Exchange Rules

For written works, the word minimum is 2000 words. There are no hard minimums for fanart or fanvids, but your work should be complete and represent a good-faith effort.

All gifts must be new work created for the exchange. Cross posting to platforms other than AO3 is fine after works have been revealed.

All works must be posted by the deadline unless you have received an extension.

Respect the request, including ships, notps, triggers/squicks, etc.

Hello and welcome, I am excited to announce the first ever skk mixtape fic exchange, currently planned for 2025!

I am just getting started on fully planning this event out, however I wanted to start setting up a place to share information, run polls, and answer questions related to the exchange. A mixtape exchange is a fandom gift exchange where, instead of giving prompts, you choose a song to be used as the prompt. The person creating your gift will then pull their inspiration from the song you shared, using lyrics, rhythm, and/or tone of the song.

What is the theme of this exchange?

This particular exchange will focus on Soukoku, or the relationship between Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya from Bungou Stray Dogs.

What kind of works will be expected for this exchange?

For the first exchange, we will be open for fanfiction only. This is subject to change in the future.

You know that onshot that you're pretty sure you're 5% of the total hits for, you've read it so many times? Have you ever considered the prospect of art based on it?

You know that art piece that you used as your computer desktop so long you gave up and printed it to put on your wall, so that it could always be with you? Have you considered a web weave based on its themes and ideas? Are you considering it now?

The MCYTBLR Recursive Exchange just went live, and we are entirely set up to make those art pieces, web weaves, or fics a reality. I can't believe we're in November already! Thanksgiving is around the corner and Christmas is coming up next month! Made me really get into a festive mood.

In the spirit of sharing and giving, I'd like to introduce an online Secret Santa of sorts.

Please read the how to enter section before requesting.

Fic list

Info:

The event works the way a typical Secret Santa would. Each person participating will be writing one fic, but it will be for another person. I'm thinking 500 words minimum, no upper cap.

There will be a list that keeps track of who is joining. Each person that asks to join will give a brief description about the fic they want written (more info below)

People entering must be willing to write. You can't ask for a fic if you don't want to write one in return.

All genres are welcome, does not have to include smut if you don't want to.

Fandoms - Jujutsu Kaisen and Love and Deepspace

How to enter/Deadlines:

Inbox or DM me saying you want to participate with a brief description of the story you'd like written. For example, a message to me would look like "Hey Ray, I want to take part in the Secret Santa. My fandom is JJK and I'd like it to feature Nanami. Maybe some cute fluffy romance between him and reader." OR "Hi Ray, I want to join Secret Santa. I'd like Xavier from LADS, with some angst or a slow burn. Smut is ok but no rough sex."

Once you inbox or DM I'll update a list with your story description.

The last date to ask to join is November 25th. This is because I need a final head count for participants to match up a secret Santa to everyone.

Once this deadline is reached, I'll run all the participants through a random generator which will match up who gets who. I'll obviously be matching up participants based on the fandoms asked.

I will reach out to each of you separately to tell you who you're writing for. Check the list for the story description.

Obviously, do not tell the person that you're writing for them until you're ready to post.

When posting your fic, use the hashtag "ncs secret santa" and "merry ficmas" and tag me as well as the person you wrote the fic for.

The deadline for the fic to be published is December 25th (gasp! Christmas? Who would have guessed?)

Myself and @animationnut would like to open up the invitation to all of you writers, artists, gif makers, and any other creatives to participate in a PnF "Secret Santa"

Attached to this you'll find a Survey Monkey survey, for your Tumblr username, what art you make, what art you want to receive, and what art you are absolutely not comfortable making/receiving.

Timeline:

We will be opening up forms TODAY (November 2nd) and closing them the day before US Thanksgiving (November 27th). We will generate the Secret Santas and have them sent out that weekend. Gifts will go out on December 20th to your randomly selected person!

Submission Rules:

Keep requests for your art short and sweet. No full length prompts, just a quick sentence or idea (i.e., "The gang building a snowman" or "Holiday Lights"). If you send a full length prompt, we will shorten it for you to the overall idea.

Absolutely NO NSFW or adult themes will be accepted (this includes sex, blood, death, gore, or incest themes). Romantic theme requests are allowed but this is, first and foremost, a kids show, so keep it PG.

No OCs - keep it focused to the show characters only

Phineas and Ferb requests only - we love the other Dwampyverse shows dearly, but we can't guarantee everyone has seen all of them and would know how to write for/draw other characters in the universe.

Please please PLEASE indicate things you do not want to create art for - we will be accepting requests from all parts of the fandom, no judgement, so if you have ships you are not comfortable writing for, please specify that. This is a large fandom with varying opinions and beliefs, we want to incorporate everyone but make sure everyone has fun in their own regard

Fic lengths can be as long or as short as you want to make them, and art can range from sketches to full blown shaded pieces. Whatever you feel comfortable with doing for the prompt you receive!

If you have an issue with the prompt you receive, please let us know! We can either tweak the prompt given, or reach out to your person and ask them if they have a secondary prompt they'd want (issues can be "I'm not confident writing for this character" or "I literally can't draw Doof to save my life pls help." Any moral issues need to be addressed in your "will not create art for" section in the survey.)

If for any reason you have to drop out of the event, please let us know ASAP!! And if you'd be willing to make two pieces of art in the case of someone dropping out, feel free to message one or both of us!

All that out of the way, this event is for fun!!! This is to encourage people to write, draw, and edit, to showcase the talents within the fandom. Everyone of all skill sets and levels is encouraged to sign up!

If we don't get a ton of sign ups, we'll still happily host the event, it'll just be a smaller caliber. We are looking to keep it focused to Tumblr only, just for ease of access, communication, and sharing, but if you have an AO3 account or other site where you post art, feel free to mention it in the survey in addition to your Tumblr account.

The Lord of the Rings Secret Santa 2024 prompt meme signups are OPEN!

So, it's that time of the year again: time to sign up for the Lord of the Rings Secret Santa exchange! Slash, femslash, het and gen; you can request it all, so why not join in?

Lord of the Rings Secret Santa has been going for twenty-one years, and we'd love to see you join us and keep the tradition going.

LotR SeSa has been a traditional exchange since its inception, but we continue to adapt and refine the exchange to best serve all participants. The exchange has been in the form of a prompt meme since 2020. If you are new to the format, AO3 has a helpful FAQ here.

This year's timeline (2024):

Prompt Posting: November 1st to 25th.

Claiming: November 26th to December 27th.

Collection Open for Posting: November 26th to December 27th.

All Fills Due: December 27th

You will be able to post up to 2 prompts, and we will do our best to make sure that at least one of your prompts is filled.

Please note that this is an FPFchallenge. (i.e. Fictional, not real people fiction/RPF.) We're always open to all the Peoples and Ages of Middle-earth, which means that characters from The Hobbit and The Rings of Power are welcome too!

The Rules (2024):

You will be able to post up to 2 prompts between November 1st and 25th, and we will do our best to make sure at least one of your prompts is filled.

Your fill is due December 27th 11:59 pm Pacific Time (you can check what that is in your time zone here). Please post it to AO3 (and nowhere else, until January 3rd).

As a matter of fairness, please make your story more than 750 words (1000 is better).

It's Time!

Hello again, witches and demons! It is once again time to celebrate the holidays, Owl House style!

Same deal as last year - From today until November 30th, signups will be open. You will be asked to provide a Tumblr URL, your pen name on fanfiction sites you use, and at least two prompt ideas for whoever draws your name to choose from. You can also offer a third prompt idea to give your fic exchange writer an extra idea to consider. If more than one idea appeals to you, you may combine them.

The prompts can be vague (fluff with Luz and Amity), or a bit more specific (Luz meets Raine on her first day in the Boiling Isles instead of Eda). Please keep your prompts rated T at maximum; prompts rated M or E are prohibited.

There will also be a section asking what you are okay with writing (certain characters, relationships, and/or genres), and what you are not okay with writing (certain characters, relationships, and/or triggers).

Signups will close immediately after the 30th, at which point I will send out fic assignments. You will then have until December 31st to write a fic with one of the two or three prompts given to you and post it. Please give me a notice if you will be late due to emergency circumstances like a family emergency or other crisis, then you will have until January 10th to post.

In terms of length, I ask that your fic have a minimum of 1,000 words.
