"What's the matter?" Daryl asked, coming to stand behind you as you stared into the scant closet. His body landed flush against yours and his hands pulled your hips back into him more tightly.

You sighed. "I don't want to go to this stupid event. How is it possible there even are fancy events anymore?" you asked. "It just feels wrong..." You turned in his arms and your hands landed on his sides. He gripped your hips more firmly, more securely. "And you have to work security, so I'm going to be by myself. I'd feel a lot better if you were going to be with me, right next to me."

"Yumiko will be there," Daryl reminded you, trying to sound reassuring.

"Yeah," you said vaguely. "They didn't even give me a choice. I understand why Tomi was hiding his medical degree. Just because I had a stupid, fancy degree in the old world now I'm stuck orbiting around all these assholes..."

Daryl chuckled and you looked up at him and met his blue eyes, which were narrowed slightly in a smile. "S'just one night. It'll be okay. And I'll be close by."

"Yeah," you sighed again. You turned back to the closet. "Help me choose something to wear?"

"Mmm," Daryl hummed. He left his position behind you and stepped forward to the closet. He shoved most of the hangers out of the way, reaching for one specific item of clothing. He held it out to you, clearly proud of his joke, and you smiled. It was his vest, leather arms stitched on for the cooler weather so it was a complete jacket.

You couldn't help laughing at his joke. "Babe... I don't think it's up to the dress code. They said semi-formal."

"Hmm. Alrigh'. Put one of them fancy dresses underneath it," he retorted, still smirking.

You grabbed the hanger from him. "Somehow, I don't think it'll fly... but I tell you what—maybe I can save it for later tonight when it's just the two of us. You know... as a complete outfit." Daryl's eyebrows lifted.

"Ya better not be teasin'," he drawled.

"I would never joke about something like that," you giggled.

I've been working on this mini project for about 2 months now, I'm really glad it's completed! At least, I think it's done...I might go back and do more edits ^^;

Preston was the easiest to draw, while Nick was definitely the hardest! Here's the list of the reference photos I used:

Small observation on this one. It appears to be a digital page or scan from the F4 artbook. The reason I find this odd is Ray has uploaded other pieces from what I have to assume is his personal work archive. For some reason he seems to have uploaded a page from the art book instead of his original pieces in isolation.

Either he didn't have access to the originals or he simply liked how all the pieces looked together on a single page per the artbook.

Here's a random head canon I have for Maxson, the Brotherhood of Steel, and in general, the foods of the wasteland (It's 5:30am and I havent gone to bed, so if you want more please let me know!):

I feel like he would have a low spice tolerance. And so to this, the rations on the Prydwen would be very bland, more like a 'season it yourself' type deal.

It'd be very common to see a bigger supply of the pre-war foods on board, and any meat that was brought in from excursions would either be cooked with only salt or no seasonings at all.

This is also why you'll see a lot of people in the mess hall of the ship eating noodles, as noodles are easily customizable to ones palette.

Speaking of spices and seasonings, salt would obviously still be available. Salt farming is rarer, though, as there's barely any plants in the Commonwealth to farm it. If they wanted salt, they'd have to manually take the water from the Atlantic and boil it themselves to extract the salt. Nordhagen Beach would probably be the settlement to do this, and would it would be a successful business, too.

While the bean itself isn't spicy, the pods silt beans come in and would probably infuse a slight spice into whatever liquid they're steeped in. This would be a very mild spice, though. The beans themselves would probably be similar to peas.

Bloodleaf can be dried and crushed to add a bitter accent to any dish, or they can be steeped once dried to make a somewhat bitterly sweet tea. This would probably be paired with Hubflowers.

Thistle, if harvested correctly, would have a somewhat spicy tang to them. If harvested incorrectly, they could have a lot of radiation to them, so it's always safer to cook the thistle before even attempting to use it.

With trade routes all around the wastes, it'd be possible to gain other fruits and veg from the other provinces, so it would be highly likely there'd be pre-made spices and seasonings, too

Anything highly irradiated would have to be prepared properly before even making sure it's safe to consume. The radiation effecting the food would leave behind a kick of flavor in the meat/vegetation, but this would be different for every person. Some say it's a bit more bitter, while for others, it could be spicy.

Following up to this- this means MacCready would’ve known about the Institute and the Synths before arriving in the Commonwealth, seeing as he was the Mayor and him and Lucy were close.

I just think it’s quite funny.

"What the hell is that?" Daryl asked, incredulous. You were holding up a small revolver, grinning. "Where the hell did ya get that?" he asked in a hoarse whisper, tugging you farther down the alley so the two of you were hidden in shadow.

You laughed lightly. "I borrowed it."

"From where?" Daryl growled. He rubbed a hand over his face. "Jesus, we ain't been here a week and yer gonna get into deep shit! Where did ya get it?" he demanded.

"I borrowed it off our little friend Sebastian," you said.

Daryl's eyes widened. "Jesus, Y/N! What the hell are ya thinkin'!? He's gonna figure it out!"

"No, he won't!" you retorted. "I'm not an idiot! It's not like I took it off him while we were having a one-on-one chat! He was in a crowd of people. He'll have no idea what happened to it."

Daryl sighed and still looked worried. "Why ya always gotta find a new way to give me a damn headache?"

You laughed again. "Come on! It's fine! I'm like frickin' Robin Hood!"

Daryl let out an amused huff and you felt a great deal of satisfaction in the way his mouth twitched into a smile. "Ya wish ya were Robin Hood. At most yer a damn uncontrollable pickpocket with delusions of grandeur," he said, crossing his arms.

"Rude," you retorted, but you couldn't help laughing. "Here." You offered him the gun.

"Nah. I'd rather ya keep it. It'll make me feel better knowin' ya have it. But be careful. Keep it hidden unless it's an emergency, alrigh'?"

"You mean until it's an emergency. This place is going to implode sooner or later."

"Right. Until." He gave you a fond look and couldn't help shaking his head one more time. Prompt: "I'm like Robin Hood!" / "You wish you were Robin Hood. At most you're a pickpocket with delusions of grandeur."
