Predictions for the best (Blue) Boys:

I'm so excited to get what I believe will be Lapis Lads (two Blue Boys) in the next portion of Perfect 10 Liners.

I think Faifa will be the lighter Blue Boy.
And Wine will be the darker Blue Boy.
But the reason I'm so excited isn't just because of the color, but because of what the color potentially says about the boys' relationship.

Faifa is used to dealing with darkness due to his brother being a Black Brooder.

Yotha gets upset because Faifa always sees the good in everything.
But Faifa is bothered that his brother only sees the worst.
And because of that, it comes across that Faifa is on the opposite side of Yotha, but he is actually a balancer, standing between two extremes.
Blue Boys are known for being stable, so the most stable point of any structure should be the middle. It's the center of gravity where the weight is evenly distributed. Therefore, Faifa is usually in the middle.
Blue Boys are also known for their relaxing, calming, and passive nature, so they tend to be the peacemakers.
And they are quick to step in when there is conflict, so Faifa was the one to convince Gun and his friends that Yotha wasn't a serial killer, he was the one to try to make peace in his family, and he was the one to take Gun home after the fight.
But the problem with being in the middle of two extremes is the middle is just really space between the noise that only serves the purpose of helping stabilize the two opposite sides.
Therefore, when things are going well or there is no longer a need for balance or peace talks, they, themselves, are no longer needed.
The middle is ignored.
Literally.

Faifa has made several comments about being ignored and forgotten because even his peer mentor ditched him in the very beginning. Hell, his mom forgot he was allergic to milk!
But it's been played up for laughs, which would be funny until we remember Faifa's backstory.
Faifa was chosen by his mom to be the peacemaker in their family. She took him in the custody battle because she knew he'd want to visit his brothers and dad since he wants to make everyone happy, which meant she'd also get to see her other sons. But once she had more kids, she sent Faifa back to his dad.
Now Faifa wants to please everyone because he has learned that if he isn't "of use" then he is expendable, which is why he was quick to sacrifice himself and switch rooms with Gun even though he was very excited to room with his brother, and even though Gun and Kong only originally wanted to be his friend because they wanted to use him for his money. Basically, he gives everything, yet gets nothing in return.
Faifa sacrifices himself all of the time to make sure others are okay without getting anything back. In fact, Faifa almost passed out because he gave his water to someone else, but, luckily, Wine was there to rescue him . . . from himself.
If Wine is a darker blue, he'll share qualities with Black Brooders, and we have already been shown some: Wine has a long-term plan regarding his schooling for undisclosed reasons, so he is also a bit guarded and secretive, which comes from his darker side. He barely gave Faifa his name after meeting him a few times even though Faifa already knew his name after the first meeting. But he also has the potential to be protective and possessive.
And nobody needs more protection than Faifa. The first time Faifa met Wine, he gave Wine his sticker so Wine could complete his reward card, and each time they have met since, Wine sees that Faifa is too kind for his own good. He actually lectures him about the water incident, and how he needs to take care of himself instead of worrying about others.
Faifa, the boy who is terrified of being forgotten, attaches himself to Wine because Yotha, who is Wine's peer mentor, is too busy caring about Gun to pay attention to Wine. He doesn't want Wine to be ignored, but I think Wine is going to quickly see how Faifa wants to care about everyone and will not want to burden him more, but will also get upset that Faifa doesn't take care of himself.
Because after Faifa accidentally crushed Wine's drink, he bought a new shirt for Wine, socks, FOUR new drinks of various sweetness levels, wet wipes, dry wipes, and he would've gotten Wine shoes too but he didn't know his size. Yet Wine wanted none of it. He didn't want to be a burden, and he had already forgiven Faifa, so he didn't need anything but Faifa's word.
Faifa's been giving his entire life, so now he has met someone who doesn't want anything he is offering. Not his money. Not his food. Not his tutoring. Faifa has been the middle his whole life, but now it's time for him to be the extreme: Faifa is too open. Wine is too guarded. Faifa is too sociable. Wine is too anti-social. Faifa is too happy. Wine is too sad.
But in truth they are two sides of the same blue coin. Neither wants to burden anyone, so Faifa gives everything while Wine takes nothing. Faifa is so scared nobody will love him that he tries to make everyone like him, and Wine is probably so afraid nobody will ever really want him, so he never opens up.
And because they are both intelligent and hues of blue, this will cause the most issues. Wine won't know Faifa likes him because Faifa likes everyone, and Faifa won't think Wine likes him because Wine barely likes anyone. And neither one of them will want to burden the other one with their feelings since they doubt anyone will love them, so they will simply pine from a distance.

So I'm hoping that I am getting two extremes (of blueness) who will be knocked off-balance, which will require them to find the balance between each other, and that these two smart boys do the dumbest shit once they incorrectly believe they are in an unrequited love story.

Basically, I want to see the best (blue) boys at their worst.
#perfect 10 liners#the colors mean things#color coded boys in love#long post#because I have thoughts!#I want these two to drive each other crazy#but only because they love each other#and can't figure out where the middle ground is#they are going to have to learn how to find balance within themselves and each other#they are going to have to learn how to be selfish#and that's going to be hard for a blue boy#they only know sacrifice

whatre ur thoughts on superbat !!!
I like them! I don't actively ship Bruce with anyone but I so passively ship him with people and Clark pushes the passivity.
I don't like Batcat or Brutalia but I can go with superbat
Sometimes it feels like Superbat is the ship DC secretly wants us to ship them together.
I swear it feels like Bruce and Clark are having a parental argument and we just asked a question to which Bruce and Clark are like "what?" and the rest of the Justice League is glaring at us as if to say shut up don't you dare interfere.
Also the way Clark holds Bruce and talks to him
Dark Nights: Metal Issue #2
...is this supposed to be brotherly?
In the Superman: Up in the sky comic where Supes has to go find that kid, the other heroes are fighting an alien invasion they lose against. But the heroes he displays are only heroes that Superman loves the most or is closet to. There's 5 and guess who's the main panel:
Superman: Up in the Sky Issue #6
The other four are:
Superman: Up in the Sky Issue #6
Also the world's finest comics are all Dick, Clark, and Bruce going on adventures together. Dick is like the love child between Clark and Bruce. He has all of Bruce's intelligence, tactical abilities, and fighting skills, and he has all of Clark's charisma, warm-heartenedness, and good standing. He literally the mix of the two of them.
They're already a family. I think there are way bigger reasons to ship superbat than there are for batcat or brutalia. I still love Clois though but if you wanted a canon reason for why they should exist, well, DC is offering them up on a silver platter. Besides they have like three entire comics titled Superman/Batman.
The super-sons comic!
If Dick is their blood son then Jon and Dami are shared custody.
Super-sons (2017) Issue #5
They're kinda more like brothers here but still. Even if you don't ship them together, you still have to admit they care deeply about the other. Their banter's funny.
Also can't forget this

Superman/Batman Annual #1
DC literally went "...and there was only one bed."

Ok… hear me out, a fic where Jack Drake and Dana winters break up semi-peacefully, but Tim and Dana have already started to bond as step-family, so Dana keeps in touch. Over the years their relationship evolves into not quite a mother-son relationship, but they’re really good friends who happen to at some point have been legally related.
The story somewhat follows cannon, except nothing bad happens to Dana, and when Jack dies, Dana fights Bruce for custody, and wins.
Eventually, after lots of interrogation (from Dana, she has to make sure this millionaire guy is safe for her friend/ex-step-son) Dana agrees to split custody with Bruce. (Admittedly it’s a relief, Dana was not ready to parent a teenager all by herself)
Que Bruce and Dana either passive aggressively competing to be Tim’s favorite, or becoming the best of friends.
The tabloids go crazy, as suddenly Dana is considered “Wayne adjacent” and therefore famous.
Basically all I want is Dana and Tim content, is that too big of an ask?
(I can’t remember if there was anything else I had on this idea, but oh well.)
#tim drake#dana winters#batfam#Tim gains a mother figure#Damian: who tf is this??#Tim: your new ex-stepmother-once-or-twice-removed#Bruce and Dana compete to see who shows up to more pta meetings#just wait till Dana finds out about Robin…

Omg that’s such a good point about moral passivity=death in asoiaf. I agree that’s what prevented GRRM from ever seeing Ned as the true hero/male lead of ASoiaf. I also think GRRM has a thing for underdogs and outcasts, of which Ned is neither. Dany on the other hand comes from nothing, has only viserys as family, is abused by him her whole life, and is sold into marriage. And yet still she is driven to help people and make the hard choices, at great cost to herself. On the other hand I think dany’s backround (especially compared to the Stark kids who grew up in wealth and comfort) was one of the things that biased them against her, because in their mind might makes right, and the status quo is good, and people on the bottom should stay on the bottom and shouldn’t rise up. That’s also why they demonized Dany, and made her the ultimate villain of the show, because they believe in the neoliberal notion that fighting back against evil makes you just as bad as the thing your fighting, and it’s better to do nothing in the face of deep societal injustice.
Agree with pretty much everything. I would go beyond this and say that passivity of any kind is an unforgivable flaw for GRRM. We see this with Doran Martell, who GRRM clearly likes ... but he can't get a win because he wasted too much time doing nothing .
And, like, Ned is very passive in general. We don't realize it because he is the main character of the first book, so we want to root for him. But the guy would gladly bury his head in the sand/run away to Winterfell if he could, the rest of Westeros be damned. I wondered for a long time how tf Ned and Robert managed to be such good friends, because they seem so different, but they really aren't. They both dislike facing reality, they both neglect their children* in some way or other and neither of them sees everything wrong with the status quo. (Like, Ned is pretty much making the same mistakes with Arya his father did with Lyanna! Yes, he hires a sword teacher for her, but it's Jon who gave Arya the sword that started everything, not Ned. And he clearly expects Arya to more or less grow out of her tomboy phase and 'do her duty'. He doesn't see anything wrong with the fact that she is barred from the Kingsguard, the Citadel or the position of High Septon for simply being a girl. Not to mention the way he seems to more or less regard Bran's life as being over once he can't walk anymore. Again, it's Jon who asks Tyrion to make a saddle for Bran to ride, it doesn't even occur to Ned that Bran might still be able to do normal activities if he has help.)
*There is no question that Robert neglected both his legal and his biological children. But Ned also kinda neglected his, especially the girls. Sansa and Arya are stuck in a very very toxic dynamic of golden child-black sheep, probably created by Septa Mordane and reinforced by Catelyn, but Ned only seems to realize this when he gets sole custody of the girls. Also, the fact that Ned didn't seem to have any plan for Robb and Jon beyond 'future Lord of WF and his right hand' is kinda another black mark against him. One could argue that if Ned had tried to look for a wife for Robb, there would have been no Frey engagement to break and no Red Wedding.
Anyway, yeah, passivity=death IMO.
As for D&D and Dany, I honestly don't think it's that deep. I think they more or less so the Targaryens as bad because Ned was part of a rebellion to despose them, and well, Ned=Good in their eyes. So Dany can't be good. It's also why I think Jon gets sent in exile bc well, Jon is also a Targaryen by birth. We only need the 'pure' Starks at the end of the day, for good to triumph over evil. D&D seem to have a veeeery simplistic worldview, I think even Disney's Descendants would seem too morally grey for them LOL.
So I think the show's downfall was the fact that it was made by two people who seem to want to do straightforward epic fantasy and could not, for the life of them, deal with nuance of any kind.

aus id like to do but refuse to touch until at least two of the others are finished also for most of these this is all i got
rwby au: more mk centered with him taking ruby rose's place and with wukong basically haunting the narrative summer rose style, gold eyes replacing silver eyes, theyre both faunus(well most of the cast would be faunus technically)
hunger games au: wukong volunteering in place of mk. or mentor wukong and mk volunteering in place of bai he. or second one but wukong is mentor and parent, macaque is also parent but probably dead or presumed dead cause mcs arent aloud to have both in this series, not district 12 or at least not book district 12, edit because i thought of something even worse: both bai he and mk are chosen(one boy one girl) and both are wukongs kids hes a previous victor and so was macaque, they are a "family of victors" and wukong is about to start hell to save his kids
new but old(name pending): mk couldnt stop wukongs sacrifice to the pillar and the world is reborn but broken and not totally a clean slate and something something history repeats but no it doesnt, mk and and wukong switch places...kinda
nani and lilo au(no name yet): not a lilo and stitch au exactly but wukong and mk in a similar situation as nani and lilo, aka struggling older sibling trying desperately to keep custody of their younger sibling
apothecary dairies au: okay so not really, its more like to keep wukong under control hes forced to become one of the jade emperors high ranking concubines(think one of the 4 major ones like AD) his powers are kept under seals so he cant fight back or escape, only his passive powers usable(eyes, astral projection, shield), lots of drama, maybe a rescue mission staged by the crew whether by accident or on purpose who knows, maybe an oc baby(he is unfortunately still a concubine).
apothecary dairies au part 2: expanding on one post i did a a little bit ago, ancient china, no powers but still demons, princess wukong sent to be a mid/low ranking concubine and trying to avoid the emperors interest and macaque proving himself in battle as a warrior to earn the right to ask for a concubine as a "reward"
time travel au: this one still has no plot yet :'(, just pilgrims getting to see wukongs life and family in the future and some of the consequences he has to deal with due to jttw decisions (macaque, LDB, circlet stuff, the brotherhood)
#ezzie rambles#lmk#lego monkie kid#lmk sun wukong#lmk mk#lmk macaque#shadowpeach#most of these are either mom wukong#or mom adjacent wukong#and one child wukong#which with my track record checks out

Twisted Night At The Museum HCs/Thoughts/Concepts:
These are brain farts but ya'll are making me feel like I have the biggest brain so-
- If the Daley! Reader had a Unique Magic it'd be: "Alive for the Night" where basically any statues on display and stuff can come to life. Including the ones of the Great Seven but they can only do it at night. (Idk if you guys want them to have it or not, ya'll can fight about it in the notes)
- The Daley! Reader was also adopted by Larry after Nicky moved out and became a DJ, Larry is still a super protective father whose very anxious and is looking through various museum archives to figure out if something can be done about his child whose stuck in Twisted Wonderland. He requires you to check the mirror and talk to him at least 4 times a day to know you're alright and if you miss a time, YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD EXCUSE-
- No but parent teacher conferences and you have to hold the mirror so that your teachers can talk to Larry through it.
Larry Daley + His Relationship with the Staff:
- Crowley: No, he's been in this game long enough to know that Crowley isn't trustworthy and while you KNOW he isn't trust worthy, he is the reason that Larry wants you to check in 4 times a day. Crowley tries to paint it like everything is fine and Larry pretends to believe him. Crowley is just a bit off put by Larry because you're already such an odd and resourceful individual, that he can't imagine what your father (the man who raised you) must be like and while he laughs whenever Larry promises to bring you home, Crowley slowly starts to believe him. Like, bro, he deals with a magic tablet and brought a family of old Egyptian pharaohs together, Larry Daley is getting his child back.
- Crewel is the only man in this school that Larry trusts, along with Trein, but Larry does notice that Crewel seems a lot more concerned with your safety and has a soft spot for you. Crewel will also give Larry due respect and while he's not sure about his bland outfit choices, he's very much aware that your father loves and is worried for you and so, Crewel will make sure you are well behaved and taken care off until you're able to reunite. It's bittersweet for him because he does grow to get attatched to you but soon realizes that he's never gonna be your father back home. (SPLIT CUSTODY IS ALL I'M GONNA SAY).
- Vargas: Larry hates him so much. Like in the movies, he's always snarky and closed off from people he dislikes so their conversations are always so passive aggressive. Like, Vargas is all: "Ha, no wonder you look so wimpy! Look at your dad!" and Larry is all: "First of all, they're adopted (but still my kid) so neither of us can really say anything but second of all, I went face to face with a triceratops, so, yeah. Not sure if they have those in your world, but thats pretty impressive." and Vargas just brushes him off and he HATES IT.
- Next is Trein, who is like a strict grandpa to you and one of the other teachers who get along with Larry. As a father himself, he admires Larry trying to protect you as best as he can while he's in a different world, and he couldn't imagine what it would be like if his own children where stranded in a place he couldn't protect them in. So yeah, while your dad is awkward, Trein tries to help him out and ease both his and your anxieties. I also can totally see Dexter the Cappuchin Monkey and Lucius fighting across the mirror.
- Sam is one that Larry doesn't see to often aside from Larry trying to find old spells in old archives that require magical ingredients that he doesn't know about so he'll ask Sam about them or see if he can find any suitable substitutes and Sam will do it of course, for a fee. He really admires your dad's dedication but he also admires the relationship and bond you two have. Yeah, you might come into his shop to rant about how protective he is and some other flaws but you love him dearly. Sometimes he'll throw in a few freebies because at the end of the day, you two just want to be with each other again.
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT SOME STUDENTS AND HOW I FEEL LIKE INTERACTIONS WITH THEM WOULD GO.
Now back to some general headcanons:
- Okay so have you guys seen the Stuart Little movies? Where he has a bunch of ladders and stuff around the room because he's small and can't get to places faster, thats kinda what you have to do for Jedediah and Octavius. They sleep on your nightstand after Deuce and Jack either made tiny beds for them or you made them in a wood work class or something.
- I can also totally see that after the first winter break, your first year friends bring back some old childhood toys that maybe Jedediah and Octavius can use to help or to help them travel faster around the campus.
- Deuce brought back an old remote controlled Magic Wheel (the motorcycle thing he likes) and gave it to them so not only can they ride around in style but they also have a tendency to drive recklessly and trip over poor unsuspecting students who are just trying to walk to their class. They'll do it especially if they mess with you.
- Ace brings them back like, tiny weapons from his old toy soldiers and stuff and while they might not do much, he just thinks its so funny how serious Octavius is when he's all: "Thank you, Child of Trappola, for I now have an arsenal to defend Fort Ramshackle!" and Jedediah rolling his eyes.
- You try to keep them on higher ground, especially due to the rats but I love the idea that when you're away on classes and you trust them not to do anything stupid, they're riding around on Grim and throwing toy spears at any rats running around and defending their home. Like to them, it's an intense battle where they could possibly die but to the ghosts, it looks like they're just annoying the rats that they eventually just give up and leave because they're so annoying and rambunctious.
- Out of all of your friends, they like to use Jack as a mode of transportation. After all, he's HUGE and when they sit on his shoulders, they're absolutely amazed by how much they can see. Jack tries his best to remember they're on his shoulders but if a class is really boring and he forgets, he'll lean on one shoulder which causes them to lose balance and almost fall but hed got quick reflexes and apologizes to them.
- THE WAY EPEL AND THEM WOULD GET ALONG. Like, Epel will walk in all roughed up because he got into a fight and walk past you to rant to Jedediah and Octavius and talk about how some kids were picking on him for being cute and little and Jed and Oct are all: "YA BETTER HAVE SHOWN 'EM THAT WHAT FOR!" and Epel is all: "COURSE I DID!" and you just sigh because you know that Vil is gonna ask to keep Epel away from your "little raggedy friends".
- BELIEVE IT OR NOT, SEBEK ACTUALLY RESPECTS YOUR LITTLE CREW. Especially after he finds out you want to be a Night Gaurd and mistakes your words and believes that you come from a family of noble gaurdians who keep the ancient relics of your world safe (which is kinda true but its not that dramatic) and when he sees you defend yourself with a mere flashlight, you become his idol.
- IN NIGHT OF THE MUSEUM TWO, THERE'S THIS SCENE THAT FITS PERFECTLY WITH YOU AND SEBEK FIRST MEETING, HERE'S THE LINK BUT GO TO 1:57 BUT THAT'S HOW I IMAGINE YOUR FIRST MEETING WITH SEBEK GOES.
You, whispering as your faces are squished together: "Listen, fae boy, you do not know who you're dealing with. I've seen things in my world, stuff you can't even imagine."
Sebek, whispering back: "Like what kind of stuff?"
You: "I'm not gonna tell you, but you're gonna drop your sword-"
Sebek: "The way you said it just made it sound like you were gonna say something really cool-"
You: "Yeah, you don't get to hear it, drop the sword-"
- OKAY BUT YOU BEING DEEMED THE NIGHT GAURD OF NIGHT RAVEN COLLEGE. Like idk, maybe you don't need as much sleep as everyone or during weekends, you just hibernate and then survive on naps and energy drinks throughout the week (it's such an unhealthy habit, all of the Dorm Leaders are concerned and Vil might trick you into drinking a sleeping potion if your eyebags get too prominent) but I love the idea that the bullying rates go down. Hell, even the Savanahclaw dorm kids don't try to start with as many fights with you around because they know you'll finish them with your flashlight. Like they're all cornering you and you blind one of them temporarily before you do some cool fighting moves. Your quick wit and training as a night gaurd is the only thing you've got to give you an edge in this world and by God are you gonna use it.
-And even if that fails you, you've got friends who've got your back. Like you get cornered by some bullies and then they feel something stab their feet and Jed and Octavius are bravely stabbing their shoes and the students are hopping around in pain.
- But yeah, the Night Gaurd in you just makes you walks around Night Raven College and look at all the various statues and history and you read and do your research on Twisted Wonderland.
- Like in the first movie, the thing Larry did after his first wild night at the museum was do research and by God, do you dedicate yourself to doing research on Twisted Wonderland and the study of magic.
- ALSO MALLEUS JOINING YOU DURING YOUR LATE NIGHT PATROLS OF YOUR SCHOOL GROUNDS and telling you everything there is to know about the magic here. You know how Ahkmenrah calls Larry "Gaurdian of Brooklyn"? I feel like instead of Child of Man, Malleus would call you "Gaurdian of the Night" because you tell him that's your dad's job and you want to fill in his shoes.
- MALLEUS AND SEBEK TRYING TO GET YOU TO JOIN HIS GAURDS BUT YOUR DUTY IS TO EVERYONE BUT HE'S ALL: "You know, just in case you might have to stay for longer, there will always be a spot in my court for you. As either my gaurd or my spouse-"
- "What was that last part?"
- "What?"

The demons are tearing me apart.(the show I watch actively drives me insane, I think I won't survive the spring(it ends in 3 weeks)). So, a little distraction.
Tooth Fairy and Willow fighting for custody over Flutterpage. It's the war between them. And Caroline and Madam Z watch from the side.
In actors au I think Caroline and Willow are married and Flutterpage is their adopted kid.
Please wish me luck for the next week. It will be hell
Good luck on next week 😔
Tooth Fairy and Willow fighting for custody over Flutterpage would be less like "I'll take the child Karen, you're not taking good care of the kid" and more "She's going to spend the weekend at MY house this time"
And their comments are quite passive-aggressive as well.
"I thought you'd be content with all of your five children but it seems you can't stop stealing other people's kids" -Willow
"Last time you said you only had beans in your pantry. As a doctor, I don't recommend a diet based only on beans, unless, of course, you'd like to torture the poor little girl" -Tooth Fairy.
Flutterpage sits alongside Caroline and Madam Z, who surprisingly enough get along pretty well. They drink tea, chat about their busy lives and their stubborn lovers while said lovers tear each other apart with kind words.
"kind" words.
Z: I have heard a lot about you before your retirement, Ms Bartley
*increasingly more loud "compliments" from TF and Willow*
Caroline: Oh, please, Caroline is fine. Ms Bartley sounds too formal.
And how do they decide with whom shall Flutterpage stay for the weekend? Through a very civilized game of rock paper scissors. If they solve it through fighting, well... Tooth Fairy has quite a good hook and Willow had a metal leg, they're not getting out of that one in one-- .... Unharmed, may I say
How does Flutterpage feel about this? Pretty normal. She has her own mother, regardless if she's been washed away by the storm or not, so she doesn't have the same attachment to Tooth Fairy or Willow, she's happy either way.
(Both give her treats anyway so it's a win for her)
#reverse 1999#Url#4 mothers LMAO#Flutterpage scored the lottery bc she's got four mothers#Tooth Fairy has over 6 children already#she's just picking up kids and adopting them as she goes#and well Willow may be bitter because her only child is Flutterpage and she shares the aame attention with Tooth Fairy#Caroline comforts her but she's still bitter#There goes Tooth Fairy with a bunch of teenagers (and a deer)#and Willow with an annoying rooster of a kiddo#we love Flutterpage in this household and I will TF'd anyone who talks badly about her

With all respect, I think u guys give jkr's writing skill too much credit . Ik she said she planned everything abt hp books from the beginning( I don't believeit tbh), but she wrote some of the weirdest dumb stuff ever for the sake of the plot that don't make any sense ... Remus's life and even his name, for example. The fact that Remus hasn't visited Harry for almost 12yrs is ridiculous . "He thought Harry was safe - he felt worthless. He was a coward. " wtf?! No he didn't do it bc Harry shouldn't know abt his parents and wizarding world the End. srslyWheree were lily's friends? Oh they all passed away...Harry's grandparents THEY ALL PASSED AWAY ...problem solved (jkr is so good at this) and plus imo that also happened simply bc if Remus checked on Harry, he would be a father figure to him 100% (the role given to Sirius), and jkr didn't want Harry to have the same close connection with Remus as he did with Sirius. It would make harry -Sirius's relationship unimportant... Take Sirius's other relationships, for example. When he escaped Azkaban, he had no family, no lover, no one. Initially, I was like, "Yeah, okay," and that seemed fine. But later, it occurred to me that maybe he was written that way because he had to be solely for Harry. Like, he shouldn't care about anyone but Harry. Sirius isn't allowed to prioritize anyone over his godson.
to be fair, anon, i think two things can be true at the same time. a lot of stuff does happen in the hp universe for plot reasons---this doesn't necessarily mean it's always bad writing.
the plot required harry to be unaware of the wizarding world, alright. i don't see how this means remus would've taken, like, custody of harry or something if it hadn't! remus IS a coward. he IS extremely self flagellating. it IS completely plausible that he knew petunia wasn't a great person and left harry there anyway!
(take DH for example. he says tonks will be safe with her parents right after he tells them that her parents have been tortured for information. he isn't a stupid man, he's being deliberately cowardly.)
i understand that you probably really like remus, or at least the good bits of him, but character traits you dislike do not equal bad writing. remus consistently shows himself to be extremely passive-aggressive, conflict avoidant and unable to actually follow through on his conscience. i don't know about you, anon, but i can definitely see a man who convinced himself that withholding information about a wanted murderer was OK, convincing himself that harry is safe and better off without him.
jkr didn't have to use plot reasons to thwart remus and harry's budding relationship so that sirius could step in because...there isn't a scenario that exists wherein canon remus would step in to be an orphaned harry's father figure. i'm genuinely curious as to why you think he might. THAT, if anything, is what seems ooc to me.
as for lily, that seems to be pattern with jkr's 'popular girls'. i can't name five of ginny's friends if my life depended on it. it was also obviously done so that the snape reveal would have a greater effect. but lily isn't an established character the same way remus is.
as for sirius? i don't think it's unrealistic that he didn't have a lover/anyone waiting for him. i think people tend to forget he was only barely 22 when he got locked up; plenty of people haven't begun sorting out their lives at that age. lest we forget, he was also fighting a war pretty much the second he left hogwarts. not great for the dating scene, that. i don't think it's unrealistic at all that he hadn't thought about girls (or boys) or settling down at that time in his life.
but even if he had, i can't fathom a world in which he wouldn't transfer the love and devotion he had for james to james' son.
#answered#anonymous#remus lupin#sirius black#sirius and remus are FUNDAMENTALLY different so i genuinely cannot imagine a plot#that would have remus being the father figure to harry#whilst sirius was discarded on the side#like that's just...not them!

Hey. gently holds you by the shoulders. What do you make of the start of Everyone Hates His Parents and the way that Jason specifies how he commutes from Trina's to Marvin's, but is driven back from Marvin's to Trina's by Trina. Have we thought about that.
TLDR: At first glance, it's the usual 'Marvin's the deadbeat dad and Trina is the single mother. But Trina's newfound control over her life and the way she's finally able to act independently of Marvin has a bit of an offensive edge (with its justifications of course) and the sudden change in Marvin's character into act 2 now makes Trina feel more overbearing in a way.
Like. Jason says specifically, "Travel, travel, travel, from her house to his house." Why doesn't Marvin pick Jason up himself like Trina does? Is it from his old habits of distancing himself from his kid and operating as separate entities? Or is he purposefully distancing himself from the household that reminds him of his toxic past? Has he never forgiven himself over what he's done to his family and is keeping space to prevent it from happening again?
Then, "Each Sunday night, Mother comes to get me." In this instance specifically, Trina and Mendel come to pick Jason up after the weekend. Of course, Jason's old and mature enough to commute himself, so why does Trina pick Jason up instead of letting him commute back? To show her care towards her child? The most probable reason, given how she's spent most of his parenting life basically as a solo mother.
But if she worried about Jason that much, surely she'd drop Jason off at Marvin's? Unless she's also trying to distance her responsibility over Jason from Marvin's responsibility? (So when Mendel tells her to "Drop it... give it up... what's the matter, Trina?" in 'A Day in Falsettoland', does this suggest that while Trina still struggles with letting go of things she cannot control, she's been too used to putting the blame of her family breaking down on the fact that "[her] life is shitty and [her] kid seems like an idiot to [her]" and that Marvin's queer to realise her own failings in not only looking down on her child but in neglecting him in her wanting to cut Marvin out of her life?)
In the argument in 'Everyone Hates Their Parents', Trina opens the discussion. "I want the Applebaums, they're lovely and they like me." She asserts that she wants to "have the Applebaums" two times, before Marvin counters after each. Perhaps something could be said in the way she appears to be 'starting' the fights? Jason also notes how each of Trina's and Mendel's visits to pick him up from Marvin's spark a fight between his divorced parents. The fact that Trina comes to pick Jason up alone feels almost as if she's making the decision to 'rescue' Jason from Marvin's custody; and the fact that her visit sparks fights only highlights further how Trina has begun to take the offensive side.
In 'A Day in Falsettoland', Marvin has to gently beg, "Please?" three times to ask Trina to consider Cordelia to cater for the bar mitzvah. Compared to Trina's initiative to pick Jason up every week, it seems as though Marvin has truly taken a more passive side to his role in the family. (As in, he's stopped expecting himself to be the omnipresent, omnipotent male head of the family, who has control over everything.)
However, in 'Falsettoland/About Time', Marvin emphasises how short his custody over Jason per week is: "But I still have my son on the weekends, just on the weekends."—in short, 'at least I still get to see my son, although just for two out of seven days'. While Trina has supposedly finally got her life together, Marvin is clawing on to whatever little he has remaining from the consequences of Act 1. The two years that have passed since 'Father To Son' has changed him drastically, and yet Trina is still hung over about Whizzer, about Marvin attempting to be a little more present in Jason's life.
---
Obviously taken a very different approach in regards to how you analyse Trina and Marvin together as characters, but I find it incredibly fascinating how complex they are and how much they change throughout both acts of the musical, so much so that their flaws are never 100% fixed even after the fiasco that was March of the Falsettos (Act 1 I mean. Not the song lmao.) Especially with Trina, whose complexity I often overlook because it seems in Act 1 that all the men are downright ridiculous and Trina's the only one who can see it. Just refreshing to see how the perspectives of one character can drastically influence our own—whether for good or bad, that's up to interpretation.
#I LOVE TRINA BY THE WAY#and just in case#I am definitely not saying that act 2 Trina's suddenly gone like evil and now Marvin's an innocent little man who now does no wrong#but that little tidbit from Jason is pack with so many layers of nuance I just needed to flesh that all out#please add your thoughts btw!#I tried to leave the analysis as open as possible to explore every option#maybe should have put that at the start but eh#and please lmk if I'm overlooking anything massively important#falsettos#darcy daydreams#music#analysis#my music analysis#idk. As someone whose mother verbally and often blames everything in her household on everyone but her#I don't stomach these kinds of characters very well#but again Trina has her reasons and that's valid but idk man#just in those few songs I was like “uh. Something feels not right.”#a little overbearing maybe

ATLA Tiny Person AU
Lore:
A rare birth disorder that causes server dwarfism.
Dense bones.
Grows only to 5 to 6 inches.
Cannot live completely independent because of their size and lack of accommodations. Specialized doll houses are often made/ordered by caretakers that have electricity and running water.
Parvum-humanus, Latin for small humanoid is the official term.
It has been around for centuries but just now being studied like other neurodiversity spectrums.
In ancient days, it was rarer or less reported. People were abandoned at birth, believing to be changelings, or sold to the circus. There’s a good chance there’s a subgroup of survivors living out in the wild with their own communities hidden from human society.
In present days, they become brief celebrities, some more famous than others depending on marketing skills, and can make a living through online work or staring in movies (like playing fairies or scifi stuff.) Some become advocates for Parvum-humanus rights.
Fire Family:
Version 1
Zuko and Azula were twins. They were the first identical twins recorded to have Parvum-humanus. Ursa was not aware she was pregnant with twins because it was so faint on the ultra-sound. She and the doctors believed she was giving birth to a pre-mature stillborn despite carrying to full term. Imagine their surprise when not one but two tiny babies the size of fingertips came out.
Ozai was not pleased.
He did not want the attention of being father of two medical “anomalies”. This lead to many behind the scene fights with Ursa but due to public pressure, they don’t divorce.
Zuko and Azula have each other to rely on. They share a special bond both from being twins and tiny people.
Financially, life is good because of their fame and family’s business. But Ozai and Azulon completely ignores them out of shame. They still have Ursa of course, who is very overprotective, and Iroh and Lu Ten. Eventually Mai and Ty Lee who they befriend at school.
Version 2
Zuko is the only one with Parvum-humanus. The fame is short lived, since he is not a twin in this version.
Ozai was not physically abusive but was neglectful and emotionally abusive. He forbidden Zuko from leaving the dollhouse and showered all his attention on Azula. Zuko had overheard him many times saying he doesn’t have a son.
Azula used to play with him thanks to Ursa’s encouragement. She was a little rough, but thankfully Zuko’s much stronger than he looks and the kids still have fun together.
Ursa and Ozai do end up divorcing with Ozai’s neglect and ablism towards his son being the final straw. Zuko and Azula were 8 and 6 by the time of the divorce. They get joint custody over Azula but the courts barely acknowledged Zuko because raising a child with Parvum-humanus is not that “costly”.
Zuko blamed himself for the divorce, despite Ursa’s efforts to comfort him. Ursa was even more overprotective and Iroh had to ease her back often. He conviced Ursa to let Zuko attend public school so he could be around other kids again.
It’s tough at first. He’s not outright bullied; it’s more of the passive-aggressive talk behind your back type. But eventually he befriends the gaang and all is well.
Version 3
No spirit shenanigans this time. Zuko was born with a rare condition where the fetus develops but doesn't grow much in size. Most of the royal family did not know Zuko existed, believing he died at birth. Ozai was highly displeased and had nothing to do with him.
Azula and Zuko were close when they were younger and often played together. Zuko's pretty tough despite his size and could handle Azula's games which Ursa made sure didn't get out of hand. Azula eventually pulled away due to Ozai's insistence that she was too old to play with toys.
Thankfully, Ursa always stuck by Zuko's side. After she's banished for poisoning Azulon who ordered Azula's death, she took Zuko with her. But unfortunately, they were not out of danger yet. Ozai sent assassins after them to tie up the loose strings. Ursa and Zuko are separated and Zuko is forced to fend for himself while vowing to avenge his mother.

The third death is that moment, when your name is spoken for the last time.
i felt like drawing a older worldbuilding concept i made a few months back with my friends. This world has been torn apart by war and strife and demons are rapidly born by the minute through the strong emotions of living creatures.
Humanity has given up on the older gods, and through their desperation, birthed a new "god".
Demons(general): Born of strong emotions, feelings or memories. Will have a core of some sort which when destroyed, kills the demon.
The "god": Born out of humanity's need and want for a saviour, Is able to destroy existences. There is a very messy line between what the "god" considers a crime, and anything it considers a crime is unforgiveable. The offender will be reduced to a Intruder, nothing more than a shadow.
The "god" is also very hellbent on destroying/absorbing demons and the current world outside the hotel is being purged as it deems fit.
The liminal hotel: a entity that offers shelter to demons it deems worthy/contracts for upkeep. Demons fight for a spot in the hotel as the outside world is dangerous for them.
Hotel demons: are assigned to different sections such as: the lounge, front desk and halls, casino, pools, etc and their job is to rid any intruder that steps foot into the hotel.
Hotel demons who are not able to carry out their duties will be kicked out and their spot given to another demon. Some hotel demons are powerful, gaining the respect of the hotel. These few demons are left untouched as they may be useful.
Intruders: Humans stripped of their colors and names. They are left with only their shadows and form which resembles their physical body but are solid black with white eyes. They are tasked by the "god" to retrieve useful demon cores.
If exposed to the sun, their existence will be destroyed permanently, if they return without a core to the "god", they will also be destroyed.
Foxbell, the hotelier(designed for star), Core: one of the flowers on her body
Foxbell is the result of a demon merging souls with a girl. The original demon's birth cause is unknown, but Foxbell's motherly personality stems from the girl being raised by a kind mother. She may still have to dispatch Intruders but she feels particularly sorry if it is a child Intruder.
She is also one of the oldest demons to stick around in the hotel for duty as she is very efficient at upkeep. Many hotel demons respect her for her prowess as well. (P.s. she is prone to sparing "hot" intruders)
art done by @lil-starshooter
Moss Father and Moss Babies(designed and created by star)
Liminal space: Hotel lobby/hallways
Moss Father is a old demon which resides upon the roof garden of the hotel. He generally wanders around occasionally, all the while dripping dirt and moss everywhere. This in turns creates these little mosslings whom are very harmless and more likely to try to play with the Intruders. But ever since Foxbell lost her shit at Moss Father for dragging dirt everywhere, he has remained spooked and begrudgingly tries not to mess up any clean floors.
Foxbell has also taken custody of all the mosslings(they have dessert names)
Droupe, the lounge overseer
Droupe is a demon who was born through a butterfly's strong desire to be let free of a closed off room, they have a calm demeanour and is passive to the other hotel demons. Their stained glass wings cast colorful shadows as they soar above their section.
Liminal Space: A hotel lounge that appears to be exposed and falling apart, frozen in a starry night sky. Gumball and vending machines litter the space and even potted plants are perfectly still in time.
Droupe's powers are time based and their core is that of a stopwatch.
The above characters are the most outlined with refs, there are more characters but they will need a proper follow up post with more ironed up info. But here are some more art from me, star and @denziru of hotel demons^^
characters to be expanded upon in a diff post: Sire and Madame, Duskdare, RatKing, Estelle
#throws up lore and concepts and runs away#art#this started from me wanting to design characters based off my friends chosen liminal spaces#i was rly into phonk while making this world lmao#metamorphosis by interworld watered me#mine n friends ocs#worldbuilding

Of course I have more to say about this resident 8 Au!
First I love the idea you have for the family it honestly all seems really cool. Though I do think for Julieta instead of her hand spontaneously combusting, little cuts appear and the black mold starts leaking out from it and wrapping around her hands at random making it hard to do whatever it is that you was doing and if she's making food/touches food it completely infects the food in mold. I think for Alma it was an experiment on her throat because she likes to argue so much You can see the incision marks and sometimes The incision marks will open up and leak black she can still can talk but her voice is a little bit more grainy and sometimes it's hard for her to talk so she has to drink water more and will sometimes not talk to try and save her voice.
The Dimitrescu family is painfully aware of the fact that Mirabel likes her family more than them. Which is why I feel like they had the first response that they did because in all I feel like that family is a very territorial and aggressive even when they try not to be. so when they first meet something that they view as a threat which was unfortunately the rest of mirabel's family (they are a threat to their relationship to Maribel) their instincts take over and make them act a little bit more aggressive but the more time that they spend with the family the less aggressive they are it took them a while (bela and Isabela did bond over the fact that they had similar names) but they eventually were fairly friendly with most of them (they tolerate the men.)
When it comes to Ethan maribel's entire house obviously is a safe area except for maybe one moment when Miranda shows up at random to "check in" on Mirable. I 100% believe that Maribel or maybe even some of her family members helped him in the final fight against Miranda and he lives! and Mirabel not trusting Chris or blue umbrella pulled him, Mia (I'm pretty sure she was also kidnapped again) and Rose into hiding with her and her family because I do not want them in umbrella custody or anywhere near that facility! only bad things happen I want them all to be happy in the end and away from all of that horribleness!
As for art! I would love to see the family fussing over Mirabel maybe when they had first gotten there or just in general how they act with her? and maybe a couple of Antonio following her around? And possibly the family and the Dimitrescu family interacting? Anything really you want to draw for it I would love to see it! I really enjoy your art style and know just how time consuming it can be!
RESIDENT EVIL 8 GRAHHHH 👺💪💪
No but uh. I'm glad you agree, and the Julieta one is so much better <333 ALSO THE ALMA ONE WORKS❗❗ That was actually similar to what I was thinking, so incision, maybe a failed attempt at trying to remove her vocal chords?? L Miranda but W Mirabel for letting her keep them ig 😭😭
Also Alcina and her daughters are just gonna have to tough it out cuz with the way they act??? Listen, Mirabel is optimistic, but not that optimistic 💀💀 and the fact that they were passive-agressive to her family (straight up aggressive to the men), doesn't help that 🗿 but at least they somewhatade up and even if they don't like each other, they tolerate each other for Mirabel's sake <\\3
ALAO ETHAN LETS GOOOOO I know he was scared out of his mind when Mirabel shoved him to a cupboard and he heard Miranda's voice the next second. He also learned that Mirabel is Mirands's favorite in that moment 🤧 maybe he uses that to an advantage?? I mean sure the Duke is there, but Mirabel or her family might be able to get rarer items, for cheaper too 💀 plus they might be more helpful in finding Rose. You know how frustrating it was to hear "Look a little closer 🤓☝"
HE LIVES AND GETS TO RAISE ROSE LETS GOOOO 🦅🦅🦅 ALSO I AGREE WITH NO UMBRELLA BUT...I thought the B.S.A.A was good??? But maybe I'm trippin', I mean it is RE, and Mia is sorta the problem to all this. Like if she just told Ethan the truth a lot of things could've been avoided 🥸 anyway, I think Ethan staying with the Madrigals (maybe permanently or just near wherever they were relocated in Colombia) is a cool idea, they can help him with Rose <333
AND ART YEAHHHGG OF COURSE I CAN I LOVE THIS AU <33 I really appreciate the ideas and??? I'm glad you love it 🤭🤭 I originally was working on it but got busy hence why it took me. A week to past this rather than a few days BUT HOPEFULLY IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN 🤓☝
Anyway art <333 Antonio's clothes (that Miravel made obvi) are based off of a lady bug so. Ladybug and Mantis. Lil bro is still happy to be around Mirabel even AFTER the experiment, its wild 🏃♀️ she tries to distance herself after the experiments on the family, thinking they'd hate her and never forgive her, but Antonio just refuses to leave her and she slowly gets closer again.
I LOVE THIS AU 👹👹

Finding Each Other-Chapter 6
Fandom: Superman, Batman, Shazam, and Wonder Woman
Characters: Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Dick Grayson, Diana Prince, Billy Batson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Kara Zor El, Damian Wayne, Cassandra Cain, Alfred Pennyworth, Lex Luthor, Jonathan Kent, Connor Kent
Summary: Clark Kent always knew he wanted a family. He just always thought it would be traditional like his parents. Little did he know that destiny had something different in store for him.
Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5
Whenever Clark needed to clear his head, he did one of two things. He either flew or find a crime to stop. Both allowed him to clear his mind and focus on the task at hand instead of what was consuming him at the moment: Bruce. He was able to bury his thoughts on telling Bruce about the baby (since he doesn’t know if there is a baby or not yet). However, he had begun to worry about his upcoming date with Bruce. He didn’t know what Bruce’s income was, but he knew that he had to be making millions to afford the mansion he lived in.
How can you impress a man who seems to have everything?
As Clark flew around Metropolis in his Superman costume, he came across a foe to keep his mind from spiraling: Livewire. She had an edge over most of his other rogues. She was made of pure electricity which made fighting her in hand-to-hand combat very difficult. After fighting with her for about an hour, he was finally able to subdue her by opening up a fire hydrant and spraying water at her. As he tied her up and was about to fly away with her, he looked around and felt the color from his face drain.
Dammit, I didn’t realize that in pursuing her that we entered Gotham. Bats is touchy about metas being here without his permission.
Clark sighed. He didn’t want a confrontation with the man. He suddenly heard police sirens coming his way. He decided to leave Livewire tied up by a pole for the Gotham police to take care of her and then flew up out of sight to the roof of the nearest building so he could watch to make sure the police were able to transfer her safely.
After he landed on the roof and situated himself, he heard someone say excitedly, “Hey Superman!”
He quickly looked behind him and up to see that Robin was waving at him from a platform on the roof. Clark kept a passive face, but internally, he was trying to control his breathing.
Kid nearly scared the crap out of me. I didn’t sense him at all.
Robin smiled and did a double backflip from the platform.
Clark smiled.
The kid is definitely impressive and has tons of skills.
Robin beamed at Clark and exclaimed, “It is awesome to see you hear. Are you here to work a case?” Robin started bouncing up and down and asked excitedly, “If so, can we work with you?”
Clark chuckled at Robin’s enthusiasm and said, “Maybe some other time. I just caught Livewire.” Clark looked down to the street where he had left Livewire and saw that the police were putting her in custody. Clark breathed a sigh of relief and said, “It looks like the police are transferring her now so I will be going soon.”
Robin pouted and said, “No fair. I always wanted to work together.”
Clark chuckled as he ruffled Robin’s hair which caused him to laugh.
“Maybe another time sport. Besides, I am still not too sure how keen your boss is about working together.”
Suddenly, a lower gravel voice said, “You could also ask instead of staying in suspense.”
Clark nearly had to hold back a yelp. He gradually turned around to see Batman staring at him.
What is it with these two and stealth? They can give a person a heart attack on how silently they move.
Clark forced a smile on his face even though he was internally worried that two people had gotten past his spatial awareness.
“I hope that I am not stepping on any toes. I know your no metas rule, but the battle against one of my rogues led me here. Now that the police have them, I was just about to leave.”
Batman nearly smirked but quickly changed his face back to passive. Clark frowned at the quick subtlety.
Does he find me being here funny?”
Batman stared at Clark for a moment and then asked, “Do you know why I have the no meta rule?”
Clark looked at him hesitantly for a moment and said, “No.”
Batman moved a little closer to Clark and said, “I love Gotham with every fiber of my being, but it is one of the most corrupt places in the United States. Do you know how corruption instilled itself here?”
Clark shook his head.
Batman took another step forward and said, “Power. People use power to not only abuse others but force them to bend to their will. It is bad enough when ordinary people do this, but if metas got involved and used their powers in the situation…it can lead to chaos.”
Superman frowned and said, “I get what you mean. However, not all metas are like that. Some like me just want to help people and make a difference in society.”
Batman stared at him for a moment and said, “I know that there are good metas out there, but sometimes power has a way of sinking its teeth in even the most noble of people and bringing out their inner monster.”
Clark raised an eyebrow and asked, “Isn’t that being a little cynical?”
Batman took another step forward to where they were within inches of each other. As much as Clark wanted to flinch, he kept his ground.
Batman stared at Clark a moment before sighing and said, “The former district attorney, Harvey Dent, used to be the White Knight Gotham not only needed but craved. He was hard on organized crime, and had started to make a dent in the city, but then….” Batman’s face grew solemn for a couple of seconds. He shook his head and schooled his face back to passive and said, “Then he changed to a person that I don’t recognize anymore. It is disheartening, to say the least.”
Clark stared at him baffled. He had never seen Batman display any emotion beyond anger and discontentment. He also focused on the words, “…changed to a person that I don’t recognize anymore.”
I wonder if he knew Harvey Dent personally. If he did, that had to be traumatizing to see someone you care for become something so unrecognizable.

Weirdly enough I think I disagree with Charlie and the hotel crew's choice to return Vox to Velvette and Valentino. Morally it's the right thing to keep Vox away from his abuser and return him to his friends. But I just don't think him going back to the tower is going to help with his recovery since he'll just be placed back into isolation. Especially if Alastor is chased out of the hotel, then there's really no reason why Vox shouldn't stay at the hotel full time and visit the Vees when he wishes to. He shouldn't have to lose either friend group but it just seems like Charlie is too guilty to keep Vox in her custody and Velvette and Valentino are too selfish to not have Vox solely in their custody.
@voxaholic likes to say that this is a story with no unambiguously good options, and yeah, that’s kinda true. Thankfully, this particular situation ends up working out, though.
After the battle with Heaven, the fact that Vox is alive leaks to the press, which leads to Charlie and Vaggie learning the truth and prompts the start of the third act. After Alastor is either killed or disappears again and the Vees get Vox back, they no longer see a point in keeping Vox in isolation; all of Hell already knows he’s alive, plus he’s no longer a danger to himself and others, so why bother? And, thankfully, after [whatever happens with Alastor], the mental block Vox has on retaining any information about Val and Vel lifts. He goes home to an environment where he actually has some freedom of mobility (he can’t leave the tower unaccompanied, but that was also the case at the hotel, and he’s no longer confined to the same handful of rooms) and can build new relationships with the other Vees.
Things actually go pretty well for a few years— Charlie’s even able to negotiate for her, Niffty, and possibly Vaggie to visit every once in a while. Things only go off the rails when Valentino dies in a fight with Angel, Husk, and Cherri. His death causes Vox to backslide and Velvette to shut down all contact with the hotel. The only reason Velvette doesn’t start trying to blow the hotel off the map is because of how it helped Vox. She never puts Vox back in isolation, but his regression is dramatic. She tries her best to help him recover, but as the years go on, he gradually shuts down, losing more and more of himself to the white noise in his mind until he becomes completely passive and non-verbal. Velvette knows that there’s a chance that taking him back to the hotel might help (he’s not aware that some of the residents were responsible for Val’s death), but her anger wins out, and she keeps Vox solely in her care until everything comes crashing down and they’re forced to flee there.
In the end, it probably would’ve been better if Vox had stayed at the hotel, but it’s one of those situations where you can’t really blame everyone for acting the way they do.
