Something interesting I've noticed about conversion stories is many people seem to have both a rebellious streak and a deep-seated, insatiable desire to learn everything.

One of my shul's well-respected members (who runs the hebrew/judaism class that will start soon) talked about how, when he lived in my town, he would sneak out of the house just to go to shul. That's what I'm doing now, and it's funny (I'm not sneaking out per se, but I am also not telling anybody I'm going to shul). There's an aspect of free-spiritedness that I notice in many converts, and it's fascinating to hear each of their stories. And you know the funniest part? They sound like my story.

not to talk about bleak shit on main but truly, i wish neil gaiman had just kept his mouth shut at this point. his tumblr went dead fucking silent as soon as the first allegations dropped, and that spoke volumes to me - this was a man who regularly answered asks and engaged with the platform and to this day the last post there was six months ago. he knew he was fucked. but to then go on his web blog, a site where (let's be honest) only his most loyal fans are likely to be tracking activity, and give several paragraphs of wishy-washy handwaving about "misinformation" and claims snowballing into untruths and whatever else. like. neil. stop. my respect for you is already dead in the ground, stop pissing on its grave.

calling warriors/cat/xenofiction roleplayers!!!

SO. Here’s the deal. I had an idea that I was originally gonna just run as a clangen but that isn’t curing my craving for a new cat story SO I was wondering if anyone would like to join it as an rp;

the concept being that all humans have suddenly vanished and a group of cats owned by humans (some indoor/outdoor, some fully indoor previously, some strays, etc) have to come together and form a colony to survive this new world without a food bowl being filled every night, and also deal with the grief of all humans disappearing

why I’m not sure of yet, it could be plague or world war or even something as heightened as all humans suddenly got alien abducted, all that matters to me abt the concept is that the cats have no idea why all the humans disappeared, just that they’re gone and don’t seem to be coming back

and even though the idea was of course formulated in my brain as warriors first I’m thinking of divorcing it from warriors and making my own system? I even have my own idea for like a two name system that is different from the one in warriors, I. Basically just have a lot of concepts and thoughts about this thing and I also really miss formulating stories with other people and writing about cat drama SO!!!

I'm 3 days late to this but I just saw that anon about being anti makeup and i want to thank you for articulating so concisely and patiently why certain women are against makeup. mostly because if i were in your place i absolutely wouldn't have the patience to deal with it lmao. mostly because I've been trying to articulate this stance to my friends irl and the most common reaction to this ime, in real life as well as online from women who disagree, is "but I like it 🥺 what about me? 🥺does that mean I'm a bad person? 🥺 but it's fun and cute and girly 🥺" and they just refuse to engage with any of those ideas because for them it's just harmless fun.

and after running up against this response enough times you just start to get sick of it. a lot of this (most of this) is my own personal exasperation talking but it's frustrating to try to make structural critiques and people are so individualistic they can't think past their own preferences.

I think some women, on some level at least, probably are aware of these things, or they have an inkling of them--if not consciously then subconsciously--but it isn't something they are willing or ready to confront, which explains why some can get incredibly defensive about it. We have this whole thing where your individual choices have become linked to, or representative of, your identity and so any comment against those choices is taken as a personal attack because in a sense, for someone living within that framework, it is. I completely understand your exasperation because I've felt it, too. But I think I'm at a point where, for me personally, I'm not trying to argue with people or convince them because trying to make people see or hear what they aren't willing to will only make them double down harder.

I agree with you and I wish there was a way to actually have these conversations in an open manner without getting stonewalled, but the best thing I can do right now is stay true to my own stance and embody that through example and hopefully I can be open enough through this that it allows others to see they can do the same--or that, at the very least, they have the option to.

on a real note though i need u all to know i 100% trust charles and his decisions; and when they told him about signing another world champion as his teammate and he didnt back down then thats how i know i will put my whole faith in him. need people to realize it was never about winning with a minute ahead of any other driver or about getting handed the wdc, one thing about charles is HE LOVES COMPETITION he loves a challenge and most importantly he loves ferrari, and he's doing all of it and nothing will stop him as long as hes treated fairly and his opinions are being heard which i believe are the reason he signed his multiyear contract
