Now it’s up to you… time to get those ideas floating and start writing. If the prompts you received don’t immediately induce a spark of inspiration, don’t panic! You still have almost 2 months before posting begins. We recommend that you just sit with your prompts for at least 2 weeks before moving on to next steps.

A small note, please make sure that your blog settings allow for you to receive messages from the Secret Santa account, and that you have your ask box set up and allowing anonymous asks so that your Secret Santa can contact you if needed! This allows for the event to run much more smoothly and makes things a lot less work on our end.

Hi! Excited to participate! I see you say we need both A03 and Tumblr. Clearly, I have a tumblr - but I try not to let my fics be known on there bc I have friends on here who don’t know I write. Do I need to post it? If so then is it ok if I make a new acct with my A03 name? Ty!

Hi there!

While you don't have to post your fic on tumblr, we do reblog everything as it's posted (and we will be making a master post to share all of the fics at the end). So if you'd like to remain anonymous, it would be best to set up a new tumblr to use for this event.

Aside from sharing the fics as outlined above, your tumblr is the only way your Secret Santa can attempt to contact you with any questions they may have.

The most important thing with the tumblr account is that you check the event page and your messages, as this is how we communicate details about the event, assign your prompts, etc. (this is a good reminder to everyone who registers!)

It’s that time of year again!

The 2024 Chenford Secret Santa sign up form will go live Friday October 18th, and remain open until Friday October 25th! Follow this page to make sure you stay in the loop and don’t miss any announcements!

A reminder of how this event works— by signing up, you are committing to write a minimum 1500 word fic for your randomly chosen recipient to be posted to the Secret Santa collection between December 24th-January 1st. In return, you will receive a surprise fic chosen from the 3 prompts that you submit! Participants are required to have both an AO3 and a tumblr account, though you’re welcome to spread the word on other platforms. More details will be available on the sign up form.

With only around a week to go before things officially kick off, start brainstorming those prompts!
