You see this ALOT in christian faiths. I for one witnessed an entire congregation of Jehovah's witnesses completely and intentionally misinterpret the eye of a needle story. I was horrified and confused. They claimed that the story was in reference to 'through god all things are possible' but the actual line essentially says this ' It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a pin then for a rich man to walk through the gaits of heaven' pretty clear cut definition. Rich people hurt other, usually poor, people to get that rich. Which is the opposite of Jesus whole deal. They don't feel bad so they can't repent so they are doomed to Hell. And even if they are a trust fund baby or inherited it all they don't do 'good works' with it. Even when these people do it's just like Thani from The Good Place they don't actually WANT to help people. They want a tax write off or attention or to cover something up.

Long story short The vast majority, if not all, rich people have earned their faiths equivalent of damnation. Either through their own actions or through their inaction.

Parents think it's a sin for their children to disobey them. Parents think it's okay to assault their children in order to instill the fear of God in them.

We all had our moments when we would mistreat each other... Why would we do that? Out of anger? Frustration? Surprise? Some offence we held onto for too long? Well, is any of the above really a good excuse for our mistreating of someone? Shouldn't we be to others what we want others to be toward us? Wouldn't that be better, than becoming like them? Sure, it would feel good, but the outcome would not. We would end up as they would, and that is not pretty. Wouldn't it be better if we walked with God in His love for us? That would definitely be much better than to walk in vengeance and hatred. The two greatest commandments of the Law of God are to love God with our all and to love our neighbour as ourselves. We surely wouldn't want to be our own bullies, so why would we be any harm to others? Let us therefore be the example of God He called us to be, and to walk in the love He has shown us. This is how we would be the proper light of the world, and encourage more to join.
