let your sharks play together as enrichment. Do not be surprised of your Blåhaj picks up hobbies like reading and cooking, this is a good form of intellectual stimulation and should be encouraged. While they can survive out of water for a very long time, Blåhaj will eventually need water to breathe. A recommended source of water is through laundry, as Blåhaj is machine washable.

i mean fish have very weird/freaky (at least to our grounded-mammalian standards) mating/pregnancy procedures like,,,

clownfish (trans fish), anglerfish (literal fusion), seahorse (males kangaroo the baby), sharks (literal colosseum in the womb), octopi (they have to be virgins to live)...

and male ones are the ones with the most nesting/territorial instincts...so... comparatively, behaviorally speaking... he's basically masc nephyte at the very least. that and the 'haha seahorse dad'.

i think merman would work similar to other aquatic mammalians??? like orcas or whales, they're kinda matrialchal? often mermaids are depicted as women so... maybe they are matriarchal? afaik lots of fish have males as the bottom of the ladder.

and i think him having weird fish instincts would mesh well with the unknowingly-courting-him darling has w/ him and the yan aspect... especially with more sadistic darling... like a weird fish version of w/e a male mantis/spider has for their partners or smth... and to differentiate him further from nephy, it could be an actual instinctual thing instead of prejudice / weird misoginy? not like noemi or achilles. like, actual instict/need.

or he's an actually normal, army veteran but with fish fins and stockholm syndrome. idk, spitballing some ideas since i didn't see him have a lot of opportunity for his yandere-ness to shine.

no actually that makes a lot of sense I didn't even think about it. he probably like always assumed he would be the one courting a big strong mermaid who can crush him and then you just casually pick him up and he's flustered. like "oh no. this human is really strong and also nurturing... like the perfect husband..."

and i really like the idea of him instinctively being like praying mantis where he expects to knock you up and then get his head eaten. and instead youre sadistic but you always keep him alive. i can imagine him asking himself what he's doing wrong!! why isn't he a good enough mate to get killed c'mon man :(

that also gives a new light to the cannibal stuff because like... imagine he's torn between the horror and fear of humans and the instinctive arousal of being a source of sustenance for his mate.

i imagined his yandere as relatively harmless. he likes stalking you and sinking ships that get near you but I actually like this more. the idea that he ends up ripping apart anything that comes near you before he can even understand what he's doing.

i also like the idea of him having this instinct to lure you into the water, he wants to drown you but he also knows that would mean losing you and he really doesn't want that.

I had some thoughts during work and I'm writing this first thing after lol.

First off, the piercing thing (punk Jade my beloved). I headcannon him with so many piercings lol.

Also, a (as far as i'm aware) popular headcanon is trans fem Jade. My personal headcannons tend to shift based on the context, but i'm rather fond of both he/they and she/they Jade. I just really like the image of Jade in huge cozy sweaters and long skirts. I was just kind of curious on your thoughts about it, if you have any lol.

Gender is much more fluid under the sea due to the nature of merfolk and sea creatures. A good portion of merfolk can change their sex if they're not already hermaphrodites, which a surprising amount of them are. The octotrio stick with he/him pronouns because they noticed that it's what most humans who share features with them use. They're impartial to what pronouns they use, but there was a time when Jade and Floyd referred to each other as she/they and as 'sisters' in front of a bunch of students. They just wanted to laugh at the panic they caused the other students for thinking they misgendered some of the two scariest people in school.

They thought it was funny, though Azul did clear up with some of his own dorm's students that the twins, and he didn't care how they were referred to.

Some of their classmates are still scared and exclusively use they/them pronouns for the twins in case it's secretly a joke.

I like to think that Jade tends to stick with his current manner of dress because it's what's expected by humans. But dresses and skirts, especially the long flowy ones, are much more comfortable. More room, not tight, not restrictive. Moving from wearing, really, no clothes to tight, restrictive clothing, is fairly uncomfortable.

When you and him get close together, you two sometimes go out to the town and just walk around and window-shop. It's mostly for you to get more familiar with this world, but Jade likes you, so he comes along.

It's fall when a plush, flowy outfit at one of the boutique stores catches his eye. It's soft, a warm color, and of course very cozy. The skirt is also embroidered with mushrooms, which is a bonus.

You notice him staring, and ask, "Do you wanna try it?"

Jade's surprised at the suggestion, but nods and invites you to try something on with him. He finds himself surprisingly enjoying the comfort of the outfit. The skirt is long and flowy, it reminds him of fins, and the sweater is cozy, though a bit hot for him.

He only really has the clothes that NRC provided him and some clothes he and Floyd bought together after looking at men's fashion magazines and in the men's sections of stores. It's hindsight that neither of them bothered to look at the other sections because this what was expected, but Jade might find himself adding a few more pieces to his normal wardrobe.

Watercast by Fishwrites (205,901 words, rated M) this one is INCREDIBLE the worldbuilding here is Insane, basically there are mermaids, avians, galra, and humans and there are interesting political dynamics going on between each species. Lance and Hunk are merpeople, Keith and Shiro are avians (winged Keith my beloved <333) and I think Pidge is human. This one is technically unfinished, the last chapter was never posted because people kept stealing the fic and uploading it to wattpad (this used to be a big issue in the fandom) but I think the final chapter was written but not posted. I still think about it all the time and maybe if people are commenting on the fic again the author will finish it because good fucking lord this fic is incredible. I think it's still worth reading even unfinished because godddd it's just so fucking good

Moonset Deep by MilkTeaMiku (91,200 words, rated T) is another incredible and unfinished fic (for the same reason I think) that I feel like is still worth reading. Lance and Hunk are merpeople in this one, and Keith is a human who gets shipwrecked (I don't remember how everyone else falls on the mermaid/human divide)

Jagged Fins by AaronAlive (159,379 words, rated T) I haven't read this one myself but it's complete and both Lance and Keith are mermaids in this one and it seems really good !!

Moonsong by Seliphra (24,042 words, rated T) everybody is a mermaid in this one, and I think it's also kind of a soulmate au. it's also complete but I haven't read it, but it has over 2,000 kudos so. i think it's safe to assume it's good soup

Lungs by Dreamicide (14,704 words, rated T) where Lance is miraculously and mysteriously saved from drowning as a child (I'll give you one guess how it happened!!) it's also tagged as childhood friends to lovers and growing up together, this one looks adorable

This is one of the ancient texts I know I've read this one but I don't remember much anytmore other than the fact that it is Iconic and soooo good ao3 user Speaks never fucking misses

a fic I've posted about before (multiple times by now lol oops) ((and it Will happen again this fic simply has it all)) Poor Boys and Pilgrims is a quantum abyss story where Keith sees into alternate realities where he and Lance are falling in love so it's basically canonverse + 4 aus, one of which is a mermaid!Lance / pirate!Keith au

I also follow an artist who does amazing klance comics that often feature mermaid Keith, @ lilyeclair on instagram !! she doesn't seem to have a tumblr but her comics are gorgeous and so much fun, she did a titanic au called Ship of Dreams where Keith and Romelle were mermaids and is currently posting a comic where Lance and Keith met as children and Keith convinced Lance he was a mermaid, but thought he was lying to him until they meet again in college and Keith pretends not to recognize Lance because he's embarrassed that he lied, and then falls into the ocean when they're together and learns that he is, in fact, a mermaid. it's PEAK lmao it's so funny I adore it please go check it out. Keith is also trans in the current comic which I always love !!

You can't separate the art from the author. You can't. Those biases will always be found within the text and subtext of a work. But when we talk about separating the art from the author especially with things like JK Rowling I think it's really important to address the ways that just writing off an author or a work completely and never touching it actually harms people's acquisition of critical reading and thinking skills.

Let's say that instead of talking about Harry Potter we're talking about Huckleberry Fin, or Tom Sawyer, or The Lord Of The Flies. These are works that we have decided as a culture are important to teach to our children. And we teach them through the lens they were written through. When teaching teenagers about these classic works we don't say "Mark Twain had these problematic beliefs and so we're never going to finish this book" instead we say "Mark Twain had these problematic beliefs. Let's pick through the ways they affect the story and the text. Show me the bias he is presenting here. Let's look at the multiple potential meanings of this work while I guide you to the ones that are more in line with the morals I believe you should pull from it and allow you to find the morals you will take into your life with you." With Lord Of The Flies we don't say "this is a bad book with biases so we shouldn't read it" we teach kids "This person felt this way about how girls and boys interact and that's outdated information and also just his personal opinion but on a deeper layer Let's look at how that affects the story and what he is trying to say about human nature and society. Do we think he's wrong? Do we think he's right? Do we think humans are inherently violent like he does?" That is how we teach children and teenagers and even adults to sift through information and come to their own conclusions. This is how we teach people to think for themselves and identify bias in writing. Ultimately this is how you train your brain to form its own opinions.

So let's talk about Harry potter and JK Rowling. JK Rowling has beliefs that are truly detrimental to herself to society and to progression of freedom world wide but especially in the UK. That's horrible. There is no excuse for the way that she feels about things. And it is evident in her writing. I have only read the Harry Potter series by her but off the top of my head I can list several things I know are in her writing that I don't agree with. Here's my basic list (I will definitely have missed things):

• Centaurs are described with characteristics similar to native Americans. Theya re then presented as being violent, unpredictable, and a danger to women and children.

• Goblins are extreme caricature stereotypes of Jewish people who are then presented as being selfish, money driven, unpredictable, egocentric, secretive, and arrogant.

• The stairs to the girls dormitories do not allow boys in. Which not only trampled the ide of Trans or nonbinary students but also screams "boys can't be assaulted by girls"

• House elves. I don't feel like i really need to expand on this one. We all know...

• The way fleur is treated in the books is gross. The feminist "icons" of the series are incredibly mean to her simply because she is pretty and talented. It creates and underlying agression toward successful women for being pretty and successful.

• Lycanthropy should have been left alone no one needed that essay on how it's actually an allegory for Aids which then frames Greyback as an adult gay man preying on young children (Remus is 4 years old canonically when Greyback breaks into his bedroom and attacks him. Disgusting with a new lgbt connotation) also the treatment of lycanthropy in the books shows a clear misunderstanding of the actual impact of the Aids epidemic on the lgbt community.

Like I said, just to name a few. Now despite all of these things I truly love the story. You cannot remove these beliefs from it. But I would argue that rather than completely writing it off it's actually very important that we read the books through the lens of knowing these beliefs. That we point them out, pick them apart, show the ways they affect the writing. Point out the ways that those beliefs are wrong and harmful. Just as we would with any classic work. There are valuable lessons in Harry Potter. Ultimately it is a story about found family and love conquering all. It is a story of bravery and hope for a better more accepting world where you are not defined based on your blood status, physical characteristics you can't control, and traumas of your past. This is why in its way day Harry Potter was so popular with LGBT and "alternative" kids. It is important that we guide that understanding of the books through the lens of understanding the author doesn't feel that way.

When we completely write off the books and remove them from our lives, our children's lives, ridicule people for reading and enjoying them we actually remove an opportunity to develop better critical thinking and reading skills. We remove an opportunity to teach or practice bias identification in writing. But most of all we remove people's ability to come to their own conclusions about the true moral of the story.

I love these hoodies a lot; they are from that one drawing that Yana did of Diasomnia boys going to a movie theater. Katsu and I both are so obsessed with it; they look so adorable wearing those! When you have nothing better to do, the first thing the body tends to do is wander. Sibling Ali wasn't spared from that boredom. Looking down as they kicked a rock along the gravel path leading to the gardens, anger still festered from their previous punishment from earlier. Ignoring a summons led to detention, the sixth time this week for them. Ali's feet led them to their own accord, hands stuffed into their pockets and trying to ease themselves.

The path led three ways once exiting the garden. The graveyard, the forest, or the lake; Ali going to the lake as the kicking of rocks had suddenly become more interesting when water was involved. Leaning down, Ali had begun to skip rocks near the shoreline, no thoughts playing in their mind as they opted for their distraction. About the sixth rock in, Ali's attention had diverted as something on the other side surfaced, but only for a brief moment before dipping down again.

Curiosity had gotten the best of them, slowly walking around. It wasn't uncommon for water ghouls to be found lurking underneath, if anything, it was recommended to leave the moment one was spotted. Advised to never enter alone unless other ghouls or siblings were present as they were listed as silent killers. As Ali finally got to the other dock, that same flashed resurfaced fully to the wood above, a hand combing through dark hair. Ali was breathless as they admired fins down the ghouls back that practically reflected the light into their eyes. Their foot scraped the gravel again, making the ghoul to turn around instantly before covering their unmasked face.

"A-Ah! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to... Ya know... Walk over to you while you were— Uhm..." Ali trailed off, starting to slowly walk backwards only to stop as the ghoul slowly turned around again.

Hands still covered their face but an eye, full of confusion. This sibling wasn't... Scared? Ali got the question quickly, now rubbing their wrist with nervousness.

"No, I don't mind... If anything, I think it's stupid they make you all be masked twenty-four-seven." They shrugged. "Besides you're swimming so it wouldn't make sense to wear one."

They watched with a soft blush as the ghoul slowly lowered their hands, giving a small smile before turning fully. Their blush had quickly deepened and spread, staring at the ghoul presented before them. Their face was rounded yet still sharp, black and wavy hair reaching their shoulders, white scales littered underneath soft blue eyes that seemed to speak despite their lips never parting. Curious, just as much as Ali was.

The ghoul turned their shoulders, Ali clutching their pants leg tightly as the water ghoul's perked breasts came into view. They had sat in a way to purposely extenuate their chest, tail still in the water that swayed back and forth. Angelic was the only thing Ali could think to describe it.

A tap to the dock got Ali to look, seeing the ghoul patting the spot next to them. An invitation.

Once more, Ali's feet moved on their own accord, slowly taking off their shoes and socks once they got near—sitting on the edge and letting their feet graze the water below. The ghoul purred, smile still soft as they looked over the human with just as much admiration Ali had. They let out a small roll of their tongue, commonly known as a 'trill' Ali had been taught it was called.

"Sorry, I just..." They swallowed hard. "You're really pretty... I'm normally more put-together than this. I've never seen one of you beneath the masks before."

Shoulders bouncing, the ghoul began to silently laugh, and in return their chest bounced which caused Ali's eyes to flicker down before returning back up. The ghoul leaned over some, hand lifting to slowly caress down Ali's face, claw delicate as it tapped at a mole.

With their hand fully cupping Ali's cheek, they held eye contact with shaking breaths. They stared at one another before a gentle pull began, Ali leaning over until their breaths mixed and a gap was closed. Now, Ali knew ghouls were sexual creatures and it was perfectly fine to consummate with them, but it was still their first time even being alone with one. They pulled back, covering their lips and giggling nervously.

Once again there was that smile, Ali hesitantly giving one back before feeling a different type of pull—internal—to lean forwards again but not kiss. Just barely grazing. The ghoul was pressed against their arm, eyes going down to their chest again.

Ali admired what sat next to them, breasts moving in time with breathing, a belly button piercing just before skin turned to scales. There was even a small slit that opened some, a single drop of slick making it's way out and over the ghoul's side. Ali watched as their hand was grabbed and placed delicately on the slit, the ghoul making a rubbing motion before letting go—the sibling still making the motion and looking with awe as the slit opened more and their fingers sank inside.

Their other hand was grabbed and moved to the closest perked breast, groping as if it was second nature. The ghoul leaned into view again and their lips became intertwined, Ali working both their hands in almost a sync with their mouth. They could feel the ghoul's hands touch their waist, body shivering and slick protruding more from their slit.

Was this how water ghouls mated? A slit in their tails? Ali curled their fingers up and watched the ghoul tremble more, hands gripping tighter as their hips twitched upwards.

Tongue pushing in, Ali opened their mouth for the water they still didn't have the name of, feeling them laying down and Ali following—legs going over the ghoul's waist as a hand went down their pants as well. Wet fingers went over equally wet folds, Ali trembling beneath their touch and starting to rock their own hips downwards. The hand on their waist tightening as their tail hit against the water, showing their ever increasing excitement.

Circling Ali's twitching nub, the ghoul let out another trill as their tongue retracted, breathing heavier before lifting their head to kiss again. Ali quickened their fingers in the ghoul's slit, watching and feeling them become more slick and twitch further up. This was serenity and everything Ali could ever think of as the ghoul moved from their mouth to kiss down their neck. For a moment, Ali had wanted to laugh at the advisories.

Wanted to.

As the ghoul got to their jugular and trilled louder as they orgasmed, teeth had sank in immediately, and before Ali could even make a noise their bodies had rolled into the water right next to them. From above, clothes could be seen drifting to the surface along with red liquid staining against soft blue of the water.

It was only two hours since Rain had left out, Swiss waving over the couch as they heard the den door close and wet footsteps follow. The multi hummed, turning from his video game as Rain leaned over the side for a kiss. Instantly, Swiss' eyes contracted to slits, pulling back after a second to whistle.

"Well hello to you, too. Giving poor, little, helpless me some leftovers like a baby bird?" He teased, quickly glancing to pause his game before watching Rain come around the couch to sit on his lap.

His white button up was soaked, showing his chest and even a bruise forming on his stomach. He brought his hands up, "Maybe. Beelzebub knows you can't fish to save your life."

"Ohh, you're so mean to me!" Swiss laughed, leaning forwards for another kiss.

Rain purred, bringing his claws up to gently comb through Swiss' afro, sighing as his mouth went to his neck to lick in his gills. He held Swiss there as his body welcomed the true pleasure rather than the fake he had been giving all day.

"Bet they didn't touch you right, did they baby?" The multi mumbled between his sucks, hands reaching under to grope Rain's ass.

A groan came from the water, letting Swiss pull back so they could sign again—frustration showing.

"Out of all three of them, not one got my clit out. That's how terrible they are."

Swiss flopped the wet ghoul onto the couch, not caring as Mountain would whine at the soaked cushions since Rain hadn't dried off. "My poor princess... Gotta fix that, yeah?"

Rain nodded eagerly, letting Swiss unbutton his shorts and pull down, whistling again and starting to laugh. Besides being commando, Rain's teeth had made itself known while still closed tightly but a finger poked out, making him hum as he touched over the exposed bone. Swiss gently scratched at Rain's taint and watched the teeth slowly open, grabbing the finger out—admiring the pink nail polish he'd recommend to Sunshine later—and putting it in his own mouth. Rain rolled his eyes but face still flushed in embarrassment as he hadn't even noticed the part still inside him.

Once the teeth had completely covered back in, Swiss spread Rain's fold with his thumb, dragging up and rubbing at another tiny hole.

"See," Swiss adjusted the finger in his mouth before biting down to break the bone, talking with his mouth full. "They can't even get your clit out... But I can get our lovely lady out."

As if simply being mentioned was a summon, Rain's tentacle lifted out of the hole, wrapping around Swiss' hand and sucking on his palm. The multi looked up to see Rain's head tilted back, trying to catch his breath as the relief he desperately needed filled had finally started. Swiss stroked his tentacle, leaning down to suck at a nipple poking out from the shirt, feeling Rain's legs go around his hips and pull him close.

Popping up once more before he delved back down, Swiss groaned. "Don't you worry. I've got you, princess. Gonna put em' all to shame for you."

A loud trill came from the couch as Swiss squeezed his hand and closed his teeth around Rain's nipple.

the cast of HBO's Homestuck are actually getting along pretty well! Mostly because the director went out of his way to cast actual 13-year-olds/6-sweep-olds. Mild Controversy Ensues

it's so important to me that HBO Karkat and HBO John's actors are besties. there's a half hour of outtakes uploaded to youtube where they're trying to get through the ATTENTION WORTHLESS HUMAN speech and HBO Karkat keeps giggling too much and breaking character.

(in an interview, HBO Karkat's actor, 6 sweep year old violet blood Risnel Aquinn, reveals that he doesn't have gills or properly formed fins, making him a seadweller who can't live as a seadweller. He talks about how important playing Karkat feels to him- how much his story inspired him, and how much he just hopes he's doing his favorite God justice as a mutant himself.)

meanwhile I cannot stress enough how much the cast of CW's Homestuck hate each other. Like they are ready to go at each other's throats and not even in a pitch way

CW Rose and CW Kanaya have been sending each other passive aggressive death threats by excusing it as ''method acting'' even though CW Rose got killed off for the seventh time in the 5th episode. Their 'romance' feels utterly loveless, like those cishet women who play lesbians on tv and kiss in the most passionless way possible. CW Kanaya may be conspiring to get Rose written out of the show. The showrunner thinks it's so funny he keeps egging it on.

CW Dave's actor has a Misha Collins-esque scandal where he accidentally comes out as a transman at a con and then two days later walks it back and comes out as a cisgender man. this somehow leads to the actual god of Time Dave revealing he's trans, causing mass chaos.

Ironically, CW Karkat is played by Troll Misha Collins

These are my personal designs/references for SMG4 because of how much I draw fan art for it. You can tell which ones are my absolute favorites to draw based on how much I’ve changed them basically. It’s organized by Recolors, The Girls, Non-Human, and Excess (sorry Kaizo)

Mario: I gave him stitches on his outfit because of how often he explodes and gets hurt (Luigi fixes his clothes since that’s less expensive than constantly replacing them), and those dark marks on his face from when Zero grabbed him and did that weird crap during the 10 year anniversary video. I also gave him a star pin on his overalls too.

SMG4: There’s so much. I made him shorter, changed his body type, gave him darker skin, scars from when he was possessed by the TV Adware dude (and other various scars), eyebags, a jacket, IV on his gloves, and the arrow from the USBs. He also has the arrow on the back of his jacket, but I haven’t drawn his back view before with this design so that’s never been visible in my art yet.

SMG3: I made him even shorter than SMG4, gave him longer hair, matching scars to SMG4, darker skin, a cape, black gloves, platformer boots, the USB arrow, and I changed his body type. The back of his cape has the same skull design that’s on his hat and boots too.

Luigi: I didn’t change too much to him, just his shirt, a flower pin, and some scars. Also he’s round like Mario but not the “skinny brother” because I don’t personally believe in that. (Though whenever he takes off his shirt he immediately becomes a buff man because SMG4 logic)

X: This one was fun. He already has dark skin on his recolor self, so I also went ahead and gave him curly hair, a beard, eye bags, a beanie, hoodie, changed his height, and gave him a cool weird eye thing because why not. He and FM also have similar eye colorings to 3 and 4

FM: He’s the only recolor I decided to make not chubby but instead kinda fit since he’s a police officer. I also gave him a police styled hat, badge, different shirt and gloves, longer hair, a bunch of scars, piercings, and steel toed boots. He looks pretty cool :D

Minion: Parts of her design I did out of pure spite. Her body type matches SMG4’s but she’s a bit shorter, an overalls skirt thing, matching hat, pink gloves, some long socks, and I kept her mustache but just made it smaller. Why? Well, I haven’t headcanoned SMG4 as trans (unlike what a lot of my friends and mutual have done), but I did do that for Minion, because in my mind, she basically has SMG4’s exact body type, including the reproductive organs. But she’s still a woman. And I also believe that women (cis and trans) shouldn’t have to feel shame for having facial hair or body hair, so I kept that there, again, out of spite for people who really feminize her body in a stereotypical way in their personal designs for her.

Meggy: I’m not an extremist for Inkling Meggy or anything, I do like her as a human, but I’m still not sure why they chose to make her a human and not just a squid that’s not Nintendo styled. So instead I just gave her some other squid attributes, like the typical tentacle hair thing, but also some fins on her arms and legs. Her skin is a little darker and she has freckles now. I made her outfit more black and orange themed because I personally hate the dull whites and browns on her outfit. To reference two of her other outfits, I had her keep her college jacket tied around her waist, and her glasses on her shirt since I feel she probably needs them for reading still. I also gave her more sports styled clothes like her shorts and the knee pads. And I removed her goggles because I despise drawing them, she has too much accessories on her head and that one section is so annoying to draw. Lastly, I made her a bit muscular because there’s no way every single one of the girls has the exact same body type.

Tari: Her design just got updated when I was in the middle of working on this, and it’s really good so I only changed her body type by making her chubby and added a gradient to her hair.

Saiko: Her outfit is cool minus the colors, so I gave her a more pink and black theme for her outfit colors. I also made her more muscular and gave her some scars since she’s known as the more violent one in SMG4 who carries that massive ass hammer just casually.

Melony: I looked up where watermelons came from, and they came from Africa apparently, so I made her black (also because all the human characters are white/light skinned so I changed that) and I think it makes sense with her hair too because of the thingies that come down over her ears. It also makes the pointy things behind her hood make sense too. I changed her body to have more body fat and gave her some stretch marks and cellulite to go with it. I like her hoodie, but you can’t tell me that’s all she has on, so I also gave her some shorts, since she gets sexualized so much.. She also has shoes too, those socks would be so nasty otherwise. Her diety form is gonna have actual armour because that makes more sense than just a different colored hoodie.

Belle: I changed nothing about her, not because I don’t like her or think her design is perfect or anything, (she’s great and I miss her ;-;), but I actually chose to keep her as is just because people who look like her and have her body type still exist, they’re just not the only one or the main one. Humans vary a lot.

Karen: I didn’t change much, but since she’s a single mother, I made her body look a little more like a middle aged woman, and gave her a sweater her kids made for her too that she wears proudly.

Shroomy: I know there are multiple characters that are technically naked, but I felt that Shroomy should at least have a Boy Scouts outfit on, he lives in a world with Toads which do have clothes so it didn’t feel right to have just the badge thing over him

Bob, Rob, Boopkins, and Jub Jub: I kept them as is because there’s not much to their appearances anyway, minus a few rips and tears for Bob’s outfit.

SMG2: I made his body a little more proportional so that his head was at least not larger than the rest of his whole fucking body, and I gave him some excess scars since he and SMG1 have been around for the longest, and have probably been through a lot together. I also gave him sleeves, shoes, glasses, and matching gloves that all the SMGs now have. His antenna thing is also thicker because I don’t wanna make it too thin.

SMG1: His body is also more proportional, but that’s mainly because I didn’t like making his torso long. I also gave him clothes to match 2 a little more but darker. He’s got excess scars as well, and his gloves are opposite to 2’s similar to how I made 3 and 4’s gloves opposite of each other. He’s also got glasses like 2, and they match their head shapes.

Kaizo: I fucking love Kaizo, he looks so damn cool to me, so I kept his outfit the same, just changed up his body. He’s more muscular and has more demonic features (pointed pupils and ears, tail, more sharp teeth, forked tongue, claw-like nails), as well as a bunch of scars everywhere on his body. Plus more body hair, and based on a Kaizo design I saw elsewhere (I forgot who made it) but I made the ends of his hair dyed red because it looks cool. And piercings.

Swag and Chris: I love these two, but I couldn’t think of how to change Swag and Chris besides making them a buff and old. (To me, they’re at least in their 30’s or 40’s). I do believe in dilf Chris tho, so make whatever assumptions you want from that.

Whimpu: I actually really don’t like Whimpu, mainly for his personality, but also because of the Waifu Factory episode, it just really made me uncomfortable with how objectified and dehumanized the anime girls were in it, and he was a big part of that. Still, I wanted to change him a bit since his design is a little plain. He’s still plain, but a bit less. I added acne, buttons on the tie, and a shirt pocket with a pen in it.

Steve: I hate how I end up drawing Steve, but I didn’t want him to look too human in a normal way, because a part of his charm is being this weird block dude. So he just looks like a more blocky human with dirty clothes, a lot of scars, and a beard.

A Year in Vampire books

Aka I read a lot of vampire books and wanted to share my favorites of the year. (List in no particular ranked order)

A Dowry of Blood by S.T Gibson - If you haven't read this one you are seriously missing out. Dracula brides unionize.It's Queer with a wonderful written poly relationship, religious themes. The vampire lore in this was fantastic. How vampires are and how vampric they is done in such an interesting way I've never seen before. Also the backdrop of history in this one is lovely. Modern day vampire classic. All of the brides have my hearts ( especially Magdalena)

Court Of the undying season by A.M Strickland- Whumpy!! A murder mystery in a school for humans training to be vampires, where many things go wrong.The world building in this made me go a little bit insane. A very interesting take on a vampire and sires relationship. Sire’s and their turned have such a complicated relationship and I love it.I Seriously still think about the twist in this book. Also every character feels so unique in their own way. Also the inherent Queer drama caused by vampire relationship. The trans rep on this book is great. These vampires are all developing their own versions of gender. ( also for people who follow me because of Blood of Eden the main character Fin is really serving Allie in the best way possible. )

Nestlings by Nat Cassidy - This is the true horror one of the list. Warning if your put off by horror involving babies / baby's being in danger in fiction this one might not be for you. A married couple get picked to live in a new apartment building but things are not as they seem. All the while the main character Anne struggles to adapt with being paralyzed due to a complication during giving birth.Vampires as monster in the most off- putting way possible. Bonus Nat writes women so well I was convinced he was a women until I looked him up. One of my favorite horror authors and favorite horror books of the year. Nestlings deals with themes of disability feelings conformable in ourselves in the horrors of motherhood. Bonus for the main characters being Jewish!

🃏Hey everyone- I know this isn’t like the other posts but I have kept seeing this comment with my exos- so I wanted to clear some confusion. This is going to be a lot of explaining and AU stuff so- uh- buckle up.

There is three groups of exos that will be discussed here, there is;

Bio-Exos - Exos that look like their original factory model body that was assigned to them at the transfer. This does not change their pronouns they can still have a feminine body model, but be non-binary.

(After Transfer) Trans-Exos - Exos that have experienced gender dysphoria after the transfer process, typically these exos will be seen with their original body model characteristics and parts of their plating that seems off color, but mostly non-dented or lack of scratches.

(During Transfer) Trans-Exos - Exos that before being transferred into their Exo body have expressed wanting to be in a different body model and have been in the respective model while in transfer.

Examples of each Exo, and some common misinformation of them;

Argent (💣) - Bio exo, but due to the scratches around his plating and constant need to defuse the bombs underneath the chest plating there is usually a larger gap to help make the process a bit easier. But he is not trans, it’s just scratches along the paint and has always been/assigned the masculine body model.

Serpent (🍣) - (After Transfer) Trans exo, When Serpent was risen he had experienced an extreme version of “memory card” symptoms that is also the exo version of Gender Dysmorphia within his body. But due to the red war a lot of his body was damaged, so he took the time to adjust his body into one he feels more comfortable and happy in. In doing this he now has breast-bone scars that are in the shape of the similar magnetic fins around his “ears” ( Also Serpent is a Mute character and speaks in ASL ( American Sign Language) and ESL (Eliksni Sign Language).

Micah-10 - (During Transfer) Trans Exo, (Ok I don’t know a lot of lore of Micah 10 But I will use them as an example of what this exo is like- Ok- OK) An exo while during the transferred process of the human mind to the exo body has expressed the desire of a different factory model. This causing them to have basically placing the brain in the correct body of which the previous person wanted. This means they have full bodies and characteristics of their gender and no signs of altercations unless wanting to present them on themselves (ex: Scars, symbols, lights. etc.)

I just wanted to clear the confusion because I get a lot of the exos have the gap under their chest plates that can/would look like they are trans. But unless I have addressed the character being trans with these characteristics then they are not in this AU, and I still hope you enjoy the new exo boy serpent. He can’t wait to maybe join in during the red war and answer some questions!
