Part 2
   ༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Elena was born and raised in Boston, in a two-story house, next door to one of the most beautiful houses in the city, but not because of its external beauty, but because of who lived inside.
Elena grew up being the next-door neighbor of the Sturniolo triplets, she also studied at the same school as the three of them, these two factors made her and the trio become almost a fantastic quartet.
The four of them grew up together, ran down the street every day together, got dirty with dirt and mud on rainy days together, played cooking together (they were forced by her) and, best of all, they made mini "vlogs" together throughout their childhood and pre-adolescence, becoming literally inseparable.
Nick was Elena's confidant, always there to listen to her and give faithful advice to the girl, giving her a shoulder to cry on and a company to laugh when needed. Nick trusted Elena with his eyes closed and loved her with all his heart, so much so that she was the first one he came out to.
Chris was her partner in crime, the two grew up playing pranks on their parents, brothers (on his side) and neighbors. Chris saw Elena as his anchor, losing count of how many times he entered the girl's room through the window in the early hours of the morning to vent or just to be able to sleep with her company, dispelling his biggest fears.
Matt was a different case. Matt was the boy who took her as his date to every school dance and accompanied her to every friend's party. Matt was the boy who bought Elena flowers every week and took her to the city's summer amusement parks, always making sure to get her a different teddy bear. Matt was the boy who made her heart flutter, but also stay in a sacred calm; that made her body freeze, but also warm with affection. He was the one who introduced the feeling of love to her...
But who said he did anything about it? Despite acting almost like her boyfriend, Matt was afraid of rejection, after all, his heart belonged 100% to Elena and he couldn't bear having it completely stolen from him if she denied it. And that's why, out of a silly but genuine fear, he lost her.
At the age of 17, Elena moved to New York with her parents after her mother received a job offer that she couldn't refuse and that would open doors for her career. Seeing her leave was one of the hardest things Matt has been through, but the most painful was seeing her post on Instagram, 6 months after she left. Elena was dating, and it wasn't him.
Over time, things changed, the triplets moved to Los Angeles and grew dramatically on social media, becoming extremely well-known and loved on the Internet.
And Elena... well, Elena finished school and started International Relations at NYU, working at a coffee shop near her house so she could save money, since she was engaged. That's right, her boyfriend, Jeremy, of almost 2 years had asked her to marry him. It was a big shock and Elena had to think a lot before accepting, but it was her dream, to have a successful career and raise a family. Right?
Elena and Jeremy were in the middle of a month of decisions for the wedding, decoration, food, cake, clothes, etc., so Elena was feeling overwhelmed, it was a lot on her mind, and she found herself wondering if that was really what she wanted. Therefore, the girl (now woman) decided to pay a visit to her grandparents, who still lived in Boston. Cooling down in a place more than familiar to her seemed ideal now.
Elena just didn't expect that her grandmother would tell Mary Lou, and that Mary would tell Nick, who would tell his brothers, generating a secret collective trip to Boston. The triplets were dying to see Elena, after all, it had been 2 years since they had seen her best friend, or, in Matt's case, crush.
It was a Saturday morning when Elena landed in Boston, quickly grabbing her small suitcase and hailing a taxi at the airport's main pedestrian entry and exit gate, giving as her destination address her grandparents' house, which coincidentally, was on the same street where she grew up.
Elena planned to stay in Boston only until the next day, Sunday, since Monday she had classes again and she was going back to work, besides she knew that if she stayed much longer away from home, from Jeremy, he would lose his mind.
It didn't take long for Elena to arrive at her destination. The girl got out of the car after paying the taxi driver and took her suitcase from the trunk, thanking him once again before she knocked on the front door, waiting.
It was a big surprise for her when her grandfather opened the door and behind him were her best friends, Nick was holding a sign that said "WELCOME BACK, ELENA! WE MISSED YOU ♡", while Chris was holding three packets of her favorite candy in his hands and Matt held a bouquet of flowers that almost hid his red face, Elena wondered if it was from embarrassment or the heat from the summer.
The girl dropped the suitcase, bringing her right hand to her mouth, covering half of her surprised expression. She felt her eyes fill with tears, God, how she missed the three boys.
Next to her were her grandparents, with big smiles on their faces and bright eyes, watching her with a mix of affection and pride.
"Oh my God, you guys are crazy! What are you doing in Boston? I thought you were in LA!" Elena exclaimed, her voice cracking mid-sentence with high emotions.
"We were, but Grandma told our mom that you were coming here today and I couldn't handle missing my best friend anymore." Nick said as he placed the poster on the couch. He turned quickly and ran to the girl, hugging her tightly. The action seemed to wake Matt and Chris, who quickly moved and formed a mini line behind the oldest.
"Damn, you look old" Chris joked when his brother got out of the hug, laughing loudly when Elena hit his forehead. "Here, to sweeten your life." He scoffed, handing the candy packets to her.
"I have to check if these aren't sour candies, coming from you I expect everything." Elena joked, taking the candies and placing them on top of her suitcase. She opened her arms and hugged Chris momentarily.
Chris pulled away as they separated and positioned himself next to Nick, the two exchanging glances before turning their gaze to Matt.
"They're pink tulips, I hope they're still your favorites" Matt stepped forward, showing the full bouquet before handing it to her.
"Oh Matt, they're beautiful! Thank you" Elena received the bouquet, smelling them quickly and mentally punishing herself for blushing.
Matt smiled widely and watched her for a few seconds, only breaking out of his trance when he heard Elena's grandfather make a fake cough. The boy shook his head and walked away, lowering his gaze to the ground.
Elena quickly placed the bouquet on the coffee table and finally greeted her grandparents, placing kisses on their age-marked cheeks.
"Let's take these things to your room and make plans for the weekend!" Nick spoke loudly, throwing the candies to Chris and taking the small suitcase in his hands, before starting to climb the stairs without waiting for anyone.
Elena laughed loudly as she heard Chris swear at Nick as he bent down to pick up the packages that fell at his feet. Matt shook his head, smiling as he saw the girl take the bouquet with extreme delicacy.
The three following the oldest up the stairs.

Hours later, the quartet found themselves in the triplets parents car, parked at the Mc Donald's they grew up going to, while eating their favorite burguers and catching up on conversations. They spent the afternoon driving around the places they went when young, which made Elena's heart warm, she missed that, that feeling of calm, without any burden, without obligations or responsibilities, just the interest of being happy.
During that early morning, Elena woke up to the sound of rocks hitting her window, which she quickly recognized. What surprised her was that when she got up and approached the window it wasn't Chris there, but Matt.
"What are you doing here?" Elena asked in a whisper after opening her window, squinting her eyes as she tried to better see Matt's silhouette in the pitch black night.
"Let me in." Matt whispered back, ignoring her question as he looked down to check if he wasn't about to fall off the edge of the roof.
Elena sighed and walked to the side, giving Matt space to enter through the window, closing it shortly after to stop the night wind of entering the room.
"What are you doing here at this time?" Elena asked again, sitting on the edge of her bed and watching him.
"As if I didn't pay you visits in the early hours of the morning before." He responded smiling, sitting on the bed and dragging himself until his back was against the headboard and his legs were stretched out on the mattress. He slapped his hand on the space beside him, looking at Elena.
The girl sighed but smiled, following his silent request.
"I missed you" Matt commented. "It's strange to live life without you with us"
"I miss you too" Elena replied, looking at him. "It's strange to only keep in touch on the phone and find out about some things through social media" She continued, receiving a nod from the brunette.
"You still have them" Matt realized as he noticed all the teddy bears he got for Elena piled up on top of the dresser next to the closet.
"Of course I have them, why would I throw them away? They're cute and remind me that you're actually good at something" She scoffed, receiving a light push from the boy.
"As if you weren't rooting like crazy for me while I was trying to hit the game targets" He mocked back, seeing Elena roll her eyes with a big smile on her face.
"Obviously, getting teddy bears is better than buying them, have you seen the prices of these little things?" Elena gave a low laugh when she saw Matt open his mouth exaggeratedly, soon after the two burst into laughter together.
"So, are you really going to get married?" Matt asked suddenly after they calmed down, looking directly at her.
"Yeah, I will" She replied, lowering her gaze to her hands, specifically to the silver ring on her left ring finger.
"You don't look very excited" He commented, making the girl sigh.
"I just... I don't know, I'm so young, you know? I'm only 20, getting married seems a bit drastic right now, but Jeremy thinks it will be good for our future, us having the same last name will help in the office" She replied, furrowing his eyebrows.
"What does he do for a living again?" The brunette asked.
"He currently works at his father's office and studies law," Elena said, noticing the grimace he made at her response. "What?"
"He doesn't seem like your type. In fact, he seems like quite a daddy's boy." Matt commented, regretting it seconds later after seeing Elena's eyebrows raise in surprise.
"And what do you know about my type, Matthew?"
"I'm sorry, ignore what I said" Matt intervened quickly, the last thing he wanted was to fight with Elena now, knowing that after that Sunday, he didn't know when he would see her again. Maybe at her wedding, the boy felt himself shudder at the thought.
Elena sighed.
"You know that my dream has always been to be successful with my career and have my own family. Us getting married would give me both... Having his last name, I will be able to start my International Relations profession within the office that soon will be his, which will make me grow faster on the career, and I'll have my own family." Elena spoke while gesturing.
"Sounds like there's a lot of self-interest involved" Matt commented.
"Matthew!" The girl exclaimed, making him raise his arms in a sign of redemption.
"Sorry, sorry." He sighed. "I remember, you know."
"What?" Elena looked at him confused.
"How you always wanted a family, when we were kids me, Nick and Chris were always messing around and you were playing mommy with your barbies. You wouldn't let go of that damn Baby Alive even if you were paid to, always taking her everywhere." Matt let out a laugh as he remembered, making Elena laugh along as she saw her own smaller figure running after the triplets with her doll in hands.
"You can't say anything, you always took care of my Baby Alive when I asked you to" The girl replied with a wide smile, watching Matt roll his eyes exaggeratedly while she laughed as quietly as she could.
The brunette turned to her to rebut, but stopped in his action, reinforcing in his mind every detail of the face of the girl who had his heart in her hands, details that he had memorized a long time ago and still found himself remembering and tracing in his mind on sleepless nights.
The two stared deeply at each other for what seemed like an eternity, before Elena looked away and fake coughed.
"Just think about your decision Elena." Matt asked softly before getting up from the queen sized bed.
"Where are you going?" Elena looked at him again, her eyes pleading, as if she was afraid he would leave her there, alone and without him.
"I'm going back home, if my mother wakes up and doesn't see me in bed in the morning, I'm sure she'll freak out, and the situation won't turn out very well for us." He spoke with a sigh, going to the window and opening it, looking back one last time, before moving outside, closing it again before disappearing from the girl's vision.
Elena stood still for a few minutes, processing the conversation and that last moment, feeling her heart sink at the thought of not seeing the boy again for a long time after Sunday. It felt like a goodbye.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
On the next day, Elena woke up significantly early as she felt the sun's rays coming through her window. As she opened her eyes, ready to complain about why it was so bright in the room, she remembered Matt leaving and how she forgot to get up and close the curtains.
The girl sighed, before getting up and getting ready for the day. She felt excited to be able to see her friends again, but her heart ached at the thought that that very night she would leave again.
After getting ready, Elena took her cell phone and saw a message left by Jeremy.
"I hope you're having a good time there. I can't wait to have you here again today, I can't stop looking at the wedding catalogues. Do you prefer chocolate or vanilla cake? xx, jeremy"
Elena sighed again, it's obvious she preferred vanilla, how did he not know that? The girl shook her head, deciding to answer him another time.
     ༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
"What are we doing today?" Nick asked as they found themselves in front of the triplets' door, as they had done years before.
"I thought we'd go to the amusement park, the one that only opens in the summer, you know? Like old days." Matt suggested. Elena looked at him when she heard about the park, quickly looking away when she saw him already looking back at her. She needed to stop this.
"Let's go then!" Chris spoke loudly, running over to his parents' car again, fiddling with the passenger door handle impatiently, begging Matt to unlock it.
Elena laughed at the action, running to the car too and soon getting into the back seat, sitting behind Chris's group, having a view of the driver's seat.
A few minutes later the four arrived at the amusement park and started going on the basic rides, which the four liked, bumper cars, roller coasters and carousel.
"Can we go on the ferris wheel?" Elena asked, puting her hands in a sign of prayer and looking at the three of them with a pleading look.
"I'm not going, it's too boring. I want to go to the arcade area" Chris replied, ignoring the girl who was begging.
"I want to go to the arcade too!" Nick shouted, raising his hand like a child and approaching Chris, making Elena roll her eyes and cross her arms with a huff.
"I'll go with you." Matt said looking at Elena, who smiled big, taking his hand and dragging him through the park to the ferris wheel line, ignoring the taller man's protests.
     ༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
"Wow, I don't remember the last time I entered a cabin like that" Matt commented, closing the small door behind him and sitting on the single bench next to Elena, who smiled as she nodded and looked at the outside view through the cabin's glass window.
Matt found himself watching her, taking note of her profile, feeling himself falling in love with her all over again.
It didn't take long for the wheel to start moving, the cabin swayed a little making Elena let out a surprised sound, holding onto Matt's arm to steady herself.
"Sorry, I don't remember it moving that much" She commented, smiling awkwardly as she took her hand off the boy's arm, watching him wave his hand like it was nothing.
The two focused their eyes outside the cabin, taking note of the people who looked like little ants as the cabin rose higher, the blue sky with few clouds, the light breeze that blew and the birds that passed by in the distance. Elena looked at the cabin ahead and saw a couple cuddling each other, smiling big as they also watched the view, and she found herself trying to remember if she had ever been through that with Jeremy, but her mind came out was blank.
Her chest tightened as she realized that she had never even been to an amusement park with Jeremy, or a park, or a romantic walk. With Jeremy it was always all about work and having the perfect status.
Her gaze changed from the couple to Matt, noticing that he was also looking at the couple, but quickly his blue eyes focused on her as well.
"I love being able to look at you up close like this," Matt whispered, as if he was afraid of speaking too loudly and end what they were having.
Elena smiled, blushing, but forcing herself not to look away from him, she didn't want to miss that moment for anything. Her eyes took in all the little details of Matt's face, his sparkling blue eyes with dilated pupils, his nose perfectly shaped and the right size for his face, his cheekbones slightly reddened by the heat, his big, messy hair, his beard starting to appear again due to the time without shaving it... She felt like she could stay there forever.
Matt moved slightly closer, stopping with his mouth centimeters from hers, seeming to wait to see if she would pull away, which she didn't. Elena held herself in place, yearning to feel him.
Matt, realizing that there was no movement on her part, moved closer until their lips touched, and Elena felt that everything she read in romance books about the sensations of electricity through her body and the fireworks around her when kissing her right person was true.
Matt let out a sigh through his nose at the sensation, feeling instant relief and as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He never wanted to leave there again.
It was just a touch of lips, but it was enough for them at that moment. It was exactly what they needed.
Elena pulled away first, still with her eyes closed, trying to prolong the feeling and sensations in her body and mind. When she opened her eyes, she noticed Matt already looking at her, smiling broadly, and she returned the smile.
"I love you." Matt blurted out, making Elena's eyes widen. "Elena, I'm sorry for not having said or done anything before, but I've loved you for as long as I can remember, since the first flower I plucked from my mother's garden and gave to you, since the first time you gave me your Baby Alive for me to take care of as if it were the most precious thing in the world, since the first day you asked me to kiss your scraped knee to heal it. I've loved you for so long and I was an idiot for not saying it. And it's okay if you don't want me, you're engaged, you have a life in New York and... Asking you to leave all of this is impossible, but I needed to tell you."
Before Elena could process it, the bubble around the two seemed to burst as the ferris wheel stopped and their turn was over, the little cabin door opening again.
Matt cleared his throat, getting up and helping Elena out. When they both touched their feet on the floor, Elena felt her cell phone vibrate, picking it up only to see that Jeremy was sending her a new message about the wedding, and at that moment she fell to reality, she had cheated on her fiancé with her best friend. A bitter taste entered her mouth, her body froze and a horrible feeling took over her heart. God, what did she do?
Elena quickly pulled away from Matt, feeling her hands shake. She put her cell phone in her bag and turned to the taller man, seeing him looking at her with a worried look.
"Matt I cheated on him... I-I cheated on my fiancé with you." She stuttered. Matt looked at her with a weight on his eyes, feeling horrible for having contributed to that, blaming himself for kissing her, wanting to go back in time and not even agreeing to go on the ferris wheel with the girl.
He loved her, but she didn't love him back, not like he wanted her to.
"Elena look, it's going to be okay, you can talk to him, I swear I won't approach you again, I'm sorry-"
"I-I need to go."
"What?" Matt stopped walking completely.
"I need to go Matt." She looked into his eyes, feeling guilty as she saw immense pain in the blue pools. "Don't go after me, please. I'm sorry."
Elena turned and ran away, wiping the tears that fell from her eyes without stopping and feeling an emptiness and weight in her chest, as if part of her had stayed with Matt.
     ༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
The girl got out of the taxi in front of her grandparents house and walked to the door, taking the spare key that her grandfather had given her, trying to unlock the lock with her blurry vision.
"Elena?" The girl heard her grandmother call from the kitchen after closing the door behind her.
"Hi grandma." Elena responded, her voice cracking from the held back cry.
Her grandmother quickly appeared at the kitchen door after noticing the difference in her granddaughter's voice, approaching with quick steps when she saw the youngest's red eyes and wet cheeks.
"Oh Elena, what happened?" The older woman asked worriedly, taking Elena's shoulders and leading her to the sofa, sitting her on the soft surface and sitting next to her.
"Why does love hurt so much, grandma?" Elena asked, letting out a sob. Her grandmother sighed, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Oh Elena, love doesn't hurt dear. It took me many years to learn that, if love is right for you and your heart, and it's reciprocal, it doesn't hurt, it wasn't made to hurt. It was with your grandfather that I learned that love is free, it is generous, it is safe and it empowers you in a way that makes you feel stronger and like you can conquer the world." The oldest explained with a smile. "Do you want to talk about what happened?"
"I kissed Matt." Elena said, looking down at her hands, quickly looking away from the ring. "We went to the amusement park we went to as kids, I wanted to go on the ferris wheel and he accompanied me, we had a moment and we kissed."
"He always looked at you differently... And you at him, so much so that I swore you two would end up together. I remember all the times you came running here with a new flower in your hands and said it was from Matt, as If I didn't already know that." Elena smiled upon hearing her grandmother's words.
"But grandma, I'm engaged." She whispered regretfully.
"Do you love Jeremy?" The eldest asked, cupping her granddaughter's cheek and lifting her face so she could look her in the eyes.
"I-I... I don't know." Elena desperately tried to feel for Jeremy what she felt for Matt. "I don't feel about him what I feel when I think about Matt, or when I'm with him. Jeremy is an incredible man, with a planned and perfect life... I feel so pressured sometimes, like I have to be perfect all the time to fit in with him and his plans. It's not light, grandma."
Elena cried harder when she realized how heavy her days were with Jeremy, how she always had to have the most impeccable and perfect clothes, with the best posture, the most flawless makeup, the best-groomed hair and the best modes. How she felt about being looked at and evaluated by everyone all the time, especially at Jeremy's parenting conferences or in her father's office.
"Elena, pay close attention to me, what does your heart say if you spend more time worrying about perfection than kissing him? If you spend more time in the day thinking about a thousand things than living love lightly? Do you feel like to run away when with him? Honey, I'm sorry, but that's not love. Not the right one for you, at least."
Elena looked at her grandmother, surprised by her wisdom and how it all made sense.
Jeremy was a perfect man, but not for her. Matt was her perfect match.
God, what would she do now? She ran out of the park and left Matt all by himself after he declared his love for her. And she still had Jeremy...
"I already know what I gave to do."

A carefully constructed plan inspired by Operation Bubble which protected the late Queen from Covid-19 was thrown into action.
He would have weekly treatment in London and factor in vital periods of rest time at Sandringham, Highgrove and Windsor.
But his health plan was thrown into turmoil when Prince Harry announced he would jet from Los Angeles to see his father.
While the King delayed his helicopter flight from Buckingham Palace to Sandringham, his wayward son was given just 30 minutes of his company at Clarence House.
Plans were in place to avoid the King contacting a secondary infection and Harry flying 5,000 miles on a jet was not ideal.
Aides prevented Harry, 39, joining his father at Sandringham fearing “we’d never get rid of him” and he needed to reduce his social contact while undergoing cancer treatment.
[...]
But the King was withdrawn from all public duty for 103 days although he continued reading government red boxes.
It can now be revealed the decision to postpone his public facing role was made as a “precautionary measure” because of the King’s diminished immune response to other diseases.
The Royal Household copied Covid-style protocols — or tiers imposed by the Government during the pandemic — to minimise secondary infection such as seasonal cold or flu.
A source said: “We had to minimise potential risk from other people, not because he couldn’t do the job.”
But aswinter turned into spring and weather became warmer it meant they could relax the Covid-style tiers.
This was demonstrated when the King emerged from the Easter Sunday service and was greeted by 60 well-wishers at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Just days earlier, the monarch and his team had received news that the treatment had gone better than anyone could have expected.
One insider said: “He was raring to go after the positive results and didn’t want to hang around any longer”.
It meant the King told aides that a trip to Australia, seen as the most important tour a monarch will ever take, must go ahead in the autumn, as first revealed by The Sun.
In May, his public comeback began at London's University College Hospital MacMillan Cancer Centre where he told patients he was having treatment later that day and confessed in an off-script moment he had lost his sense of taste.
[...]
Around 27,000 messages and get well soon cards had been sent to the King and Princess of Wales, and he told then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak some of the “wonderful messages and cards” have “reduced me to tears”.
Despite the King’s positivity and drive to return to work and tour Australia, his aides and doctors remain “protective” about how many hours a day he can carry out public-facing duties.
While famous for being a “workaholic” with Harry and William once saying they would find him in his office working during the night, the King has been made to restrict public face-to-face interaction to only five hours a day.
This is expected to be the same when he goes to Australia with Camilla in October where the tour is expected to have engagements on around seven days.
Sources explain rest and recuperation are built into the King's usually hectic schedule so he is not exhausted.
[...]
In truth, if it was not the cancer then the prostate procedure would have stopped him riding at Trooping, it is said.
Amid the recovery his personal doctor Michael Dixon, previously slated and accused of backing controversial homeopathy, has been credited with aiding his recovery with a programme of complementary treatment.
The King will now spend summer months at Birkhall on the Balmoral estate and be surrounded by family, including the Princess of Wales who is continuing her own cancer journey.
He will keep a positive frame of mind tending his garden, taking long walks, painting and fishing.
And he will be ready and raring to go for Australia in October where his recovery could be even further down the line.
The trip Down Under which includes speaking at Common wealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa is expected to last less than two weeks including travel and take in Sydney and Canberra.
[...]
The King has been open about his prostate problem and cancer but it is unlikely he will now specifically name which cancer he has, so that to “reach out and embrace as many people as he can impacted by cancer. The more specific you are the fewer people you are able to engage and support.”
Of making the news public, an insider said: “I can’t tell you what a difference that has made for him, it came with his support.
“When presented with facts of how many suffered enlarged prostate, and that there was a public health campaign and therefore some good can come of his personal setback, he totally got that and has been genuinely bowled over by the scale of response to that and cancer itself.”
On social channels, Buckingham Palace has collaborated with charities MacMillan, Maggie’s and Cancer Research UK.
And when the King chose his comeback event, he attended University Hospitals cancer ward where he bonded with patients revealing he had lost his sense of taste and had treatment later that day.
But a source added: “Never say never. There are no current plans to reveal the cancer.
“But if he felt that the time was right . . . ”

occupation: fashion designer, founder of lenlei

positive traits: ambitious, resourceful, hardworking

BIOGRAPHY —
lennon was brought into a life of privilege, born to actor robert reid and celebrity makeup artist alissa taylor. her parents never married and just a year after the birth of their daughter, they separated. the majority of her childhood was spent in new york city with her mother, while the other half she spent on movie sets with her father in los angeles. her bicoastal lifestyle was something she adjusted to fairly easily but she would always consider new york her home, no matter how much she loved the serenity of the beach and being close to the water.
it was during the long hours spent with her mother at photoshoots and fashion weeks, where lennon got to observe what would become her passion in life. watching models on the runway, on and off camera, actresses on the red carpet, adorned in the most beautiful and bizarre creations, she found herself immersed in the world of fashion. as a teenager, she began to sketch, creating a portfolio of different designs that would become the first of many. she also scrapbooked as part of her research, collecting magazines and journals, textiles, fabrics. on her sixteenth birthday, lennon only asked for one present: a sewing machine.
from sophomore year until senior year of high school, lennon designed every costume for the theatre club, as well as made custom home and away uniforms for the cheer squad. every second of her time that she wasn't studying, she was sewing, crafting, creating. although she had several opportunities to meet designers, fashion icons and moguls in the industry, lennon wanted to remain anonymous. her status as the daughter of robert reid was never the factor she wanted to be the reason for her success, no matter how easy it could have been for her. after high school, she applied to the fashion institute of technology, where she was accepted and welcomed instantly. she couldn't escape nepotism entirely, no matter how much she wished she could.
in those formative years, lennon learned so much, not just about the fashion industry but about herself. she fell in love with a girl, her newfound sexuality leading to a brand new burst of creative expression. the relationship was short-lived however, her lover leaving to study abroad and choosing to stay there. it was also her first taste of heartbreak which she soon learned had the ability to fuel a whole other kind of productivity and creativity. after graduating, lennon wanted to jump into the world of work and so, she acquired the help of her mom, the owner of her own cosmetic company, to help her launch her first business venture.
lennon worked quietly behind the scenes for a year after she graduated, bringing 'lenlei' to life on the pages of a new portfolio that she kept close to her heart, building her brand from the ground up. during this time, she also got the opportunity to shadow jacqueline durran on the set of barbie. it was a dream come true. one that she admittedly had her father to thank for. lennon rarely sought his help but there was no way she could pass up on the experience of a lifetime. while working with jacqueline, lennon kept a close eye on one of her other heroes in the industry, amara washington. a woman whose work she'd followed closely since she was fifteen years old.
she respected amara not just for her work ethic but for being one of the most impactful, influential female entrepreneurs of her generation. ororo was a brand that featured in her scrapbooks as a teenager and when amara made the move to new york city, lennon didn't ever miss a runway show. the young designer's self named brand lenlei was crafted with a similar vision to those who'd come before her, with an added twist and a slight risk --- she wanted it to be a success but for it to be inclusive and accessible to all. casual wear, androgynous fashion, for women, men and nonbinary individuals. lenlei represented originality, authenticity and comfort. launched online in 2023, her range sold out and lennon earned a spot in forbes' 30 under 30.
fast forward to the present day, lennon's move to starlight oaks, (amara washington's very own hometown) was led by the success of her growing company. signing a contract with an independent clothing store, above the clouds, proved to be a new and exciting step forward. with the presence of amara in town, she's also hoping for the opportunity to learn from her in a setting that's more relaxed, away from the bustling city lights that they're used to. securing a retail space to sell her clothing line while working behind the scenes to bring her own boutique to life, lennon is hopeful that the small town will unlock bigger dreams, new hopes and fresh beginnings.
POTENTIAL CONNECTIONS —
coming soon !

Five hundred and fifty-five days.
That's how long it took — from the day I left my comfortable London life to pursue my lifelong dreams in music to the day those dreams finally came true. From January 10, 2022, to July 19, 2023, a whole five hundred and fifty-five days have passed.
555. The number that represents change and transformation. How serendipitous. A fairytale.
But the journey here had been nothing but.
If I were to count how many days it has been since I've been trying to break into the music industry, I'd have my entire life in numbers. Because my dreams didn't start here in L.A. Nor did they start sometime during my teenage years, on a whim or on a dare. I've wanted this since I can remember. But every effort I'd made in London had been an agonizing uphill battle. With my parents' name, money, status and reputation attached to mine, I'd been surrounded by people who'd congratulate my parents for my job well done. Because that's how they saw it. That 'Haven was only able to sing at any given event because of her mother and father's pull, not at all because of her talent'.
Determined to show the world that I'm more than my last name, I took it upon myself to buy a one-way flight ticket from Heathrow to LAX with the money I'd saved up on my own. It was a whole new year. What better way to take the leap? Even my parents knew better than to discourage me, not when I have both my mind and my heart set on seeing my goals come to fruition. And although they weren't keen on seeing me leave, they sent their love and their support anyway, as long as I'm happy.
That was their one condition: Do what you need to do, as long as you're happy.
From the moment I set foot in Los Angeles, I put myself to work. Not one second was going to be wasted. After managing to find a tiny apartment, I worked on my demos every minute I could. And when I wasn't, I would scour the city for every record label just so I could personally send my work to their respective A&R teams. I'd even taken up jobs from any establishment that had anything to do with music just to put my foot in the door, from waitressing at clubs to writing songs at a record company. Every second of every minute of every day was poured into making my dreams come true. But eventually, I learned that passion and determination were simply not enough.
As days passed, so did the countless no's. Rejection after heartbreaking rejection had become a regular thing. And many days, I wanted to quit and go home. Eventually, I was running on fumes and dragging along a dream I wasn't sure I even deserved anymore.
Then came Brennan. Love of my life Brennan.
Not once had I factored him in any of my life plans, or any man for that matter. But he came into my life just when I needed him most. Not for his connections, no. But his belief. In my talent, my passion, my drive. The kind of encouragement I didn't even realise I needed. But I swear, his support has countered every nay-sayer I've ever met in my life.
I managed to hold on a little longer because of his support, and of course, that of my family back home. If it weren't for any of them, I'd have long given up, defeated and lost. But I didn't. And because I didn't, I was there to take the one call I'd been waiting for my entire life, from a recording company who'd once rejected me no less. Apparently, there had been a new shift in management, and their new head of A&R had gotten their hands on a demo I sent not long after arriving in L.A., wanting to give me the chance I thought I'd never get.
555 days was how long it took. From when I closed my eyes to take the most momentous leap of my life to the day I finally signed my first ever music contract. It's been almost a week since, yet it still feels like a dream. Even more so as I stand here in the recording booth, seconds away from bringing my music to life.
But one thing's for sure — whether or not it is just a dream, I plan on riding this crazy ride with everything I've got, and never will I doubt the power of dreams.

Why Regular Residential Cleaning Services are Essential for Los Angeles Homeowners
Living in Los Angeles comes with a vibrant lifestyle, beautiful weather, and a bustling urban environment. However, maintaining a clean home in such a dynamic city can be challenging. Regular residential cleaning services are a luxury and a necessity for many Los Angeles homeowners. This article delves into the importance of maintaining a clean living space and how professional cleaning services can enhance your quality of life.
Tumblr media
Challenges of Maintaining a Clean Home in Los Angeles
Maintaining a clean home in Los Angeles presents unique challenges due to the city's bustling pace and diverse environmental factors. Dust and pollutants can accumulate quickly, exacerbated by the region's arid climate and occasional smog. High foot traffic in urban areas can track in dirt and debris, while homes near beaches contend with sand and salt residue. Additionally, busy lifestyles leave little time for thorough cleaning, making it challenging to consistently achieve and maintain a pristine living space. Despite these challenges, investing in regular professional cleaning services can alleviate the burden and ensure a healthier, more comfortable home environment for Los Angeles residents.
The Benefits of Regular Residential Cleaning
Regular cleaning goes beyond just aesthetic appeal; it contributes significantly to your home's overall health and comfort. Here are some key reasons why regular residential cleaning services are essential:
Improved Indoor Air Quality: Los Angeles, known for its urban density and occasional smog, requires homeowners to be mindful of indoor air quality. Dust, pollen, and other allergens can accumulate over time, especially in carpets, upholstery, and hard-to-reach corners. Professional cleaning services employ HEPA-filtered vacuums and eco-friendly products to effectively remove these pollutants, promoting cleaner and healthier indoor air.
Reduction of Allergens and Bacteria: For individuals sensitive to allergens or prone to respiratory issues, a clean home can significantly improve their quality of life. Regular cleaning helps eliminate allergens such as dust mites, pet dander, and bacteria and viruses that can linger on surfaces. This is particularly important in households with children or elderly family members.
Preservation of Surfaces and Materials: Over time, dirt, grime, and stains can build up on various surfaces, causing them to deteriorate faster. Professional cleaners are trained to use the right cleaning methods and products for different materials, extending the life of your furniture, flooring, and fixtures. This proactive maintenance can save homeowners money in the long run by reducing the need for costly repairs or replacements.
More Time for Leisure and Family: In a city as vibrant as Los Angeles, residents often juggle busy work schedules, social activities, and family commitments. Outsourcing regular cleaning tasks to professionals ensures a consistently clean home and frees up valuable time that can be spent on more enjoyable pursuits. A clean home provides the perfect backdrop for a balanced lifestyle, whether exploring local attractions, pursuing hobbies, or simply relaxing with loved ones.
Choosing the Right Residential Cleaning Service in Los Angeles
When selecting a residential cleaning service in Los Angeles, it's essential to consider a few key factors to ensure you receive the best possible experience:
Reputation and Experience: Look for established cleaning companies with a solid reputation in the community. Reading reviews and testimonials from other homeowners can provide insights into the quality of service you can expect. Experienced cleaners are familiar with the unique cleaning challenges of Los Angeles' climate and urban environment.
Services Offered: Evaluate the range of services offered by different cleaning companies. Some may specialize in deep cleaning or eco-friendly practices, while others offer additional services like carpet cleaning, window washing, or organizing. Choose a service provider that aligns with your specific needs and preferences.
Certifications and Insurance: Ensure that your chosen cleaning company is properly licensed, bonded, and insured. This protects you against liability in case of accidents or damages during the cleaning process. Professional cleaners should also adhere to industry standards and safety protocols to deliver consistent and reliable service.
Customizable Cleaning Plans: Every home is unique, and your cleaning needs may vary depending on household size, pets, and personal preferences. Look for a service offering customizable cleaning plans tailored to your requirements. This ensures you receive a thorough cleaning that meets your expectations every time.
Tips for Maintaining a Clean Home Between Professional Cleanings
Establish Daily Habits: Incorporate simple routines like making beds, wiping down surfaces after use, and picking up clutter to maintain tidiness throughout the week.
Focus on High-Traffic Areas: Regularly clean frequently used spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms, and entryways to prevent dirt buildup and maintain cleanliness.
Use Efficient Cleaning Tools: Invest in quality cleaning tools like microfiber cloths, vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters, and multi-purpose cleaners to streamline your cleaning process.
Conclusion
Regular residential cleaning services are not just a luxury but a necessity for homeowners in Los Angeles who prioritize cleanliness, health, and convenience. By investing in professional cleaning, you maintain a pristine living environment and enhance the overall quality of life for you and your family. If you're looking for reliable and experienced Los Angeles cleaners, consider contacting The Janitors. Their commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction makes them a trusted choice for residential cleaning services in the area. Enjoy the benefits of a cleaner home and more time for what matters most, knowing that your living space is in capable hands.

Thelma (2024) review
Tumblr media
It was either this or Despicable Me 4. And I ain’t giving another penny to those dastardly minions!
Plot: Thelma Post is a 93-year-old grandmother who loses $10,000 to a con artist on the phone. With help from a friend and his motorized scooter, she soon embarks on a treacherous journey across Los Angeles to reclaim what was taken from her.
I am actually shocked that this is June Squibb’s FIRST lead role. The lady is a damn Academy Award winner for Christ’s sake, and yet it took her to reach her nineties to get top billing? Adds another layer to the saying “better late than ever”. Then again, if you look at the current President of the United States then age doesn’t matter, no matter how many times you forget what you’re talking about or fall down the stairs of an Air Force One plane. So good on Squibb for getting the lead in this film, and not only that, but she’s now essentially an action star too. Kind of. The movie consistently references Tom Cruise’s insane stunts that he does by himself, and I believe Squibb did all her own stunts in Thelma too, which involved walking, typing on a computer keyboard, riding a mobility scooter, going up the stairs, stepping over a lamp and knitting. Honestly it’s impressive stuff I tell ya.
Essentially this is The Beekeeper: Elderly Edition. Remember the Jason Statham action flick earlier this year where he played a beekeeper that goes on a revenge spree following his sweet landlord/friend committing suicide after being scammed out of $2 million by a phishing company. Naturally Statham was on glorious ass-kicking form and there was some thrilling and entertaining action set pieces. With Thelma it’s essentially the same thing, only instead of Statham it’s Squibb, so the process is a tad more slow with a more chill vibe. Look, straight away I should say I’m not the target audience here. This is very much for the type of crowd that went to see those Best Exotic Marigold Hotel films. They’re very sweet in nature, but are extremely melancholic and have that overly comforting factor where you do just want to afterwards go see your grandparents and give them the biggest hug. It helps that June Squibb is adorable in this film, as she has that old-school warmth to her, but also when she starts trying to save the day, you can’t help but want to root for her. Also all the scenes in her house were simply lovely. Think it was the mixture of the light yellow/orange lighting to the typical overly comfortable furniture with flowery designs and essentially a place that’s stuck in time so to speak. Again there’s that warmth to it that was utterly delightful.
The story itself was alright. Like it’s nothing special and I’d say in the middle it does meander a bit too much where I did find myself getting distracted, but overall it’s a very low stakes movie shot in high style that works. I really dug June Squibb’s interactions with her grandson played by Fred Hechinger, and their bond is the true core of the movie. It was the attention to the little details, like when the grandson’s parents are giving him crap about drinking and oversleeping, but when the grandson looks up at June Squibb she simply looks back at him lovingly with zero judgement and even gives a cheeky wink of assurance which was so sweet. I’ve unfortunately never got the chance to meet either of my grandparents as they had passed before I was born, so even though I haven’t had personal experience of this I still very much connected with the grandmother/grandson dynamic.
Thelma is a fun, impressively naturalistic and overwhelmingly earnest look at the idea of growth, both old and young, and the importance of family, and though it’s not a movie that breaks any new ground or will have me want to go out of my way to go see it again, I very much appreciated it’s innocent cosy nature. It’s a movie about a cool grandma - take it as you will.
Overall score: 6/10

Looking out on the stairs of a building in Corso Matteotti in Milan, two steps are enough to realize that a confused and amused echo of fresh voices is thundering in my direction. It approaches like a round buzz that follows the structure of the stairs. He presses regardless of my presence, rushes past me quickly while I remain motionless on a dock. I realize, only later, that they are Tomlinson fans holding the autograph of their favorite singer, obtained who knows after how many dreams and waits. Elastic times that expand until 2010, the year in which the footballing promise of Doncaster showed up at X-Factor UK, did not pass the auditions but rather than be accompanied to the door, he was invited by Nicole Scherzinger, guest judge of that edition, to take part in a group in the company of other guys from different corners of the UK whose names are destined to resonate in the pop world of the 2000s: Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Harry Styles. As a strange media tradition wants, One Direction did not win the reality show but will confirm by far the star product of the talent show, as were the Måneskin, great seconds at the eleventh edition of XF Italia and now on the podium of the world. Around the corner: 50 million albums sold, titles such as Top New Artist according to Billboard, four BAFTAs, and in 2014, according to a list drawn up by The Sunday Times, OneD would have been the richest boy band in the history of British music, with assets of around 14 million pounds each, proceeds from both music and the sale of highly sought-after merch, world tours sold out in a few minutes, and a film, This is Us, by the documentarian Morgan Spurlock.
Faith in the Future. An eloquent name. Where did it come from?
“I already had the title of the album in mind before anything else. So that was what dictated the mood to what I wanted to say, to create. Usually you write a few songs before you think about the title of the album, but it was a nice way to do it, different, compelling. It gave me a very clear path of what I meant, in terms of the album's intentions. Then I was trying to create something that was nice to hear live as the past shows have been incredible, they have had an amazing reception. Now I would like to equal these sensations, this enthusiasm, I would like to double that extraordinary sensation ».
Bigger than me. What's bigger than you at the moment that you want to overcome?
“During the lockdown I stopped to think and reflected on my career as a whole, thinking about the shows, the songs and the meaning they can have for other people. And for a long time it hasn't been easy to realize the impact this has on people's lives. There were moments when I was on stage and everything seemed bigger than me. In those moments a lot of things go through my head, I think about trying to do everything right and to be
What would you recommend to a person who, like you, stops thinking too much? Where and how can this virtuous circle be interrupted?
“I would say try to take each day as it comes, trying to live in the moment for a while. Because it is very easy to get caught up in the anxiety of the unknown. But if you have even a shred of faith in that future, everything will be fine. "
Chicago. What are the cities that make you feel at home?
“There's no place like Doncaster, where I grew up. I spend a lot of time in Los Angeles, [stunt mention] so obviously there is that feeling of home due to having an important person in a specific place. One place I always come back to, then, for whatever reason, is Barcelona. I had good experiences there, good times. I think it's a great city. I've never lived there, but I go there often and will continue to do so.
The greatest. What's the song of your life, the one you always come back to?
I would instinctively say Super Sonic by Oasis.
And your biggest fear?
Some time ago I would have told you the fear of getting old. Now that I am more mature I would say that it is that of not being able to make more music. It's all I have, all I know how to do
And the greatest hope for the future?
To continue doing live music shows, meeting my fans, touring around the world.
The biggest advice you can give to anyone who would like to become an artist, tomorrow.
I think when you start working as an artist it can be difficult to understand who you are specifically. This is a process, but it is much easier to work backwards from who you are not. And it's something I've always found very strong: working backwards like this. It gives you a clearer picture of who you are as an individual and as an artist.
And you, what are you not?
An asshole. I think. I hope.

lol so like 100000 years ago, like literally all the way back in MARCH when i was still living in my shithole apartment, i ordered stuff from some company that i had assumed was legit, and i had ordered it to be delivered to my dad’s house because i knew i was about to move out of that shithole and their website said to allow 2-3 weeks for processing before it shipped. well. 2-3 weeks went by, then 2-3 months, and it never shipped. and i noticed some stuff was off about the whole thing, like in the shopify app you couldn’t actually browse the products like you can with literally every other shop, you have to go to their website directly to even see their shit. and because of this there’s also no shop rating in the shopify app like there is with literally every other shop. so i’m like, ok, whatever, i got scammed, and i’m out like $100, but i have other shit going on right now too so i don’t really care that much about that. and i did report it to shopify a couple times like, hey, i never got my shit, but obviously nothing ever came of that. and i’m also separately having a weird problem with my email address where it’s like 14 years old and the provider has actually been defunct for a while now and i literally don’t even know if that’s actually why but ANYWAY every time i try to send an email from my email app it just bounces and doesn’t send and i can’t even log into my account on their website either because the 2-factor authentication they have on there literally does not even work, like it sends me a code and then i put in the code and it’s like, wrong code! even though i know for a fact it’s the right code.
and so anyway all this to say i couldn’t email the company directly either so i was just like whatever. but then i also didn’t want to try to get my bank to refund the charges either because i was like, what if they do eventually ship it? and obviously they wouldn’t do ever do that if i managed to get my money back, and i did want that stuff clearly because otherwise i wouldn’t have ordered it. so i just kind of forgot about it for a while and made a million other online purchases on shopify since then all of which i’ve had zero issues with. so it was just kind of this thing in the background that i was just choosing to not deal with.
but then fast-forward to today. the “order placed” just randomly changed to “shipped.” and there’s no tracking number and i never got any type of email saying it had shipped. and the only time i’ve ever had a package not have a tracking number is when i’ve ordered overseas from the uk and this company is ALLEGEDLY based in the la area so i’m just like…lol. and i don’t know at what point this happened but i tried to click on their website today after this and the domain literally isn’t even registered anymore. so like again…lol. and i’m thinking either this package hasn’t actually shipped and will not actually ship and it was just marked as shipped so they don’t get in trouble for never having shipped it at the six-month mark which is coming up really soon OR if it did ship it did NOT ship from los angeles and instead shipped from somewhere overseas(presumably china) and could i guess actually theoretically arrive at some point within the next month. which of course will be ~6 months after i ordered it. which AGAIN…lol!

Hey guys. Today Netflix announced the date for their TUDUM event, where people (mostly actors) present exclusive stuff from their various Netflix projects. Now since the presentation I don't think is any different from the usual award shows, I would've guessed that there are writers working for the event, writing the monologues and whatnots. However I haven't been able to find anything about how (or whether) the strike affects the event in any way. Do you have any idea what's happening? Was I wrong in assuming that there are WGA writers working for the event? Does the fact that this year's event will be live from Brazil is a factor in any kind?
Thanks for this question! While Netflix is obviously one of the struck companies, it's seems doubtful to me personally (mod ani) that Netflix would employ WGA members to write its promotional material such as Tudum scripts (which would make it different from, say, the Tony awards, which does use WGA writers.) That might instead be the role of an in-house PR person or another non-WGA position, so at this moment we don't know if anyone involved is scabbing or not. We might have more clarity on this later, but Netflix will probably try to keep things unclear and it's hard to tell from the outside!
We currently haven't seen any official WGA statement about Tudum, though that might change later on. Most of the people shown in the promo video are actors, so they don't really have the option of pulling out because of the strike.
(The exception is Zack Snyder appearing for Rebel Moon, which he's directing and co-wrote with two other writers. WGA members are not supposed to be promoting their work right now, but what Snyder's doing is a bit of a loophole since he and Netflix could argue he's doing it in his role of director. But it is a tad sus and not within the best interests of the WGA right now! Come on, Snyder, read the room.)
As for it being in Brazil, that may have been decided months ago—we don't know for sure—but it could also definitely have something to do with Netflix not wanting to get picketed in Los Angeles 🙃
[Brazilian fans, of course, have the option to peacefully picket outside Netflix Brazil HQ; here's the address: Alameda Xingu, 350 - Alphaville Industrial, Barueri - SP, 06455-911, Brazil
Note: not sure if this is where Tudum will be filmed, but symbolically Netflix HQ might be the place to protest... unless anyone else has differing info on the livestream location. If you or anyone else in the area is interested in spearheading a Tudum protest for fans around São Paulo, let us know and we can connect you with more fans4wga people! Sadly right now we don't have anyone located nearby so we could only offer remote support.]

Postcards from Snagglepuss
So what's it like diving (and cleaning up) Avalon Bay?
AVALON, SANTA CATALINA ISLAND, CA: Just ask any of our diving contingents who joined in the Avalon Harbour Underwater Cleanup recently--Peter Potamus' Magic Divers, the Divin' Wolf Pups or even the Catalina Diving Clowder (which had a sort of glam factor not even the Bratz could emulate)--and they'll acknowledge as much the ecstasy of the experience as the willingness to do good.
But without being weighted down by demands from censors at the networks for something "healthy" or "nutritive," even; heavens to William Wrigley! At least it wasn't the Laff-a-Lympics redone. But believe you me, with such company rather interesting as we manage to come along with, and with the proceeds going to the Two Harbors Hyperbaric Chamber, at least it's doing good without such being forced down our necks.
The which came up in an "after-the-dive" luncheon at a campy little bar in Avalon off Crescent Avenue, the main drag therefor, Huck and I had with Peter Potamus. In answer to a question Huckleberry "himself" posed about how predictable the refuse collected from Avalon Bay could get, Peter responded, "Pshaw! I assume you still recall when Lippy and I found that iron bedframe ..."
"We still do," we remarked.
"But at any rate, while you may still find a lot of wallets with cash, credit and debit cards in the harbour, consider where mobile phones loaded with e-payment wallet apps--Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Venmo, PayPal--and likely still having active balances managed to turn up. And for some reason, those Divin' Wolf Pups found at least five such mobiles between them, though they managed to resist the temptation of trying to use such apps, knowing they eventually had to be turned in as part of the haul."
"Certainly, though, Peter," Huck remarked, "I suppose such who still had balances on those e-pay plans will likely get their balances intact with a new mobile so replacing."
"Let's hope so." (Short pause while Peter took his lunch.) "And as for those Clowder gals, how irresistable could their appearance get?"
"I just hope," saith I, "they weren't asked to leave the cleanup for 'causing a needless distraction.'"
"Wherever did that notion come from, Snag?! Of that dive contingent feline, boys, Sabrina managed to turn in some kinky-looking fishnet stockings and a pair of garters, winning the prize for Weirdest Items Collected. Never mind their suggestive nature ... and Jayne collected nine wallets or billfolds, a money clip as still had over a thousand dollars in same, four mobile phones, an iPad and six gold coins, two of which were half-ounce Mexican Centenarios!"
"Though I have to admit what Jayne hauled," Huckleberry Hound remarked, "certainly took the cake for most items found."
"By our contingents. But for sheer luck, consider what Lola and Jessamaine from the Diving Clowder discovered: Three briefcases in all, contents to be determined as they were locked and secured when thrown overboard ... I just hope espionage isn't at serious play!"
"How about sending in Super Snooper and Blabbermouse to examine the contents?" asked Huck.
"One of the judges at the Harbour Cleanup, in taking note of the briefcases found, mentioned that Los Angeles County Sheriffs' agents will likely examine and take action. Catalina is technically under the Sheriffs' Office's jurisdiction for law enforcement ends."
"Presumably including possible contraband," said I.
"Rather likely" was all Peter could add.

About Aston Morris
Aston Morris was born in Nevada to a single mom in 1966. He grew up without a father due to his biological father being a married man who didn't want anything to do with him and his mom.
Growing up, Aston wanted to become an astronaut after seeing the moon landing. In his teens, he started working at a poorly ran waterpark, where an incident broke his nose and left him with a brain injury.
While he recovered mostly physically, this still left him being denied a spot in an astronaut training program.
While his outburst left him getting arrested, he was approached by the MantiCorp with a job offer to work as an enforcer. While the pay alone was nice, 19 year old Aston accepted the offer just to be able to see space.
Aston was going to start working for the company fulltime, but after a vacation in Los Angeles, he auditioned for an acting job he found, which led him getting a leading role in a sitcom that became a hit and started his acting career.
Despite gaining stardom, Aston still continued working for MantiCorp, thought his work for the corporation became less frequent.
As the most successful one from their high school class, Aston was tasked with hosting and arranging their high school reunion, leading him to reconnect and then start a romantic relationship with his high school friend, Juliet Barker, now going by Juliet Heartwood

About the STARMAN: The STARMAN project was a hybrid experiment by the MantiCorp to test out combat ready humanoid robots and using robots to replace or "resurrect" dead individuals. The STARMAN failed with the first goal, due to the fine motors and materials raising the price of production being too expensive compared to other more crude robots which could be mass produced for cheaper. Even in more delicate cases like assassinations or espionage, it would be more convenient to simply train a non-robot individual. As for the second goal, it was meant to rival cyborgs, which had been popular for a while to extend one's life, or use it to recover from fatal bodily injuries. Cyborgs, however, required the brain of the customer to stay intact and alive till the process was complete, and the STARMAN project broke new ground by instead of requiring the brain, a simple scan of the subject's mind was sufficient enough to let them live on in a robot body. Despite it's success, this was deemed not worthy to follow through due to ethic's concerns, the possibility of copy being inaccurate to the original person and the price range leaving a very limited customer base. Due to these factors, the STARMAN project was shut down, but the "Aston Morris"-model was kept around due to the request of the current CEO, Midge Mantis, citing "convenience".

The 3 basic steps to put a website online
Even before putting a site online, you need to make some fundamental choices that will impact the entire online project, especially if the website represents a company or freelancer. In this case, contacting a professional web agency is recommended because unless you're a professional web designer, you can't do it yourself. But what are these three important steps to get your website online? Let's see them in detail.
Tumblr media
Choosing the domain name
The first step to take is choosing the domain name. The domain name will compose the address or URL of your website. You will have to choose between a name that represents your brand in the case of a company and the name and surname in the case of a professional.
Or choose a domain name that contains the keyword that identifies the subject matter of the site you are going to build. In the case of a well-known brand, it is better to focus on the name, in other cases, on the keyword.
Choosing the web hosting service
The second step is choosing the web hosting service and the type of server that will host your new site. This is a very important choice as it will have a powerful impact on the future online project. In practice, you will have to make a choice by correctly evaluating your present and future needs.
The performance and security of your site will depend on this choice, so you can't go wrong. For example, a poor web hosting service will result in poor loading speed of web pages, which is a very relevant factor.
Creation of the site
The third and last step, but no less important, concerns the creation of the site. To create a website, you need skills in programming languages or knowledge of the best CMS and choose the most suitable one, depending on your online project.
Furthermore, the site must be responsive, i.e., usable from any device, especially mobile, since mobile navigation has now surpassed desktop navigation.
These are the basic steps crucial for putting your website online. However, entrusting this task to a professional and experienced Los Angeles Web Design & Digital Marketing Agency is recommended to ensure that all these steps are managed in the best possible way.
